Speaker 1: Says Elvis Durand Presents Off Air show is Scary Jones and Great Tea Episode one. Is there really that many already? Man? Yeah? Man, that's what we did was on June. That's a lot. That's a lot. It's a lot of shows. The show has been through a lot already. And now it's just the two of us again, just the two of us. You want me to bring it down? No, you're not feeling that now, No, I'm not. You know, there have been a lot of great duos in history, haven't there been, like you know, like Yester Half, like Hall and Oates, Star Skiing, Hutch, Stark Hutch? Who else? Was it duo? A great duo? Oh? Come on, there's tons of like um abbotat Costello of course, Laurel and Hardy. There you go, that's a great duo. How about like duos of rock music? Like, um, dude, you're catching me off the top of my head, right, I mean I can't name a great duo of of of rock? No I can't. I mean, of course I can't. I'm looking at something. I mean catching me at the time where you know, as we say here in the studio, I'm doing something and you're asking me a question. I'm not even thinking about. The Beatles were a foursome, but everyone knew it was really about Paul McCartney and John Lennon, So they were a duo. What about what about? Uh? Great? You know the lead guitarist and the and the singer of a of a group like you know the John bon Jovi and the Richie Sambora. Right there, there you go. Mick Jagger had his Keith Richards right, yes he did. They all do well, So why can't we be a dynamic duo? Batman had Robin of course because some great superhero like Fallout boy you got went and uh and and that guy? Why do you call him? That guy? The lead singer. The lead singer is supposed to be more popular than Pete, but Pete plays the bass. Why is he the more popular one. It's just the way things go. No, wait, but it shouldn't be that way. The lead singer is the one who takes at center stage. I'm trying to look him up right now. Man, I'm not finding good duos. I wish you wouldn't have done this to me. I wasn't prepared for this, dude. We think off the top of our heads. Yes, I know what I want to sound like. I'm like, I know something. I want something. A big freaking idiot right now. Alright, I know. We just come back from a vacation. This is what we're gonna do. Well, then we'll listen. You have a more a mouthful of marbles, so do I. You just gotta exercise your your your marbles. I'm not ready though, I'm not ready. I'm trying to find something to your phone. I wanted to come on here and I wanted to talk about this cool comedian that I saw it while we were away. His name is Pat McGann. Uh, it's P A T Pat and McGann and then m c A and altered alternative ways of spelling Pat. So Pat McGann. I didn't know of him, and uh, I've been watching his videos on YouTube and I'm trying to find this one that he said over the weekend when I went to see him open up for Sebastian Manikusco butchered one. How do we say his last I put Sebastian. If you remember manascalcot me take you back to an episode in the sixties. No, I know of our podcast when I told you about Sebastian Menascalco, and I admitted being late to the party. Then so did you did you bite off of me? And did you actually go see Sebastian Maniscalco because because of the hype that I put around it, No, so it was a but it was so we I celebrated a birthday with a friend of mine. Uh and um, so we had a great night plan. We went down to the casino down in South Jersey, the Bagada, and we had tickets to go see Sebastian that night. And then afterwards I set it up. We went to Bobby Flay Steakhouse and it was a dude fantastic. I gotta be honest. I didn't realize, and I mean necessarily, I didn't realize that Bobby Flay Steakhouse was so good. I thought it was just, you know, a good place to go. You've never been there before. I don't know I have been, but it never really hit me how good it really was. It was. He's a great chef, he's got great people in place there, especially at that location. Good. No, Bobby's awesome. And and so you had a great dinner, delicious dinner, which is one of the highlights of your vacation. I had that it was I had. I ordered flaming fantastic man. Honestly, God, who I mean, Bobby Flay is doing it right, He's ordering great meats, well, ordering great meat. Well, there's a pecking order, you know, as I found this out. Yeah, there's a famous Peter Lugers that from Brooklyn, right, arguably the best steak in the world. Yeah. Well, every morning they go to this certain market where the New York tri state area has to shop for their meat, and the Peter Luger picker of meat is first in line. They have an actual placement. So the the truth, the truth is that the reason why certain restaurants get better meat than others is because every morning in this market, this meat market, if you will, the people from the restaurants like Peter Luger go first first. So she's first in line, and she walks and she surveys all the meat and she's I'll take that, that, that, that that that, and I don't want that, and they bring it back to the place, so they arguably have the best pick of whatever is available for that day. And then the number two restaurant follows and to talk to like a real chef that would really I mean not that I'm not believing you, because I listen, you are the guy if I need to go to a good restaurant. You know, somebody says, Hey, I need to go to a restaurant. I go, I got a guy and I call you. You're the guy. You know who we can bring back to the show right now, blast from my past. Susie Sarlind. Oh, Susie Sartin, do you really want to know about meat meat packing? You know what? Can you call her on the phone and see, I'll see if she's available. While you do that, I want to find this joke that Pat McGann said. It was so good. It really opened for Sebastian Maniscalco in Atlantic City. Yes, hold on, hold on, And I'm also trying to find this thing. It's it's really great. Yeah. Hello, Susie. Yeah, Susie's and Greg, why are you? Oh my goodness, who do we have the pleasure of speaking with? Well? Greg T and I are doing our Affair Show podcast. Congratulations, you've made it to another episode. I think you were our first official guest back in the day when we started this over a year ago. So yeah, so you know you were the one who took me to uh Smith and Wilenski the steakhouse when I remember that a couple of years ago, of course. And then you get wearing my cowboy hat and I took you into an aging room. So, Susie Sirloin, just for the backstory, UH tell him who you are and what you represent, and we have a question for you, which