Speaker 1: Oh damn it, I have a new single. Yeah, sad, bro D, Brod you like doing that sounds and I don't as a terrible ring to it. Start up, Start Up, Brooklyn Boys. Hey, star up Brooklyn Boys. That dot up? They making noise? Dot up? Do we really make noise? Dot up? Episode? It's the Brooklyn Boys podcast. We're almost at our thirtieth episode. I think we should count zero if we count the zero episode, right. I was trying to figure out yesterday, should we make zero and one one A and one B. I feel like people go to episode one but don't know there's an episode zero, Like I know why. At the time we get episodes. Every day at this time, I get a fucking phone call from NJ Power. They're they're calling me right now. I hate this. Hold on hello, ask you switch your electricity? Electricity electricity, but not these guys. Hey, hello, Hello, it's the recording. Come on, you're talking to him? Okay, okay. Every every day at this time I get a call from NJ Power. But here's the thing. It says NJ Power in the caller. I d but Brody, if I swear to God, it's a different phone number every time. So I keep blocking the numbers and they keep popping up under different They use the last four numbers, and they because they probably they ghost toy, they use like a so they have they own like a whole block in numbers. Like when we phone tap people, we can make any number come up. They do the same thing. Suck they spoof thereof spoofing. Yes, I don't know. Back to what you were saying, I think episode zero should count as the first episode because if it's the first episode, this technically would be the thirtieth episode that we've done that we've done. The episode zero is weird because it was a transition time right. We played old jingles, didn't really didn't really count. It was like a bonus episode to carry over. It was it was a break, It was pre dessert, it was about that. It was pre predesert. I call it a bridge over troubled water. It was the bridge that troubled It's a good episode zero. Check it out, all right, cool? You know what. I go back and listen to that one sometimes, because if those are our humble beginning speaking of, go back and check it out. So here's what I've learned from people tweeting at us because I keep wondering why some of our episodes are dramatically more listens than others. And I partially think that people listening out of all you are so obsessed with this. I like to know what works, like I like to know what we're doing that really works. And so, um, I think the Joe Gatto episode needs more listens. I feel like, what number is that again? Twenty or twenty one? I'll pull it up, depending on for counting, episode zero number two? Number number? Yeah, So is it because it's not because us to the title, I need to believe that it has nothing to do with you. I changed the title. Originally the title was Joe Gatto from The Impractical Jokers sits us, and it only had like I don't want to say numbers, but it had like our normal listenership. And I changed it and now it has like eighty five. What people have busy days, they don't know. But the Joe Gatto episode, you know, hilarious it is. But I also think that that episode, um, it was in a time where we were forced feeding. We were feeding a lot of episodes at a time. Didn't we do too that week? I just feel like at some point people lost track and they just can't go back. They don't have the time. I'm okay with it. People are going back. We've met people, they go back. Some people do. We got a couple of people, let's say they binge. They just started. We got a lot of tweets this past week that people heard us on because Elvis has been talking about this a lot. First of all, shout out to Elvis Duran, because not only has he been plugging our podcast and referring to us as the Brooklyn Boys, but twice in the past couple of weeks he's let us do the horoscopes at six oh eight in the morning, roughly eight minutes after six as soon as we got sign on the air every morning. Right. But I never know if we should be like, do this hard scopes the way we would be doing our podcast talking like this right or in Barry's don't be an asshole, follow your dreams, make friends your days of seven, asshole Capricorn, forget about it. Yeah, you know you want to. You want to fucking take a look at your Vegittarius, Crystal. If I've told you once, I've told you twice. Sagittarius, don't make me repeat this, there's an adventure waiting for you right around the corner. Your days of freaking three. So when we do the horoscopes, and I hope everyone listening to this listen, you're gonna steal a car and strip it for her and sell it for its part. If you didn't hear us doing the horoscopes, we did them yesterday right for Wednesday on demand on the Elvis Duran replay channel. No you can't. You can listen to the on demand channel on the channel right because so already today is the Thursday show replaying on the replay channel. No, no, yeah, but on demand channel to go to the on demand channel radio and you can hear that was your assessment of that. Well, so, so a couple of things. So I didn't. I was running like three minutes late yesterday morning. So we do them at six o eight. So at five fifties six roughly. You texted me and said where are you and I said, I'm in the tunnel. I'll be there in a minute. You're like, well, Harry Elvis wants you to do the horoscopes now, since Bethany left. Usually was Bethany and Danielle. By the way, hashtag Bethany left. Spoiler, Um, it is Bethany and Danielle, and occasionally it would be Nat and Danielle or Nat and Bethany, but usually it's the girls, the ladies, the women. Today Elvis did them but so so I said, oh, he wants me to do them with Danielle. So I come. I'm flying in in the more. I'm running down the street and you you called me. You're like, where are you? Elvis needs you to do the hort scopes. So I'm like, wow, Scary's really got my back. So I come running in. I dropped my coach, up my bag. I run. It's like six oh four. I write Daniella note, and I just want to confirm that she's gonna go. First, she was like, I'm not doing him, Scar, He's doing him. She points to you. But then I realized that's why you were calling me, because I just wanted the boys. And if I didn't come running, you wouldn't have gotten to do him, because we both wouldn't have gotten to do him. Most likely you're concerned about that, concerned. I don't care. I've been on these air like like spewing hot air for twenty two years and I've been chiming in forwards the show for twenty years, alright, so this was like our moment to do a benchmark. It was a big deal for us. It was so So it goes back to the question in my head, I'm thinking, is it too early in the morning to do to be too much to do brooklyn Ny talk or you know, just play it straight and just be calm, because that's because people are waking up. You gotta picture where people are at that hour of the morning, and most people I was I know there are people you don't tell me about that, but there are people at that hour of the morning. They are listening, their alarms are going off, the wait listen, They're like, they just want to ease and today. Plus so I know Elvis is joking, but he always says, oh, listen to the brook Boys podcast. They yell for an hour. We don't yell for an hour. Well the jingle right there, I just said it. We're making noise and we're making startup, startup making noise. We're loud people. I had to again remind my wife and kids this what are we merely noise or are we making sense? I don't know, Um, I Okay, I think we're making This is what the problem is. I can't change the jingle to Brooklyn Boys. They're making poignant observations on the world and complaining about things and talking about free dessert and then pitching about each other, reading some emails and doing unused jokes, and they put their mothers on occasionally. It doesn't fit in the song. I get it, but it's gotta be something. Brooklyn Boys. They play with sex toys, they speak with poise. Really no, they like bock CHOI. I don't. Everyone knows that it's a vegetable. They've been to Illinois. We got some grammar police later, hold on, I have a new jingle and and Sam on our show producer Sam didn't have time to load it. So next episode we'll have to unveil my nude for grammar. No, don't be guessing what it is next episode. Next episode, speaking went over your head, Yeah I was. That was a nineties reference to the song. The next episode. I know, I know, but I didn't want you to try to guess what the jingle is. I'm not gonna get oh kay. Speaking of having our mom's on right, last two episodes ago was the twopisodes ago. My mom was one colding about how she got free deserted Walmart. I love your mom. I love my mom. By the way, we went to out back this weekend because she had a gift card. Right, of course, did a gift I'll take you to lunch. I have a gift card. I got to spend it. That count as taking you to lunch. Yeah, because she didn't get it for free. She got it as a birthday present. She had, like to spend your gift card, like she treated me to half her birthday present. Right, She's i'll take you to lunch. Because my mom is a gift card. It's like for her it's free. So I was like, i'll take you lunch. So we went out back and you called me right, and she just the whole time I'm on the phone, you my mother's going let me let me tell you let Thomas said, h yeah, I got my guy, I got it. So she's like, I don't do that. He's trying to get my attention. But you're allowed on the phone, and I'm loud, so I can't really hear you and her at the same time. And so when I get up to fun, You're like oh. So we both hang up, right, and then my mother says, I wanted to talk to him. I want to tell Scary sound Scary. I go, I doesn't have time, he's on the run. Then you texted me, say, how do your mom for me? Yeah? Because after I hung up, I'm like, oh my god, even sit to Brodie's mom. So I texted you, right, you texted me, said to your mom. So I said, mom, Scary says Hi. So then she gets mad at me and goes, see, I told you wanted to talk to me. Why when did you put me on the phone, Scary. She's right? So I said, okay, fine, I'll call him back. You better call him back. So I put on the phone. You you talked, I love She's so lovely. Every time, every conversation I have with your mom is one is better than the next. I remember we talked for an entire hour at the Brooklyn Cyclos. That's right. We were it out and stands and she was teaching me about life. I love I love, love love Mama Brody, and she told you she loved on the phone. She said, I love you, Scary, and we hung up and she says, I love Scary, But that was in contrast to her yelling at me on the podcast the other day. Wow, she got a little belligerent. She's my mom, just take my side. When we had your mom on, she took my side. Wait a second, that doesn't make any sense, I know, but she did. Your mom said, Mom's love me. What can I tell you? Um? Oh, so, anyway, you took your mom shopping, so right, that's right. I told you I was gonna take a shopping when we're on the phone. So we went to Walmart to spend her free dessert. Now, if you know what you should know what that is if you listen to these episodes in order, which you should do. Listen in