Speaker 1: Start Up Up Brooklyn. By start Up Brooklyn, buy Data, they make a Noise Data up episode. It's the Brooklyn Boys podcast on a Thursday. That's when we're issuing this on the day we pla with right, not like last week where we pretty much told everyone to go screw themselves and we said Thursday and then we couldn't do it. I'm an appointments guy Brodie. You know. In fact, I thought that maybe we should be moving this up in the week and doing the podcast on like a Tuesday, so people have the entire week on their commutes home to listen to the podcast. And I you're already grimacing. Yeah, we can't. I told you why we can't. You don't like earlier than like Tuesdays. No, I like them. I liked them from my am I Walking Dead podcast Walkers and Talkers, which, by the way, we just posted a hundredth episode, congratulating yes, and I'm posting the hundred and first episode today which is April five, Thursday, the fifth, putting up the hundred and first episode, which is an interview with Jesse McCartney. We got to interview him about his appearance on Fear of the Walking Dead, Right, after he interviewed on Elvis the show. I grabbed him and I said, hey, can I get you for five minutes? And he's like yeah, sure, and his people were like yeah, five minutes sure. Nineteen minutes later as people outside going hello, Hello, we had a great time with him. So that's gonna go up that I'll be up by the time you here this as well. Um, but I know I can't do it earlier in the week because number one, like, for instance, we do the unused jokes section, Yeah, if we do it on Monday, I have no unused jokes, not timely, but then you could use the jokes from tuesdays. Um. Also, I feel like if if we do it Thursday, then stuff happened, Like we get to talk about stuff that just happened on the big show and we can go, oh, let's recap the week, and the people go right into the weekend and they listen to hour and a half long podcast listen. Our numbers have been pretty good. No one's complaining, I know, but I so want to give them the podcast on a Monday or Tuesday so they have because that's when the most podcast listing is done. I took a look at our numbers. People don't give a shit about us on Sundays. Okay, so what if we were as we're recording this, we just don't post it today and we wait till Monday. But that's the same time. And I don't want to do that either, because I feel like I have a gift to get rather than being a pessimist and saying we're doing it three days late, why don't you look at it as we're doing it four days So okay, so today's podcast we don't post until Tuesday. Yeah, I feel like early for next week. We give you a hind by a week Thursday. I also want to try this podcast from from separate locations at a different time. No, no, I'm not getting into the lazy radio man's way of doing things. Not lazy radio man. I want to say something. Okay, listen, you all know I have my podcast with share speaking volumes, and we didn't know that you knew that. But the thing is, we did an episode last week where I was at home at night and I was skyping her naked. Weren't you? No, I was not certain did you her name? She know? She was in her bedroom. I was in my office where I do my like editing and stuff. Was she in her bedroom? Will you imagine her in her No, she was in her bedroom. We were skyping. She had a weird sign behind her that said Princess parking only, which I found was very funny. No princess parking. Yeah, no, it was like it was like a joke. It was I was like over her wall. My point, you're you're side tracking me all of this all of a sudden away, I know, I have to write. It just seems like a grown woman shouldn't have a sign as his princess parking. But that's like, that's like a fourteen year old little girls like my kids would happen. That was my point. Her room was like painted pink. But it gave wait a second. But every time that we get sidetracked, I now have a pen and paper because I left to write. I have to write down where the detour happened. But our show is about going off on tangent. I'm okay as long as we remember to get back on the ro. If we forget one thing on this podcast, we get tweets that say, hey, you forgot about cinnamon. You guys mentioned cinnamon right now, someone's going when did they mention this? We pulled over to the shoulder, like the shoulder but right, so I have to write down to get back onto the highway. By the way, are you turned on by women's shoulders here we go? No, but I do know that there's a trend and a lot of women are wearing off the shoulder shirts where it's just kind of the shoulders are showing. Yeah, but he's I know there's it has to do with the phone tap we did today because it did a phone tap. And the reason I picked it from the many submissions we get is that it's sort of hit home with my family. I have a daughter in middle school, right, she got called out for dress code violation, but just allow like you're not worth sleeveless, you can't show your shoulders, and I guess and whatever, but that's the fashion. No, it's not. So she washed a shirt that had like little oval cutouts down the arm, and on the top of her shoulder was an oval cutout, so technically a part of her shoulder was showing. That's a violation of dress code because anything that's distracting to the boys, which by the way, is a whole on the topic. How sexist. That is that that's a violation. How how sexual is like a three inch part of the top of a shoulder of a pit, not of of a of a middle school girl. They need to rewrite the rule as no skin showing because she has skin, she's not gonna wear burka Like, what the hell? Well, I don't know, no skin showing. I disagree with the guys with T shirts. The guys wear whatever. So it's a double standard they're creating. But you want to say no sleeveless because you don't want to you know, look sloppy and whatever. Okay, fine, so the no off the shoulders, no cutoffs. Yeah, but this, I think when they say no shoulders they mean no sleeves. I think I think showing midriff is worse than showing a piece of shoulders. Look, I understand that. Look everyone there's like, there's a guy or a woman with a fetish for anything. There are there are I'm sure there's people out there who are like turned on by knuckles right now, something's going dude, that's me. I love knuckles, right, girls got hot knuckles. Whatever. I'm sure there are guys and women who are turned on by shoulders. Right, Okay, but at fourteen years old, my daughter shouldn't be a sex object because three inches of the top of her arms showing age. Okay, you know, I think that's way too conservative of the school. And they're not taking into account that people do well is she Are they not allowed to wear open toe? I mean people have foot fetishes, That's what I'm saying. Yeah, if she wes sandals, she's wearing sandals. What if guys have wrist fetishes? I got an ankle fetish? What if little Jimmy, the thirteen year old boy has like elbow fetish? Sorry, I have a pinky finger fetish? Whos Then where does it end? They agree with you? Brodie? I agree with you anyway. Can we talk about my daughter listening to hip hop and songs getting beeped? We'll do that later, Yeah, we will. But as I was saying, let me go back to the road because we're still pulled over here. We have we have our hazards on. So Sharon, I do this podcast speaking volumes, and we tried our very first episode while we were in at each other's houses, like she was at her house, I was at I was laying back into my chain bedroom. It was. It was at night. It was a different perspective. I have a different environment. The atmosphere was different, and we had a great podcast. We all we needed to do was see and hear each other, and we recorded our tracks and then I put them together in post post production and we issued a podcast. I think we should try this with the Brooklyn Boys because I like no, because I think you and me sitting in a studio is very stagnant. It's very you and I, him and me. I might get into that. We'll put that. You can go back to last episode and hear it again. Go ahead, so don't you think that. No, I'll tell you why why? You and I First of all interrupt each other. We talked very quickly, right, we speak like on Skype. There's delay, there's stuttering. Sometimes there isn't. There wasn't. I have two dogs that bark all the time. I have three kids that bark all the time. I'm not gonna be yelling about the fucking checkout girl where my kids are in the house. It's not gonna happen. That's the difference. This is not a you just solved it right there. I understand why, right, I actually have kids who have princess parking signs in their bedroom, so like because they should. Oh my god, I got a bone to pick with charl We're gonna talk about that parking at her. That Barbie's dreams have an in sync poster in her room? Like, come on, you want you want to funk with her? We should know. I do not because she comes off too young for me. No, I mean you call I'll call her. Not now well, I'll put her on the car. The podcast that that sidetracks each other. Yeah, oh speaking of baseball? No, no, no, wait a second. I just think part of what makes this podcast and look, tweet us if you if you agree or disagree, of course, but part of it is the energy of us yelling at each other. We pull interns in out of nowhere, we pull people in and walking by that. To do that, you're gonna skype and get someone to go heay, let's skype a third person and get him in here. What if we skype a bonus episode? Remember how people are always asking for bonuses A listen are always looking for something that I worked. I worked two jobs and I have three podcasts. All we do is preach free dessert. So why don't we give them some dessert where we do a bare bones, stripped down podcast with you and I. See how you did the word I used it, right, you and I? You and I from our from our houses on a random night. And they're just like, we'll just drop it on them another one and don't have a random night. You know I worked till eight o'clock on Tuesdays and Thursday's writing song parodies and comedy for radio stations around the country. Right, you know that other people now know that? Right? You know? I know you know, you know, you know I work like two three hours every night writing local content for Elvis and and and writing comedy and whatever all night. And if you don't know, now you know I nap when I go home. I don't have eight time, and like, oh I have three hours, let me just call Scary on Skype and and no I don't have it. I'm sorry, Okay, all right, so then I won't. I think what you and Cheryl do is fantastic, that's all right. I think that we should attempt at Brooklyn Boys, where we do it from each other's houses. Why don't we just take it on the road somewhere. Let's go somewhere as long as his food. Right by the way, producer Synantha, Yeah, she was looking for a ride home. I guess her regular ride here and back has been sick. I think it's our friend Colleen. Um so so she um, she goes to me. She's scary ta get it right there. Yeah, okay, I'll get