Speaker 1: Start uf dot Up, start Up, Brooklyn Boys start Up, Brooklyn Boys start up, daughta they making Noise Data start Up, Episode two, the Brooklyn Boys Podcast. Hello, Yeah, Hi, this is uh. This is a first episode since we saw each other again. I know. We actually had fun at Sam's wedding. We had a good time. Did you reminded me very quickly that the time I saw you before that was that our State dinner meet up September Tember. Yeah. Yeah, and we went to uh, maybe Sam's wedding. I should have Yeah, I did. I meant to. We went to producer Sam's wedding on Black Friday, the friday after Thanksgiving. Yeah, a good time. I gave her a wedding gift, but I gave it to her a Thanksgiving card. That's clever. That's clever, that said have a happy Thanksgiving. And then I parentheses, I wrote weekend and I said killing two birds at one stone typical brody um, And so I put it. I feel like giving a wedding gift in a Thanksgiving card on Thanksgiving weekend is more of a statement that you're making. You're you're pretty much kind of like rubbing it in a little bit almost Alma as if to say, yeah, here's a reminder, I'm coming out on Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate your wedding. Your No, no, not at all. I'll tell you what. When I went to get uh. So I went out to get um a wedding card and on Thursday. Back in the old days, places would be open and then closed like at like two three o'clock you get home for dinner. Well I forgot that. Now every place closes. So when I went out for a wedding card on Thursday, all the targets were closed. Posed all the wedding card the Hallmark Cards store was were closed. So I had to get a card in Walgreens. So my only options were either really bad wedding cards, very religious wedding cards, which I'm not in there not. I was like, oh, you know what, let me just get a fun Thanksgiving card. Plus on Friday they were discounted, so that is such a yeah. So I got because there was Thanksgiving was over pretty much at that point Thursday night, so I got uh. You know, so I got a nice Thanksgiving card and I wrote nice things in it from from me and my wife. You know. I was like, oh, so happy for you and whatever. I wrote something funny for Sam. No, I was happy to go on a Friday night. It was I don't care. You know. I usually splurge for the Papyrus cards. Yeah, you splurge on Bogee. Yeah, But it is a wedding, So if you're gonna give a nice gift, do you might as well give a nice card to go with you. You You don't want to give like a ninety nine cent special one of this passed the why I passed the money on to them, So one of those cards you give them targion one dollars or whatever you got the guy that that that buys the value pack of wedding cards with the same thing. Now, I don't go to that many weddings, although I thought about it. Sometimes the value packs you get like cards for three dollars and then the other cards four. If I'm gonna be honest, I actually buy them for I for my like, you don't have to give a lot of tips out to the building staff and everything. I usually do the value pack for them, and it's like the same exact saying on all of them. I did that for the garage guys back when I had ticked them. Yeah, Um. I Also, I don't like the blank ones because then it's like you want me to be creative here. Look, I hate that, like I hate what doesn't say anything in it, and it's like, hey, put your own put your own, little uh special note in there. I'm I'm not a big personalized note guy. Uh. You know, even when I give my girlfriend a gift for thanks for I'm sorry, for Halloween, for any any holiday, for Christmas, for her anniversary, for her birthday, for her anniversary, I try and find an approach anniversary. Does she have the the anniversary of the day that we first met, from our anniversary anniversary when we first started, the way you made it, the way you made it sound like, yeah, that fucking thinks she wants me remember anniversary of our first date. So when I when I buy those hours, shouldn't you say our anniversary one? It's kind of like you're calling it her anniversary as if they makes a big deal, But you don't the anniversary of our first date? Hour? What's the date? What's the date? October nine? Oh? How does that happen? How did you? How did you guys hook up in October? Um? I don't know. It was after the summer. It was the season, you know, coffing season. Oh well, there's the different seasons of the year, you know, when you're supposed to be single. And we'll cough backwards as fuck. No cuff in this case means you know you you you hunkered down with somebody, you gather, so you hunred. It was after a summer of fun, I guess, but it was actually after my summer. It was after Labor Day and now I'm like, all right, I'm back from the shore. Now what And then after you banged it out with the jersey with the shore girls, You're like, I wanna settle down. I was never that guy, and you know it. Uh no, it was. It was October because it was fall, and it just made sense. My point is mad sense. You're like, it's called outside. I need someone to hug people do that. That's not just that's not just a me thing. So did you go out looking for her? No, it just happened, Like, how tell me the story? Tell everyone stories? Well, hold on, that's not let's we're talking about now. I gotta know. We're talking about putting messages and cards. I said, I'm not hold on, did you know beforehand? Yes, we met her for a while. Yes, we met back in the day on like a O L. Yeah, she was a big fan of the radio station. Yeah, that was instant messenger. But how did you go? How did you go from October eighth to October nineth? How did you go from being friendly? It was no, it was well. Then I was talking to talk to her for like seven eight years and she reached back in touch with me on Facebook. She turned twenty, right, she said remember me? And I said yeah, So she reached back out to me faceuffing season for her on Facebook. Yeah, that's how that happened. But anyway, going back to my point, I don't like, no, no, we did not. I don't like when we have cards that are blank because I'm not a man of many words. So like I like to, you know, put a little you know, Merry Christmas, love you, love you XO xos. I just don't like, I can't think of clever fund sayings or saying something poignant in the moment. I just that's just not me. It's never been me. So I like a good guy. I like a card to say it for me. So, going back to Sam's wedding, I was I searched for the I'm the guy that stands in front of the display searching for the perfect saying that's already printed, like no, next would I say that? Nah, this one's kind of close. All right, you know what, this is the card? So I sit there for a half hour to try and get the appropriate card. I do that. That's why I didn't buy the religious ones. I don't speak that way. Oh yeah, but I speak Thanksgiving. Yeah, okay, fine. We had fun though at the wedding. You know, we we did, we we did, we were We basically were like, uh, getting the old crew back together again. Right, what's the saying? Yeah, well I sat next to you, so that was good. YEA two tables. Elvis was Elvis was to my left, You were to my right? Did Jeff? We had Ronnie both free. Grani was saying, Scottie B was there at that table. Scotty B was at our table. We had a fun table. Was a table Nobody fought over the flowers at the table. No, No, it was all guys and a couple of girls. Uh. I will say there was some, but the girls were guests, Like the girls at our table weren't the friends of Sam they were the plus ones. They were the plus ones. Maybe they felt awkward because I saw I saw the non plus ones women grabbing those flowers at other tables because they were entitled. Yeah, right, that's what I'm saying. Should have you should have gotten it for Robin though. I feel like you should have gone any um wedding etiquette though, if you're not coming to the wedding, please tell the bar bribing room ahead of time, because they were and there were a couple of empty seats. Now at our table, there was some empty seats because that was last minute and whatever, and that there was people who were not well exact, but there were a couple of the tables the empty It was right, there was a specific table, not hours that I'm talking about one where there was some empty seats. And I found out that these people just didn't show up and didn't bother. Tell Sam and William. Now the problem with that, Yeah, the problem with that is they Sam and William are paying for those dinners because once that table I learned this back and when I was in uh the old Palm Store club and Brooklyn being a waiter. Once that table is set and the party is going on and it gets game on, food is ordered and the air people are and yet people are in the room whoever whatever is empty. But the table, there's a table setting for that person that that dinner is being paid for. At that point, no matter what it's accounted for, you can't then discount it. They don't say, well, five people didn't show up, so we're gonna minus five dinners from that. That doesn't work that way. It doesn't work that way. So if you're invited to a wedding and you can't make it, even if it's at the last minute, give them the heads up, that's all. Well, if you call them five minutes before the end of the wedding, you know, or five minutes before, that's when it starts. It's too late at that Someone was caught on on social media drinking at a bar at the time. Yeah, do you know that person? Yes? Oh, I feel like you should tell me what the mis off. I'm not going to talk about it here, but anyway, no texts me so I can react to it whatever. But anyway, Okay, it's it's it's probably it's a bad look, but anyway, it's a bad look. It's a bad look. You got you gotta get in touch, even if it's like I will say something, come up. The place where Sam got married, beautiful place, Oh my god, it's gorgeous. But the server the Ryland in London in New Jersey and South Central Jersey Ish or western south center, western Central Jersey. The waitress I believe her name was Billy. I think he was Billy, Billy Okay. I asked for a substitution. Yeah, yeah, Brody pulled the brody and so that there was one dish that had red pepper, and my dish the steak came with uh, buttered greens or some kind of string beans or something and onions, and I didn't want that. So I