00:01:45
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:01:47
Speaker 2: Let's get some hoodies for the winter. Let's go. This is the feedback show. This is the side piece. This isn't the main. whoa side piece we got side piece well this is the side piece this is the show about the show this is the one where you comment on all the other shows and this is speaking of show belongs to you not me more importantly speaking of feedback I was at a street fair this weekend and you know how they have like everybody's got a tent yes and I'll talk more about street fairs on the Brooklyn Boys let me write my note about street fairs because I'm convinced it's the same 40 people at every street fair hold on street fairs okay But this guy was plugging in a speaker, but instead of turning the volume off or turning the speaker off, you know what happens when you first touch the cable to the hole where the plug goes in? Yeah. Is that what happened? Yeah. But we were walking past the tent, and so we jumped. Everybody in the group that was walking by. Jump. Also, Pointed Sisters. And Criss Cross. Van Halen first. Oh, yeah.
00:02:58
Speaker 3: Yep.
00:02:58
Speaker 2: Criss Cross will make it.
00:03:00
Speaker 6: All right.
00:03:01
Speaker 2: I'll go with Van Halen as the top of those three songs. Let's do this. Let's listen to what you had to say about our episodes. Be nice now, people. Be nice.
00:03:10
Speaker 3: Be nice.
00:03:11
Speaker 2: If you listen to the iHeartRadio app, you clicked on the microphone, and that's how you got here.
00:03:21
Speaker 7: Apologies for the quality of the last talkbacks. I tried to leave. I know I'm behind, like, a few episodes. But anyway, so being on hiatus, Trucker, thanks for the welfare check, and Risker, how you doing? I've been listening, but just haven't had time to leave a talkback.
00:03:37
Speaker 8: That's okay, man.
00:03:38
Speaker 7: When I did, I missed a cutoff because of vacations and stuff. Get to the good stuff, Mike. I did leave a few talkbacks a few weeks prior, but I still didn't go through.
00:03:45
Speaker 3: I don't know what the fuck's going on, but anyway.
00:03:47
Speaker 7: Yeah, it was regarding the AP Swatch Collab.
00:03:49
Speaker 2: The Swatch Collab? That was a few episodes ago.
00:03:51
Speaker 7: A few years ago when Swatch did the Omega Collab, I wanted to get one, but no U.S.
00:03:56
Speaker 3: Stores had any inventory left.
00:03:57
Speaker 7: So when I went to Asia that same year, I was able to find a Swatch store that had a shill of inventory, and I was able to get one. And, uh, so, like, uh, this year, uh, when the AP Swatch collab came out, I wanted to get one as well, but, like, none of the stores in the U.S.
00:04:12
Speaker 3: Had it, and, uh, then I checked the inventory in the Asia stores. There was, like, inventory there, so I'm gonna try and get one. Ooh! You know? Oh, oh. That may be scary. I'll grab one for you, too. You still want it? Yeah. Anyway, ask for tattoos. How you doing? I got back piece, two half-sleeves, but almost full-sleeves now.
00:04:30
Speaker 7: When I work a corporate job, I have, like, two half-sleeves at a time, and then, like, Tattoos had to be covered up at work. If I wore short sleeves, I just covered it at the sleeve line. Then the tattoo banners lifted, like, after 20 years with the company. And I had my forearms done. All my tattoos were done good taste, so no one can say shit. And, Rivka, if we were combined into one, we probably can make up a full-body tattoo.
00:04:53
Speaker 2: I don't think either one of you has facial tattoos. I feel like you could DM her all this, but... Oh, piercings. Oh, hold on. He's on the piercings.
00:05:02
Speaker 7: I only got like one helix ear piercing and a little piercing in the tongue ring.
00:05:07
Speaker 3: Don't tell me you got like a septum nose ring.
00:05:10
Speaker 7: And for BLT not being sandwiched, I know it's been played out, but I just want to tell you that, like, the BLT at Five Guys, it's like a freaking burger made out of bacon if you ordered the BLT at Five Guys.
00:05:21
Speaker 3: I wasn't able to finish them. I got mine.
00:05:22
Speaker 7: I started feeling like my lottery's clogging. And for cannons, boobs, I heard women call them, like, calcium cannons.
00:05:30
Speaker 2: Calcium cannons. I love it. All right.
00:05:32
Speaker 3: Thank you.
00:05:33
Speaker 2: All right. Fantastic. He left it right there at four.
00:05:36
Speaker 3: Perfect.
00:05:37
Speaker 2: Is this him?
00:05:39
Speaker 1: Oh, T-White. I'm confused, Scary, on your argument about AI. What do they gain? What money do they gain by saying, let's slow AI down? I don't get why they would benefit by not advancing. Wouldn't they make more money by advancing? That's like Saquon Barkley saying, you shouldn't be able to run the football. You should have to throw it every time. Let's get rid of running the football. What would they gain from slowing down AI?
00:06:09
Speaker 2: Because their companies are not up to par with the thousands of people that are out there, all the little guys that are developing AI. Because it's an open source thing right now. It's the Wild West. So they don't want anyone else to get better technology than they do. So by putting laws on it and slowing it down... No, you laugh. But by slowing it down. Independent people won't be regulated by the laws. No one will know that they're working in their basement. No, but by putting regulations on these little guys getting bigger, they don't want competition. So they got to gain the technology first. That's my theory.
00:06:50
Speaker 3: Right.
00:06:51
Speaker 2: You think a little independent company has more AI technology than ChatGPT. then open source AI, then Claude. You have no idea what's out there. Clearly, no, no. You have no idea what's out there. Well, then you don't either, though. So there you go. So you don't know what's out there. Let's move on. I'm going to continue on. Nobody agreed to regulate the companies anyway because people who regulate the companies have stock in AI. So here comes another burst of knowledge.
00:07:17
Speaker 3: Who's this? Here we go.
00:07:18
Speaker 2: Liam here.
