Speaker 1: Hello, yet still one channel. He tried both inputs. Maybe at your headphones check check no, see it works there. Hello, Hello Scary and Brodie. Nope, nope, Now it's working both channels. Brodie hit Nope, no hit it. I don't like this room because you're standing over there and I'm over here, and I don't like being not being in the controls of the control of the controls. You know what I'm saying. I hate the recording in the studio. They say the podcast sounds different in this studio. All right, Well, I'm gonna edit what happened before Brodie is Scary start start up? No, start up, Brooklyn Boys, start up, Brooklyn Buoys up. They make it no hearing. I think we're here. I think it's fifteen. We're here. Have we arrived? Well, I speaking of arriving in podcast. By the way, I'm David Brody from US right in the morning show. That's Scary Jones. Yeah, it's Rooco Boys podcast number fifteen. I was kind of disturbed by what you played me right before we started the podcast, before you hit the record, you played me audio of somebody else talking about their podcast talk. It's someone in radio. Yeah, I think they're very talented, but they just started a podcast, right, Yeah, I'm kind of like sad for them because they weren't very I listened to the podcast and that was pretty good. So on social media, and I don't want to play the audio because they're on the radio. We don't want to give them and they're not on the radio at any radio station that we're on. It's someone else in in the country. Not anyone knew where we're on the radio. I feel bad. And they said, oh, so thanks for listening to the podcast. Uh, it's it's kind of it's decent. It hasn't really reached its full potential yet, but we're working on it now. If that's my commercial on social media for a podcast, why would I listen to that? If I'm hesitant to say that it's awesome, right, you gotta I understand that they don't want to blow their own horns and they don't want to brag, but you say, maybe it's pretty good. But yeah, the way they phrased it was like you heard it hasn't reached its full potentially yet. Yeah, but it's like, okay, So if I'm reading that on social media and all I hear that clip. I'm gonna be like, all right, get back to me when it's awesome in six months, when you work out the kinks, I'll be there now. On the on the flip side, you and I were having a cocky conversation. Yeah. So last week after episode fourteen, we went and looked at the numbers to see how many people were listening, and we had our best month ever. We really did. We've been growing every month and we're very excited about that. We've had we have well over one hundred thousand lessons a month. All right. Yeah, by the way, this isn't one of those world like American Idol raising the bar. This is the best season ever, by the way, in the grand scheme of podcasts. That's dropping a bucket. But it's not a lot. No, we're like level four. We started out level eight. Like as far as level one is the best, Like we're getting there. No, level ten would be the best. No level one? Like like, why are you going backwards? Did? I'll tell you? What? Did you know? Like in movies? If if I'm playing a video game, I want to get to level ten. I don't want to be at level one. Yeah, but first tier like tier one one. It's a little known fact when you watch movies like with um the Military involved and they go work Defcon five, that sounds worse than deaf Con one. Right, that's reversed in the real world. Deafcon one is the most dangerous. Yea. And why do they do? Why five? Because South America knows that the higher the number, but they weren't. But they only know that because movies have gotten it wrong since the beginning of If I have to raise the volume on this podcast because we're in a shitty studio set up, I'm going to volume going. Okay, but do you want to yell win number ten and win number one? No? What is? What is? Kali? Yell? Were the best music? Right? We the best music? He doesn't give it a number, right, but best is one? Best is in ten? Yeah, alright, anyway, so we're doing okay. The point was in opposition or in um so so anti what that what that radio person said about that in a decent podcast. We were kind of feeling pretty good about ourselves, so we were throwing out hypotheticals and we said, wow, imagine if at that many numbers, even if we even if we charged, like just joking around. If we charged ten cents to listen to the podcast, people would pay ten cents people, see, you think people would pay a dime a podcast for us? No I don't, but that would have been untilitate. On fifty two podcasts a year because they're weekly five, it's like ten grand a month for the for the person what we really do? No, no, no, I'm talking about how much it would cost the listener. We do forty five, So forty five times for four dollars and fifty cents, you know what, And if you subscribe for a year five four I was gonna give the Ford Dill not. Keep in mind, we're not charging for the podcast. We're just talking hypothetically pathetically. That would be like a nickel each Nicola for Brodie Nicola. Scary. I like that, But like if you when you listen to people who tweet us taking money from and again we're not taking money. We were just saying hypothetically, is this podcast worth a dime? It? But you know what, I like the Brooklyn Boys pad dime dimond episode dime for an hour of whatever it is we do. That's like two cents for a rant, you know, Yeah, I like you know When you put it that way, Brody, it makes sense, but I still feel ski lots. I mean, girls, could you go for a time, I feel I would feel dirty and grimy taking money from list to us until actually they paid us and we wouldn't feel so dirty. We're not looking to take money. We're just having a conversation. We said to el said to Elvis, you know on a morning show, Hey, why don't we just as a joke and you could rip us for it. He's like, no, it's so embarrassing you'd even think about that. He said, do what you want that he gave us you notice he said at the end, he goes, do what you want charge ten. If we ran a commercial that people had to listen to, right, Let's say let's say we got a commercial, right and hopefully we will someday. Well, that's how we make money on podcast. Let's make money. You get a commercial sponsors. But if you got a thirty second commercial or even fifteen second commercial, would you pay a time to not hear a commercial? Like if you have an app? Right, you buy an app and the app iss, but it comes with ads, right, and they're really annoying adds. You're like I'll take the ads. What if it was ten cents to go to the adds? You pay ten cents for an app? Ten cents for an app? Yeah, I see what you say. The thing is, I think people just will just hit that button, the forward thirty button. There's a button and every time you hit it, it gets scrolls from and we don't want to encodge that in case we have to do get a sponsored anyone trusts us. The point being, I didn't think it was far fetched, and I was thinking, well, what would I do if I had a really great they are a podcast I've subscribed to? Would I pay ten cents for the fifteen minute morning show? I would? Would I pay ten cents for Mark Maron's podcast? That would? Would I pay ten cents for Nuriced with Chris Hodwick love him by the way, all those all those ten cents and up? Well yeah, but but but it's just