asked if they could please substitute the red pepper from the other dish onto my dish. You know what she said, but absolutely wow, and they did it beautifully. Yeah, because that place is known for great service. In fact, uh, I haven't wanted to go there because it was before the pandemic. It was an actual restaurant where you can just show up and eat and make a reservation and and have a good time. You don't have to be part of a wedding. And you know, they were like tops for food for a long time. Yeah, the variety was awesome. It was the They had like a cappuccino cart the whole time. That was a nice touch. Oh yeah, they had all the good stuff. And then at the very end, I don't know if you got to have any, but they had the the Green Goos Jersey City Tacos truck. I did have the Ghost Tacos. So yeah. So they were serving up the tacos on your way out the door. And that was after dessert. That was after you think the party's over. You're walking out with some popcorn. They had a popcorn machine at the very end, like, oh my god, popcorn. Nice touch on your way out the door. And that's a surprise. Wrong, open the door. The green Ghost Taco trucks out there has some tacos. Yeah, I got I got a few to go home. I pulled my car right up to the truck and I got a few to go home. And they made them does just the way I wanted, meat and cheese, nothing else. I love. I love those surprises. And then a lot of people do that at their weddings. Now, nice touch to do that. And and Sammon Williams had did a lot of things I really liked that were a little different. So the during the cocktail hour, they had a keyboard player and h was he a sex player, trumpet player, a sax player, play rusty trump? Yeah, they were playing Black Sabbath, yes, but like right, they were playing Paranoid, which also AUSI recorded. But they rock like like stuff that you would traditional. The wedding party came in to enter Sandman by Metallica, like they still a lot of things and the talking heads yeah, and then William played trumpet with the band while Sam was dancing with her father. He jumped on the trumpet and the two of them and then the two of them, Samon and William did a beautiful rendition of the acapella beginning part of All I Wanted for Christmas as you and they can both sing. I was very impressed. How did he how did he hit those high notes? I was, I don't know, it was very impressed. But I will say Sam being half Jewish meant that the wedding was a quarter Jewish. But for you twenty cents no um souh. Sam's half Jewish, William is not Jewish. But they did they did this the hora we danced in a circle and they did the chairlifting of the bride and groom, and a couple of people were like, oh, Brodie, you should go help lift the chairs. You're Jewish. That's not how it works. It's usually the strong they go to this. You're right the week a family pro to you weakling, you stay in the back. I'm not a relative. I mean, I'm a friend, but I'm not gonna bust through the crowd to carry the chairs. And then the mediate family is supposed to be the ones holding the chair right right, friends like people you trust, I mean you know I'm not gonna lift them up. Besides, my suit was looking too good, so uh, somebody I'm not gonna say. Oh, but it's a couple of you, and I know they work in sales and U uh their Italian. I believe, and I think I think, I think it was hard. Maybe somebody else I apologize it wasn't. She said, Oh, I want to go next up in the chain in the chair. They don't know how that obviously didn't understand. It's not like the bull ride, like gold ride, the mechanical bull. It's really only for the for the bride and groom and the and the parents of the bride and groom. You know, maybe the best man are they like you know, but it's not like who wants to turn So I felt bad, like you're not going up down. Sorry, I took to break it to you. We took some nice pictures. They had that little three and again the cool things they had so uh they had the video the camera that spins around you. We posted on social media. A lot of people like my suit, very complimentary. I have to say, um, and I have a question though. When I used to be when I would make a tie, uh, if I didn't make a tie for a while, I'd have to watch a YouTube video in a mirror image of me. Yeah, so here's my question. You watch YouTube videos every time you have to make a tie? Pretty right now, You always have a nice suit, You always have a nice tie. You always dressed very well. Thanks, Except for one thing. Your tie never reaches your belly button. And it's not because of your belly because I looked at the back of your tie. There was plenty of slack in the back part was a lot of slack. The way to say your tie has to meet your belt? Does it? And you're always from your belt. No, you're not a clown. The tie should meet your belt. Google it now the belt. Yes, an inch above your belt, two inches, two inches above the belt. Yours was six inches above your belt. No, it wasn't that. You're you're exaggerating. I'll put up a pick. I have pictures of us. Let me let me know. If my tie was too short, it's always too short any time. Then if that's the case, then it's just that's on that's on me, because I'm just it's on you. It's it's on you. It's on your it's all the way up on you. The other thing I wanted to say about that, I'm looking at the video right now. Hold on ye. The other thing I want to see it, I'm gonna freeze. The video did a lot of non traditional things, and they left out any ship, which I was so happy they did. They didn't do the the the throwing of the bouquet, nor the garter. They didn't do the bouquet moment. There's just no reason some of this stuff is. They didn't do the bride cuts, the cake and sing along. They didn't didn't do it. Try and shove didn't even get married. That was the weird part. They got married, you know, not by a minister, but by our our old school old producer Jake. Hey, can I tell you something. I know I always maybe a little too much, but I often think about our interns, the Morning show interns. Yeah, and so if you look at the Morning Show interns who were present at the at the wedding, the bride was an intern Carl and Marie, and the wedding party was an intern, the efficient Jake. They were all hired by you. The photographer and videographer at the wedding was Phil psycho Phil former Interne. So I was a plusteral of course, a lot of interns who were invited. These are all people that you hired at one time or not. Yeah, So I felt like I had a stamp on the stamp on on the wedding. You did, I did. So I enjoyed it that much more because I was very proud of all the people that have accomplished that's all. It was nice. It's nice that they all get along and they stay family and they're friendly and all that stuff. So well, a lot has happened since that wedding day, um, including um, I I went through this, uh, realization we've done at the wedding talk. I hate to interrupt. There was one more thing at the way, I will go for it, and I just backchecked for a second. I was transitioning, but keep going. Oh, well, good for you. I support whatever your decision you make. So we we were so scary. A was at my right, and then Robin was too scary. He's right. Robin was wearing a beautiful dress, beautiful dress, sleeveless. Right, it was off the shoulder, so our shoulder as her arms were exposed. And at one point not scary. You took an uber all the way from your home, which is a long rod, so you could drink. Correct and you did drink, Yes, yes you did. Well, you're now scary. You you talk with your hands, your Italian you're big waving your hands when you're exciting, wacky waving, inflatable arm, flailing tube man, the guys outside of car washes and nut car dealerships. Yeah, that's all funny, except well you're holding a glass of wine. And at some point at the end of the night, Scary was telling his story and all excited. My hands with your hands holding a glass of wine in your right hand, which is unusual since you're left handed. You was my girlfriend. My girlfriend was holding the wine and I was talking and you whacked, right, you whacked. I couldn't remember the glass in her and it was on the right and your hand went up and whacked the wine glass and flatted her with wine. Thank god she wasn't wearing white. Yeah, and it happens. Yeah, but I don't think saying baby, you'll get over it was the right thing to do. Yeah, well, you know, you clean up and move on. I mean you do that after sex, right, Uh, from what I remember. Sure, listen, I had a shitty day and I need to tell you about it. What after that? What happened? I'll tell you. Sary God, I don't know where to begin. Well, let's start with this and maybe we'll come back to this part of the story later. I went to go get botox today for the first time Botox. There's a client that's on the table. And they said, and obviously I said, I can't do you haven't signed with them yet. This is not all did I did? I did, they said, But they said, look, they said, and I said, look, I can't do your reads unless I experience your product, and that's fair. You don't want to endure something you're not comfortable. I never do that. But but I said, I need to see what it's all about, so that out of the story. It's really we'll talk about that later on. That's a whole other thing. But but okay, so I gotta hear about that though. I'm excited. Okay, Yeah, and I know you have some things you want to get to but of course, but I can wait. Um, I don't know, let me tell you what I want to talk about. No, I'm kidding ahead. I don't know if you know what it's like to lose your wallet. But I've never in my life lost my fucking wallet. And today, on my way out to Long Island to get this botox, I lost my wallet somewhere at the radio station during the morning show. Now I'm gonna lost your wallet and wrinkles in the same day. Yeah, I'm gonna be very okay. Now, I don't know what. Okay, this is something for the slices that need to ponder at this point. Is it worse in life to lose your wallet or your phone? I'm gonna say your phone is probably. I think I would be freaking out ten times as worse if I lost my phone. Well, are you talking about the phone because of the value, or you don't have your pictures backed up, whatever it is. I think I would freak out if I lost my phone. I did freak out because I lost my wallet. But at this point