Speaker 1: Start Up Up Brooklyn by Star Up Brooklyn Boys do Up. They make it Noise Dot Up Up episode. It's the Brooklyn Boys podcast. Scary Yeah, OK, I gave you. I gave you half a second there. I'm not just I'm not trying to do that. Yeah, scaring Brodie's Brodie scary thing you do? All right? Fine, my name is on the logo. That's fine. I win Scary and Brodie. I'm good with that. You got the logo. I didn't make the logo. I just picked something. You can say it all you want. I have a couple of email that I want to read later that that speak to Scary Brodie. Brodie scary but and I have a couple of Itune reviews we should get to. Oh yeah, by the way, So if you're if you're tuning in on this podcast on today is Thursday, March fifteen, the IDEs of March. Whatever time you noticed this podcast went live, No, there could have been up an hour and a half earlier. It could have been forty five to fifty minutes of that was scary. About two hours before that, it was like, what are we doing the podcast? When you're doing the podcast, And I said, well, I have to record Walkers and Talkers with Jamie, my other podcast that that is earlier, and then we do this one because Elvis is filming after Elvis in here. We don't have the studio anyway. You like being in the in the big studio. So I like this studio because there's never any complication with it. I mean, it's easy. The other the old other studios janketyre glitchy, they're disgusted, they're glitchy. They're filthy too. I ran my finger across the oil consop. Who don't do that? Yeah, that's where the other DJ's work, and they eat and get food and they crusts over and yeah, I don't know someone's using new hair gel because the buttons are sticking and greasy. And I feel like this studio is preserved, right. Well, that's why we do a Walking Dead podcast in there, because it's it's like zombie guts on the board. It's and so you nagged the hell out of me. Let's go, let's go. I want to get the book boys done right. But then so I walk in, I lay at all my papers here these right here, right all here, all these papers. It's and I said, I'm right ready to go, And you said, um, you know there's uh corn beef and cabbage on the second floor. One go, yeah, And I said, we have a podcast record. Oh no, big deal, We'll just run down there for a minute. As it turns out, our company, I Heart Media is celebrating St. Patrick's Day two days. But I don't know why they didn't do it tomorrow. But that's a different story. I don't know because tomorrow's Friday, but it leaves early. So it's like St. Patrick's Day, corn beef and cabbage from our favorite Italian restaurant ant, Putchees. I'm like, wait, that something doesn't make any hold on not a sponsor, They're not a sponsor. No, otherwise it would have played that chick and but so we got we got Irish food from an Italian restaurant. But here's the thing. It was laid out to look like it was from a Jewish deli. Yeah, because it was corn beef, right, which is all right, But it was separate. The corn beef was not in the cabbage. I'm not a cabbage eater. I'm a cornb theater. Yeah, because hashtag tribe. But there was no Russian dressing. So there was the rye bread, the corn beef, no Russian dressing. So I here's the here's the gabilla is knishes. By the way, By the way, I know a guy who knows Mr Gabilla. The people you don't know what most people don't know what a kindish is. Okay. First of all, you have to spell it because people like I sh right, it's not nish. I worked with a with a woman in Northern Jersey who had never the Nony Jews. Didn't know what kindihal was. What's that? She said? I just saw, what's a niche? I was in the supermarket. What's a niche said? It's not like the word knife. It's not not a knife. It's a condition. But either there there are you going to explain a condition. Don't explain meat balls to people? Okay? Ah wow um. A kindish is usually a baked or fried pastry or outer shell filled with usually potato mostly. A second choice would be casha. Google casha with a k not kesha um. But you can have broccoli or broccoli and cheese. It's like described. You can get it at football stadiums and most of the Northeast potatoes like a mashed potato, consistency on the ends, it's so good. Now, I liked the baked ones that are around like a dome, and you get the good ones. They're blackened on the outside, so good. But the square knishes classic right. Two different things. Now, some would say it's that your your heretic. The problem is they're bringing a Jewish delicacy on St. Patrick's Day for Irish. So although the corn beef usually goes with the kindish for the Jewish people, the corn beef goes does not go with the Kindish on St. Patrick's Day. So I feel like this Italian place kinda decided, you know what, right, we're just bringing it all and it was free, making it more Jewish from and they threw in a couple of loads of soda bread. But the sandwiches are on the right bread. So I said, before we get this podcast going, let's go downstairs and let's I mean that the smell was waffing through the air. But the smell was wafting through the air, okay, said Wafing. Waffing said, well, I don't know. It's like a pancake, but it's in shapes like squaz So I so don't you think that it was worth the fiftiest detour y? Yes, except I said, you know what we really need to record call me from cabbage, but we have to call funds free. I find we went down there and you got sucked into your second floor. You know it passed up free dessert. Come on, you can keep the cabbage. And by the way, I want to correct Elvis today. Elvis, of course, the host of The Big Big Show. He was talking about Charlie Pooth being on the show tomorrow, which is live in studio with his new hair do, and he said, why are we having Charlie Pooth on? He's Jewish, He's not Irish. I would like to take this opportunity to remind people that Jewish is a religion and Irish is a nationality. There are Jews scattered all over the world because we get chased out of got chased all over Europe in Fort growing up in Bensonhurst, we made that mistake too, like Jewish Jewish, I'm Italian. No, no, right, you're Catholic. You could be an Italian jew right, absolutely right? Yeah, such a deal, but I mean there's not many of them. No, you get chicken without the pamijan if you're religious, because you can't have beat and cheese. But um so, Charlie Poot's family could have been Jews living in Ireland, could have been you could be Jews living in Puerto Rico, could be peart Ican jew You're like, oh, was your father Puerto Rico? Your mother mother was Jewish? No, No, I'm religion anyway. So there's there's that. That's you know what, since I'm on a teaching mode, I just want to get one one little little mini mini rant, go for it. We haven't we have all our and I'll even tell you how to remember. We got a lot of these text messages this week and reminded me already. By the way, we have some grammar police stuff to go over. Oh I got some grammar police too. This is this is actually grammar police. Don't put the jingle you want to do grammar police right now? Yeah, why don't we start the show with grammar police because I have a couple of greats. Are we're gonna talk about Halsey? Yeah, that'll Bell will do that one for she burns me up. All right, here we go, grammer police, police, police Police. So I got two text messages to the Big Show yesterday when I said I at him in the Morning show, got him. I want to remind everyone that a lot is two words. It is not one word. Maybe it should be, but it is not. And here's how you remember it. A lot is a lot of words. I mean, it's too but it's it's like dessert versus desert. Desert dessert gives you the extra s. Desserts a bonus free dessert, yet a free s now. There was a commercial that used to run in New York. It was eight. Uh. I'm gonna say the one because that's what they used to say, even though last week I bitched about how the one is not necessary anymore. It's not a one hundred number. It's a eight hundred number. Okay. So they had a commercial one hundred mattress, leave off the last S for savings. Well, if you're leaving off the S, you're leaving off savings. Doesn't make any sense or want the savings. Tell me to add s for savings, don't tell me to take off the S for savings. And I'm not getting savings. So fuck you wanted a hundred mattress. You're out of business for a reason. All right, So here we go from Twitter at Brooklyn Boys w TfL sign on a store that said the Wood Heaven Cafe and Pizzeria. How the hell do you have a sign that says pizzeria and the pizzeria. The name of your business is spelled wrong. You're in the in the business of making pizza, and you spelled pizzeria p i z z A r i A pizza. No, it's not pizza area. It's p i z z e r i A. That's a permanent sign, by the way. And don't get me started, Brodie with when you look out the freaking window of our own building, there's a place called Tribeca Signs. They make signs for a limit a living. This is what they do for people. They make people professional signs. And they spelled the word Tribeca in their own sign wrong. They don't even know what name road they're living in. You spelled Tribeca t r i b e c A and they spelled the t r i b e c c A like Becca, you're in Tribeca. Your business is Tribeca Signs. They call out sign says Tribeca spell rong. You know what they call that? What do they call that that? Ladies and gentlemen? It is ironic? Is that like Hank when it's ironic? I'm sorry, I'm keeping going. Oh yeah, So talking about ironic because we talked about we broke down the Atlantis marse Sette song. By the way, if you by this point, you should have listened to the last episode when we ripped upont Lantis mar Sette song. Why because you have to listen in order. That's right. We have a new jingle reminding people listen in order, listening order. You need to remand you listen order. You need to. We should have to, mad Yeah, thank you an order because otherwise you don't get half these inside jokes we're telling right now. Okay, all right here, But we had a lot of people texting in the fact that Stephen Hawking, who is uh one of the most brilliant men on the in the history of the America or the world. I know he's British, Uh brilliant man, passed away on March fourteen, which is pie day after the circumference of a circle in the diameter at three one four. Okay, so