Speaker 2: I don't know.

00:00:58
Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, man, But we've been doing this nine years. Is that it's just wild to think. I mean, we've come so far, yet we're still in the same goddamn place.

00:01:09
Speaker 2: We were nine years ago. Yeah, yeah, you're in the same place. I'm not. You're not.

00:01:14
Speaker 1: You've fallen off the ladder. David Brody get back, Yeah, Beatles. Thank you everyone for who's been sticking with us for all this time, and thank you for everyone who's joined us along the way.

Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you all. We do appreciate it. Man.

00:01:31
Speaker 1: A lot happened this past week, but I have to start with the headline news because everybody I kept teasing on Slice time.

00:01:41
Speaker 2: Oh you brought the jingles home? Oh yeah about that. Yeah, we'll get to that later on.

00:01:46
Speaker 1: No, I was talking about the breaking of the glass, and I'm not talking about the when you step on at Jewish weddings, all right, Yeah, now you know that my window broke, as you know, and we thought a bird hit it.

00:01:59
Speaker 2: And after after.

00:02:01
Speaker 1: We found I said, I said drone.

00:02:05
Speaker 2: A lot of other people said I had a lot of other things.

00:02:07
Speaker 1: But when the glass guy came to do the measurements, he's I said, yeah this, you know, a bird must have flew into this.

00:02:14
Speaker 2: You know the outer.

00:02:15
Speaker 1: Pane of the two panes of the window. You know it's a double double glass. He has a lot of what are you talking about man. He goes, it's the inner pain that broke. I'm like, huh. He goes, yeah, look at it. Run your finger through here with me. I was like, holy shit, my super gave me the wrong diagnosis.

00:02:32
Speaker 2: When he came here.

00:02:34
Speaker 1: The glass guy said, no, it's it's the inner pain. The it was the inner pain that broke, making it absolutely impossible for debris, a bird, a drone, anything. Okay, So it's defective. Is the building gonna pay? The call is coming from inside the building people?

00:02:50
Speaker 2: And can they fix it inside the building?

00:02:52
Speaker 1: And I and and and when I was on the phone with chair during the storm and I heard the bang, there was nothing near the when know my shades were closed. It just some spontaneous combustion. They were storing the storm.

00:03:08
Speaker 2: So okay.

00:03:08
Speaker 1: And when they fix it from the inside now, no, they can't fix them. Not no, still can't fix the inside. What what cock eyed moron designed your building? Some Chinese company and the guy and apparently there are people suing.

00:03:21
Speaker 2: Him, and he ran to China. If that's possible. He flew to China. And you could run to China, but you're gonna get wet, yeah, exactly. He flew to China a hole. You could dig a hole. Remember that when we were kids, to dig a hole, I always wondered, Yeah, when I was a kid. I don't think it lines up.

00:03:38
Speaker 1: It doesn't line up right. No, if you dig a hole straight down, do you China?

00:03:44
Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know.

00:03:45
Speaker 1: Like I mean, I could google it. It's a long hole. Where where would we Where would we end up? Ask ask chat dig a hole in the Western hemisphere to end up in China?

00:03:56
Speaker 2: See, I don't think so. I think the opposite side of the world is I think you're in an.

00:04:00
Speaker 1: Ocean Argentina, Chili and Paraguay.

00:04:04
Speaker 2: Is that right?

00:04:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, huh so it has nothing to do with China. But I was always that was always the thing when we were kids. You up in China if you dig.

00:04:13
Speaker 2: A hole far and okay, let's find hold a hold on.

00:04:16
Speaker 1: If you were in New York and dug a hole straight down, what part of the globe would you come out?

00:04:23
Speaker 2: See what it says.

00:04:25
Speaker 1: You just said, Argentina Southern No, I said, you'd have to be in those places to get to China. If you if you dug a hole from oh yeah, common myth. Uh Many people the United States, grow up hearing digging a hole it.

00:04:39
Speaker 2: Would lead you to China. Where does it lead?

00:04:42
Speaker 3: Uh?

00:04:43
Speaker 1: If you dig a hole in the northern hemisphere, going straight through the center of the Earth brings you out in the southern hemisphere. But China is also in the northern hemisphere. You would end up in the southern Indian Ocean.

00:04:54
Speaker 2: That's what I said. You end up in an ocean, not even on the land. Oh oh oh oh.

00:04:58
Speaker 1: Speaking of which, real quick, real quick, sidebar Brody tangent. What US state is closest to Africa? Okay, go ahead, go ahead.

00:05:10
Speaker 2: You'll never get it. Hawaii, No furthest oh furthest from Africa.

00:05:19
Speaker 1: No, No, Hawaii is the furthest oh uh? Florida No m uh.

00:05:26
Speaker 2: Well, you'll never get it New York and we'll have to google it New York. Why would New York? No, I don't know. It's got to be the It's got to be the Maine. Maine.

00:05:36
Speaker 1: Maine is closest to Africa, our northernmost state, because it's closest because it sticks out the the most east. Also because a map is flat and the globe isn't. So if you actually looked at the continents on a curved globe where things are actual size. America is turned in such a way that it's actually facing northeast. It's turned therefore it's turnt Main is the closest to any part of Africa, which is Morocco. That's pretty wild this week. I like that.

00:06:08
Speaker 2: That's a mind bender if I ever heard one. It's a globe bender. Yeah.

00:06:13
Speaker 1: So the Chinese scam building you're in. Yeah, the guy fled to China and there are people that want to sue him, so in this building. Yeah, well I understand that. Yeah, well, now you're out all that money now for your stupid window that broke on its own.

00:06:29
Speaker 2: That broke on its own. Windows can break, other windows can break on their own.

00:06:32
Speaker 1: Now, well, I'm gonna go knock on the guy the other guy's window to see how because it was also an inner inner inner pane, don't knock too hard because you'll break the window exactly well anyway, And if it's it's an inner by the way, it's it's an inner pain in your ass. Why why does it have to be fixed outside? If it's the inner glass.

00:06:48
Speaker 2: The way the building was built, there's a name.

00:06:51
Speaker 1: There's a name for the way this building was built, and there's there's a style in the design and all these windows were.

00:06:56
Speaker 2: Built in the outside. Let me google it.

00:06:57
Speaker 1: Hold on, it's called Soccerborne every minute esque. Yeah, okay, great, all right, so all right, moving on. I just I didn't want to make a big deal of that, just wanted to let everyone know you could stop with the talkbacks on that topic, because no, no, no, you need to update everybody. The price went up. Yeah, the price doubled double from twenty five hundred. Yeah, I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at you. You see the difference. No, there's no difference there. Oh my bad. You're supposed to say you're not laughing at me, you're laughing with me. No, i'm laughing at you. I'm just not laughing at you. I'm laughing at you.

00:07:32
Speaker 2: Oh okay, it.

00:07:34
Speaker 1: It's all in the way you phrase it. And speaking of phrasing. Yeah, I got one last thing for this one last thing. We just started this place this.

00:07:41
Speaker 2: For this break.

00:07:42
Speaker 1: So what's the famous performance hall on the Upper West Side?

00:07:49
Speaker 2: Huge place.

00:07:50
Speaker 1: Everyone goes to play there, like famous musicians go to play there on that radio city. Yeah, yeah, no, I know it's the Beacon, No, dude, not a concert hall. The Upper West Side is the Beacon, Chared, Okay, Carnegie Hall, right, that's not okay, but that's Midtown but okay, I want to it's Midtown, but it's yeah, okay, but it's it's not.

00:08:11
Speaker 2: Not the Upper west Side, right, okay, great, right, okay.

00:08:13
Speaker 1: So I want to play a clip for you and I I originally recorded this because I thought the woman was wrong. She's talking about the man, the oil baron, the the big billionaire who Carnegie Hall is named after him. Right, he was a very one of the richest men in America back in the in the in the day. Here she is talking about him on a news program. Yeah, hold on, hold on, hold on, to make it louder, very loud. Stop stop talking about.

00:08:42
Speaker 2: Somebody like Andrew Carnegie, act as if he is equal.

00:08:47
Speaker 1: To and she referred to him as Andrew Carnegie. So I recorded that, thinking, how does this woman on the news not know how to pronounce Andrew Carnegie, one of the most famous rich billionaire for his time. Are you about to Americans truth bombas and tell us that we've been pronouncing it wrong the whole time?

00:09:04
Speaker 2: At all time.

00:09:05
Speaker 1: For those people that live in western Pennsylvania who are screaming at your phone or your podcast device right now, Andrew Carnegie pronounced his name Carnegie.

00:09:16
Speaker 2: Oh my god.

00:09:18
Speaker 1: Carnegie Mellon University is actually located in Pittsburgh near Pittsburgh, also properly pronounced Andrew Carnegie or Carnegie Mellon University.

00:09:28
Speaker 2: Wow.