order. So she got like thirty five bucks, thirty five dollars from Walmart free dessert, right, because they screwed her over. So we go to Walmart to do a little shopping and she buys what she has to buy whatever, so uneventful, everyone smoothly. She she bought what she This was this use of the word smooth smooth. So part of her bonus from Walmart, she got a coupon and a credit. So the credit she spends and the coupon was spend seventy five dollars and get like thirty off something like that. So she spends seventy two dollars and change and they're not going to give her thirty five dollars. No, no, no, what is what does David Brody do? I I'll help you out, Mom, And I give her a six pack of soda that I was buying from my car and I throw it on hers. So she gets the and I get free soda because I know she's not going to take the money for me because technically she didn't really pay for it by the way, you know, and maybe you could help me let me finish the mom story continue, right. So that was like, uh, Saturday, on the holiday weekend. Right, So today we're recording this on Thursday. Last night, Wednesday night, I call her like I do every night, say good night tour. She says, oh, are you recording a podcast tomorrow? Yeah? Yeah, she says, I saw those tweets. People love me. I know. Mom. We talked, We talked about it. She said, Um, I'm around tomorrow. I love your mom. I said, what do you mean you're around tomorrow? Because well, you know, I'm getting popular. I thought maybe you want an update on the free dessert. People want to know that I spent the money at Walmart. I said, Mom, the story was you got free dessert. They don't care what you spent it on. They don't need an update that you spent the credit. And I can tell that story. I don't need you to come on because I know. But I tell a story differently than you tell a story. Mom. Good. So mom's getting a big head. So we'll have that mom on and in a few episodes. Mom, she's such a ham r brisket. Your brisket. Okay, I prefer straw me. But yeah, anyway, what were you saying? You had your phone? Yeah? No, yeah, no, which one? Yeah? No, Valentine's Day my gift that I got. Okay, that you got. But we did talk about Bubba Palooza either. We didn't. We we'll get into that right here. But I wanted So this is kind of a dilemma, I guess. And that's not a dilemma. Dilemma, by the way, a dilemma is having to choose between two bad choices. That's what a dilemmas problem. This is not going to be a dilemma. A problem. Well, my girlfriend gave me that be careful where it's a podcast, No, no profanity. She also gave me a gift card to a a very expensive restaurant, and she said to me, it's a you know, here's a very very here's a gift card, and I want you to spend this on you and one of your friends. I don't want a piece of this. I don't want to Where are we going? Well, that's the thing that was that was that a plant? Is that a trick? Like? Am I obligated to spend it on her? Even though she because I thought this could be a trap. I'm like, she might be giving me this money and the gift card to see who I choose. But then she went in and told me because because in my head, I'm like, oh, automatic date night, this is gonna be a future date. No, she's I want you to go there with one of your other friends. Uh so what was she was? She? Am I reading to this? Hold on? Is she trying to say there's a couple of things here? She could just be nice. No, there's no no hidden agenda, right because you you pay for a lot of dinners for her, and she wants to buy you dinner number two? She wants a little time herself, like you need to go hang out with your friends, like I need some space. Well she's got that this weekend because I'll be going away to Miami and to k That's another topic we're going to talk about. That's on my list. By the way, Uh, your your girlfriend is on a couple of my lists right here. Um, r D. Just I'm gonna tell you why r D is an issue and in a minute initials, I know, but that's not why. That's not it, and that's not the name of a sponsor like you do with you initials and like Lorie Grossman, Laura or she wants you to come back and say, you know what, I've decided to use your gift card and take my best friend in the whole world to dinner you because essentially that's what I was really gonna do, is to end taking end up taking her to dinner. But she's seriously, I think she really wants me to. We could solve it. I can call her, no no, no, no, no no no. The listeners have to solve this. You'll put a pole up when you put the this episode. I'm wondering, what what is? What does it play here? But here, here's another question. Let's say hypothetically, and I'm not saying it needs to be or it should be. Even though i'm your co hosting partner in life, if you took me, that still would not count as my stake tenner, which is why you're not coming to dinner. Because I've seen of your asked every day. So that's an interesting little little thing. I'm not a dilemma, by the way. Dilemma. It's quadric. It's a quandary. You notice, it's between. It's a choice between two awful, awful things. People people misuse the word dilemma between the edition of dilemma. Yeah. There. It is situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two or more, especially see equally undesirable. Second definition, a difficult situation or problem. Third definition, an argument forcing an opponent to choose either of two unfavorable alternative unfavorable, but the second one is just a difficult situational problem. Therefore both are correct. All right, Kelly Rowland, you were right when you sang to Nelly in that song dilemma. Huh, because I always thought she was wrong. Yeah, but but you know what, no, man, what I do when with you, when with my boogle? When when Atlantis Morris said, sings, isn't it ironic? Most of them are not irony. I know that we should go If you want to track through that song, pu erics up next week. I would love to track to a traffic cam when you're already late. That's not irony. It's like rain on your wedding day. That's not irony. That's just shitty. Held on. Um, it's like man on any day. It's it's like, um, oh man, I we go through a little bit here. I think this. We should do this right here because I want to get to the bottom of this. What is ironic and what is my ironic in the song ironic? It's ironic that her song isn't ironic that but is that is that ironic? Because a lot of times people confuse coincidence with ironic. We could talked about this, Okay, we want a tract to it right now. No, we're not gonna play the whole thing. We can't a traffic jamin you already late. But here's this here is here? No tery, the next she won the lottery, he died the next death's on irony. That's just shitty. Okay, okay, wait, listen, it's lack fly black fly. That's not irony. No, no, it's a death row two minutes too late. Okay, someone got someone's on death row. They got they got the free pass and and the person got already got a fried. No good, it's not right. She is just not a Having green on your wedding day is not ironic. We're here's your death it's good advice you didn't take. No, okay. Here's the definition of irony, the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorus or emphatic reasons. Okay, a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result. Um, so here's here's irony. Okay, irony is going You're going on a job interview at Abercrombie and Fitch, and all your way there you get run over by an Abercrombie and Fitch truck. That's ironic. But if you and your friends show up both wearing Abercrombie sweaters, that's a coincidence. People are it's ironic. We wann't say an outfit. No, it's ironic, you're an idiot. It's a coincidentkay, it safe. It's not that this song makes zero sense. I think the irony part is that the traffic jam when you're a late break no smoking. So if you see no smoking sign and you're and you're smoking, that's that's the shitty. First of all, you should okay, we'll get out of So. I think the ironic part about that song is it's about irony, but it's not ironic. Is I think the song lyrics are ironic in the sense that it's supposed to be irony, but the ironic part is it isn't. Yeah, I think there you go. Would it be ironic if I'm sitting in the dentist chair and the dentist who's working on me has teeth, Yes, that's ironic. Yes, yeah, that would be ironic that the guy, yeah it has bad teeth. But if you had a broken arm, it wouldn't be ironiculd. Just if I'm getting a haircut by someone with a bad haircut, that's ironic. Yeah, I mean he didn't give his own Yes, he didn't give his own hair. He usually doesn't cut his own hair. But yes, Okay, all right, I'm just close to irony. So yeah, so about balan Time's Day booble Palooza. Now that we're talking about that, yeah, then my gift. Right, So you wanted to go to Sports Illustrated swimsuit party, which happened on Valentine's Day. It was it was Valentine. You thought you'd take your your girlfriend. She loved that. She had a good time, allegedly. So the biggest sign in the room was Kate up To. I mean, well, tire Banks was there for a minute, but she just like she pieced out real quick. So I'm standing there and and I'm with my girlfriend. Were a bunch of people that we're talking to him, like should we get a picture with Kate up To? I mean, she's talking to a lot of people. Now we've met Kate up Did, and we've had her on our morning show, Elvis. Elvis had her on as like a guest with Bobby Brown when she was the face of Bobby Brown Cosmetic. But you know, it's ironic the picture that I have with her. I mean, it's a picture that I'll never it was. I was at my largest. That's not ironic, that's shitty. That's just shitty. That was fatty, fatty scary. That's what I was. I was like seventeen times the size I am now. And I'm like, I can never show this picture again. I could use it as a before and my before and after pictures, but it's terrible. Look I look like I look huge. So I'm like, I need a new picture with Kate Upton now that you've you've lost your weights. Scary man, Right, So you went up to Kate Upton in an event where it's an invite only, so it's not like walking in, right, and it's an event that is a swimsuit edition of a party that she's in the magazine. These are people who's living is to get pictures taken. That is correct what she does, that's who she is. This could be ironic, Yes, this is ironicnic, but she was posing for pictures. Yes, there are people she's like. Oh so she was turning around. She was she was in a conversation with two other people and she kept turning around being interrupted by others. Okay, take a picture. Okay. Finally I worked a nerve to go up to her. I'm like, okay, hey, I'm scary from the Elvis Durran schell. We remember we met a while back. Um, you know I love to love to get a picture. And she looks at and she's like, okay, um, maybe we'll get my friends to take one too with us. And she kind of backed out and backed and walked backwards and then turned to rats and link get my friends, turns around and walks away from me and she bugs bunnied right out, like she really did. She out of there. So you got up into so you wait to get a She took pictures with everybody except for me. Now when you told me the story the