one. You have to think of it individually. For would I pay for one podcast? You know, people were like, I'm not paying nine people by channels on TV, they buy the whole package, they don't pay per channel. Okay, so you get everything on I heart Radis, you don't Netflix, But if we're the first one is to charge, then you get all of I Heart Radio for ten cents that anyone else who charges wouldn't we just and then by the way that we were just we're just choking. We're looking for a topic. But here's the thing. Tweet us at David, Underscore Brody and at Scarys just like, you know, hey, what fun you guys. I wouldn't pay ten cents or you know what I would. And by the way, say you would doesn't mean we're more likely to charge. We're not. We don't even have a platform. It doesn't even work that way. My heart doesn't have a paper, it doesn't work. We were just saying, hypothetically, boy, it would be nice to have ten grand in our pocket every month to do it. And by the way, it would not be ten grands, no, no, you know, of course not. But even if it was a penny, a penny of podcast, we get a thousand bucks. Hey, listen, whatever keeps us going, I'm hungry, I'm sick eating that chain restaurants and then coming in here ranting about him. Well, I'm full because I had dinner last night. I had a steak dinner, and people hold on, hold on, I'm gonna call me out on that. Hold on, I have to hold on. Scary set a Scary Stick dinner update because Scary went to the State restaurant we almost went to for steak dinner. And then and Uh with with his Lugers Peter Lugers in Brooklyn with Dr Fat Loss, Dr Fat Loss. As you know or may not know, he's a guy that he has a business in Brooklyn. Pulled disclosure. He is his client, he's a sponsor, but I went out of the podcast. No, but he should be because we are the Brooklyn Boys and he's in Brooklyn, so he pretty much has a business where he gets people to lose weight. And it's a real detox program. You bounce your hormones and you for you worked for me. I lost thirty eight pounds and forty three days, and I went back on it the next year. Anyway, it was his fiftieth birthday recently and I couldn't make it to his birthday. And because he's such a great client at the radio station and me, a bunch of us at the sales team and me, we decided we wanted to take him out, and what better place to take him than a Brooklyn institution people salespeople and I Brooklyn institution as worldwide institution. Peter Luker Steakhouse famous around the world. Everyone, all the state houses want to be enough. Thailand knows about it. But yeah, but a lot of a lot of what most stake places in America want to be it for sure, that's a fact. Anyway, So we took him out there for stake dinner for his fiftieth birthday. And since I'm his uh, I'm his guy. I was there and so it was some of the sales team and uh yeah the company paid. Yeah, you got another but you took him out for his birthday. I took him out for his birthday and you didn't pay again. Oh come on, man, you did it again. You took him out for his birthday. I thought you wanted to address this because you thought that you should have been there too. No, no, I don't use his product. The point is you took a guy out for his birthday. It's a pattern with you, and you got the company to pay for acus a client. Mean while you're like, hey man, I'm gona take half of your birthday, right, you told him you to take him out for his birthday. I did. I did, and you knew you weren't paid for it, and you probably like, oh what a more sides? Whatever I did. We got the shrimp and the bacon, and let us wedge. He sounds like he had a bigger dinner than I did, and you owed me. This was just his birthday, This was a feast. Okay, when was his birthday? When was his birthday? August September October, four and a half months. I waited five and a half years. Somebody steak dinner. He waited four months, and you didn't pay another one. The thing about another one free. The thing about him is, by the way, if you'd like a free steak dinner with Scary, tweet him at Scary Jones. Maybe that should be a prize we give away. Scary will take you to a steak dinner that he won't pay for. Right, we needed sponsored hashtag free steak dinner. Were Susie sirloind We gotta get her to stop mentioning clients some free meals. Oh my god, she's got connection to the biggest steakhouses in New York City, not as many as you have. Apparently, you two. I am my birthday is coming up in January. I figured by August like another steake dinner out of you for free. You know. Interesting. The one of the things I did do yesterday because by the way, by the way, gonna I'm gonna let everybody know where now this is November. My birthdays in January and to January. Your birthday is four days away from mine, yes it is. You never remember my birthday it's four days before yours. Well, because yours comes first. So yeah, if my birthday was first, then I would use my birthday as to remind you that yours would be four days later. Is coming, you know, yours is coming every year and you never go I forget. It's a tough you know, rough time of the year, time January, January, lots going on. What's going on? Uh No? But um yeah, I wanted to tell you guys yesterday went to the Big Apple Circus. It was really cool. They brought this thing back. It's just the celebrating their fort anniversary. And one of the things I learned yesterday was that, first of all, the circus is not dead. Um. Yes, wrangling went away, and it went away for the reasons of you know, the animal, the exotic animals. And you know, people didn't want that. They protested it, so they took all the exotic animals away. And what happened they have they took all the exotic animals away from the protests. The ticket sales plummeted. So the people, like a second, we thought you didn't want exotic antles anymore, got a rookie run on the board. You know, I wanted to stifle you now. So it's funny, it's it's it's just unfortunate that that's how the the Wriggling Brothers demise. It's like people protested, we don't want any more. Point is, circus has been not a word that that people have been uttering. Even Andy Circus, the actor. People don't talk about it, and and the and when you think of the word circus, you have this idea in your mind. You already have a preconceived notion. What a circus and circus circus in Vegas kind of dumpy, right, Circus circus Sola a different type of circus. Right, by the way, if you state at circus circus recently, I'm sawed him into offending trip that places a piece of ship. Oh it's a dump. I know it is right, but it's it's a dump dumb so so. Big Apple Circus went away about a year and a half ago because of bankruptcy, but they came back in a big way recently and they're better than ever and they're doing things so different, and people need to understand that not only is the Circus not dead, but the Big Apple Circus is doing things in a whole new way. First of all, here the lighting, I want to just I'm painting a picture. The light clouds the orchestra. The original music was the candy like you know what I didn't. They had a centabun stand out there. They really advanced themselves. Wow, it's not just popcorn and cracker jacks anymore. So anyway, long story, longer h the They have the acrobats, they do the trapeze, the high wire, they do so many fun things, oh my god, and thrills and