00:07:19
Speaker 9: Alex for $ 500. What time of day did I get my coffee? How many hours was I up?
00:07:29
Speaker 10: Hmm.
00:07:31
Speaker 9: The ladies are cunts. So walk away. I've done a lot of times with jobs.
00:07:37
Speaker 2: Walk away. Learn to fold. Just walk away. What are we talking about? I don't know.
00:07:44
Speaker 11: Liam.
00:07:45
Speaker 2: I don't know. What's in the coffee, Liam? Something special. So far. So far we had Asian Mike just doing a private session to Rivka. Yeah. Liam dropping knowledge. I think. And T. White's confused about my argument on AI.
00:08:05
Speaker 12: All right.
00:08:06
Speaker 2: He's not confused at all. He's on point. Off to a roaring start.
00:08:11
Speaker 3: Hey, Brooklyn boys, this is M-Fuck.
00:08:13
Speaker 2: Oh, shit.
00:08:14
Speaker 13: Today is Tuesday, September 29th. I need to address something Scary said on the big show. They were talking about the MTV BMAs being about Madonna, right? And Scary was not about it. Why did Scary say, I grew up listening to Madonna?
00:08:35
Speaker 14: I'm sorry, Scary.
00:08:35
Speaker 13: I thought you grew up listening to Nicki Minaj.
00:08:38
Speaker 2: Totally different time.
00:08:40
Speaker 9: Love y'all.
00:08:41
Speaker 2: Don't you know I've been a man-child for 30 years of my life? Yeah, he hasn't grown up yet. He's still growing up. I spanned three generations of growing up. He's grown up with Serena Coppola. Hey, what's up, boys?
00:08:49
Speaker 3: David Cito, Brooklyn, Ohio.
00:08:51
Speaker 2: Hey.
00:08:52
Speaker 15: No, I did not think the show.
00:08:54
Speaker 16: Was about Brooklyn, Ohio.
00:08:56
Speaker 3: Nobody's that dumb to make a show.
00:08:58
Speaker 2: About Brooklyn, Ohio.
00:08:59
Speaker 3: Ain't nothing going on here.
00:09:01
Speaker 16: I've been a fan of the Elvis Duran show for about 15 years and love David Brody on the show.
00:09:07
Speaker 3: Miss him.
00:09:07
Speaker 2: Thank you.
00:09:08
Speaker 6: I come here to get my David Brody fix.
00:09:10
Speaker 3: Always Brody before scary.
00:09:13
Speaker 12: Always.
00:09:14
Speaker 3: Love you, scary, but you know. Gotta go Brody before Scary.
00:09:19
Speaker 2: Well, fair enough. Okay, as long as you're here. I don't care how you got here or why you're here. I appreciate the kind words. You're present.
00:09:27
Speaker 15: Hey guys, Vinny from Brooklyn.
00:09:28
Speaker 2: On the toilet. Remember the girl's name from Long Island.
00:09:33
Speaker 15: Talking about the body dysmorphia nonsense with the Sidney Sweeney ant. It's not anyone else's responsibility for how you feel about yourself. I don't feel horrible because The Rock looks insane, or Mark Wahlberg, or any other of the thousand fucking superstars that have insane bodies. I've got a dad bod, I'm a little chubby. I don't give a fuck.
00:09:54
Speaker 2: Good for them.
00:09:55
Speaker 15: That's on them.
00:09:56
Speaker 2: Not on you. Alright, thank you. I'm going to give a short commentary to that. Vinny, you're 98% right. You don't care what The Rock looks like. But you don't have the same body dysmorphia issues, which are a real thing to people, just like some people are alcoholics, just like some people are claustrophobic, just like some people are afraid of spiders. There are people with body dysmorphia issues, and to them, it's a trigger. Some people live in the shadows of attractive people all their lives, and they suffer from different disorders. So let's try to show empathy for things that we don't have and may not understand until it affects you or your family. That's all.
00:10:40
Speaker 10: Hi, Brooklyn boys. Jen, the groomer.
00:10:43
Speaker 2: Jen, the groomer.
00:10:45
Speaker 10: Just catching up on some episodes. I want to drop my two cents about the Sydney Sweeney discussion. I love the commercial. I think she is beautiful. I also think she's incredibly intelligent since she's an investor in the company and doing the ad herself. I bet you she's saving some money on the talent fee. I'm also pretty sure people are a little butthurt because she is now dating Scooter Braun. who is a big-time mogul himself.
00:11:12
Speaker 2: Jen, the groomer clearly does not have body dysmorphia. Scooter Braun has done well.
00:11:17
Speaker 12: Oh, Brody.
00:11:18
Speaker 4: Brody.
00:11:19
Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
00:11:20
Speaker 5: Brody, Brody.
00:11:22
Speaker 2: Let me try and quote you here for a second.
00:11:25
Speaker 16: That is an unbelievable use of a word that does not exist.
00:11:29
Speaker 17: When you are talking about tribulations, you, my friend, are making excuse after excuse for your excuses.
00:11:38
Speaker 8: God damn, you were wrong.
00:11:40
Speaker 2: Just fucking admit it. I went back and listened, damn it, and you were wrong.
00:11:45
Speaker 8: You said tribulations was not a word.
00:11:47
Speaker 9: Okay.
00:11:50
Speaker 2: I love that he's upset. You know what? The beauty of that is that we got an extra listen out of him. Thank you for going back. To make you happy, I used the wrong words. What I should have said, you're right, should have said was, That's not a word that belongs in that sentence in that way. Obviously, it's a word I misspoke, which is a mistake. He continues.
00:12:15
Speaker 17: I'm not going to stop until you tell me that you were wrong.
00:12:23
Speaker 15: You were wrong.
00:12:24
Speaker 10: You know it.
00:12:25
Speaker 2: Damn it. You were wrong. Just fucking admit it.
00:12:28
Speaker 15: You are not going to die.
