Speaker 1: Elvis Durrand presents Off Air Show is Scary Jones and Greg T. Welcome to episode one. This is the off Fair Show. I'm Scary Jones. Here you are, Greg T. I'm over here. No, I feel like you're my hype man. It's right. I get so pucked up, man, because I'm spending hours here and I just can't wait until we finally get to the studio. We can crack that mic and we could just become ourselves the off Fair freaking shows. You're like a dog that's left in a car in the heat, and all of a sudden the owner comes in and finally opens the door. Right, it's become an outlet for me. Man, I beg, I need to get here. I can't wait already until we can freaking crip this baby up freak is here. Yeah, you are what You're over? Now? What what are you am? I still on this podcast? Are you still? Are you eating nuts? Did this happen? You nut much? I'm actually eating an oreo. You always start the podcast during the first opportunity I have to eat here, So, oh, you know where I got those oreos from? Apologies the company that makes them. That is not true. You know the ones that you're eating. I got them from that girl Julie when I bumped into her down at my gig the other day. She actually brought me oreos instead. Give these to Elvis and give these two ball freak. Now do you know how do you know that this is the same oreo? Because that's the one the ones that you went back to your office to go get. Those are the ones that girls in there Forever Nate straight Nate gave me. That No, that girl Julie gave them to me. That guy Nate gave them to me. He did not, he did. He gave me a whole box. What's the difference if somebody I have this problem at Christmas time? If somebody gives me a gift card and then you give me cash. Okay, let's say Aunt Millie and Millie slips me a fifty for Christmas, which she often does. Yeah, okay, you scary. And then I go very to a casino and I and I throw down at the black jack table. People start yelling at me, how dare you spend Aunt Millie's Christmas money at black jack? Yeah? Because it's dirty money exactly. But hold on a second, Aunt Milly didn't know you're gonna take it's not her fifty. What if I buy something like a sweater with something nice for your set point on the black The point is it's a different fifty. What's a difference if I spend the fifty dollars on a sweater and I and I pulled a different fifty out of my pocket, I'm still spending fifty dollars on a black jack table. It's not her cash. It's like it's not necessarily her gift that I'm her candy. If my grandmother, God bless her sault, she's still ninety three. If Grandma gives me fifty bucks, I don't go out and try to find a whole I do with that specific that's dirty money. That's you guys are not getting my point I am. The point is, if it's not that fifty I'm spending, it becomes physically spending a different fifty, it's still fifty I'm spending. So what difference doesn't make if it's the same money, because you know what, you're fifty bucks because your aunt MILLI gate, you're conscious of it. If you're bringing it up right now exactly because I've been it's been no, And if you did, Let's say you took the fifty bucks and then you want on it, you'd have to actually you have to give it Milly half. No, but no. But if I won, I wonder what if I lost it first and I took another fifty out of my pocket and then I won fifty dollars back. But it's not the same fifty dollar bill. That's it's in chips, and then the page gives me fifty Is it the same fifty nine? Depends how you can. So that's why I don't think it matters where you where you spend your money. If you can live with yourself knowing that you county cards, you know, spending fifty dollars county cards and nothing cards Undy cards. Anyway, on today's show, you can always email us at the Affair Show at gmail dot com. You can respond tell us what you want more of or less of, or just give us some social media feedback for a future episode. Are they giving us an information on yesterday's court case between you and I whether or not we should be spending the two breaking down into UH four fift do gift cards or two dollar bills? Well, I believe our president uh the l president and the VP, which is Omar and Marine who By the way, I've given um some control to our Facebook page too. They will be writing up, they will be setting out daily recaps of each episode. They they're gonna be um, you know, they're gonna be putting a posting the new episodes as they go, and they're gonna be putting that poll up. So we will be finding out when somebody puts a poll up. You know, don't you love it? Yeah? I love you can always uh you know, get in touch with us on Twitter too. At the fair Show, Greg t has the most diarrhea on Twitter of any other social media and off Twitter, and he's got the most misspellings. Here. Did you get my doodles yesterday? Greg take? Yes, I didn't know who left that for me. You threw these two people? Why what was that all about? Well, that's what I do in here. I'm kind of like I have a d D when I listened to this podcast, just like everybody else. So you named one of your doodles Edwin Starr. Well, we were talking about all those those bands, so I just wrote Edwin Starr down. The question remains, who is Edwin Starr? It's the guy who sings war. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing? Say yesterday on the podcast, Yeah, but I thought his name was Edwin something else. I didn't even get his last So you were thinking of Edwin McCain, Edwin McCain, Edwin McCain. Who would think of Edwin McCain in any kind I do you say the word Edwin? Who even has the name Edwin than Edwin Starr and Edwin McCain. I think of this song by Edwin McCain. My grandfather's name is Edwin. I'll be oh my god. So don't get confused between Edward Starr and Mary's money. And I can tell you this much stuff scared. I'm glad you actually played this song because you know today why this song has got something in in uh, in connection with what I want to talk about today. Bad music exactly the Edwind McCaine and music will never be in the rock and Roll Hall of Fame ever. I can bet my life that will never be in the rock roll If referencing the rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is that a tease? It is a little bit of a tea radio tease right there. That's a little ball tickle right there, scary. Well, let's get to the chords. Please, I just say, can you can you record scratch this one? Please? Creaking up on something else? Can we remember the nineties, the late nineties, that was my sweet spot in music. Here's a fun fact about Edwin McCain. He was great at rock and roll Jeopardy. He was Yeah, him and Mark McGrath from Sugary. Remember he won all the time. I forgot. You know why I don't want Jeopardy because Alex Trebek is such an idiot as you challenged. Because I'll tell you, I can't think scared the first time Grity told me to turn off a song and not play one because that song sucks. Here's why I don't like Jeopardy. I don't like Jeopardy. You have Jeopardy music, scary, Yeah, I got Jeopardy, of course. Here's why I don't like jeff the song Um, I love Jeopardy. I love I loved in Jeopardy by Greg? What about I lost in Jeffy, I lost on Jeopardy, Well you might Greg, Okay, Well, let take the picture. I'll tell you why. Just wor about that. I don't like Jeopardy because everybody sits there and gets fooled by Alex Trebek, and they all think that Alex Trebec is smart. But Alex Trebek is nothing but a glorified game show host. That's all he is. He really it's very studious, right, But he's not smart. No, he's not smart. He's just a glorified game show host that has been hosting the same game show for over twenty years. What is You are an idiot if you think Alex Trebec isn't smart. He has to pronounce all the words. He's got to be prepped, he's gotta be on, he's gotta be funny. Listen does it all? If you ever listen, you can't do what he does. Listen to Elvis Duran and the morning show I do every once in a while. And if you listen to our show twenty years ago, it does not sound as polished and as good as it does today. It sounds polish because you're on it. It's a that's very funny. It's a well oiled machine where it is today. Alex Trebek did not sound or did he act the way he did when the show first started. He is a well oiled commander of a well oiled machine. That is what he is. Dance in a sexually provocative manner, involving thrusting hit movements and a squatting stance. But its ye, listen to me in a second. I'm gonna have to take a break for one second. But listen to me for right now. I tell you can think about it. Alex Trebek is nothing more than a game show host. That's what Jeopardy is, something much more than just a game show. That's what happened. You forgot about what you're doing. You're watching a game show. That's what you're watching is a game show. But nothing. Don't mean that the host of the game show isn't an intelligent man. Metaviere loves raisins after cleaving foes in Twain, So give him spotted this Emma, what is dick spot That's it? Hey, let's real quick. Don't eloquently, he said, spotting. You have the doorbell. You have the doorbell. Hold, hold, there's somebody in our door. There's an eloquence. There's this punch, A blow to the back of the neck. Is the punch? Name for this animal? Mike, what does a donkey an? Yes? What I was going to say, there's somebody in our doors. There's nobody? What do you know there is there's somebody in our door? Look up, you can see there's some that would be a great surprise. Are you surprising us? Who's there? Is it? Patsy Jack? I don't know, Chuck Woolery? Oh? Look look somebody just walked on in. Hi. Hello, who's the host? Is Joker's wildly? Put it on scale over here? Is it? Wink Mortondale? You know what is such a freaking kid? Jack Barry to cuff you, bro, I'm sorry answer the quote unquote door U. Hi, it's me was me