people kept texting and what a coincidence? No, they said, how ironic he died on Pie Day? How ironic he died on on under these is grammar, it falls under you're not using right word. It's a coincidence. It's not ironic. Okay. So but then then we got someone who texted in and this one, this is my favorite text of the week if you're if you're listening, I already told you what I thought when I replied to you. They said, Stephen Hawking dying on Einstein's birthday and on Pie Day. They said, that's no coincidence. Actually, that's what coincidence means. That's an example of coincidence, don't We've got people who call coincidence is ironic and she's like, that's not that's that's no coincidence. Still more people tweeting us at Broken Boys w t F. They had a so, I guess this is like a soda machine or something or whatever it was in a convenience store. They write a sign it's a sorry for any inconvenience, but we are temporarily out of stock. Well guess what the word temporarily were spelled t E M M P E R A R L Y and out of temper temperar. Really who baby, all right, And then there was a couple of funny ones. Brodie anyway, ye have a funny I have a funny one. Oh yeah, here's a funny one. This is from David Brodie himself, brod David Brodie making it to the Grammar Police, spelling the word impeccable. I M P E C I b l E. In what tweet did I write? I'm sorry, not impeccable. Remarkable r E M A R C A b l E. Somebody pointed this out to me, Okay, remarkable addressed? Yeah, that addressed that please. You are the grammar King. And yet it's a coincidence or is it ironic that you would it would be ironic. So, um, I was on the couch doing my work and my daughter was sleeping on the couch when I came into work on in the spot where I sit in the living room. So I left the lights off, and so I was typing blindly. I have to be honest, I don't know if I just typed the wrong letter because it's in the c and the k aren't near each other. I get that, but I typed it wrong. And then what I did have to hold on the minute I posted it. You'll notice I immediately deleted it and retweeted it with the k not before this person here. Thank you so much. I will take my lumps for that. Thank you Paul McBride for sending in this screenshot of Brodie Professor Stephen Hawking has died. It's remarkable. R E M A R C A B L E. Alright, okay, and the best I can tell you is that my cousin Mark, who you know what? My cousin Mark. We talked about him on one of our earlier episodes, maybe on the fifteen Minute Morning Show. How we had a bar mitzvah about mitz on a holiday weekend and I bitched about the fact that I drive up and give up the whole weekend. My cousin Mark was emailing me about another family function in California and I have to fly out there and spend to fly out there. I'll bitch about that later. Um, and Mark is my cousin with it's M A R C. So my guess is in typing remarkable. I was thinking of Mark because he's he has the hotel information which I'm gonna hotel. Everybody made mistake. Next time, I screw up and Brody goes off. I'm going to say the same thing. When I saw it, deleted it. So here's a funny song. Hold on, Amanda d She said this picture in it's found some reasonably priced hose. So it says sales sales, say I'm gonna put this up on Instagram by the time you see this. Sales sales, sales sneakers, fifteen dollar hose, fifteen dollar boots. So there's a pole in the window and she took it at an angle where the poll was blocking the s in shoes and it says fifteen dollar hos that Amanda major props. And I wrote back, who passed that up? Hollo, Hey, who's this joining us in the studio right now? Is this one of your friends? I'm telling you like, she's not in the room anymore. But we have a lot of a lot of friends in radio around the country. And um, I have a we have three of our interns host morning shows in Boston, and I've been friends with this person. Um, this young lady who's about to say hi about six years about six years and um, she works up in Boston on a morning show up there, and she's she's on vacation this week, and so she just came back from Florida. She's like, I'll stop in New York at dual sight seeing for I go back to work on Monday, and I'll pop in and I'll say Hi, we haven't seen each other. Hi. Yeah, So, uh, you want your first name, last name? Oh you guys can't call me whatever you like. Okay, So your full name, Hello, welcome to the Brooken Boys Podcast. Your full name is made of Gandhi. Yes, Gandhi. Well, go ahead, you explained more interestingly enough, sir, he is my great grandfather. Wait a second, v Gandhi. I didn't mention that yet, Yes, sir, wa wa, hold on, hold on, hold on. Yes, we're a most royalty here, Brody, I'm aware of that. Not royalty, he was never Yeah, I mean it's a legendary family bloodline. Yes, so you're your last name is Gandhi. My last name is and Mahatma. Gandhi is your legit blood blood relo relative great great grandfather. I cannot believe you don't see it in my face. We look exactly alike. Noticed she's wearing this ceremonial robe. She hasn't eaten in three weeks. Let me get some music. Yea, I can say that only because you really do feel I feel like I'm in an Indian restaurant. Except here's the thing. We'll call you Gandhi kiss. Oh my god. Gandhi was born, was born where? And actually I was born in Columbus. You grew up in Miami, right, So this music is not appropriate. I'll shut it off. But doesn't it make you hungry a little bit? Not even gonna lie. She's not off base there. I know I'm not right. So nice to meet you. Nice to meet you too. I am so intrigued right now. I'm intrigued by you too. Why didn't you you are a little bit what about me? I'm intrigued by your intrigued nous at my Indian nous. I just I like Okay, so I like learning. When I when I told him you were going to come in today, just said said, I said your name. He's like what I said. She's legitimately Indian and generally related to Gandhi because it's not what it's not like Smith. It's an unusual name. Um are there a lot of people name with the last name Gandhi okay, yes, And there are actually some people who changed their last name to me to try and advance themselves. For you, this is the problem that we're having you with Joe's Pizza. Here in the city. There's a lot of people and famous rays. There's a lot of them. There's so many of them that have sprouted up that the original ones. It's hard to find the right one and which one is actually real and the others are just counterfeit. But you're you're You're not a fake gun. I'm not a fake one. I'm a real one, the real deal Ganda. You can go online and look at the family tree and she's on you can look. I'm so fascinated by that, are you? Yes? I am, I really am. I'm really fascinating. Friends, that's awesome. I thought he was working with me, this guy. No he's not. This is legit. He says to me, Oh, yeah, your friends Indians. So you're just gonna make believe you you're playing a joke on me. I'm like, no, legit. And what's super funny about that is that you know, because I work in radio as well, we have comedians coming all the time. And I introduced myself say Hi, I'm Gandhi and they say they do a Gandhi joke. I'm not going to call you that. That's racist. I'm like, it's not. It's my last name. It's okay, guys, I'm yeah, this is awesome. This is like beyond awesome. So no, don't expect a lot for me. I'm just a descendant, not a disciple. Well, he asked me a hundred questions about you. I did. I wanted to know all this stuff about you. I wanted to know about this is is it fair to say? So? Okay, people listening to the podcast, you guys, you guys know but scary and I grew up in a very homogeneous neighborhood. It's similar to Boston where you work, right, So we grew up in a Italian uh, first or second generation neighborhood. Like if your parents didn't the old expression off the boat like Legitimately, almost everybody's parents or grandparents growing up were from Italy and they weren't here that long. Right, the grandfather is probably living upstairs in the two family house, and so there were some of us. I'm not Italian, I'm Jewish, as I'm of Russian and Polish descent three three generations. I'm third generation American, but the fourth generation was europe anyway, So there were a lot of people that were in Italian. So I grew up saying mozzarel and presut, you know, speaking Brooklyn Italian. So growing up in that environment, unless you traveled, you really didn't know a lot of people that didn't look like us. We didn't have our culture, and so scary as an adult and he still is fascinated by different cultures because we weren't exposed. Like my kids now go to a school with everyone, there's nothing that. In fact, we're sort of minority in the sense that like I'll give you an example, if I can just go for tangent on Thanksgiving many years ago. On Thanksgiving many years ago, they said they gave the assignment in school. Hey, everyone bring in something from your culture that your culture does on Thanksgiving to add some some variety to it. So like, Scary, what is your family doing Thanksgiving? It isn't turkey and stuffing. We actually sometimes we do a pasta dish to start us off. We'll sight and so so there were people in the school. Hispanic people and and and black people were from whatever their background was they may have had some food that their culture brought into or wherever there there's a lot of people from other parts of the world, maybe first or second generation, they had great different foods to bring in at that point. My kids are fourth on one side, fifth on the other generation. American. We don't We eat turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce in the can. We don't add anything. We just do. This is what Americans have always done. You know. So well, she didn't have any of the bring so the teachers like, well, bring mats of balls or something like, we don't eat mats of balls. And Thanksgiving that's not an American tradition. It's a Jewish holiday tradition. And so again, only knowing your own culture when you grow up, you're like, so, my kids are exposed to other cultures. We warrant and so anyway that I wanted to paint the picture scary. Go ask all your lifelong questions now, and so I'll tell you what why don't want to make this podcast about Badger and Gandhi? But I asked, ask a bunch, and then I