00:09:29
Speaker 1: And only New Yorkers or people familiar with Carnegie Hall pronounced it Carnegie. So when the sign went up, I can explained. When the sign went up on the Hall, people read it as Carnegie, and they kept calling it Carnegie because none of them knew how Andrew Carnegie pronounced his name, which was Carnegie.

00:09:46
Speaker 2: Now, not to be confused with the Carnegie Deli.

00:09:49
Speaker 1: Maybe that's what happened in New Yorkers because because that's the Carnegie Deli has nothing to.

00:09:53
Speaker 2: Do with it, all right.

00:09:54
Speaker 1: That Delhi was named after the Hall because it's around the corner.

00:09:56
Speaker 2: So that's the that was the Carnegie Deli.

00:09:59
Speaker 1: Well not it is the Carnegie Deli, but his name was Carnegie.

00:10:03
Speaker 2: So mind blown.

00:10:04
Speaker 1: It's like the Van Wick Expressway here in New York.

00:10:07
Speaker 2: It's van Wick.

00:10:10
Speaker 1: We hear in New York decided it was van Wick, but so I thought I got this one.

00:10:13
Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, Carnegie.

00:10:16
Speaker 1: In fact, there's a town in western Pennsylvania called Carnegie or County.

00:10:19
Speaker 2: Everybody's a Karnegi.

00:10:22
Speaker 1: When we come back, I'm gonna address something that I don't think you heard of yet. Brody, you didn't hear about this, but this went viral. I talked about it in the Morning Show, and the clip is is getting some traction because the crime that was committed was that big.

00:10:38
Speaker 2: And I'll let you know what it is right after I heard of it. I can't wait. Right after that, it's past. Yeah, Brody, I don't understand how science.

00:10:52
Speaker 1: No, I know where you where you draw the line when it comes to okay.

00:10:57
Speaker 2: Chicken palm.

00:10:57
Speaker 1: Chicken palm is one of our favorite subjects, isn't it?

00:11:00
Speaker 2: It is? It is? Actually yeah, huh, all right, I'm ready for this. You already know where I'm going with this.

00:11:07
Speaker 1: You may play the audio, you may or may not go Okay, well, let let me set this story.

00:11:11
Speaker 2: I'm gonna I got a bone to pick with you. A bone.

00:11:14
Speaker 1: There's no there's no bone in chicken palm either. So I went, it's not true. Some places serve bone in chicken palm, yeah, and bone invial palm, so that's not true.

00:11:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, well so I.

00:11:26
Speaker 1: Was at the Saint Anne's Feast in in in Hoboken. Now this is now when now you think of a feast here in the Northeast, especially a feast in the Northeast, you think of like the San Gennaro feasts in the North, A lot of Catholic you know, it's you know, the name, different Catholic saint. They usually walk a saint down the street. It's a street fair for those who don't know, it's just these are street fairs with serving ethnic food. A lot of it happens to be Italian, Italian based because of the Italian Catholic you know connection, and you know, although they welcome food from all over the world, especially at the San Gennaro one, but Saint Anne's Feast still tends to be you know, basically Italian Catholics. You got Tony sausage versus Anne Marie sausage over there, and then you got you know, whatever Italian pastry shop with their Canoi's festival with a lot of times belize things like that, So you would expect the food to be authentically Italian when you go to this this viral story. Yeah, this is a video that's well, it's kind of viral in our morning show. I mean, people, a lot of people have a lot of things to say about it, mostly on my side. But I ordered a chicken palm from one of the booths. They dropped chicken tenders in deep fried in oil. They came up from the oil. They put the fucking chicken tenders. They lined them up on a hero bread and they poured sauce and cheese on it. And they're about to hand it to me, and I'm like, no, no, no, no, I'm going to pass on that. I hate I don't like to get food back. I'm not that dude. This is my Name's not David Brody. I'm but this is a crime. I felt like calling the cops. It was the most despicable, disgusting, heinous act I think I've seen committed at one of these feasts. It was a place and I should have known better. The place was called Hoboken Kuchina and Catering. That was the name of the booth. And they tried to pa just through them under El Buso or alto boose.

00:13:31
Speaker 2: Anyway anyway, Yeah, so I'm sorry.

00:13:34
Speaker 1: But and there were people that actually would kind of going back and forth a little bit on it, saying, well, you know what, if you think about it, chicken tenders.

00:13:44
Speaker 2: Are basically white meat chicken, allegedly, and.

00:13:48
Speaker 1: You know they're they're they got some kind of a breading on them, and maybe the shape.

00:13:54
Speaker 2: Is off, and I'm like, no, no, no, no.

00:13:57
Speaker 1: Chicken palm starts with a chicken cutler, a continuous piece of breast meat that is usually pounded thin and then dipped in flour, egg and bread crumbs and then deep fried, so you have a real crispy cutlet. Then you could pour the sauce and cheese. Then you could play with it, call it what you want. But honestly, I was pissed because the side by side with the chicken.

00:14:23
Speaker 2: Palm on the chicken palm places around.

00:14:27
Speaker 1: On the menu on that same menu was chicken tenders and fries. So some if they some kid ordered chicken tenders, chicken tenders and honey mustard, and yeah, dipping them honey mustard and putting and with fries. It's the same shit they tried to pass the same shit.

00:14:46
Speaker 2: Off. But it's not the same thing.

00:14:48
Speaker 1: I had an Italian festival and there were catering companies where they're charging with fifteen for the sale or a chafing dish of chicken palm. Am I getting chicken fingers and cheese and sauce. That's what they would have given you. Chicken tenders tend to be flour like a flower batter and some bread crumbs and breading on a chicken. Right, chicken palm, if done properly, is Italian seasoned bread crumbs like egg, maybe some grated cheese. There's a certain crust to it. And you're using chicken breast. Correct chicken tenders. Now, by the way, I looked up a video explaining the differences between chicken tenders, chicken fingers, and chicken nuggets.

00:15:28
Speaker 2: So he listened to this woman's explanation.

00:15:29
Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, so you what you did here there, strip and tender. I did not know there was a difference. This is not a setup for a joke. I just learned this fun fact the other day and I googled it. So that's about as close to fact checking as we're gonna get. And apparently a chicken tender is made with the tenderloin of the chicken. Which, if this seems like basic knowledge to you, congratulations. I made it well into my thirties with a hearty appetite. And I had no idea. I thought we were just going on vibes, like the shape of the chicken tender strip finger for what we're gonna name it on the Kids Met you. But so the chicken tender comes from the tenderlin. Then the chicken strip is a strip of breast meat, and the chicken finger is basically the hot dog of the chicken shaped tendery whatever, because it's made with like all the different pieces compressed and put.

00:16:15
Speaker 2: Together, processed. And I always knew that.

00:16:17
Speaker 1: I really like the chicken strip.

00:16:19
Speaker 2: The bass that's love on the radio. Yeah, okay, well yeah, well well chicken. Yeah.

00:16:22
Speaker 1: You don't even know if you got a chicken strip, a chicken tender, or a chickenket.

00:16:26
Speaker 2: You don't know what you got. I don't know.

00:16:28
Speaker 1: I mean it looked like it looked like the stuff that is in the bag that you buy frozen and you just throw it, throw it in oil and deep fried.

00:16:37
Speaker 2: It wasn't at somebody's house.

00:16:38
Speaker 1: This was at an Italian feast where other people are serving legitimate chicken pia rights. Like literally ten feet away was Tony's Sausage and Peppers Fan, where he had the big fat spiral sausage, the big fatties. And what if he took a hot dog and threw sauce, threw peppers and onions on it, would.

00:16:54
Speaker 2: That make it a sausage?

00:16:55
Speaker 1: No, of course not. But this this place to a shortcut. And they were also serving fully cooked frozen meatballs.

00:17:09
Speaker 2: You mean, so they defrosted them.

00:17:11
Speaker 1: The ones that you're buying the free the frozen section of Walmart. You just you know, you go into the frozen section, you take the frozen, fully cooked meatballs out.

00:17:20
Speaker 2: They just throw them in the sauce and they heat them up.

00:17:22
Speaker 1: Oh, that's catering. That's a catering company that is an Italian.

00:17:25
Speaker 2: Like, that's shit. That shit reminds me.

00:17:27
Speaker 1: I'm not gonna mention the restaurant, but you know who the chef is. I went to a restaurant that had a special kind of spiral pasta. I talked about this a couple years ago. Yeah, and it was frozen in the middle, frozen, not cold. It was like ice chips in the middle of this spiral. I'm not gonna say where it was, but so you're telling me, not only wasn't it fresh, not only it was refrigerated, it was frozen and then served to me for a lot of money at a very nice restaurant. And your friend, you know the chef, because it's he's you know, I know, you know, because he's got a lot of restaurant yep. I was very surprised, very so you never know what kind of but this is ridiculous.

00:18:05
Speaker 2: I do have more of.

00:18:06
Speaker 1: A anyone who took their side that can serve chicken fingers doesn't know what chicken palm is. Because there were a few people that were debating it, They're like, well, I guess they can get away with it.