it, get it right to work perfect. Uh. So before she was can I get it run home today? And I'm like sure, Um, she was, okay, what time you even? And I said, oh, I got to record the Brooklyn Boys podcast. First. I was halfway through my sentence and she was like she was uh, and then she just never mind, because we tend to ramble for ninety minutes. She's gonna have to sit here and wait. Now she's got her jacket on right now. By the way, speaking of rambling for ninety minutes, I want to say again thank you so all of our our listeners who came to our defense. When another podcast on the Elvis durand the channel of of Wonderful podcast, someone on that show said the Brooklyn Boys podcast is too long. All I do is yell at each other. So because these are people don't listen to our podcast. So again I want to thank everyone who came to our defense and said, no, we love long podcast. They could be longer. We love it. It's great, So thank you. You You guys know who you are. It didn't come to our defense. Um last week after I left here, Remember I was in a rush to go to that appearance. M what okay? Reset this was It was Good Friday and it was Passover in a Hasidic Jewish neighborhood. Asidic Jewish neighborhood, so they always say Hasidic like like acidic. Yeah, Borrow Park, Brooklyn, and you were making you know, you were making jokes or whatever. And we imagine doing a an appearance in uh an uber religious Christian neighborhood on Christmas. Who's gonna Who's gonna come to a retail store that doesn't sell toys? So I show up. By the way, the smell of burnt bread was everywhere. People were burning bread in the streets. A whole lot of explanation of that was the whole thing whatever, but that that was Passover. But there were people burning bread because it's very religious. Whenever they get the bread out of their house. Borrow Park is the China town of Jewish neighborhoods perfectly going to Chinatown and it's all Chinese restaurants, all Chinese people. It's like their their their world. That's what the Borough Park, Brooklyn is a hundred and eleven percent George Like, it's just well, I'm sorry for the sake of the Jews are eighteen percent because eighteen is good luck percent Jewish right, it's and it's religious. Jewish were like on Friday at sundown they shut down for shoppis, which is like on Sunday you go to church. Jewish people on Friday they stop. It's day of rest Friday night until Saturday sundown. So somebody scheduled a cellphone store appearance for me to be. It's a ghost towns gone by, not only on the shoppish on the day on the first and everybody's home cooking, getting ready and the house. The other half of the neighborhood on the other side of the border is Catholic and it's good Friday. So we're sitting there on the pavement for two hours. Now, one person came to visit me. I think we we owe that store free dessert because the people the cell phones start like now you come to promote now, well, that's the day they scheduled it. Speaking free desserts like some of these. No, I do not no, and I don't like. I don't like what you're doing because you were eating these delicious looking not a sponsor. It's a bag of what you described as you know, the crumb cake, you know, the coffee cake. It's got them on top, all right, you said, you know, like muffin top. You take the muffin off the muffin. This is just the crumb of the crumb cake. Yes, And it was like it's hardened in a in a cookie for me, and it tastes exactly like you pulled the crumbs off the crumb cake. Right. So I walk in here and you're recording something and you're wiping your face and by the way, f Abe seventy seven, fuck you, uh and by the way, thank you everyone for continuing to say seven seven. Oh you know what's scary again? This is gonna bother you know what's gonna bother you eating like that? Besides Abe, the people with yeah, hey, if you're a misoc, why don't you hashtag mistofonia jingle for everything? By the way, is that offensive to call someone a missa poniac or to say that you have mesofa because people think it's like a curse word, like, oh my god, she's a fluke with me, Sofonio, we shouldn't talk about that on the radio. Um, I want to say, it's not up there with cancer. It's a terrible thing to have. But I would hope that you know that it's all in in in sighthearted jest. You know it is what it is, so you don't want any But what my problem is you You came in here and went, oh, get these away from me, which is your way of saying I'm going to keep eating them, But it sounds better and less fattening to say get them away from People do it all the time. So I said to you, I don't want them, keep them away from me. People do that all day at this radio. And you reached over and put them on my side of the counter. Danielle opened up a Snickers before and she's like she would peanut butter squared whatever whatever it is, the crisper. She opens it up, she takes a bite and then she said, so good, just get these away from me. And then she throws the candy bart me and I end up eating the other three pieces. Of course it was a pack of four. Don't do that. Yeah, now look she didn't force you'd eat them. But when you when someone's gone so good. And it wasn't on the it wasn't on the air, it wasn't a commercial. It is the way. It was her eating it going from me. So everything everybody's doing that, get this away from me. Okay, By the way, um, although they're not a sponsor, I gotta mention them. Kenny's Crumbs is not a sponsor. Uh. I met the owner. His name is Kenny. You know where he's from, Crumville, He's from Brooklyn. He's a Brooklyn, Brooklyn guy. Done well. So I cornered him. By the way, again, not a sponsor, not spending money anywhere, I swear to God. Where did you meet him? I met him on the one hundred sales floor because they had him at a meeting so deals. I was trying to So I said, Kenny, nice to meet you, and he goes, oh, you're from Brooklyn, and I said, yeah, I'm from Brooklyn. She said, hey, how can you tell? Oh? He was saying. I started Kenny's crumbs. I'm like, yeah, I guess what. I got this podcast with this other guy and he's from Brooklyn and it's called the Brooken Boys Podcast. I'm like, I'd love to have you guys a sponsor. And he and you know kind of like angle the conversation in another directions. Well, then stop mentioning his product free bees. Yeah. By the way, another reminder, we're up to now four people that want to sponsor the podcast. We got we gotta get. We have, we have sales people working in. Stop mentioning them, you shouldn't. Okay, these are the four companies. We've got two people that sell products on Amazon. We have a bagel store, and an interior design company. Mentioned a names yet, but we're in the work. So we're very excited that people are. You're handling this, you're giving them there, giving them the free dessert because you know, look, you want to pay for a sponsorship, I'll give you more than your page set down at the dinner table first. That's that's correct. By speaking at dinner, I want to show you how how much class I have. My daughter, it's her birthday coming up. My youngest Okay, he only wants to go to a real New York steakhouse, like a real vibe steakhouse. So I could have said, let's go to the place that hooked us up the last time. Nice said, Nope, let's not do that because I don't wanna, you know, be a shnara, which means like, you know, looking for a handout. I said, let's go to a different steakhouse this one time. Uh, and I have to make the reservations. I'm just saying I could have gone to our boy who looked us up, but I feel like I should save that for one of you, and I go, yeah, I shouldn't take the family, and you know, like I fell awkward about it. So I'm not going there because I'd asked you for a recommendation of a steakhouse, remember I said, and I gave those to you. That's all right, I know enough steakhouses in the area. Okay, but now you're talking about that place. That crumb guy right there right, I want to talk to you about something. Here my favorite cereal. He's got a box of what shush? This is not my favorite. I can't find that. Okay. So Scotty b who runs uh our zeven hundred show on the other straight in morning show, he runs uh the zeven hundred end of our show. Been with the show forever. He supplies multiple boxes of serial options every morning and multiple milk options, and we all chip in for it. And my favorite him, now you haven't cheap bastard. I get him. I get him woman anybody. And I don't eat as much a everybody else on the cereal, but I feel like he does the favor and brings it in anyway. My favorite current cereal right now is Special K chocolate. Okay, it's got oh like penny sized slivers of chocolate in with the special K, and the Special K is chocolate flakes, so it's just chocolate chocolate. And when you put the milk in, you get chocolate milk. I love it and Special K so it's not a sponsor. A little bit healthier than you know, like eating. I don't know. I don't want to bash anybody, but it's not a sugar cereal, so I feel a little better about it. They came out this is not new, but it's newer than the chocolate. They came out with chocolate almond, right, which is what Scott he bought, thinking, Oh, I like almonds I like chocolate. He'll get me this one as a variation sounds great. I'm calling bullshit on the chocolate almond. I'll tell you why, because you would think chocolate almond would be chocolate. So you took the chocolate recipe I love and added almonds, and they came out with chocolate strawberry. So here's what they did on both of them. On the chocolate strawberry, rather than taking the special K chocolate that I like, Special K chocolate and adding strawberries, they added like dried strawberries, like you know, dehydrated, and then put in half as many chocolate pieces. So rather than chocolate, chocolate, chocolate and some strawberries, it's like chocolate. And they cut all the slivers of chocolate in half, so they're thinner and there's less of them, and they're threw in some strawberries. So fuck strawberry chocolate. I'm not buying it ever again. So Scottie brings me to chocolate almonds. So I figured, all, I know what they did. They cut the chocolate in half and throw in some almonds. Oh no, they didn't do. There's no chocolate pieces in there. It's cocoa dusted multigrain flakes, which sliced almonds coco dust. So first you take my chocolate, you take it away. You take my chocolate and you cut it in half, and you talk some strawberries. That's bad enough, But then you're like, oh, let's give me some nuts, chalccakee, chocolate almond, give me almond and chocolate. Give me chocolate covered almonds. They don't even give me chocolate covered almonds. They plucked cocoa dust on the flakes, which as soon as you put them in milk, it goes off the flakes anyway, So what do I get? This box of ship I paid five dollars to Scotty on marton boxing. I got a box of chocolate ship dust. For you're you're banging the fucking box hashtake ship dust. That's what I got, cockoa dusted flakes. So a special F you f you the special