want you to to experience the full bullshit we normally do okay, So, so, so I've got stuff to complain about your your roots, your roots. She's not an are blonde? I am not a natural blond. Don't because northern there's Northern India, there's Southern India. As far as the food goes, yes, I know from the food court where I was, I did a lot of researchers. The first time I came in contact with with Indian food, it was several years ago at my local food court at a mall, and there were these two Indian places, and I'm like sitting there like that's stupid. Why would they Why would they like go into business next to each other like that? And I'm like, to Indian places next to each other in a food court. But then I found out that one of them was clearly Northern Indian cuisine cuisine and the other one was clearly Southern Indian cuisine. So what part of would you consider yourself Northern Indian or Southern India. I am actually a Mutt, which is very rare. My dad is half in half Maleali, which is South Indian Maleali. My mom is Marashtrian. So I am all three of those things. All the food. I like, you just need food. He just explained to you cultural background repeated to us. I don't want to just pronounce it anything. I can't imagine you would, but I just I don't know. I'm get one of the cultures. Give me one of them. Of the four, let's go with good, give another one to repeat Yali. So it's kind of funny. That's a that's a really tough word because they pronounced the elves differently and I can't even do it. But you're close enough, we know what you're saying. That's awesome. I think this is great. I've done nothing to accomplish anything so far. I was just born. Yeah, just yeah, But you exist, I do. I exist. We all have a story, right, we all have a story. Okay, good, I'm good girl. I'm done for now. I don't, I don't. I don't want to put you on the spot. I'm telling this stuff no because because you probably get this every every minute of your day. Weirdly enough, I don't. Most people aren't as fascinated by me as you are. Okay, insult me right there. Your whole thing is you're different. But how are you going to learn if you don't ask the questions? That's that's what I'm saying. But he gets very nervous. He's so afraid of saying the wrong thing. He inevitably says the wrong thing, but in a good natured way. Yeah, okay, but for the rest of this that you're here hanging, you're you're just like wallpaper. It's gonna be like, I don't know if that's nice, that's not nice. You know, if there's an opportunity we'll throw into we'll ask you're you're hanging with us, so feel feel like you could jump in? You want to jump in and jump in? Highly entertained guys? Are we are we getting to the to the the What do you want to do? Mail time? No? I want to do when? When do I get to rip on Halsey? Well? That was supposed to be at the end of the Grammar Police. Are we done grammar police? No, we're long done with that. That was that went on too long? Okay, I want you to play a hook from Halsey. Now I understand, I understand poetic license, but that doesn't mean it's not driving me crazy. You have the song hook? Yeah, it might the hook that they loaded though, might not be the example you're looking for. I might have to just track through the song. Well, you can sing it. Okay, here it comes, uh, here it is. Let's play this. Yeah, this is the two part complaint number one. As I pointed out on the air, I'm still mad at Beyonce for saying I can care less what you think, because right, there's another part in that song that's going to drive you crazy too. She also says what's worst instead of saying what's worse? It's the worst? Yes, yeah, it's the worst. You're right, I could care less. That's horrible. That's why we're friends. She also makes up words, Yes, she makes up well. She says up in the club, but it sounds like how many? How many? How many gloop? We have? That we have that we figured out she's saying up in the club, But I'm convinced he's saying how many gloop? Yeah, listen to her on the song Drunken Love with jay Z. It doesn't make any sense. Here we go here you have anl oh Man. Somebody spelled it wrong in this putting gloop. I tried gloop the traditional way. I tried how many? H M? I just putting gloo gloop? Hold on, there it is listen to this stop I'm gonna gloom. She know, I used to think it was grinding off of that gluten. How many gloop stop grinding off of that gluten? Yeah, either one. But I haven't forgiven Beyonce. She's Queen Bee, don't get me wrong. But now I got to rolling around in dough. Now I got a problem. Now I gotta I got bet foot Halsey. I understand poetic license, but him and I right, should be he and I right, or in the end it's it's him and me. You could say that, you can say him and it's him and me. So I said that on the air. Elvis was like, why is this song bothering you? I said, well, because it should either be in the well, in the beginning of a sentence, it would be he and I went to the mall. At the end of a sentence, it would be at the end it's just him and me. And so somebody texted and said, no, when it's two people, it's it's I and I, and that's always the case. I said, no, it's not the case. If it's after the if it's after the action, it's me. Before the action, it's I. The other way to think of it is if you took the other name out, does the sentence still make sense? In the end, it's me. In the end, it's him and him and me. But you wouldn't say in the end it's I. Right. That's how you know which way when you're like, oh, I always forget which want to do. That's how you know when you say me and her went to the store. Wrong, she and me went to the store. You would not say me went to the store. You said I went to the store. I say, you know it's you and I went to the store. So Halsey is driving me crazy. I love Halsey, but what way she's wearing? But by the way, this happens in music? Non right? No, my issue, My issue isn't like hold on. My issue isn't with Halsey. My issue is with people who tell me I'm wrong. The person actually the person I will picture, everyone knows he's got to be right. No, what's my rule? What's my one rule about correcting people? Rule number one? If you're going to correct someone right, right, that's my rule. So if you're gonna correct me right, like remarkable right. Admittedly I was thinking of my cousin Mark would see I typed it wrong. I spelled it wrong, my fault. That's a very rare moment. By the way, No, not because I didn't know how it was spelled. It was because I was thinking of Mark when I typed it, and I changed it immediately when I saw it, because I looked at like absolutely, no, absolutely, look at the time on the screen shot at the time. Okay, anyway, kudos to him forgetting the screen shot. By the way, I learned this today because someone tweeted at me something and I was like, dude, that's not cool, and I deleted it. If you delete a tweet, but you use the person seeing the tweet uses a non Twitter app, like I used Tweetcaster, the best Twitter app. Those tweets don't disappear, they just come up ver four or four if you try to apply to them. But they stay there. They stay there, and they stay there and they stay there. Yeah. So I so that's possible. He got a screenshot because even I deleted it, he's using a non Twitter app because it was instant that I deleted it. Okay, okay, okay, what's that? What's your issue with Drake? Okay? Okay, Because I you know, we were in the studio the day and by the way, yeah, the Gandhi Gandhi is like sitting here like my heart is skipped. Like I don't think you have broken in people that Drake is God. First of all, I love Drake's music. I always have some Wait a minute, if Drake is than his his song, his own plan. But that's the problem, Brodie has a problem. Now, Gandhi doesn't only work at a top forty station in Boston, you also do U DJ shifts at a hip hop station. Yeah, so you're all about Drake. Here's what I'm gonna say about Drake on Saturday Night Live. He's brilliant. He's half Jewish. That's where gets the comedy from. That's that's just me joking. Don't don't send me letters, um And I like Drake as a person. I think he stands up for a lot of things. He's been given a lot of money to a lot of great causes. I think he's a great guy. My problem with people love Drake. I'm not looking for Drake hate. I'm just telling you my opinion of Drake. Play the and this most of his songs. Keep in mind, I don't know what he's saying half the time, not that I do understand the words like pronunciation wise, most of the time I know what he's saying. I don't know what he's saying. Okay, but this song, go ahead, play the clip, Okay, I'm just what do you want to play from? Play from the part. You can't play a lot of you know what I mean? Yeah? What don't you understand about? I didn't say I've been moving knot trouble with me trying to keep it peaceful. There's a struggle from me. Don't pull up at six. I am a cuddle with me. You know how I like it when you loving on me. I don't want to for them. Gandi's getting into this love. I didn't say in this song, I don't understand the world is right here? Part here was deaf from with me? Have you got you know? Got west Rox Mike go down at g O d wait I go hard on south side g right. I made sure that no side. Yeah, that's it. That's my problem. First of all, he's doing his own but that that's the style. And I don't know the rappers do these things. I know I can look at noises. Okay, what are you doing like I gots happening is helping me? I got something with I don't know. I don't know what they. I don't know these reference. I don't care. You don't have to tell me what's southside g means? I don't care. I'm sure if you're you're Drake fan, I don't care. My issue is not what what he's saying. Even though I don't know what he's saying. My issue is, And this is what I said to you. He sounds like he just got out of the dentist's office and you're filming him. That's what that's my problem. Okay, but that is that Okay, he sounds like he's got cotton mouth. Hip hop goes through different phases in different styles, right, I don't like this one. A lot of times. There's a lot of I like Drake even like but if you look at a lot of trap music and a lot of like megos or whatever, a lot of have you heard twenty one Savage, it's called mumble rap. It's mumbling they he goes, I got one