Speaker 1: Starduf dat up Start Up Brooklyn by start Up Brooklyn buys start Data. They're making noise data up. Episode one. Yeah, we got the Brooke Boys podcast rolling you Smell You smell two hundred. I can almost smell two hundred. Oh yeah, and it's right, it's right, it's right. Because of this awful weather. Jeez, we're in the middle of a heatwave right now in the northeast. Yeah, hundred five degrees with the heat index. Now, now, you guys listening, some of you may live in a part of the country like Arizona, where a hundred and five is like that's winter man, Florida, like, get little breeze. I'm fine here in the in our area, in the New York, New Jersey area, that's a big deal. We're not used to that. That's terrible. That's terrible. It's brutal. I went outside to walk the dogs and I just after like thirty seconds and like, guys, be in the house. Just be in the house. I don't care at this point, I gotta get back in the house. Oh my god. Yeah, So your dogs don't even want to go out there, they don't want to go out and uh, you if you hear a little bit of a hum in the background. So I'm in the basement studio and I'm not allowed to turn the air conditioning off. I could tell it's fine, it's fine. But here's the thing. So, um, I am diagonally across from where I normally have my little student, my little table and microphone set up and boom arm. So I'm over by the storage racks of photographs and I'm near the air hockey machine, their hockey table. It's fine, no, and I'm diagonal, so I'm like, I'm in a little corner of the room and like, hey, listen to this. These are like plastic storage containers of photographs that I'm like up against. So I'm trying to stay as far away from the air conditioning as I can. But I can't say that it's working. It's okay, though we listen to It's to be expected this time of year. We're not in the studio. We should be in the studio. We're still not in the studio. We're doing this from each other's houses. And you know I did invite you here. You know, I have some beautiful microphones. I have some wonderful recording equipment. Six thousand, seven thirty five million billion. And why are we delayed tonight because why? Well, now what we're delayed because it's and I need to get plans to get out of here. I'm trying to make my I'm trying to make my way out. I'm going I'm visiting a castle this Sunday. I'm going to castle. You'll tell me the castle in a minute. What do you banging against the microphone? What are you doing? No? No, the phone the phone dropped and I had something on the phone I wanted to read. No, you have to admit that you couldn't connect your system to the system. The systems this. It took a couple of minutes this week. Yeah, you had a little little problem with you did It was a little bit. But we're good. Now we're back. So out the hum is we always have new listeners. And the new listeners Michael, what is that hum in the background? So, speaking of new listeners, I wanted to start off by saying hello to someone who may not hear this for another year, and that's Mike South made m a y d at Mike South made on Twitter seven Nope, at David Brody. You guys are great on the Walkers and Talkers podcast, meaning me and my co host Jamie from light f M, New York. We do the Walking Dead podcast Walkers and Talkers. But now, since we're all waiting for the new season to begin of The Walking Dead, I figured, hey, why not become a fan of the Brooklyn Boys. And so it begins listening to your podcast now episode. So we'll see in a year, Yeah, you'll email us that you finally heard your shout out one of those the other day where someone finally heard their shout out after six months. They're like, oh my god, I find caught up. I had no idea you shouting me out. Crazy. It happens, Well, it happens, But so listen. Mike could be breaking the rules and listening to this podcast episode first, but I was pretty specific. So Mike, let's go to zero. Let's you know, but we we got we got a Walkers and Talkers fan in our way. I love that I've had about that. I've converted a couple of speaking volumes fans along the way, and I'm sure that both of us have cum converted a lot of big show fans to this. No. I hope so, and hopefully we have converted some of our fans to the Big Show because I know that it works in both directions, right, and we're not the big show. We don't have a show, So that's true. Make sure you listen to a big show. Absolutely the big show, elvist Rand Show to put foot on the table. Yeah, you know, and being that it is going to be a hundred and five degrees. I just have a question for pet owners like yourself. When your dogs do go outside, do do they not instantly? Do they not like? No? No, do they not like the heat on on their paws? Do they go out? No? They're not walking on sand, dude, they're walking on grass. No, But if they're walking on concrete like asphalt, I'm talking about where we're from booking, I would assume if they walked on them, right, So I walk them on the We have a lawn, right that, So we walk them on the grass. And then I didn't let them walk on the on the drive way because I knew it would be hot, so I I let them do like quickly go to do that night, brought him back in the house. Doom a thing, Let me doom a thing. You're gonna do that thing? They did that thing and that was it. They ran back. Kid. Now I'm planning. I'm planning pools, getting a dog, I'm planning pools. I'm planning pools. I'm planning on staying. I'll do. I'll just live for the moment. I live for them. My pools broken. Sorry, what bullshit's broken? It'll forever, forever be broken. You know what, dude, fuck you. People think that we're such great friends. This shows that we're not great friends because you have not once invited me to your house, into your pool. On a second, hold on, if anything is an indication of not great friends. You go to baseball stadiums without me, and that's my thing, So let's not. Let's not throw stones, my friend. But you have a wife and kids. You can't get away from your family. I can get away. I can get away because I live by myself and I don't answer to anyone, so I can just leave. Yes, you went with one single guy and two divorce dudes. It's not a good look. I did. I did, okay, um um, I got sent shopping over the weekend. Actually, what's today? Today's we Wednesday? We're doing this, So I went. I'm on Monday, I'm not even on the weekend I went. I went on Monday, two Coals. You know, I'm a fan of Expect great things. Yeah, so I went to actually to return some things because they had a sale on bathing suits, and you know, the summer's half over, roughly a little over, and so you get the discounts on the bathing suits. So I ordered like four or five and they sent instead of two different colors, they sent one the same color twice. It's how to go back and return, and that's fine. As the parking lot. When I got there, the front, I don't know, it's like, uh, three rows that line up with the front of Coals, the big strip mall. So there's lots of rows, but three of them line up with the entrance. Like if you wanted a park at Coals, you go to one of the three rows that are close to the entrance. And I noticed that the first three to four or five spots in each rower mostly empty from a distance, So I go, oh cake, alright, yeah, so I figured, right, well, a couple of them have to be handicapped spots, but after that, you know they're not gonna have forty because it's he stopped right equipment crapping out on you. Why don't you repeat that sentence again? What craft out? What are you talking about? Piped out? The listeners heard it, just to repeat your last sentence because it went computer. Maybe that's your system. I didn't hear it. Nope, continue, So I'm thinking maybe there's like thirty spots that are mostly empty that have signs in front of them. I'm like, they can't all be handicapped signs, so I'll it's great, I'll get a good spot. So here's where it gets interesting. Some of the signs, and I'm gonna post these on my Instagram. Some of them say coals drive up and pop your trunk. Tap I'm here in your pickup email or pick up pass text, and we'll bring your order out. These are purple signs. Don't park in those spots, okay. Then there are in signs that say reserved for calls online pickup customers, don't park that don't park. Then there are multi colored signs. Multi colored that's say reserve parking for great associates. Great associates. That means those are people that have been recognized by the team because they did great work that month and they get they get part customers. Well, first of all, I guess there were no great employees that month because the spots were empty. So I guess they didn't. I mean, you think that they'd be filled. So, first of all, no great employees working at dis calls exactly because there's nobody parked there. Number two, how many different categories of spots do you have to have where I can't park? Well, I equate this to loading the airplane, because when I'm sitting there waiting to get on, and even though I'm Group one or two, which is one of you know, like oh I pay for that, you know, privilege right to get to the glory board the plane first, you know, the first they go group one to five. Right