00:18:16
Speaker 2: Now. That's false advertising. That is, if you order a.

00:18:19
Speaker 1: Chicken cutlet sandwich and they put chicken tenders on your bread and call it a said, that's not the same thing. You want a chicken breast. The chicken cutlet sandwich is Italian breaded. This reminds me where my friend Scary cooked chicken at chicken Palm with Panco crumbs. That's all right, Now, here's my real problem with this. I'm gonna play a clip of scary on the morning show. Okay, talking about this very topic, right, Why why do we have to dwell on that? I just told the story, No, I want, I want. You would expect it to be chicken like pounded out cutlet with some sauce and some much and el cheese.

00:18:55
Speaker 2: Right yep, yes, hold on the culor needs to be breaded in my opinion, But go ahead, said of course. Okay. I ordered one from Hoboken.

00:19:03
Speaker 1: Cocina and Catering again on the radio, and they gave me chicken tendies.

00:19:10
Speaker 2: Did you hear that slices? Did you hear what he said? You want a chicken palm? Okay? When you want a chicken parm said you want? Okay, don't dwell on it.

00:19:21
Speaker 1: Chicken Tendy ordered chicken tendies like he's a twelve year old little kid. Well, I said that to illustrate my point that it was pathetic because the tendis chicken Tendy's is what you give a fucking kid, and I'm not a child, and I wanted real palm. So I was just really trying to paint the picture on that one. I was being cute really creative license.

00:19:41
Speaker 2: David Brody. I looked it up.

00:19:43
Speaker 1: The term tendis is short for tenders and reference to chicken tenders. It's shortened in the same intentionally childish your cute sea way as nuggies. Would you refer to them as nuggies, nuggies and tendies? Yeah, no, because that's for kids who eats fucking kids who eats fucking who eats chicken nuggets?

00:20:02
Speaker 2: Kids nuggies. I call them nuggies.

00:20:05
Speaker 1: You go to I'll go to Yeah, I'll go to uh chick for like and get some nuggets. They got great nuggets whatever they call them. Now, well, I go to mcdonald's'll get some.

00:20:13
Speaker 2: I give them the.

00:20:13
Speaker 1: Cutesy kid named mcnuggies because I'm trying to trying to diminish them. Because that's why you were trying to be hip, not a hip. I was just trying to try to be cool. By the way, speaking of hip, did you see them ever the Madonna moments in Times Square?

00:20:29
Speaker 2: No, did she fall she breaks her hip? No?

00:20:32
Speaker 1: No, But everybody's saying, oh, it's just Madonna trying to still still be hip, and everybody's commenting, no, at her rate, she's gonna break a hip. Hi.

00:20:38
Speaker 2: Oh you didn't see the performance?

00:20:41
Speaker 1: Oh it's not uh where and I saw him? The only performances sort of her recently. Is it the World Cup halftime? No, she was in Times Square at which, by the way, was her entire performance was pre taped. You were watching just a video and then at the last thirty seconds she comes out onto the field as if as she's ending the song.

00:21:03
Speaker 2: Really, yeah, did you not know that? I didn't watch it. Yeah.

00:21:07
Speaker 1: The whole thing was a fucking pre tape piece of bullshit video that with her in the car dancing with the guys and the people around her as she's like quote trying to make her way to the stage, you know, to make her way through the tunnel. Okay, that whole thing was pre taped, and then then when they cut to her coming out, they literally that was the last thirty seconds of her performance. Was her finally coming out onto the field.

00:21:35
Speaker 2: That was it.

00:21:35
Speaker 1: If you you guys could watch that back and see what I'm talking about. So there was literally a live shot of her just basically appeared on the field like Hi. So that's all she did live was just Hi, I'm Madonna, look at me? Look at me, everybody. Okay, I'm going back now. This is what This is what I heard. I haven't googled it, but that's what I heard. That of all the people that performed at the World Cup, including them pits, everyone got a huge bump on Spotify and social media except Madonna baddad.

00:22:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I don't know that. I don't know. They all got a big spike. And listen, God bless her.

00:22:12
Speaker 1: She wants to keep performing on ok I'm okay with that, but maybe don't dress like you know, with the crotch almost showing she's and she was.

00:22:20
Speaker 2: Listen, she's still not worse. Have you guys?

00:22:22
Speaker 1: Have you seen the Barry manelouc clips going around? No, we'll talk about Barry Manelone next break. Okay, I got a whole story about Barry Manelone. Oh. Well, you know he's been alive forever, he has and and he wrote the very first song. But he did not write the song. I write the songs.

00:22:38
Speaker 2: He did not. Who wrote that? Bruce Johnston? That Bruce Johnson? Who's that?

00:22:43
Speaker 3: It was?

00:22:43
Speaker 2: Johnston? Nate Johnston who wrote?

00:22:45
Speaker 1: Who?

00:22:45
Speaker 2: I don't know who that is? He wrote? I write the songs. That make the whole world sing, oh did he?

00:22:49
Speaker 1: Okay, I will be right back after this, but I know, I know Barry didn't write it, which is ironic, right yeah?

00:22:55
Speaker 2: Or Couincid is ironic? Yeah, exactly.

00:22:58
Speaker 1: With Skeary and Verdiem Okay, Bruce Johnson, I know my music. Oh, speaking of my music, I'll get to Barry Maniloe a second, but I start a video one of these. I was today years old when I figured this out. I want you to tell me, Okay, who this guy is sleeping with in this song? Okay, you've heard the song who is his? Who is he singing to?

00:23:25
Speaker 2: Here we go?

00:23:34
Speaker 1: That's the Outfield, famous song from the eighties, lady, It's.

00:23:37
Speaker 2: Called Your Love by the Outfield, Right, yep? Who's he singing? Who's he singing to? Oh? Well, if you if you go through the lyrics, and.

00:23:47
Speaker 1: I'm asking you, what's the woman's name he's singing to? Well, who is he singing to? He's singing he's singing to her best friend. He's trying to cheat on Josie with her best friend.

00:23:57
Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely, but I just starts the video.

00:24:00
Speaker 1: She's like, I was today years old when I realized he's singing about Josie being away on a vacation, so he wants that this woman come over.

00:24:08
Speaker 2: He wants to have sex with her friend.

00:24:10
Speaker 1: I put all the comments were like, oh my god, I thought he wanted to bang Josie, no Jo, nothing again. Vacation, She's on a vacation far away, so come on over exactly, And he doesn't. He doesn't want it, he doesn't. He just wants to use her love tonight, right. He just wants to get off. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna bang you, and when Josie's back, I'll be back with her.

00:24:36
Speaker 2: That's what he Yeah, but so many people heard, they heard that song. They had no idea. Now it's one of the most beloved songs of all time. Women love that song. It's great. The fuck is going on here, That's what I'm saying.

00:24:51
Speaker 1: This guy's writing a song like, hey baby, I want you to come over my girlfriend by name my friends.

00:24:55
Speaker 2: My girlfriend's out of town, Josie's out of town.

00:24:58
Speaker 1: So that begs the question slices, I don't have to leave your name. If you're a regular caller will know who you are. But if you're not a regular caller. Have you ever slept with your friend's guy while she was away on a vacation far away? And vice guys and guys the guys. Have you slept with a woman while her husband? You really think people are gonna use this talkbacks moment as a confessional Yeah, I don't think if I think, look, we all, I'm sure Reggie has done it. But if Reggie calls, will know it's Reggie. But if somebody calls, it's never called before, Like I don't.

00:25:25
Speaker 2: I don't want to. I don't want to.

00:25:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, leave my name, but okay, yeah, vacation. Yeah, and you know, come I'm talking, you know, Oh, come on, we'll talk about it.

00:25:41
Speaker 2: Let's talk about how my girlfriend, Joseph, this guy is a sleeze bag and why is he going?

00:25:46
Speaker 1: Why is she going on vacation without him? It sounds like your relationship. He's a sleeve This guy sounds like it's real.

00:25:51
Speaker 2: Sez.

00:25:51
Speaker 1: What if Robin was like scar He's on a vacation farrow Way, he wouldn't wait for me.

00:25:57
Speaker 2: I had to work. Wow. Yeah.

00:26:03
Speaker 1: You sometimes you just don't know the meaning of these songs, but you know they a lot of every song has a as a story. I think a lot of people just sing that song don't think about it. And then when this one was like I cannot believe I just learned what the song was. All the comments were like, holy shit, yeah, we thought he's danging Josie.

00:26:21
Speaker 2: No, the first line in the song tells you he's a dirt band. No.

00:26:24
Speaker 1: My favorite is is a lot of these, a lot of these memes and like videos on TikTok and Instagram. It has like somebody, you know, getting into a really dangerous situation and like all of a sudden, like you know, like let's say this, this girl is on a swing and then she she falls off a cliff and then you hear someone scream out Josie and then it cuts to the song.