Vivian. Hi, Vivian. This is ladies and gentlemen we bring to the table. This is Vivian from our sales team. That our national sales staff is here. I couldn't see you through the people we had to do, say sales, Vivian. If you if you recall when we first met Stas from vander Pulp Rules, we invited Vivian to come on up here. She gave us a minute of the biggest fan girling. That's right, she played the game fan girl, remember, Yeah. So she also brought us She helped facilitate the mac Weldon deal very first sponsor cent right, So if you really think about where Vivian stands in the lure of the Affair Show, you'd have to say that Vivian arguably is sort of royalty. Yeah, you are royal. That qualifies as royalty. Well listen, Mr Mr. I love Jeopardy, you love trivia. If you had to, you know, ask a trivia question, you had to say, um, you know, uh, she brought the very first sponsorship to the Affair Show, and I'll leave what about she brought together the very first sponsorship to the off air show? Who is who is Mother Teresa Night's rate? Ding in no ding? Who is who is City Hawkins? I would say, I'm so sorry that as not that is not correct. And then ball Freak had buzz in ding ding ding, We recognize Bold Freak? Yes, who is the wicked Witch of the West. I'm so sorry, ing dinging? Who is sees Susan being Anthony? You said you twice? You said first, and then we finally was some say who is Vivian? And I would saying, you are correct, it's Vivian. You would say, ding ding ding, Vivian, where are you? You're a ding ding Ding. Sorry that you're taking such abuse from Scary and from baal Frien. It's not you taking the We're not abusing her, she's just bearing witness to us abusing you. Yes, Vivian, Yes, Vivian, A little favor from Greg T little sales favor on the podcast. This is why you want to get married and have children, because when you have when you're married, you have children, you open yourselves to other sponsorships, other possible clients that might want to take interesting like a divorce attorney. Dude, I'm not coughing for cash. You should because what happens is then your marriage so hard. Do you see? Seriously think about she's batting her eyelashes scaring in my direction. There's a lot If Scary would just put a ring on his girl's finger, you don't think about that. We can get jewelry stores, right, You could sell a jewelry stores sponsorship rings. You can have a love that to be sponsored. Hey, your whole wedding is sponsored. You will make money from that. Vivy came up with a great idea. So Vivi called and said, hey, listen, t can we talk? I said, sure, what do you got in mind. So, Vivian, what do you got in mind? So it's this gum. It's called Juicy Drop Gum. It's brand new and it's really focused for kids. You sixty eight has two adorable daughters. I would but yes so so kids around the country are ching this stuff. So bull freak. You like gum and scary legs gum? Yes, but you know what the company wants to go after, not the two of you youngs. They want to go after too adorable little larn. Yes, it's two little girls and they want these two little girls to eat the gum. Maybe take a picture. What the flavors of here is you guys should get married at some kids so you guys can get some sponsorships. That's the trade off, that's correct. I get a couple of gum sponsorship. Well you get talking all over say again, Vivian rude being rude. This is my podcast, I know, but she's a guest here and you're talking along selling gum money, Show me the money music, give me some gun music. I gotta I gotta find go to beds and put something in there. Expens on planned stuff. So what we were talking about, Alextra Beck being dumb and the next thing we know selling gum on the podcast. You never know what's going to happen for me something from minute to minute. Wait, hold on a second wall. Whoa, this comes into liquid. No, you add the liquid too. We're talking to the microphone. People are not gonna here. There's a gum. There's a liquid bottle that you squired on the gum, and if you chew it when it starts, the flavor starts to go away. You just squired the bottle in your mouth and the flavor going. It's so fun to the gift that keeps on giving. We need it. Okay, so it at sugar in your mouth. You can't watch, you can't see. This is a podcast. So the gum is it looks like a flat like a two by four, but it looks like it's half of it and it's hollowed out in the middle. So then she takes this little squirt bottle that has this extra sugar liquid and she pours that right inside the middle of the gum. So here's okay. Yes, And when it looks like a regular piece of bubble gum, but you flip it up, you don't taste in in the middle of the middle, it's like a little like it looks like a little railroad track exactly, and then you squirt the liquid into the railroad. That's right, and then so you have the right. But we had this, I mean growing up, we had a gum called freshen Up right or