before they even call group one, they say they have like eleven groups that go before that. It's latinum, ely super platinum parents, you know, a families traveling with young kids, people who need assistant to get on the plane, people who are part of the Polaris Club, who was part of the Star Alliance, this and that. Then the military, Okay, I expect that. Lots of love to you and thank you for your services. Anytime and anytime a military guy walks through services. Well, thank you for your service. But my favorite part is when they walk through, you know the military call. Every they walk onto the plane, everybody gives them a big ground of applause. You know, that's nice, it's great. However, rarely do they ever have people that cut the line and go ahead. It's like you're delaying this all these categories. You're calling all these categories and no one's approaching the desk. It's almost like a waste of breath. So they just wanna, you know, what they should do. They should call all special categories like Platinum, Elite, super dupers and this way you can then you go up there you go which which are you? You go on? Military go ahead, like, but to call all categories. They do that Broadway shows and they wait to get like you have to get row A and you get there and you learn you throw yeah, because there's now a double A, a double B and double C and double D and double E. They put extra rows in the front. Yes, so you think like I'm in row one, No you're not. That's far in. That's far into a lot of people. It's so true if you're not from here, and then you decided to go to if if you go to should they do it the Majestic Theater and wherever it was it Detroit or whatever, any old theaters they old timey theaters, right, So for some reason they start with double letters. So site I'm like, oh my god, I got I got row oh. And Radio City, Radio City Music Hall, this Radio City Music Hall, Lady Gaga Concert. I'm like, yeah, I'm in row oh. But first, but little did I know that at Radio City it starts with a A B, B C C. They gotta go to the whole alphabet. First, row oh is after the ZZ and then it's A B C D. I'm holding in the back of the floor. I'm like, what the fox row zero, I'm sitting up against the soundboard. You got row? Oh, No, that's what your guy. That's so that's a then home depot. So the home depot I go to used to have a row that was parallel, right, so you if you parked in the front row, you were facing the front of the store. Okay, and then it's like, uh, like a sidewalks you can't like, so you park at the at the curb part you go you walk across side, walk across the street into the home deepot okay, And they were like, I don't know, fifteen spots, well, like eight of them now are you can't talk there? So one of them used to be for truck rental. Now four of them and for truck rental because even though there's only two trucks, they have to leave two or three spots open for truck returns in case someone returns the truck. Then this pick up online order curbside delivery. Right, you didn't. You can't park anywhere, so it's all open spots. You want to hear something even worse, Uh, they're doing that in in your good old favorite New York City five boroughs now where there. First of all, they're creating bike lanes. So now the bicycle lanes. So now now the streets are narrowed. Now you have one less lane in every fucking street in the most congested city in America. No, thank you. And then you got all the Remember we were granted and grandfathered in all these outdoor dining constructions that have taken up. That's taken up fifty of the parking spaces, the spaces that are there. And even worse, they're adding city bike racks and those City bike racks take up parkings faces, so there is there is as few few parking spaces as humanly possible in New York City. Right now there is the lowest number of spots ever. Good luck parking in New York City. They're almost deterring you. If you've ever been to Chicago, Chicago has avenues and side streets like what we do. We have the big avenues that go up in north south and in the side streets to go east west. But Chicago burned down the big the big Chicago fire ms Leary's cow right. They rebuilt Chicago, and my guess is they did it better because their side streets are wide. The side streets are wide. Our side streets are one lane, so if you want to go east to west and one lane and the up down streets, the north south avenues are maybe three lanes in some places maybe four on the outskirts of like on the far west avenues there a little wider, but in the middle. It was built, you know, in the hundreds, and then cars came around. They were like, oh, we don't need a couple lot of lanes. A couple of lanes and be enough. So we only have like three lanes in the busiest city in America. They built him for horse and buggy, and they built this city on rock and roll, but not for cars. So now no offense bike riders, but plenty of offense. Your asses come by once an hour on a bike, and we have to lose a third of the street almost. So you're gonna have a little bike lane so you can be safe. In the old days, we drove on the sidewalk or dodged the cars in the wrong direction, right coming traffic. You want to ride a bike, go to the east side of the West Side where his bike paths. Right in Brooklyn, what do you do? You rode your bike all the way down to the water where there was a bike path by the Verrizanto Bridge, and you rode your bike on the bike path, or you rode in the street and your dodge cars. But to take up the biggest city and decide, oh, we're gonna just make bi hope. Whoever the air of New York is. He's like an anti bike guy. Father was killed by a bicycle and he's, Wow, Brody is cutting out something awful. I didn't I wish I could have heard that story. That would have been great to hear that story. Just keep cutting out. So so you were saying the mayor of New York City, Oh wow, you are delayed. I hope the next mayor can't. I'm not does. There's no indication to be being delayed. I can hear it. I can hear myself coming back to me three seconds later. That's maybe the listeners heard that I'm gonna lower. I'm gonna lower the gain. Hold on that. That right there is the listener Brodie hearing me in his headphones, so he has to respond to me after he hears that. No, I'm responding to this. Okay, might you hear something delay the more scary. Don't just answer me. You know you're delayed. You're delayed, all right, let me let me reboot, hold on, reboot that all right? All right? In the meantime, have you scored a commercial? Ye, don't do that, like in real life. Don't do that because I'm in the middle of a thing. Well that's okay. Well we'll pick it up because we had it. We had to. We're twelve minutes and already. Come on, man, so listen. So back to bike, back to bike lanes. Talk about the still Mayor Adams hate spikes so much like maybe his grandfather was run over by a bike and killed. That kind of hatred for bikes where he will personally paint over the bike lanes that the last mayor decided was a good idea. I know, it's like, oh, it's it's it's welcoming, it's good exercise. It keeps the streets safer for bike riders. I'm sorry. It did not increase riders cars. It did not increase ridership at all. Know, the same people with the bad bike shorts are going by with the little bike hats, like, look at me at my own lane. Then you wait twenty five minutes and you see it, Hey, look at me, come on lane. I'll tell you what. I was leaving the radio station the other day and uh were walking to my car, which is now in the middle of the street because the bike lane is between the curb and the parking. They've moved the parking, they moved the walking out. Yeah, so this way, if you if you open up the passenger side door, your door gets clipped by on by by cars coming at you because you're you're in the lane. It's depending on which side you're on right. Yeah. So anyway, so I walk into my car and I'm walking in. I guess I'm working on the sidewalk, but then I kind of crossed the bike lane to get to my car door. Did you follow visually as I'm walking into the bike lane, I swear to you. I walk into the bike lane and then I walked to my the next lane where my car door is, and as I'm stepping over, a guy comes by on a bike, whizzes by me, goes, you're in the fucking point lane, dude, get out of the fucking point lane, like like he was whizzing by and like twenty fifteen miles an hour whenever it was. And I'm like, oh, yeah, you're smart ass. You're fucking gonna curse me out as you're going fifteen mile an hour and I'm on foot like I'm gonna chase after you. There's no way you can whizzing past like that. You're cursing at me. First of all, I know sc Jones would have run. Hercules. What hercules, I mean the flash. They're all strong, they all run. I'm not known for his speed, by the way, No, no, Mercury was all right, the flash whatever, that man that really, all of a sudden, they're empowered because we got a bike lane. Yeah, not a fan of the bike lane. I'm a fan of putting like strips of nails in the No. I'm kidding though. Now I just feel like there's too many bike lanes, like you said, in addition to the restaurants putting tables on the street, and they're