to three account Aunt. Leon Redbon Leon Leon Redbone Leon, Red Bruin was a blues rock singer sang man. He did commercials for detergent Leon Redbone, No red Ball, Sorry, not red Bone by not by red Bone, No, not red Bone, red Ball. Come and get your love from red Bone. You want some red Bone, here's a red Bone Come and get love. No, this is not that Leon red Bone. It's a good song. He Now he's not singing. You know what I'm talking about? I do there. I mean, I see where both of you were talking about. There's definitely been a shift in hip hop, and there's a lot of mumble rap out there. I don't think Drake is a mumble rapper though, but he's Here's the thing though, if I saw the video of him singing this in the studio, his teeth wouldn't be shown, his mouth would not be a He's adjusting. He's he's adjusting. If chamelions just got on the dentist office, He's a chameleon. He's adjusting to what's going on in rap right now. He's acknowledging that's song right there. The way his style, his cadence, the way he's speaking, it's all like he knows what's hot in wrap right now. So his song he said, you know what I'm going to deliver the lyrics like this because mumble rap is big. Okay, now look at those videos of kids getting out of the dentist's office, moms. That's what it sounds like. Dentist rap has take dentist raps and okay, even Race Shrummer's last name, even his name is Mumbo means drum backwards. I know what. Two guys, yeah right, so right so and Swalie sang on and unforgettable and he's very audible and unforgettable from french Montin just saying that part of the Drake song sounded like he just got a dentist office. So you don't really hate Drake. You hate that Drake did. No. I never said he's not liking trends in hip hop, is what he's saying. Because I don't like that theme. But that song we play on our morning show, and that part, that mumbly part it does, that's kind of low energy for me. I need something the morning. It gets mesagree. I love that song. The video will make you cry. What's the video about? So in the video he actually got like a million dollar budget to shoot the video, and instead of using it to shoot the video, he took it went down to Miami and gifted it to people in all kinds of different ways. So he paid for people's college tuition. He paid Yeah, like talked about random Maid on the Big Show. Yep, he gave with lots and lots of money. I told you all like Drake, I think he's a great guy. He's a philanthropy. I just that part of the mumbly pot like how many gloops and listen, we're gonna get tweets and people saying love it and hate it in the game. That's right, fifty cent was shot in the mouth. I understand what he mumbles over, which is his stick? Oh didn't we remember that rapper? Mr Mumbler? Oh? Do you ever hear this song? H? We have? This was one of the first things I ever wrote for this morning show. Really, So here's what the derivation of what he's about to play is. You're gonna recognize the song I parodied and understand why I overdid what I what that original song sounded like to me? Okay, all the people are I do not know about the Let us come say that people here? What a what am on a tune in one? Sweating along the fine Deadvine? But when the goblins out in bubble Design, Hope, get some woman in the corner airline seven ms sign him. Then the Wine and nine Men goes with happening in the Wine and Hope. They hit on after this to let their rhymes. The mom I took from wondering what I I think. I didn't know the one, but with Sean Paul right, I just changed all the words to mumbles and various words. You know, Brodie, you can't have it all. And at the end of the day, this is where hip hop is going. Maybe you'll come out of this phase and when it does, we'll all be happy. That's all what I'm saying. It's coming out of the phase. It's already happening. I know it feel I think Childish Game, Beano, Kid Cutty, like those guys, they're bringing a different way. Kid Cutty from from Cleveland, Ohio. You're partly from partly from Columbus, Columbus, Okay, claim him. So what schools did you go to? The Ohio State University? Sir? She's a Bucky. Did I tell me? Did I tell my book I stored on this podcast? I tell the story? Tell me the book I story. So when I was back in the day when I was a manager area training for Starbucks. Yes, I've done everything. Um. I had a staff of ledge people working for me at the time. And uh, this one girl was what a sweetheart, great girl, but she didn't know a lot about the subject matter, I guess. And so she said, Oh, my boyfriend's coming on from college. I haven't seen him since he went away to school in mid August. And this was I guess for Thanksgiving he was coming home whatever. As Oh, why does he go to school? She goes, Ohio State University. Now I'm a big sports fan. I said, Oh, he's a Buckeye and she turned to me and she went, no, he's really cute, meaning he was ugly. You know what a buck. I was at a bet store probably I don't know. Um. By the way, I meant to tell you this, and I'm sorry if I put this on the Brooklyn Boys Twitter as well. I can't stand when cameras are on you and you don't know what was Who is that you? So it's a very important text, very very important to get away from this story. So I was. I was in the New York Mets. Every year they conducted national Anthem Search right. I'll just from the beginning. They are awesome. I love love the New York Mets, big fan. I filled in for you one year because the show was on vacation. I didn't go anywhere I want one, and you went away to rub So I did the and the year I did the search. Um Matazo Materazzi, the kid from Stranger Things, Yeah he was. He was one of the singers of the singers. Yeah. So I show up there and there's news cameras, the media is they're covering this because I'm a judge on a panel and people are coming up doing the nationally, you know, trying to audition for the national anthem, to sing it a game. So here we are listening intently to try and you know it's it's it's our national anthem, it's our song. We we don't want to we want to make sure we pick the right person for the job. Right. Well, there's a lot of footage that you can use on the five, six, and eleven o'clock news right of this METS audition. As a judge, I'm sitting there and maybe for three to five seconds up the two hours you pick that I was watching the auditions. Maybe maybe I yawned and my eyes closed for a second because I'd been up by that point. It was a noon. I had been up since the Morning showed four am, and we did all the whole show, went over there to to to City Field. And what does Channel two here in New York CBS they get after filming all this b roll? They sat there with the cameras on me all this time? What do they show on the five o'clock news the three seconds that I fucking yawned? They're like, like, many many hopefuls were out today at City Field to sing for the national anthem for the New York Man. Apparently some of them more very exciting. Well, that's exactly. They show a kid singing, and as has shown a montage of people singing, they cut to a shot of me yawning and my eyes closing, and I'm like, why are they showing this on TV? This is a misrepresentation of what went on here for the past two hours? What the hell? Why do I have to be be gonna fake news? Which reminds me of politics? Of course, uh state of the Union? When whatever president is speaking and and the House chamber is full of people, right everybody's watching. Uh, if you fall asleep or yawned for a second, if your head nods down, but that is not representative of what the entire eventage. I get it because this house representatives nice. Yeah you didn't plan that, but you know it's true. Do you think that's the best? What kind of have you ever been caught in a moment like that? I've been caught in so many horrible moments, but I think I actually all of them. The moment you can't get out of you too, thank you too? Yeah? Yeah, I just think that the moment that I've been caught in, I can't say, oh, that was not representative of what happened, because it was always representative of what happened. And I think it's funny that you think you only on for two seconds, because maybe it was more than that you think. So. I think they had to choose, which they usually people don't only just be on once right closed. It was terrible, and they they got the under they got the ale yes scary. As a rule, when you take his picture, you have to climb up on a ladder to make sure your camera's high enough to shoot down at him, so he looks as as lovely as possible. He's a smart man. Smart man. By the way, did you think you'd wake up today and say thank you Gandhi? Never thought I would, But it's true, Gandhi. If you think about this, Why the funk was the cameraman on the floor. He was on the floor in the corner of the room, facing up at the judge's table. Were you wearing a skirt, a dude? When you yawned? When you yawned? What was going on in the cameraman's head? Oh? Yes, I got the money shot terrible on that staff. Always say the night the person you have to be nice at too is the camera guy because he's doing so. Have you spent someone over? Did you? Did you? Did you not? Like maybe his niece who was singing? I think I think the issue. I think he was just going from an artistic angle he was. You know how they get into their shots. This is a shot from this side, and that he got a yawn tistic angle he got. It was terrible. It looked like did he get your did he get your u vila? Did he zoom in on it? He got okay? It seriously looked like something out of a zoo. Okay, here's what I want. Here's what I want. Um, it's probably on the CBS two website. It's probably find Bowl. Okay, if you are good with video, I would like you to get us take a screenk caption right and make a meme out of it, right, whatever you want and tweeted at us at David Underscore, Brody at Scary Jones and that Brooken Boys wt. Also, I also, if you're a big fan on YouTube of bad lip sync theater, I would like you to take that clip and put a sound effect or a word or something around that yawn. Please, you're not boomerang it. Whatever you do, I don't need a boomerang, you know, like an elephant noise, like something from the Elephant Man movie something like that. Be creative. Okay, win a prize. By the way, I hear we're gonna be getting prizes pretty soon. We were