K, A special special, A special fu c K. That's what it should say, special fu c K. I want free to start. I'm writing them a letter and I'm telling them that I'm piste off because this is craped false avage. This is not chocolate almond, it's coco dusted flakes with almond. But look look at the box chocolate armond. Google image it. Oh my god, I got a big one. No you don't, I've seen it. Oh ship, I don't know if I can do this. Is it a client? Not about not of ours? We don't have any, but they definitely spend money. Oh man. It's like, let's just say it's a soda. Okay, it's just a lot of soda. There's a commercial. Can I just say if you didn't say they were a client, you just said there's a soda. No, I want to know. But now people are gonna go, oh, I know the soda on one soda they talking about No, no, no, no, no no no no. Not on our show. By the way, I have a new epic rants coming up today and it's about soda. They spend money in radio. This is the rant we didn't have timefall last week. It's like it's a big rent. So this company has commercials going around and they're like, oh, it's like it's like remember this, remember that. He's like, well remember this, Well, now we have this. Now we have it's your favorite soda. It's the soda that you grew up with. It's that soda. So they keep referencing the product's name, I mean in the words, subbing out the words s the products right right. And and the thing is they have their old I guess they got an old logo, going to an old logo, an old school logo of the soda that they're playing. And again it's not coke. Uh so they pretty much we're trying to say this is They're they're saying that the product you're getting is that product that you remember, and it is it is that product. But they're only I guess, referencing the visual of the old logo understand the product. The problem is, if it was the real soda, if it was the soda you grew up with, it would have been made with pure cane sugar, because recently a second not a cane SUGARNT you go first? Hold on? Because the soda that we have now mainstream sodas and there's a lot of them, they use hard high fruit those corn syrup. So I went to the store and I went to go take a look at the said soda with the throwback logo on it, and I and I looked at it, I picked up off the shelf. I'm like, oh, I remember, I see the commercials on TV. I hear the commercials on the radio for Oh, it's that soda, the one you grew up with, Only the fucking logo has changed back to the when I grew up with. It's not the same product, because it's not because so do we grew up with was actually made with pure cane sugar, and it was it wasn't ntil like the nineties whenever that they replaced it with high fruit those corn syrup. So the high if you look on the label, it still says high fruit those corn syrup. It doesn't say pure cane sugar. You know. So it's a problem because they're they're making m I. I really can have to bite my tongue on this. I can't go much further, but you get what I'm saying, right, I get what you can't go and advertise this is what you grew up with. This is the product. This is the one when I when that version of the product was made with a different ingredient. Okay, here's what I'm gonna say to you, And this is not a rare. There is a version of the soda you're talking about with the word throwback in the title. It's called soda throwback, and that is made with cane sugar and beat sugar instead of high fructast corn serrup. Right. It features the original logo and it features the old ingredients. Right, But they also have a version with their old logo and it's made with high frocose corn syrup. They don't mean no, no, you have to go to you have to go find the one with because it's like a lot of the old school with the new school with the old label. Check it out if you want. Okay, so I'm gonna go right out. I'm gonna go right for it with Coca Cola. Right, this is not the one I'm talking about. For Easter Sunday. I wanted to get some old school Coca Cola in the house. So if you go to find Coca Cola in cans and bottles and everywhere have high fructose corn syrup in it, that's the not pure cane sugar. You want the pure cane sugar, You've got to go seek it out. So you go to the glass bottles, and the glass bottles, even the glass bottles of Coca Cola have high fructose corn syrup in it. However, if you buy a Mexican Coca Cola. The ones written in Spanish, and they seriously come from Mexico because high fructose corn syrup is is banned in Mexico. Or it's not, it's not made in Mexican products. They actually use pure cane sugar. They import those, they bring them over here, they export them to the United States. They also use uh saccarin instead of by the way, you bet a halread before the rules change on what comes in from Mexico. I want a lot of right, So I went to a very small area of the shelf at Target, and I found Coca Cola. Is the tall bottles glass bottles of Coca Cola says Refresco on it all written and spat. All the ingredients are in Spanish, and it was it was pure cane sugar on the on the coke and the sprite. So I decided to buy those bottles because that's what I wanted. Because honestly, you could argue me eleven ways till Sunday are it tastes differently and it tastes better, Okay, So pure cane sugar the best. Okay, if you're gonna do, if you're gonna go, go for the gustal, so have the sugar not high. So my wife and one of my kids and I go out to dinner on Saturday night. The two of them are going to the hockey game. By the way, let talk to you about your friend Dan, Dan the man. Dan the Man was the man Saturday night took care of my family anyway. So before the game, we're gonna go to uh the big barbecue place by the stadium, right dinos saw barbecue where I love dinosaur barbecue. Right then, it's a barbecue two hours for the table. The game starts in an hour and a half. We're not going there, So we go a few doors down to a really cool, really good food pizza place connected to a burger place. And people in the area no where it is. I don't remember the name of the place, so it means we're no stop, not a hotel stop it Beinsworth is a is a restaurant? No? You know where I'm talking about anyway? Stop? So so you know what I ordered? A drink? What do I order? Right? So I say to the waitress, let me have a diet coke no ice or die PEPSI doesn't matter to me. Right, brings me the drink, it's got ice in it. So I say, so. My wife is like, by the way, this has happened to you, like thousands of times over the years. Right the place wasn't that busy, So I said, I'm terribly sorry. Right now, my daughter ordered a Shirley Temple no ice because she didn't like the ice either, and they remember that she got Shirley Temple his thing. She brings her a Shirley Temple. Now what how do you make a Shirley Temple? You know? Uh, let me see it's hold on, I got it. Grenadine yep, yeah, And the people to the table next to is a it's a red s Usually Marischino cherries are are bathed in grenadine syrup. But anyway, grenadine is something you put in like Shirley Temple's. It's a kid's drink, but then you put in an adult drinks also a little. The table next to us has really pink looking Shirley Temple. Harshley Temple comes out looks like brown toilet water. So when I said, first of all, so sorry, I'm always polite, as I ordered that without ice, and she was you did. Now come on, everyone listens to this podcast knows I ordered one word diacobonize right, So I said, yep, yes he did, and uh some my daughter gets the uh Shirley Temple and it's brown and it's one of the next table. It's pink like it's supposed to be. So I said, um, also, um, the Shirley Temple's brown. She says, oh yeah, I said, because we made it with ginger leer. Now that that that that is an alternate way you could make it. I guess some people do. I said, well, all right. So she tries it and she's like, oh, this is terrible, which it was. I tried. I mean, I didn't try it. I smell it was terrible. So she she brings, she brings the back. She was, I can have it with sprite. I guess if you want shore like, it's weird to order it the way it's normally made. So she comes back and she brings me the soda no ice. Okay, My daughter gets a Shirley Temple right, whight good. I drink it and it tastes like it tastes like overly sugared pepsi, right, like not only regular pepsi, but like super sweet pepsi, like they put granadine in my pepsi. So I this doesn't taste right, So I can't get her attention. So there's a manager standing there and I go, excuse me, sir, yeah, I can help you. Yeah, um, I owe a diet coke without ice, and this is really really sweet. It doesn't taste like diet coke. I think she brought me a regular coke or pepsi by mistake or she's something got mixed up. But this is not diet soda. And he goes, it's a pure cane And I said, what pure cane? He says, it's it's pure cane sugar. It's healthy, it's good. I said, yeah, I know, but I want a diet coke without ice or die pepsi. He says, uh, it's that's a pepsi, pure cane pepsi right, But I want a diapepsis diet That means no, right, so he says. So he says, yeah, but this is healthier to have it instead of like what you said. I first those those. This is healthier. I say, that's fantastic. I want a zero calorie beverage with my mozzarella sticks. And cheese fries. I have to balance it out with a diet soda. You want chemicals. I got a caesar salad. You want the as. I got a caesar salad, bathed and dressing. I got mozzarella sticks, and my daughter and I have splitting chase fries. I'm gonna die anyway at the dinner table, but I would like a diet. He says, with this kane sugar is healthier. I said, I hate to say this, it really is, though. Hold On, I said, I didn't come here for healthier food. I want to diet. Do you have not have diet pepsi? He says, we have it, but this is pure kane sugar. I said, So I'm getting upset, all right. I don't understand what the problem is. I don't care if it's pure kane sugar, pure cane cocaine, I don't care. I do not want regular soda with sugar. I understand it's better for me. So he thought he was doing it wasn't. There was no language barrier. It wasn't like he spoke Spanish and they say, I don't understand he spoke English. He was making a health decision on your bed. So I said, do you have diet pepsi? Yes or no? If not, I will take water. But stop saying kane sugar. Don't say the words kane sugar again. I'm asking you nicely. I don't want that. I want diet pepsi. No ice. So he says, we have it in bottles. Great, So he comes up. He brings me a twenty bottle of diet pepsi. Fantastic, made my night. My point is, don't try to pass off from me what you want to go. Oh, by diet, he must mean pure kane sugar. There's nothing diet about kane sugar. There's not yet. There's no connection, right. How do you say the word diet anything It means no sugar. So I said, what if I want a pepsi? He said, I would have brought your regular pepsi. I said, you've got regular pepsi and pure kane pepsi yes, and you've got diet and you chose to bring me the diet, So fuck you. Waiter guy and waitress