building train cars of of of outdoor dining like permanent structures where you could put food and people and tables inside the structure that takes up a lot of space. Yes, well you saw Rosanna Scotto, who's a New York personality. She's on a Today show. Most of you guys know she is. Her family has an Italian restaurant, uh Fresco by Scotto, amazing food and rolling like Italian gardens outside the restaurant with olive trees. It looks like you're, like, I guess like sicily when you're sitting outside like it's unbelievable. But you can't drive, Nope, which they don't want us to do. They don't if you live in a big city, they don't want you to drive. Hell, no, you want to drive to drive to turn you now more than ever. All Right, we'll get off our soapbox on this one. Do you know there's people listening ridding their bikes right now? Like, what the funk are these guys talking about? It promotes exercise? Yeah, yeah, it's being green, being green alright, alright, carpet emissions come on now? All right, so we have Okay, so we had a couple of things going on. You you mentioned something to me that was kind of disturbing. Uh, You're like, hey, do we talk about this on the podcast? Just do anything? Which one was yet? No? Which one was it? It was? Was it antiques? Antique scamp? Ye? All right? So I've got a lot of antiques to sell for my mom. Right. So she's got just tons of antiques. Her father was an antique dealer. She was saying, the plush she has old stuff. She has old records and but I'll get into him right now. The thing is about records. Right. So there's a room in the back of my mom's house. It's like a Florida room, and it's it's stuffed that she never unpacked when she moved from Brooklyn, Right, So this is boxes in there. We don't use the room because the boxes in there. So I opened the boxes a few weeks ago. I'm like, oh, what's in these boxes? Stereo equipment that was very popular in the in the eighties. Get out what kind of stereo equipment San Sui like was top of the lineback in the day. I got a Fisher I don't want to bore. Everybody doesn't understand this, doesn't care, but I have a Fisher ever from the from up tube tube right from the from the sixties. That's worth like five hundred bucks. I'm getting hard, I know you are. I'm sorry, Fether. He's talking tech to me. He's talking, he's talking geek and radio. So I'm looking through the records, right, and she's got hundreds of forty five, hundreds and hundreds and little plastics, the small ones. And then then then she's got like, you know, LP's albums, torns of albums from my father, cases of albums. And because my parents are older than we are, they've got they have seventy eights, right, I love no seventy eight If if you guys don't know those numbers, I mean it means RPMs how many times the record spins in a minute. And it's not based on size, because the forty five spin more than the thirty threes, but the seventy eights are sort of in the middle and size. They're a little smaller than LP and and they're seventy eight and they spin the fastest. They spin really fast, right, So I've got I've got a couple of crates of those from when my father was younger, he bought records. They were seventy eights. So there's a place in the mall where I get my hair cut, and it says we buy antiques, we buy records and jewelry and coins, all kinds of stuff. So I walk in and I and uh I. I go to the back where the records are, and they're selling classic albums from the sixties, seventies, eighties for like twenty thirty a piece. So I'm like, all right, well, I understand as a markup, so maybe I maybe I can get like you know, if you get listen, I got a got hundreds of albums. If I try to sell every one of them individually in eBay, I'm I have time for that. And I know there are companies that will sell your stuff on eBay. I know all the options. I'm good. But I thought, you know what, maybe I can get ten bucks an album. I'll sell them, but you know, like take up of crates four albums. I hate this. I know what's gonna I'm so I want to punch the guy in the face already. So I said that a guy. Listen, I've got a ton of seventy eights and LPs, you know, from the sixties, having these in eighties, I see you selling them for a lot of money. They're they're in demand these days. I'll bring him by, but I gotta schlip him from my mom's house, which is like forty five minutes away. Ballpark, give you a ballpark? What are you? Uh? What are you paying peru? You know, per album? He's gonna low ball yours? Yeah, how how low can he go? So he says, uh, I said they're in milk crates. He says, oh, you get a lot of them. Yeah, they're in good shape. Yeah, he's not give you ten bucks. I go, oh, he says ten bucks a crate? What yeah, gives create? I know what, It's the best I could do. I know a crate holds like twenty three thirties something like that. Whatever, I go, what he says, if they're good, if they're like top of the line classic rock like The Who and led Zeppelin and they have the plastic go on, and I can give you like a bucket piece, a bucket piece. I said, you're selling them a threty dollars. Yeah, I know, but I got overhead. What I go, I pay rent? Okay, that that's irrelevant. You're gonna take this album from me for a dollar and set for thirty regardless of rent the markup on that holy shit? Right? Yeah? So then I'm like, oh, I got some some some glassware, different things, everything I have that he has that. I go, oh, I got things? Oh yeah, we be interested in knows great? What do you? How much would I give you? I give you a to tree dollars to Tree dollars which is New York, New Jersey area, for two or three dollars, sir, so I said, I guess. I walked out. What kind of scam? What kind of what? Nah? You know that happened to me with c DS? I tried to sell c d's nuts. That's what I told the guy as I walked down with my ship. I wasn't gonna pedal that stuff to him. So he can go make all money off of my bones. But but then you gotta look at the flip side of it, though, Brody, may I be the voice of levity here for a second levity or reason a reason? I don't know the other the other shoulder, whatever the shoulder, that's the devil, the devil, levities in the devil, right, the angel of the devil. Well, and actually that's a bad it's a bad analogy too. Let me just be a voice. Let me be a different voice coming from a different angle, showing me level headed. I suppose either way levels reasonable. What are you gonna What are you guys gonna do with this stuff? I mean you you came in because you want she wants to don't want to get I want to clear it out. I want to get rid of it. So okay, so you want to get rid of it. And so if the point is to get rid of it, if you got rid of it, for you still got rid of it, and you made seven times, I mean, where else are you can? As you just said, how are you gonna? I can sell three records right on my own time on eBay, right and get seven He's got the time for that. I do if I'm making more money, you don't have the time for that. This is we're going through this right now with my you know, my aunt Millie who passed away. My sister is cleaning out. My sister's cleaning out the house. And they got so many they got clothes on clothes, they've got all kinds of gadgets and things, and my and china and and untouched things like china like you know, like you know, silverware and pots and pans, and let me give it up. If it's actual silver, it's worth and it's not depression glass depression era is actually a thing that's worth like thousands of dollars, and it's not corning silva if it's silver silver. But my point is she's you know, the goodwill people whoever came by the guy you know, picked through everything, looked at it and goes, I'll give you a hundred dollars for all of this, and literally like unloaded entire closet for for all that's fine, take the hundred she did. She took the hundred dollars. But if a dollar with you three dollars, you might have told himself the original price on that ship was like thousands of dollars. Yeah, I know. When no one's gonna buy old aunt Millie's clothing, that's the problem unless you put him in a thrift shop shop. Yeah right, well you got you gotta donate it to you better off donating and take the tax for the rebates. Maybe that's what it is. It's tough, man. So what are you gonna end up doing here? You you walked out to one place, You're gonna try another one. Right now? There's people going, I'll buy him Brody. You know it's it's not led Zeppelin albums. Really, it's more like you know, streisand Diary, Madelo, Johnny mathis radio equipment. The radio equipment is good. Good. So I'll tell you a story about my father. Um, and a lot of dads are like this. My father would never buy the expensive thing. We discussed this on this podcast, right, so I talked I talked to you about that. But when it comes to electronics, right, but I talked to you about how East turned everything. Yes I did. Oh wait, no, no, no, well, well chances are people have not heard that, So why don't you just go ahead and tell that story? So so well, if I've done it on this podcast and the real quick. My father would never like want to spend like by the best thing the first time. Right, So I'm gonna use the