close, by the way, we were very close to having an endorsement deal with a shirt company where you don't talk this, we can't talk about that. Well, you just you don't tuck it in. That's it's one of the few companies that right, and there are almost almost we're getting that so close to a sponsor. Yeah, yes, Jacob, I know I'm still waiting. Okay, I want to talk about the delayed green. Talk the delayed green for a minute. Go for it. Okay. If you live in a state where it's legal to turn right on red, which is most states, New York City can't do it. So when you grew up in New York City, you don't. You don't light. You stay there unless there's a sign, or if there's a green turn signal whatever. But every other point, like I live in New Jersey, which is, you know, right near Manhattan. So I grew up in New York where you couldn't turn reds. When I moved to New Jersey, it's like, right turn on red. Oh, this is awesome, right, except for the really busy intersections where it's too dangerous even to do that. But most of the time, right turn on red. For some reason, people who drive cars weren't taught. You know what the delayed green sign is. Okay, So in the middle of the intersection, on the light, on the back side of the light for the people diagonally to the left of you, So the people in the right lane coming at you, they're right, you're left. Okay that the people over there facing me, it'll say delayed green for me, meaning even though they start going my side, so they're going south, I'm going north. They can go south, but I've got to wait. It's delayed green. And that sign is so that I don't try to cross while they're making left turns in front of me, like chill. Just because they're going doesn't mean you get to go. Here's what the sign doesn't mean. It doesn't mean when you're in the right lane, you can't make a damn right turn on red. So I get stuck behind mon pat idiot all the time in their Toyota Camry who sit there and a late green. So I go in my big gass dogs, charge with the really loud horn, move out of the light and they look at me like what it's the late green. Yeah, it's the late green. You can't go straight, But what you can do it's make a damn right turn. It doesn't say no right, No one's turning from over there into your right lane. They're turning into the left lane. I didn't move to Jersey in a high tax town, by the way, so I could sit there in the red light behind your ass next time, I'll go in the middle lane and I'll make a right turn in front of your camera. Ass I should have known. Don't get behind the camera, and don't tweat me and tell me. You drive a camera and you blow through lights, we'll shett we'll ship mush. You're in college and your parents gave you their hand me down a time. But if you're driving a camera or an avalon, you're sitting there at the light, get out of Jersey, go to New York and sitting all the red lights you want, and don't get me started on people will slow down a yell of lights. I'm going through the light. Get out of the way. You see my dogs trag headlights coming in your in your view mirror. Don't you dare slow down to the yellow light? You go go, go, go go. If you have time to stop, a yell light and stop and come to a stop and it's still yellow, get out of the way. Mil talk. I just wanted to do that because we needed to break the tension. Sadly is scared. She standing here. Listen. She didn't expect that she went up. You need to listen. Episode about twenty Uber ran Well the FedEx ups that's short. Does that make your hair stand on edge? No, because I have to I see there's some severe road rage. But I also have solutions to this problem. Okay, but no one wants to listen. I people should be allowed to throw eggs at other people's cars because it's not something that's gonna really totally destroyed. I think you should be able to throw the window. I get the window to let them know they've done something bad, because if your car got hit with an egg, you probably turn right at the next time. But that's good because then egg is not a rock, so you're not going to damage the car. They just have to wipe it off. Right. It's just inconvenient. You feel stupid, and I can stand for like scramble like get out of the way, scramble out of the way, or over easy like hey, get over, pull over. You should have We should all should have a carton of eggs at all times, but not when it's cold out because they freeze instead of a horn. Yeah, but the horn is just they can they can ignore the horn. It's kind of like an egg. Sometimes the horns more of like a warning. But the eggs should come when there's been an egregious violation. Now I did something like that, and I talked about in the Big Show many years ago. So funny you should mention throwing food at cars. So I was driving from when I used to work at Red Robin. I've done everything, you're like, where else is? He worked as a manager a Red Robin in Brooklyn and we were out of Hamburgers. The delivery didn't come and we knew we were gonna be out of Hamburgers. Yes, right, So I went to another location, another one, and I picked up a couple of cases of uncooked Hamburger meat that on the front seat of my car. And at that time, I had a big s Buick Park Avenue, tinted windows, huge car eight something in it was big car, black windows, couldn't see it. And I'm on the the ramp to the Brooklyn Bridge, the big, big swooping turn right and his emerge and this guy wouldn't let me in. He was cutting me off, chiseling in. You know, I hate chiselers, those last minute chiselers. And he's and he's I'm giving him the horn like polite, like hey, I was here, You're not getting in front of me. And he's like, fuck you, I'm getting front of you, right, and he's give me a finger and everything. So his window was open. This was in the summer. His window was wide open. So I rolled down my window and I grabbed a handful of raw hamburger meat next to me, and he's like ra and he turned away from me as the as he was driving, and I took the raw hamburger meat, a big fist of it, and I threw it in his window and I drove away and he get s added with hamburger meat. Good. I think that's okay. The problem is if the person had an aluminium bat in their backseat. The this is why this is a bad idea. I thought that I thought the egg thing would be a good idea, but this is not a good idea. The second you throw an egg at my car, I do what what if? I who knows what I have? Okay, keep in mind this was a more simpler time, yeah, before before I had a I don't think we're simple times. And okay, I want to just when I when I said tell you the story, it was when there was no violence back in the nineties. I wasn't thinking straight, but I felt really good about it, and I said to myself, someday IM gonna have a podcast. This will make a great story. It was a simple time. So I hamburger the guy. I think that's fine, thank you. And I think if it was a law on the books of vehicle it was like raw rage. It wasn't road rage. It was all right. Should we get into some email. I think, now it's an email because then I hold on, I want to talk about after that. I want to talk about some iTunes review that hissed me off, some stats on the podcast, and I have to talk about how MSNBC fucked me. Wow. Yeah, we're gonna be here a minute. We are mail talk. That sounds like it's mail time. Welcome. You've got mail, all right? You can always email us at the Brooken Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. Um, I'm always reading your email, and Brody is too. Sometimes I listened to your emails when Scary reads them. Brody likes the Twitter. He likes the Twitter for They'll have to say. And again, when I first heard the term slide into d m s, I thought slides, Well, people slide into my d ms. But it's all for like, uh, free dessert stories. You might have to open a Patreon page very soon. Yeah, that's an idea, I'm telling you. All right, well we'll talk. Don't give that all your dessert for free. No, no, I understand, all right? Uh. Joe Dingo rightes love his name joe X Dingo fan names. Joe Is that is like his real name or is that like his neighborhood name Joey ding Joe j O e x Dingo x is silent. I guess he has sound Joe Dingo. That's what I'm gonna say. That's like the guy who's like, you know, he sells, he takes it, takes bets on the football games. Joey Dingo Dingo because he ate my dog once my dog d my dog. Well the Dingo eat your doggie. That was a movie reference. But anyway, Ah, he has a name for our army because we we are still looking for we are forever looking for a fan army name to the Brooklyn Boys podcast. Anything come to mind, Gandhi to think about this. Okay, So here's a couple of things. Yeah, So so our twitter is Brooklyn Boys w TF because we say whatever the fox on our mind, and so we're like the w TFS might be an idea Brooklyn Boys, pizzas and our logo. He's like the slices, right, so people are suggesting that the home slices. Somebody suggested that I don't like that. I don't like that. He'd be quiet. Yeah, he's shooting you down there. Somebody somebody said, um, what was it? The Brownies? It was something like umbron No, no, what is it? When you got on the shore and they call people who are Benny's Benny's, they said you should be Benny's. It was like Brooklyn something whatever it was. And now he can't be Benny's because that's a Jersey show thing. Well, this person wants us to do rant man army, rant, rant man army. That doesn't really make any sense. Okay, I get it that I rant, but that's not that's just my army. Try harder next time. I like it, though. Corey Werner wrote to us, Uh, the subject line is scary and Brodie don't like him. But then he writes, dear Bronian, scary love him. I see he knows you read the email, so he's smart. Cory. I like that you put scary and Brodie in the subject line. Just scary would open it and then BAYM brody and scary when he opens it. Been a listener to The Big Show for seventy eight eight years on my commute from Long Island to St. John's University I now live in Shore Charlotte, North Carolina. Listened to the show on the podcast a day later than the show is on The Big Show we're talking about, So I wonder I'll tell you what I think he does. I think you both should make it a twice a year event and alternate paying for steak dinners. Lost me there? He continues to leave us with a grammar police picture that