is why we called okay. So, um, my name is Suzanne strass Bicker. I'm the sixth generation and the meat business. We just found out my grandmother's side that we've been butchers in New York since two so that's a hundred and seventy five years. And we love the meat business. We're very passionate. We sell a lot of um steaks to the best steak houses. We have our own online UM steak. By the way, your last name is Strasburger, which is just hilarious as it is. Did you get into this think your family got into this because of the word burger in the name or just no, no, no no. We just happened to be butchers in Germany. So the wholesale they do Strasburger meats and they sell it to all the great restaurants and then she's got the Susie sirloin and so you've got a great resume. That's for sure. You're you're qualified to speak on meat questions. So that our meat question is wait, I have to tell you one more thing. I read in the news, the meat news this morning, that America is eating more meat, more beef. Yeah, okay, Susie, sirline listen here, this is Greg T. First of all, I want to say thank you very much for being part of the reason. Why a sampler? Can you send us? Can you send us a sampler? I would love to have a sampler. Can we give it to the fair heads? And let's not start all right, Listen, Susie, here's my question as a Scary plays cattle noises. Okay, well here's the thing. Okay, So I have a question. So I recently went to Bobby Flay Steakhouse and in Borgana, right, and it was delicious. I ordered the Flaming Yn. It was fantastic, it really was, and and it hit me. I didn't realize how good the Bobby Flay steak was until I just had it recently. Fantastic. So Scary tells me that there is a pecking order in New York of all these great steak houses where if you're let's say, Peter Luger, you get the very first choice of steak as then then all of a sudd and down the line it goes. It's already true that people get preference and that's why they have better meat. Like how does the meat selection process go? Oh wow, this is a personal question, and I can tell already by the silence. And you know what, by the way I thought something this is going to happen, because as I said it, you got very quiet, and that's not like you to be very quiet. Well, there's different there's a different purveyors of beef. We know. I will say there is some truth to that, but I can't speak for other restaurants or companies. I can only speak for myself. You don't supply to you don't supply supply to Peter Luger. Uh No. But I will say they're the best payers and perhaps and the quickest payers, so that may have something to do with it. And they're very loyal and they're very honest, so then okay, and they work very very hard. Okay, So there say, you know, the prime meat. There's very little of it in um. In the process. Yeah, we process, you know, hundreds of thousands of heads of meat every week here in Americans, over six hundred thousand head of cattle a week. We're just talking beef. So beef has grown in every state. People don't realize that. They think it's just grown in the Midwest. Um. But there's so many different reasons why the beef in America is the greatest, and one of them, I will tell you it has to do with the grain and our corn and how we feed them. Another one has to do with genetics, so the cows born America have better genetics, although in Iowa they say corn fed is the best way to go. Yes, I mean there's something for everyone. We have so many different options and programs in this country that it satisfies everyone. You are so tiptoeing around this whole question, aren't you. No? No, I'm no, I'm just trying to be politically correct, tell you everything all in one phone call. And it's cool that we're airing this on our podcast, right, this is like kind of this could be. This is okay. We're not like we're not saying anything bad. I mean, are we in the bat cave right now? Do we know where? I mean, have we gone with directions to the bat cave? Um? No. I will answer everything, but like I said, I can only answer for her in our company, for my for my own company. But you know, I will say that people who pay their bills absolutely get preferenced. People who are loyal gets preferenced. People you know, who have been buying prime meats from us, you know, every week, every day, every year absolutely get You have restaurants, you have restaurants that actually have been with you for years and years, and you get the selection. So when it comes to beef, it's all about prime. And there's so little bit to go around that every day on the meat buying line, everyone's trying to get jockey for position. Is that a fair statement? Yes, Now you have to understand, you know, there's only two to six percent that come out as prime every week as we're supplying New York, Chicago, Vegas, you know, all these wonderful, great cities with so many great steakhouses, and then you know we sell Japan and now China just opened up, so there's a huge demand for the greatest means this is part of the reason why it's very expensive, you know, supply and demands people don't realize. And also the other thing is, I know I'm totally getting off subjects. You're a pleasure to have on the seriously make my loins. I love it. So the other thing is is that, um, you know, animals are like people. They're big, they're small, they're lean, they're fat. You know that they're not like pencils or bullets and a bullets act, they're not all the same. And we feel that every use of meat has value, just like art. Some is worth more than others, exactly. You see where you're going with that. And vegetarians they believe that every single animal has a purpose as well. We're not going in that direction, but okay, I understand. So in a nutshell, if you see the word prime on a menu for steak, that's you're definitely getting the best cut of beef available, right, correct, It's very valuable. And the reason why it's I supposed to use U s d A No, No, everything's U s d as the United States Department of Agriculture us A primes like that's a grade of meat you have time that's in the best steakhouses. Then you have choice, and then you have select t t buy select for the family. I have a question, So is it safe to say, Susie, is it safe to section? Just remember that that prime is a grade. It's like a PC D. You get great in order prime. You hear that off airheads, there's trying different levels. What you have said that it doesn't matter. You can hide behind the word prime, choice, which is better than select. What comes after select? But