everything in my A lot of things in my wallet are on my phone, like credit cards and things duplicates of I don't have my driver's license on my phone, so I'm fucked there, UM or my registration, so there's a couple of things that need replacing. UM and of course everything else. You know, it's a cinch. You go online and you get duplicates, you make a phone call, I already have shipped come into my house all my credit cards and ship. Everything is being replaced. But right, well, you didn't have an expensive I did. I had a booze you wallet. Uh, it's it was a Salvator fair Gama. It was a gift. It was a gift, alright, But hold on, it was one of those black leather fold wallets. I've had it for ten I've had it for ten years, all right. Why didn't you put an Apple tag and wallet like all you Apple heads do listen, I should have put an Apple tag in there. But here's what happened. Again. I don't want to get into the minutia of it, just know that at seven eighteen am. Now I keep my I D for the building in my wallet, so I know and the and they never leave each other. The magnetic card you have to use it to get into the swipe in through Z one hundred and this four checkpoints. Well, if if I left my wile at home, I would have known. Um I I was last on record because I I pulled up the they pulled up the computer records of the swipes to the radio station. Today at seven eighteen am, I swiped myself into the Z one hundred glass door, which is security at checkpoint number four before we get into our studios. So I had my wallet then and before I left for the before I left to leave, you know, to go to this botox A party. Uh Am, I left. Before I left, I went to go check for my wallet and it was gone. But I said, fuck it, I gotta go. So I jumped in the car and I ran out. I knew because I when I found out that that the swipe at seven eighteen was the time that that that that the wallet had to be somewhere in the radio station, right right, So get back from this Boatox situation, and I go through the stories. I was at five six o'clock this evening before we got on our podcast. Here I'm rummaging through the radio station. I went back to the station, and I'm going through all the studio Scotty Be studio, our studio where we stand, and and I'm looking everywhere. No fucking wallet, nothing, nothing is that it was not there. I really thought that I had dropped it somewhere within the station. It was gonna be safe, and it was gonna be returned in the meantime. But you didn't leave the studio illegal trans uh No, no illegal transactions to write were made. So and you never left the radio station and everyone else let you back in. I never. I never went downsta No I left. I walked out. Okay, this is what I did do because I spoke to Garrett and Diamond from the show, and this is what you don't know. I didn't told me this. They told me this about an hour ago. They said. Because I was retracing my steps and calling everybody, I said, hey, do you guys remember me coming leaving the studio in a commercial break and coming back in an eighteen And Garrett and Diamond both said yes, they said, as a matter of fact, they kind of were laughing at me, Brody. At seven something fifteen, we went to commercials today, right before the I walked out of the studio and into the hallway by the radio station. Because what was in the hallway, David Brodie food? Yes, I'm guessing I wasn't there, but they were individually wrapped cookies that were for cookies for kids cancer and they were they were sitting in these these the Longie bags. He was today at the Longye check day. No, not to no, but but they today yesterday was Giving Tuesday, the two days ago was Giving Tuesday. And did the mom come up? No, we didn't do all that, but the ideas, the idea of it was there. So what are we okay? So you went out at seven eighteen and get cookies. Yeah, then you came back in at seven eighteen and used your card. At seven eighteen I used my card and Garrett and Diamond was there, and they both told me when I called them this evening on the phone that they saw me walk into the studio. They walked to walk into the station at that moment with the cookies in my hand and my wallet, and Diamond claimed ames I went over to the garbage pal to throw away the wrapper to the cookie, and she said she heard a bit of a thud, but they didn't think anything by it. But the way I was attacking this cookie, I was so hyper focused on this chocolate chip cookie the fourth quarter, eating the damn cookie. And then I went back into the studio. Did you have the building checked the garbage both Garrett and both Garrett and Diamond have come to the conclusion that instead of throwing away the cookie wrapper, I threw him in my fucking wallet. And I didn't even realize it. And you know something, I believe them. I agree it had that's had to that's had to have what that was what happened, because what I would think, I threw away my fucking wallet, prody over a cookie. Over a cookie, Well that's how the cookie crumbles, your son of a bitch on a stand though, So why don't you have somebody go back and in the garbage because the garbage was gone. That was at eight o'clock. The three shifts worth of of of cleaning. People came through at that, but the garbage goes to the elevator room and they don't throw it out out and the garbage doesn't come to get collected until the next day. The garbage sits in that room outside right where the food is. There's elevator bank, there's a closet. There's like a whole way there that when they throw the garbage up in there. Yeah, but that was at ten o'clock this morning. It's gone now. Well, but when you got back at four it was still there. I didn't know that until just about an hour ago. It's eight. I'm not gonna can't going through the garbage, Oh my god. Bar In fact, I'll tell you a funny story I've never told anyone. All right, I'm not gonna give any details. I'm just gonna tell you this. A very long time ago, somebody, somebody, uh, somebody who works on our floor one of the radio stations. I happened to be there when they threw out something very expensive. They're like, I don't want this, I'd never wear this, and threw it in the garbage. Was brand new, brand new, scary in the box, brand new. So I stayed later than they did, because I work later than everybody else. You were eyeballing that garbage. I went to the garbage room. I found it in the box, untouched. It was thrown out with other paper. I returned it to Nordstrom for a hundred You did not, Yes, I did. Diving? Well, I went, why would that person throw that out? Diving because you listen, you know, we work with some people who may be a little too affluent for their own good, and they would not have twice about I was like, I even said to them, why wouldn't you donate it or return it? Or like, no, I'm so against this that this type of thing that I'm gonna throw it out. No one said the next level. You went into the garbage room. I feel because once it's once, it's gone, and from the pail, wow, it's right. It was because it was to go into the actual pail that it was thrown in. Okay, I couldn't get it out of it and maybe clean it off, but I couldn't do that. I couldn't do that because it was in different radio station, and so I couldn't stand around the garbage pail. You premeditated, You premeditated this whole thing. Well, don't forget. The bangs are clear. The bangs were used at the radio station, and all the pails are clear. So I walked into the room, I looked, and there was. It wasn't hard to find. It was in a box. And you never admit this to anyone, who told anyone until just nobody, nobody. So you actually waited, you plotted. You know, I worked late, and then I was because I was used to work until one two o'clock and people would leave much earlier than that who worked earlier than night. You had the garbage on your mind all day. I can't wait. You know what it was? It must have been. It must have been a Thursday. Because I work on the I would go upstairs to work for the comedy department. So I was there late. So when I was leaving, I'm like, I wonder what happened to that box of blank? Blanke blank? So what was it? No? I can't tell me, Nope, can't can't tell you in it Okay, I can't tell me. You can't tell me, but I can tell you. It was over a hundred and seven dollars, and I was a hundred seven dollars. We made money. So it's almost like they got back back. Yeh was like, we can't take that back. I'm like, oh, it's a gift. You went dumpster diving for no, I went hallway grabbing. It's a difference. In a clear bat you could see it. It It was clear was right there in the box. Let me ask you a question. If you saw something that was worth at least a hundred dollars, you wouldn't be like, I hate to waste that. Yeah, I would. I would know I would. I would hate to waste it. Right, So how could I live with myself? I was right. You should be at the station now. They have these huge boxes that are in the middle of our living room and people are just throwing ship and left, left and right. Every time you walk by, people are looking in there, like what's in there? What's this? You would be like standing over it, you'd be standing guard. I'll be taking boxes and stuff. Were bringing in boxes and loading, unloading the trash box and throwing them into your selling the ship on eBay box. Yeah. Well listen, I was there for two moves, so I remember when we moved out of the first place. Pep Bridge Farm remembers that when we moved out in the first place, there wasn't a lot to take because at all there was room in the second place. Yeah, but we moved out to the second place that we were told there's no room in the third place for most of this stuff. So we went through all the record cabinets and c D cabinets and it's a lot of good stuff. Got a lot of good stuff out of that second move. Well. Uh, in conclusion, I had to go again new driver's license. Dude, your wallet could be sitting in the hallway right now, first thing tomorrow morning. You should check it because they don't don't think they take the garbage out seven days a week. Did you talk to Mike who runs the building. Yeah? I did. Did you tell him it's in the garbage? No, Well you should tell him tonight it's in the garbage because they might be able to keep it from going out tonight or tomorrow morning early. Oh my god, am I gonna be the one