chools or something where there was like a little surprise in the middle, like you you'd butt into it. At first you think it's a regular piece of gum and it's solid, and then yeah, but we used to call it something else. They're not interested in you. You're some you know, fourty year old guy eating it, and they're not interested in a bald freak at forty, you know, eating the gum. They're interested in young little girls that are eating it. I eat greg tas do there you go ding ding ding. You know. It's it's almost like putting ketchup on or mustard on a hotdog. And that's about this, of course I am. There's no reason to boast about your daughters. Enjoy your gum, that's right, that's right, ball freak. Yeah, it's just really good. Yeah you need it. Yeah, but you can say how good it is all you want, but clear you're not going to be an endorsement of this product. He will not be he will That's all right. I'm really taking pictures of my daughter's eating this gum all over the place, and the sponsor will enjoy it because we will tell everybody how great this gum is. Your peacocking? Two little girls taking the gum to school, sharing with their friends. What is better than that? This is an unnecessary peacock on you on your part? Does this Scary Jones Movies? Right? What are you talking about? How my peacocking? Because this wasn't planned, not on the sheet. All of a sudden, you shell product. My phone went off. It was Viggy and she texted me and she says, I have a meeting with a client in a little bit. Can I bring this up to you? And I said absolutely, she's not. She's a smart girl. And you have to, I mean, you have to allow off Airhead Royalty into the studio. How could you not welcome bubble gum, bubble bubble bubble gum, bub bubba bubble gum. It's called bubble is Bruno Mars with major lady. Alright, Look it comes in different flavors, fruity flavors. Yeah, look this one year is how many flavors we have. There's at least four. Right now we have Knockout Punch, and so I'm eating the Knockout Punch. It is definitely very tart and sweet. What are the clever names do they have for their gum? So look, I only have the two flas. Don't put us on the spot. I haven't blown a bubble in years, so I'm gonna try one right now live. You can blow it, blow bubble. Oh, I thought you said something else. Now, obviously, you know, if they would like they can, you know, maybe think about the Off Fair Show podcast to advertisement. I don't think about it. Thought put at the end of the day, you'd really want to sponsor two little girls? Right, well, why why don't your daughters do the podcast? And I'll go home. Listen, don't get upset their ball from alright, you've been divorced, you know, five times, seven times? To bring that up, you know, just because well clearly I tried to get some gum endorsements and I tried to take your advice and has it worked out. Thank you for Thank you very much. I will take this home. My daughter Jada and Ella will love eating this gum. And then you'll take your cash and ladies and gentlemen. That's what will make videos. When Scary Jones is making fun of you for shilling you know you've gone to for that's right? Yeah, I got that escorted in your mouth. That's what ve you to love you? Whatever I can do to help out? All I can do? Who loves you more? Get on your shack talking? So what do you got to have on your minds? Go, Scary? You got something on your might you go first? Yeah? Let me spit my gum out for this one. Oh now you spit it out left? He spits it out, Well a kid, a kid. My mouth's about to get very hot, It's about to get very loud. Why is this because I have a bone to it with bald freak issues? Yeah? I do what I do. Now, Okay, how don't we get that? Get the get the boxing bell out, get the boxing boxing. But this is not a boxing mall. I feel like we're going we're gonna be fighting here. We're not going to be doing that. We're not letting over sensitivity. Am I gonna have to let me introduce here? We go from in the adult grown grown adult male in the red corner, coming on out, weighing in at one hundred and ninety two pounds, he is scary jo and of course coming in in the black corner with no hair, completely bald, weighing in and approximately a hundred and sixty nine pounds. It's pretty accurate giving out for bald free news lad and ladies telling boys and girl children of all ages. When I say, dad, you guys come out out and you guys start fighting here, we got come back. That's it. No scary the announcer and the referend right, give me a bell, Give me a bell. Scary all right, all right, I got my I got my gloves up. I'm waiting. I'm waiting from the throw of the punk. I don't even know what bald freak and I have been here for thirty years as friends on this earth. Yeah, I've now called you five different times. I knew that this was really if you knew what that means, You're guilty right now. The times in the past week I've called your phone, you