lions and tigers and bears. Oh my. So halfway through the performance, Grandma the clown. You know, you know how the clown always has an interlude in between acts while they're cleaning up and raking. The clown is the clown the clowns and happy Right during the interlude. There's a clown act every couple of things. Anyway, Grandmother Clown is a clown that Big Apple Circus has had for all forty years. Apparently it's the same they brought him back Grandmother. So all of a sudden, Grandmother Clown just like comes out and he starts walking towards me. Which it's a he, she it's a cheat, it's it's it's a guy dresses an agenda fluid clown. Yes, she's walking towards me. All of a sudden, the lights getting brighter on me, and I'm like, fuck of all these people in here, I'm gonna be brought into this circus act. Oh, did you buy the clown of Steak Dinner? No? Okay, So she escorts me to the center of the ring where they do that song that the orchestra starts playing the song no no, no, bump bump bump, bump, bump bump. I don't know what that's called, but everyone knows it. So when it goes to bump bump bump bump, we had these two horns, and I had a big horn and Grandmother Clown had a small horn. So it was like it was far humor and a whoopie cushion. That was I was like sitting there embarrassed because I had I had honked the horn every time I went to honk honk um, and then when I had to follow the clowns, I had to followed that clowns um lead. So because he had a small horn, he put that whole thing in his mouth and he hit it with his teeth. So he did the two hanks with his teeth, and I was doing I had the big horn, so I couldn't fit the freaking thing in my mouth. So I looked like an idiot trying to cram it in my mouth. But but then there was a whoopie cushion part where he told me to jump on the whoopie cushion and I had to do the like that with the with the whoopie cushions. I don't know. I just felt it was juvenile. I felt like it was an overgrown adult and they could have chosen a child for that moment. I just felt like, you know why, you know I'm a grown adult. Give this. There's somebody who hasn't been here before. Um, it's just bad enough that I was by myself that I didn't have anybody with me, and I've been chosen, and it's like, hey, let's let's get the forty year old guy to come into the center of the ring and play with Grandma the clown. And it was there was something I didn't feel right about, and it just didn't feel right anyway. I was part of it. I was a good sport. They thanked me, but I felt like that was the spot for like a seven year old. Clearly they knew who you were. They knew who I was. Yeah, they knew that you leave your name at the at the box office. I was hosting. I was guest ring master. In the beginning of the show, what ring did you master? What did you do? In the beginning of the show? I introduced the show. I came running out in my ring master out the top hat. You gave me the top hat, they gave me, tales, they gave me like a nice sequin jacket, whatever. Uh, And I introduced the show. But then I went to go sit there say children of all ages. Of course, yes, I said, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and children of all ages. I've always wanted to say so yeah, So I mean, that's that's the beginning of the show. But then I went to go sit down, and I wanted to just fade away into a corner until Grandma the clown came up and started snapchat. You were whipping a lion. What do you That wasn't my snapchat you Okay, sorry, it's I don't know what you're doing. Okay, anyway, I just want everybody to know the Circus is back. This is there's no funny punch line here. I wasn't trying to be funny, but accomplished. Yeah, exactly. Buy tickets if you're in New York City. They're gonna be a traveling tour. By the way, why, oh my god, I think we're good on the whole circus That they have a dot org as their website. They're not a dot com. They're doing it for a good course cause big Apple Circus dot org. Buy tickets, go see them if you have a chance to go to the Circus. Hijacking. I cannot believe you're hijacking this podcast. It's changed, the Circus has changed. What's the matter. What do you mean I'm hijacking it's our podcast. Yeah, you hijacked it. Hijack you just talk a twenty second story about grandmother clown and made it a seven minute commercial. Just talk commercial, not just talked about. Okay, So here's my question. You're listening to the podcast, would you pay ten cents not to have heard that story? Oh, come on, ten cents, I'd pay it. Here's ten cents right now, I'll put I'm trying to hold on. I'm trying to I give you all my change that I'm trying to get those I'm trying to get more people to be fans of the circus that you know. Okay, how he's how you do it? Hey, have you been to the circus. There's naked girls running around, this hot big tits, the clown. That's how you get people. That's how you get people to go to the Hey, this guy with a tight asked the clown. That's how you get people to go to the circus. That's horrible. That's not what the Big Apple Circus is all about. YouTube you porn Now has a circus. I'm going Wow, porn Hub circus. I'm there. That's how you get people to go to I'm just trying to be nice. I just want to Okay, we're gonna put up a pole would you rather go to the circus or the porn circus? Right? What is the porn circus? Well, they have rings with their cock rings. Hello, oh my god, Wow, thank g all Right, I think we should get to jokes that have been unused by Here's the thing, you know, here's I'll tell you what people have been clamoring for this email. No, I could tell you that last week in real time while the Big Show was going on, and Elvis mentioned that he wasn't going to do that joke. Somebody texted in immediately said that's okay, we'll hear it on the Brooken Boys podcast, which one it was. But I have a lot of them. This was a good by the way, today, it was a good day for jokes. We had a great show today. That being said, we had a we had a lot of a lot of jokes that did not get used, including the one that I wrote for Elvis just one joke you before what we were doing a segment called what was the first joke you Ever heard? And I gave Elvis this joke because I thought it was funny and it was one of the first jokes I ever heard. Why did the chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide. Yeah, I mean and that he didn't use it either. My first two of my first jokes, he never used them. As a kid, I had a knock knock, who's there? Candle candle, candle up tonight, Dad's got the car? That was my and then um, this one you'll only get if you're from Brooklyn. I have to explain it. So, um, flat Bush is an area in Brooklyn. So if neb in Brooklyn. So the joke was, what do a woman with pantyhose and Brooklyn have in common? They both have flat Bush. That was my big joy joke as a kid. That was the first joke you ever had. Those two jokes on my first jokes. That's very funny. Yeah. And then had one other one, but you won't. It's it dates me because when I was when I was younger, so in the seventies, people used to wear something called hot pants. What's a hot pant? It's a kind of pantsful woman women was hot pants like tight little pants and like Daisy Dukes. Yeah, well but pants anyway, So the joke was, what do you do if your hot pants are on fire? What do you do? You put them out with