example of like like a television set or or like the San Su receiver, which is like the giant thing the radio that powers the CD player, the CAT player, everything else. Right, it's the app basis the audio. Right. So he would go in and buy, like on a Scalo one to ten, he would buy the six. Right. He'd bring the six TV home and go, you know, it's all right, but boy, the seven, the seven's got a better remote, you know, and it's got it's got speakers on the side. And it would tell my mom, you know what, it's only thirty dollars or more, and she go, right, for thirty dollars, will get the speakers. It's fine. He'd bring the six back at the seven, he and but they would know he was coming back. They knew he was coming back because he did all the time. He would bring the seven back, and he's setting up in the living room and he's getting his chair, and he'd like, look at seven, that's good boy, And and he would like read up on the next one, like the consumers magazines with the reviews of the products right before the internet. The eight the eights like forty bucks, more for forty but my mom would go for forty bucks, go get the one with the biggest screen and the and the amplifier, and go get the course. And then he would rather than get the eight. At that point he's got car blanch. He'd come back with the nine. He go from seven to nine, he goes, well, Mom already approved for forty. So I added thirty out of my own policy. And if that was his only thing that he you know, splurged holes in it the couch and have holes in it. But we had the best TV we could afford, and the best VC whatever a DVD player, but he would never go buy it. When it came to electronics, that thing that too. Yeah, But my point is the san Sui, which was the big company like Samsung Phones is now. San Sui was one of the big stereo producing companies back in the in the in the eighties, right, so he what the I think? Somehow we ended up with like after like six returns and it sounded great for its day, but now I don't know if anybody wants it is it's but I have the instruction manual like he kept everything. So yeah, that was himst with Berdie and scary what I've got script you sent me. I love this Brodie Brodie Like here, we're gonna we're gonna act something out. We'll do some role play. Oh look all right, let me pull let me pull it up. And I'm sitting here thinking, like, all right, I'll I guess I'll get into character for you. You want me to play the part of the mean old customer service crusty, You're gonna be okay. So here's here's what this is. This is not a customer service thing. So um I got from my phone company. I don't know. We don't have to mention the phone company. From my cell phone company. They had a deal if you switch to unlimited plan a unlimited data, you get a free bundle of Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, which I love, and Hulu with ads. Now Hulu without ads is five nine a month more to get no no commercials. We we currently had all three of those services, but we were paying I think for Hulu and no ads ninety nine eleven ninety nine for Hulu. We're paying for Disney Plus and I think we got free ESPN plus whatever, so we had a bundle. But now the wireless company says, oh, you know, we'll give you the bundle for free, but if you want the Hulu and no ads or you gotta do is pay five ninety nine a month, like, oh, that's that's a much better deal on the pand now that's fine. So the wireless company, I'm gonna I'm gonna call him V. V says. V says, says, right, it could be any could be any Comme Mobile, you don't know. I'm gonna be V Mobile, all right. So V says, all you gotta do is is agreed to this. Will send you a link. Click the link, sign up for the new bundle, and then cancel your old bundle. Great, and then once you can't the old bundle US answer the phone, No, not yet yet. So here's the problem. I call Hulu. Hulu tells me a different story and says that V has to handle the rebate the nine. V tells me, Hulu's gonna give me the rebate. They keep hunting the ball. So I cancel the old bundle. I get the new bundle with the Hulu it adds and my family is like, Dad, let's go with the adds, let's get rid of them, pay the five ninety nine. Nobody wants to tell me how to get the five night off. So I spend the whole day yesterday on the phone and going back and forth between Hulu and V And by the time I realized that I need to call V again, it's after seven o'clock. And guess what, they don't answer the phone. The phone company doesn't answer the phone at seven o'clock. So I get the chat with me, you know, a little pop up chat. Now, I do want to say something before we get to the script. When you call this particular wireless company, right, the first thing it says is hello David, right, like a computer voice, because it has your number and your name and your account. But instead of like saying Hey David, it's hello David, David, it's like what's his name? No? No, No, who's the actor? Know? Who's the actor? H Christopher Walking? Hello David? Right like that? Okay, So then they say are you calling? We see that you have a home phone with V. Is that what you're calling about? No? No, I've I've actually been through that. I think everyone listening has been through that. Why v I called the wireless I'm not calling but something. Okay, here's that you're not considering. The stupid fact is a lot of America is stupid. So they're calling a wireless company for their landline and other ship. So they have to know they have to cross reference. Not assuming you're smart from the get I know. So they tell me that it's always the new law is the way time is longer than normal. And now while I'm driving, they say, we're sending you a text message so that you can chat with an automated chat system. Perfect, because that's exactly service. But and if you click it. The minute you click it, the phone disconnects. They say, once you're right, okay, So I ignore that. Then they send me another text. They say, we are now sending you a text so you can speak to a live text multiple okay, wait tell okay, it's time for another commercial break. Continue to stop it. Okay. So I I log on. You're the agent, right and you know the agents not from around here, and they're reading a script. Okay, so you're gonna be the agent and I'm but this is all texts is to read. What I'm gonna read what I'm gonna put. I'm gonna put some feeling into it, Okay, So start off with agent Hi. There. I appreciate you for waiting. This is Ruby bullshit, your Wireless Live representative. I am happy to assist you. I'm a computer to who do I have the pleasure of chatting with? Hi? How do I upgrade my free Hulu from the wireless bundle to the five ninety nine and free version? Hulu told me you guys, you guys told me Hulu dot com. What do I do? I can surely assist you with that. Okay, then please assist me. What do I do? Hello? Visit Hulu sign up page. Sign up for Hulu with the same email address you're using for your Disney Bundle through us. Your Hulu bill will be credited for the Disney bundle. Then re enroll in Disney. I did re enroll. I have the entire bundle from you, eies. How do I just pay the five nine to upgrade? Please answer my actual question, thank you. Hulu is already activated, but with ads? Do you already have the Hulu no ads? Oh my god? That was my first question and my third question. I just told you, how do I upgrade the free Hulu to the no AD Hulu for five nine. You need to sign up for Hulu no ads. Have you done this yet? Oh? My god? Are you reading anything I'm typing? Should I type slower? If you already did the steps I have provided, then you should have Hulu no ADS already and your Hulu bill will be credited for the Disney bundle. Who will credit my account? We will. I can't cancel that I canceled my old bundle. I signed up for your bundle. I activated all three services and now have Hulu with ADS. I want to upgrade Hulu with no ADS for five ninety nine. I am not referring to your old bundle or old subscription either, am I? In fact, I just typed that I canceled my old bundle. I explained everything just now. Yes, you need to go with Hulu and upgrade it to Hulu add free. As we only offer Disney bundle. Hulu will again not you. Hulu will not allow me to go back and upgrade because it says no I have hu Hulu will Hulu will not allow me to go back an upgrade because it says I have Hulu. Are you guys get Hulu bundle from Hulu and as we are not associating with Hulu subscriptions, so we have less access to credit the amount. So if you have no access to credit me, how will you be crediting me? You just told me you were gonna send me to Hulu, would have to credit you. Wait a minute, your own website says you credit me. In fact, you just told me a few sentences ago you credit me. So what will happen is that you will just receive it for the difference on your Hulu bill, a credit from who from us? You just said Hulo credits me. It shows that we offer Hulu and Hulu ad free but with cost of five ninety nine, not for free, but we only offer Hulu service. Somebody's sucking with you at this point. Somebody is fucking with you on yes, how do I pay the five ninety nine? That is what I keep asking you. Is there anything else I can help