you don't even know what you have to select? What should I not be buying? What? No? No, no, no? You should buy whatever you can afford. And all the meat in America is wonderful, delicious and safe and good for you. Right, what's the cheapest grade? Goodbye? Like like steak, steak some some kind of There's two things. It has to do with grades, okay, and then it also has to do with the cut of meat. So what we call middle meat. It like ribs and loins and filets are very expensive and there's a huge demand for it. What a tongue outer cut? The outer cut yet tongue I see that as a child. But there's other, uh, you know, cuts that um are not as expensive, like say the chuck which is around the neck, or the top round which is the London broil. That's like you know that that's some low end stuff. Well, you know, I don't like to say low end because everything has a value. And you know, like I said, you should buy the best meat you could afford. But meat is meant to be enjoyed, and meat is a celebration. Do you ever take anyone out for anything but a great steak for a birthday anniversary? That's that's what just happened. I just went out for somebody's birthday, and this is what happened exactly. My question is this, So is it safe to say that if I was to open up a steakhouse next week, I would bones I would most likely not get the best of cuts. You get the now. Um, when there's a lot of it, we love to sell it. But um the think you know me, you have an in t bone. Okay, I understand I get in business. You know who you know, so you supply she make sure you get your your fair share of prime. God less of the check, less of the check. We have to pay our bills in seven days. People don't understand restaurants don't want to pay you for you know, alright, why don't they want to pay you? Well, that's just how it is, you know, the quicker you pay, you know, we remember it's all about getting paid. We want to thank you so much for being a part of this podcast. We will be in touch with you. Give us a website for you, Susie So we are Strassburger Steaks dot com, s t r a s S Burgers, Surgers. Look at them and you've got and Susie Sarloin. Look for them in your groceries refrigerator and please call me for any more meat questions. I want to your voices. I want the sampler. She's going to send a case of stuff. Yes tomorrow morning. Do you have anything organic? Do you have anything organic? You know I used to have some organic and just not. Yes and script that two totally different stories, and I believe we'll be selling it again. But we do have the natural and we love Oh. Can I do a shout out to all the hard working American ranchers. Yeah, absolutely, they're the ones that are We love them. They are the real stars of the unit ranches, of the the people that grow our food. I'm talking about farmers ranchers and producers. I love you, and I am so grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Give me this song by Dead Eyed Dick new Age Girl. Come on. When I talk, when I think steak, when I think meat and potatoes, I always think. I think this song all time. Give me to me. Come on, dead I Dick new Aide girl. Hold on, don't even tell me they don't have it. It's the perfect song. No, I know exactly the line you're looking. It's the perfect steak song. I know why because it says she don't eat meat. You right, Come on, this is the perfect steak song. I hate to say it. Don't even tell me to happen. Don't happen? Scary? Are you kidding? She's a vegetarian, right, she don't eat meat, but she sure likes the bone. Are you kidding me? It's not in assist it's not here. You gotta be joking. You have it on your iPod? Hung up, dude, Come on, man, there's no way. How does that come on? That's the song? Let me find it. Hold on, I'll look for it. You're gonna make me play this out of my damn phone. Yes, that's ridiculous. There we go. It's like this where here we go? I got it, I got it, I got it, you got it. Don't eat meat the bone right there? Man, every mode when I hear this song, I want to go to a steakcaust does. What does he say? Come on? Play it again? Don't eat meat the bone, Susie, sir Lloyd. That's always a play for her. Whenever we have Susie, sir Lloyd, iine that can that be her theme song? She's gonna come in and ready like this, don't eat meat Susie. I can do. She just talks. It doesn't matter. She just talks and talks and talks. And I'm trying to develop the skill of, you know, of courteously letting them no, courteously letting them go kind of like no, just try, kind of like okay, thanks for calling. All right, there's no great way of wrapping anything up. I guess I have to learn to take your word for it that you know, she totally got nervous. Man, I do love her though. She's awesome. She didn't want to really go there, but she did say there's some politics. There's all kinds of politics, and she was really careful. I was right though, I was right, So it was what else did you do over your vacation? Man, Well, first of all, you finished talking about your guy, Pat McGann, because that's how this whole thing started. You forget a chance. How is Sebastian man scalco. I mean, dude, are you kidding me? He's a Stan He's the headline and not Pat McGann. But Pat McGahn was very funny, you know, so he came out evidently you gotta have a good opener. You can't be Sebastian menast mena Scalcon. You can't be him and have a big show at the Briganda. Now, for those of you that are listening right now, you may not know what the Briganda is. The Briganda is a is a really big famous casino in Atlantic City in New Jersey. And uh it's it's one of the top trending spots, right you go there quite often. Yeah, it's probably the replace. It is probably the most agis you can get in Atlantic City. And they got a fantast They got a massive club there, the Premiere, right, Premiere nightclub, which, by the way, by the way, sucks that it was not open on a Thursday night. It wasn't open. Now it's only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I don't believe it. Monday was because it took the place of Murmur, and Murmur Monday was the hottest party in a ninety mile radius of that area for ten years and Murmur closed, so it took over. It's now Premiere Mondays and they have some big name DJs that will go through on a Monday. Let me tell you something, Monday is more popular than the Saturday night at Premiere UM. By the way, they did not pay for this, They're not no. Well, let me tell you what's going. So so Sebastian man Scalco mana Scalco, he was at Premiere the new club. Did you see that? They so I had