00:12:30
Speaker 2: I promise you.
00:12:31
Speaker 17: I promise you will not die. Just fucking admit it. I'm going to make it my life's mission for you to admit you.
00:12:44
Speaker 2: Were fucking wrong.
00:12:46
Speaker 9: You're wrong.
00:12:47
Speaker 2: Why would I ever admit I'm wrong?
00:12:48
Speaker 15: You were wrong.
00:12:49
Speaker 2: Brody was wrong. Brody was wrong.
00:12:53
Speaker 6: Brody was wrong.
00:12:53
Speaker 8: Brody was wrong.
00:12:55
Speaker 7: Brody was wrong.
00:12:57
Speaker 3: Brody was wrong.
00:12:58
Speaker 2: You're wrong. Just admit it. Talk about leaving the room on a high, like the Seinfeld episode. It's the.
00:13:19
Speaker 9: Brooklyn Boys Podcast.
00:13:23
Speaker 12: Oh, man.
00:13:24
Speaker 2: I love our slices. They're very dedicated to the cause, if nothing else.
00:13:28
Speaker 3: God bless.
00:13:28
Speaker 2: Very passionate. Very passionate.
00:13:30
Speaker 18: Yep.
00:13:33
Speaker 2: What's going on here?
00:13:35
Speaker 19: Amy out from Lancaster.
00:13:39
Speaker 4: Reggie here.
00:13:42
Speaker 8: Thank you.
00:13:43
Speaker 2: What's she thanking her for? Could you remind me, Brody? She must be thanking her for a talk back from a week ago. Out of context. You know better than that. You're not new here.
00:13:56
Speaker 3: Love, love, love your podcast.
00:13:58
Speaker 10: It's my favorite one.
00:14:00
Speaker 9: However, you really need to stop quoting the songs throughout your podcast.
00:14:04
Speaker 2: It's very distracting. Is it?
00:14:07
Speaker 6: No.
00:14:08
Speaker 2: That's kind of who we are, but maybe we'll do it a little less. Yeah, I could see how it could be distracting. I don't know, Slices. Do you like it? Do you not?
00:14:21
Speaker 3: I don't know.
00:14:22
Speaker 2: I thought we were being cute, clever in the moment, but if I guess we're in the middle of a sentence or a story, it can be a little distracting. We'll take that under advisement.
00:14:34
Speaker 20: Heard a tribulation as one word, not tribulation like trials and tribulations.
00:14:42
Speaker 6: I think he heard a tribulation as one word and thought that.
00:14:46
Speaker 2: That was wrong, which I also do think is wrong. I think that.
00:14:52
Speaker 6: The football player, whoever, meant to say an attribution or attributed, but he did not mean to say tribulation.
00:14:59
Speaker 2: This is the next day, completely. Jackson Dart. This is the next day. He's leaving. He's still got it. Brody living rent-free in his head.
00:15:11
Speaker 5: Hey, Brooklyn boys, it's MD Licked here, and I'm listening to Slice Time for episode 324.
00:15:19
Speaker 19: Where Reggie here has left 50 talkbacks, and I think you need some merch that says Reggie here, just like the FUH77.
00:15:27
Speaker 3: What do you think? I'd buy it.
00:15:31
Speaker 14: All right, Slice for Life!
00:15:34
Speaker 2: The only thing is we'd have to split our profits with Reggie at that point. You realize that? No, we don't. We don't have to say what Reggie it is. Don't forget, we have black Reggie listening also. If we made a shirt that said Reggie here, you don't think that Reggie would look for residuals? No, but you know who would? Skylar. Brooklyn Bulls.
00:15:52
Speaker 3: Ball from Jersey.
00:15:54
Speaker 5: Episode 390.
00:15:54
Speaker 20: Catching up on the podcast.
00:15:55
Speaker 14: Been traveling a lot.
00:15:57
Speaker 5: Sydney Sweeney, whatever the fuck her name is. That whole thing Scary's talking about.
00:16:01
Speaker 3: Hey, listen, man. I really don't give a shit. It's just that people are pissed.
00:16:06
Speaker 20: Off at her for downplaying what it's like to be an athlete or to become an elite athlete.
00:16:13
Speaker 3: In some interviews, she did. So I guess what it is, I really don't.
00:16:16
Speaker 5: Give a shit.
00:16:18
Speaker 3: Don't even know what app it's for. Never even seen the app.
00:16:21
Speaker 2: Well, he continues. He's not done yet.
00:16:26
Speaker 3: All from Jersey.
00:16:27
Speaker 20: Episode 390.
00:16:29
Speaker 3: On this whole Sweeney fucking thing. Scary.
00:16:33
Speaker 20: Are you trying to mansplain something about women athletes and how they feel about this whole thing? Bro, you can't walk up a set of stairs without pulling a hamstring.
00:16:45
Speaker 2: That's true.
00:16:45
Speaker 9: You're talking about athletes.
00:16:47
Speaker 20: That have been doing this shit forever and then being pissed off about being sexualized.
00:16:51
Speaker 5: You know nothing about that. Nobody sexualizes you. You're trying to man.
00:16:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much. Well, that's not true. There's listeners who sexualize him. Listen, don't forget, Scary injured his back when he yawned wrong. That is correct. You remember that. You remember that.
00:17:06
Speaker 3: Liam here, throwback.
00:17:08
Speaker 2: Okay, he's playing the bug sounds on his own.
00:17:10
Speaker 3: At this point. I knew I was going to do that.
00:17:14
Speaker 2: And Brody, I heard the pornhub sound.
00:17:17
Speaker 3: I heard it. You funny.
00:17:20
Speaker 2: Anyways, I heard it.
00:17:22
Speaker 9: By the way, all your last shows have been hilarious.
00:17:26
Speaker 3: Main shows, talkbacks, everything. It's just funny. Thank you, guys. Take care, okay?
00:17:33
Speaker 2: We have a real fan in Liam.