woman. Waitress woman is my favorite superhero, by the way, hold on a second, hold on. Her name was Tessa, So Tessa, you know, in a weird in a weird way. I understand what he was trying to do, and I'm not trying to justify it, because you ask for what you wanted to, and you you wanted something. Diet. Diet means no sugar, Diet means face full of chemicals. You're getting chemicals. You're getting asked pertame. It's it's it's all the sugars on the table that are not sugar. It's the pink one, that yellow one's it's as pertame. It's until until the rats died from and I'm eating it. I'm good with it. I'm eating fried cheese and I'm eating fried potato french fries. Was trying to with cheese and bacon on top. Are you kidding me? Don't by giving me sugar. I don't want sugar. I don't need the sugar when I've got the fried and the fried in the cheese and the cheese and the fried cheese and the creamy dress. Why he why he was so headstrong, I don't know. Rather than say the waitress made a mistake, he's making it look like, oh, this is better for you. Oh that's good. I didn't go into the vegan salad bar I didn't go into just salad. I didn't go to like vegan extreme. I went into fried food, pizza, burger Palace. That's not the name of the place. That would be a good name for a place. It would be all right. I didn't even get his name because I feel like I should have his name to say. And Stacy and Stay got a list, alright, So I got the pure cane sugar off my list. Thank you for a mind um. I went off today on gasoline octane. Yeah, yeah, you don't. You see you you're a car enthusiast I am, so you get it. You understand why you should feed your car better gasoline. You know, if you missed them all, I wouldn't buy a car that required expensive gas. Here's what I didn't get to say on the air of this one. I mean, the show goes so quick. No problem was why you're buying better gas. There are three octanes in life, most of them. But uh yeah, so if you don't own the car, and I don't own the car, and most most of people, most people listening right now, don't own the cars they have leasas way, you don't have an agreement with the company to put in a certain gas in certain world changes and everything. No like that, Like, if they tell you synthetic is preferred, you put in regular. Anyway, what is the word preferred? Me? Mr? Grammar Police. No, No, I'm saying, I'm asking you. You're you're walking the sourus. Yes. What I'm saying is, when they tell you it's preferred, you say it. I'm giving the regular. Well, preferred doesn't mean that that I have to put it in. It means that we prefer it. And I prefer not to one of my free deserts with my car dealership, which they promised me a free oil change. That's the only time I put in the full synthetic. Yeah, because it's like eight seventy dollars, so that the gas station otherwise it's getting the crapy from what I Got's the thing. I'm like, I'm gonna have this car for three years. It's a lease. I'm gonna put eighty seven in it. I don't care if I show up at a BMW. That's my car. I drive a BMW. But the gas station attendance they have to ask me twice, like what did you say eighty seven? Because if you're spending the kind of money us a normal person spends on a BMW. It's assumed you're not gonna Why would you put that ship in your car? And I'm like, because it's the least Did he mean the girl you hadn't next to you? Because that's not nice. Let the next dontor worry about my dirty fuel injectors from putting eighty seven and not ninety three. Why, I don't care. The gas is a full five cents a gallon. I'm not doing it now. I don't know O in this car the thing. And by the way, the next car that I get, if I get a used car, the person before me that had that car probably did the same thing. So I'm just passing it on. Who comparish. Here's what one of the things they say about the higher octane and then talk to me. I just don't think it's a scale one. I want to put a put a disclaimer in front of this. I don't care if we're right or not. You don't have to tweet us and give us your gas station theories and you work. I don't want them. I don't, I don't. I don't don't think that much about it. I just want to tell you what I think right If that's okay, good, because I don't mind being wrong because I'm not changing. I'm still gonna put eighty seven in my car. It calls for eighty seven, I wouldn't have bought the car if it called for I have a five point seven leader HEMI engine in my Dodge charger at a big gas engine still needs eighty seven. That's why I love it. But here's that I've been told that my gasmilege will get better if I put in the better gas. Therefore, ultimately I'll be saving money. Do you use that pun ultimate? Because that's a gas. If it gets me a point, then I did so. Um, let's let's say it costs me twenty three dollars to fill up a tank, right, which it doesn't? Well, right, so forty Let's say it costs me or fifty if I use the premium. So that's more more money, right, okay? Approximately? Is my gas mileage is gonna go more so I get like twenty miles to the gallon. If I get five gallons five miles per gallon, then I'm even right, Yes, But in order for me to switch over to premium, I have to run the tank all the way down right to get almost all of it out and then do that like two or three times to make sure that that's really premium in the car. Then gauge the difference. At that point, I could be out twenty bucks to find out that I'm not getting better gas mileage. And it's not about the gas mileage necessarily. They some people say that it's about the performance. If my car runs, my cause of beast. If my car got any faster, I've been troubled. So I don't mean that's how when are you gonna open up your car? I mean we live in a city, in a dense city with with potholes. I don't go more than the highway I'm doing. So what the hell the way? You know? High performing gasoline? Because my car and I get on the parkway, I go get on the parkway and I go right up to the guy in front of me who stopped. That's basically what we do. So people like like Nate said to me, Nat who was one of the other producers on our show, he says, hey, how fast have you got in the car? Out your car? So fast? How fast you got the car? Like one, what'd you get seventy two? Like on the on the turnpike on a major road, you know, like within the speed limit three seconds. Yeah, I passed on the left, and I go back to sixty eight seven. I go seven in the turnpike. Gets like, you go seventy, but I'm not gonna go a hundred thirty. I like the car because it looks badass, and it gets on the parkway quickly. Or if like a truck's about to cut me off, I can go. I get past them. I don't need more octane. Anyway, that was it was. It was on the show today. I wanted to get it off my chest on the podcast. I just think it's foolish to to funk over, you know, octanes, unless you're you're racing your car. Who cares it's eighty seven. Go for the cheap gas. You have peanut butter jelly time. I do so. The other day it was peanut butter and Jelly Day, right, and you were kicking yourself because you didn't play the song peanut butter jelly time. That's right. You're like, oh my god, we talked about peanutter and jelly and we didn't play peanut butter jelly time on the and it's, by the way, on the Big Show, it's my responsibility, along with Brody and everybody but mostly yours, but mostly mine, to grab sound and things that we're talking to help paint the picture of things we're talking about. And if it's peanut butter and jelly day and we're talking about peanut butter and jelly in the air, the first thing I should have thought of was peanut butter, jelly tip, peanut butter, jelly tip, put butter jelly tie, and I didn't think of it. And I'm like, what the hell I After we went to commercials, I'm like, ship got anhing hear because you blew it? Jell peanut pick up my favorite part. By the way, Brody, I don't know he realizes this song goes on for another minute fifteen. Okay, So here's where I have a small bone to pick with you. It's a small one. You were talking about how you make one of your pants. Hello, we were talking about how we make peanut butter and jelly. You have a unique way of making peanut butter and jelly, right, I do. Okay, I hope you you said the same way you did on the show. Go ahead and explain how you put peanut butter on. Okay, so I here's how I make my peanut butter and jelly. I take two slabs of white bread. Not the healthiest for you. You shouldn't have pure cane sugar bread much healthier. Oh. So, I know you wanted. I know you wanted a white bread sandwich party. But I subbed in wheat. I decided you needed its not good at it? You need whole grains. Okay, whatever you you know the jo ezy kiel. I chose to change your bread. Thanks. So anyway, I decided, how do you make your peanut and jelly wear. I take one side of the bread and I slathered peanut butter on it. And then I take the other side of the bread and I slathered peanut butter on the other side. And then I take the jelly and I put the jelly on, and then I put the two pieces of bread together. And then the jelly is trapped between two sides of peanut butter. Because if the jelly, any jelly, was touching any piece of the bread, it would soak into the bread and making the bread all what we call shangata Italian. It's very it means it's it makes it all like disgusting, right, it's it's it's moist and you don't want purple bread. And then I cut it in the triangle. But you know, I cut it across so so you can eat the edges, you can eat them from you can make. Don't do that. You know this isn't the bone I have to pick. But I'll tell you why I don't do that because I had rich family members growing up. They weren't rich, but they were rich compared to me growing up, because we grew up, like you know, middle class at best. And my mom always cut the bread in half, just in half, boom boom, No, no diagonals. And my my, my more affluent cousins, like I noticed, would eat them diagonally, and I felt that was like snooty, so I never ate him. That corner to corner. I like half and half. I don't like fancy shamanzy because then you gotta eat the corner and it's like the jelly between the two peanut butters. Right, he's my problem. You said it again, just now. You said I put peanut butter on both sides of the bread, both sides. No, you do not you put peanut butter on both slices of bread. You don't put it on both sides of the bread. Otherwise you have But you didn't say that. You didn't say the other slight. You didn't say the other slice. You said the other side. If you put it on the other side, you'd have peanut butter on both sides of the same slice of bread. Right, But you said I put peanut butter on one half and then peanut butt on the other side on the other side. Is the other side of the piece you're holding. No, if you on this side, the other side of the sandwich, you didn't say that. If it's an you got one side, it's not a sandwich yet they're both faced up. But you didn't say all the side the other slice of bread. And you didn't say other side of that. You