first time, I said, it's because you said, Hi, I'm scary. Now your name is scary, but people think it's scary. I think that she did. She all she heard was Hi, I'm scary. Can I get a picture of you? I know why. I'll tell you why, because had you grow with you know it was because I have another theory. I have a large social media following. And you think she knows that because she said if I am scary, for if I'm if I'm part of a show. And this isn't me being a cocky son of a bitch. You could call me that, but you, and he gave me permission. A lot of people in the room, they take a picture, they throw it up on Instagram. A couple of hundred people see it here in there, that's great, a couple of likes. She knows that no matter how bad she looks, if she thinks she looks bad, whatever, because who knows what's going on in her brain. She might she felt like she wasn't looking at her best, that that that these pictures are gonna go nowhere. But the second I say, oh yeah, I'm with Elves Durant show, what if it What if it, you know, ended up on the show? What if it ended up on the instance the social media for the show. Now you got hundreds of thousands of people seeing it. Literally there's four hundred thousand people that follow the Instagram of the Morning show. And then what happens, And then she's thinking, like that goes viral real quick. So she only wants to be photographed by like a professional photographer. Maybe because I understand that I have, you know, my girlfriend there with the cell phone ready to go, and it was maybe that was my theory. It's a theory. And by the way, it's similar thing happened with Justin timber Lake when he was here in the building. You know, uh, not that I was asked for a picture, but he didn't even get a picture with him. And then and then he left, and then he went downstairs and he took a thousand selfies with everybody in the lobby and outside. It's well documented. But he can't say no to the fans. Here's what I'll tell you who isn't um A couple of things. I've had celebrities where I've met outside of the radio station and um, like at meeting greets and stuff, and a lot of them will insist on taking selfies and they hold the camera so that they can make sure they like the angle. I never thought of that, I'll tell you. Um. We went to uh, my co host on Walkers and Talkers podcast on I Heart Radio, Google Play and iTunes. We went to the Walking Walking Dead season eight premier and we got to meet most of the cast. A lot of them were like, oh, okay, give me your camera, well take a picture. I was like, no, I got no, no, no, I got it. And they hold it up at a high angle and they take away. They like a lot of my Walking Dead pictures are the cast holding my camera because they like it, or if I held it, they go wait a minute, and they lean the way they want and they go go ahead. I didn't realize that they like their angle. Now what have I got up? I got up in um. The last time I got upton was at the World Series. You and I were sitting behind home plate in two thousand fifteen at the Mets Royals World Series, and I want to say, yeah, two rows behind us, we're two guys once a Mets fan, ones not. They're good friends and I happened to like one guy a lot and one guy enough. And I'm gonna tell you their names. They're very polarizing politically. I don't I don't not look going to offend anybody or I don't want you don't have to tell me you don't like them. I don't care. I just I just I like them, and I understand they have their points where they rub people the wrong way. But the point was sitting behind us, in two rows behind us with Bill Maher, who many years ago I wrote for. He was the second late night talk show that I wrote comedy for, but it was a long time ago. And the other guy was Michael Moore, the director who people either love or hate, And so I really wanted to go over and say how he's done a lot. Don't try to he's done a lot. He's done a lot of movies, a lot of documents. He's very polarizing anyway. So I walk over, I go around. I waved to them, they wave, and uh, I know, Bill mart likes the Mets. He's he's a smidge owner of the team, the way you own restaurants. He owns like a little smidge of the Mets. And so I walk over. I said, hey, hey, Bill, Michael, how are you go? Go Hey, great game, yet a little small talk, and and I said, uh, I said, hey, Bill, I wrote for you in the mid nineties, long time ago. I know, if you're listening, you're like it was born in the mid nineties. I get it. Uh I I wrote for him. He called my house to thank me, love my stuff. Yeah, but he never met me. It was all faxed in back in the day of faxing. I faxed in jokes. He paid me, used a lot of my jokes during the presidential campaign back in the day. And so I said, you know, many years ago, I wrote for you, and I'm a fan of my cousin John worked for you. Oh my god, we yeah, John, I love Johnny's great. Yeah. H So I said, uh, listen, I don't want to bother you. The games going, And I said, can we grab a quick pick? And he would uh no, He just totally flat out no. Yeah, at least Kate Upton. Try to like make it some stupid excuse and all my friends, I gotta look up get my friends. Well yeah, And then I get it because he was sort of like just dressed down, sloppy at a met game. He wasn't like looking good whatever. Um, And I was like, oh, I like you, Bill, I don't care what you look like. But he knew who I was. I told him where I work, so maybe the same thing could be. But I have a Kate Upton theory. And then I want you to tell the story how you got Upton the second time. Here's my other theory about um Kate Upton. In one of our first episodes, maybe episode six or seven, remind everyone who Kate Upton is married to. Do you remember up to Justin Verlander? Right? And do you remember? We spent like twenty minutes on this podcast talking about Justin Verlander. Oh my god, we did yep. We talked about how he had someone in every city that he had sex with Philanderer and we knew, we were friendly with his New York was it New York or Philly? New York? One of his area girls, we knew her. And we did a whole thing about how baseball players have women in different area codes, like just like the Ludicrous song, don't you I don't want to use the H word. I don't want to say yes, thank you for centering me. I was gonna censer myself. Oh cool, I'm saying I don't want to say it. You could say it in different area codes. Okay, continue, dead on man dead on. The Ludicrous was here anyway, he was on Stephen Colbert, He's on the Fear Factor. He was on the Colbert Less Night plugging the Fear Factor. So yeah, so you think that's why Kate I think, didn't I think? Hold on? I think Kate Upton maybe a fan of the Brooklyn Buys. Yea, I think he's a fan. And until episode six or seven heard us talking about Justin Justinder and then was like and then she heard your names, like I know who's scary from the Elvis Ran show is he's one of the two guys that was talking about how my man Justin is having sex in every city with other women. Now, no one is saying Justin had has ever cheated on Kate. Never would never say that. I have no idea. Kate. It's a wonderful woman. I'm not saying that. I'm saying maybe it got back to her like, hey, Kate, this this podcast, they're talking about your husband. Well, then how do you explain. Less than twenty four hours later, Iggy is Zalu was here and you remember the weird question? Yeah, yeah, TMZ. I was gonna ask her. I said, so I saw you, so what can you tell me about the time Weirdo Yankovic saw you at the airport and TMZ was rolling Yeah that question. You never got that question. I never got to him. I was gonna ask to her about how she feels about parodying. So so what happened was after we do an interview, the the artist usually talks to Elvis for a few seconds off the air, and then we say let's get some pictures. We go outside. We have a step and repeat wall that drops down with the Elvis Straight In morning show logo, and usually the celebrity takes a couple of solo pictures with our photographer for you know, for pressed purposes. They pose, and then the main players on the show, the co hosts, you know, at the time it was Bethany, Danielle, Elvis Skary, you guys get your picture. I am not in that group, so I wait until after that group, and I if this time I'll say, he can I grab a solo picture? So the main pictures get taken at that point, I think Bethany got a solo and Danielle got a solo with her selfie. And then as you were walking up to her, she looked over in your direction. I don't know if she saw you or not, then turned straight, walked right between you and me. Uh and uh and left. So I got like side up and you got up in because because you said you this, when you said, hey, can I get a gig? Get she said, zell you later right now. So if you got upton, why don't you tweet us about the time. Tell us about the time you got up in hashtag upton, hashtag I got up. Well, let's say some characters i'd rather hear all right, yeah, I like that. I tweet us at at Brooken Boys WTF and at Skeewie Jones and at Underscore body. Yeah. Oh, can I just say I got David brodied again on Twitter. I've talked about this when whenever David Brody the Christian News Network, I Christian Broadcasting Network, the conservative author now is a book out about the president and the president's faith and religion. I think it's the Faith of Trump or something like that. Anyway, whenever he goes on non right wing media, people watching don't like him and they hate tweet me. Well, this was this was the old time. These are just desserts. These are all free desserts for David Brode. This was so confusing David Underscore Brody with with with he's not right and so I want to get these. I want to get the screenshot. This was a wonderful morning when I saw this come through. Okay, so people start congratulating me on my book. Here's what happened at real Donald Trump. You may know who he is on Twitter. He's the president. He tweeted out the Faith of Donald Trump in quotes the name of the book. A book just Out by David Brodie and Scott Lamb A very interesting read and enjoy. You know what, you have to laugh because I would love to see the president's right now. He didn't tweet, he didn't tweet at me, just tweeted my name. But it was actually the David Brodie. So people search feel like this so angry. Now. I guess people hate follow the president because if you hate, if you hate the guy who wrote his book, you probably don't like him. So they probably follow him to see what he says next. Right, So they saw his tweet and we're like, oh, that guy wrote that book him. These people say it was just um, you know what it was a lot of it was questioning the president's faith and blaming me for it. Like you asked, all the president, isn't this you know you? How can you write a book like that? You snoop? How did you respond to? Do you ignore these people? You block him? What do you do? I write them all back and I say, terrible, Please be more careful. I'm not that David Brodie. I'm quite opposite of him in many ways. Uh, this is who the guy is. You want? How do you think? Harvey Fierstein feels yeah. No, you you know how many people probably hate tweet him because think they think that he's