have not called. I've left your voicemails last night, doesn't matter. You've seen the number come up, and you've seen the miscalls. The chance and the next thing. You know, I don't get calls back. See he doesn't matter. I said specifically on my voicemail, please call me back when you have a chance. Yeah, you are not like in a sort of an urgent like, oh my god, you see do you deny that you've seen I'm gonna look at my phone right now and see how many times you've called me. Freak you himself. I called you you. You called me once and I told you I was in the recording to the next day, and then you called me again last night and I was listening to the rough mixes from the I was busy and I didn't get your text message or whatever. Too late. I gotta believe that looks too late in your opinion, thirty is not too late. You know that I go to bed at midnight or here? What the hell do I know what time you go to bed? You can just shoot the text notes. I was in the studio prop That's what broads do. Broads get back to each other. But then, wait a second, what about this weekend when I called you? I tried over the week texted you this weekend text me, I texted, I'm looking this is the first round over. I want to want. I had no text messages from from you over the week. All right now, at the end of round one so far, we're looking at Bolling Freak and Scarier scoring up pretty even right now made his points and ball Freak is come back in. You want me to go to round two? In just a second, just a second, they're both getting water and they're both getting wiped down. Good round for both of them. Here we go. Round two starts that. So last you asked me if I would go with you to the Mark Twain ceremony where you were honored that we talked about here on this part right and then it is a last minute thing, and he said, I'm gonna. I'll give you a call later let you know. And you never gave me a go I know, I said, I probably not, but if I can go, I will call you, I know, but you should at least return like, but give me a give me hey, budd, Hey, Bud, I'm not gonna. I'm not coming tonight. Thanks for the invite, Thank you for inviting me. I thought the fact that I did not respond and already said probably not because it was a last minute thing and I did not have But then I emailed you, and I texted you rather and you coming. I said, Hey, Bud, you coming, coming, come and starting round two. Let your text mess at the end of round two you can start. I'm scoring this isn't this isn't a boxing match. This is uh, this is a wrestling match tag team. The way I'm scoring it right now is Scary Jones has got you got ten points for the first round tech pretty even, and I'm gonna give a nine for the second round. There the second round, I'm gonna go with got it right now like a t jump in the ri Scary Jones. The last text message, the text message I have from around three is Monday March twentieth, Monday March twentieth, but like a picture of me and Elvis's apartment during the whiskey TABE called you. Though I've called you, You've called me the two times that I mentioned, and you didn't call it back. You just left. Yeah, you left me a voicemail and I explained you the next day where I was and why I couldn't get back. Why are you so sensitive? Why is everybody so sensitive? How do you feel about this? You know? Bull have to say. There's a couple of times where I have texted you as well. I'll give you the same excuse I gave him. Do you think I'm just sitting around waiting for you guys to call me fighting for I'm a busy man. Each other every day. We talked to each other on the and then of the goddamn microphone every day. But bull freak, let me tell you something was Seriously, if if we're gonna text you, we expect we expect an answer back. I'm here to temper your expectations. Okay, that's right, That's what I have in my mind. What about you there? Greg? Take all right, listen and in my mind today up for Today's a special day? What's today? Ball freak? Can I cue you now to hit me? Now? You want me to be be your buddy after you attacking? You should be on the podcast your podcast? Puppet, Hey, podcast, puppet. This isn't a sort of subject for a podcast. What do you mean you got a problem with me personally? About my level of communication with you as a friend. You talk to me off the author air your dirty laundry. Our battles will be settled here in our forums. Don't want to hear court. People want to hear us arguing playfully. Not because we're offended by each other. You've got a problem, Tea. I'll bounce you, bro, I'll bounce you bro, all right, very irresponsible with both of you. Should know better. All you gotta do is return a text message. Is it that difficult? No, it's not that difficult. So then why don't you do it? Because sometimes I I'm not. I'm not sitting by my phone all day. You know what the difference between you and me is? You guys are scary. Jones is his phone is attached to his