you with? Dude? You're arguing with the bot. Okay, it's come down to that in your life. Look at your sad, sorry, life. You're arguing with a fucking bot. You know what I wouldn't have I would have given up a long time ago. I can't believe you've engaged in this much conversation because it wasn't really a bot. It was it was really responding okay when I really yeah. But after after the third reply, you realized this person was less than human. You know what I did was I opened up another houser on my computer and I contacted a different chat person and they were very helpful, and I did have to call Hulu. And when I called Hulu, you know what they said, We're terribly sorry for eyes. V V has been misinforming people about this bundle thing since it started. She said, So I know all about their app, and she walked me through their app what to do, Hulu's app what to do? Hooked me up in like seven minutes. Time. Was fantastic because so many people were getting wrong information from the v company. They don't have their ship together. Many don't. They do not. I love their service, don't get me wrong. I love the phone. The customer service, yeah, I was, well, the customer services a little is a little off. We'll just say that. We'll say that, all right, let's reach some email because we've been lacking in that department and uh, and then we'll talk about some more stuff right, challenge like, it's mail time. Welcome you've got mail? Of course, you could always email us at the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. We welcome all types of informs of email, uh, including those in the d M s, But unfortunately we have so many accounts at this point, Brody, I don't know how we can coalate all of it into one space. We got Facebook messengers going off, people like why did you read my Twitter d M from from March? I don't. I don't know how we can get to that, but you know, if is there a way? Is there or we're just gonna have to just keep up with it as we go left to keep up with it? Also, how many syllables are in colate colate, colateklate? I say three syllable. It's not it's just too anyway, So Mario Rodriguez wrote, Hey guys, I love the show. Came across this picture on my Facebook feed and Brody would be the first person that came to mind when I saw it. Longtime listener, and remember the episode in which Brody hated dil See the picture attached. This is a carton of pilk. It looks like milk. But it's green and it's spelled pilk. And what does it say? It's dil pickle milk. Good. Now, I cannot believe that this is a real product, but I think it is. I think it's like the fake mayonnaise, the monster and injury drink? Would you drink? First of all, I wouldn't. I love dil you know that? But yeah, but I would not drink pilk. Would you drink pilk? Oh? My god? What's the purpose is? It doesn't have like a nutritional benefit? Uh? Not no, not doing it. No, it's it's it's it's gotta be fake. Um. All right. So also Adam Zero wrote to us, Hey, guys, Scamboni here and Grammar Police received some off the wall emails scammers trying to get money from me. This one takes the cake. Would you believe? Who would believe this? The spelling and comprehensions, and the spelling and comprehension is repulsive. Not only that, but if I were to fall for it, where would I even send this money that they're looking for? Uh? And it's basically someone who emailed and saying to Adam, hey, Adam. Possibly at first this notice is going to shock you, but it comes as no surprise when you visit adult websites. Do not be astounded and infecting your device and at the fact that someone can switch on your camera and shoot your close relationship with your hand. How your hand feels still not tired of your hand fucking. The guidelines are plain and simple. After satisfying my demands, you will never see me again. You make payment to me, and I will not send your intimate video tape to your contacts from electronic mail or upload it on the net. And then he gives his b his bitcoin wallet fair price eleven dollars and fifty cents US dollars. I will fulfill my promise. If you ignore my claims, you can turn to anyone you wish, but nobody is gonna help you. I Reckon, Reckon from the South, are gonna be enough for addressing the monetary issue. I will be informed when you open it. Do not try to contact me. This address will be deleted after emailing the text this This email will self destruct intense seconds. What the actual funk? This person is actually trying to scan this guy? He assuming that because he's a guy. He goes to point sites Adam, that was great to give a couple. Yeah, so this is an email I got as a Valiant shopper. You are Amazon dot Com. As a valued shopper, you are now eligible to earn a thousand dollar Amazon gift card for responding to a three question survey to improve online customer experience. To questionnaire only takes a couple of minutes, but it's only available for a limited time. Please complete by following the link below. Yeah, um, that's from Matt Williams. Hey, Matt Williams, I don't believe you. That's this Campony Chris riv At, Tuna, Underscore, Melt, Underscore TM first handle. First off, excuse my writing as I'm currently walking my dog and make it distracted from having to pick up poop and make a mistake at my message. I just wanted to say that I'm an avid listener of The Big Show. I was so upset when you all took your two week vacation. How dare you all take time to relax? Smiley face, I've already been serial killers and thought to myself, what the hell am I going to listen to? So I decided to give the Brooklyn Boys a chance, and I'm so glad. I did well. First of all, Um, if if you went to Serial Killers first after the Big Show, that's fine. They're a great podcast. Although I do have beef with them. We'll get to that in a minute. Um. That means they're promoting themselves better. We got to do a better job. We're much older, established podcast. But anyway, so I decided to give the Brooklyn Boys a chance, and I'm so a lot of oh glad I did. So. I'm on episode thirty two now and I have to say I'm I'm so glad the Big Show one on vacation. Otherwise I would never have given you guys a chance to an amount. We appreciate that. That's very kind. Nurse D three and three slid into our d M s at the Brooklyn Boys on Instagram. I was just listening to episode and started cracking up when you guys were talking about the bull that escaped. I live about five minutes from where this happened, and it's been the talk of the town for weeks. There are still some signs on Sunrise Highway. It's honestly hilarious at this point. I love the podcast, and thanks for all the last week after week, and there's a sign that's on the guess caution animal may be in road. She she shot this from her passenger seat of her car. Apparently, Barney the bull is still on the loose. Escaped from a Long Island farm after almost being was about to be slaughtered. Uh and it kind of knew, so it took to the streets, went into a cave. They tried to get a female cow and heat to try and get it out, and then they that would not woo Bonney the bull out of his safe space. So now we don't know where he went. He somehow escaped. I don't know how he got out of the cave. I thought it was like one sided. But uh, yeah, they're still looking for this bull. It's still not found. Brodie, that's amazing. How do you lose a bull? Somebody must have taken it in their house or slaughtered it like an ate the bull. I don't know. Jason Larson, you're a smartass sending pictures of Ali goldfish. Our you know, our web guru. She she posted some thirst trap pictures and I liked them, and he right again, and you liked them again. Of course I did. I liked them all and then he wrote the one time broody is okay with Scary's name being first ha ha, keep up the great work because liked by Scary Jones and so many others. So Ali Ali gold who was on our podcast last week, Um, she got a lot of people commenting on the thirst trap picture. That's Scary liked the bikini shots right. Well, she put up another bathing suit picture. Well, I don't know so much as mikkini or whatever it was. Maybe it's two pieces right, And a bunch of people liked it and said, I'm just here to see when Scary likes it. They had gotten there before you and you hadn't liked it yet. And most of the comments on Ali's picture at Ali Goldfish a l l I E. We're like, hey, I got here before Scary, Scary hasn't liked it yet. And then once you liked the people like hey liked it, Scary liked it. Jane Jane Miss Miss Hello Kitty three also slid into the d M said love you guys listening to the show in order and steak Dinner came up and reminded me of Jerry and Bania arguing about dinner at Mindy's. I think was that Jerry, Yes, the salad is super salad's not a meal. I think that was it. And they were looking at the photo that we took a couple of years ago with our friends at Delmonico Steakhouse, the night that I repaid you the favor and gave you the free State dinner. You didn't give me anything. Proof is right there on the table, folks. It's in the picture, in the picture at the Brooklyn Boys, it's there. I got a couple of things. Yeah. Patricia Jenkins Uh and daniel Sorrow agreed with me on the Downy spray