to get in there with gloves and go through it. It's not gross, it's a little It's gonna be a little plastic bag from the little pail in Scotty studio, right, So all you gotta do is go like four layers. It's the radio, the main radio station one. Where are they throw all the crap? Oh? Oh, by the oh by the door. Yeah, as soon as you walk in the door, that's the big garbage pail. Hear the thump? She said, I went over, Diamond said, I definitely motioned over as if to throw away the wrapper to the cookie. I think, I fucking how how hype focused on a cookie? Could I possibly have been imballet instead Scary? I met you. There have been times when you've been eating food at the radio station on the air and Elvis has said, Scary, give me the sound for whatever, and you kept eating, and Salvis has often said, Scary, can you put the pizza down please? I need sound? You know you you know how many times have I had to walk up to you and go, Scary, Scary, I go, I'm gonna fart in your mouth. The variable here is I don't know how much cash I had in my wallet. Oh my god, I don't think you have a bifold. Yeah. I don't keep money in my wallet. I do. I don't know how much. It couldn't have been that much. That's why I keep a giant wallet with every credit card I own in my pocket and every meal card and discount card, so it's so big. If it was missing for a second, I would feel it. I think I'm going to be sick. It was a lot of it had to be some money in there in your in your Vince Ferragamo wallet. This is why I don't buy nice things, so I don't cookies. Boys podcast, So you had you had a brain fart today. Basically you threw you wall it out. That reminds me of something happened at Whole Foods to me this week. Not to me, but I saw it. Now. You know when you when you say something stupid, you sorry, brain fart? Yeah? Right, So I was in Whole Foods and there's a woman who works there in her thirties maybe, and she said something to a female customer that didn't make any sense. The woman was like, huh, So the woman who works at old Foods says, oh, sorry about that senior moment. Well, I say I said that to Garrett today after the wallet episode. I said, dude, my very first senior moment right now? You are you are about fifteen years older than Garrett. Okay, I think that's fair to say. Maybe twenty dude, I'm five years six years old. Thing. No, you're not, you're you're you're ten years older than him. Let's say ten years. I think it's twelve or thirteen. But anyway, the point is it's okay for you to say that to Garrett because he's twelve thirteen years younger than you, and uh, and you're older than him, so you can be like senior moment. Right. Here's the problem with Whole Foods. The woman who in her thirties said that to an old lady, and the old lady looks at her and says, what the hell does that mean? And the younger woman says, I'm sorry, what do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean? What does that mean? She says, I'm seventy eight years old? And what the hell am I doing? Uh that that you're gonna because you made a mistake, blame it on yourself, but don't blame it on having a senior moment. I'm a seeing you, damn it. She goes, So you just had a senior moment in insulting seniors. So the woman was like, oh my god, I'm so sorry. I should have said brain fart because but you had a brain fart there when you thought you could throw around the time seenor moment. Dude, you can't say seeing your moment to a senior. No, you can't, you can't, doesn't doesn't land. And the woman didn't even really She's like, what did you say to me? What? What do you? What the hell does that mean? Just like, oh, it means I made a mistake because I'm I'm I'm old. Like, yeah, it hits differently, you got it hits Yeah, I thought she was gonna hit her differently. So yeah, you have to be careful what you said. Um, So I'll go, okay, I have u overheard in the bathroom story for you. So I've told you stories before about the guy who was shipping himself and then about the guy who was like, uh, who was talking to himself making those grunting sounds and it sounds like he was jerking off or whatever, definitely jerking off of the college dorm. And I told you about the guy who was yelling at his dick and at the urinal. Yes, at the steakhouse. You get into all the interesting. Uh. So my wife and I went out for dinner on Sunday. We went to Morton Steakhouse, a terrific steak place. You should take me there one time. And I'm in the stall. Now, there's two stalls when you walk in, and when you walk in the door, you're facing both stalls. The handicap stall is directly in front of you, and the other stall is a little to the right, and there's somebody in that stall. So I go into the bigger stall, which you're allowed to use. It's not handicapped, it's handicapped accessible. But I notice as I'm approaching the handicap stall that the opening between the door and the wall, you know, the divider is so wide, and it's directly in line with the toilet, so you can see the person sitting on the toilet. I'm about to be that person sitting on the toilet. So I do what I always do. I take a long piece of toilet paper and I pinch it into the crack so it hangs down and blocks the opening. Right, Okay, you understand that the picture on painting, so no one can see me in the bathroom. Okay, But if I'm in the bathroom, right, but you can't see at the crack because I've got floor to the the ceiling toilet paper now blocking the crack. Okay, so two guys walk in. They I could I could tell roughly how old they were and what they looked like by their voices. And they sounded like two old white guys, like maybe like in their sixties. I'm not gonna say old, but like seven, maybe sixty five older. And one of them says, can you believe what Marie said? And the other guy says which part he says? Marie says she gives the best blow jobs? And the other guy says, with a face like that, how does anyone get an erection with her in the first place? So I'm hearing this and they're bad mouth and Marie, Well, first of all, how I mean, look, I'm not a woman, but I've never been in a situation where I would think a woman. I don't know. Do you often women you brag at a table full of people you're not married to. I don't know. Have you been at tables where women are like, I give the best blow jobs? I'm not really No, I don't. I don't. I don't think I've ever been. Maybe girls at a table of all girls might joke around like, oh I can work that's exactly it. I think women will gossip with each other. We will talk about that stuff with each other. Right. So then so then the first guy says, but why do you thinks she's going to blow jobs? Would have faced like that? She probably used to give him all the time. I'm like, oh my god, this is just so terrible bad mouth. It's almost like, oh wow, oh my god. Another one. Right, she's on like Maria is drunk and unattractive. Point try harder, right, because she's not attractive according to these men. I'm like, oh, this pull Marie, this poor woman. Right. So I'm not coming out of the bathroom because first of all, you know, I don't want to come out and let them know I heard them. And also I'm doing my business. So they finished, and they leave, and I get up, and I finished and washed my hands. I leave and I say to my wife that we had a We had a booth on the side of the restaurant, and it was one of those booths were like, it's like a C shaped booth. She and sit on either end of the table, or two people can sit on the long side right right, so you can sit across to each other, or you can sit like next to like one person facing the dining room, one person facing to the side. So now you are at a right angle to each other. My wife says, let's sit next to each other, so we're facing out like watching a movie. Okay, do you do that? How do you sit? If you if you had a choice of sitting across from each other at a long booth, or you could sit on the short side and she could sit on alongside. So now you're like right angle to each other. What are you sitting together? We always sit right angle? Really shit, right angle like an l you know, like that That's what I would have done. Yeah, I would have done that in the C shaped booth. But there were four of them along the wall, and everyone that all the couples were sitting sitting next to each other. So my wife says, well, let's try sitting next to each other, you know whatever. I was like, I but it was weird to turn my head to look at her the all time. You know, I feel like because because your natural body motion is to look straight ahead, now you want the person in front of you right. I felt like we were in a car driving or at a movie theater. Didn't feel like dinner. To me, the only thing it was easier to share food, but that was it. So so I come back in the bathroom. In European countries, though, they they they sit on the same side and look out as if well, that's what we were doing. Things on display, But that's what we're doing. So when I come out, I now remember my wife has been facing the entire dining room. So I come out and I say, Hey, did two white guys just come out? So, and by the way, I'm they sounded I don't know what white sounds like before you like text me, I just got the impression, so they sounded older. So I said, uh, did a couple of older guys come out just now from the bathroom? She says, yeah, over there at that table. So I said, before I say anything about the table, I tell of the story. She's, oh, my god, that's terrible. And then we both look over to see if we can figure out which one of them is a marine. There are two guys and three women, and two of them the women beautiful women, blonde hair, beautiful women. So now, and one of them had a face like she was hit with a shovel. That was Marie. I'm guessing that was Marie. So that was my night. So I was like, I was like, which one do you think it is? She's like the one on the left. I'm like, absolutely, that's got to be Marie. And I felt bad because you know, you don't want to like I feel bad for the woman. But speaking in a hand, I'm thinking, what does she do that? So good? My face hitting being hit with a shovel? My face was hit with a shovel. It looks like it right now. I'm very yours. Oh because you lost your wallet? No? No, because of the boat, Talx, I got oh, oh the boat, talx. It's not telling me about the boat. We're