Harvey Weinstein. So part of me wanted a tweet at the President and say, I'm glad you liked my book, sir, please follow me, figuring he would just click follow, you know, and just you know, because in a in a rush, you know, he goes through so many tweets, he would follow me. I don't need him to follow me because you know, I'm just you know, So I said, oh my god, all these people are gonna follow me and hate me or you said, well, if they think of the other David Brodie, they might follow you. And I said, but they're not gonna like me. You're like, hey, it follows a follow take it press is bad press? Yeah, but you know what I can. I But then I after like a week, they would unfollow me. I'll make one joke and they would unfollow me. Well, like yesterday a woman unfollowed me. She was not a fan. I made some comment that was not about nothing, and she's like, people are so grouchy. I like to just be funny. I'm very lighthearted on socio. Okay, can I talk about phones for a second. Yeah, okay, smartphones they do everything right, they have they have GPS built in. She could use Google Maps or whatever map system you want to use wherever you are. It tells you where you are. What the fuck? What are you doing? Not you specifically you're walking down the streets in Manhattan where the phone in your hand lost? Not looking at your phone? What are you doing asking me for directions? Now? I told you in New Yorker, I love giving directions. Well, every phone comes native with a map, no matter what it is. Put your data on. Now, if you're a tourist from like another part of the world, it's a tourist, tourist thinks turists tourists to tourists. Come on, where were you? What are you from? Where you from? Brooklyn? Tourist? Turist? Tourist turist heard that one before? Yeah, you have all right. So if you're like, budding is this street? Then I get I understand you don't want to put your roaming charges on? You know, I get it. What if you like, excuse me, where's where's Canal Street? You have a smartphone, you're holding it, turning your damn phone on and figure out where you are? Why is anyone lost in because if they're from a different country, they might not understand that that that are covered that do you not listen to? Okay, if I'm in fans, everything is rude. I ruined the day. Yeah, but I'm saying, if you walk up to me, excuse me with Canal Street. I don't know where in the world as someone say, excuse me, wass Canal Street except America. Even Canadians would be like it was call street a. I'm saying, if you're an American and you're holding a phone, I don't what if their phone is dead, the screen was on, I saw it. I wouldn't rant if the screen was off. Come on, I'm not an animal. Yeah, that's my mini, my mini complaint for the week. Does you have a phoney? Put your phone one? Someone someone destroyed the sign of Canal and it's always okay, I gotta post a picture. There's a place not far from It's far from my house, but it's I think it's funny. It's it's if you're gonna do graffiti for like making jokes like that, I'm all for it. Cover the sea like black out the sea in Canal I'll show you. I have a folder here. I keep the goofy humor pictures on my love that. Yeah, look, nob read the name of this discount liquor store, Joe Canals discount. I'm gonna shop out that sea and that's gonna be Joe Anal's discount because I'm twelve years old. Yeah, and I have to go set the thermostat the degrees because yeah, it's it's seventy. That's that's so bizarre. That's like you do me. I owe you one. Yeah, like when we whenever I started I start the podcast, I always said it to sixty two. Now, A couple of people tweeted me because they're either they're either they're way behind or they remember everything we say. Right, I will go with the ladder, And they said, oh, you haven't mentioned the problem you had at the dry cleaners. You haven't mentioned you you haven't updated Buffalo Wild Wing story, and you haven't talked about your You Connect radio. What are you gonna get to those like they don't let me skip a beat, they can't. I don't miss anything. We were supposed to do two podcasts today, an issue one next week, but that ain't happening because you're you're going away. I'm going away. Yeah, I'm not going away. I'm taking a Well, what are you doing for for vacation? I told you I may go to just like go to the mountains for a hotel for a couple of days. You yourself. Yeah, I know. Well because all my all my other friends are working, my wife's working, my kids are in school. This is an Elvis Durand vacation. This is one of those where Elvis says we're taking off every three months or so. We're gonna take off in February. Right, I'm like, all right, but I have kids. I can't go away. Well, if you want, once, you come with us to can't Cooon. I can't get a plane in the hotel. Tickets to Can't Cooon on the moments, by the moment, ticket to me through the roof. I'm going to Miami tomorrow. They're having the South Beach Food and Wine Festival. You should join me. Okay, I'm not invited to that. And how much would a ticket to Miami be if I by it today? I don't know. Maybe we can find something on sale. Oh, I will tell you though. The hotel I'm staying it, they offer continental breakfast oh, big fucking deal. Right. So I saw this and at first I'm like, oh, breakfast comes with it, But then I'm thinking, like, wait a second, where were you when you first learned that continental breakfast is not breakfast? I'll tell you what I thought it was, and you'll understand this immediately when you hear a continental exactly where you're going. Okay, First of all, you think of two things you think of, like an international, right, a continental when you're like, oh, like there's a song called the Continental, it's about this fancy hotel, right, or the car a Lincoln Continental is a fancy, big car, Like wow, I wish I could afford that. My parents never could afford. Continental. Continental means maybe different cultures in different continent like spices, right, food of continents, but it actually means like your continent, like bread? So what was your contin like you? Like you included with your room is a continentary continental breakfast for syllables, continental complementary continental breakfast. Okay, we're going to explain what that means. If you, at this second don't know what that means, tweet us that you didn't know what it means. We will not judge you because we didn't know until we were older, you know, and we were adults. It took me. It took me several years to figure that out. And that now the answer, Go ahead, what was it? It means pay trees, doughnuts and bagels if you look, and coffee and maybe miniature boxes of cereal. That's right. But it's continental breakfast. It's all carbs, it's all bread. It's all cheap. You're not getting anything. You're not getting eggs, right, You're not getting no sausage, no links or patties neither. You get none of it. By the way, I like both patties and links. You're not getting crepes, no Continental breakfast. Blints, but my tribe tribe blinds. No, they're fucking you're on the fruit. No fruit, you get none of it. You get all the things that you can imagine would be in a breakfast. You do get fruit if you get those little round danishes with a little bit of yellow jelly fruit. By the way, the jelly fruit. You don't like that. No, it looks like an old woman like laying and I can't even I just nasty, you know what it is. It's like you don't even know what it's not fruit. It might be fruit by product, it's not. It's it's definitely loaded with sugar. It's it's pure crap. It's high fruit. Those corn syrup, that's fruit. And it's it's oh it's fruit filled. That's not fruit. So continental breakfast is not breakfast. So but but it's a fancy thing to throw in as an amenity. I will tell you it does look good on the hotel. It might make you choose that hotel over this hotel. Okay, I'll tell you what's worse than continental breakfast. My wife and I went on a honeymoon is a long time ago, to an international city. We went to Switzerland, now Switzerland. We landed in Zurich, which is like the big Bit. It's like landing in Wall Street. It's all banks. It's very international. It's not like people. It's not you go there. It's not like. It's not as touristy as you would think. But we landed there, and then we went to all the really cool towns. But Zurich is kind of like an ugly banking town. But the hotel says it said, it's Zurich is German. Switzerland's interesting. If they looked at a map. In World War Two, they were neutral. It's always the joke. Switzerland's neutral. They surrounded by Germany, Italy and France. So depending on where in Switzerland you go and what country it borders. That's the accent they have and the style of food they have. So if you go there, it's like going to three countries. This French Italian offer you free breakfast. They offered us international breakfast. That sounds even better, complimentary international breakfast. I'm thinking, okay, we're gonna have some German food. We have some Italian breakfast right well, and I'm gonna have some French pastries. This god be great Swiss. I'm like, I made a joke. I'm like, maybe we'll get some Swiss. Miss What did you get? We got um some crappy rolls and some new Telesprit. Okay, there's something about Europe. When I went to Italy, same ship, I went there and I they said breakfast was included. It was. It was, Seriously, it was espresso and a croissant with new telling. That was it. I heard that some of those countries, or a lot of them, are not big on breakfast. They don't do breakfast the way they do it in America. You can't walk in and get a rudy tooty, fresh and fruity. They don't have eggs over Miami. They don't have Denny's Grand Slams. They don't have anything smothered and covered. They don't have it like waffle house. Nope, no, they don't do that overseas. Can I get hash browns and sausage and eggs and no? Oh my god, I'm salivating. How do Europeans live in Europe? I'd like to know the same, By the way, that's a hashtag. How do Europeans live in Europe? They don't. Bathrooms are shitty, no pun intended. The elevators are all like a closet that goes up and down. And they don't give good breakfast. No, they don't need people smoke on the busses. But if you go to Belgium America, do you expect waffles? Love this country Belgian waffles, Belgian waffles. So you get waffles for breakfast or is that a dessert? No? When we I'll tell you what. We got Belgian waffles in Switzerland that were fantastic in montro but it wasn't for breakfast. I haven't been to Belgium. No, there was like a crepe they've crepe makers on the paths. But but why don't Why don't these countries a showcase their feature breakfast as breakfast food. I think why they don't have They don't have as many fat people as we prob that's like like, wow, I look at at a time girl, she's hot. You're like, no, it's not even big breakfast. But the breakfast is the most important meal of the day to hear the news. But maybe maybe you tell on a croissant is important. Maybe like a continental breakfast is helping. Yes, so don't get fooled by the international continental. I want buffet breakfast. It's gotta say buffet. I want to take