he says hours Monday to Sunday, eleven am to close. How do they spell hours? No? No, no no, eleven am to close? When when you close? And then yeah, he continues to write about I don't know what is its Bavarian. I don't even know it was supposed to be Bavarian cream filling on this on this pie. It's Barbarian cream filling. How nice? I don't know. I don't get it deep. I guess it's type. By the way, Jimmy Fallon does a segment called bad Signs he did it last night. Is he gonna give us some royalties for that? He should? Yeah, I have a bad sign I'm saving for him, and I'm gonna send into him on his there's an account you send it to, but he had one last night. It said, uh, free coffee one dollar. There are times when I'm driving all day and I go to stop somebody for an infraction. The problem is I'm usually laughing as I'm getting out of the car. Both of your personalities are perfect together. They helped me get through my long days. Free dessert is the best. It goes to show me I need to personally call or right to the place that fucked my dinner, breakfast or lunch. Keep the good work and uh, I feel free to laugh at my grammar as well. No, you're doing fine, buddy. PS for the record, Brody, I think your name needs to come first. Oh come on, man, that scary. You know what for that? You owe me a you me a card? So I had to bring my laptop in to read the comments. Now, we've asked you before, and a lot of people have been stepping up to the plate to leave positive comments on our podcast on iTunes. Yeah, I spent specifically the iTunes feed because we want to be breaking the two top two hundreds something. That's right. We are not in the by the way, we are nowhere to be found. Our friends at the Acquired Taste podcast just cracked the top two hundred and the Bowery Boys fucked them because they're still coming up in the search for Brooklyn Boys. However, remember I told you last week we talked about Alexa hates our podcast. I have to find the guy who figured out a way and we play the audio. Next week, we're gonna play the audio. Hello this guy, we're eating for twelve seconds. Top three stars at the time. Hold on, what's coming to say to a man who took the time to go on the iTunes and give us two stars? So I gonna catch up. There's people with me right now. I'm gonna do that as generals Sefania. So this is for you, Abe Corbie, you take I'm looking five stars, five stars, five stars. Oh, Lisa mcgutt five stars, love you Lisa. He's got gutting her name, and she doesn't mind that we eat on the podcast thirty one episodes thirty two. If you count zero once we eight what but that makes his dummies? Well this is what people do with uber ratings now and and this is why I don't like Abe seventy seven. Ye by the way, I wish that was his like Twitter, so giving on his Twitter like, but it's not. I looked on Twitter. He's not age seventy I was on all I was. I was so mad. I wouldn't look And I'm like, is he Abe seventy seven on Instagram? No? All right, Well, but you know what a lot of people put the r Q in their in their handles, So I guess Abe is even listening at this point. Don't he gave us two stars? You want to insult me, You want to say you don't enjoy the podcast, Homie. I graduate high school sixteen from If there's one thing I'm not as dumb, loud and obnoxious, and I may talk when I eat. When I am not dumb, I do, I will say that that's what it be. D U m B. You're a dumbelt a lot of two words, dumbbell, you know what? Too bad? He didn't He didn't write enough because you know there was a grammatic lura waiting to happen with him with Abe stop eating during the podcast, Dummies, Gandhi. If there's one takeaway here, it's don't leave us a two star review that you guys need to get those three stars back, no matter what it takes. He needs to change that or delete it. You know. Don't you feel though that things like Yelp and Uber they're they're super biased. People take away points for the stupidest reasons. That's why I really don't trust those those reviews. I hate, you know, like especially Yelp. Yelp is the perfect example, because I know that a place is critically acclaimed. I know it's got amazing reviews, critics choice, and I'm a foodie. I love great restaurants. But when I see those restaurants pop up on Yelp, their scores are considerably lower. Let make wait a second, why is it sol And and you click into the reviews, and it's because a bunch of schmucks went in there and took away and gave them one star because the one time they had a bad experience where the food was late, or they said or they got the order wrong or something or or for whatever silly reason. The thing is, you're they're not being judged on the quality of the food. They're not being judged on the overall experience. That's what this dude ave is doing to us right here. He took away three stars. Maybe give us four stars. You know, maybe that would be I would accept four stars or maybe five stars and say, you know what, love you guys, but maybe I don't love when you the one time you in thirty two episodes, see I'm Brodie, I'm trying to I'm trying to roughly, and I'm gonna say we average an hour podcast thirty two hours. It's almost a work week. It's like like, for instance, if you add an event and you yawned once and they highlighted your yawn. Wait, when did that happen? Some idiot friend of mine yawned on television and they used that footage. You know what, this motherfucker, this guy right here, Abe seventy seven, he took the yawn. He took the one second I had pizza. By the way, the pizza segment about Stacy's Pizza. I'm still not going to Stacy's Pizza. That's not a name of a pizza place. I'm going to Sala's Pizza. I'm telling you, Brodie, this guy's you know, I bet you Abe, I bet you Terry now Abe Abe probably works at Stacy's Pizza. And he's mad that I said I wouldn't go to Stacy's Pizza because that's not Italian sound. Is there a way to retort this guy? Can we reach out? The iTunes would be a war zone like every other social media was. So you get to leave his review and nothing like I can't even you know I did it, says is this review helpful? I said, no, it is not. No, it is not helpful, so he gets to take a ship and walk out of the room. So here's what I want you to do. Be dumped on our floor if you leave us a five star review. I want you to go to February, go to ABE seventy seven and say help no me not helpful, not helpful, not helpful. Thumb it down, both it down, thumb thumb it down. I want to do it right now. I want you to thumb him down so hard he's becomes an I want to find him on social media and cyber bollium. Yeah, I just it just bothers me so much, you know, just trying. Let's let's I'm gonna hold on. Let's focus on the people that do like the podcast. Let's talk about free dessert. I talk abou free dessert for a second free dessert. In case you don't know GANDH, because I know you have not listened to all the episodes yet, but I know you listen in order. Free dessert is when the customer service goes above and beyond. They take care of the problem, and then they go above me one little free dessert. They burned your steak, take a steak off the bill, you little free dessert. So Ashley had a slipped into my d m s. He said, just had a problem with Uber and went free dessert all over their ass. I said, that's fantastic. How much did you get? Full refund on the ride twenty five and Uber credit, free dessert and an extra five dollar credit to send to a friend as an extra topping on my free dessert, Ashley, my little padawan, Good for you, your little who Star Wars reference, my little product, my little protege. Wait a second, you said like you're a Star Wars fan. I'm not Wars. Yeah. I know what the paddle one was, and I knew he was going to get upset about it. I'm not a big Star Wars guy. I'm not out there. Let me find another one little free dessert here? Hold on, are your free dessert? Free dessert. It took me forty five minutes with a customer service, but they refunded the order and I got a twenty gift card. Thank you so much. Free dessert. Shannon Massey, Uh, underscore free dessert. Um, let's see. Oh, let me get T White love T White five six eight nine tweets us all the time. He says, Uh, there's a fruit delivery service. Some of my berries weren't fresh. I got a gift card for double what I spent boom free. We love that, all right. We got one more from one more from from one more from Tanya. Uh, this is my favorite now. Tanya is also a big fan of my Walking Dead podcast Walkers and Talkers on my hot radio, iTunes and Google Play. Uh. Tanya, who's at shooes for t uh. She says, after one of my Brody rants, she says, this is me. Colon even is not even And her friend says, yes, it is, that's why it's called even, and she says, no, not according to Brody, and her friend says, who's Brody and she says the free dessert expert. And the friend says, you're crazy free dessert and she says, yes, free dessert. Brody knows rant therapy. So we love Tanya. He a n J, not tan Ha, not Tanja. She's a she's a huge fan. She is now I unused jokes. Yeah, that's where we're going. I only got by the way. Yes, I I want to point out that Elvis was in California on Monday. Yes, so that's one less day. I don't write a lot of jokes for him that I write down because it's in Skype. That's true. So these are punch lines from the show that we're not used. Um, we have a big show. We have Broody writing some jokes we for everybody, and then all of a sudden, Elvis decides not to use a joke. Oh, it doesn't go in the garbage. It goes into separate pile that we like to call unused punch lines. Here as we will give you what the original setup was and the original joke that Elvis did not really we only have two. This week he was talking about I have one. It's I'll do one, you do one, I'll do them. Okay. Elvis was talking about going to Greece and this this one island in Greece. He was on, Uh, they don't allow you to poop in the toilet. They don't the filtration system whatever it is. You can't poop in the toilet. You have to poop into little baggies, he said. But there's parts of grease you can poop, and just not in in that little town he was in. And I said, I'm pretty sure you can poop at the acropolis. He didn't get to it. Then we did a story from BuzzFeed about family cloths, family cloths, you know the story, Dannie So family cloths to save money