00:26:54
Speaker 2: Josie's on a vacation for a way.

00:26:57
Speaker 1: There's a whole series of them there, hilarious. It's like and everyone the person like it looks like the person died. It's like, but but just before that you hear someone screamed, Joji.

00:27:14
Speaker 2: No, it's connected to the song.

00:27:16
Speaker 1: Your algorithm, Your algorithm is not being kind to you.

00:27:20
Speaker 3: No.

00:27:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, It's a lot of a lot of these like kind of like what is it the video faces of death videos type stuff, you know, And then and then and then after somebody it looks like they're about like something something bad happened to them, look like someone like flips a motorcycle or something. And then and then somebody screams you or you hear someone scream out Joji. Obviously they they dubbed that in and then and then cuts right to the video.

00:27:51
Speaker 2: I can't believe. Oh, they're hilarious this.

00:27:55
Speaker 1: I've seen at least about twenty of them.

00:27:58
Speaker 2: And then's and they yell Joe's.

00:28:00
Speaker 1: They go Josie, Yeah, but the Josie is it's the person. It's like an overdub, like does somebody dub dub it into the video, into the video the video of whatever's going on. It looks like something tragic happened to the person, and they disappear out of the video. They fall into a hole or whatever, or you know, someone's climbing the ladder and then all of a sudden, the ladder fucking tips over.

00:28:25
Speaker 2: They fall out of the frame, and.

00:28:27
Speaker 1: Then you hear Josie and it cuts to the next time I see one.

00:28:32
Speaker 2: I'll let you know, what do you got what? Okay? So what's happened man alone? Oh Barry, oh oh oh, back to Barry.

00:28:38
Speaker 1: Barry Manilo, who did not write I write the songs mind blowing for everybody I know. He's performing and now you know we talked about Frankie Valley from the Four Seasons where he's just like stands on stage like he's dead and the music plays. Yeah, well, Barry Manilo, my friend who I'm gonna tell you a story about my friend in a minute, because you've heard about this particular frame before he went to see Barry Manilo. So I was like, oh my god, how how's Barry Manilo in concert these days? So I looked it up on Instagram and now now it's in my algorithm. So I'm getting clips to Barry Maneloe. By the way, why don't you ask me? Because I went last year with our friend David Katz and Nate, the three of us, when does he Barry manelot Radio City. That was a year ago, so I thought maybe he might be even worse now. So he looks like he looks like Madam, remember the puppet Madam with the nose with the big cheeks, And he looks like that. He's got big. His mouth is so like he's so far pulled back skin, his mouth doesn't move anyway. He's still dressing with the Copa Cabana outfit and everything, but he's he's pulling. He's holding his dick like he's going like, hey, I'm like, look at my dick, like like Michael Jackson used to do.

00:29:45
Speaker 2: And he's not singing.

00:29:46
Speaker 1: He's sort of like his mouth is moving a little bit, but this music playing, and then like he drops his microphone down by his hip and he's still singing because he's not really singing.

00:29:54
Speaker 2: It's just horrific, horrific.

00:29:57
Speaker 1: Now, something must I think something happened to him in the past year, because when I sold her, No, when I saw him last year, he was really good.

00:30:06
Speaker 2: He was moving around the stage.

00:30:08
Speaker 1: He was still grabbing his crots like you said, but he was really singing.

00:30:12
Speaker 2: He definitely was singing. I feel how far from the stage were you?

00:30:16
Speaker 1: No, But I think we were the first We were the first row in the mezzanine of Radio City, so maybe far enough away you didn't notice he was lip singing.

00:30:27
Speaker 2: No.

00:30:28
Speaker 1: I think, uh, something happened, you know, something happened to him in the last year. And then he canceled some shows and he went through some so I think he might have had a setback.

00:30:38
Speaker 2: Something must have happened.

00:30:40
Speaker 1: Well, anyway, he's one of these people who should be not touring anymore. But if people are enjoying it, it's well listen, David Lee Roth just canceled this tour because he's not selling any tickets and he can't sing anymore. He just kind of like gets on stage and talks sings, and he's got four singers on stage who sing. Most of them you know, should really retire is Motley Crue. It's gonna ben unpopular opinion. Bon Jovi, So John John bon Jovi. Bon Jovi was in concert for like several shows last week.

00:31:12
Speaker 2: Yes, he's been sick.

00:31:13
Speaker 1: He had a throat problem, and I've heard from several people who went that it just it was it was bad, brought other people on stage. He's had throat problems.

00:31:24
Speaker 2: I know.

00:31:24
Speaker 1: He has an age well a lot younger than than the other people I.

00:31:28
Speaker 2: Know, But he can't do it.

00:31:30
Speaker 1: He can't hit the high notes when you're doing living, all the songs are slowed down like they don't when you think of bon Jovi, when you think about the original album tracks fast you gettic forrenetic songs and forty years ago, I know, but forty they've they've dumbed down the music to make it sound like you, and then they've slowed down the tempo.

00:31:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, they've.

00:31:57
Speaker 1: They've also they've they don't have like the fucking piercing guitars anymore.

00:32:03
Speaker 2: They don't do.

00:32:03
Speaker 1: They doesn't have long hair anymore, like Yeah, but he is the song and the songs should be true to the album. When I'm hearing bad Medicine, I want to hear you Eric Clapton Laila and then he recorded Leila. Yeah, I just I want to but I want to hear I want to hear those chords play out on those guitars. You know where you can go to hear those on your phone? You can pull up the music and here he's he's sixty something years old, dude, dude kisses. In the seventies they had to stop man stopped playing Rolling Stone, still going, Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney is still going, Yes, but does he scream when he sees how Paul McCartney, No, he's eighty well listen, yeah, but the other two of them are dead.

00:32:50
Speaker 2: I just want to I think I think that listen.

00:32:55
Speaker 1: Concerts are fucking expensive, the people paying a lot of money for these tickets. I expect the music, the guitar, the guitar. Guitar is a guitar, so the guitar can make the fucking sound, play the sound, and he's you know, I want to hear that. I want to hear guitar now. I want to hear those. I want to hear those, uh those electric guitar sounds when they hit the pedal and the distortion. He has an electric guitar. Phil ex Is playing electric guitar for them.

00:33:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, I I.

00:33:26
Speaker 1: A lot of the songs sound more like slow and I don't know the vocals aren't there and when her Bruce Willis isn't filming Diehard anymore, Like people get older, I get it, but at that point I would like to see I would like to see uh, you know, uh David Wright playing for the Mets, but he retired eight years ago.

00:33:47
Speaker 2: I understand that that's what happens. No, I go so listen.

00:33:51
Speaker 1: I find it to be a gift that these guys can still perform and entertain.

00:33:55
Speaker 2: And if you don't like it. You don't have to go.

00:33:57
Speaker 1: That's the beauty of it, I know, but some people.

00:34:00
Speaker 2: Not be performing anyway.

00:34:00
Speaker 1: The point about Brian Aneilo is unlike John bon Jovi, who has had a throat surgery recently and he's recovering and he's, you know whatever. I think he'll be back. I think six months from now he'll be able to sing better than he is.

00:34:12
Speaker 2: I hope, so, I hope so.

00:34:14
Speaker 1: I saw him five years ago and I and I was I was disappointed.

00:34:19
Speaker 2: And I love I fucking love bon Jovie. I do.

00:34:22
Speaker 1: I'm a big fan. I just it's just sad to see, you know. I saw him on a cruise in twenty nineteen. He was excellent, excellent, and I got to meet him on the cruise. I also hear that he's the nicest guy. Several people have said he's the nicest guy. We had him on the Morning Show. He was very nice. He and Richie came up on the Morning Show.

00:34:40
Speaker 2: We performed.

00:34:41
Speaker 1: They performed acoustically in the studio and then did a concert for our listeners right outside by the phones.

00:34:46
Speaker 2: I've met John a couple of times.

00:34:48
Speaker 1: Very nice guy, you know, he and you know all the money he donates to the food kitchens and he has does.

00:34:53
Speaker 2: Donates the money. Did what is it?

00:34:55
Speaker 1: The jay JBJ kitchen? He had that for a while going where his sole kitchen kitchen.

00:35:00
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:35:00
Speaker 1: My point about Barry Manilow is that you remember, remember a year ago and we put up videos about them from this conversation where I wanted to go watch the NFL Draft with my friend and out of nowhere he invited someone without telling me and was like, oh, by the way, my friend Pete's coming, and then Pete changed the plans at the last minute. I was all upset because he ruined my draft experience. Remember that conversation. Hm, okay, Well I call him up and I say, hey, uh, you want to have dinner together on such and such a night and he says, no, I can't. My friend asked me had an extra ticket to see Barry Manilow, and uh, I'm gonna go. He said, oh fantastic is Yeah, I haven't had a chance to spend time with him in a while. I haven't seen him in a while, looking forward to going to see Barry Manelow with him, So I'm going to see Barry Mano with him.