a big spoon and go pop on my plate of something. I want to go back for a second. I want to put too much of three or four things on my plate. I want eggs five ways. I want enough leftovers on my buffet plate that it looks like a plate which just served to me at a regular restaurant. Damn straight. I want to feel like I'm at someone else's wedding or butt mitzvah. I want that just with the guy with the two pans that take ten minutes to do one egg right, but it's so freaking good. It's better than the freaking eggs that are sitting in the water. He is another thing I want if you're at a buffet, at a restaurant, and you are anywhere in this country south of Delaware, I want a damn sign that says whether it's mashed potatoes or grits, because if you go digging in thing and it's mashed potatoes and put that in your mouth, I'm sorry. If you weren't raised on grits. Grits tastes like shit. You like grits, I don't mean to offend you. God bless you enjoy your grits. Grits at all. I don't think I've ever had grits. They look like mashed potatoes in disguise. They look like mashed potatoes, maybe a little pepper in it. And you're like, right now, someone's going son, you don't know it. You pull a butter on it. Let me tell something. If you have to tell me the seventeen things you have to put on something to taste it, to make it taste good, I don't want it that's like if I say to you, and if you if you Jewish, like like, oh, bozza bazza. You can put um mozzarell on tomatoes. You could put peanut butter on your mazza. You could put jelly and cream cheese on your moud eat it out of the box and call me it's shit. I'm Jewish. I'm saying mazza is crap grits. You're like, oh, you put maple syrup in it. You push, You're really you really appreciating the taste of the things that you're saying. If you go to shown he's on the turnpike and you're like, oh, sausage and bacon and eggs. Oh, they've got little mashed potatoes. It's not mashed potatoes. That should be a sign there that says it's grets. Grets rives with ships. And I'm not short what the difference is. And that's what it gives me. What about oatmeal? Oatmeal and farina farina growing and I'm had farina. I'm telling you why I don't eat farina. And it's gonna aige you me a little bit. But it's because of a little rascals. Buck wheat and Farina with had two kids. There had two black kids on the show, and I always thought of Farina, is that kid like I don't want to eat and eat that. I don't think. I thought Farina was. I liked it. No, Farina sounds like old people food. Enough like my grandfather ate old like he would eat Farina and melbot with melbot toast, you know he Yeah, he eat melvot toast out of the little packages and then he ate something again. He was he was Jewish. But it's uh, you know Borshed is you I've heard the bored belt that's with the the cat scales where all those comedy people like Checky Green. I don't know what people in the two thousands eat. That someday will be old people food. Someday maybe people will stop eating avocado toast because it's old people food. But there's food from the sixties and fifties and forties that your grandfather ate, your grandmother ate a food. Yeah, So Borshed b O r s ht. I believe Borshed is licked. Get okay, I'm gonna tell you, hold on, hold on. You might want, you might want if you if you're Jewish, you might know, you might if you're not Jewish, you want to be sitting down for this. You ready, Borshed is liquefied beat juice. It's like purple beat juice. It's right, Why is that? Why would anyone choose to ingest ever? And so we thought that was a good idea. And then what you do is you put like scoops to sala cream in it, like sala cream and bors and like, okay, salur cream takes on the red and it turns into like a it's like a yogurt, like a pink super like a pink suit. I gotta stop. Scrubbed. Everybody scrubbed thirty seconds past this. This is terrible everyway. So my point is back in the day, that was a big food. When when when our ancestors came from Russia, they brought that with them, right, like your family, your grandparents brought tripe, Right, what's tripe? Tripe is the the lining of a cow's stomach. And they ate sweetbreads, right, and pig sknockles brains. Yeah, right, sweetbreads is cab brains. I'm saying, brains, calves, brains. All grandparents and our great grandparents ate stuff in the old country that they ate here, we have some kids ate it. But then at some point we were like, nope. I had relatives that used to cook a lamb's head called gob its cell. It's the head of a fucking lamb that they cook and they roast and they pick at it. I'm like, come on, people, we can afford to eat the other parts of the lamb. We can stare. I have a food. Stare back at me picking at its skull. Right, Oh, pass me some ear. Oh that's my father, forget it. He likes the ear. Oh my god. Also, holidays for Christmas, they make they make pigs ears, they make pigs knuckles. I said that thirty seconds ago. I missed it because I was okay, scrub thirty seconds back scary and the second, hold on, let me do that. Holy ship, you did say that. I'm back. We're back to the future. Just we just did the whole time lapsing. By the way, if anyone asks if we planned this, we don't like any of this, so so so tweets. I just went back to get some knowledge. I saw that tweet us. We're asking you guys to tweet a lot. By the way, I do have a rule on the show. We talked about this. It's the three days after this is put up. You can't correct us. Like, if you listen to this a month from now, we're like, oh, you spelled boor strong. I don't care anymore, right, but if you think of something like somebody tweeted me on my Walkers and Talkers podcast and they said, hey, I have a aria from six episodes ago. What do you think of blah blah blah. And they're like, is that okay because it's an old episode. I said no, no, no, you could ask questions. You could, so we got I got tweeted yesterday, Hey, I'm catching up Scaries Box. Remember the one we get really long? We say, hey, if you're still listening, tweets Scariest Box. I love seeing Scaries Box. That means people are listening to the end. By the way, I do not like seeing Scaries Box. I just want to go on the record. That's fine. So I want you to tell us what you think is current food. That's someday your kids and grandkids will go, Ma, dad, how did you eat that? What were you doing eating? You know? Uh? Alvocado toast is a good example because it's a fad what about keene was? I think keen like match a tea, Like when you're somebody's grandmother, Like I'm gonna have some matcha tea. Your grandkids gonna go Grandma. That's oh, Grandma's drinking that match a tea Again, Keene is gonna be on there? Yeah, was like a thing. And kale kale. You know when when you and I used to work in restaurants, you know what kale was? When you would you know what a salad ball we have this? Let me get is it the garnish the right you would get cases of kale. And you know when you go to a salad ball like a beefsteak Charlie's or Charlie Brown Charlie Brown's where they have these like um maroon or brown cylinders with dressings with the ladle of dressing and they have the croutons and you go around the little salad ball, around the buckets the rim rim rim on the rim rim where the buckets slide into. Some places covered that with ice, but some places have like a green leafy garnish that was kale. Back in the day, it was so shitty and cheap that you didn't eat it. You just put it around ship. You didn't need it. I know, are we talking? Are people cultivating the same kind of kale? What do you think? It's new age kale? Like these different kinds of marijuana. You're like, I want the cush. I don't want to I want the MAUI wow, I want the crippie want. I want the good kale. The good kale is five dollars more than the bad kale. It's the same ship. It's maybe kale. I just thought maybe they just irrigated. They they raised it in kale farms or something, the current kale, and it's different from the kale that you used to use his decoration. I wish I had invested in a kale farm. I remember one time we were out at a lettuce and we need to make salad, and the restaurants working at I said, oh, why don't we use the created kale. Let's says kale lettuce on it. And my manager at the time, when I wasn't a manager like that. Don't eat that ship. That's garnish. That's like the parsley of lettuce. You know what that is. It's salions. It's the scallon of lettuce. That's what kale is. And now people like, oh, kale chips and kale is what you're gonna be eating when you're a grandmother and your grandkids are like my grandma, You're in kale. We don't need care. That's like the scalleon a lettuce fun kale far. I'm ahead of the curve on kale. I'm telling you. Now, you keep your Mancha tea and your keywa and your kale, and you're bushed and your lamb's head. Well, the way we went to a wedding, do you remember the wedding we went to where they had they had whaig Like, okay, so the pig don't okay? You know when you're okay, okay, I forgot about okay. You know when you go to a wedding and is that guy whose job it is is to cut you the smallest piece of brisket or a steak, the smallest piece of ham or turkey. He's the carving guy. Right, He's not a chef. He's the guy who got stuck carving, right because he got promoted from dishwasher. Now he's the carver guy. Hey man, what do you do for a living? I'm carver guy. You mean a girl at a bar. What do you do? Oh, I'm an account executive at IF firm. I go, what do you do? I'm carver guy. I slice meat at His job is to cut the meat and put it on a on a fucking crouton. He gives you a little little that you go about. You can I have a second one? And they roll their eyes at you. You want more? Yes? Please? Yes, sir? Can I have some more? Like you're like Oliver like Oliver twist? Yes, sir, I'd like some more brisket because because you're the carving guy and it's no behind me than me that look like if I give you more, I have to give everyone aline more. You know what? Good everyone else? It's America. So I'm buying brisket. So so he had a pig, an entire pig. So so a carver guy is cutting the side off and the butt and the thigh off a full pig. But the best part is towards three quarters of the way through the party, ju leaves. He leaves, and the heads there just sitting and the spine. I'm gonn gross anybody out. It's the head of a roasted freaking pigs, right, and so our buddy j J say his name, there goes. He just takes the head off of the buffet and starts walking around taking selfie's with it. Right. No, he was putting in front of his own head. And I'm pig back. So we all got to pose with a pig. Now. They had a photo booth right where you can take props and put hats on and glasses and you would like a boa. You've all been to these with the photo photo. Both dressed it up a fun photo booth. Guys with the glass hat right in the monica look at me, mom, Cleopatra. So we were posing, right, we put the glasses. But oh dude, I put that. I put that picture on Instagram, I know, and I got railed by some listeners. I know I did too. People started screaming at me on on and started on following me on Instagram. Hold on, hold on, while we're talking about that, don't follow us on