00:17:35
Speaker 9: Liam here.
00:17:37
Speaker 2: Liam and the Bugs.
00:17:38
Speaker 9: With the lifeguarding interviews. So, my parents were in a car when I was 17, okay? And I was 18 later on. So, the number one thing with interviewing... uh, lifeguards is their mindset and attitude.
00:17:56
Speaker 2: Where are they?
00:17:57
Speaker 9: Do they give a shit about their job? If they don't, tell them to get off, get out of the office. I got another cut, cut two.
00:18:04
Speaker 2: I got another one. Uh-oh.
00:18:08
Speaker 3: Liam here with, about lifeguards.
00:18:10
Speaker 2: That's three.
00:18:10
Speaker 9: And if the children, like I did, I grew up and I did another job. I was waterfront and indoors. So, the mindset, the training, Do they stick to their training? Do they care? Do they give a shit? And another thing is, why are you calling two Jews up and asking them how to do your job?
00:18:34
Speaker 2: You should do your job by the period.
00:18:37
Speaker 9: Huh?
00:18:37
Speaker 2: Huh? Liam here, Steve. What are you talking about? Uh-oh. You're by yourself.
00:18:43
Speaker 9: It's a whole party in the YMCA and Red Cross. There's 15 plus people. I don't know what you're talking about. But if you're talking about by yourself, it's a little weird. You're supposed to have multiple managers with you and your trainees. I don't know what you're talking about. So make that make sense. All I'm going to say is train.
00:19:20
Speaker 2: That was four. That was four. So you're supposed to give him the jingle if he does a fifth. I sensed a fifth one coming. Is there another one? Let's see. Is there another one?
00:19:32
Speaker 3: Liam here again. Steve, listen.
00:19:33
Speaker 9: Uh-oh.
00:19:35
Speaker 2: He got Red Cross training. I knew it. I had you know. You didn't even let it.
00:19:50
Speaker 2: I could tell it was the middle of a thought and it was five seconds left. There was another one coming. That was five, Liam. Come on, man. Come on. Two Jews on the phone. Who is this? Okay, next. Brody can't even afford a $ 45 shirt.
00:20:06
Speaker 9: Oh, shit.
00:20:08
Speaker 16: What makes you think he can afford a $ 5, 000 website name?
00:20:12
Speaker 2: Because it's an investment in his business. That's why. It's what he does for a living. This is his craft. I mean, is it not? If we made enough money on this podcast for me to spend $ 5, 000 on the name of a website, we'd be doing okay.
00:20:28
Speaker 3: Wow, scary.
00:20:32
Speaker 16: Wow.
00:20:34
Speaker 3: You're showing your Republican colors there, buddy.
00:20:39
Speaker 4: What?
00:20:40
Speaker 2: I guess Mexico only speaks Spanish, huh? No, no habla ingles.
00:20:47
Speaker 4: No, no, no.
00:20:49
Speaker 2: No, senor. What does that have to do with anything? Skiri's not political. He just has opinions. I don't even think he votes ever, so I wouldn't say he's got a particular party. Also, no idea what that was in reference to, but thank you.
00:21:04
Speaker 3: Skiri, I wholeheartedly.
00:21:06
Speaker 17: 100%, 200%, as you say, agree with you.
00:21:12
Speaker 16: Madonna should never have.
00:21:13
Speaker 14: Won any awards.
00:21:18
Speaker 17: But I also 100%, 200%, as you say, agree with the listeners.
00:21:25
Speaker 2: You do look like a thumb.
00:21:26
Speaker 3: Just saying.
00:21:27
Speaker 5: A thumb?
00:21:29
Speaker 2: Okay, thanks. My God.
00:21:32
Speaker 17: Brody, for this to be that last E, Educational.
00:21:39
Speaker 2: You have to be right. Just saying. Okay.
00:21:48
Speaker 3: Clever, though.
00:21:49
Speaker 4: Hey, B-Boys. Teresa from Vero Beach, Florida, formerly Woodbridge, New Jersey, again. Hey, Skiri, you were talking about Madonna and the conversation about her winning the VMAs. And you said, I said what I said. Quoting Doja Cat again, I see.
00:22:15
Speaker 2: Have a great one. She's, she's, Teresa's hip with the music. She's like really up to date. I love that. I love that about you.
00:22:25
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:22:27
Speaker 5: Heather from Michigan.
00:22:28
Speaker 12: I don't know about big buddy balls, but growing up, I definitely had big sister balls. My sister would always get me into instances where we would want to fight, and she'd always say, they're making fun of your hair.
00:22:45
Speaker 3: Do you see that? They're talking about your hair.
00:22:48
Speaker 12: And get my little attitude up in check.
00:22:52
Speaker 3: So I blame my older sister.
00:22:54
Speaker 2: Okay, big sister balls? I guess.
00:23:00
Speaker 4: Heather from Michigan.
00:23:01
Speaker 2: Again, what's up?
00:23:03
Speaker 3: Speaking of things that you grow.
00:23:06
Speaker 12: My oldest daughter begged me to grow pumpkins back when she was in junior high.
00:23:12
Speaker 4: She's now going to be 25.
00:23:14
Speaker 12: And this year, we have not planted pumpkins since because they take over everything and they have these little porky spines on the vines. This year, I have a random pumpkin growing.
00:23:32
Speaker 2: Okay. Thank you. Is there more to it? Uh, no. Looks like that was the end of that. So just an old pumpkin seed started growing. Very nice. And it's a good season for it. Pumpkin season. It's pumpkin season. We'll be right back.
00:23:49
Speaker 9: The Brooklyn Boys Podcast.
00:23:52
Speaker 1: We will be right.
00:23:55
Speaker 3: Back.
00:23:55
Speaker 2: Okay. Who's up next? Moving on. Moving right along. Muppets. Muppets. Exactly. By the way, have you seen the guy?