00:35:47
Speaker 2: Fantastic.

00:35:49
Speaker 1: So that night, I get a phone call. I go, hey, man, what's up. Aren't you going to the concert tonight?

00:35:54
Speaker 2: Yeah? But I thought you'd appreciate this. He goes.

00:35:57
Speaker 1: My friend just called me. He goes, Oh, I've got to tell you this. Three of us going. I said three of us. He was the third person. He goes, oh, I had three tickets. But he goes, but he didn't mention to my friend that there was a third person. He was just like, Oh, I have an extra ticket, you'll come. He didn't realize it was three people. Oh, so he says, oh, who's the third person? He goes, my mother in law.

00:36:17
Speaker 2: Oh, are you kidding me? I'm not kidding you.

00:36:24
Speaker 1: So the guy that fucked me over and invited Pete to go watch the draft without telling me got some of his own medicine times one hundred because he had to go with his friend's mother in law, not even his friend's mother. Oh mother in law, why oh why? In her eighties? That's I guess that's a nice gesture, isn't the kind of thing you bring up, like, hey, dude, I'm going to the seat Barry Manela, my mother in law?

00:36:48
Speaker 2: You want to go? Wellk He like you might go.

00:36:51
Speaker 1: Well that that's why he didn't want him to back out, so he didn't tell him til the last minute.

00:36:55
Speaker 2: Well he was on the way to his house.

00:36:56
Speaker 1: Surprise, he did that shit on guaranteed, Oh, guaranteed. He's like, oh, I forgot to mention his three of us going. You forgot to mention you fort three d. Yeah, because had you told me four hours ago, I would have made an excuse to back out. He knew exactly what he was doing. If I said, Scary, I'm going to the met game. You want to go, You'd be like, yeah, let's go to the Met game. I go by the way. My mother in law's going. Yeah, no, yeah, yeah, okay.

00:37:21
Speaker 2: That's okay. I'll think I'll take a pass on.

00:37:23
Speaker 1: That, Sarry, you would never invite your mother in law to go to a concert with your friends. Right who the Boys podcast, We will be right back. Oh uh no, no, no, no, you please please, no, go ahead, go ahead, No, no, I'm I'm just all right, all right. Remember we talked about that woman from social media who was upset because you ordered the bronzeno and the guy who got cheap and didn't want to put cheese on his burger. Oh yeah, So I don't have the original video, but you follow these two guys, they go and they rip on people for saying stupid ship. I want you just let's focus on saying stupid ship or for what you'll see. So she's this woman is talking about the kind of men she will date and won't date. And you follow this account also, so you may have seen it. But I want to get Slice's opinion on this woman and her standards.

00:38:20
Speaker 2: Last night.

00:38:23
Speaker 1: I canceled it.

00:38:25
Speaker 3: He picked a lame restaurant, like three dollars minimum, preferbably four white tablecloth, and you need to offer to send me a car to get there.

00:38:35
Speaker 2: Do you think restaurant?

00:38:38
Speaker 1: You pick up the phone to call you tablecloth?

00:38:41
Speaker 2: You're lucky you go to white Castle. Send a car. I won't even send your text back.

00:38:45
Speaker 1: I send her a can to get the fuck away from it. Sloop.

00:38:48
Speaker 2: By the way I handed it looks like she was up all night. Yea, so that's the that's the Brooklyn stoop. Yeah.

00:38:55
Speaker 1: So so this woman. I'm actually gonna be on their podcast pretty soon. Oh no, yeah, they invited me on their podcast. I hope you'll do a good job of promoting pod.

00:39:05
Speaker 2: I sure will. I will make you proud. I'm looking forward to it. I love those guys great.

00:39:10
Speaker 1: The point was, she said, if someone's gonna take me to to dinner, it's got to be at least three dollar signs, because restaurants are rated as one to four dollar signs how expensive they are. There's got to be three dollar signs, white tablecloth, and you've got to send a car to pick me up.

00:39:25
Speaker 2: Wow.

00:39:26
Speaker 1: Now I guess because she lives in Manhattan that she's expecting that the man doesn't have a car, because I would always pick up.

00:39:32
Speaker 2: I would just take my car and pick her up. Right.

00:39:35
Speaker 1: But you're demanding, you're taking me to dinner. I'm not going out with you. Listen, it's a three dollars three dollars signed restaurant with white tablecloths. Well, we talked a little bit about this. We touched on it when I told you that Nate it from the Big Show. I met this girl and she wanted we did did we talk about this on this on this podcast? Where she wanted a blaze, a helicopter or fly me to help PJ to the Montauk, right to the Hamptons.

00:40:04
Speaker 2: So I'm learning more and more.

00:40:07
Speaker 1: Again, I'm not in the dating scene by any stretch of the imagination. But apparently this has been a thing of the last ten fifteen years or so, where women see each other on social posting these types of videos, and they see other women succeeding at it. So it's becoming more part of the acceptable culture for them to make these demands. And it could be something as insane as fly me to the Hamptons, or something as basic and smaller as they have to send me an uber or car to the date. But it's all the same shit though, you know, obviously a sliding scale of cost.

00:40:52
Speaker 2: But it stems from the.

00:40:57
Speaker 1: You know, the idea that they get to you know, they get to call the shots. They get this this, I mean, how.

00:41:06
Speaker 2: Would you even phrase what what that is?

00:41:08
Speaker 1: You know, a woman, listen, it's you're gonna have standard, you're entitled the standards. Standards is one thing, but to make demands is a whole other world.

00:41:17
Speaker 2: And apparently this is a thing. This is the thing, now call for me.

00:41:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, guys, First of all, he's if the guys. I guess entitlement was the word I was gonna wanted to use the word in title is will this be entitlement?

00:41:28
Speaker 3: Yes?

00:41:28
Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, okay, you for dinner and he wants to pay for dinner. That's the arrangement. That's fine, But you you can't get to the restaurant on your own. You send a call for you?

00:41:38
Speaker 2: What do you like a trophy?

00:41:40
Speaker 1: They're demanding chivalry. I guess that you know this, doesn't she send a call for him? She's getting a free dinner. Hey, you know what you're buying my dinner. It's gonna cost one hundred bucks. I'll send you a call for twenty right, how about that?

00:41:53
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:41:53
Speaker 1: I don't I don't know. I mean, obviously I don't agree with this at all.

00:42:00
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:42:00
Speaker 1: So anyway, I love those guys because they look at clips like that and they.

00:42:03
Speaker 2: Go, are you fucking crazy? Get the fuck out?

00:42:05
Speaker 1: He get the fuck got When are you gonna be on that podcast in mid August?

00:42:11
Speaker 2: Well?

00:42:12
Speaker 3: No?

00:42:12
Speaker 1: They usually they usually call people out for getting paid for food reviews. They they're they're opening line is they got paid and you got played. And then they say, we're here in this neighborhood, in front of this store, where this food influencer, and they cut to the food influencer at that store claim that this is the best blank that they ever had.

00:42:38
Speaker 2: Now and they've never had scalps. But we're gonna try.

00:42:40
Speaker 1: We're gonna go in here and we're gonna try that, and we're gonna decide for ourselves if this fucking food is legitimate or if it's bullshit. And if it's bullshit, they got paid and you're all being scammed. It's almost like they're doing like a service to everybody. They're brilliant. Their names are it's Chris and Ralph. Is it Chris and somebody? Yeah, anyway, they they're awesome and well, I've been following that if it was them, But I saw I think it was a food guy. He was doing a podcast and he said, uh, who the hell of food influences. They're not trained chefs and not trained food people. They're just guys with a camera, right, And they show this one clip and the guy goes, oh, because this place is known for the scallops, I've never had a scallop before, so I'm excited to try one.

00:43:27
Speaker 2: And he bites.

00:43:28
Speaker 1: He goes, oh, this is fantastic, ten out of ten. Then the guy goes, how the fuck does this guy give a scallop a ten out of ten. But he's never had a scallop before in his life. He's never been to New York, he's never been to Italy, he's never been a he lives where where a guy lives, because he lives in a small town. He's never had an oyster before, a scallop, And now he's given a ten out of what compared to what? Yeah, if you if you really want to, if you really want to rage, follow hat toss king and hat toss queen. Oh no, no, nope, nope, you know about the suck. I've already sent you those videos. I sent him to you, and you tell me like I like you, Well.

00:44:02
Speaker 2: My fucking algorithm is full of them. Because of the videos that you saw me.

00:44:06
Speaker 1: They barely have any teeth and and they'll go to a gas station and pick up a sandwich and and and they look like they're on crystal meth. And why everything is like, oh, that's meth and some and somewhere during the video, the guy takes his baseball cap off, he flicks the air and lands on his lands on his head, which, by the way, talent, that's talent right there. But because it's all in the same shot, the same take. They don't do it double take, and then they sit there, they open the hero They.