to re gram it. So he h's the gram himself in the club. I'm like Saturdays at the table with bottles my girlfriend. The music is blast. He's he's got bottles and a table and he's you know, wait, I got it right here. I'm gonna pull it up here. Here it is. He's in a club, he's that Premiere after one of his shows. Let me describe it first before you play I mean, he's in this club and it's not like a club that like, you know, like you would knew me when when more or less always frequent. It's it's a club that's like designed to get you going. It's bottle service. It's bumping Neon crazy light nightclub right, nightclub, right, And he's in the back, and they got a DJ playing the music. And then I guess they brought in a couple of guys with like real drums, like percussion, right. Well, they do that at nightclubs. You have, you know, not a nightclub guy. Okay, So just so you know, wherever I go to nightclubs like Miami, New York, Vegas, when you go to these big nightclubs, at some point during the night, some random instrument player will play with the DJ of like all the hip hop and all the dance songs going on. So like when Mr saxel Beat was popular, that those saxophone songs like Saxophonist would come in and trying to do Dold Do Lulu and they play with it. Give me, I'm gonna show you, Mr Saxo. We're right, they are stepping it up. I guess in some of these this but I'm not just talking about like a saxophone to be like elite. Remember this song here here, this is the song, Yeah, give it to me. When the DJ would play this, a saxophonist would come out and try and play with the DJ and walk around free standing, walk around everyone at the table, walking around to the girls on the dance floor, and just play the saxophone with the music going on in the club. And they've done it with all types of instruments. I've seen, percussion, I've seen everything. I've seen the drummers, I've seen. Well that's what happened. So so, and they don't do this that like you can go to any club and you're not gonna get okay, But like these Velvet Rope Premier ye come yeah, I mean so super high on their list, like not everyway he's getting into these clubs. That's where they do these things in the club. And he's sitting in a private area in this club and there and they bring in a guy with drums and he's drumming to the beat of whatever they were playing in the club, and he's so all of a sudden, he can't believe it. And he he has his phone out and he's and he's and he's like, you know, videoing it, and then he turns around he goes a fucking marching band. So he can't even believe what's going on. So here I have the clip. So here's the clips. He's got it comedy, that Sebastian comedy, right, So yeah, that that's that's his Instagram comedy. He's he's so started. So here here it is right the music is playing and there's a drummer banging on the drums right, so he screams because the lights are just going all over the place. This was the song that I was playing. Oh is that a song? Five more hours d r oh with Chris break here? Oh, this is the song this right being It's gonna really get in now, It's gotta really get going right here, it gets going right here. It's a great song. I think we start the morning show with this tomorrow. I'm gonna I'm gonna put this in for Elvis. What do you want to do? Okay? So this okay? So this is playing and then these guys walk into the club with these drums and they're slacking these drums right, and I can't believe what he's see it. All of a sudden, the camera pants to him and he yells to the camera and he goes, I'll fear Jake bad, and then he does his tagline that he does, which is the name of his tour, Why would you do that? I mean, that's his that's his The name of his tour is why would you do that? This is a great song. Yes, just comes right here, right Robbers. They're just holding away and then the whole crowd is going nuts, neon lights everywhere the base. Yes, I think that right, I mean, and people are jumping. I mean they're going crazy bad. Why would you do that? Dude? It was insane because, you know what the funny thing is kind of families and a wife and kids from Chicago. I don't think he's really seen nightlife recently. I was just gonna say the same thing, that he's funny because you can relate to him, you know, like he does jokes about real things that are going on in the world. Like he talks about like like the guy that got kicked off the plane, you know, and he says, like, you know, it's in the news where the guy was asked to get off the plane and he didn't want to get. He sits there and says, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna kill these jokes when he goes He's like when four stormtroopers come marching down down the aisle of a plane and they tell me to get off, I don't sit there and go no. I go okay. So, so you would like me to get off the plane right now, or you're gonna beat my ass and and wait your three days for the next flight. Okay, I'll do it, I'll do it. Yeah, he's just he does all these jokes that you can relate to, you know, like what else they do? Oh, you would like this? So being that your Italian? Right, Yeah, I think I know where you're gonna go with this. He says that in Italian families they wait for people to die, not to hear their will, but to fight over their refrigerator and be like, who who gets Grandma's refrigerator? He says, Italian people got refrigerators all over the house. You gotta refrigerator in the garage, you gotta refrigerator the basement right when mom. Buddy Jason has like three of them. Jason Smaller, We've had him on the podcast, right he goes he when we need extra food, go get okay a tony. Then you get the food out of refrigerator. Which refrigerator Which on the one? Yeah, because you have to have one refrigerator that holds everything from Sam's Club. You got to Sam's Club, you load up. Oh no, we also have freezers. Refrigerator you got freeze met for years he said his dad's got refrigerators. He's like, he's like, he's like, go get the canalies that are in the refrigerator in the basement in the bottom right. So and my favorite with when he just talks about holidays and Italian families and comes over with with with something wrapped in tinfoil. God, and come in with the tinfoil And what is this? What am I supposed to put this out? I don't know what it is. There are some really good comedians right now that are tapping into you know, they're they're they're not sitting there aching of stupid jokes. They're tapping into like what people are really going to, real life scenarios that