your pantyhose. That was my big kid joke. Cool, he didn't use either of one. Now, let's see if I've got any better. You hear the jokes. We didn't get to lower the music on the Big Chum, I'm doing that, okay. So here was my favorite joke, which we did use on the show, but I I liked it so much. Some guy named Bruce Wayne, but not the bat the real Batman, but I guy named Bruce Wayne was in the news for some reason. He went to uh noy can Eat Buffe and he stayed there like all day. They said, oh, Bruce Wayne, he probably ate so much. I didn't loosen his utility belt. That's cute. Okay. So let's see, Um, I can't read that handwriting there. Oh, that's a rant in the wrong pile. Oh. So today I did a joke about that. Elvis was like, anyone do it. He's wearing a jacket today, and he was saying how the jacket he was wearing is probably for a younger person than he is, but he doesn't care. He'll wear it anyway. So my joke was, that jacket is so young looking. Kevin Spacey tried to hit on it. He didn't do that. It's pop culture as a joke at the moment. If you're listening to this podcast three years from now, you might not get that joke. Okay. We did a story today about a girl, UM who played a really bad prank on her roommate, or it was unfortunate incident. She took toilet water and filled her water bottles up. Want to hear the story right, So I said, Oh, it wasn't Disani, it was Pissani bottled water. He didn't do that joke. We did a couple of making fun of the person who was bowling. No, of course, no, of course not. There's a new movie have this weekend called My Pal Dahmer Jeffrey Dahmer. I said, it's a double future playing with my buddy Hitler. We didn't get to that joke. Um. We did a story about a woman. A woman called up and said she gets back at her company by stealing tampons. They have a tampon dispense in the bathroom. She steals them and everyone room was like, oh, that's so wrong, and so my joke was, well, the good news is she only steals them one week out of the month. We didn't get to that. It's a menstruation joke. Uh. Fatty Wapp was arrested today Fetti Wapp for speeding and reckless driving. So if you're know anything Aboutetti Wapp, I wrote he didn't have his eye on the road, has one eye. And then if you're a NASCAR our fan, you'll get this joke. Uh, he thought he was Petty Wap. Now Richard Petty is the greatest NASCAR race driver of all time. I was a play on works. It was a pun I like Petty jokes. Let's say we talked about so Nate on our show dressed up like Colonel Sanders, and we made a joke that we asked him if he banged his girlfriend in our studio dressed as Colonel Sanders. And my joke was, yup, that was on his bucket list. At a chicken um oh, Bethany did a story where she said pumpkin pie a lot of times. Now when you buy pumpkin pie, it doesn't contain pumpkin anymore. I know that people using other forms of squash. I know that pumpkin is a squash. Other forms like substitute pumpkin. And I said, what so I wrote this joke for Elvis and he didn't want to do it. I said, uh, next you, Tommy, Shepherd's probably doesn't contain Shepherd didn't get to that. Um, I like the slam at the end, like putting on the babyroom. Oh. We did a story about what do we do? A story about whiskey flavored something whiskey Napkins navkin. It was like something with whiskey in it, some kind of household product it was. It was toilet paper. Whiskey was toilet paper that was scented like whiskey. And I said, yeah, it's made by Crack Daniels. We didn't get to that. We didn't get to that one. Um, let's see. So I'm trying to read it. Oh, somebody called up and they said we were talking about crazy place he had sex. They said they had sex in a cornfield. So I so my joke was, oh, you got corn hold. We didn't get to that. Um. Oh, so there's a new Christmas song we played. Yeah, right. It was Santa is Coming for You and that right. So Bethany said, oh, it sounds like Santa is a killer and I said, yep. He puts the sleigh and sleigh bells. We didn't get to that. And then today is the this is my last last group of jokes. Um. It was today's National Sandwich Day. Now the sandwich was named after the Earl of Sandwich, right, because that's where he was from. Wherever the town of sandwiches. The earl created the food, or a cheft died and it became a sandwich. So Elvis says, write me a speech things the Earl of Sandwich would say. So I did, and we never got to it. So it was hold on, I want the music back. Here we go. Hold on. Okay, hello all my royal subs. That was the first line. So happy to meet all of you. M E a t uh. So many things we need to catch up about. Uh. First of all, we're looking for a hero. Scary Hello is this thing? Yeah? We need a hero, not some dumb HOGI we need someone who was bred to be a real grinder. And then when and then when he told me we weren't doing I stopped writing. But those are those are some wasted puns of sandwich. Okay, turn the music of stupid, stupid, unused jokes. We have some email from will give me my blues clues Blues clues Yeah, louder Man. Oh that sounds like welcome you've got mail. Okay, let me tell you why that was low. It's on the same pot. The pot is as as the as the as the comedy music. I don't want to hear your excuses mail time. Take your male time jingle. Yeah. Speaking of the male time jingle, Jennifer Debing wrote to us and said, uh, scary as a mom of six, I love when you play the blues clues mail song. Yeah. I love what you guys doing on the podcast. By the way, put your name in anywheder you want. This is This is my favorite podcast. I listened to many of the other Elvis Durrand family podcast Bud and Jews. Enjoy yours the best from Jennifer. Jennifer would pay ten cents, she would brodie, I love your rants. I think every show needs at least two like volt. Okay, what did you say to me the beginning we were planning out the podcast. We'll talk about that later. Yeah, you said something about rants. Okay, when do you start your jingle for a rant? I smile. I love getting to hear things that didn't make it on the big show. So she likes those jokes too. I've been subscribed to both your show on iTunes and I Heart Radio. Wow. I love this look forward to every episode. I check in on Wednesdays to see if it's posted. Uh. Well, by the way, we're recording this on Friday, because I wanted to do it on Wednesday, Scary couldn't do it. We made it Thursday, and then he went to the circus. So you you, by the way, as great as the circus is, the podcast is late this week because Scary went to the circus, I was I had to be there for the kids, you know, for the new after school movie. Scary goes to the circus for kids with the kids. Uh, this is a great email. It's got a lot of points to it. I'm gonna continue on with it. I like it both when you do interviews and when you're just doing your normal things. So we have her both ways. Nice so she'll take us, but also be careful. Okay, now we're gonna stop there. She's been listening since toot and seven. She got her and we just started the podcast in August. Didn't listening to Elvis the Rancho. She found us on XM radio who even knew anyway? Thank you so much, Jennifer. Also, Jessica Latrelle rights to the Brooklyn Boys podcast at gmail dot com. That's our email address. Morning guys, wanted to say love the new show. You guys are great and have great chemistry. Brodie should have a solo podcast dedicated