00:44:33
Speaker 2: Don't describe the shtiest food.

00:44:35
Speaker 1: They they if you this a sandwich that looks like a fucking fourth grader made it, and and they don't mean so like how hard was that sandwich? Your teeth fell out? They don't even But the thing is they don't even explain what the sandwich is or what's in it. They just hold it up to the camera and she goes, ooh, you want some, and then she'll take she'll take a bite. They're out of Port Jervis or yeah, in the in the eight four five in Rockland County. So my algorithm has turned into strange, unusual, weird looking, possibly slightly imperfect human beings singing doing food reviews. Uh, it's at a hand. I can't stop, like obese people on trampolines, like I can't get away from it. I swipe as fast as I can to eliminate it for my algorithm. I try, but I do get some good ones on my algorithm.

00:45:35
Speaker 2: The algorithm is gonna get you. Yeah, that's very good.

00:45:38
Speaker 1: Okay, this guy, Now you know how Brooklyn. We've talked about how Brooklyn people leave off the last like they say muzadel and got la mode and that's say they italianize all. Of course, this guy found I sent you the video, so don't tell me three days from now you send me the It's a great video. This guy is like, what if what if people talked about all food the way New York Italians talk about food.

00:46:00
Speaker 4: Peter Guagga moole is you gotta get the best of a gods. You get the freshests. I get Florida avagots, there a little bigger greener. You're putting this lunch and then you just mash, You just mash it up, just like mashed potato.

00:46:13
Speaker 2: Just like that.

00:46:14
Speaker 4: You know, I do it. I get my greens that way. I do a broccole. I do a goose.

00:46:21
Speaker 2: What asparagus goose? Listen, he's talking about guacamole.

00:46:28
Speaker 4: Here we go, Guaga mole, get the best of gods, you get the freshests. I get Florida avagots, the a little bigger greener, and then you put this lunch and then you just mash, You just mash it up, just like mashed potato.

00:46:41
Speaker 2: Just like that.

00:46:42
Speaker 4: You know, I do it. I get my greens that way I do a broccole.

00:46:46
Speaker 2: I do goose.

00:46:50
Speaker 1: The comments section, I'm gonna tell you his name because the comment name is Derek Boskovich. Absolutely hilarious. That is great comments. They're all feeding into that, making fun of the way you people talk about food. Yeah, something that we mentioned, what we talked about on our The Big Show podcast, the After Party podcast, is something I wanted to bring on this podcast last week, but I think we ran out of time.

00:47:18
Speaker 2: That happens, yeah, but I wanted to bring it back this week.

00:47:21
Speaker 1: BROI I started talking about it, and then we decided to scrap it. Okay, talking about my friends, my didas. By the way, run DMC, my Sharona, Run DMC. Beastie Boys. First of all, Mike D is back. Mike D is performing, Mike D from the Beastie Boys, one of three. He's got new music out. He's playing with his son and he's got all new stuff. Now don't expect it to be Beastie Boys style, but he's touring and he's got they got an album coming out there. I'm so excited because in twenty twelve, we unfortunately lost MCA and the other two ad Rock and Michael Diamond. Mike D decided they were they weren't going to do this again ever, or they will never tour without him. Okay, so you're saying that Mike D's stuff is not Beastie Boys style. Would you say it's the new style, the new style Beastie Boys. No, it's it's it's just different. You know, you don't go in expecting Beastie Boys. But anyway, I'm excited because he's back out there, and you know, hopefully ad Rock is going to follow and do some some stuff of his own. But you know, these guys, you know, anyway, it's been a long time coming. They haven't had new music since two thousand and ten, twelve eleven, whatever, something like that. It's been a long now. When they lose their voices, you can tell him to stop rapping, stop rapping. No, you know what I'm saying. Anyway, if he comes out and he goes, yeah.

00:48:57
Speaker 2: Boy, what I wanted to talk out?

00:49:00
Speaker 4: Yeah?

00:49:00
Speaker 2: Yeah boy, it's too Yeah, it's too slow.

00:49:05
Speaker 1: Okay, yeah I'm talking about I think I told you this. My friend who's a science teacher in New York City Public schools. He's got a girl in his class who identifies as a furry a cat.

00:49:19
Speaker 2: She's two different things.

00:49:20
Speaker 1: She comes someone who likes to dress up in furry things and rub their naked bodies against fur.

00:49:25
Speaker 2: Oh I didn't know animal costume. Oh I didn't know that.

00:49:27
Speaker 1: Well, this she wears, she wears ears, and she wears a tail. So I don't know if that's a furry or not.

00:49:33
Speaker 2: I don't know. It's not my world.

00:49:35
Speaker 1: That's an adult sex thing. Let's just keep it to the little girl. Where's this girl wears cat stuff?

00:49:40
Speaker 2: Okay?

00:49:40
Speaker 1: And anytime he calls on her to answer a question, she meows, or she'll hiss, or she'll go like what like Like, well, that's an issue that needs to be fixed.

00:49:55
Speaker 2: Right, you would think it does. But apparently.

00:50:00
Speaker 1: You can't talk to these kids these days in these classrooms because unfortunately they get to identify what they want as and the school takes a very like we're not touching this stance and they don't interfere at all unless it becomes a problem, which in this cat classroom it did. So my friend said, all right, well, we need to elevate this to the principle and the people around us, the people. So talks to the administration and the principal and everyone sides with the cat and says, yeah, we really, we really, we really can't help out here. This is not going to go in your direction. This is not you're not gonna win this argument. And no parent teacher conference.

00:50:43
Speaker 2: No yeah, So enter enter the parent teacher.

00:50:46
Speaker 1: Conference and to samon, the parents come up. The parents listen to what my friend had to say and said, m yep, okay, right, And then he made the argument that he's gonna fail this She's gonna fail this class because she's identifying as a cat and all she does is meow and hiss and me oh, well, that's the problem. She's not answering questions. I answered, questions, is not you know, when it comes to tests and things like that, she'll write what she has to write. But and then and the parents got really combative, doubled down and said, okay, you know what we want a litter box installed in the back of the classroom.

00:51:31
Speaker 2: No, no, that's not a campaign. That's what they said they wanted.

00:51:36
Speaker 1: And I my friend was like, this is where he said, I think it's time to go on sabbatical and quit this life.

00:51:47
Speaker 2: And so he.

00:51:49
Speaker 1: Decided he was going to now take it to the superintendent because there was no way he was going to allow a litter box in the classroom. Who knows what this girl was going to do. I mean, not that she would have done anything, I guess. But finally the superintendent sided with him and said, no, that's where we draw the line. And so luckily defended him, didn't get in further trouble, and they they decided that they that's where they drew the line. But she continues to she had continued to come to class the rest of the semester and not not answer questions and still act like a cat.

00:52:28
Speaker 2: Okay, a couple of things.

00:52:30
Speaker 1: First off, by the way, I definitely want to address this, but also the people who might remember five years ago roughly, there was a fake story, yes that Texas, that Texas schools were putting little boxes in the classroom. Yes, yes, I want to google that. It's it's got its own Wikipedia.

00:52:48
Speaker 2: This has nothing to do with that. This is a true story. This is a true story. Right.

00:52:53
Speaker 1: When I talked about this on the podcast, Scottie B had a lot to say and jumped in and said, oh, this is happening in Long Island.

00:53:04
Speaker 2: It happened in his daughter's classroom.

00:53:06
Speaker 1: Where they wanted they wanted a litter box, and they were there were cats walking around mewing or other dogs whatever you identify as. And and then Danielle also jumped in to the conversation. So this isn't this is Listen, we have to understand, Yes, forty his daughter did his. So we haven't been in the school system now for like, at at that level, for like thirty seven years, thirty eight years. A lot has fucking changed. When I talked to my sister about this, who's also a teacher, she listen, she couldn't confirm anything specific, uh, but she absolutely they've had dealings with students who I'm just going to broadstroke it, who identified as something other than their own gender or the opposite gender.

00:54:10
Speaker 2: And let's keep it to cats.

00:54:12
Speaker 1: Let's keep because the gender thing is a different thing, right And uh yeah, I mean and and the school stance has always been, well, look, let I'm out of to me, the crazies are running the asylum at this point.

00:54:26
Speaker 2: You know, it's wild.

00:54:28
Speaker 1: How far are we've fallen and how far how things are because what the second let me.

00:54:34
Speaker 2: My final point on this is, yeah.

00:54:37
Speaker 1: It's fine and dandy, and to do what you want, identify how you want, address how you address how you want. And this was also Elvis's position. But the second it starts affecting everyone else in the classroom because you've decided you want to install a litter box or someone wants to meow. That's really affecting other people's learning that now you're in everyone else's space.

00:55:00
Speaker 2: Now, it's really if these.