on toilet paper and recycling. All families are now keeping stacks of cloths cloth towels in the bathroom. They wiped their butt with the cloth, throw it into a hamper, and they washed the family cloths and bring them back. They recycle them. So you could be wiping your butt with the you know, your sister's cloth from the day before, and some people in the room like, oh, well, where do you wash them? It's disgusting. I said, you put them in your worldpoop the worldpoop, the worldpoop machine. Now, they didn't get to that. We were talking the other day about those are my two unused jokes. By the way, I said I would do one, you do one, but I was on a roll. I was two jokes, roll of toilet paper exactly. Thank you. If you have your one joke hard to follow that, I'm sorry, it's gonna be hard to follow it. So there was the kids that were caught smoking pot at a bar mitzvo oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, apparently yeah, it was that. Yeah, let's just say that there right there. So when they go on the dance floor, they will they will got into a circle and they did ganja naguila. That's a joke. Yeah, you gotta be part of the tribe. Okay. So now as as a joke, as a professional joke writer, what I would have done is I would have said, instead of having a gila, they danced gila. You have to establish the but do you you don't have and you're Indian, so you knew that he could be Jewish and Indian. We call that a Hindu hing you? What about Jindian? Thank you? Okay, But see, we would never go on an the fest. She was like, food too much. You don't need to just get into a circle and do a dance. All you gotta do is say a circle dance to establish that you're gonna do a hava aguila joke. I still would have said, instead of hamagila, the professional you're speaking, Yeah, okay, you're here longer, so what does that say about you? Okay? So, speaking of professionals, I am not a television broadcaster at the moment. I am not an author. I've mentioned this a few times already. Where this has happened to me. You guys all know when I get confused for a Christian conservative TV broadcaster David Brody. Now I put up a picture over the weekend of David Brody on MSNBC, and I remind everyone, even though you listen in order, when he is on Fox News or traditionally conservative media, he's a conservative pundit and author and evangel and evangelical uh broadcaster on the Christian broadcasting network. He's he's very popular and when he goes on non conservative news networks, he gets himself into a lot of ship. He said. He says things that people don't agree with that are watching that network. And sometimes people hate tweet me because they go, oh, David Brodie makes me so mad, and they google and me being the only um uh verified David Brody and I have a cartoon logo, they assumed that I'm him, and they hate tweet me. Well, I don't think, don't matter some nail a little little again, avatar, No I think that problem? No, I know. Okay, all right, So a couple of weeks ago, when I talked about this President Trump, because that David Brody wrote a book called The Faith of Donald Trump. And so President Trump tweeted out at not at but he wrote, hey, David Brody and and the other guy, great book. Loved the book. So people who don't like the president hate tweeted me. Okay, that's fine. Well, nobody at this until this weekend has mistakenly tweeted me at me. Who's a celebrity. Well, I happened to like this woman. She's a host on MSNBC named Joy Reid, and she hosts a show called am Joy and she fills in a lot. She's really making a name for herself. She has I think one point three million followers. So did she curse you out, David Brody? Nope, here's what she did. The idea that white evangelicals would turn on Trump if he committed adulter three today is not backed up by a shred of data or anecdotal evidence. Because that's what David Brody said on MSNBC. At David underscored, Brody is making things up. And that's when it got bad. And so, um, I got ripped for almost an hour. This guy tweeted at me, Um, you are a fake Christian. Only God can give grace, not racist evangelicals like you see, that's what I would have done. I would have just unplugged Twitter. Here's suspended my account and not doing it. But you were probably sitting there throwing tiny daggers. Every texted you like this one. And I'm not mad at these people. I know you're not. Hold on, hold on, correct every one of them. Well, here's the problem if they tweet that in response to hard tweet. First of all, anyone who sees her tweet one point three million followers is gonna blow up my Twitter that if a tweet comes in that I want to read, I'm not gonna see it. So before you get out of hand, I start tweeting back a copy and page. I'm not that David Brodie, Please delete your tweet, because what happens is anyone who see their tweets is going to see them tweet their friends and their followers. And they started tweeting. But I'm getting poop emoji's again on the devil, on the most awful thing, but he's hold on, shush, I'm telling the story. Sho up. Okay, here's where it went off the rails. So two things happen. Our wise asked w t F listeners. We will resist, who's a follower of ours, wrote these are giving me way too much pleasure. Ha ha um, where's Denia, Oh, Denia Martinez. She started attacking people for attacking me, so props to glam Bell nine who started saying, that's not him, leave him alone. But a couple of people started saying, oh, I've waited for this so long, you talk about it, and now I'm watching it happen. So as I'm getting ripped by people. And by the way, a lot of what they were saying, I was, I was a grand but it's not me. I'm not not dying. So I tweet at joy Read again I'm a fan, and I said, hey, Joy read wrong, David Brody, stop it. Delete your tweet. After like a half hour, she writes back, Um, deleted it. My apologies, I'm so sorry. My fault entirely. Then she starts tweeting at people telling them, no, no, it's not him, it's not him. I made a mistake too late. Yeah sorry. So I tweet joy Read and I say, hey, you've ruined my day and blown up my Twitter. I still love you, but you owe me a follow. At least you could do free dessert for ruining because she follow you even is not even the leading your tweet is not even you ruined my day. So she says done. Then she tweets out now following at David Underscore Brody, who is not the other David Brodie, just your timelines accordingly. Good. So I got followers from her. That's good. So then I said, I'm going for more free dessert. I said, you know what, Joy read, host of am Joy on MSNBC. You should have me on your show because I could talk about how I'm the opposite of the guy you keep having on and I get hate tweets directed at him, but they're at me and how you messed me up today, a pece on you. So so she says, you know, there are other people that have that have been tweeted at, Like there's a guy named Charles Johnson. There's a liberal Charles Johnson and excerptant Charles Johnson, and the liberal Charles Johnson keeps getting ripped for the other guy. And there is that Donald Trump who gets ripped. Okay, so she's just I'm gonna, you know what, we should do a show on on you guys. Whatever she does, give me your email and a d M and I'll have my bookers reach out. I slid into Joy Reads d M s and I am waiting to hear back from the book. I will keep you posted so you may see me on MSNBC granting about Hey, she asked me on MSNBC, but then deleted it and then had people follow me and they gave me free dessert. I got free dessert from joy Read good. Thank you. You know what, though, I don't know if I would have ever done any of this, I would have just unplugged Twitter. You really go, you go for the gush to tell you because everybody listening to this podcast knows. I right back to every single tweet. And if somebody if glam Bell nine tweets me and I didn't see it because I'm getting David brodyed but the other David Brody, right, I, then you're you're ruining my reputation as a as a tweet returner. I just I care about the pieces difference between Brody and I. Is this the difference between eye no grammar, police don't grab police, police grammar, police play the jingle gram of police and never police, right, this is the different I don't know. I'm so passive in this ship. I'm really I'm so even kill I'm such just. I just like to I like to create peace. I like to ignore people. I got Popamoji's. They called me a pile of pop em I get it. But man, old man, you you must have They called me a fake Christian? Can I get a medic I'm Jewish. I want to medical report on this guy, because I swear to God, your hearts can explode? How how bad is your I need to know you have hypertension? No, you gotta dying early death. No, but I want to say mega one m E g O h M one. I'm following you because you're not the other David Brodie. Every boom, every bone in your body, every morsel, every cell in your being, in your aura is dedicated to fighting and debating and arguing. And I am not seriously, how fast is your heartbeat that much more when you're in the room. I mean, people started hate tweeting Gandhi and you got their tweets. Yeah, what would you do? What would be your sponsor? You false prophet? Yes, I get yelled at about things that my great grandfather did all the time. Let just ignore it. I don't care because you're not on social media. Did they hear your name on your morning? You want to give out your social media? Sure if if as long as people don't hate tweet me. It's at Baby Has Sauce. So a lot of people in India there's this movement now kind of against Gandhi um and a lot of them come for me like I had anything to do with it, and they're like, you should be a shame of your heritage at end of yourself. Gandhi? Fuck you really? Yeah? So she actually leave him there at Baby Hot Sauce. The now, if you had to guess the grand the great granddaughter of Gandhi, if you had to guess if your great grandfather we're here today, yes, and somebody went up to him and said, fuck you Gandhi, what would his response be if you had to guess from what you've heard, what you've learned of your your ancestry, he would probably be like, oh, bless you, I hope that you find some peace. You curse a man like that? Exactly they do. And that's what I've been thinking. Have you have you twenty three to mead? No, I