they're shining a light on something that you don't think about every day. Yeah, and when you when you hear them, you go Oh my god, that's that's I just I just did that or that just happened to me, you know, So he want very observe it. They probably go around life and just like taking notes. I'm gonna make fun of this. So he just got married and he said, and I'm sorry, he just had a baby. So him and his wife went to visit I guess his mother's side of the family, you know, and they must be very well to do. So he says, he says, my wife's family are these kind of people. He goes, you go to sit down and talk, and she says the white the wife goes, I'm gonna have another glass of shot night. Are are are like She's like, he's making fun of the way that these rich people laugh, Like no one really laughs like this, but these horty how people he talked, he did a whole routine about the Hampton's you do that at your show. Well, okay, so he didn't say him, but it was sort of like that where he went golfing and he doesn't like the golf and he was he was a fish out of water. So yeah, you know the thing about him, and it doesn't you don't have to be Italian to appreciate him. It's really any culture, any family, any barbecue, cookout, picnic. Like he's super relatable. If you have a chance, he's got a showtime or an HBO. Specially if you google Sebastian m A YouTube s c A l c O Sastian Maniscalco rewinding the podcast a couple of times. Just go you'll see a lot of YouTube clips he's on. He's got Facebook clips, He's all over the place. He's sold out, so he sold seven seventh sold out shows. I mean the guys making money right now. I mean, that's crazy he's making So the opener comes out and opening Pat malloyan's no Pat, what's his name, Pat, Pat McGann or something like that, Pat McCann. Anyway, he said, he comes out and he does this thing about like how he just had a baby and he's married as well, blah blah blah. But some of us single friends, I eat you Scary Jones goes out and they call him on the phone. You're like like, yeah, man, we're going out tonight. We're gonna crush it. We're crushing it tonight. And he's like, where how do you talk? What do you crush. So then he says, he goes, He's like some of my friends, they go see that chick over there, I'm gonna I'm gonna destroy her. It's like it's like it's just twenty two years old. Well what are you destroying? And you're not destroying anybody. It's like taking people literally and it's like if you know what, if you held up a microphone and secretly recorded eavesdrop on anyone's night, that is what you get. This is how they talk. This is how people talk. I've been out with guys that talked like that. Maybe I might have even done that at one time or another. I'm gonna destroy that. Yeah, okay, all right. Anyway, it was fun. That was one of our nights. And like I said, Bobby Steakhouse, where I noticed you went to the North Fork of Long Island. You went out to Uh then when I spent now you were in the Hampy Hamps. We spent time with the family golfing. Yeah. No, no, well that the Hamptons is on the South Fork and the North Fork is more like wine country. It's like, yeah, they like the North Fork. Like stairs across the water, you can see Connecticut so the South Fork is the Hamptons North Fork is uh, you know where it stays at the Connecticut. And so yeah, my so, my white wife's family, they had a house out there and we spent some time out there. Was good. I did some golfing with legendary picture of the Yankees, Marianna Rivera. That was a very cool event. The greatest closure of all time, supposedly arguably number forty two. The last to wear that after that is for and so out to hold onto it. So our our our buddy Garrett set it up. He know, dude, just like you know a lot of restaurants and a lot of club owners and a lot of hotels. Dude, Garrett knows a lot about celebs and uh charity events money. He really. I gotta tell you, man, I'm telling for a real If ever there's a selebrity event going on, I would guarantee he knows how to either get in or he's a part of it. He really is. He's he doesn't really like do a lot of velvet ropes like you do, but he likes to go to some of these where he's invited. So he got me into this golf charity outing um with Marianna Rivera and and a list of celebrities. How did you feel. I felt very uncomfortable, felt very small, right, a very fish out of water. Um, because you know, dude, you you and I know we're in radio bro At the end of the day, we're the bottom feeders of the entertainment industry, and we are. I mean, look, I know the show that we work for. You know, it's a popular show. It's a popular show. But the thing is, at the end of the day, if you're not the man, if you're not Elvis Duran himself, you know, like you're really nothing on the show, you know, So like we're not a celebrity, if you're not a movie star or something. Yeah, because you how do you surrounded bus? So you had to give money. You had to donate money to go golfing with some of these celebrities sports athletes. So if you're a member of the golf club, you you got to pay X amount of money right to golf with. Like Justin Timberlake was there, Like, I mean, that's crazy, So I would imagine he went for top dollars. Oh my god. Person. Yeah, the guy who said I'm gonna I want to go off with Timberlake probably put how much he donates, Oh, I actually I don't even know. But and that's the thing, I don't know how much people donated a list of celebrities and all the money goes to one of the local hospitals that Marianna Rivera does a lot of there. Well, I got hold on give some from me. And you know, like the legendary Jerry Cooney, Jerry Cooney who everybody knows is like, you know, the great White Hope boxer, like he was the guy that fought the whole Larry Holmes back in the day, Okay, and then what about who else? And Lou Holtz from the former coach of Notre Dame Lou Holtz, all right, and then then there was great Right, there's a lot of a lot of stars. So how much do you think you and me's the guy that GoF with you? How much did he paid to golf with you? Actually golfed with another football star Willie? Uh? Wow, you are brave, because I'm not ready. He was from the Jets, so while he was he he was drafted by the Steelers. He was part of the Pittsburgh Steeler Super Bowl team. Then he left during free agency and he signed with the New York Jets. And so Willie Cologne comes out. Willie Cologne is about four times the size of me. He's massive, massive, right, So it's safe to say boys big, safe to say all in all, but he felt you