gonna take a breaking botox here and we could take a break and then talk boat talks. Yeah, but let me ask you one question before you go to break with the first thing you and Robin have done was to figure out which one was Marie? Absolutely? Okay, yeah, because we want to know too, Yeah exactly. I felt like, going over, God, is your name? Marine? Looked for when knows the sons of bitches? Okay? So Scary Jones the boy from benson Hurst, Brooklyn, a tough neighborhood. Oh my god, I never would have thought growing up at twelve thirteen, the mean streets in the seventies, right, the mean streets of Brooklyn. Growing up, everybody was toughing my fever, their cruising up eighty six Street and the cause, gold chains, muscle t shirts, scary jones from the streets, from the hood getting botox. Okay, we'll wait a second. Let me preface this by saying this. First of all, I learned that people men, women, women in their twenties are getting botox as a preventative measure. Should I was about to say, Marie with her shovel face baby botox. They call it lighter doses, and it's preventative measures, so you don't have problems later in life, So you do light stuff now. I also learned that at one point it was about nine six to four women four percent men. That's now more like more guys, more and more men every day are getting these injections now. But hold on, before I go even further, let me say that I've always been curious. I'm in my forties and I don't want my skin to like like really deteriorate in a in a in a in an awful manner. I I want. I want to be preventative, so I said, and because what I did get the assessment, They said, you really just have like a little you have the credit card swipe on your they called the credit card swipe, which is the crease on your forehead, across your forehead. They say, you definitely have that said in what do they call it? The credit cards? Yeah, because you put a credit card and go who you can't do that right now? You don't have any credit cards? Thank you, you asked all. Thanks for a minding me. But um, I said, you know what, I wouldn't mind a little bit of touch here and there. I don't I don't want fillers. I don't want to look like a claimation doll, like like you've remorphed my face, none of that. I said. I would like to see what it would look like if you did a little a little. So now I didn't realize this, but botox is the name of the Botox is the name of the first the first thing that they used to inject you with it. It was it started in the seventies, toxic in it thing. Now, get this, They own the word, and the word owns the category worry. So there are others that have come out since the seventies. Other compounds are a little you know whatever. The other bachulisms not legally called. There's no boulim in the other world. So there's there's number two, number three, number four, number five, there's about there's number five. No, because that would have been that would have been the botuli um in number one, which is botox. Botox has bochulis and botox has has that. That the duty whatever it is, that ho whever they interject you with whatever, that's the original original one. Okay, I got, I got the um the zeeman, so they injected me with zemen. All right, it's so funny you've got a zeemon facial definitely, okay they I'll just sit here. I'll wait until you finish your jokes. It's it's it's z it's x x I O M E N or m I N zmin zemin zmin okay, and German face a stick zeeman instead of botox, they use zem okay, So what zemen is zmin? You know who knows what zemen is? Marie? So what's so stop it? So now apparently zomin is is both boat stox. It's hold on. It's the botox without the botuli is um. It's just it's just the pure it's just the pure form of the stuff. It's almost well, let's call it organic, but it's not. But it's it's the organic. It's the organic version of botox. So I'm like, oh, So they asked me, they said which one do you want? I said, let's go with the Zeeman. I said, I'll take I'll take some zem into the face. So they injected me with some Zeman instead of botox. But you still call it botox because botox is so popular that that that the process of putting a needle in your face to deadening the cells and and and you know, freezing you know whatever, that deadening the nerve endings, that has been known to be called botox, even though there are five other types of of of the serums out there. I'm finding it very hard to swallow this whole Zeeman story. Thanks. So, I just did a little bit on my a little bit on my crow's feet. You know that's on you Crow's feet are the side when you squint, the sides of your eyes. Yeah, yeah, And a little and a little a little bit of touch up on my crease of my forehead. And that's it. I said, I want to look natural. I don't want to. I want to be able to have expression lines. I want to be able to. I don't want it to look like I'm like made of stone. You want you wanted to look like if you're sad about losing your wallet, you'll still look say yes, So they they they hit me with it today and they gave me a little they needle. You're gonna call them? Are they gonna call you tomorrow? They're gonna ghost you after shooting zeeman in your face. So we'll just say, I'm just gonna keep on flowing through this. I'm taking the high road on this one. That and then I got a little needle therapy. I forgot what they call when you're getting some needling now from me? Yeah, of course I'm getting a lot of that, all right, You got needle therapy? Needle No, it's like, uh yeah. They they take away they do something with the capillaries, and then some light, a light, some light facial or something like that. They put these things on your eyes. You close your eyes and then light they zapp, they zapp the brown spots like diets. On your skin, and the and the and the capillaries, they zap them. I don't know. Apparently I'm gonna I'm gonna have clearer, healthier skin. But but but this, but this is all part of self care. Scary see the other day self, If you had taken care of yourself, you would be able to sk your own day and you wouldn't have to go some I'm telling you, we gotta start caring for ourselves at some point and get into a routine. I went for a lymphatic massage the other day. Do you know what them? Okay, we were taught I know, the fat part in all of our story, in all of our schooling, we were taught about the circulatory system, the excretory system, you know, the nervous the nervous system. No one talks about the lymphatic system. The very simple thing is this, our body. Think of our body is as pools of water. Right. If our body is a pool, the lymphatic system is the is the filter, and a lymphatic massage is cleaning the filter or changing the filter. So a lot of times all the gunk that gets caught up in the lymphatic system just sits there and causes other problems and complications. So you need to have a special massage to move it, move it through the system. So it's not like a Swedish massage or hot stone massage. But it was cool. I had that the other day. I did that. That was awesome when you had this massage. At the end of the massage, was there any zeeman on the table? You just can't be kind. You are one trick pony, aren't you. It sounds it's yeah, so you slices, you know what I'm saying, slices. No, No, of course they know. But anyway, that's that's that. So so what was that green ship all over you? I saw? That was the other thing I did. That was again all part of my self care routine. That so they put these three enzyme masks on me and that was that was a separate session altogether. That was like a couple of weeks ago. And and they wear it. But then you wait a minute, you said you were wearing an enzyme mask today when they zem in the face they did tonight today they a light facial uh, and they did something they did a little light thing. But yeah, it was the other day when I when when I had the masks, so I looked like the Incredible Hulk. I wouldn't say that. Three we looked more like she Hulk three enzyme masks. And then I sat there with them. And then and then part of the emphatic was at massages they put your body, They put yourself in a cocoon of of of a hundred twenty degree heat and you sit there and it opens up your whatever. I don't know. I apparently it's all supposed to be good for you. I'm not I'm not listening. I'm not well. I'm not a doctor, per se per se. I just I want to I want to see where this goes. I want to see if I can put time in a bottle somehow and just to capture it, right, don't we? I mean, now good? A time is any And I say this as a public service to people that maybe we should start caring for our skin and our well. You know, listen, you know me, I I run away fourth quarter of ski. He is already in overtime. By the way, you quoted Jim Jim Croce one time in a bottle. Yeah, yeah, I could put time in the bottle. Yeah, but but it's safe time but but but at the end of the day, it's something is better than doing doing nothing. I Mean, everyone always like criticizes me for going on this the toxic the detox program I do in January. I'm not gonna mention it here. I'm not gonna mention the sponsor. I don't want to do that. Good all right, And so so we do these things because I don't know, it's better than doing nothing. I mean, yeah, horse, I go back on my word and I eat like an animal. But you have to live your life. You can't. Okay. Did you tell the uh, the the zemin people that you chose your cookies over your wallet? That's that's that. Did you see that? Did you see the picture I sent you? It's embarrassing. Yes, you sent me. Yes, I'm looking at it right now. Now. How short is your tie? Oh my god? First of all, thank you, that's a terrible Still okay, but shouldn't your girlfriend tell you, should she say something to you? Shouldn't she say before you go out, scary, you should fix your tie. Yeah, it's a little short. It could be a little Look, it looked like what's his name Blueto from Yeah? Is it Blueto? Or Costello. No, not Blue Whimpy. Let me see Wimpy. Yes, it was Whimpy. Whimpy had the short tie. I gladly pay you tuesday for a hamburger. Today I gonna have to do a side by side. There was a side by side. No, no, no, no, no, don't do it. You are just cracking yourself up today. Boy, I am, Oh my god, it's it's it's I nailed it. You sure did, Bernie. All right, You'm gonna I can't do