to his rants. I can relate to the ones about customer service. You can relate, I can relate who. I also love the music that accompanies them alright, so obviously, like they might not know, it's the curb your entusiasm and think that is Larry David Curb your enthusiasm, but we stole it from him. Stephen Massia right scary and Brody only natural, only the the only natural name order. Wow, huge fan of the podcast. Really missing the birthdays? Bring them back? Okay, I'm a broad Italian. So much of your so much of your stories hit home with this pison. Oh God, blessed Stephen. The birthdays will be moved to another podcast with me and share another one another on which we are looking for a distributor for that podcast. So don't have a birthday between now and a time. Scary and why do you want to distribute a scary why yeah, some money, all right? And this one here, Brodie, And I'm gonna drop this on you right now. Yellower the music. You gotta shut the music off because I've been saving this one. Ahead, Colleen on Daco Rights. And by the way, ladies and gentlemen, Brody has no clue this is coming. Actually only I see the email account, so you can email me privately the Brooken Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. And here we go, Brodie. Does she say it should be scary? And no, no, no, no, this is that that's surface. This is some real stuff. Colleen writes, Hey, guys, I love your show. I had something happened to me recently that I needed to share. I'm a manager at Costco and recently I've been interviewing possible new hires. Last week I had a young girl sitting in front of me when I posed the question, describe a time when you've dealt with a difficult customer. Imagine my surprise when she started her explanation with there's this guy. He has a podcast called Walkers and Tuckers. She went on to explain that she was a waitress at a restaurant and how Brody was unhappy with a state that he had ordered and sent it back four times. I thought it was so funny that one of my favorite podcasts members was an example for an interview question that I had asked. But hey, it helped her get the job. She was hired again. Love the show. I have a great day, Colleen. That's awesome. How awesome is that? Okay, so do you know? But first of all, do you know the girl that Colleen had interviewed the one? How would I not? I don't even know how Colleen is. Well coll it, it it doesn't matter. Calling Colleen is a listener of our podcast. Thank you Colleen. She was interviewing what mentioned Colleen interviewed her and to the interview questions that you could ask, you describe a time, because you want to know, you want to get I'm glad that I was the example. But unbeknownst to was a listener of this podcast. Right, I'm surprised she dropped the name of the podcast of my walkers. There's a guy who does a podcast called Walkers and Talk. Okay, so here's the thing. First of all, if that girl who was at the restaurant listens to this podcast, thank you for listening to Walkers and Talkers. She might not she mentioned walkers and talkers. You're not Brooklyn boys, But that's well all right, podcast is waitress and Talkers is even better. I'm funnier on that one anyway. So do I drag down? No? No, no, I'm my motive is strong enough to pull you along. So here's what I would say, Colleen, email again and look at the girls resume and let me know what restaurants she worked at. Second of all, I've never sent a steak back four times, so I think the girl is embellishing, So don't hire her. She's a liar. But then again, hire because she listens to my podcast. I love the fact that it was steaked too. But here's the thing. The only place I ever order a steak now, no, I don't, I rarely, So the only place I ever order a steak is either a steakhouse like Roots, Chris, I have to ord a steak. What about a family chain? Rap? Now? Never? Never, you never order steak. The only place I had steak, and I'm gonna say it out loud now the name of the place. So if Colleen writes back and it's that place, yeah, um, talk to me, Brodie, tell me about it. Well, okay, so there's a there's a there's a place in New Jersey. It's there's a couple of locations. I don't want to say they own it starts with an R. Let me just say that they own a lot of different restaurants. So it's a it's a restaurant company that owns eight or no different each restaurants a different type of restaurant. One of them is a steakhouse. And I've heard fantastic things. So I ordered um an aged ribby. Now age really flavorful, it really it sits a little while and the flavor comes up. It tasted like mold. And so aged is is they actually let the steaks sit out unrefrigerated. That's how you do it. That's how you do It's called dry aged, dry aged, and they do it right. But but here's the thing, and you let the mold grow on it and you're supposed to then trim the mold off and then the steak is unbelievable. But we sent the steak back because it it wasn't cooked right. I thought maybe it was well done. So they gave me another one, another one and that one was more to my medium rare liking. Was it a woman that was your waitress at that point you don't remember? No, I'm pretty sure it was a guy. Huh. So, I you've just you've just sent so much steak back in your lifetime, you can't you know what. Here's what I would say. And she may have just left this part of the story out. There has been one or two times and my kids have ordered steak and it wasn't cooked right. Okay, but like my kids don't like it rare, So maybe it was rare and I sent their steak back. But the point is, but I never four times, and I'm always polite about it. I'm always I'm really sorry. I'm not someone who goes, oh yeah, you were the answer to her question, how did you deal with a difficult customers? How did she deal with me? Well, you know, my asked got free dessert. I gotta ask Colleen at what she said to that. I could tell you right now that woman gave me free dessert, or I didn't pay for the steak one or the other. If if I legitimately was unhappy, I think she embellished the four times. And I don't know what a stake unless I'm in a steak house. Well, we're gonna get to the bottom of that. Colleen is a fan and we want we want to update and mystery server. I don't need the name. No, she's entitled to say she had a difficult should talk to her on the podcast. But she didn't say it was nasty. I never nas to get her on the never nasty questions for her? The server who died? Yeah, the girl? All right, she got the job. Colleen hid her, she did hire her. She deserves a raise. Did it say what costco? Don't say which one, but which one it's got to be in my area, so probably Okay, all right, thanks for saving that one for last, save the best for lest party. You know what? That reminds me of of something my mother used to say to me. What's that? Um? It's uh well, she said me, said, David, this is my favorite song. I'm gonna sing to you before you go to bed. Yeah, anyway, can we lose that? No, I'm gonna delete it. No you can't. I haven't, I haven't hidden and I renamed it as something else. Okay, So, so what's what's ailing your Brodie? All right? So here's some choices, because at the beginning of this podcast, before we started, you said, ah, we should do less rants. Don't any ranting. Um, it's not that it's not that I had a rant that we should do less rants. I I just