hand like surgically. He really is, though, it really is. It's a prod. Everybody is like that. Really, a lot of people are. Okay, listen, great, he's got his bag on his shoulders. But I want to go into a bit right now. Okay, I have ten minutes until I gotta get out of Okay, but no ball freaking what's on your mind? I got done? He's done. I'm exasperated. All right. Let me cue you up to what we need. Okay. I already told you what I needed from you today. Okay, right, are we going into this? Yes? We are? Are you ready to do this? Yeah? I'm ready to do this? You're ready to do this? Yeah? Wellfred, you ready to do this? Yeah? Yeah, go hit it. It happened, and Scary cracked up to me and said, give it to me. Do you have any history music, ladies and gentlemen. So it was a little bit brisk outside, and the entire year it was the brisk outside in three on this day in history, on this day, men and women from all around they gathered round with shovels in hand as they broke crown on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on this day in history, on April five, in they broke ground in Cleveland and they filled, you know, as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You can't spell history without tea. That's right, you can't spell it. Cannot spell. You can spell history without tea, but you can't spell history. So I have five facts that I want to give me. So that's fact number one. How did you know it was brisk? Were you there? Well? Come on with the wind coming off of Lake Michigan. It's cold in April five in April in Cleveland, the wind is whipping off of Lake Michigan. It's freaking cold, and Cleveland ape. It paints a nice picture, but in reality it could have been seventy five degrees. And Sonny, you don't know, really, do you really think it was seventy five degrees? Sonny? And Cleveland's all right, that's fact number one. It's always sunny in Philadelphia. That's a good show. It happened today his story. You may have heard of these two people, Simon and Garfunkle. Yeah, I have back in what was the date nineteen guys, look at night? It was nineteen cares about the year what was it? Brisk out? That day a song broke ground for these two. They had a brisk that day. Brisket Mrs Robinson was released. It was the single that was released in one movie that put the philim almost famous. No, no, it was the famous thing. Come on, movie? Was this from something that you didn't do? Bars Gump? Come on? You know when it keep this movie? Keep? This came out in the sixties, so it was in a movie. It was with a special actor. His name was Dustin Hoffman, and it was just like, give him some more. He's still not go he still won't get it right. Man again once again, in the sixties, you didn't do this. You didn't achieve this in life. That's the title of the film, Mrs Robinson. No, what's what movie? You had audio clue? See this is what I'm saying, like, Oh, is such a great song? This third eye Blind? You know what's what's the song? What's tent? I want to see if he's still gets what's the name of the film? To graduate? Let guys every two days? All right, so listen, it also happened in this state history. You know them as Bundy's, the Bundy's Ted Bundy, Hed Ted Bundy and Peggy the head of the household. Un Married with Children debut on Fox today. How about that, Peg? What was your favorite episode of children? Hey? Peg? The one where he sticks his hand in his pants? Say that one of them? Married with Children broke ground for a lot of great TV shows that we have today. If TV shows just TV shows, if not for someone, if not, if not for marriage children, we wouldn't have had some of the great comedies that we do now. For instance, I don't know pick one big one actually that has nothing to do with anything. The seventies show what what is one? What is that we might not we might not have ed O'Neill on on Modern Family because he might not have been a great actor at that because he might not have been discovered. But I mean, I will tell you this, that was a great show. It's called RKA excuse um, great archaic and there's an arcase, there's a wonderful there's a wonderful ten minute montage of the best of Al Bundy's rank Out. It is so funny, guys. It is a compilation of stuff that we wouldn't get away with on television today. Just him at the shoe salesman in the store, on his hands and knees, trying to trying to like, um, you know, measure like gross women's toes and come on, actually, every time he made fun of um, you know, Marcy, Marcy Darcy, and think about and what's her face? The daughter Christie Applegate. I mean, you have to kidding me, who did it? Well, that's kind of like something that we didn't need to say out loud, but you chose to. We did say that, love said crege Phone. That's always well towards she had the shirt. Yeah, she just we just added another another backwards word to the vocabulary. Do you used to us the Credge phone mean to Credge foe. You