00:24:05
Speaker 3: The guy who?
00:24:05
Speaker 2: Sorry, have you seen the guy? I sent you videos. He's a guy who has a Kermit the Frog Muppet puppet on his hand.
00:24:14
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:24:15
Speaker 2: And he does, he sings different songs about different things, but if they were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. No, no, I've not seen him. Like he does Rainbow Connection by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He did a song about the Mets season ending. He's tremendous. Look for that. The frog sings like Lin-Manuel Miranda. Okay. Hey, guys.
00:24:39
Speaker 11: So this is Corey from Wisconsin. I'm not really a farmer per se, but my dad's got like 10 acres, and I go out there every couple days or so and help him in his giant garden. He's got freeze vegetables, can them, make jams, all that kind of good stuff. Awesome. We get eggs from the farmer and beef and chickens and pork from the farmer. You don't really buy stuff in the grocery store, but... You know, you can leave farm fresh eggs that are unwashed out on the.
00:25:10
Speaker 2: Out on the what?
00:25:13
Speaker 11: Can leave those eggs on the counter for a couple. OK, well, weeks because they have like a coating on them and they don't need to be refrigerated unless you wash that coating off like the eggs in the grocery store. But all that stuff is just better.
00:25:28
Speaker 9: It tastes better.
00:25:29
Speaker 2: It's cheaper. It looks better.
00:25:31
Speaker 14: Yeah.
00:25:33
Speaker 11: But I will also mention quick, there's something called an arrow garden. It's like a little box with pods in it and a light above it. You can plant stuff like tomatoes and peppers in that arrow garden and sprout that from seed. And then you can just have it on your kitchen counter. It doesn't even have to be by a window. But you could just put it in a pot and, you know, get a table, put it outside, whatever. And you can grow all kinds of vegetables if you want right in your house.
00:26:03
Speaker 2: Have it.
00:26:04
Speaker 11: I mean, it's good stuff. So, yeah, I don't know. Do what you can. Get eggs from Scotty.
00:26:10
Speaker 9: Yes.
00:26:11
Speaker 11: Seems to like that.
00:26:12
Speaker 4: So, all right.
00:26:14
Speaker 3: Thank you.
00:26:15
Speaker 2: Appreciate you. Yeah, thank you, Corey. That was not only entertaining, it was engaging and also educational. It's three E's right there.
00:26:24
Speaker 12: Brooklyn boys, Paul.
00:26:27
Speaker 2: Paul from Jersey.
00:26:29
Speaker 3: What's going on?
00:26:32
Speaker 5: Uh, Brody, I got a question for you. You go to a lot of restaurants. But, dude, you guys start giving out names, man. Making me hungry. It's 530 in the morning.
00:26:44
Speaker 20: You're talking about great Chinese food and, boy, you went on the favorite menu.
00:26:48
Speaker 9: Where is this place?
00:26:49
Speaker 5: I want to be able to go to these places.
00:26:50
Speaker 2: Tell me. Tell me now.
00:26:54
Speaker 9: Brooklyn, boy.
00:26:56
Speaker 3: Go ahead.
00:26:57
Speaker 2: Oh, it's Paul from Jersey.
00:27:00
Speaker 5: Scary.
00:27:01
Speaker 14: You are your own chicken?
00:27:04
Speaker 5: So the eggs are pure? Bro, you can't keep a fucking plant alive. And you need to raise chickens. You got to feed them.
00:27:11
Speaker 2: You got to water them.
00:27:13
Speaker 12: Give them water.
00:27:14
Speaker 9: Holy shit, bro.
00:27:15
Speaker 5: Those chickens will be dead in two hours.
00:27:19
Speaker 2: You're not wrong. That's why I don't have any. And then he'd have chicken palms. See, it's a win-win. Hey, if you want, I don't mention restaurant names specifically because they're very local and this is a national podcast, obviously. But if you're interested, just DM me on Instagram at David Brody and I'll tell you the restaurants if I remember them.
00:27:36
Speaker 3: Brooklyn Boys. Yeah, on the topic of growing.
00:27:39
Speaker 8: When the kids are in bed or they haven't woken up yet or maybe they're downstairs watching a show and my wife gives me that look, I start growing.
00:27:50
Speaker 3: Since you guys asked.
00:27:55
Speaker 2: Now, do you have to water it? I'm just curious. That was a good old-fashioned dick joke, ladies and gentlemen. Appreciate you. What?
00:28:06
Speaker 14: Hey, sorry, man.
00:28:08
Speaker 2: Oh, you're under the weather?
00:28:09
Speaker 3: My talkbacks were off last week.
00:28:10
Speaker 2: I had a cold.
00:28:11
Speaker 3: Still kind of sick, but I guess.
00:28:13
Speaker 16: I don't get the song game with the uncommon words, you know, like scary. You say first situation, yes, and Brody doesn't like that one.
00:28:21
Speaker 3: Let's try this one.
00:28:24
Speaker 2: I'm saying, that's not even a real person. That's a pop culture phenomenon.
00:28:28
Speaker 3: Okay, a little cool joke.
00:28:30
Speaker 15: Something like a phenomenon.
00:28:34
Speaker 2: Something like a phenomenon.
00:28:35
Speaker 3: He's right.
00:28:36
Speaker 2: Something like a phenomenon.
00:28:37
Speaker 9: Thank you.
00:28:38
Speaker 2: Appreciate that. He's always on the lookout. That was good. Although we don't want to do too many of them because some people don't need to get upset. Yeah, people getting upset now. They don't like the wordplay. They don't like the song call-outs.
00:28:53
Speaker 3: Ah. All right.
00:28:56
Speaker 16: And Brody, you were saying during the last slice time when Mr. Juan Valdez came on, you said, how is he always at the end? Well, I think I know. I think Juan is a smart guy. He doesn't want his talk back to get lost, so he waits for Sunday because you guys usually record on Monday. I usually do Saturday, like right now, because I think one time you did it on a Sunday, and one time you're saying you're going to do it on a Sunday, but I can't speak for Juan, but I think that's what he's doing.