that. No, don't do that, please. Alright, let's spare all of ourselves here. Alright, alright, fine, I do have I do have a pizza story sound and then I have a major confession to make I did something terrible. Okay, So then one story. Why don't we do this sound piece here? Okay? And then we can tell me what the sound cruise. Also, I have a charity I want to talk about real quick when you get a chance. Okay, cruiseman, Um, let me look at the list. I want to make sure we do him in order. Do you remember last week, um, there was a carnival cruise where um, a man fell overboard and they found him fifteen hours later. Yes, it was a carnival cruise right found out. It's amazing that they found him. They found him a live fighting for fighting for his life, fighting for his life. So I'm gonna play three clips and then I have some some jokes that I posted on Twitter. I would I would like to share with you when we're all done. But now I want you to hear this scary You've heard of a good old fashioned Christmas miracle, haven't you? Sure have? Sure have? Now? Have you ever heard of this? Play the clip? It's his miracle man, a miracle man here. This is, like I said, one of the absolutely longest that I've heard about, and just miracles, one of those Thanksgiving miracles. Have you ever heard of a Thanksgiving miracles? I haven't heard of a a Thanksgiving miracle ever, but this is one of those. This is one of those many Thanksgiving miracles. Okay, absolutely longest that I've heard about miracles. Sounds like he is misquoting a movie where he heard one of those good old fashioned Christmas miracles. Yeah, but it's one of those Thanksgiving What film was that? From? Christmas miracles? All of them? Wonderful life, every Christmas miracle movie. This person is getting his holidays mixed up. Yeah, okay, So now the guy was found in the water fifteen hours later, right in the general two hundred mile area. They were looking for him, and you'd think if you saw the guy, that's the guy play the cruiseman clip. He was able to identify his name, confirmed that he was the individual that sell overboard. He was able to confirm his name and confirmed he was the guy that fell overboard because they weren't sure they found a man and in fully dressed floating in the water, but he was He was able to go yep, that was me. Sounds like was there any doubt you think they were like, I wonder if that's the guy. Maybe he found a different guy. His name confirmed that he was the individual that sell overboard. Yep, I'm the guy. What if he's lying water. What if the guy jumped in the water like he took his friend's boat, jumped in the water and was like, oh, you know, I'll get a free cruise out of this. They'll pick me up and I'll say I was on the cruise and they'll put me back on the ship. Yeah, that's great news. Replays, Are you the man that fell off the cruise ship. It sounds like their main staff was on vacation that week, and like the d these are the they put the interns on the air. That's absolutely terrible. I'll give you three jokes in a minute. Okay, So do you have the clip from last week with a woman? Play that clip? You could write from one last thing. So I'm gonna go to Arizona on the ground. Um in just a second. Give us an update on the governororial race. There the government governatorial right now? We talked about how for some reason, I don't know why I didn't. I don't bother. I'll look it up at some point, but it's gouber nottorial. Do you be gubernatorial not governatorial? It's gubernatorial. Now A lot of people might question why there's a b in governor, why it's not a v like governatorial? Right. Listen to this woman who's on a fantasy football show. What her problem is Derrick Henry sixteen point too fantasy points higher or lower against the Eagles. Why do they say like gubernatorial for the governor? Why is this? Where's there? You can tell me that, Larry, where is the gyam point to fantasy points higher or lower against the eagles. Why do they say like enial for the governor? Why is this? Where is there? You can tell me that, Larry, Oh God, where is there a G? The first letter? You might question the B. You might question the lack of a V. But why are you questioning the G? If it was goupenatorial or governatorial? The only the only, the only steady letter you got, the only unquestionable letter is G. She's like, why is where is the G? The G's at the end, it's operatorial? The funk is she? I love her? She's brilliant when it comes to fantasy football. But where and it's just the other guy. You'll have to tell me where? The G is just smart enough and as if she's not, most guys cannot find the G. No I could spot it sometimes. Okay, if you're past, I didn't get to do my unused jokes, Well that's what this segment is for right here. So they're not really unused, but since I'm not on the morning show anymore, they're the next question, Are you writing jokes for yourself? Now? Yeah? Well no, I write them for Twitter. Pross. I'm putting together a writing packing, so I have to start getting back in the flow, right, and we're back with the unused jokes segment. Here it is, I guess we are we're um Brody wrote, and uh, nobody used them because well I used them on Twitter and we're used them on Twitter. But he's talking to himself all day. Also, I want to shout out Seth Myers. He does a segment called roll Call where he reads the jokes that his writers wrote. Yes, I love that that segment that we're either not funny enough or too crude for the show's monologue, right, and then he calls out the writers and tells you who wrote them. Yes, that is my unused jokes segment. I want credit for that. Okay, So here my three jokes. Oh well they're unused jokes. It's the same thing I been doing. Okay, So here are three jokes I put out on Twitter. If you don't follow me on Twitter at David Brody. All right. A man fell off a carnival cruise ship and was miraculously found fifteen hours later floating in the water. The man described his fifteen hours struggling to survive as the best time he had on the carnival cruise. Hilarious. A man fell off a carnival cruise ship was miraculously found fifteen hours later floating in the water. The man survived on nothing but life savers. Okay, okay, man fell off a carnival cruise ship. YadA, YadA, YadA. He survived only because he pushed rose off of the plank of wood. All right, those are my three jokes. I love that. I love that. Okay, all right, but who knows where I'll end up? Right, give yourself a garbage pail rim shot. Yes, I threw my you know what that you know what? That was? What? So I threw my phone down on my computer gaming desk, which I bought for myself. Very symbolic, by the way, to give yourself the trash can rim shot of the trashy jokes. Well, better a rim shot than a zeming facial Okay, alright, So I thought myself, I got myself a gaming desk because I wanted a new desk in in my home office. It's much smaller, but it's got like um what do they call like kevlar top, very smooth, like a writing desk from the n No, it's a it's a it's a video gaming desk. Douche bag. So I had this desk and I didn't have a gaming chair, so I've been using a regular office chair with it, and it just didn't feel right, didn't look right. So I just got a new gaming chair, which if you know what a gaming chair is, it's because high back. Dam yes, it's it's it's so it's a very nice material, leathers material blue black, does have a nice little like headrest. It has a padded headrest and it's got high arm rest so you can hold your your game controllers. And uh so I wanted to shout out because I'm very happy. And it's on sale this week, which is why I got it. Let's let's be let's be serious. But it's normally four dollars four undred two dollars, it's on sale for one. I got it from office place dot com. It's the black gaming chair, the ion Archaeas Ergonomic gaming chair. Anyway, it's uh, it's not very expensive and it's really it's padded and comfortable. So um and not a sponsor, I'm just telling you I got a new chair. I'm sitting on and and I'm excited to be you. So now I have a gaming chair and a gaming desk. I feel like, um patriot, I do. I do because the desk is black with red trim, and the chair is black with blue trim, and it's sort of like a very patriotical look. You feel like my eleven year old nephew. Thanks in life. Why do you feel year? Eleven year old nephew? You're terrible? A shout out to Philly. I'm going to Philly this weekend. I'm so excited, Brodie. I haven't been a Philly in a couple of years. Um, we're just we're just headed there. Uh yeah, well, you know, I I they have the how these holiday lights that that are going on? They do? They do Christmas really well. I mean, listen, we have Rockefell Center, we got the tree, we got pretty damn good job. But because I haven't seen Philly in a minute, and it's such a quick getaway, I said, And there's restaurants there I've been wanting to try. I mean, I figured, let's go. So me and Robin are hopping on the Acela. My Robin and I are hopping on the Acela. It's a seventy minute ride from from Penn Station to thirty Street station and in Philly, I've done it. Yeah, and we're gonna go Saturday morning and we were gonna hit up some places. There's a there's a place in um So. I was watching an episode of Somebody Feed Phil if you watch that on Netflix. Yes, he's the guy who goes around the world and you know, like a lot of those food shows, they try different cuisines and different So Phil and I follow each other on Instagram. That's Phil Rosenthal used to be one of the main people writing for Everybody Loves Everybody Loves Raymond so uh oh. In fact, let me take a quick story about him. He recommended a place in l a for the best monster Ball soup and it had Dylan it and he and I went at it, uh for a little while, and out I told him, I said ship and he said his grandmother put Dylan it. And that's why he loves it. Sid Yeah, because guess what, he is a true Jew and he knows Dyl belongs Mats soup. And Jason rom Mono sent me a picture our listeners. Ray Romano's son from another Romano sent me a picture of a pickle with a Christmas hat that said, uh, naughty, naughty, Comma deal with it. Deal with. In other words, it's a pickle. And I brought my parents two Saddel's for the first time ever and they we had a wonderful meal Italian parents. I loved it. Yeah, of