00:55:03
Speaker 1: If these parents, let's say these parents went to a therapist, right, and he took their kid to a therapist. I'm assuming I hope they took their kids to a therapist and didn't decide, well, whatever Mary wants, Mary can do, because at some point you gotta take them to a therapist. Right If the therapist said it would be dangerous in the development to abruptly brush them if they're you know whatever, then then, like you said, if that's the way the child has to be, and it's medically approved that you have to, you know, let the kid thinks she's a cat for a month, that's fine. The little box thing is fucking ridiculous, because that's not Now you want to pretend to be a cat. Little girls love cats, you know what I mean, right, but cat. But you can't do that in a classroom where you're getting graded, you're you're being watched.

00:55:49
Speaker 2: You have to actually perform in the classroom. You have to show that you're.

00:55:53
Speaker 1: You're knowledgeable and you're not just copping out and faking an answer.

00:55:57
Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. If you have a song, I'm not.

00:55:59
Speaker 1: Making fun of this by any By the way, let's be clear, I'm not making fun of any of this.

00:56:03
Speaker 2: This isn't like me.

00:56:05
Speaker 1: Look, if you've got a son who wants to pretend he's a baseball player or an astronaut or a cowboy, and he goes to school and he's wearing a cowboy outfit, that that's fine. But if he's got a gun, that's not fine. Right, Like, there's levels of fine. If he needs to have like swinging doors, put on the room, the classroom so it's like a saloon in the Old West, because he's a cowboy who wants swinging doors, you gotta.

00:56:26
Speaker 2: Say no, exactly, draw the line. You draw the line.

00:56:30
Speaker 1: So you want the kid to wear cat's ears, a little tail and pretend she's you know, arion, that may not.

00:56:35
Speaker 2: Be appropriate dress for a classroom. I don't agree with that. Read are we talking to my first grade? Then?

00:56:41
Speaker 1: The kids always they wear costumes. I don't care if we're talking about like high school, you know. But yeah, the little bo I'm glad they drew a line a little bit. Again, this is related in the box. Yeah, I think at that point, I think the parents, Well, again, I don't know about I don't I'm not a psychologist. I don't understand the mental stability of children and what like. At some point, you it it's like if somebody get hit on the head and can't remember who they are and they think there's somebody else, you're not supposed to tell them they aren't that person, right, right, There's certain psychological things justn't.

00:57:20
Speaker 2: Supposed to do when you're supposed to do. So.

00:57:22
Speaker 1: I don't know about what you're supposed to tell your child, like you're not a cat, but you definitely don't let the kid go to school. And the parents should be like, well, the kids, you have a little box, you know.

00:57:30
Speaker 2: What are you that?

00:57:31
Speaker 1: My parents are just probably protesting and saying I side with my child. In fact, here install this litter box. Now, I just think that there's got to be a way to extract these people from these classrooms and maybe put them somewhere else, or do a private session of learning or whatever. I don't think it should disrupt everybody else who's you know, because it's it's it goes against the norm, the social norm.

00:58:01
Speaker 2: Yes, one hundred again.

00:58:04
Speaker 1: We can only be identified, we can only be politically correct to an extent, and at some point, fuck that, Fuck that, and blieve me, Scotty was pissed, then Yell was angry. My sister, I think, doesn't know what to fucking do. You know, she's stare, in my mind, does what she does. If if you're a smoker and you want to go smoke, go smoke, go smoke somewhere. But if you smoke next to me, I'm allowed to complain about that, right, I'm allowed to say, I don't want to breathe, you smoke, get the fuck away from me. If you want your kid to dress like a cat, then have your kid dressed like a cat. But if you come to school and you're disrupting the class because when you raise your hand to answer your question, you're exactly that's bullshit, Then you gotta go to cat school, right then you gotta be you gotta be homeschooled and have a scratching post and when you get home and when you get sick, go to a veterinarian. Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say. You know, you got at some point you gotta just cut he cut it off and say this is absolutely what are we doing here?

00:59:10
Speaker 2: That's all that, And.

00:59:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, slices would love your feedback on this, but let me just make this request. Let's focus on kids who identify as cats. If you're gonna leave talkbacks, I don't want to get into the topics. I just focus onalytic and specifically that. Okay, all right, because that's this is to me ultra ludicrous, and I think there's gotta be a happy medium scary between I want my kids to have a little box and I'm gonna beat my kid because he said he was gay.

00:59:36
Speaker 2: Like this, there's two separate size.

00:59:38
Speaker 1: You can't be like completely like, I can't be like No, I'm gonna give my kid fucking Tabby food and I'm gonna pack a school lunch and it's gonna be fish. It's gonna be a live fish. That's what I'm saying, and a mouse does. And that's where the direction we're going. And if you're I got, I got peanut butter and jelly for lunch.

00:59:57
Speaker 2: What you get?

00:59:58
Speaker 1: And if you're a teacher in twenty twenty, please leave a talk back and let us know what's going on in your in your middle school, in high school hallways and classrooms. I'm sure we're going to hear some fun ship. We will be right back.

01:00:13
Speaker 2: Thanks.

01:00:18
Speaker 1: Uh, let's get off cats, and let's talk about Uh dinner, Dinner's good. I love dinner. What's for dinner? So the other night, do I get wet food? Yeah? Yeah, you're kibble kibble. So, uh, my friend paper Menu invited me over the other night after dinner. He says, Hey, man, you want to come over. We're uh, we're toasting. Uh we're making somemores in the backyard. Like, oh, yeah, come over. He goes, Oh, there's gonna be some couples, bring your kids.

01:00:52
Speaker 2: You know, come over. It's great right there.

01:00:56
Speaker 1: So, uh, I go over and we're making some'mores. We're hanging out in the backyard. He's got out around deck chairs. Great situation. Hey, there's other couples we're all mingling. It's great. My phone rings. It's Scary Jones. Hey, Scary Jones.

01:01:11
Speaker 2: Everybody.

01:01:12
Speaker 1: So I answered the phone and this there's Scary on the phone. I'm very happy to hear him.

01:01:15
Speaker 2: Hey, Scary. What's going on?

01:01:16
Speaker 1: Is are we podcasting this week? He's like, no, you're not gonna believe this. I just got about a half hour ago. Because I'm sorry for he texted me first call me, now, call me out big news.

01:01:28
Speaker 2: So I called me.

01:01:29
Speaker 1: He goes, listen, don't take this the wrong way. I just found out. It's not it's last minute. I found out like a half hour ago. I got reservations at Lukali, which is like one of the top fancy, fancy, upscale, hoody two dy pizza places in Brooklyn. Yeah, not a place we grew up with. It's now the avant garde. Everyone's got to go. All the celebrities go pizza place in Brooklyn. He's like, I got reservations. I got a friend, I pulled connections, I got, I got there's three of us. I got I got a room for dinner for four. We were gonna go some where else. But now he got the guy that hooked me up for four. I need a fourth. I thought of you, so I said, oh really, I said, yes, but I need you to get to Brooklyn in like an hour. I said, scary, how long have you known about this? Only a half hour?

01:02:15
Speaker 2: Which is true? I said.

01:02:16
Speaker 1: I said, okay, fantastic, I said, scary, did you ask like three or four other people before you asked me? Because it's been a half hour since you've known Had you asked me a half hour ago, I might have been able to make it.

01:02:28
Speaker 2: I was honest with you.

01:02:29
Speaker 1: I was honest with you, right, I said, Now I'm out. I'm at paper Menus house, which is not you know, it's not a little distance from my house. I'm wearing shorts. He's like, oh, you can't wear shorts. You gotta change.

01:02:40
Speaker 2: I go.

01:02:40
Speaker 1: So you want me to go home, change, go back out and get there in an hour?

01:02:45
Speaker 2: I said, scary, did you invite four people?

01:02:47
Speaker 3: Like?

01:02:47
Speaker 1: How many people? He goes, No, No, I didn't invite four people before you. I go, was I fourth?

01:02:52
Speaker 4: No?

01:02:52
Speaker 3: No?

01:02:53
Speaker 1: I invited Nate and coaster Boy Josh, and then I invited you? So not fourth? He invited me third? Fuck you well, and he wants me to be appreciative.

01:03:04
Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing. No, no, No, here's the thing.

01:03:07
Speaker 1: Had you called me on the half hour earlier, I would have had time to go home and change for dinner. But you waited until everybody else said no. And he's like, Oh, I was gonna fte Nate because he's in the city, and I invited Josh because he loves pizza.

01:03:20
Speaker 2: And he's okay.

01:03:21
Speaker 1: So Josh lives ten minutes from the place I was going, and I was gonna be it would be the lead no, because you can't get into this place. It's an impossible reservation. It's one of the top ten most difficult reservations in New York City. So I said, let's uh. I figured I would call Josh is a pizza enthusiast, and he was the most close by, and I would be putting him out the least. So I asked him first because he was the most obvious choice.

01:03:46
Speaker 2: And was I second. No, because the.

01:03:49
Speaker 1: Second closest person who I knew would be available because he's single and the party guy and always looking for something.