00:29:22
Speaker 3: He doesn't want his talk back to get deleted.
00:29:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, fair. There's a method to the madness. We'll appreciate it. But if it helps you at all, we're not doing sliced tummies on Sundays. That's not a thing. Well, yeah, you know what? I would like to make you think. Especially during football season. Not during football season. Screw that. Oh, yeah, forget it. You'll never get Brody into the fucking... Nah. Sorry, watching the Red Zone channel. You'll never get him in front of a microphone on a Sunday during football.
00:29:46
Speaker 3: Brody, I'm not going to let.
00:29:48
Speaker 16: You get away with this on 391. You keep trying to get out of this. I'm coming to the other slice of defense here. Here's the audio.
00:29:59
Speaker 2: Well, after the first game, and I think he meant it's a tribute, but he made up a word.
00:30:05
Speaker 16: He made up a word. So you're saying there that tribulation is not a word. You're saying he made up the word tribulation.
00:30:14
Speaker 2: I'm going to use the word wrong. I was wrong in using those words. What I meant was in his mind, he made up a word. It wasn't the word that fit there. I know tribulation is a word. I don't think there's anyone who legitimately thinks that I didn't know tribulation was a word. What I'm saying is he put the wrong word in and I said he made up a word. What I meant was he made up a word in his mind that fit the situation. I didn't mean it wasn't... Let's move on. Are you done with that shovel yet there, Brody? No, I was wrong in the choice of words I used, but I know what the word tribulation means. I love the passion. Let him go. Here we go.
00:30:59
Speaker 16: Here's another one.
00:31:00
Speaker 3: Right here.
00:31:01
Speaker 16: Listen to this, Brody.
00:31:03
Speaker 2: That is an unbelievable use of a word that doesn't exist.
00:31:07
Speaker 20: It does exist, Brody.
00:31:09
Speaker 3: You were wrong.
00:31:10
Speaker 16: You said tribulation does not exist.
00:31:14
Speaker 2: Again. Brody's so butthurt right now. No, I'm not butthurt. I was wrong in the words I used. Obviously, tribulation is a word. I meant it's not a word that fits that sentence, and I misspoke. Listen, we are free-flowing here for an hour and 20 minutes every week. No edits. No edits. The words come out a little jumbled. I apologize. I was wrong in the words I used. And also, at the same time, you know what the word tribulation means. Okay, continue. I just meant he fucked it up. But listen, if it gives you guys content and you're excited about it, then mission accomplished.
00:31:48
Speaker 19: Reporting live from the Wegmans in Montville, New Jersey.
00:31:51
Speaker 3: Reggie.
00:31:52
Speaker 17: Scary.
00:31:52
Speaker 19: I looked up, and in the produce section is lion's mane mushroom.
00:31:58
Speaker 2: That's right.
00:31:59
Speaker 19: Pre-packaged. It's furry, it looks like. I guess that's where it gets the name mane from. $ 3. 99. Scary, you can get it here for $ 399.
00:32:13
Speaker 21: You don't have to do the $ 1, 000 subscription.
00:32:15
Speaker 2: I gave up on that anyway. It was too expensive. But thank you. $ 399 for the lion's mane. He'll forget about that in about a day.
00:32:25
Speaker 14: And now it's Sunday.
00:32:26
Speaker 16: So I might be interrupting Juan Valdez, but I can't figure out what the difference is between entertaining and engaging. Like, how could you be entertaining but not engaged? How could you be engaged but you're not entertained? Those seem very redundant.
00:32:46
Speaker 2: Very simple. If I fart, that's entertaining. But are you engaged for 20 minutes listening to one fart?
00:32:52
Speaker 3: No.
00:32:53
Speaker 2: Engaging means you can't get out of your car because you're listening to an interview, right? Like when Howard Stern does interviews, I'm so engaged that I sit in the car and I listen. Now, yes, I'm also entertained.
00:33:04
Speaker 9: Right.
00:33:05
Speaker 2: But you can be entertained but not engaged. You can hear, like, the hook of a song and go, oh, that was entertaining, and then go, I hate the rest of the song. That's not engaging.
00:33:13
Speaker 3: Asian Mike! Oh, he's sending them all over again.
00:33:14
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:33:29
Speaker 3: Sorry for being on hiatus. Hey trucker, thanks for the welfare check.
00:33:33
Speaker 2: We're going to skip this. We played them already. You heard them. Rifka, tattoos. All of that. There he is. Scary Jones.
00:33:44
Speaker 3: Entertaining.
00:33:45
Speaker 2: Educating. I don't give a fuck. Uh, growing shit, yes. You can grow any root vegetables. Celery, onions, garlic, anything that has a root.
00:34:08
Speaker 18: Potatoes, anything that has a root, you can grow.
00:34:13
Speaker 2: What is wrong with you? See, I was waiting for the insult at the end. He couldn't just leave it right there and just be informative. Uh, yeah. I mean, listen, I didn't know, but okay. It's all good. Uh, what's going on here?
00:34:28
Speaker 5: Tumeric.
00:34:29
Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
00:34:32
Speaker 2: He's continuing on.
00:34:33
Speaker 12: I don't know.
00:34:33
Speaker 2: It's a root vegetable. You put it in the ground, it'll grow back. I know, yes.
00:34:39
Speaker 18: Gary Jones, I don't know where you've been living, but on Earth, yucca.
00:34:48
Speaker 3: I don't know.
00:34:49
Speaker 18: Anything that you put in the ground will grow back.
00:34:52
Speaker 2: Apples. Green peppers. I have grown my own green peppers and I eat them. Delicious. Tomatoes.
00:35:00
Speaker 3: Okay. All right.
00:35:05
Speaker 2: What do you know? It's more Juan Valdez. And it's scary.