course, because it's for everyone. We chronicled it on social media, and Brody the d ms were flooding in thank you slices for calling it out because I I we showed platters of the you know, the locks, the Scottish salmon and the herring and the white fish and the and and and then I was doing, you know, putting that on my story, and people were deming me Brody would hate this right now, hate it. And then people like a funk Dale, Fuck Dale. So yeah, so uh well, Desiree, our listener, Desiree, who's deems me a lot, She said, last night we got our Hello Fresh box and one of the recipes was a chicken and dil recipe and I was unboxing it and I said, I yelled, fuck Dil. My husband thinks I'm crazy. Guys, Dill just adds to the flavoring of the food. It's a good flavor. Stop being so biased against it. I don't know what people problem is with dil. It's terrible whatever. Anyway, that was the sidebar. The point is I was watching Somebody Feed Dill, I mean Phil, and it was the Philly episode, and uh, he went to a bunch of places. He went to this thing called like Magic Gardens in Philly, so I um, so I'm like, I'm gonna go there. Uh went to this place called Dallas Sandro's, uh, cheese steaks, and oh, I've heard good things. Well, I mean everyone talks about Pats versus Geno's versus Gyms on South Street, um, and Tony Luke's we know about you. And the roast pork. Well, apparently Dallas Sandro's is a thing. And Phil looked like he was so happy eating this this cheese steak. So I'm gonna go looking for that and John's roast pork. Since Phil was in there too, I'm like, I'm going there and uh they're having this, um this, some rooftop bars that are open that are enclosed, Um, a lot of cool stuff. There's a part of a pub crawl going on, a lot of a lot of good things going on in Philly. So so I'm like, you know what, we spent so much time in the city let's do a little, uh, a little quick quick hop for the weekend. So Woods on your list. No, but we are going to uh and tell me about what dro was. In a second, We're going to laser Wolf. So laser Wolf was started in Philly. It restaurants started in Philly, and um, I guess it's Mediterranean or it's um, maybe it might be Israeli Israeli food, a lot of hummus and and lot of stuff from the Middle East. Well, this is the restaurant that opened recently in Williamsburg. And that night Howard Stern, Jennifer Aniston, and um, Jimmy Kimmel were all out that night. That was the night that Howard was out with Beth and everybody were all out at laser Wolf. You can't get into the one in Williamsburg. But the original one is in Philly and somebody Phil went there from somebody feed Phil. So I can't wait to check out laser Wolf. And you're just watching everybody feed fill somebody. I'm just write and taking notes. Yes, and not only that, Um, there's a place called you know the guy Steven Starr that does He's the big restaurant tour from Philly. He does a he does what. I think we're going too deep into this, are we okay? Well well no, no no, no, no no, no, tell me what he makes. But I wanted to go and come back and tell me what Dan Well Dandelion is gonna is a restaurant, Dan Dandelion, It's a dandelion, Yeah, in a British pub. Whatever the case. I cannot wait to try. So all this stuff is on my list. So I'm coming to Philly. Barkley Barkley Prime has a hundred wag you truffle cheese steak, but I hear Wood Rows Uh is known for their truffle cheese steak, But Barkley Prime wag you beef truffle cheese steak sounds to me like up your alley, right, up my alley. Well anyway, right, anyway, I'm gonna report back next week. But this is the reason why I bring it up is because I want to let show that, let the slices know that we don't just it's not just about New York. I want to I want to go travel and see I want to see other things. And we have a lot of people listening um in Philly. Well, while you're in Philly. I hope you will represent wearing a Brooklyn Boys T shirt or perhaps your ugly Christmas sweatshirt that you got Brooklyn Boys dot Big Cartel dot com. Scary because this quick reminder. We have holiday ornaments again, Christmas ornaments with it both uh for your your your your tree or your bush. And we have ugly Christmas sweatshirts and of course the regular Brooklyn Boys merchandise. Yes we do so uh. It looks like November this past month a very slow month at the Brooklyn Boys dot Big Cartel site. I feel like we haven't reminded people about the fantastic merchandise we have their doing the whole month. Who's sitting around? I think the elves were getting ready for to go up to the North Pole for the winter. So I'm just letting you know, Brooklyn Boys Big Gutel Big Cartel dot com is still open and Boys dot Big Cartel dot com. That's a great time to buy something for your loved one. And not just the ornaments for your tree or your bush, but very high quality ornaments, I should add. But hoodies, it's getting cold, it's chili. Let's do it everywhere. You know what Chili and Philly. Maybe we're a hoodie while you're down there. I could, I could do that. I wore my Brooklyn Boys shirt to Target this week, walked around proudly with it. Look at you, which you can too, I probably can. I can't go. Yeah. One thing I won't do is where a Giants jersey at the Eagles game on. That would be a mistake. There played a large mistake. I was invited to the Giants tight the Eagles Titans, uh and at one o'clock, but it's going to be late for me to get back, so I don't know. We'll see matchup, good matching. Well, there he goes. Eagles are smelling like a Super Bowl team this year. Yea, they are definitely running the board. I mean after the Phillies lost in the World Series, I think the Eagles need to pick it up. Let's go. Although although my Jets are might be playoff bound, they need to win this weekend against the Vikings. All right, And um, I didn't want to talk about before we leave. I want to talk about our Spotify wraps. If anybody's interested in those, what were number one songs and artists? Thank you, but everybody that that are dming us with the fact that they're number one podcast. Was that I want to shout out a couple of people. If I don't get to everybody apologize, but Ross Ross, I screenshot at this Ross, so I only have Ross over could be Ross Overboard. Let me let me see if I have his full name here. He sent us his his rap over eight thousand minutes listening to the Brooklyn Boys podcast. So, uh so, kudos to Ross and everybody else who said, uh that it's the number one thing, my number one podcast. Also the Brooklyn Boys podcast. Same for me. Now my top genres Ross over Ball Number five was Callie, we're doing that now? Yeah, we have no other choice because we're about to get out of here. Um now, I want to tell you about I have a confession to make, but let's let's do the rap confessions. Do you know? I learned that Dave Grohl from Used to Be Nirvana from Food Finders his favorite. One of his favorite bars is the Nancy Walker Pub, extored to our building in Tribeca where the Yes Nancy Whiskey Whiskey actress in the seventies. Nancy Whiskey Pub loves it. He's always there right under our nose, Brodie, but we never go in there anyway. Number five callie rap. I guess that would be like Snoop and Dre and Tupac and West Coast shit love that. That's your number one song. Number five genre. Number four genre before was Latin hip hop. Number three was neo mellow. I don't know what that really means. Number a lot of neo music and Brody you could you could guess number two and number one, number two E d M, number one dance pop. That would have been my guess. Okay, so I have to like pull up my uh and I got my top songs, which by the way, not impressive. Here. Do it to it, Bounce with it, lean with it, rock with it, snap with it. Oh your ladies, pop your backs with it. I did screenshots, but I didn't do uh. Let me see my hone from Faruco. No no no no no no learner no no no no learner no no no no learn that. It's a Spanish song, right you know? It says my morning started with hype motivation, sad boy my you seize the day with jovial reminiscent sorrow. I don't, I don't that doesn't have the sense to me. You embraced the night with rebellious, amped, proud. Okay, okay, all that let's see all that added, All that listening added up to mm hmm five thousand, eight hundred and seventy five minutes, so not as much as some other people. Five thousand, six d hundred minutes. Let me see, I played seven D two songs as that song going where my genres? I'm gona give you my genres? Listen to three artists. I know who my number one artists is. Okay, but you like layers like an onions. Let me see what my genres are. Thank you for spending time with us, you know. Okay, So some of my favorite genres genres across let's see big room mix, piano rock, melodic metal, and rap rock. I don't I don't know what rap rock. I listened, all right, So let me tell you what my my songs were. None that you will know, and I have to explain. So the top songs. Um. Part of what I'm gonna say to you is that I set my alarm every day. Two rock songs I like that have a really loud intro, so they'll they'll startle me. So they may not necessarily be my favorite songs, but there are songs that will startle me and wake me up. Never stay Away to Heaven because it starts soft, starts too soft. So my my top five songs? Um where mine? Okay? One more thing, so Peacemaker, which is on HBO Max. Uh uh it's he's from Suicide Squad, right, so Tim Gunn is Tim Gunn? No, no, Peter Gunn. I don't know what the hell's his name. People are screaming at the screaming now. Uh, let's see from Guardians of the Galaxy. Okay, it's important, all right, you're looking at pren go for it. Yeah, James Gunn, thank you. Everyone's yelling James James Gunn. James Gunn is a big fan of eighties metal, as m I. So what he did was he started playing bands in the soundtrack to Peacemaker that are current bands that sound like eighties metal bands. So I was exposed to what's called Swedish metal or sleeves metal, which is European acts that are playing music that sounds like the eighties. Okay, so I got really big into the band that he's has on the soundtrack, Wig Wham. So if you know, if you like rock music, you might like wig Wam wig. So number five was Mine All Mine by wig Wham. Number four was kick Start by Hot by Motley Crue because that starts off with like