the podcast. We didn't kill the animal, we didn't take the head. We're just saying it was a funny, and it was funny. It was in the moment. I am not a fan of a lot of things. I just it was a funny thing that the guy took that. It was just strange that we got the carver guy was carving. It's got less money take to take those pots. I was having a conversation with you, Brodie, and then I turned around and there's a pighead sitting on the table. You know. So we just like it was like a Mafia movie, like when the horse heads in the bed. It was a spoiler. Yeah, okay, so I think it's time. It's time. Yeah, it's unused punch lines. It was the things that we we're trying to get as jokes on the show because Elvis on the Big Show has a lot of stuff in front of him, and sometimes he does a story and doesn't use the jokes. That mainly was sometimes I write them and they should not be read. Now you have to. I had to, but I only remember one. Okay now, somebody killed him at the Live and Acquired Taste podcast and said, I really liked when you did the punchlines and didn't tell us what the setup was. I don't like it that way. I feel like it's funny, but I want to tell you to set up you got so I have like a dozen here. I'm gonna just do the first six and save the other ones for next next podcast. Today, we were talking about how the weather in New York was so nice yesterday was seventy five degrees. How you had your top down on your car. You have a convertible top down and uh. Danielle was like, oh, I'm so jealous. So I wrote, well, Danielle had our top down also, but she wasn't in a car. He didn't want to do that. Okay, I could see that sexist this one. He didn't. He didn't get this one. We were talking about, Um, there's a Chinese delivery guy in New York who was following his navigation system. And by the way, small pet peeve, I'm gonna sidetrack for a second. In your car, you have a navigation system. You have a nav system that uses GPS, severally GPS system a nav system that uses GPS. GPS means Global Positioning systems. Right, it has GPS. It isn't a GPS. Correct. Okay, So the guy's using uh, he's using his navigation system and he goes into the Lincoln Tunnel, which is a massive tunnel in New York which you are not allowed to ride your bike in delivery guys on his bike delivering Chinese food, okay, and so he got in trouble for it, and he got he get arrested for it. So I so I said, now I have a joke with that, but I'm saying the joke for last. But I said, Elvis, let's do that as a topic. When is your navigation system taking you the wrong way and it's screwed you over? And I've had my nav tell me to take a left turn when it's a one way street the wrong way. So so this one guy calls up on says, I was on this road in in Greece, on a on a cliff, and the navigation system told me to make it left. Had I listened, that would have driven right off the cliff. So my joke was, which Elvis did not, I wrote it too quickly. Whatever he The joke was, who was the voice of your navigation system, Thelma, oh Louise because they drove off a cliff spoiler Thumber Louise drive off a cliff agend of the movie. Today, Daniel was talking about how she had told this one time she had puffy eyes. That wasn't a joke, by the way, that I wanted to say for last. I think you're going to save that joke from She was talking about puffy eyes and puffy eyes, and then she says, oh, puffy eyes. He's he's doing the morning show here, right, So I said, so My joke was, yeah, but he now goes by the name did Eyes. Didn't get to it. A woman, Uh, we're talking about um. A woman who makes food for a church, for shuttings. She makes food for people who can't leave their house. And she made chicken pond for this woman, her famous chicken palm resci beven this old lady, and the lady died. They found her body the next morning. So I said, it wasn't chicken palm, it was chicken harm. We were talking about the Olympics and snowboarding, and Elvis says, oh god, le's watching Olympics last night. I love the half pipe. So I wrote, yeah, but you prefer the full pipe. Hey didn't get to that. Now here's the joke that I wrote for him, which he said to me, I'll say, what of yours? Well, yeah, because you guys is a thousand times better than well, So you do your one, Joe. It's just quick this is something I gave to him. Someone was calling in about pasta fazul, but he called it pasta fazioli. That is what is pasta faz It's it's that macaroni soup. It's pronounced posta fael postafaol and it's f a g i O r tell i. So I was trying to have Elvis say pasta faioli l v a g g i O l i is that something kind of disease and he didn't get to it because it was filthy. Had the word vagin it, what's that? But it was was Oh, that was the joke. Yeah, sorry, shut up man. Okay, So so here's the joke. I put all the jokes that I wrote for Elvis this week he did for the record, okay, for the record, for the record. Some of them he didn't get to. Whatever. So here's the one. He looked at me laugh sometimes you guys here, I was right, here's one. He went, this is the best one. Now. I was dying the second I saw you right it. I said, this is gonna end up on the podcast. Yeah, podcast, And if Elvis went to commercial, Alice went podcast, all right, I'm gonna set this up again. It was the Chinese delivery guy who made a wrong turn. He went to he went, he made, he left into the Lincoln Tunnel. And again, don't be offended. It's all in good fun. I said he went the long way, with the long way into the right right now. The funny part is or the ironic part, it's not even ironic. It's not ironically who said that his name? Coincidentally, as to the famous person, his name is Bruce Lee, not the karate guy. Oh wow, I didn't know that was his name. Is That guy's dead and since the seventies. All right, So I have a bone to pick with you. I have a bone to pick with the wing place who sucked me over on Super Bowl Sunday. And everybody knows about my problem with the radio in my car because I've been I was tweeting about it for days. So I feel like I want to pick on you though a little bit. I want to call you out. You can if you want. So. I want to apologize to the people that ask me what are you gonna do? What a you're gonna do? I am not going to do that. You connect rant today or the dry cleaning or the dry cleaning thing. But I am going to do the calling scary out on something. Uh, and then I may get to one other thing. We have email. Oh, I have an email too. I have an email, so I want to talk. It's a mini rant. I'm walking out of the lobby and this girl who I don't know. We'll call her Stacy. Yeah, that's Stacy. She's got her phone in her hand. She sees me, and the revolving door is moving really slow from whoever got out of it last. And I I'm a gentleman, and I let her go first. She goes into the portal and stops, look and looks at her phone. And I can't be halfway through a revolving door. So you can't even get into the next slot. Well, I can get into that slot because his four sides. But you can't get in. You can't get in. She is directly on the right of the four triangles. Yeah, but you can't push the push the glass. Oh no, I can push her. I can walk into my slot right. So she stands there knowing that I'm getting in behind her because I let her go first. So sure her hands aren't on the door, her hands are looking at her fucking Instagram ram right, And now she's staying like, oh, Mr gentleman, I don't have to move my hands on my feet because this guy's gonna push the door for me while I'm looking at my Instagram account. Well, guess what, Stacy, I'm not pushing your lazy ash so you can look at Instagram. You're supposed to push the door, and I'm supposed to get your tail wind behind you and glade on through. That's right, I let you go for giving a little help of a push. Keep that door pushing everybody. It's like road road road your boat. But you bitch, Stacy stands there like it's my job to push my quarter and hardcore, and so I stand behind her for a good seven or eight seconds with a look on my face that says, fuck you, Stacy. Stacy doesn't turn around. Stacy's looking at her Instagram. She's lost in her phone. She's scrolling and scrolling. You know what she's trying to do. She's trying to launch the boomerang park and do a little boomerang of the revolving door. The boomerang is not gonna puomeranguse I'm not booming it. It's not ranging. So finally some guy starts walking towards the front end from outside. He's got the fourth quarter. I'm directly across from him. Now he stops. He thinks maybe the door is broken because Stacy's not pushing the door. I'm staring at Stacy like fuck you Stacy. Now he's looking at the door. Gun, Uh, it's broken. Should I go around? It's like, should I go to the door door? Because the door doors to his right, it's a heavy door. Nobody wants to open it. It's like, you're the loser. Go through the door door. There's a revolving door. So he's supposed to use at all four slots are filled up. That's kind of rare that all fours. It was just and Stacy. But the third guy kill No, he's looking now should I get in? He looks at Stacy. Stacy's looking at Instagram. He's in a funk. He's in no sorry to go anywhere? Right, So he looks at me and I look at so I look at him and I go fucking Stacy. So he looks at me like what the fun is wrong with her? I don't know. So he does like push hands he does, did you push like, is it stuck. I don't I'm not pushing her. I pulled. I go, I go, like I do phone thing. I go. She looked at her phone, so he goes, hey, she doesn't hear it. So I stand there and like, I go like this on the glass. She jumps and turns around. Now this is like fifteen seconds. She turns around and looks at me like, why why aren't you pushing? Why did I pushing? The rule is the person in the front has to do the pushing. The person coming behind gets the tail wind and gets to glide a gentleman. No, I don't admit I was a gentleman by letting Hell go first, right, yes, yes, now I could have gone first and done the pushing. But I was like, no, well that would have been considered even more. But then I would have sued me like, oh, he's going first. So I was like, she'll go first, and I'll assist. I'll give her a little push. If she had pushed, I would have pushed. But if you would have win it first and pushed and she would have stopped, the would have hit right. And I but you know what, when you get out, you go, hey, have a nice day. He gave me the old Hey, we shared a moment. Let me guess that dick exchange didn't happen. Didn't happen. So the guy goes, I go come in, so he pushes. So you know what, I got a free push out of it because he walked in. She sees him. Finally he pushes. I'm like, I can't push. I pretend like I tried. He pushes. The door goes flying, and now I assist and she walks out and I'm like, thanks, I give her. I give her the thanks, you know that thanks you get people when you open the door for them. They don't say thank you, You're like thanks. I get with the thanks thanks. And she doesn't know knowledge it because she doesn't know I'm man at her. And now she thinks I got my way that I pushed her. I didn't push her. So you know what, if you're listening, Stacy, fuck you, Stacy. Now you agree I was a gentleman that saying yes