00:35:11
Speaker 18: Scary Jones, you have not cut Lorena off.
00:35:14
Speaker 2: I did not.
00:35:15
Speaker 18: This designer bitch still stealing money from you.
00:35:18
Speaker 2: She's still working for you.
00:35:20
Speaker 18: Scary Jones, I know she's your friend and I know you say blah, blah, blah. Remember, in the state of New Jersey, a verbal contract is a contract. Scary Jones, I want to save you from thousands.
00:35:36
Speaker 2: And thousands of dollars of contracts. Thank you, Juan. I appreciate that you are looking out for my well-being. He's looking out for you, and he didn't curse you this time, so it's a win-win.
00:35:50
Speaker 18: On Brody's point of saying, oh, the TikTok live and whatever and the whatnot. Yes, I sometimes do go TikTok live.
00:36:00
Speaker 2: Go follow me.
00:36:01
Speaker 3: Go give me.
00:36:02
Speaker 2: Gifts and hearts and all the shit.
00:36:05
Speaker 15: But none of you do.
00:36:05
Speaker 9: Yeah.
00:36:06
Speaker 18: Every day my door alive, nobody shows up. I have zero views, zero likes, zero hearts. So that's my gift gallery.
00:36:14
Speaker 2: A big-ass zero. Harmless out. The gift gal. Thank you for the heart, man.
00:36:19
Speaker 3: Thank you.
00:36:19
Speaker 2: That was four, by the way.
00:36:21
Speaker 9: Yep.
00:36:22
Speaker 2: He was good.
00:36:25
Speaker 19: Brody, I made a couple of reels on Facebook of... Things I've done are things happening to me, and I've been taking them. What would Brody do? And I just want you to know that everyone is disappointed in all of my decisions, and they feel Brody would not do any of the stuff, and Brody would demand compensation. So I'm trying to be better.
00:36:51
Speaker 21: Everybody else, what would Brody do?
00:36:55
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:36:58
Speaker 12: Brooklyn, boys.
00:37:01
Speaker 6: TV from NC with the motherfucking background noise. And I'm sorry about my last talkbacks that came through all types of different fucked up. I got some new headphones and they were a little expensive. I'm not going to call out the brand. They were expensive and they just came out. And the motherfuckers sound like that when I go to.
00:37:16
Speaker 2: Leave a fucking talkback.
00:37:18
Speaker 6: But yet my $ 15 fucking cheap ass Amazon headphones sound like this.
00:37:23
Speaker 2: Fucked up anyway.
00:37:26
Speaker 15: Anyway, I was talking about.
00:37:29
Speaker 6: Person bringing the coffee into the job interview on that last talk back that came in all fucked up. And I was trying to say, well, you know, what if it's like a single mom of three kids working three jobs?
00:37:39
Speaker 3: She need that coffee.
00:37:41
Speaker 2: You know, she need to take a sip of that something to get through her day.
00:37:43
Speaker 6: But also she could be walking into the job interview to change her life. And that way she wouldn't have to work three jobs.
00:37:49
Speaker 2: And drink coffee all damn day and shit like that. All right. Finish the coffee in the lobby. No one says don't drink coffee. Just don't come in with a Danish and a croissant and a scone. Don't bring it into the room. That's all. You can drink it anywhere else.
00:38:06
Speaker 3: Alright, alright, alright.
00:38:07
Speaker 2: I'm done after this one. All right, Darren Matthews. I just got to say, yo, fuck Madonna, all right?
00:38:12
Speaker 6: And everyone who's coming at Scary over Madonna, yo, fuck you too, all right? I'll be 24 in December. I don't even know who this bitch is, all right? I couldn't tell you what she looks like. I can't name one of her fucking songs. I had no idea that she dropped a fucking album this year. And I listen to Elvis during the morning show every fucking day. So I listen to.
00:38:29
Speaker 2: Some pop music. I hear pop culture shit.
00:38:31
Speaker 6: I had no idea Madonna fucking was even still around.
00:38:34
Speaker 3: She's 70 years old. Who gives a fuck?
00:38:36
Speaker 4: Fuck off.
00:38:37
Speaker 2: Go retire. All right, well, she is iconic, and she does deserve her flowers, but just not these awards for this calendar year for 2026. She deserves her flowers, but she's not quite pushing up daisies yet. Exactly. All right. Continuing along, we have about maybe five more of these left.
00:39:02
Speaker 5: Morning, fellas.
00:39:02
Speaker 15: Vinny from Brooklyn.
00:39:04
Speaker 2: What up, Vinny?
00:39:06
Speaker 15: Scary couldn't agree with you more about Madonna. She was a great artist throughout her career, but... And I don't even like Taylor Swift and half of the ones that you mentioned, but she definitely didn't deserve. It's all bullshit. But anyway, going on. The way you read those comments was hysterical. There's a guy on Instagram. I don't know his name. I was looking him up. I couldn't find him, but... he reads like funny signs in a medieval voice that's what okay I'm sitting here cracking up he's excellent his comments they're so stupid fucking retarded but the funniest one was that J-Lo is a great artist maybe a good dancer And that's as far as it goes. She's a terrible singer and an even worse actress. She's got great star power.
00:39:57
Speaker 3: That's it.
00:40:00
Speaker 2: All right. I'm not a fan of J-Lo. We don't have any comment on that. Just going to move on.
00:40:09
Speaker 15: About the green onions.
00:40:10
Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
00:40:12
Speaker 15: My wife does it all the time. She also does it with other stuff too, but. We also have a huge garden, like 1,500 square feet. Grow all kinds of stuff. Peppers, berries, tomatoes, squash, asparagus, all kinds of herbs. I mean, my wife has like a full, full garden. She can pretty much throughout the summer and into the fall. We don't really buy anything. And sometimes even after that. But yeah, it's a good thing to do, bro. And it tastes good.