01:03:56
Speaker 2: To do, isn't he. Nate is mister spontaneity.

01:03:59
Speaker 1: Nate's right there with me with the I'm gonna just throw on some fucking jeans and I'll join you or I'll meet you there. So so yeah, so I did invite I did invite coach to boy Josh before you, and then I invited the boy Josh, and Nate said, no, hold on, be honest with me now and the slices. Who else did you think to call before you called me?

01:04:22
Speaker 2: Gandhi? Who? Thank you? So I was fourth? I was right. Nobody else, that's it.

01:04:29
Speaker 1: You didn't there was no one else you thought of, like, oh he probably can't make it. Oh no, yeah, I mean I thought of people. Yeah, I thought I thought of my friend I Naz. I thought of Shy and why and why couldn't I go?

01:04:41
Speaker 2: Well, I don't know. I didn't. I didn't ask her. I didn't ask her. I asked you. You were the third. You were the third. Third personaid Gandhi. He said, Ghandha. No, I said, I thought of Gandhi And why didn't you ask Gandhi?

01:04:54
Speaker 1: Because I figured, yeah, I'm leaving soon and she's in Jersey City with me.

01:04:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.

01:05:01
Speaker 1: You thought about it, wrote her off and you're like, I got a fuck you know. So here's what I think happened, you had no one to go with. You called me knowing I couldn't possibly make it in an hour, but then you'd still get credit for the invite.

01:05:13
Speaker 2: That's not true. So it was a table for four.

01:05:16
Speaker 1: I was with Danny Connections and my girlfriend, Robin and me, and that fourth seat sat empty.

01:05:23
Speaker 2: Nobody. Nobody took it, you know.

01:05:26
Speaker 1: And I never expected you to be available, because I.

01:05:32
Speaker 2: Would have come in a minute.

01:05:33
Speaker 1: If I was home and you said, can you make it an hour, I'll be like, yeah, I'll throw on jeans.

01:05:37
Speaker 2: Well. And also, you live so far west of me.

01:05:39
Speaker 1: If you're looking at folks, folks, slices, I can get the brothers.

01:05:43
Speaker 2: You all become folks. You're not folks, you're slices.

01:05:46
Speaker 1: Hey, boys and girls, Hey.

01:05:50
Speaker 2: Where did folks come from? Hey, ladies and gentlemen.

01:05:54
Speaker 1: If you look at a map slices, you'll see strategically, you'll see where the pushpins are, where.

01:06:03
Speaker 2: This place is all the way on the right side.

01:06:06
Speaker 1: I'm in the middle, and Brody's all the way to the left, and then coast to boy Josh's on the right side with where the pizza place is, and Nate is somewhere to the right of me, but to the left of the restaurant. So that's my logic. Yeah, Ladies and Gentlemen is saliva?

01:06:21
Speaker 2: What are you talking about?

01:06:23
Speaker 1: The song Ladies and gentlemen? Ladies and gentlemen?

01:06:25
Speaker 2: Who's saliva?

01:06:26
Speaker 3: Is that?

01:06:27
Speaker 1: Even a group rock band, you never had the song Ladies and Ladies and Gentlemen. It's a great song. I get it ready, keep talking.

01:06:33
Speaker 2: No, no, please don't, but I'll keep talking so you don't have to fucking play that shit. It's a great song, Okay, great.

01:06:40
Speaker 1: The point was I could not have made it in an hour if I had to go home first change and then go to Brooklyn. So I feel like it was a wasted invite because you waited a half hour to call me. The good news is, if you really want to go, we can make a day and we can go. Oh you have carp launch now to go anytime, not carp launch, but you know, if I want to, you know, I can't wear out my welcome, but I'm sure I can make a couple of more asks and we can make it happen. Yeah, do you want to go?

01:07:09
Speaker 2: All right?

01:07:09
Speaker 1: I would be up for that, you know, you know what I would have done in retrospect if I was scary Jones, Hey, you know what, I'd love for Brody to go. He'd really appreciate this, all right, but he probably needs more time than Nate and Josh, who live closer. So I'll call Brody first, and then if he can't go, I'll call the people that live close.

01:07:28
Speaker 2: See, that would have made more sense.

01:07:30
Speaker 1: Call the furthest person first, give them more time to show up, and.

01:07:34
Speaker 2: Then when they can't, then you you go to plan B zero.

01:07:38
Speaker 1: You go closer, right, you go closer once you call the first people that are already closer, change smokers, nine ex nails, closer, clos a lot. It's a lot at Neo. That's right, yeah, Neil, So that's that. That would be my train of thought. Call the furthest people away first, so they have enough time to come. Plus, once I say I can't make it, you go, oh, I'll just call I'll just call Josh.

01:08:02
Speaker 2: And again Josh deserves to go.

Speaker 1: He's a he loves pizza and he again is a pizza ficionado. I get that, but I you know, if you wanted me to go for future effic he could call me a little earlier and I would have. I would have flown home. I did the math, I went on. I did. I went on Google Maps as we were talking, and I'm like, our paper menus house to my house, my house, to the place it was. Also would have been a bad look had you bailed on paper menu while you were at his house. Even no, no, no, I told him. He's like, dude, go no paper menus casual. He's paper menu. He's not sending a call for me for dinner. The way are we gonna get paper menu on the podcast? I want to meet this guy.

01:08:38
Speaker 2: He won't. He won't go on.

01:08:39
Speaker 1: He's very he's very like he's funny as ship. He's hilarious. It's not funny Brooklyn through and through. But he's not like performer type.

01:08:47
Speaker 2: He won't go on. He won't come on.

01:08:48
Speaker 1: I asked him, man, it would be great to house, like, tell tell that story. He goes, Now you tell it, you tell it better. I've tried. He won't come on. Okay, and the Barry Mandelow guy would come on. But I okay, one.

01:09:01
Speaker 2: Of these days I'll have him on. He'd be good. He's funny. Pushing is one of these days. One of those days one of those days, these nights of these lost and I know that song. That's what is that? Eagles Chicago? Now one of these It's just been one of those days. I don't know who that is, dead on impression, whoever it is.

01:09:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, anyway that said, uh we I think were wrapping up here?

01:09:30
Speaker 2: Uh something else?

01:09:32
Speaker 3: Oh?

01:09:32
Speaker 2: Is that it? We're good?

01:09:33
Speaker 1: I always have something else. You gotta go, You gotta go swimming? Is that what's happening the pool closed door?

01:09:39
Speaker 2: Oh?

01:09:39
Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you want to do a little a little a little quick, a little quick thing. Uh yeah, I'm just like more, got one more ground. You always have a grind. This is no the grinder's writing. I would imagine other people have the same bripe. When you watch a TV show on your phone, or you watch a video on your phone, and the person in the video of whatever you're watching looks at their phone because they got an important text message. If you're holding your phone, you can see it right sure, Okay, But if you're watching television in your living room and the TV is fifteen feet away, and the murderer or like a big clue, texts the person in the show and they look at their phone. Are you able to read the phone's text message? No of what they're showing. No, no, So I have to constantly in my recliner chair, power the thing down, go and walk over to the TV, see what the text message says, and go sit down. Then five minutes later the killer sends it a text message. I gotta reclineate chair down, you get walk up to the TV. And before you say it, it isn't because of my eyes are bad. It's a matter of the fact that from twenty feet away and the TV fifteen feet away, I can't read someone else's fucking phone text messages. So people are going, well, well, don't you just put the close captioning on because it doesn't close caption what's on the screen.

01:10:55
Speaker 2: It does on some movies, but when you watch a streaming show. I was watching.

01:11:00
Speaker 1: Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed with Tatiana Mislani and she keeps getting text messages. So every fucking minute I gotta sit up and go, what the fuck is say on the phone?

01:11:09
Speaker 2: Apple? TV? Bullshit? So how do you cook the same problem? But how do you correct this? What's so? What's to solve? What's the television shows?

01:11:18
Speaker 1: If you have A, you gotta either make the fucking font bigger on the phone or well, you know, like when somebody speaks Indian, they automatically put the caption on the bottom for you, Right. I want to see a caption of what the phone says so I don't have to get out of my chair and go read the television set and I don't have to yell fuck in my and everybody go is my neighbor's like, why is he yelling again? Because I can't see the fucking text message? And it's not again. It's not about my eyesight. It's a it's a My eyesight's fine, but even though I put my reading glasses on, you still can't see the t And I have a big TV scary you know.

01:11:48
Speaker 2: That you can't see it. So it isn't about that.

01:11:52
Speaker 1: It's about I gotta you gotta do a better job if you're putting a phone on the screen that you got to make it obvious what it says on the phone. Okay, here I said, that's my random period. You happened TV?

01:12:03
Speaker 2: Wow?

01:12:03
Speaker 1: What show? By the way, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.

01:12:06
Speaker 2: Oh I think you're talking about this podcast. This was a good show. Maximum Pleasure, Absolute.