felt like you shouldn't have been there. You were not like, which one of these people don't belong here? I did not belong belong which one of these things people are doing there? I golfed with this guy. One guy was like some kind of a financial guru for Wells Fargo. Another guy was some like a lung doctor or chief. And me and you know, so it wasn't but but either way, it was not used to see Mariana Rivera there and um a lot of the other guys. Tiki Barber was there, a bunch of others. Select So yeah, while you were doing that, what would you do? First of all, we spent a day together. We went through our buddy Cubby's house. Remember way back in this podcast, I said I wasn't invited to the Cubby party because I didn't give him a wedding gift. You were not invited the first time. It was a rain out, though I was invited to that were not. I was at a town on the original date, and okay, whatever, he invited me to the he invited me to the to the rain date version. I wish we can get Cubby on on our on the show. So our buddy Cubby through a and that's that's his name, his real name is Cubby. So he threw a barbecue. Scary was not invited. Not. Then then he started calling around it and like kind of like beating her on the bush. Hey, you're having a party, having a party. So then Cubby invited you to this the second one shut up. He would never he didn't. He would leave me out on purpose. Anyway. Point is, I went and you know what I did that day? I actually stopped by my Why. I got him a bottle of rose? You did? That was the hit of the party. It was a three leader bottle of rose and went fast and you or your wife drank a half of it, by the way, she got drunk. Listen and uh andk she got And I gave him his wedding gift that day, I said, a gift card for like um like h pottery barn or one of those home depot things. He was building a It was kind of a housewarm he's gonna get a house. I'll kill two birds with one stone here and get him a nice gift. And you know he was appreciative of it. But because I remember I was invited to his wedding way back, and I didn't go to the wedding, and I never got him a gift, and I thought that's why I was disinvited to his first barbecue. So everything came together. You know, it was funny because you know, people wanted to bring a gift or two or bring something to the party. Now, so we got what did what did we bring? We we went to the store. We got like a barbecue set of like uh, some some glasses for margharita's and a margarita mix, and we got like some kind of an ice thing that holds this ice like a whole set. You know, scary walks in with this. How big? I mean, how do we describe how big? It makes a statement. Sometimes people will be with a bottle of wine. Bottle of wine. Maybe you get two bottles of wine Rose all day Rose, the trendy wine at the moment everyone knows that, yes, but dude, you went out of your way to stand out. You brought in this bottle of wine. It had to be two and a half feet tall. You really were was that was? I was dog? God, I wanted to talk about this so badly. Why don't you write it down the top? God whine and I forgot. I forgot to talk anyways, talk about it. The wine. The rose was good. The rose was good. How can we get a picture of it? What? What do you know what Brandon was? It was a X. It wasn't the one that everybody's going after. Apparently, Uh, there's a certain rose that's that that is like the best of what's available. I forgot the name of it. I'm looking up now, is it rose X? Come on? I think that's our money exchange. It wasn't Echange's ad a X. We are so not prepared for today's podcast. We do not have any of this stuff on. I wish we could talk about. No picture of actual rose come up? Hold on, dude, But it's not just any rose wine. The size of the bottle is what we want to talk about. When people walk in and they have to be noticed. You handed it all. Now, he had some people poor, He had like bartenders, so she couldn't lift the bottle by herself and you two people. So when you walked away, I said to her, I said, I said, I said, do you believe this bottle of wine? And she did one of these like under her breath chuckles because she can't say no that she can't use the bottle. But there's no way in hell that she wanted to be out there. It was so hot, by the way, it was so hot when nobody gave the poor girl an umbrella to stand under. She's phasting under the sun, pouring people drinks, and you give her a three foot bottle of wine that she now has to open up and news And can I tell you something, No, it was not even that was not even the biggest one day had. That was a three leader bottle. They had one double the size of that, a six leader bottle. Bro I'm not kidding. What's the matter with it, dude? That's because what's the matter with me? Say we're doing it. If you get him a nice bottle of wine and the gift card, that's fine. Do you have a picture of it somewhere? No, That's what I'm saying. We gotta get one. We gotta find the bottle of this size bottle. This thing was like maybe like three gallons of wine and this thing it was, it was, it was three leaders. It was not unnecessary and made a statement and people loved it. And it went. No, even the bartender, I'm telling you when you left, she said, but she angry. No, she wasn't. I said, do you know, do you believe this? And she went, I'm just gonna pour it. I'm just gonna poor it. I mean, dude, she was holding this thing. She needed to help her to pick it up. Dude, hand that's not funny, everybody. It's a conversation piece. But it's such a douchebag move to Why is a douchebag move because now you're just handing it off to somebody else, like here, you deal with it. Now. Had she broke that bottle, you what would you have said? You would have said, klutz. You wouldn't have felt bad for her lugging his bottle around. Horrible, horrible, Oh my god. All right, whatever I have, I'm looking, I'm looking for it right after. We're not prepared, man, I forgot the name of it. Whatever, but I'm prepared. Don't worry about it, you know, what well what We'll find the name, but it doesn't matter if you google it. I'm gonna google three Leader bottle. I bet you's the only one. A six Leader bottle of rose, like six Leader bottle rose. Watch here, it's gonna come up right now. It's massive, massive images rose. It's a I X rose. There is a bottle. That's it. Yeah, that's the bottle. A bottle of this is on display. No one ever purchases a bottle like this. It's like, here's their higher line. Look look at look at the busy in America uses the bottle of this to put like on