think that we should be more polite. I've heard people being how do I say this? People have accused us of being too whiney one Okay, we have a hundred and sixty comments on iTunes. One love us, one guy. One person said, ah, they complain a lot. Well, there's a that's the bed. I don't want to hold this dude out, but he raised an interesting point anyway, But then he's listening to the wrong podcast. You're right him. Okay, so here's my first rant. My first rand. If you watch a baseball game and you don't like baseball, don't complain about baseball. Don't go for a pizza and you don't like pizza and you lack toes intolerant and then complain about eating pizza. Oh, I went to see Saw. I went to see Saw. It was so gory. I hate Cory. Then why don't you go see saw? See Saw? Oh? You want to hear my bid? I did a see saw parody. Hold on, oh, pull that up. Hold on, You're not gonna get denied on this podcast. That's right. We got a clear it's clear salad for any broody parody. We don't spell it right. Continue with your rambow. Hold on, I'm gonna load it in. Get there ready. And then I got and I got something about baseball that I want to and not not specifically about baseball, but about it happened after the World Series, very angry about. Yeah, I know you are, I know you are, all right. So here in my rants, I can rant about the pool company with the worst customer service I've had in a while. I can rant about people who say stupid ship on Instagram. I want to hear the stupid sh on Instagram. I need to hear that. And then I'm gonna talk about because I think I think I can want to talk about my lunch yesterday. Who can relate? Who? Okay? So so here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna tell you about my lunch yesterday, which is a short rant. So I met with a guy um that we had lunch and see him a while. He's like, oh, we'll go for lunch near my office. So we go to this place. He's like, let's go here. It was a French restaurant right now. You know me, normally I'm steaking potatoes, except when I got to eat, I don't know a steak. But anyway, unless you're paying for you, if you're paying, say when someone else is paying, he's getting the cabin. And so they're like fu gra and all kinds of blah blah blah anything anything. So on the one, So he says, oh, you know what, let's get the the croak monsour? Okay, crook is it croak monsel? So I looked up the ingredients. It was nineteen dollars for an appetizer croake monsour. It was bread with cooked ham and cheese melted over it. That's that's two bucks. Two bucks. That's ham and cheese. It was ars for ham and cheese. That should have been four dollars. They charged me fifteen dollars for the croak. School you're give it a fancy name, you get charge. That's what they do. You can't charge me fifteen dollars more than you would have for ham and cheese appetizers. They were like ham and cheese sliders. Is the Kroke monsoul orders. Were you paying? No, No, we split it. We we chipped in for lunch. So you pay half of that for half of it? Yeah for krok full as ham and cheese. So fuck you French French menus. That's what I'm saying. Okay, I should have to. I got Croake Monsour. I wrote that down Croke Monsour, Okay. Instagram, You're not me. You don't live my life. If you enjoy what I do, that's great. I really appreciate it, you know. I thank everyone. I tweet everyone I Instagram. I have nothing. Everybody who tweets about right back and on Instagram. I either write you back if you said something really nice, or you asked me a question, or I give you a little hard to let you know I saw it and I appreciate it. That's me. I'm the hard guy. I'm the hard guy, hard Combo. I'm the car I try to touch everybody. If you treat me, I just want to let you know I acknowledge if I see it. I heard it pretty much unless you're taking me right. But here's the thing, it isn't it isn't nice to criticize and adding l O l to a criticism doesn't make it any nicer. So I rarely post pictures of myself on Instagram. Right, However, the Elvis Trade Morning Show sometimes post pictures of me, and so the combination is it's rare that I put my picture on Instagram. Is there a reason why you don't put a picture of yourself on Instagram? I'm not Brad Pitt, so I don't post a lot of pictures of myself. Fair enough, Okay, And you're right. And the face I make, or the smile I make, is my smile. What I don't need is smile. Brodie? How come you don't smile? Brodie? What's wrong? Brodie? Why don't you smile? So let me? Okay, Devil's hold on My job is to make you smile. I live to make people laugh. I live to make people smile. But whether I do or don't shouldn't bother you. And it shouldn't asking me bothers me. Okay, a question? What am I gonna do? What am I doing? You know what? Let me read? Let me repose for that picture. I guess maybe they's like, that's me smirking, that's you should see me when I'm unhacting the lower the music. You should see my face when I'm mad about my steak. That's pretty good for me. I get that, Brodie, listen to me. Oh, by the way, deliberately writing on my Instagram after this podcast, smile, Brodie is only funny once if you're not the first first person should do it, and that's it. Yeah, don't, that's not it. I get it, Like, I know you're gonna do it, so now it's not funny. Okay. My question is this, though, because Devil's Advocate trying to play the part of everybody, every person in America right now, why don't you smile for picture? Why should it matter to anyone that's my face? Forget about? Because I don't like the way my smile looks. Okay, I like, you know, you just okay. But but that's like when people but you know what, most of the time, it's women who asked me that question most of the time. But women hate it. Women hate when you go, how come you're not smiling? They're getting mad at that. Every woman in this office if you say, how come you not smiling? Well, what's wrong? Because it's tired? Because I think when you're photographed for Instagram. It's supposed to be a happy A lot of times it's a happy moment. So there's some energy, some enthusiasms because I'm worried about looking like ship. So you stay on stressed about looking like ship. So you stand like a statue. So I'm like, how do I not look awful here? So you stick your neck out? That's you. You do that. I don't well, I don't want to double. My point is if I don't smile, but you like the picture or you like me, leave me alone. I got enough grief in my life. That's all I'm saying. All right, all right, and now we know why Brodie doesn't post pictures Instagram, not hashtag. Not Brad Pitt me, I'll post anything on Instagram. Yeah right, I'm Brad the Pitts. And by the way, there's gonna come a point where Brad Pitt's not the guy anymore, you know, Like I think happened happened. I used to be like George Clooney and like he's likeas So Sprouse. I'm no call Sprouse, yeah, or Dylan Sprouse for that matter. So anyway, you Cameron Dallas, leave me alone. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, all right, so, um I have a problem with the World Series, not the World Series. Congratulations of the US Houston Astros. If you're listening to this in July, well that happened months ago. But the truth of the matter is this, um I did not like the post game and the interview, Carlos Correa calls Korea just completely taking over the show and stealing the spotlight. I mean, for a team they're played in a hundred sixty two games and then getting through a postseason and getting to a unbelievable World Series. By the way, by the way, there's nothing better in any series. They were not supposed to win the games on the Dodgers were supposed to win. Two of the best teams. Alright, the two best teams made it. But the thing is, you are nothing better than a Game seven in sports, by the way, there's a terrible Game seven. Games one through six were amazing. Game seven. But there's no iron team. When you win the World Series, it's about the team sell. But apparently there's an eye in uh in Carlos Correa. There's serializing Carlos Correa. And why don't you play audio of his postgame interviews. Is right after the team the team had just throw spray champagne on each other, celebrating on the field. The locker room whooa, and here comes the guy from Channel five, Fox five or Fox news whatever, channel whatever it is, Fox Sports, and he interviewed him in the locker room or wherever he was, and this is what he had to say, Carlos Correa Presson's last coast. So here we go, and right now I want to take on another big step in my life. Not yet. You make me the happiest man in the world. Will you marry me? All right? First of all, so cool, congratulations to you both and you hear oh my god, heartfelt moment. That's awesome. But not the platform, not the time, not the place for that. I think he's stealing thunder. You're stealing. Yeah, he stole the thunder of the team, because then the headline now becomes yeah. The next day everyone was playing that sound not them winning, right, Yeah, they just totally He just literally ripped the ripped the rug out from under the rest of his team. I mean, let it breathe, let it marry it, let it sink in that the Houston Astros won the World Series and then maybe come out with an announcement like that. I understand he wanted to do it. You know, he could have done it on the field off to the side. He could have taken it to the mound. That could have done it right there. He didn't have to do it post game shot come on the necond of all. I just thought it would call us. Korea is talented. He's a good looking guy, and he makes like ten twelve million dollars a year. Now, I'm not saying anybody does things for other reasons than love, but there's no way she's saying no, right Like he knew she was gonna say yes, especially on television by the way, you know, like if she didn't want to say yes, she had to say yes television. But also the guy, I think he was worried that she wouldn't say guess, and then if he got her in like in the heat of the moment. I don't think that that went through anyone's mind. But then and then the worst part is that he just proposed to her. And what happens like three minutes later, he goes in the locker room and poor Champagne on other guys and she stands outside. Yeah, so it's not even like they're celebrating their moment. Ye, we're engaged. Gotta go right, right, So he did it for the cameras. He did it. He was an opportunist, took that moment of national time, and then the headline became him. And then what would happen if they lost? That's another great question. If the Dodgers win that game, is he so depressed he's like, I can't even I can't right now, I can't. Right, He wouldn't have done it on camera at that point, he would have dead. He would have done it. Tried, We tried really hard. It was a hard food series. The Dodges are a great team. Hey what is his name? Uh? Would you marry me? Did? Like? I don't marry no losers. But the other question I have is if he makes ten to twelve million dollars or whatever, he makes great? If he makes all that money, no, no, no, no no, couldn't he have afforded to create a special occasion? I mean a minute, what if he paid the Dodges to lose just so we could have a better occasion? About that? Gave every Dodger like a two million dollars. How about fifty million? How about that? How about that? That's just it's it's interesting. How about this, Speaking of guys on the Astros, Justin Verlander. Now, I want to tell a little secret about Justin Verlander. There can talk about this, no, Justin Verlander, good looking guy, been a great picture in baseball for a long time. But he played for the Detroit Tiger. He did for years, for years, and he got traded to the Astros end of August at the trade deadline. After this year, right, he just kind of just swooped in and said, here I am to save the day. I'm super sore. As many of you know, he's been dating Kate Upton for a couple of years now. In fact, when her phone got hacked, there were nude pictures of them together in front of a camera. So we've all seen Justin Justin Verlander naked. Okay, we've seen Justin Verlander. R. Two things about Justin Verlander. Number one, he wins the World Series and he got married this weekend to Kate Upton. Win win good looking, rich marries Kate Upton. Team may make more than he does. He makes twenty million dollars at least the power couple. Power couple. Yeah, but can can I I'm gonna turn the micro of a second to see I'm gonna ask my partner if I can discuss the other thing, but not mentioning names. Hold on, can we talk about that? We can? Okay? So there are a lot of baseball players that because they're rich and famous and they travel from city to city the old expression whole different homes in different area cos god ho right in different ludicrous. Okay, Now keep in mind I am not referring to women like that. I'm telling you that's this, that's the expression. So a lot of baseball players have like a girl in town who's well aware that when he comes to town, you're his girlfriend. Yes, okay, some players don't do that. Some players are very loyal. I hope for Kate Upton's sake that's no longer the case. But we know that Justin Verlander had girls in different towns because we know one of them no names, but when he would go to a certain town, this person, this girl stay relationship. Wait a second. The reason why I don't care if we're telling this story not is because I don't know which girl used to bang Justin Verlander. Yeah, that's yeah. She's beautiful and she's into sports and very nice, very wonderful. But but it was known, oh Justin's in town. I'm business right, So I'm fascinated by how that Do you look at the baseball schedule and go, oh, they're in town with the Yankees this weekend, so I better get ready to get a Brazilian gonna get ready? I think I do think women think like that. There are some women who think like that. And do you not care that he was in Minnesota the night before? No, they only care about the here and now. They care about their night. This is their night, this is their weekend, and expends a lot of money, treats you well, I get it, but you're like, I can't. You're like baseball town. You're like, I don't want to say what town this girl lived in. But she was in a baseball town. And when when when it was, you know, whenever he would visit that team that played in that town, right they would, which was you know, six, eight, twelve, whatever league. It was times a year sometimes. But now she wasn't allowed to go to other towns. I think because they were girls in those towns here's the thing. You're not describing regular, average women. You're describing women who are social climbers who get into that scene and roll with those