said other side of the bread. The other side of the bread is the back half of the side you just put peanut butter on. Therefore, you've got one slice with peanut butter on both sides of it, and it'll be on your hand. You take me too literally, hit it ram pololicea police, a police Broma police. By the way, while we're on the top. Next week I unveil this semester's bad resumes for the intern applicants. I can't wait. That's gonna be chopped full of bad grammar. Oh my god, it's bad again. You've got some big grammar for us right now. Go ahead. By the way, the people people are sending us signs, I don't know what to do with them other than retweet them from the Brooklyn Boys account. You can always tweet us at Brooklyn Boys double U T F. Which will we ever get that changed at? That's gonna happen very soon. I we had we had a meeting with our guy downstairs today, iked him, corner him. Yep. We hooked up with Twitter and they said what do you need? And I said, here's what we need at the Brooklyn Boys. Hold on. I made a couple of requests and one of the things we want is an account that's been suspended. Now before I forget, I would like to say thank you. I got an email this week from I don't want to give out his name. Somebody went and registered all the websites that might be appropriate to all of our podcasts and said I did it for you and for no charge. I will email you all of the information and the log in information and he regised it all of our websites that we don't even we didn't need or want yet, but thank you. So we're gonna we're gonna get those. So so anyway, go on with some of the grammar Police signs. Well, first of all, Renee de Grossa on Twitter Little one seven was complaining out this kitcat wrapper. I said, whether it becomes a little stupid that we need instructions on how to open a kick cat? I saw that because clearly it says to open, lift, flap and tear at end. And there was this arrows pointing do we need that's not a grammar thing? But do we need? Do we need instructions as a I mean in life or no? Do we not? I think if it's a little tricky, but that seems like we could get away with that. Uh oh, this is terrible from our No we're calling out the Fedgham podcast. Oh yeah, they got they had a Grammar Police situation. Episode number three was posted on Apple iTunes. It's called the t Shirt and the description says we address a T shirt problem, but the word address is spelled a d R E S S instead of a D D R E S S. Right address has two in it, two D S. So here here's that. What you have? A grammar police, Brodie, Yeah, hold on, let me pull it up real quick. So this isn't a grammar police. It's just a major f up. Our friend screen he sent us a picture of h It's an ESPN Final four banner. This is a grammar police. At don't if it's grammar. But it's Villanova versus. By the way, it's versus. Everyone says verse. It's versus Villanova versus UH Kansas and Loyola Chicago versus Michigan. The problem is Michigan are the Wolverines. They put the Michigan State Spartan's logo up. That's a big problem. They're putting the wrong logo for the wrong teams. Then we got a picture from I forget me. I did. I put the pictures, but I didn't screenshot the people who sent them. So I apologize. But you know who you are, Iceberg Lettuce in the store, I see I B E R G I icy Berg, icy Berg, I see France the KFC sign. Did you see the KFC one? No talk to me, I'll show it to you and I'll put it up on Insta. It says, now again this wit, this is not. If this was what I was offered, I would want the coke with the pure cane sugar. It's a KFC sign and it says free cockut meal c O C K, so instead of coke they wrote cock. And the person who sent this to me is the one who took the picture. But again I say, jump in the picture. And then lastly someone took a picture of the car in front of them and as a bumper sticker. It's a magnet like a kind of like a parent magnet like you put on your car, to a round magnet like a baseball and it says eat sleep breathe meaning big fan of baseball, breathe b r e A t h O breath. Yeah. Terrible. By the way, if you have an Italian flag on your car, oh my god, I'm not Italian. I know where this is going. You know what. I saw one of these the other day, And this is not a Grammart police thissum is in America. The flag is red white and blue, red white blue, so it's thinking red and white both right, So the Italian flag is has the three colors red, white, and green in it. But people who truly are Italian and understand what the flag is and what what it means, it's green, white, and red. You do not display the Italian flag red, white, and green. I fucking hate that because the very people that are are trying to be like, oh yeah, I'm Italian, I'm Italian, I got Italian pride. I gotta show my colors with my Italian flag on my car and my stick of Well, guess what you're displaying it upside down, you idiot, red, white, and green. This isn't France, the orange or or Ireland. What are the island? Does the orange, white and green? I get so piste off brody when I see people displaying the Italian flag upside down. I'm like, you, dumb bastard, It's gotta be displayed green, white, red. If you see an example of an Italian flag anywhere that says that that has shown red, white and green, please tweeted at us and embarrassed that person green, white, red, knowing you're just playing. Also shout out on Twitter to Elizabeth beat Rose aunt Liz writing to us with this bag, this grammar bag that says grammar, the difference between knowing your ship and knowing you apostrophe r e shit, knowing your ship and knowing you are ship. It's very funny, very clever. That was done on purpose, I'm sure. Oh how about the me and you signs? Did you see those? Brodie? Yeah? But me and you is correct about me and you and me and you pizza? Yeah, me and you was proper in certain sentences. No, but it's yeah, but there they just wrote me and and then just the letter you. Why are you? I mean, listen, we're not gonna fault. Then that's poetical since I thought I had to correct that guy that it wasn't wrong. Although somebody somebody tweeted at me again, I'm sorry, I should have screenshot at it. Screenshot it um that said their wife disagreed with me and said that that him and me is is not correct. That it's him and I is correct. Remember last so I center the website that they called him and I or him and me. That's the website and it explains why it's him and me. So he's right. He went back to her and he's like, yeah, showt a door, suck it, wife, sweet girl. Beck On Twitter, calling out David Brody, come on now for I'm saying it in advance. Its voice text. No, it's not not on this one. Do you do you voice text episode information? When you renamed the Joe Gato episode number twenty four, it's probably still up there. It's an episode number twenty four. A soda rant. Bad choice is door. Kid names and Joe Ghatto d o R and she wrote door. Love y'all, you wrote door instead of four. There's a there's a grand Police right there. I changed it already, and I didn't write it. First of all, that's a typo. Obviously. I don't think you spell four with a D. You're not gonna get me a grammar if I type out something. But the typo is still it's part of it. No, it's not. It's a typo. And I don't think it was door. I think I updated it. I told you the problem. Look on iTunes and you'll see what it's updated to. Anyway, I heart takes a while to update. This is maybe not so much a Grand Police as it is a funny sign. Subway Sandwiches they had the somebody put out the you know, the manual lettering where they have to put the letters up on the board. Try our foot long. They must have run out of the letter. Oh, so they got cute with the word foot long and they put two upside down queues. So it's try our quick long. Those are upside down queues because they ran out of Oh okay, Oh, I'm just saying that's funny. Oh and then, um, here's a sign from I love this one Joker Underscore Thomas eleven. This might be the grammar sign of the week. Maybe not so much. Somebody was was being cute outside of a church. I don't know where this is there. I don't know. This sign says come in and get your ass today, walk ins week. Come I I guess that was ash Wednesday. Yeah, come and get your ass ass today. Yeah. Some somebody class, somebody funny changed the lettering and they walk ins and then it instead of week welcome. They took the l off and his walk ins week. Come right. It's somebody who changes the signs. I did that as a kid. I would change all the letters to make it like you know, fart would if I could spell. Okay. I want to give a special shout out to Christine Underscore Underscore, Underscore are underscore. First of all, Christine, get an easier name. That's I got a problem by the way I got Yeah, I got issues with people that also Instagram a few Instagram. If somebody sends me a video, I need to be able to long press it and share it. I need to be able to share it. I can't share it. I can only open it. So the big fu there um, and now it's not opening? Way why isn't this video opening? If you open a video, you can only open it once. I don't know. I don't know how that works. You don't know. It's hold on. It's important because the kids singing. Oh, then then we want to play it into your microphone? Yes, hold on? Hold on? Should we do the mail and mail time instead to one second? I'll wait for you, I know you will. It says opened like I can't open it again. That sucks, all right, and I can't share it with you? All right, do mail time. I'm gonna work on this. That sounds like it's mail time. Come you've got mail. You can always email us at the Broken Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. This one comes from Bill Burkett Fellas Dear Skiy and Brody. Great job, with the podcast, great material and banter, keep it the great works. Here comes to Larry David Music. Well, someone please fix Brody squeaky microphone, save our bleeding ears. Hashtag fuck you Squeaky Mike. That's from Bill Burkett. By the way, Squeaky Mike used to do overnights on this station. He didn't have a clear career path, pasted overnights because his voice was so squeaky. Um. Yeah, what's up with that microphone on the last episode Dare Brody. It wasn't the microphone. The padding on my my left earphone on my headphones had come off a little bit, so the sound was coming out of my earphone the earpad and hitting the microphone, causing feedback. That's why you wear headphones on the radio, so that doesn't feedback into the mic. So every time I got close to the mic or turned my head to the right and the left ear was too close to the mic, there was feedback. It's not the studio's fault, it's not It was my headphones. Samantha Lombardo wrote to us free dessert, love it, Hey, Brody and Scary. I want to share my story of getting free dessert brought a four pack of protein cookies from a store. I ate one and it was awful, one of the worst things I ever had. Week later, I got to eat another one because I don't want to waste them, and it's maldy. I opened the remaining two in the box and