don't have to let them figure it out. That's also what happened on today in history, Crutch and follow on the couch. Yeah, it's a story that it was. Give me this SoundBite. Tragic day in the music world today in news this morning that Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was found dead at the age of twenty seven, apparently the victim of a self inflicted gunshot wound. I still have continuous coverage all night longing here on MTV. Stay with us for more Nirvana Unplugged. I got chills. Yeah, that was rough. I remember that too, man, that really really really what's rob? I remember where I was when I heard that news report. Where are you? I was, Maria, I would know. I was actually on my way back from classes at Brooklyn College. I was. I think we were sophomores or juniors. I was. I couldn't believe it. I was. We were. We were hazing pledges in my college. I was. And and this society doing good? Thanks for society. What's your favorite Nirvana songs? Uh? It would be this one. Really, yeah, I mean this is their staple, yes, but it's also their greatest This is the one that launched them and launched the entire arguably launched the entire grunge movement. Yeah right, you know who the who are the other ones that launched with them was Nirvana, Pearl Jam, sound Guard and those are really the big four in my opinion. Yeah, I agree, I think you're right. Well, Freak, I think you're right, and Mother Love Bump, Well, they were predecessors to these bands. That band and most of the members of Sound Garden and Pearl Jam became uh bandmates because that the lead singer of that band, Andrew would passed away. And of course, without Nirvana would we have the Food Fighters exactly, that's right, we would not have the Food Fighters because Dave roll stepped up. You know a lot of people that know Dave Grohl is only a frontman for the Food Fighters and had no clue that he was the drummer of Nirvana. About that blowing people's minds right now listening to this podcast that have no clue to Dave Grohl was the drummer of Nirvana, and that's why he's in the Food Finders today as the lead singer. Stone Temple Pilots STP. Was in that next And mean, seriously, go down the list of some of these bands that without Nirvana and Kurt Cobaine, where would they they wouldn't Where would they be? Do we have to think about it? Give me something? Give me some of the bands? Do I have to What do you got? I mean you could argue that Green Day is is kind of like a Nirvana sort of Okay, I wouldn't go through. Yeah, I would think the Green Bay was in a class Green green Bay, green Day, We're going to class of their own in l A a different sound, a different you know, movement, but that chug a chugga angst the vocal that was I mean, green Day's punk rock for all intents and purposes. I scared. What do you think? You think this is a good debate? Does Green Day succeed because of Nirvana or does Nirvana? I really think Green Day paves the way. I'm sorry, I meant Nirvana caves the way for Green Day. Yeah, for any alternative rock that kind of came after. I feel like this, this this wasn't popular until listen to the guitar riff. You listen to the guitar riff of this part Shaped Box this is one of the later songs. The sound had been around, but it just had not been popular. When he comes in with listen who didn't have the Unplugged c D from MTV Nirvana's Unplugged the all Apologies about a Girl the World by Bowie. That was a great one. My favorite Nirvana song is probably something in the Way from the last song on never mind that very DRONI so that he does chiming in the way. Oh yes, all right, but you know what, I'll tell you the one thing. I have one question for you. How many of you guys that are listening now that had the Nirvana c D? Let this let the last song play all the way out so that they can hear what was it called some territorial pissing? The song the secret track on the Nirvana c D. It just played after twenty two minutes. Territorial pissings came on this song right here, So you had to wait for twenty two minutes of dead air. I don't I don't think that's accurate. How many how many minutes? Think this song is on on the album. It's just not the hidden track. Just think, yes it is it? Yes, yes it is. No I'm gonna I'm gonna debate you on that one and not absolutely the sort of music. So well, Freak, bring that debate on. I will absolutely debate you. Held on a second. Actually, oh wait, I kind of agree with bald Freak. The song is part of the main album. You're both wrong. You're both wrong. I mean, I can look it up, but why why bother? Because I already know that I'm right. Territorial Pissings came on after the last song trailed and it went to dead air for twenty two minutes, and then Territorial Pissings came on. I think you're wrong. Great, I think bald Freak is right on bring it if I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, to apologize. But I'm telling