bottle issue from a couple of weeks ago. Patricia wrote, I feel David Brody's pain with the Downey's. She added any Downey spray bottle issue. I had a few spray bottles from cleaning products recently that are horribly used. One of them you pull the trigger to spray and you have to pull it back out to spray again. Sorry, Scary Jones and Danielle wrote, Scary referred you to a psychologist over the Downey rant. I would suggest couples therapy for the two of you as another option, but seriously, fuck you Downey, all right. I also my I wanted to say, my major fail of the week goes to uh. I don't even want to say her name because I don't know. I don't know who she is, but we put up it was Elvis Duran on social media. I think put up a picture of Christina Applegate, great actress who a few years ago survived breast cancer, and now she's been diagnosed with MS okay for a few months now. She's a few months ago she was diagnosed. So it's a picture of Christine Applegate, says Christine Applegate, and everybody is sending prayers for Christine Applegate. Love Christina Applegate. I'm saying Christina. By the way, it's my broken accent. So she wrote first breast cancer. Now this Jenny Garth is a strong woman for sure. Oh my god, they thought it was Jenny Garth in the picture. Oh no, they obviously didn't read the caption. People, they just look at pictures. They don't read captions. That's correct. Oh god, we're so simps. Such a bunch of Simps's hold on nuts. Not what a simp as a simple is when you you you thirst for someone, when you simp, not necessarily a simp as a simpleton. So when you simp, that means you're you're you're infatuated with somebody. You're like a love slave, You're you're simping. Come on, man, all right, you got Notice Things podcast. I had one more email. You cut me off with the with the catch we took a break. We've been come by the way people just everybody knows, Um, we've been you know, we've been told by corporate that we need to take our breaks on time. So that that was that. Well, sorry, sometimes we're gonna get cut off. I'm about on time, but roughly. Yeah, okay, So this comes from r k H six nine eight. I apologize. I screenshot at this and I don't have your name, so forget me. Good morning, David Brody. I don't know if you remember me, but we chatted a few months back about my upcoming New Oak City trip and I wanted to give you some updates. We went to the Seinfeld Restaurant for breakfast. Um, that's not really a thing like Tom's restaurant on the Upper West Side. They just used the word restaurant from the sign, but they didn't use the inside the cheers like Cheers in Boston, not sign on Finch right. The sign outside has nothing to do with what goes on inside, does not look like the set at all. But then I hope you had a good breakfast, but it's unrelated to the show at all. Anyway, we went to the Seinfeld Restaurant for breakfast yesterday and then in the evening went to the Gotham Comedy Club. Gotham Comedy Club is a really good comedy club. I think it's a twenty second street street on the West Side. I performed there a couple of times back in the day. I went to the Gotham Comedy Club where, to my surprise, Michael Robberport got on stage and so and performed. Had no idea we'd be seeing him. In fact, if it weren't for the Brooklyn West podcast, I would never have heard of him anyway. Well, happy Wednee with their introduction into Michael. Yeah, by the way, he's his new season of A Typical is out. If you want to watch that here, it's very good. I got I almost got super scambonid so uh, if you got the Scamboni jingle, I got Coople doing Scamboni. Scamboni has been a common theme to this entire episode. You noticed that with a lot of scamboni. But these are like official scambonies. Now, oh yeah, scam so I did the antique scamboni. But this is like, there's two scambonies. I want to point out. One of them is evolving soda. Now, thankfully diet coke is diet coke, no problem, okay, because diet coke is an institution of diet soda as his diet pepsi. And they created coke zero and pepsi zero because they didn't want to change diapepsi diet coke, and those are designed to taste like real coke, right, like diet coke doesn't taste like coke zero is designed taste like look coke. So, just as a side note to the scamboni and you guys, if you drink coke zero, they they're pulling that bullshit new improved flavor, New improved flavor. All that does is just try and sell more soda. Well doing much right, No, they tweaked the flavor. Yes, the cans used to be black and red, like a pinkish red, and now they're pinkish, no black. But so that's how you know you've got the new improved flavor. It's the new cases that the new cases haven't changed and stilled the black cases like the cans come in, right, they haven't changed that the two lead bottles of sodat so you don't know what you until you rip open the case. Well, here's the thing. So my wife and one of my kids, they hate the new flavor. Of course they do. Of course nobody likes exactly. I was just gonna say, nobody likes. No one's gonna run out and buy more of it because you made the flavor a little bit different. Either they like it or they don't. Okay. And if it's supposed to tastes like coke, you didn't change the flavor coke? What are you changing the flavor Coke zero four? Okay? That never worked, New Coke one of the biggest flops in history of marketing. Stop that. Okay. So I go to the store now and I have to go like open the flap of every case of soda looking for the last remaining black and red hands. Because the kids like that. They'd like to have the cans on the car to take to school or whatever wherever they're going. They don't want to lead the bottles so I have to go to to all the grocery stores and Target. And I noticed now that the people who fill the shelves aren't rotating them, so the old ones are in the back, which, by the way, shame on them. But that's just pure laziness. So I opened up the flaps on like a hundred cases of soda just enough I can see the can color, right, So that's part one of the scam, which which backfired on me yesterday you were on the phone with me when in my garage, I bumped into one of the cases and if fell off the rack, because if the lid was closed, it fell down, and the cans were rolling out of the box. Few of them exploded. Two of them exploded all over everything. So the can, the illuminum part of the bottom like like yubbled up absolutely. So I was finding soda on things for hours, like over by the light switch, over by the Oh no, you lost your discounts, your discount No, there's no rebates on I don't take the cans back movement. That's not the scam, though, that's part one the scam. New improved flavor. It's improved to whose taste. So if you if you hate the new Coke zero and by the way, not a sponsor. Go ahead and tweet us and let us know well. And again a quick reminder, the word improved, improved flavor is that's an opinion. It's not a right. You can improve soap, but you're like the tide can be improved, but improved to you is not improved to make right. Also, you guys, please tweet at Scary Jones. I know you're tweeting David Brodie at the Brooklyn Boys, but please tweet Scary Jones because some of your tweets are fantastic. You're like, tell Scary no, please include them in the tweet. I don't see. I don't see some of them. Right. So here's reads where the scam comes in. Remember when sprite diet Sprite became Sprite zero. They think they're fooling people but taking the word diet out. Well, now every other soda is no longer diet. So it's Ruby zero, it's sun Kiss zero, it's all zeros now. Well, because I guess diet is shown to be a negative word in their research. Yeah, they've had diet soda now since the seventies. They had round tables they've done all kinds of tests to show that. Don't use the word diet, right, So what sprite was Sprite zero used to be it was zero calories, but all the other ones now are zero sugar. So they want to be like, we don't have the bad stuff. But what they're not telling you is it's diet and it has all the chemicals that's substitute for sugar. So they're all zero now. So I'm just that's that's just one of these that you guys that that's the new thing. So they the only one that's left is really diet coke, right, Diet Pepsi's right, that have the word dieting. Else has There's no diet Sprite. There's no diet Dr Pepper, right, that's right, Diepeper. Actually that was still Pepper. Is still diet Dr Pepper. I think I don't think it's gone zero yet. And I got the Diet Dr Pepper cream soda Dr Pepper mix, so good if you can find it. It's not in every store. It's hard to find, but we found it. It's in one shop, right, but not the other two. You have to go to the one shop right that has it. How weird is that like the manager ordism. The other managers don't know them. I know it's weird shop writes them some consistency shop. Right, let's go. Okay, here's the other scam. Scary. You're gonna think this is a brilliant scam. And if it didn't happen to me, I would think it was brilliant. My wife thought it was brilliant when I told her, but I almost got ripped off. So I'm in CVS. They're not the scam problem. And you know they have eyeglasses over