those are also moldy. The expiration date is at the end of I spent five bucks and the company gave me a coupon for thirteen dollars off in products when I complained it's nothing special, but I figured you two would appreciate it. Thank you, Samanthean. We do appreciate your especially when they're nice and concise like that and we can read them and they're not five pages long. That's uh, Savannah Angle, Oh god, Savannah Angle pointing out grammar Police on our fifteen Morning Show episode fifteen Minute Morning Show episode number twenty eight. Whoever wrote the description used the wrong form of your as you will see in this screenshow we pull the car? Can we pull the curtain back? Holding a grudge? The person who puts up the fifty minute morning shows puts up so yeah, there you go, so you're followed that foward that to the person that we know who it is Tyler Jenkins. Subject is scary and Brody. But then in the mail email he writes, hashtag brody and scary scary. Love the podcast. Love how long they are? They could be even longer. I could listen to you guys all day, um, long enough that I can't even uh, who are you motioning to me? Okay, anyway, they should be even longer. I can't get enough, So while I wait for the new one to come out every week, I go back and forth and listen to the older ones. I do have a suggestion, though, with the rants, Brody and the CVS rant would have just as been would have been just as good as the UPS rant if you waited and told the whole story at once, because when you get amped up telling the story, it makes it funnier. Anyway, great show, guys, definitely the highlight of my week at work, getting a new episode having fun with I don't remember telling it into two parts Addison uh Am rights hashtag pizza bagel, Hey, Scarion, Brodie, and then I think it's hilarious to get Brodie going. So yeah, because they were Scary and Brodie. I've been listening to the podcast weekly and in order, uh and in order of course. Since episode zero, I just have to say that you guys are awesome. I feel like I can relate to both of you because my father's Italian and my mother is Jewish. Hashtag pizza bagel. Let's not start that conversation about religion versus ethnicity. I love hearing all the free dessert stories because my mom is the queen of free dessert, and I've watched her get free dessert. My entire life must be tribe thing between growing up with her and now listening to Brodie. I've gotten pretty good at getting free dessert myself for that book to come out. Thank you from Addison. Uh. Then Kevin Q sent us, oh no, a funny sign. This is, I guess a grammar police sign for us. Keep up the great work, gentlemen. I love listening in order and have binge all of your episodes in two months while commuting to work. Keep it up. I can remain entertained all day with this three hour dreaded drive to work. I saw this thought, I thought, I saw this sign thought of you guys, and it's the sign shoplifters will be prostituted so that they turn them out onto the street. I don't know if that was for real or for fake or whatever. Um for fake, I thought it was fake, okay, But for fake, I don't think that's okay. I got more grammar police selections. Thank you so much. I'm just gonna give you guys some shout outs. Maya Anderson, thank you so much. Uh omar Alette. Yes, we got your nightlike candles. We're working on We'll get you. And that's about it for now. Those that's your email. Always email us at the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. That's where you'll find us and we do appreciate that. And by the way, way you're on iTunes, please give us a review, give us those unless you're ABE seventy seven, in which case, fuck you Abe. Okay, we have a special guest. I just asked to come into the studio. Oh it's Insta West. It's it's West who by the way, okay, so uh do we have it? And it's in the notes, not in the system. West is uh is our I T. Yeah, he is the only I T guy we have. But if the computers go bad, it's just West that's it. If he can't fix them, they don't get fitted. He's a one man department, he's a two man department, but his boss lets him handle all the dirty work. How did that happen? How did it get whittled down to it used to be three? They drop like flies around West, And by the way, before you explain that, I want to explain why West is in here initially being the man who fixes everything as far as computers go, West, how would you describe Adriana? Girl friend? Right? Girlfriend? Okay? Okay. Adriana is an employee here in the building and a big fan of the Brooklyn Boys. She is big fan of the Brooken Boys. She started me on the podcast, her boyfriend, her boyfriend, She's she's all caught up. But then West was like, you know, I think I gotta you know, maybe listen to the podcast. Adriana is always talking about it. This is going no, no, no, it's not going there. The point is we had a conversation about listening in order, and West said I'm going to listen in order and he started started from episode zero and he's been binging the catch up so far? How are we doing, I'm all caught up? Yeah, this will be the latest one. So the last and so West was sort of an outsider who knows us really well, and so I was like, it's gonna be weird. He's listening to us rant raving. We're always complaining in whatever, but in real life, it's gonna be weird. Like, oh, I listen to this podcast, but I know them, so we're doing okay. Yeah, that's really good. Any constructive criticism for us, I didn't know. No, I didn't bring him hit of criticism. I'm like, he's just doing what we're doing. Just keep on going, now, that's good. Yeah, this is very funny, but he's low key funny. But he'll walk by, he'll go ups hilarious. How did you How did your girlfriend getting get hooked on this thing? Because that's fascinating. Think downstairs, she just wanted to listen to something. I guess on my heart and then I guess she started looking at the podcast and saw it and I'm gonna try this, give it a shot. That's great. I love that because it's one thing if for word of mouth, like she told you told you about it, and that that's great. We love and you trusted her enough to give it a shot. I love that. I love that, but a little annoyed you didn't just listen because it was us. Yeah, I never I never really took yourself. I never got on the podcast thing until other people started mentioning it. Okay, so it was like, you know, their podcasts have been available for a while, but it was never. I'm gonna admit that I don't listen to much much podcasts. Many podcasts almost grammar police myself. Yeah, I'm self grammar police. Yeah. But I've I've heard a little bit of Nuriced and Mark Marin stuff, and I poke around a little bit on the iTunes Top two, and I'm starting to get more into podcasting in my you know, in my spare time. But I like you Wes. I'm like, it's just kind of there, um, but I'm always I'm super intrigued though, when somebody just picks us up out of nowhere and finds us. We like the word of mouth thing. If you're listening like what West's girlfriend did? Uh, please tell five friends about the Brooklyn Boys. Podcast has great taste and podcast She has great taste and boyfriends, but great taste of podcast. Now, real quick, you fix everyone's computers and I've come to you with all kinds of problems, and I have a question for us, but what's the craziest thing someone did to their laptop? Either they downloaded a porn virus or they spilled soda in their laptop? What have you come to? Like? They like they thought they would just call you, you'll fix this, and you're like, what the hell did you do? It's usually I think one time it was coffee spilling the laptop and then they said some things are on my computer or I don't know what's wrong. And then I opened it up and coffee spelling out of it. Yes, coffee pouring at trying to play like maybe hit evaporated. We don't, I don't know what happened. And then you say, hey, there's coffee in here, and they're like, oh, yeah, I spilled coffee in it. So they didn't even didn't open with that. I guess they don't. They thought they downloaded job. Hello right now he's going, oh, I got an I T joke. Thanks, I just made it up. You could have it there. You gotta say it's all yours. But I mean, what my question was going to be, no pro tools please, no, no, no, no, no, no, no pro tools we love prof but this is being recorded on pro is a region of Indonesia where they grow coffee. People sometimes make the mistake of they've made Java coffee, but job is just coffee from one particular region. As a former Starbucks Expert employee, So I was gonna get a little bit. I was gonna get. I was I was gonna go a little bit more where Brody was going in further, So, what happened? What is the crazy thing you found? Like on the computer file wise, like someone got fired and you had to come you got their computer? No, we don't. We found porn. We don't look at the files. We just backed them up the fold are you winking? Okay? Or the file of him back and up the files. We don't look at the files. Can you back up the files? Where do they go? Once they're backed up? They're backed up on a server. We don't. We don't look at them. We don't look at people. Why up? That is a corporate request? That's and then I guess when a manager needs to access to old information, they have it, okay. So when when Mike gets fired for harassment or for porn, someone might then go look at his backed up files corporate HR will probably request the information and we'll say, oh, we have it on the server. Right. But but now you've seen viruses that are attached to normal like porn side viruses. People must come and got my computer is locked up as a ransom you know what? You know what we've seen the ransom viruses. Yes, they don't come from ESPN dot com. They come from you know. Yeah, wow, that's crazy. But I just want to know that me. I'm prying. Have you ever found anything? I'll tell you what. Let's open it up to everybody. If you have, If you're an I T person and you want to remain anonymous, tell us what crazy ship you found on people's computers. I mean, i'd like to. I really don't recall anything. I mean, like we illegally, we don't relieve. We're not supposed to look at people's information anyway. So it was a clean shop. Yes, okay, good, Yes, it's good to know. I thank you. When you looked at my computer, I can rest assured that you did not look into my computer. When I remember helping back up some of your files, you know there was a folder on your external hard drive. You're like, oh, that's not what that is? Oh yes, so when yeah, this is actually kind of funny. Um West, I had to walk out for a second. That's why you're west. West. Was he had to work on my computer once and there was a file on it that said X rated. It said X rating, trip X rating sounds or whatever, and it's just I'm completely honest here. I was trying to do a phone tap once and we have that phone tap. It's actually the best of the phone tap where I was supposed to be watching porn in some woman's bedroom. So I needed to download. So