people because you know, because that's who they are. So I think the rules, the regular rules that you're thinking don't apply here. Well he's like a rock star. Yeah, But when you're trying, you're trying to rationalize it, like you know, what does she think? Like, Okay, do I go do this and that? And is he and I'm only thinking about this night that we're together. That that is the world they live in, So there is no other world. So there it's not even an option. But how are you like not like she's getting jealous that tomorrow he's gonna be with someone else because she's in a box. She's like, I set you up for that. I have a point, okay, So but how does it work where you know he's exchanging fluids and doing all kinds of whatever. I know there's no emotion. I know there's no emotion. I get emotion. You detached, But what if you start getting feelings for the guy? And and what if you don't know who he's sleeping with, You don't know if he's using protection. Yes, you're you're saying, you're saying things that the average female would be thinking right now. So when you hear like a lot of times because you see a basketball player, football player, baseball player, athletes and they have kids with women all over the country. This is what happens, right. But the thing is when you're when you're a woman, or even a guy, let's say a guy could be in that situation. When you're in that world, when you're in that crowd, you don't care. You don't care, you do not care. In fact, I can't talk about this, damn it. Can you talk about I know? I know, No, no, I know somebody, Uh, maybe we can't talk about it. She doesn't listen, Tommy hold turn. Oh really you know she's a good looking girl. Yes she is. But okay, so so she would bang Michael Phelps every time Michael Phelps come to town. But this is Michael Phelps didn't have a girl with him, like when he was in Atlantic City. Like the breaststroke and the breaststroke is the best stroke. Was he a good diver? Uh? My left stroke? The left stroke is the death stroke. Sorry, Kendrick Lamar, but no, So she is the type of person, but only when he was in hard town. No, she's a kind of woman who does this all the time with as many famous people as as she can. And she's okay with it. Like I feel like I've been out with her and my friends several times and it's like it ain't no thing. Like she would be taking pictures of him like naked, like half naked, like Aaron, sending it to the rest of us, send it to my buddy and I buddy who passed it around? Like how is he letting himself getting a position? And when I say position, I mean I don't know the answer this. He's a famous guy. I know this. I know this woman's demeanor, and I know as I do know the demeanor of the woman who dated. We know who dated justin Berlin and the thing and you can't even call it dated. It's just. But if you are in a relationship with Michael Phelps, whatever level that relationship is, right, it's a one. How do you not have the decorum the class not to take a picture. He's being intimate with you, You're taking pictures of him. Look if you have a one night stand with famous guy, because she doesn't take it but it wasn't a one night stand. It was a recurring one night stand. Right, Yeah, they ung out a couple of times, yeah, right, but not anymore. The point is they don't, right, there is no everything goes because it's frivolous, it's meaningless and and that's it. And you know this is the same woman. By the way, I want to get her on the podcast. I bet you do. No, no, no, no, no, because but now you can't get on the podcast. Does he does things? I bet she does that. No, No, she does things two guys at bars that you would actually maybe be like maybe approve of because of of of the sneakiness of it. If she's getting in the by free drinks, I don't improve that. That's exactly what you know. But here's how she does it. She'll show up, my buddy telling me this just the other night, she'll show She shows up at a bar by herself, a fancy bar. She'll order a club soda with lime, which, by the way, looks like so it looks like she has a drink. She SIPs it down three quarters of the way sitting at the bar. So she spent like how much two bucks drink club soda and I'm one. She just sits there waiting and like shooting fish in a barrel, guys come up and they use that as then as an end, because a guy is thinking, how can I get in with this girl? Her drinks almost empty? Perfect, I'll go right over there. It's it's a layup. So guys will come in and say, can I get you another? You almost done? Can I get you another drink? Sure, she'll have a I'll have a vodka soda, and me too, and then they'll just sit there at the bar and then there and you know, she gets guys to buy her free drinks all night using that same technique. She'll just go out by herself, sit at the bar, order a club soda with lime, sit it down most of the way and just wait and no more than five or ten minutes will ever pass, and somebody will be right there to buy her a drink, and then something how about how great would it be? The off the bartender was like another Seltzer that would be awesome, But that's bro code. Brotender is not good. So I give her a point for cleverness, and I did duct five points of being a a using bitch. There's that, And I don't mean bitch like she's rough around the edges. Yeah, no, I know. I don't want to throw her on the B word. I just think taking advantage outweighs the cleverness. And she's done it for most of her life. That's what I'm saying. Buy yourself a drinker. I'll get a job. Buy yourself a drink. She started as a strip or data baseball player, started as a stripper, so you know the life that was scary? Who said that? What she what? What? She started as a strip? Yeah, I'm not infiring anything about strippers, but they do want guys to buy them drinks. That what you meant, of course. Left. By the way, no sex in the champagne room, No, there is not unless you're rich. Rich guys have sex in the champagne room because they throw around hundreds. They make it rain. Oh man, like the night that I was as me making a rain. I just paid for four put a dent in my car with that. Hell geez, I think I'm good, Brodie, I'm good for this week. You're wrapping up. I mean, that's all I got. I mean, I want to talk about Uber uber ratings. I want to talk about the pool store next week. The worst customer service I caught the minute. I gotta go home and get my iPhone. I think my iPhone is being delivered today. Yeah, everybody first world problems. Hi get it. Android first world problems. I get it. Everything you could say is most likely a first world problem. You know what everybody has, but it's a problem none the less. If your home, you have a house, it doesn't want. Many of your stove breaks, and you bitch about your stove, that's the first world. Somebody without a stove, whatever you have, you bitch about. Somebody has less. You know. I can't stand first world problem people. Okay, I get it, but just don't be What I'm saying is, don't be dismissive of it. Yes, it's a first we can acknowledge. Let's get past effective this first people with BMW is their cars breakdown, they get a flat tire. You're making fun of me, now, I know, but no, But the point is this, you know what, But I get it totally. I think we should rep to side. Save that for next fapisode sixteen. Let's just tellunes hopefully, boys