motorcycle and that wakes me up in the morning, Um, Gonna get you Someday by wig Wam, in My Dreams by wig Wam, and number one was do you want to Taste It? By wig Wam uh and who would know better than that than you and your your zeem and facials. So that's the theme song the Piecemaker, which I was obsessed with for like a month and a half. All I could do was listen to this album a couple of the albums because like, oh my god, it is a band I love it? Ever heard of? If you're wondering what we're talking about, it's it's Spotify is wrapped. Yeah you must have seen them being posted all over social this week. But basically when you open up Spotify, uh, they give you your They wrap up your year in music in a couple of different slides, and they give you some basic stats with colorful graphics. What were your what were your five most listened to artists? Did you tell us that, Yes, it was Drake Bad Bunny. Uh, it was all It was all hip hop stuff because I always used Spotify when I'm in a hip hop mood. I don't have the screenshot, but Drake and Bad Bunny were like number one and two, very close to my list, very close. I've got Deaf Leopard of a tray you you've never heard of them, zebra Head again, bands that waked me up on my alarm, I'm sorry was number three for me, very close. Almost had Dualipa, but it was replaced by Motley Crue of course, and and and Wig Whim and Molly Crue and Death. They're okay there there are I believe they're Swedish. Um, I'll tell you where they're from in a minute. But um, their Nordic. I can tell you that anyway. They're a band. They're Norwegian. Excuse me there, Norwegian Norwegian glad metal band. And they look and sound like they're an eighties metal band. Like they look and sound like Poison and Deaf Leppard and bon Jovie back in the day. But they but it's modernized. But they sound like they're from the eighties. And I just I love them because they're funny, the lyrics are clever, and I really enjoyed them. To Joel Corey number four, Joel Corey had a lot of those dance, those eurodance songs that we didn't play on the radio. But you know again, that's my wig whim. Is your Joel Corey is my wig whim because you're like people are like who So Motley Crue and Deaf Leppard. I saw them at City Field over the summer. They're playing, um the hard rock casino in Atlantic City. You know what the starting price for the bad seats are, tor, You gotta be kidding. They were already on the secondary market. No, they have the the pre sale right now. That's a prese price. That's the free sale price. Dude, That's what I say. Get off like a one armed Bandit absolutely like a one on Bandit that's which is good for Atlantic City. Okay, so let me say you real quick. That was sorry, that was a Deaf Leopard joke. Oh it was it because the drummer has one arm. H Yeah, you know the poor guy lost is let it Go? Why the way? Let It Go? A song off Death Leopards second album. Yes, and that's exactly about his arm. No, it was not. The song was before we got years. No, you don't know, we don't know. I gotta, I gotta, I gotta. We'll tell you about a quick charity I wanted to share. Do you go for it? Because okay, good, good. Then I'm gonna plug my appearance. So our friends at Oakley office chairs, you remember to give us those office chairs like six months ago, the ones that creak, No kidding, no there the ones. This was not chairs. These are the Oakley chairs. Anyway, they're involved with a charity. Um and uh so they're involved with a chair. As you know, cancer is the leading cause of death for children ages one to nineteen. As you know, I'm a childhood cancers survivor, and as such I usually pay a little more attention to childhood cancer charities. So project Ed Bear b e a R. Is a charity in north East Ohio. They raised money to help children and their families as they battle childhood cancer. They provided Teddy Bear for each child each patient in Akron's Children's Hospital and surrounding hospitals that care for children. They also provided PlayStations in everyon college room in children's hospitals. Camp ed Bear provides a college scholarships and much more. They had their annual Galla auction this week. Anyway, it's a really good cause, especially if you're in the northeast Ohio area, as many of our slices are. But even if you're not, you can go to project ed bear dot org or fine project ed Bear and Facebook. So this is their big fundraising week. I wanted to shout them out because I came across their charity and I think it's a good deal of you, and and and I. Um, I can't really follow that up with anything because I know, because no, because you just you know, you wrapped it up into a nice bow. Okay, so let let me end on a on a on a good note or a bad note, because I'm I'm ashamed. I have a confession to make. As I said before. Um So, my neighborhood, all the pizza places closed. None of them are open after ten o'clock. None of the real pizza places are open. Okay, you want pizza, you gotta get it before ten o'clock. Well, scary, you know, I'm a Brooklyn boy. A lot of times you go to John's Pizza's open to two in the morning. There's always pizza places open. You can always get a slice. So I don't know. I was I went to see a movie this week. I saw The Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion. Okay, it was good. It's gonna be on Netflix for free in a couple of weeks, but it was in a movie theaters for a week. It was very good. Anyway. So I'm coming home, it's like nine thirty five. I realize, I'm just you have to have a craving for pizza. Of course, right that we're we're Brooklyn boys. Were right now, it's it's in It's in our it's in our logo. Get pizza. In the logo are slices, you know what I'm talking about? Slices. So at nine I get to this pizza place. Scary. It's the only pizza place open til ten o'clock. It has normally Yeah, it's okay. Well, so their pizza on a good day is a six and a half. That's how it's borderline pizza. Okay, But they were open. So I pulled into the little parking lot in front. I go up the steps, I go inside, and you know how a lot of pizza players have the glass cases. We can see the pizza we have talked about that. They don't have that. They have the old school high top counter where the pizza is on the other side. You can't see it. So I say to the cashier, Hey, I know you're closing soon. What do you have left? He says, we don't have anything left. I said, you're open fifteen more minutes. What do you mean He said, yeah, we have no It was so the kid cutting the pizza. He says, I got whatever is in the box. Whatever's in the box. So he's got a pizza box on top of the counter and the lids not closed because it's stuffed with pizza. He goes, oh, I can give you what I can sell you whatever is in the box. Like a game show. So he brings the box over. Scary if you could pick every topping slice that I wouldn't eat and make it look like it was from three days ago and cold cardboard, that's what was in the box. Broccoli slices, meat pool and broccoli, onions and pepperoni, uh and mostly like vegetables. Every slice was cursed by one piece of green vegetable that you was a box of spizza. It was a mountain of like a slice. This direction, that direction, that's a that's a six and a half at best on a good day. This was now closing time, and I'm getting with ship left left over. So I said it was I wish I wanted to take a picture for the for my social media, and I thought it would like you. I said, no, thanks, I walked out. But that's not what I'm ashamed about. I get back in my car and I'm driving home, and now it's ten oh three. I realize I'm looking at Google Maps. I'm searching my open now the keyword pizza. Don't enter my story, don't throw up my story. I see a thing for a coupon. Now. Look, I understand slices. Some of you live in places where this is your only option, so I'm not judging you. But I am a pizza aficionado. You know how I am with you pizza. I was so hungry for pizza, scary. I got a personal pan pizza from Dominoes. I'm so sorry my head. Isn't you tell me that I have to have my Brooklyn card revoked? What about you? Look at you? Look at yourself? His hiss? Where I went wrong? So I put in my zip code. I found the closest one because there were three instance. I concidentally ordered from the one in Newark, New Jersey, by a mistake, because it was a similar address I am. And so when I got to Dominoes, it said my order was read. It was not ready. Gonna come to your rescue right here. Hold on, hold on. I had to call the place in Newark, New Jersey and tell him even though my pizza was ready, I wasn't coming. Then I had to reorder my pizza so I may. I ordered it twice. I could have gotten away at that point, I could have left. I ordered it again, and I watched it go in the oven. I watched it go through a conveyor belt belt. I watched it come out of the conveyor belt. I watched him take it out the pan with like a pair of pliers, a pizza and pliers. He must have not had the regular thing to grab it. He had pliers, scary, and he cut the pizza out. He had to take a thing and cut it out of the pan. And then he popped it up in the air into the box and I ate it in the car. I feel dirty. I feel dirty and unclean and unholy, and I ate it. How are you going to make me feel better? Scary your penances? You need to go to Brooklyn and go to the three best pizza places and down a pie for the go this weekend. My wife is out of town. I may go Saturday. You're out of town this weekend. Otherwise i'd ask well, I may have to go to Brooklyn for the trifecta. You gotta gotta do it. I'm sorry, now get it. I'm sorry, Slices let you down. I'm gonna I'm gonna come to your rescue here. In Domino's defense, they do have a section called artisanal Pizza, which Brooklyn Slice. It's better than their regular pizzas, the papp pan pizza. I went for the coupon. Oh my god, what brody at that point, just cutting I should have gotten the large, extra large pulp style. The artisanal Brooklyn style pizza is not a coupon coupon. I june it out. I'm allowed to say medium cheeses eight, but I know I went for the pan pizza for nine. I did two topping pan pizza. I'm disgusted with myself. A right, I'll be better next week but I'll tell you what story. But I'm gonna take your advice and I'm gonna get really good pizza this weekend. Bro brocklay Boys, Not Brooklyn Brookla Boys. Brock Brookly