I downloaded from a database work research sounds like oh yeah, give it to me, And that was the folder that created and it had those sounds. That was the sound I heard in a porn I would turn it off a media. Oh give it to me, give it to me. I think we should title this episode, oh give it to me. Let's not. Let's do that. It'll get more hits. Anyways, spell it right. So when you were looking at my computer, I was very clear that the bark is worse than its bite. That that file right there that's entitled triple X. That is work research and they're just audio sounds I was using for a phone tap. They're not pictures in porn. Everybody knows the points in the folder labeled sports pictures. Yeah, um, you can hide porn. Uh. This this came up in conversation West about a resume I got. Do we talk about the uh the resume that I got the head porn porn resume? No, I don't think I told you. You know the story, but I don't think I told it on the podcast. So Greg t who's on our show, says, to meet listen, this this guy. He lives in my town. He owns a business. He's a friend. He's begging me. His his son wants an internship. Now most people know not run the internship program here at the radio station. And he says, you gotta please just interview the kid. He's please. He tells me it's great kid. He wants torn radio guy. I said, look, he's got to go through the elves Stran dot com website. It's gotta be official. I can't take resumes directly. If you want to, haven't mentioned you in the cover letter. And I'll make sure to at least meet with him. Can't promise him an internship, but I'll leave him. Please, body, please, take the resume. Please, He's gonna email me the resume. Please just take it. I said, look, I'll take the resume if it would make the guy feel better that he gave it to you and he gave it to me. But he's gotta the kid's gotta be he's an adult, he's in college. He's got to be able to apply for a job himself and apply on the website, follow the directions, put a cover out on resume, spell it right, and submit properly. All right, I've already, please just take it, okay. So he forwards me an email from the guy and the attachment is resume dot doc. So I'm like, okay, all right. So I I download the dock and I opened it up and there's no resume. Somebody pasted pictures of Kate Upton into a word doc, so it was all like scantily Clyde bikini pictures of Kate resume dot com or dot It was Spruce, How can we have you in here more often? Your last? Okay? So people listening, drinking people, people listen, people listen to walkers and talkers my other podcast have heard Spruce numerous times. He's walked in Bruce's who got me hooked on the Walking Dead? And so he walks in occasionally I'll ask him one question, Spruce. Spruce is an actor, a voiceover talent um, uh, comedy writer, darkness. But he will, but he will deny all of that. People just say I'm an actor. He'll, he'll, he'll, he'll admit to being an actor and so. But he but he doesn't want his picture taken. He doesn't want to be on video, he doesn't want be on social media. Don't put a microphone in front of him. But he he and I record parody commercials and stuff we do. We have the best time. But he doesn't like to be like famous. He just likes to do what we do privately and get it done. But he just laughed at a joke. But like when I bring him in the podcast, he'll he'll answer one question and go, I gotta go. Don't ask him a lot like I have a gallery on my Facebook page if you look at it's called my pal Spruce, and it's like a picture him in the toilet, in a in a stall and I try to get a picturehim through the crack because if I whip out a camera or phone he ducks pulls his hat down. You can't big Foot, I have I have a picture of around a corner. I can't get a picture of him. He's taking pictures of you in the bathroom stall. Well, you get a picture of him. I can't, yeh. Don't ask him a lot of questions. It just happened in the corner. That's Spruce is from Spruces from Louisiana. By the way, Spruce our boss at at our local radio station here in New York, collects minor league baseball hats and the minor league baseball team. And you're a hometown of home state of Louisiana used to be the New Orleans Zephyrs, but they changed their name to like the baby Heads, and so the logo is a baby dressed like he's at Mardi Gras with a giant head holding a bat. It's the dumbest name and dumbest logo except for the talking. We're talking about New Orleans. New Orleans Pelicans is a terrible basketball name. What are you drinking? By the way, you know this is the stuff scissor A wow, because he's blanking. Because he said he's drinking scissor. You can say, hey, Spruce, are you drinking a nice fine glass. I'll tell you the mug that he's drinking out. Okay, the monkey's drinking out of is a plastic cop It looks like it looks like beer. It looks like beer. So why wouldn't you ask him if he's drinking beer? Drinking scissor? Up? You're racist, son of a bitch. No, you're not your Italian? Are you drinking? And Galliano? No, you asked he's drinking? Sit on some scissor? Did you ask West if he's drinking like a ball tach a ball deckory? No, you didn't know because West shaves his head anyway. I love shave my head. I just don't have any hand. I'm trying. He just asked the black dude if he ricking scissor. I'm sorry, No, No, okay, they did. I'll see my man, may I'll see upstairs. Man. We gotta write uncle, just my man, my man. Yeah, he did, by the way, so just just so you know, my man thing. Can I tell you story we're talking about like three years ago. Okay, Scary and Eye and a bunch of people on the Morning show had gone to an event where we had to meet people at work there and it was a semi circle of people. A white dude, a white dude, a white girl, a white guy, a black guy, a white guy. And he goes goes around the semi circle. Hey, how are you going? I'm scary? Hey, how's gone? I'm scary? Hey, how you doing? Hey, nice to meet you, my man. Guess who am a man? Dude? But my man, that's that's what they speak, that's what And then he did like the fist. It gets the hot like because I'm like, you know what, I'm just trying to I'm just trying to relate. It's all. I'm just trying to relate. I'm trying. I'm trying to race. You did the fist. I'm trying to the man I'm trying to get. If it was present day, he would have done mcconda forever. That's how bad he is. But that's but that's the way. No, that's how. That's how I welcomed myself into your house. If it was the black guy do when you did that, he looked at him like, excuse me? Then game game, the broke backpack? What's wrong with that? Yeah? Is that wrong? Is that offensively what did you do it? He didn't do the white guy Backpat did that just when you when you bend at the waist because you know, because but but out leanover. That's all. Must admit that you act different all at differently in different circles of people. This is you know what we never talked about this on this podcas cast. We know hold on okay, perfect example, hold on Will Smith and Brodie you know you know he did this. Will Smith did an interview on our radio show a while back. He came in and he was talking like West, really, what does that mean? Like A I T guys here, you are throwing out the cards today you were throwing out the car because you're here with me. I'm gonna call you NASCAR becase you've got so many races. Listen, hear me out, hear me out, hear me out. I don't think we show someone. Smith then was hurt later that day on a hip hop station, right and Nicki Minaj did the same thing, and three other artists. What they do is they kind of the streeted it up a little bit. Sound the sound they were speaking to different people, So how is that they sound? How is that? I'm not going I'm not going there. You don't have to look at me and do it saying you're not gonna insult me, just do it. No, what I'm what I'm saying is what I'm saying Will Smith. Will Smith was here with you guys talking. He was like, well, I'm having a great time. It was awesome and it's so nice to be here. And then he went over to Charlottagne and video he was. He told, my dude, what's up. No, I'm in here like underwear, My dude, you will smell me tonight. Son, Yeah, we're good, perfect Segre. How is it any different what I'm doing? My man? Okay, I'm depreciating myself. No, I'll tell me because because because Will Smith was not acting white, you decided that the guy with black skin would appreciate my man. You didn't know him. You wanted to power one on five at the hip hop station. Charlemagne too, Charlotte, how do you know that the guy who happened to be black at that meeting didn't talk like West as you said, you give him a chance after the butt out hug. I'm just trying to say that I know what you're trying to say. We should move on. I know, did he take a picture with them afterwards? Scary to take a picture with the afterwards? You know who else did that? And I told you guys this story Spruce, you know the story screening and sorry, I'll tell you the story West. I'll tell you who it was afterwards. But we had a we had a black artist in right R and B singer. Oh, I'd said, you've heard the story about fifteen years ago, and I will just say. He spoke like, West, okay, if that to feel better, thank god you're here. West. And he came in, he did the interview. He's like, are you guys doing and and uh, you know just the way you described Will Smith. And then I took him into another studio to record I D s Now. I D S are like, Hey, this is S and you're listening to the Brooklyn Boys podcast. We have a new I D. We have now ideas we can play those in a second. That was an experience. I took the cast to Jersey Shore into his studio today and recorded ideas like that. The outtakes of that A priceless will play them on the show tomorrow, probably by tomorrow, I mean April. So I take this gentleman into a studio and I give m a sheet of I D S and it says like, hey, this is blank. Uh. And you're listening to Elvis Durand in the Morning show, Hey this is blank. And you're listening to Scary Jones on one and then all the DJ's names, and so all you gotta do is just say say hi, this is blank and then just go. And you're listening to Spruce and you're listening to West, and you're listening to thank You're on the whole list. This gentleman decided he was gonna say every time, hey this is blank, and you're listening to who. So uh. Here's what he did. He's like, all you ready, we were recording. We're good. Okay. Now I don't know where this phrase went. I don't know where it came from, but he was trying to sound street and this expression never went any well to my knowledge. Right, he went, Yo, this is so and so uh, and you're listening to Elvis d ran in the Morning show. You smell me, smell me? And then like total like that right, and he turns around he goes, how is that was that good? With the levels? Good? I was like, yeah, levels of fine, let me do it again. Yo, check it. It's your boy so and so and you're listening to Scary Jones on you smell Me and his hands are going the whole body's into