in that case, you were. I don't think there's really let's flash back now, shall we. Let's flash back to the night of the An Acquired Taste podcast. I came to your house. You after that parking sign fiasco I posted about. You're like, come in, we'll meet you downstairs. I said, okay, I have a revolving door in my lobby. Huh, so I I take pictures in the street sign. Listen to the episodes in order, you know why, and it's on Instagram. And I took my own sweet time giving you a chance to come downstairs. I walk across the street, up a little bit of a block into your circular driveway and I come into the lobby with his chairs. I sit down. I tell the doorman I'm here to see you. No problem, because you know you have a dorman in the lobby. I'm waiting a good three minutes now. You knew I was meeting in the lobby. You're in no hurry, It's fine, you come down. You're a good four feet ahead of your girlfriend. You're walking ahead of her, not with her, you're walking ahead of her. I have a terrible tendency to walk faster than everybody. I mean, I don't never. I never walked side by side with people. Bad habit, and I gotta stop that. So you come down. You're like, hey, bron he's gone. Not sorry to keep you waiting. Whatever that's fine, I get up. Hey, scary, and then the robbing Your girlfriend comes a good three minutes later. That's how ahead of her you are. She comes by in a separate elevator car elevator. So I'm like, hey, Robin, how's it going. Oh? She kiss on the cheek. Hello you beautiful, look great, tonight, wonderful. At this point, we all started walking towards the revolving door. You cut Robin off and go boom right into the revolving door because in mind, because in my world, because you saw the uber, you're like uber boom right through. In my world, it's just as chivalrous to go first in a revolving door situation and do the pushing, because you even said the front person is the pusher, the second one is the glider. You was so far ahead of her that you went in and out and through and will buy the uber before she got to the door to enjoy the glide. It was not gliding anymore, So I said, Robin, after you and I didn't let her be stacy. She put her hands on the door, and I pushed the door, and I gentlemen her. And then then then you double played it. You double dipped, you got to the Uber, you looked at your phone, you confirmed it's the Uber. You opened the door for her. You had her slide over across the car, because ladies, first, you can't have it both ways. No, you let her in and then you walk around. You had her slide across the car. And then I said to you, the fucking that car and I made you drive bitch in the middle, and I got in after her. But wait a second, ladies first, yes, and then you walk around, but she slid You said you can't have both. But but then in the in the swinging door situation, you're saying yeah, but you're saying that she should have gone first. So either she goes first. I'm saying, either she goes first and you push for her if she's not looking at her phone and stopping still waiting for it, or you say, come on something. He said, I got it. And then you go in at a good speed. Different rules. Don't you go in good speed so that she's clearly behind you and walks in with you and gets the wave. You went flying through that thing like you were in an obstacle course to get to the car. And then I was like Robin, allow me and I let her go first, and I helped with the pushy You just don't I think you made a slide over. I didn't make her slide. She slid. Had she not slid, I would have been like, okay, I'll go around. You know what, it's a history, a lifetime of sliding. When was the last time you let her in and went around? First? Of all, I'm twice her size. I can't slide, okay, but you can let her in and go around. You could, but you've never done it. She's never known the gentleman, the move of you. Sit there, Robin, I'll go around. You think about this, all right? So maybe I should do that from now on. Yeah? Or I should walk her around the car. You don't. Yes, No, you don't walk herround the car. You let's sit down. No, you don't deserve a woman like Robin. You know who you deserve. You deserve Stacy. Fuck you, Stacy. You should go. It's scary because then you would have pushed that door and she could have run in behind you. Maybe they have a brutal on me today. I'm just saying, Oh, get my mother on the phone. She'll rip you for that. I don't even want to revolving door and making her slide over Bush. Hold on, don't listen. Remember a couple of weeks ago, Fuck you Agnes. That girl, some girl named Agnes was like I felt so bad. He was like saying fun you to me. I'm sorry. I know it's a lot of Stacy's listening. Fuck you, Stacy. Not you're listening. Wow, I don't even know her name. I'm just saying, stay with an e Y or Stacy with a y, Stacy with I'm gonna go with a Y because she's gotta be different. She's gotta be that girl. I can't buy a license plate with her name on it or a key chain. I gotta be different. Like Cheyenne. Oh, my waitress, Cheyenne it out back manager, sweet woman, sweet woman. But her mom named her Cheyenne. How do you think she spells it? C h e y n n e o e y e nn. My mother says, that's a beautiful name. How do you spell it? And she says, s h y n a n n E dare to be different, s h y because my mother wanted to be different. Okay, that's basic. Now, you can't buy anything with your name on you gotta custom make and pay twice as much online. You can't think of that when she named you, So I found so I did something over the weekend when I was out in Los Angeles. I went to l A this weekend. Yeah, and uh, that's a whole yeah, but I wanted to tell you about it real quick, and let me tell you about this great time I had it out your ahead this hotel. No, no, you'll be proud of me on this one. And I talked about this very briefly on the Big Show, but we didn't elaborate on it. When you go to the hotel and they have those little water bottles there, but they're the ones with the little cardboard little little pieces coming hanging down with a little ring over the uh the now ring over the head of the water bottle that says, you know, eavy on water. Yeah, they have they clearly. The price is clearly marked by like a cardboard piece that goes over the water. Because if you uncover it, then you pick it up and you drink it, you paid for it. How is this one of those refrigerators that has weights in you if you move it, they charge you right away. No, No, these are just three bottles of water to six dollar ones half Leaders and one big one for ten dollars. Oh, you get the big dollar discount on the full Leader. Three bottles sitting there on the nightstand waiting for you to just like reach over and grab it and drink it. During the course of my stay, I got thirsty, so I drank all three of them. Now that's how much ten? Right? So I'm thinking halfway to my trip, I'm like, funk man, I don't want dollars at it to my bill for water? So what do I do? Who was walking down Hollywood Boulevard? I saw a CVS. I walked into the CVS. They had the same exact bottles of Evan and the same sizes. So what is scary Jones do? He pulled the David Brody. He went to go buy the two bottles of the half Leader and the one Leader bottle like a dollar fifty nine each, and the large bottle was like to something for like seven bucks. I went and I went back to my hotel room, and I put the line the bottles up the way they were in a triangle format, and I took the original pieces of cardboard with the ring around and I placed them over the bottles, No harm, no foul. Now is there a problem with anything I did? No, except you did. Forget one thing. What's that you buy a couple of extra large bottles and then you tell the guy in the next room you give it to him for five bucks? Yeah, there is that. But I mean, is that clever or because I think everyone should do that as long as it's not being monitored by But you talked about earlier where you have to if you lift it up against Sometimes the candy bars are regular sizes. They're like restaurants sizes. Like if you try, especially if you go to other countries, they have other sizes, so they fuck you. But like if it's America, Mirka, you can do that with soda cans. I've done that with soda cans and there's nothing wrong with it. If anything, they owe me free dessert because I'm freshening up their water supply's been sitting there. I just give you fresh for one dollars a bottles probably been sitting there. Here's what I'll tell I'll tell you the secret. You know how when we travel sometimes and you're like we travel like three days and you you take a carry on luggage you're like, BROI why you taking a big bag and white taking a suitcase for Oh, I gotta check the bag out of my hate check baggage, man, I don't think what can on the plane will go off the plane with my ship. You know why I check my luggage? Why one word? Bitch? Sodas? You pack sodas in that. I load that ship up with six packs of diet coke and diet pepsi bottle, And then I get to the hotel, I take all this ship out of the fridge. I throw my soda bottles in when I go back to the room. Soda when we go to other countries, Soda when when you go to countries that have coke? Light like diet coke? Bitch, no ice, no ice? Wow, I didn't know. That's why you check bag? What happens when the bag feeds a twenty five bucks that far outweighs the cost of the I'm a pro at it forty nine point nine nine pounds. No, but when you check baggage, now it's twenty five dollars, no matter how one much it wass right, So I load that ship up. It's twenty five dollars. Though you pay it. I don't pay for a carry on, hold on, hold on, it's twenty five dollars on a shitty air line. Second of all, most of the time we travel, the company's paying for it. I can pay for the first bag. I don't travel that much, you know me, all right, And I've missed to fly around like doesn't wait for you at the baggage claim and you have to hope the bag while you're waiting for me to get my luggage. Go buy some bottles of water. Exactly. Anyway, there a little shortcut. I thought you'd be proud of me on that thought, like, I'm like, this is something Brody would do. Yeah, you want some email? What do you want to do here? I got email and got you know what I got? All right. I can't ran about my radio. That's a long story, and the wing story is a long story. And I feel like we're gonna save those. I promise when we come back we'll do those. But one of those has a it's not a surprise ending. It's not the ups rant, which, by the way, you should have heard by now if you listen in order. I can't stress that enough. But this one I outdid myself on I did myself. I doubled dip. I want to hear about doubled it. All right, so and pretty soon in the next episode, by the way, I want to talk about the scary handicap. Oh, this is hilarious. It's not something that maybe one of the funniest things I've heard, because it's a true story, and I get it because I've seen you in this activity. I get it. We're gonna call it the scary handicap. There's nothing, there's nothing it's sensive about. It's like a golf handicap of bowling handicap. It's a scoring mechanism, right, it's not making fun anybody's handicap. We don't do that. That sounds