you're gonna shave now. I know, I know, dude, I'm a hundred percent correct. I guarantee you while you somebody proves you wrong, Searya, looking up right now, looking right now, I will. I will tell you that I remember not when he I mean I do remember when he killed himself, but remember he attempted suicide. I think he was a pill overdose. Yes, maybe a couple of months before, and that was the day that John Candy passed away. Really, I remember that. I remember where I was for that. John Candy died and Kurt Cobain was in a coma. I think no, but maybe there's no. John Candy died the same day that Kirk Omain killed himself. No, he died the day that Kurt Cobaine first tried to kill himself. Man, we got a lot of like you want to talk about a loose fact, you got some screws loose in your head. Gregg takes wrong. I hate to say it, buddy, I'm right. I wanted. I was rooting for you, Greg to get the underdog. Come on, you're absolutely wrong. What are you talking to? Is listed on the album track list. It's it's never Mind. It's not it's called on Nevermind. It's called endless Nameless, and it will end. Here's a fun fact. This track was mistakenly left off the first fifty copies of never Mind. Don't It's not on Mind? I have a CD without Without, But the name of the song is called Endless Nameless. Territorial Pissings, which I just played was actually part of the main album. No No, Yes, Yes, oh yeah, bro, No it happened story territorial pissings? Was it on? Was that even on never Mind? Or was it another album? It was on never Mind? All right? Another fact, now do you believe me? Another fact about what happened Today's history because I can't, I can't do anything is often known for misinformation. Do you know whose birthday is today? You know a smart mouth John Candy? No neither mouth birthday to Farrell's birthday today? Maybe we should send him some spiller wine. Was come on homic to Farrell today? Going to play happy right happy? It would have been like me being a basic bitch. That's right. I want to take it back to his roots. Now, you know what I like this from Jas that band he had was Farrell was in. It was like a hip hop neptune, Yes, oh that way tho. He was in No ecs, no effects? What really? Now? You just Farrell? What are those guys with what they we talked about yesterday with with with the helmets that do com That's where Farrell's from death. You're talking on DOS effects and we're not talking about no effects. Isn't he from that? No dos effects? Did a so called they want effects? Hold on a second, you are effects is like a like a punk band from the from the eighties and nineties. He was in the Neptunes. You gotta trust me on that telling me that Farrell has always been a solo artist. No, he was in the Neptune did tunes, as Ronnie said, which was really his project with with other musicians. But it was it was cool. It kind of had a more alternative rock field to it. I'm not into this song here, I'm not into this deceptively old, isn't he Listen? I got a baby face. I baby face is not baby face with someone else I just discovered with l A. Read. I thought this would be a cool part of the show to tell you what happened in history today. I like that. Thank you one one more before we go. Well, I gotta go in he story. What happen? What was that bald freak? No, I just wanted to do that. Okay, Well this happened the podcast episode one two where Great T got about seventy seventeen things wrong. Yes, you know, I just realized this, Greg T. This is a bit you can do every day of the year. We could do this again tomorrow. We could, but we would have guess what all new content have we could do it again the next day and then they have to that, but it would have to be something good, like you know, you can't you know, you know that the death of Kirk Obain is not gonna happen something. You know, that's right. But I'm sure tomorrow April six, Mrs Robinson and rain Man, that was a big one. Maybe there's something up. Yeah, I kind of like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was a very day in Cleveland. This was a day worth highlighting in history. Maybe we tell this children that was a big momentous. What day in history? Will we not be talking over each other? That would be great. That's never that's first, not enough room in the in the airwaves. So we got a yard be time to go tell them what's happening tomorrow. Scary Tomorrow, we are going to shave Greg T's eyebrows. Shaving it will be happening. Also, I think we're gonna try and get our friend Joe Gatto from Impractical Jokers on the phone, because they did that in the episode of Impractical Jokers they shaved Mar's eyebrows. There goes ball freak just talking over everybody. Hey, you said Jack glopen something. I got some for you mail for which you won't by Just flash me now, Just watch me. I can't say you won't. Just watch me now,
Speaker 1: Elvis Durrand presents Off Air Show is Scary Jones and Greg T.