by the pharmacy department that have the rack of glasses. Yes, well you know I I wear like magni magnified readers, which read right, okay, only when it's dark. So I buy like, I don't know, three for three for twelve bucks on Amazon, decent plastic glasses because I want to use them in the house, in the car. I'm not going out fancy. I don't wear like glasses to a cocktail party. I just throw them on, like in a dark restaurant. I throw on the readers. I put them on, I read it. I'll get done, okay done, And I see a hair. They're metal framed in the shape that I like, and I try them on. I go, oh, I look good in these glasses. I really like these very thin frame. I see the twenty six dollars. Now, I as you pay three for twelve, So six dollars is a lot of money. But they have the tag on them. They're made by Forster Brooks, which is a reputable eyeglass company. So TWI dollars. I buy them. I bring them home, I put them on, I show my wife because I really like those. That's a big step up from the plastic ones you're buying off Amazon. These really fit your face, they look finished it. I really like these. So I go, well, now I'm screwed because the twenty six dollars. If I want to get more of them, that's twenty six bucks every time. So I I google the model number and the name of the model and forced to Brooks. And the first thing that pops up is eBay. Of course Moneybay right, Amazon didn't have him. A couple of horkey jerky companies had him. And I see eBay. They're on self eBay. So I go on eBay and I see a person with feedback positive feedback, and she's selling them three. I go new in the original boxes, get hands on them, so I go. So I So, I'm like, I gotta have these. They're the color I want everything, So I order them three. They arrive in a box inside a box. The box has the label forced to grant the name everything. The big box, how as a packing slip in it that matches the return address label. The packing slip says delivered to David Brody at my address, shipped from Costco online. Costco and had them shipped to me. So she brought them for she was your personal shopper. So do you know what she paid for them? That? I paid twenty five dollars for like six dollars each for three? You got scammed? You getting a bargain, right, I figured, I'm paying a third one. You could have had you found them, you could have gotten it at Costco for her the price she got. Remember I'm a member of Costco. So here's what I did. I I emailed her back and I said, the silver is not the color I wanted. I'd like a refund. She said, okay, so I'm sending them back to her. I got already got my full thirty one is with tax refund whatever it was I already did. I went online, I got I got three sets of three for thirty six dollars plus. That's amazing. But the fact returned my twenty six dollars to CVS, got my twenty five plus tax back from her, and I got what de ploy was. This is the scam she's running. And although it almost got me, my wife thinks it's brilliant. It is brilliant. It's creatn't belong to Costco. She's buying ship at Costco, advertising it on eBay, buying it from Costco, shipping it to you. If she never touches the goods she literally puts. All she does is fill an order form out and send it to you, right fucking amazing. How brilliant is that scamp? I think people listening should That's what I called being an entrepreneur is Costco, myself and Banjy's you should start running that scamp. If if you would like my twelve dollar glasses that you can't get it because you don't belong to Costco. I don't, and you a pay of eighteen dollars. He's gonna be putting his ship up there now. He's gonna he's gonna be putting You're you're actually gonna be advertising now for stuff that you can get at at cost at costco right for other people that you can pull that same and we could be doing that to each other. Well, they marked them up capitalism. I want to reach out and give her a hug. I think that's brilliant. I can't. I can't compliment her on her scam because I got a refund. I don't want to be like, that's very fun, but right, no, don't do it to her. You're doing it in general, but that is that is fantastic, So I thought i'd share that, so I'm first of all be aware of that also be willing to do it. So nothing wrong with it, but it's it's a little shady, but not I would take this advice to start on my own business. That's what I would. I guess you could. Why not people listening to trying to make extra cash right now, that would be a great idea for them. Wed you just gave the slices a brilliant way to make money people that I arante of one of our slices. Does that at least does that mean you know some kind of customer will be suckers like me who don't want to look you know, past the first to you know website, you know listings. I'm like, oh great, I'll take this third deal right here, and I wouldn't care where it came from. They save me. You think about it, even if even if I didn't know about the scam, I got three wherein CVS it was one that also shows you how much, Yes, CVS marked it up even more than that. Yeah, that's CDs. Well you know what again, I don't want to best CVS because they could be a sponsor someday. But sometimes when the word convenience describes a store, you're paying for that convenience. Right. It's like when you're in the when you're at the concert, or or the baseball game, whenever a football game, the convenience of buying a soda bottle, you pay seven dollars for it. Right. When you go to a supermarket, any supermarket in America, that's not when you want to go for light bulbs. No, that's not when you want to buy search protector, right, maybe a fly swatter, but you don't want to buy pots and pans there. That's there for convenience, like last minute you're shopping. Oh my god, I need a light bulb for the refrigerator. I'll grab it here. But you're over paying. Oh you're not getting a good place on a convenience store. It's right, it's it's their convenience, your convenience, and then they market the price and then you suffer. Buying um hardware at the supermarket is like buying Italian food at the diner, like they have it. But stick to the eggs and the pancakes and the hamburgers. Don't be going for the lobster and the chicken parm at your dinner. It's there for convenience, but you shouldn't order it. Don't buy, don't buy the hammer that bad path mark. Never never, never going to order the Boston scrod at the diner. Ok. Right, you don't want to get the baked bacon, egg and cheese number one number one club. It's like when the when the fast food place you like? Just pick a fast food place you like that sells burgers and fries, don't know what for a limited time only. Right, we've got the Italian chicken parm hero unless hell no, unless it's McDonald's and it's the mc rab and I'm in on that. No, No, that's the thing. Yeah, what I'm saying is don't go don't go to Dunkin Donuts for the for the Philly cheese steak. That's what I'm saying. That's all so. But yeah, I got Scamboni and luckily I got on scambonid and she was nice about it. So scary and rody, I got at one more thing that you've dealt with scary, I know you have, and everybody listening has dealt with this, and then you could finish up anything you want to say. Any time you call a customer service number, now before you hang up, they say, would you please hold for a quick survey? Now when you call what they say when you call? Uh? Phone calls maybe recorded for quality assurance. There's no longer quality assurance. There's nobody monitoring. That's a lie, right, because first of all, when I call customer service, if anyone was monitoring for qualities, they would bust in and go what the fuck? Right, they would bust in and helped the poor woman out. Oh man, there's nobody listening. But if that's the case, if they're listening, calls maybe recorded, they're recorded for quality shorts, meaning that someone may check the tape at a later date, but that doesn't necessarily mean that somebody's monitoring them. They aren't, because now every single place you call, you gotta get call fixed. We emailed you a survey. I got my car. I got an oil change. When I bought my my car, I got a free oil change to free oil changes, so I went for my second oil change. Scary. They emailed me three times to fellut the survey, called my house for my cell phone four times just to just to get that that feed the survey survey. So yeah, I don't feel that the place you call police hold for the survey, police offer serve. I tell you what, No one company texted me. They texted more do you want to tell me? God, I was just gonna say that that I just stayed at a hotel. Every time I stayed at a hotel, they always ask. They always send that survey a couple of days later. I don't know if I'm if I feel that survey out, if I'm just doing a disservice to myself because I'm just assigning up for seventeen thousand mailing lists. That's all I can think about. Is Oh my god, I had submit. Now they got my email addressed, gonna sell it to fifty other companies. However, if there's somebody that provided an amazing service while I was there, I really want that employee to shine and I want the company to know about that person. And I don't mind doing that part. So the last