00:40:41
Speaker 2: All right. Thank you. Very nice. I wish I had the space, you know? I live in an apartment. Let me tell you, all the years that we had a house and a backyard, I don't think we ever grew anything. I think maybe we grew a couple of tomatoes in a pot once, but I don't recall. Maybe once we planted something. It requires upkeep and attention. I mean, you can't just, like, leave for Ibiza and just not tend to the garden. Well, let me just say this. In all the years we owned a home, we never left for Ibiza.
00:41:13
Speaker 6: Okay.
00:41:14
Speaker 2: That's not an issue.
00:41:16
Speaker 15: We also just went this last weekend in September to the garlic festival up in New York.
00:41:21
Speaker 8: In the Catskills.
00:41:23
Speaker 15: My parents have a house up that way by Hunter Mountain and we go every year. My wife buys a whole ton of garlic. Every clove that you plant in the ground gives you a new head of garlic. So it's like all organic, like locally grown farms. So she'll buy a couple dozen heads of garlic and plant them in our thing and we have garlic for the entire year. You plant them now and.
00:41:46
Speaker 2: That's awesome. Again, wish I had the space. Wish I had the time. I feel like you should grow some garlic, though, in that little box with the light. I think you should grow some garlic. Okay. You know what you do? Talk to Lorena. Figure out if you can get a $ 1, 000 box to grow garlic in. Perfect. Her designer, Bougie. you know, designer garlic from flange and crunch garlic grower. Yeah. That's right.
00:42:10
Speaker 3: Hey, Brooklyn boys, Jamie from Queens here.
00:42:12
Speaker 21: I was listening to episode three 92 with my fiance. He heard the way you described that expensive lamp, scary with the stick, with the hat. And he wanted me to ask if it's the leg lamp from a Christmas story.
00:42:27
Speaker 12: I wish.
00:42:28
Speaker 2: No, the leg lamp. That's hysterical. I know that with the stockings.
00:42:34
Speaker 12: Yeah.
00:42:34
Speaker 18: Yeah.
00:42:34
Speaker 2: This is a floor lamp. It's a pretty tall lamp. But anyway, man, I wish I had that lamp. I would, I probably wouldn't sell it.
00:42:42
Speaker 14: Hey, book boys, Jamie from Queens. Let's ask what we grow in our apartments. I don't currently grow anything in my place, but my dad used to grow mint, different types of tomato, uh, He.
00:42:58
Speaker 21: Grew different types of peppers.
00:42:59
Speaker 3: Peppers.
00:43:00
Speaker 21: Like there were times where he would make himself an omelet for lunch and he would go grab a couple of fresh jalapenos off the plant, wash them, cut them up and.
00:43:09
Speaker 14: Put them in the omelet.
00:43:10
Speaker 3: Wow.
00:43:11
Speaker 2: Okay. That's awesome. Didn't know that. I didn't see. We have growers here listening to our podcast. We have any showers? No showers.
00:43:20
Speaker 6: One guy.
00:43:21
Speaker 2: Just one guy. One guy with his wife.
00:43:23
Speaker 12: Yeah.
00:43:23
Speaker 2: He showed. He showed. Last one.
00:43:27
Speaker 1: Brooklyn Boys, T-White.
00:43:29
Speaker 2: T-White.
00:43:30
Speaker 5: Hey.
00:43:31
Speaker 1: The Rodecaster 1 is still in fine working order. Still has all the sound that Scary left in it from the Brooklyn Boys podcast. The jingles are not in it, though, so he never brought the jingles home on that one.
00:43:43
Speaker 2: Never brought them home.
00:43:44
Speaker 3: But, yeah, still works.
00:43:46
Speaker 2: And it still has all the sounds. Can you bring home the listen in order jingle? Yeah, I'll bring that one home for you. And the Jimmy Fallon one? Okay.
00:43:55
Speaker 20: All right.
00:43:56
Speaker 2: And the Sebastian Maniscalco.
00:43:57
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:43:58
Speaker 2: And all of it.
00:43:58
Speaker 14: Yes.
00:43:59
Speaker 2: All of them.
00:43:59
Speaker 12: All of them.
00:44:00
Speaker 3: All right.
00:44:01
Speaker 2: Thank you so much for your talk backs. We appreciate you. We really do. Even though sometimes it seems like we don't, but we do.
00:44:08
Speaker 3: No, always.
00:44:18
Speaker 2: Getting sliced reactions. Talk who's wrong, who's right. This podcast all depends on you.
00:44:24
Speaker 3: Talkbacks are phenomenal.
00:44:26
Speaker 12: Baby.
00:44:26
Speaker 2: Tell all the friends you could be on.
00:44:29
Speaker 15: It's slice time.
00:44:32
Speaker 3: Free dessert.
Speaker 1: It's Brooklyn Boys Slice Time for.
00:00:13
Speaker 2: Episodes 392 and beyond.
00:00:16
Speaker 3: Welcome.
00:00:36
Speaker 2: Episode what? Of who? Episode 392 of the Brooklyn Boys podcast. That's what I said. 392 of the Brooklyn Boys. Say it with like oomph.
00:00:46
Speaker 4: Everybody.
00:00:48
Speaker 2: Double up. Welcome to Slice Time. TheBrooklynBoysPodcast.com In your face. The Brooklyn Boys. Put some spec on that. I'm going to put some spec on it. It's the Brooklyn Boys podcast. Episode 392. And beyond. Thank you for your feedback. Let me just double check. We have Riz, right? We got Riz. We got Riz. All right. And Raz. We got Razimataz. We got all of it. And we do have a website. TheBrooklynBoysPodcast.com. You can go there for, I don't know. Brody, tell them what's there because I haven't been yet. Seriously? Well, I know you could listen to episodes of the show. Check out the colorful graphics. There's an easy link to our merchandise store, which, by the way, sales were a little slow last month. Need to pick that up. Go to thebrooklynboyspodcast.com. Click on merch.