like, okay, welcome before you got mail? Well you're the email. I have an A O L Mini rant that I will also have for next time, next episode. But that's the A Well, you've got mail, and I've got I've got a little bit of it I got I'm gonna before. Why don't you just do it right now? All right? All right, all right, fine, I use A O L. I don't give a ship. Does it work? Is it an email address? Who made that law? A O L is not borshed a o L is not some old food. It's just an email server I used a long time ago. I use. It's not my work email, it's one of my accounts. Okay, So about six months ago they got rid of instant Messenger, right, I don't use a Well is my browser. I just use it to get email because it allows me because it's its own software. So I keep my my crap personal email there and all my work email is Gmail and Outlook and professional stuff. So six months ago they got rid of aim an instant Messenger. Then like three month ago, I get an email everyone with a wel desktop software. By the way, when you sign onto a Well desktop software, you get news alerts and trending topics, all kinds of things I get used for the show. It's a great resource for the show. They have a great news department. So I sign on and they say a Well desktop software will stop working as of I don't know December fifteenth, whatever the date was, what and were switching to a Well desktop gold. Oh Gold sounds fancy, keep reading, which will be five a month or something. I'm not paying for a Well since the nine we used to pay for a Well and have like three bills because you paid for every minute. So I'm like, all right, I understand the cost of doing I get it. I totally get it. Hi, So I call a O L. I give them a little spiel. I love a well longtime customer. They give me a I work here. They give me a little courtesy, and they say, we're not gonna charge you. We'll give you a free download enjoy the new software. So I get download of the new software, the new software, the new improved, super duper new AOL software. It's like I went back to Windows. Everything they change is wrong. You know how you are said about Snapchat? They updated it and they screwed it. That was the other thing I wanted to talk about. We didn't get too gad don't update my software. Update means it's better. Update means somebody used it and said this is an improvement. It will make the lives of the user better. Who said the new Snapchat was better? Nobody. Who said the new AOL was better? Nobody? They changed don't got upton for an update. They changed the email window, they changed the layout. They changed there's no preview window when you chalk email. They changed everything. This is what people are going through with snapchat right now, don't update that. I don't want your new algorithms. I don't want my Instagram in the order you think I wanted in. I want my Facebook feed in recent. I don't want it in popular. And they can't. You can't. You know, on Facebook, you can't set it to stay unrecent. You can, you can click recent, but the minute you come back, it's back on favorite. You know who's sending snapchat at thank you card today Instagram? Because yeah, people are gravitating too into stories even what I'm telling you, remember we used to use vine. Oh six seconds? How much fun is six seconds? Six seconds? Instagram said, how about fifteen seconds? What vine? Booty Vine? How hot is that? It's like, it's like when there was I forget what show it was. Damn it, you guys will remember, I'll know, you know, have to tweet me. I get it. It was a show like six second abs. I forget what show it was. It was a committ comedy show and the guy was like, I'm gonna do five second abs. That's better, right, Just take anything you want, make it better. If I had a Twitter and I made a dte characters, people would switch to it. So but Twitter did it to themselves. They're like, you know what, we better double it too eighty because otherwise Instagram was gonna double it and you'd be fun Twitter exactly. So Instagram is like fifteen seconds, goodbye volume. But but while we're on the snapchat topic, um, it's it's it's I know you're not a snapchat fan, Brodie, but what they did. What they did is they jumbled up. They jumbled up. First of all, you you can't find your friends anymore because they give you an algorithm and they dictate to you who you're who is feeds you want to see in what order, and you have to actually search for your friends physically. It's tedious. You don't know who posted what when. And then and then they just put stuff in this arbitrary order. And then they mix up your private messages with with the text messages, with the stories, and it's if listeners an't texting me messages, it's all jumbled in there with other people's stories. I don't want to see they want to see. I want to see my message on one side, and I want to see my stories on the other in the order that I dictate them I want my hid side and my cool side cool the way McDonald's that Nick d lt back And you know who did that? Who did it? Really well? Snapchat don't undo it, undid what they did. Oh look, I'm gonna go. Look it's scary story. It's ESPN story, it's TMZ story, it's Mike story they started. There's one point two million people in a petition right now to get the old snapchat back. That's how awful it is. You know what it could be a ploy? You remember back in the day, A lot of people are gonna remember this Coke change their recipe might just had the mail bed just ran out and we didn't even start the mail Okay, Coke changed their recipe new Coke, right, they changed coke. Coke was a number one selling so it on the planet. They changed the recipe and it failed. People hated it. If it broke, don't fix it, so hold on. Then they brought it back. Then then like a year later, like all right, we're bringing back coke. They called a classic co Cala classic. They had new coke Coke cola classic, like wow, classic, and the people flocked to it. Gotta have the old flavor back. They missed it. They didn't have it for like six eight months. I gotta have it. Back then it was like so popular. Rid a new coke and went back. Co called Classic became coke. Don't even remember his co called Classic. I sounded Kevin Hart right now. Why don't sound like Kevin Hart because I'm talking like about a breath? Okay, alright, didn't even the Classic has been dropping. Its just coke again. I think Snapchat so that Instagram stories are getting popular, so they fucked over their own product. So you talk about it, and then they'll bring back Classic Snapchat. Everyone'll go back to it to see you go. Oh, old friends, I think it's a ploy. You think so yeah, you know what, Fuck you Instagram. Your logo still sucks. I'm not forgiving them for that. The new logo sucks. I want the camera logo back, the brown logo. On an Android phone, you could change the logo. I went back to the old logo. So fuck you. I got an Android. But fuck you Instagram, even though you're gonna beat Snapchat, Fuck you Snapchat, and you know what, fuck you Stacy. I didn't forget about your what about Agnes for good managine, fuck you Agnes I got my refund tu bucks. He charged me a hundred FU. You don't know who Agnes is. Listen to you, We're not listening her. You know I enjoyed this podcast. Do we even do? Mal Ma? Here's that music again? All right, Danielle Ziegler wrote to us. You can too. By the way, We're at the Brooklyn Boys podcast at gmail dot com. The subject is truffle Butter. Thanks guys, thank you. I had to google what that was. Now that joke that Elvis didn't take on the unused punch lines makes much more sense to me. You don't know what trouble butter is. Look it up, buck you you're listing on some kind of device where you can look it up Google. It got four of those in the text messages. What's this? What's that? Shout outs to people? We don't have time for all this? Shoutouts to Alex Maltman talking about his free dessert story at Panera Brea, ahead and read that. All right, here's one uh fan of two of you. Listen to the big show fifteen minutes, Brooklyn Boys. Let's go right to this year. I'm gonna I'm gonna cut right to the middle. Um, I decided to get lunch from Panera Bread because I have a gift card, so I placed a rapid order pick up. All I ordered was turkey chili with a side of baget and requested butter. I went to Panera and picked up my order and went back to work. When I got to my desk, I took out the chili and lots of butter, but no bag at. I then proceeded to call Pinera to let them know they left up my order. I knew, I knew that this may seem small, but the baggett was part of my lunch and it's the principle of this that counts. Uh. They spelled principal p r I n C I p a l No, it's principal p r I n C I p le sorry so sorry. Um. Anyway, they put me on hold for a manager and next thing I knew, they hanged up on me. Ouch hung up. Now I got more piste off and I can All I can think about is when David Brody and the free dessert thing. So I went to Panera's website complained about my recent experience about an hour ago. I received in response and they loaded a ten dollar reward to to my pinera card a k A. Thank you, David Brody write the book. I'll purchaed a copy and lastly, keep up these rants, both of you. I love it and I look forward to it weekly. That's from Alex. I got an email at my show account Brody at Elvis Duran dot com. By the way, you guys, thank you so much for valuing my information and my opinion as a resource. But slow down. I can't I can't help all of you with your free deserve problems. I'm trying, just you know, slow it a little bit, all right. By the way, if I say that whoever he is, it's gonna go, he doesn't mean me down, then I can slip mine end. All right. I got an email, and now I tell you about Cheyenne. This is an email from um. Her last name starts with an S, easy name. That doesn't matter what the last name is. Her first name is d I L L dil y n N. Now it looks like Dillion, or it could be Dillian, or it could be Dylan. I imagine it's Dylan, she writes. Tonight, my fiance tried to buy some dinner, but didn't want to use my coupons. First of all, all right, no use the coupons. She never likes to use coupons. That drives me nuts already, Dylan or Dillian, we agree. I hounded her until she used the coupons because I hate when anyone doesn't save money when they can, beautiful, love you. I bought some taco bell uh and something my fiance. Something my fiance ordered wasn't correct. She didn't want to go back, But after learning your lessons of free dessert, I knew what to do. I went back and told him what was wrong. They gave me replacement food, but I didn't settle for just that, even as not even I also got an extra bit of food from my troubles. Thank you, David Brody. I'm number one of the waiting lists for your book when it comes out. Hashtag Brody and scary Okay, I agree with everything that last. Patrick Mullen l a and thanks for next thing does that mulan or mullen mullin. I like mulan dear brewery. Okay, Brody, and thank thank you for expiring me to fight for my free dessert. I'm always I was always the type of guy to let things go, but I just couldn't let this one pass by. I ordered flowers from my girlfriend from a popular online delivery service. Uh.