three or four phone calls I've made, you get the can you can you please? So I go, you know what, You've been wonderful? Absolutely, So you get the You get the either the text messages or the phone. Right, so the phone is on a scale one to five, how satisfied you? With five being the best and one being the worst, five being the most satisfied. And I I was fine, it's five. Um, please tell us why you gave this review? Right then they go, um, on a scale, was your problem solved? Press one for solved, two for no solved. If you press two for no solved, they don't help you. They just go okay uh. And then so they asked you like six questions. I'm like, and then there's a text message. One. The text message one was how would you rate your service on the scale one to ten? Great? They right back, please describe in detail why you gave that number, because because it was good. It's good. Let us know your thoughts. Would you be willing to recommend? And at that point you're like, I just want to say that the girl, the woman I spoke to was nice. That's it. And they give you like and they keep texting you. They don't stop texting you. They want to know they the company you're doing research for their for the company, which I get to trying to improve themselves. But in other situations to reward good behavior, I want to reward the good ones I do in the event of like open table right where you know you're making a reservation online and then you go to the restaurant and then you get the email follow up and it says, so I go to make a new reservation, and then pop up comes up at rating my last restaurant experience. So you can't get past the screen. So how is your how is that inter you had three weeks ago at Brando's in Asbury Park And I'm like, okay, five stars and then you hit enter and then it doesn't enter. Then it goes how is the noise level? How is the atmosphere? How is this? And I'm going to click click, click, click, click, and then I hadn't submit, And then I realized all I've done was contribute to their ratings and their so so I'm actually working for the fucking company. I'm working for Open Table. At that point, pay me, you pay me to do this. I don't want to have to do it for you know, I'm saying that that that's fucking that sucks. I don't want to spend time. You know what, I will go be a professional restaurant reviewer for you. Put me on your god damn Perol, and I will give you honest reviews of all the restaurants and how many stars they are, you know. But I don't want to have to sit here with an email and take time out of my day. What all I want to do is my next reservation. I don't care about the meal. It I ate is. You know, it's blong gone, it's in its history, right, one question, you get one question maybe too. After that it's like enough, I got it. Yeah, Yeah, I don't want to do a survey. I want to yeah, the speaking of food, I want to And I know we gotta wrap this up. Uh, you know, I wanted your opinion on this because this is something that Froggy on The Big Show brought to the table today. He said that he went out to dinner with his wife to some great restaurant and then order from the kid's menu and got a huge plate of chicken and rice and beans and everything for six yeah. Yeah. And I went on the air and I said, dude, I'm like, you must have been eating the play to slop. Somebody even texted in that was pigeon meat. Brody, I know you're the king of bargains, but wouldn't you be a little suss as the kids say, if you got a huge helping that only that the two of you couldn't finish of chicken and rice and whatever for six cents? You wouldn't you wouldn't be a little caut and be like, yeah, I think I'm good because at some point you got to draw the line between a great bargain and getting really poor quality food because the markup there I agree with there, but the markup on chickens pretty high. Right, Like, I look, I I worked in restaurants a long time ago, but we used to pay like forty cents for a chicken breast right now, it's like a dollar fifty whatever. But that chicken for six dollars probably cost a restaurant with labor and food and everything. Even if it costs him to fifty, they still made money. Now if you told me I was getting a steak for six dollars, problem, you have a problem with it, right? Do you remember Tad Steaks, Pads Steaks, and Times Square Shine of restaurants close the last one they closed, last one I think last year. So Tad's Thad Apostrophes. They were um uh, they had booths you could sit in. But the way, the way you ordered your steak, it was like a cafeteria. You got a tray and you put it on the metal railings, the metal bars, and you slid along the pathway and you grabbed like a jello. You grabbed a side dish. But if you're getting jellot right, that's a bad look. But look, I'm not I'm not judging. There are people who that was what they could afford. I get it. But it was like they would have like a big blinking sign like a hotel, no vacancy like steaks whatever whatever it was, eight ninety steaks. You gotta question the quality of me. My parents. My parents had friends that loved it. They swore by it. Oh my god, it's the best value. It's tads, let's go to Dad's. And my parents are like, gonna go to Dad's. Only shit, all right, it wasn't great food, but they loved the price was like eight nine for a steak. But it wasn't. It was a terrible steak. But look, if that's your price point, I get it. My point is right nine and all. You're not getting a porterhouse. You're not getting a New York strip. You're getting a rump roast from Ben. I am from the school of thought that you get. You get what you parted the chicken. You can't get cutting up, you can ask. You get what you pay for. You're not getting organic chicken. You're getting the hell wants organic chicken? What do I care if if they gif the chicken. I want organic chicken brody because it's clean. I want a chicken that exercise I want. I want pasture raised, air chilled chicken that yes, I want. Yes, I want chicken that had access to outdoors and we're fed quality ingredients, not garbage quality ingredients. I get you. Do you remember you remember you are what you eat. That's saying that goes for the chicken, the chicken, but the chicken. What you're eating, the chicken and the chicken. If the chicken ate shit, you're you're eating the chicken and you're eating shit. I got news for you. Find the most earthy vegan chicken chicken that shops that whole food heritage. It's called a heritage or heritage chicken. H g R, I T A g E. I don't know how you pronounced it heritage heritage chicken. If you be written down, I think that's pronounced heritage. It's he it's heritage, whatever the hell it is. Okay, So if you google that is very By the way, only point one scent of of all chicken is that, and if you get your hands on one, you taste the difference. And by the way, when chicken is air chilled, look at the process. I don't want to grow, I don't want to gross anybody out here, but air chilled chicken is a better way. It's like hanging out on the clothes line. When they're after they freeze the chicken, the death is no as they no, no, no, it's air chilled, meaning they don't they don't know. They don't. They don't throw the otherwise. They do thousands of chicken in a in a bath to clean them, and they all get there's all disgusting bacteria all over them. Do you want to chill? You eat chicken palm your whole life. You're not dead yet. If you buy a seen you eat seven eight doughnuts in it. Like a minute. You buy Bell and Evans air chilled organic chicken. Hold on, listen to me, and it's available pretty much everywhere. A thousand dollar turkey. I want people, though, I want people to know that there's a freeing, a fucking difference. You will, you will lick your chops and you'll come back to me. You see, like, thank you, scary. I paid hold on, I paid all the chops. They're gonna be pork chops from pigos rolling around the It'll be a little extra money. It'll be a little extra. You go, oh, it's a cross extra. But listen, guys, no, Brodie, I want to do this. When you find no, please hurry hit the jingle. Something's wrong here. No, there's no sponsor. I'd love Bell and Evans to sponsor us. Your microphones off. I can't hear you. I'm telling you Bell and Evans organic or d or d jar tennio d d jar tennio organic chicken. I swear to you it makes all the difference in the world. When you eat it, you'll be like, holy shit, I'm never going back to that other stuff. If I had a let's say, our friend Glenn from Carmines cook you a chicken that they sell it at their and a chicken from from Darkagnan's or whatever whatever Argentinian you couldn't tell, is that Argentine. I'm telling you, I would know the difference. Alright, alright, alright, alright, alright. If you got them dark Night chicken or whatever you Watson chicken, you've had eat regular chicken like the people we grew up west where in Brooklyn, scary Crooklyn. No I didn't Brooklyn, Brooklyn, I repeated it. You did, Yes, I did.
This person is actually trying to scan this guy? He assuming that because he's a guy. He goes to point sites Adam, that was great to give a couple. Yeah, so this is an email I got as a Valiant shopper. You are Amazon dot Com.