display. No one buys this, so I know that's not true. How much was this bottle? How much you pay for this thing? You got to be a hundred bucks? I can say a hundred it was. It was a hundred and ten dollars. But had here's the best, here's the best, the six Leader bottle. It was a hundred and two hundred and twenty dollars two for the six Leader. Now I want to tell you something. Okay, I did the math, and I realized they fucked me because how m a seven fifty MILLI Leader bottle, which is a standard bottle was about seventeen dollars um. And now if there are seven seven fifties one point five leaders, that was the next size up, which is typical. That's a magnum thereabouts, right. So if there are uh four bottles of seven fifty MILLI leader in a three bottle, a douchebag tax of about fifty dollars extra because because it's seventeen four, it's sixty four dollars. Because nobody sells these bottles. So if I would have bought, if I would have bought three leader's worth of the seven fifty bottle and I put a bunch of those bottles, I would have gotten I would have paid about half the price. I paid double just to get the bigger bottle just and the two the six leader bottle was four times as much, So you would have paid a douchebag tax off. Why couldn't you just walk to Cubby's house and walk in with just a regular bottle and like a nice gift card for the guy. Why couldn't you do They have done that? Why did you have to walk game with a wheel barrel? Don't want to make a stake? You needed a like a guy and a wheel barrel to bring it on in there. I mean this thing came out of like a wooden box with all kinds of confetti all over. The play had to be raised heads. They would not nobody would travels like that. That's where you go over the town. That's why Cup doesn't invite you to this party. You didn't were not invited in the first one. So on the second one you have to be showy and you gotta walk in when his big gigantic bottle for no reason. Unbelievable. That sounds like it's time welcome. You've got mail. You know it's exciting that we go on vacation for two weeks. Yes, and I'm thinking out of sight, out of mind. Everyone forgets us. By the way, guys, get ready for this all fairhead. Scary has been itching to read these emails. Go ahead. I want to just say, nobody forgets about us. People remember us. They actually emailed us while we were on vacation. Scary was sending me these emails all over vacation. Did you see this one? See this one? This one? Because Greg t, Let's face it, you think we're all washed up? This podcast is done. You would to the vacation with such a negative attitude. As podcast has gone through major changes, bro it has been, but they're not for the worst, and we're still building from the beginning. We're debatable. We're gonna start, We're gonna start a new this summer. I'm telling I'm telling you. You know and I listen, I know you you have a lot of stuff going on. I'm gonna I don't wanna. I want to manage everyone's expectations that for this week, specifically, we're gonna have this podcast right now, and then tomorrow. I'm busy, Gregg Te's busy Wednesday, gret He's having his tooth pulled in operations. But I'm gonna be in here with Share and she's ready to cotton, ready to shoot. And then she's going to Los Angeles the next day, so she won't even be here after that for a few weeks. And uh and and then we we're not gonna be around Thursday either because I have to record something for the Public Service Department, So we might have to recording for the Public Service departm you're gonna get to off air shows this week? Wait, what are you recording for the Public Service Department? I have some we called it's called get active. Okay, so why can't we do the Why can't we you an off air show, get active? We could do that. Why not and take the off air show live? You know what? I could do that? So if you have the records on the for the PS for the public service show, let's do a um an off fair show, get active and let them run it if you want. You know, this is the affair show live and get active the whole thing. All right, fine, we'll do that. What is it with with I have to prepared. I'm not prepared to either. Because so anyway, Marcella is a new fan. Want to give a shout out to you. Hope you guys had a great vacation. The morning show was on a two week break, so ran out of choices on my long commute, started binge listening to your podcast and she has uh some comments you wanted to share? Uh? Well, she prefers the show without ball freak RANI to to paraphraser. I don't want to dis Ronnie. Ron Ronnie still a great friend of ours. She's not hearing the thing's not the podcast. We need the two of you. I prefer with no no need for special sound effects or whatever or anything. Bald Freak added to the show. He seemed to always be in a bad mood. Now that's just that's just his but he was. He was a little bit down on the interrupts you in several of the episodes with loutin music while you guys are talking. All we need is to hear the two of you talk or fight or do what you guys do best. Love also Share knows she's also the cherry on top of the cake. Please have her on more often debatable All right, listen, I love also like the name of the show. Please do not change the introductory song and the logo. God hate, I hate the logo. Your new offair head Marcella scary and great t PSU scary, great Tea, other stars period. All we need is the two of you. It's not true, Nicole new Fan. There is room for one or two more people on this on this show, for sure, we are there. We are drowning the two of us. We're not drowning. I would say I have to go do an appearance in about ten minutes, and you think we're drowned. Drowning, Nicole says, I also listened to you guys on The Big Show on Demand and uh at work driving this email. I listened to The Big Show on Demand at work every day, and I also listened to the Girls podcast and Acquire Taste. Never thought to listen to your podcast, figuring it was more of a boys club thing. Well, while you guys are on vacation, I needed something to fill my hours at work and decided to give it a try. I have now binged over fifty episodes, the good ones with shut Up Dick. You guys are hilarious. I'm so glad I checked it out. I know I have a lot of catching up to do. I'll continue to listen to the Big Show in addition to acquire Taste, and you guys, we'll greg to ever get T shirts. We'll stay ever. Interview Mersa Tomag Never we did have her on. We did, We eventually did. Yes. Yes, can't wait to find out the answer to all these questions. Fan for