haven't. But there's no DNA of Gandhi. It's not like they could check. Sure, of course there is this DNA of your great grandfather. Yeah, I'm sure there has to be somewhere. Yeah. But but I'm thinking, like you're watching this entire time, Yes, and you see his approach to thinks life, and you see my approach to life. Don't you think that it's the path of less resistance is sometimes the best, the best path to take. Don't you think that? To create peace and positive energy? Of course, but every now and then you have to meet people on their levels that high roads. Okay, I'm not trying. You are talking to a girl who wants to throw eggs and cars. Wait a second, that's very uge. Where the hell did you get that from? I just thought of that. Hey, do as I do, or do as I say right now as I did. Wow is the way to go? Bernie and I are just crazy, But listen that you may be the way to go. But nobody's tuning it into a podcast to hear you'll be a pacifist. Sorry, I love I love one scary turns the other cheek hashtag on the cheek. Nobody does that. Nobody tweet tweet us right now if you tune into this podcast instead of my rants. Neither did you turn into here scary go? Yeah? I did bother me, But no, you have to you have to take You have to choose your battles wisely, you know. I mean, what did your great grandfather preach? What was his He was all about passive resistance? Yeah? End piece? Yes? Yes, okay? How would you passively resist though against a Twitter attack? How do you do that? I didn't hunch anybody. You would just ignore it. No, I didn't say hey, idiot. I tweeted everyone and said I said, hey, please be more careful. I'm not that David Brody. Please, because Twitter expands like a tree branch, like everybody sees everyone's tweets, so like, that's the guy. Get him. I don't want to get dragged. You don't drag me. I'm even if you're a Drake fan, don't Drake drag me. Don't drag me. Like if you're mad about before, you have a nice guy? You know, followed myself. Yeah, give me a favorite. Don't pick your podcast based on the fact that I do or don't like one small part of a song by a guy that I like. I like Drake okay, all right, on a Tuesday, on a Tuesday, on Tuesday, and I know that's not Drake's song. He's just featured on it. Before you tweet. He took that song and he actually made it a hit. Yeah, he did. Gandhi, it's so nice for meeting you. Really, thank you so much for coming up here. Guys. I got stats. I keep I keep teasing stuff, and I didn't get to my hotel rant. I promised my hotel rank and I and I didn't get to the scary handicap. Bald Freak was gonna come in here and talk about growing up in Brooklyn and being picked last for every sport there was. Yeah, I feel like I need to do the hotel rent. We have time. Whatever I won't do, if I won't do the router, the WiFi router, whatever you want to do, Brodie, all right, Brodie is our time. We do whatever the hell you want to get the music ready, bitch, because I got I got something. Get off my chest if your okay. So we were on vacation a couple of weeks ago, right now, I you saw I told you talked about this last episode. I went to two hotels. Okay, the second one, I put up pictures. I tweeted about it on Instagram. Had a great time Mount Dairy Casino. I had a great time. Beautiful Mountairy Lodge right, which Okay, the lodge has been rebuilt and it's a casino. It's beautiful. But a couple of days earlier I went away to a different casino. Right. They booked it online. I got a price. I called up. They matched. The price is. We're gonna give you the room for let's say, if it's take of this conversation. The rooms. I'm there, gambling, free buffets. I'm coming. I get there. The weather was, it was cold, drove a long way whatever, my friend and I want a friend of mine go to the hotel with good check in and uh, the woman behind it is like the big desk. There's nobody online. We got there at an off time, so there's like four people standing there at the registers, all fighting and to see who could help us. Go to the register. The woman at the check in, I can help you give him information. She's okay. That room total will be a hundred and uh twenty two dollars, I think plus tax I said, well, I'm sorry, it must be a mistake. Um I booked him at nine oh. Yes, but that didn't include the twenty three dollar uh service charge. What a searcharge as we mean searcharge for what? Oh? That's to cover the valet parking and uh the casino and the free WiFi. So I said, well, first of all, if it's free WiFi, there's no searcharge. But paying a searcharge forgive me here, that's anoxy moron. It's not free WiFi. I'm paying a searcharge. Nobody told me on the phone when I booked this that I had paid twenty three dollars more for the room, and I booked, Okay, I'm not paying a searcharge for a casino. I assure you I will be putting down my own searcharge the casino. You're gonna take my money, nobody told me. And as far as Valley parking, I just parked my own car, Nobody Valley parked. So you know what, I agree to disagree. I'm not paying searcharge. Nobody told me. Had you told me on the phone, I would have said, you know what, on the phone, I get it to searcharge. I gotta figure it out. Dollars no problem at this point, Henry. Yeah, his fucking name was Henry. You know what's coming? Henry leans over goes, excuse me, they told you that on the phone. I turned to Henry and say, excuse me. Were you on the phone with me? No, sir, that's right, So you don't know what they told me on the phone. So you know what, you can just look at your cash red strover there and you can screen because you weren't on that call. No offense, Henry, Henry, He's like, they told you on the phone call. Were you on the phone call? Well, no, I wasn't. I was not on the phone call. Oh then you wouldn't know what I was told, would you. Well it's proper beside you do in phone like, Oh, yes, I'm sure it is. But nobody told me. Can you have a recording of the phone call? Did you record it for a customer service? Uh? You know whatever? And says no, Oh, because you're gonna play it back. I can show you. Nobody told me. How I know because I know me, I know me. I know if I checked into hotel, I remember searcharge because it would have piste me off on the phone. I don't remember having a conversation on the phone. But at twenty three I'll searcharge. Oh well, that's like you should have seen the look on Henry's face when I said, were you on the phone? He just we'll know he's will search proper. So I said, can I speak to the manager please? No problem, not being very polite about it. And my by the way, my friend Jeff was very much like me when it comes to free dessert. He was totally fine with I turned to Jemmy, say, Jeff, you okay with this. I don't mean to cause a scene. He goes go for it. Man, i' let paying twenty three dollars. Yeah, Jeff, that's why you're my boy. The manage comes over. Canna help you? I said, yeah, so I tell it a story. We'll starts policy for it. Yeah, I want. I get to Oh, I totally get it. It's a policy. I get that you know it's a policy. I get that your friend Henry over here know his policy. Yef, Henry. I didn't forget about you, Henry. I got you in my my peripher vision. He's like, what, Yeah, he doesn't. He doesn't know he's dealing with you at the casino in the middle of the mountains when no one's around. I guess everyone takes it, goes yeah, sear charge, I'm rolling the money, I'm paying it. Okay, So I tell the manager just parties taking his glasses off. By the way, I don't wear glasses. I took I put the glass on to read small fune. So then she says, well, sir, that's our policy. I go totally get it. It's your policy. But here's the thing. Here's the thing that may be your policy, but it's not my policy. You can't tell me I can't park if there's no no parking sign. Okay. You can't tell me shirt and shoes are required if you don't have a sign. I don't know what your policy is. You have to tell me on the phone. Hey, the search charge. I want to let you know. You get you're not surprised, Well surprise, I don't know about search arge. She well, they didn't tell you the phone, you know what, asked Henry. He's already aware they didn't tell me on the phone. She looks over at Henry, and Henry looks like this. He shrugs his shoulder, like, don't get me involved. You know what, Agnes Stacy fun both do you fuck? Henry add him to the list. Fuck you, Henry. Bottom line. She was so frustrated by me because I had an answered everything. She goes, you know what, we're gonna take twenty three dollars off the totally your hotel bill. You're now gonna pay seventy six dollars with the search charge back to ninety nine. All good, check me in. What don't you get free to for that? Hold On knew there was more more. They're not walking away, and she says, sir, I'm terribly sorry for the aggravation. I said, yeah, you know what, I just wasted twenty minutes of non checking time. I could have been at the tables. She says, I'm sorry, sir, you're obviolusly right. He's twenty bucks and gamble on us I turned. I turned that twenty into thirty, so technically I got thirty dollars for your dessert. Fuck you, Henry, done, search, arged my ass. You don't tell me I'm not paying for it. Done And that was without the music in the background. That was without And I would like to know what would Gandhi's great grandfather do has tech? No Searcharge definitely would have kicked up a stink. Yeah, your great grandfather got he was wearing his sheets. He could have laid down like that great great grandfather. Gandhi would have been like, Okay, how much you want to be I'll pay forty six dollar searcharge helping out the economy whatever. He wasn't spending money on food, so we had plenty of money. And by the way, I'm only making fun because Gandhi's here and she's family. Don't get offended for Gandhi. Don't tell me your friend that I made a joke. I'm making a joke out of love with friends. It's a thing between us, all right. All right, it's late in the day. And by the way, this episode doesn't count as an interview episode. Some people like, oh, you know, when you guys do interviews, it's not something I want to at guest in the studio, you're hanging out. Share shout out to Eric code eight oh four where it is uh now ten after three in the afternoon, and this text message just rolled in from the annual four area code.