life A fairhead Nicole. All right, and I got another one from Maria Alvinos. I told you he was waiting. He was clearly greg t. Jacalobe debated for a long time sending this email because I know you both here quite often recently felt the need for more and more to contact you. Like most of your listeners, I grew up listening to Elvis duran last few years of my life, I changed my career goals. I moved to Wantage, New Jersey. From there to Cohasset, Massachusetts, near Boston. She now gets us on the IHR radio app. It was a bizarre change. And she goes on to say on and on and on to say, all right, listen. Uh, my days got longer, and I found it being a problem, had a lot of time to fill. Um So I drove in my car and found that with a ten hour round trip back and forth, sometimes visiting friends, I found the music to be repetitive. Uh found you guys repeat? She stopped. She stopped. She hated repeating old morning shows because she would start listening to the Elvis Durant Show on demand. Uh. Well, now got to tell you your podcast the reason you read your music. You go on your tirades, you trip over yourselves right now exactly, but you cater to your listeners, feak. This show is a part of you. It's important that you're aware of the optimism and pessimism at the same time that your mental and physical health can bring. I feel that since the bald Freak has been attending to his own busy schedule, you have increasingly negative thoughts and things to say about the podcast and accusing it of sucking. Do you not realize and recall how great it was when you started the podcast. It was just the two of you. Anything was possible because you believe it to be. Do not be discouraged by the changes that have happened the same way the changes that have happened in my life. And my God, you've lost me already. I feel like she goes on for another eight paragraphs. The point is she wants to say that she reminds. She wants to remind that you guys that coming from an outpouring of the love, I felt you needed to hear Greg T. I filed you both since your childhood's and have nothing but complished. I have nothing but confidence in your podcast. It's disheartening to hear when Gregg T feels otherwise. Remember when things seem difficult to always have faith in the small things, like your fans. Reassurance will always be there. From Maria alf I gotta tell you that it is the longest email ever. You know what three times as long? No, I want to say, Maria, I thank you for this. Oh my god? Hey, you got a song Sammy Hagar's. I can't drive for the five. No, we don't have it. I don't know why. Man, it just just popping in my mind. I want to hear wants to tell us that we have a great podcast. You don't have, you know, but I can't drive with the five? Hey do you have a song by the scent from the theme song to Power? I don't you know what I do have? What is the things to have to go? Because I haven't appearance with Samung? Yes a song to Power? I gotta go up to Union Square. I'll go with you have to go that way anyway. Hold on, wait, what's the theme? So I got I got stuff to post a podcast? Wait a second, you give me the song. It's called rich Town. You got a big rich town, big rich town, big rich town. I need to hear this song. I'm so sorry. That will not go down in radio history right there, No big rich town. That that email. The reading of the email I was trying to paraphrase, I kid you not getting you were horrible dude, it was seven paragraphs long. Bro horrible, give me Big rich Town by fifty cent. It's got to be in that in here, Get out of here. It's got to be in there in hepe, Come on, how about G unit? It's under G unit. What's you called again, bit, it's called Big rich Town. No, not in here, dude, you don't have it. Come on, man, no they knew better. Are you going to reach for it? Big rich Town Unit? No not here. I just come from the poor po Yeah. Well listen, dude, well listen, you gotta watch Power. I want to talk about Power, and the off air heads need to send emails to Greg t consoling him. Yeah, listen, here's the thing. Next time we lost over, the next time we come on. Right, Yeah, I do want to talk about Power. The show Power. It's on Stars. I beg of you to watch Power as fast as you can, to catch up, catch up with you. I really want to talk about how good the show is. I want to talk about so much about Power. I beg of you. Maybe we can get one of the guys down the hall to come in who watches the show, and bring him it's so good. A right, this is a terrible way to start and to come back. It's not no, it's we're building blocks. We start with the we start with the primer, and then we go with a fresh code of paint. It was horrendou I'll be here Wednesday with chair. We could have talked about how how crazy all the NBA signings are, how these NBA players are signing from millions and millions of dollars, hundreds of millions. Not even worse. We gotta talk about a little bit of sports. We do a little bits about sports. Gregt He and I argue about this stuff. We gotta talk just a little bit about sports, just a little Restaurants, steak houses, cigars tell you about the majority of my vacation. I want to talk about nature and cigars, all right. I don't know commedias give a funk about that. What do you mean there's so many good cigars out there. I wear Ben Sherman shirts. I don't know about no Nat. I have a new Ben Sherman shirt. Yeah, I'll bring that in. I'm too relatable than Nat Sherman, who the hell smokes cigars that listen to his podcast, You're the only one that's selfish. We should talk about. That's thinking of the people. We are thinking about that. Please we should tell us for better or for worse at the affair show at gmail dot coms cigars, power, what else? Anna talking about feel good restaurants even than ego snack. Here's all kinds things comedians make Greg t realize life is worth living. I want to talk about so many other things. You got a lot to talk about and a lot to think about because your wife and kids are gone for a week. So you know, I'm a lot of crutchfoone for me. Oh my god, every man's gonna watch on rops, every great great's gonna watch and he's gonna get he's gonna get on whiskey. I am. And he combs a tub, Oh my god, a lot. He combs some top, he comes some top. I would think, see if the listeners could decipher what we just said. That yeah, backwards language. Everybody's in jack globe hashtag jacklobe. Yes, she that it's just slas slats slat. Guess yeah, it's just what
Speaker 1: Says Elvis Durand Presents Off Air show is Scary Jones and Great Tea Episode one.