witness and he's like, you smell me right and turns around. He goes, all right, let me just do the hole like he was. Turned it off and on, off and on. Why can't you say who it is? They can say who it is. I want to say, if you know, you know who it is? A two thousand six big R and B singer, still big and a nice guy, A nice guy Maxwell. No, okay, good contest? Should we do? I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what so uh still a big name in music? Uh. I gave a huge clue just uh probably this the interview is probably two dozen six dozen five and six. We don't have the audio, by the way. It's a hard drive crash. This is before West work there and we lost the audio. So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna give you the information next week, but I want you guys to guess and we'll read the guests this next week. That's right, and the winner gets a bag of Kenny's crumbs. No stop, a date with Wes. He speaks, well to the podcast. She's listening to this one right now? Badan bad. All right, Well, we thank your girlfriend for recommending the podcast, Thank you for stopping its spruce, thank you for being here, Thank you. Right, you just fist bumped him. What's the matter with that, low mane. We'll talk Chinese food later. We're talking Thursday nights. He know, West knows Rose Punk made no vegetables, So spruce smells really good. He does. He wears cocoa butter a lot, does he. Yeah, shade butter. Yeah, that's my favorite stadium. Yeah, his his elbows and he gets he says it. So I'm just he gets ashy. And so he puts shade butter, cocoa butter on you. He smells nice, smells gray elbows and yeah, he smells like one of those trees you put in the mirror in your car. And I feel like I don't have time for the soda rant. So I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna I'm gonna do this for a two hours. Already West can be here, But don't talk West. Let's wrap this up. I'm gonna I'm gonna finally do the I'm gonna do the the dry cleaner rand I'll do it was funny. I was gonna say, what's happening with the dry everybody? Because Adriana wanted me to ask you when I saw you, and you know what, we're on the podcast. Should we skip the soda ran and do the well and do the dry cleaner dry? It's a short rant. Everyone's like, why are you doing? Because we still within the Jersey Shoreliners. Let's play the Jersey Shoreliners. And then I took him into the studio. Vinnie was busting balls while everyone was trying to record these lines and every time somebody was like, hey, this is so and so and you're He's like, you're a drunk whole like he was rasing everybody and making fun of them. But I managed to eventually get enough audio to put together this idea, What's up with your boy? DJ poly d Mike situation in the house, Sticky parties here and Dina from the Jersey shore and you're listening to the Brooklyn Boys podcast with Brute Yes, I like that. That's cool. As they did that, I'm gonna try to remember this because it happened to me like three or four months ago already, so I rippled about the song took Jersey to me. We don't have time for that playing. Okay, how about no no more rant and I'll do the dry cleaning rant next week and the soda rant next week. No. I wanted to Jersey hear a rant. I gotta hear a rant and granted about it. Come on, what about you have we have talk Jersey to be cute up because just like just play, I wrote this about people from Jersey who act like the people who eat meat balls like you do. Uh, let's play the whole thing. No, do not enough time I want to do I'm doing about No let them joe with me. I'm that guy from New Jersey into GTL first class seed in my FEMA a convertible because I know what the girls damn need go change the deep fees. I got meat sauce stains on my passport. Although I never believe people around the world don't speak our language, everything we say needs explaining. Only Jersey people understand me. So please talk Jersey Town, talk Jersey down, Yo, talk Jersey. Don me what the talk Jersey Town, your mother. Oh no, got a friend named Feto do shut to friends nicked geno. All of my friends are kueno yo yo oh tim a petis, I'm no genius, A dated DNA, nine girls named Gina asan arena, busta nets wax, my chest tats on that Chris Christie wants to be the press heavy picture I take. I flexed my pecks, changs, nut chets. What you expect. Gotta bon Jovi tattoo on my chest anyway, every day I'd like to eat pasta, chicken, Bummasanya and Pepperoni. Anthony next to me, he's a real mobster. Got him, saved him my phone under pig around the world for me, Boss saying, which the turnpike s mouth different way in this rain and gotta go on the shore to understanding when you talk. Josie Dunna looking so huh. I wrote that song like three years ago. We talked, and when Jason Drulo came up, like a couple of weeks later, the singer happened to be here that day, Patrick Noath. It was a brilliant comic and I played it for Patrick and Jason Derulo. Grulo loved it loved it. So I spoke to the Jersey Show people today. I told him about that song, and they want me to send it to them to see if they want to use it in the second season this show. Right, I can see why Elvis didn't use it. It's loud, obnoxious. Yes. Also I wrote it, and he was like, Jersey Show is over. No one, no one acts like button. But it's back, so we may have to play that on the big show. All right, let me just talk about what happened to the dry clean is it's a mini rant at best, doesn't matter. You've been promising it for eight weeks. So I went. What happened was I put my shirt on over my head and it was only half unbuttoned, so the button pulled and it ripped the button hole where the button is made the whole really big, but the material was all still there. Nothing, no, nothing ripped away. It was just it ripped open a little bit. So I go to the dry clean and and I said, hey, do me a favor, can you just so it wasn't the front button hole. It was the back where the button is. The button ripped open, not the whole. So that's the part that's under the shirt, so when you button it, it's the pot in the back. So if it's not perfectly so, and it's no big deal, right, I said, do me a favor. Just sew that up, put a little patch behind it, and then so the two things down to the piece of material in the back, so that the material stays where it is, because a few years ago I asked him do the same thing, and they overlapped it. They like, they pulled a little bit of the shirt together and they folded over the part so that like, rather than sew the hole together, they took one half of the hole and put it over the other half of the hole and sewed it down. The problem is it pulls the shirt a little over when you put the shirt on, because you've pulled the shirt over a little to cover the hole. So I said, please don't do that now. The guy who works the register will say he speaks like West. I'm so glad West is here. He speaks like Wes perfect. However, the woman in the corner who does the sewing, she speaks like the mother of the guy who owns the Chinese restaurant. He doesn't speak well, and she speaks worse, she doesn't speak in the English. She goes okay, okay, that's all she says. So she's just used to taking direction in sewing holes. So she takes direction from the cashier who sounds like West but also speaks Chinese. So he says to her in Chinese blah blah blah blah blah whatever. She looks at me and goes okay, like with a head nod. Okay. So I give her the shirt and I go no, no fold over, no fold over, And I do in my hands like this, and I show her. So I figured, like, you know, she'll understand what that means. Okay. She does not understand what that means. Doesn't understand that. So I go back a week later. Do they tell me come back in a week. So I go back in a week, right, And then I get the shirt and what do I get? I get fold over? I get fold over in the shirt. So I say the Chinese version of WES, I say, hey, this fold over. I don't understand what you mean. I said. I specifically asked you just sow the two halves to something behind it, so you fold them, sew them down, don't fold them over, and do a flap over, like when you get a piece of paper rips and you fold you tape it. I said, put the tape on the back of the paper, all right, and then you put the two hands down on the tape and it doesn't look like this tape on it, so that doesn't have like to fold over pull. I don't want to pull on my shirt. So rather than explaining it to her, he calls her over and he says, go ahead, tell her what you want. I can wait talking about tell her what I want? Do speak English? And he says to me, oh, no, go ahead, she'll understand. I said, I already did no fauld over, no fold over. She didn't understand what I said. Did she suddenly used Rosetta Stone had learned how to speak English in the sixth days since I was here? Did she take a miracle course of Rosetta Stone? What's the six easy tapes? So I can't I give it a shot? Oh? No, fold over? Look this fold over? And she just saw. I said no, no, I said, please, please, Asian West, would you please tell her? He goes, I don't understand what you mean. Well you told her last week, so he goes, I don't know, it looks fine, it's pulling. It looks like I'm wearing pleated pants. My shirt is pleaded. Could you play? So it's like, I don't understand tex plain to how much you want? Like, I want you to undo this, put fabric underneath, and she's oh, that's what I got, like oh and then a oh and air. I don't think either of those are in the Chinese languages. Practicing her vocabulary her Actually she's on vouls voul. He's just coming vowel like I could have got ah, I got, I got, I got like I think I know what you know. I don't. That's what she said to me. Oh, I know, so I got, So I got falled over. Hey, fuck you Asian West West Asian, Like, dude, use fake Chinese, you'll tell her what I said. It's like if this woman was death and use fake sign language and you're making me talk to a death person. That was all what do I do with that? So I got the shirt, I go, couldn't fix it. You don't know what I want. So there's another place across the street. Is that dry cleaners across the street? You know, I think I'm not even tell you you know what the name. I don't want to say the name in the place because I don't want people to know where I lived. But the name of the place was, like, you know, we talked about Stacy's Pizza. It was just it was a West sounding name. It was like West is dry cleaning. It was the will smith will it was the will pot, like will here it was. It was just that's who I was. It was that kind of thing. So I go across the street. Won't just say it was Mike's dry cleaning. It could have been. It was like Mike sounding right. I go in, I go, excuse me, I guess what? Another Asian West and another woman in the corner who doesn't speak English. I feel like they everybody brings their grandmother over from the old country. She sews because a lot of people don't sew anymore. And I could not communicate there either. So I've got to find a place in my neighborhood where I will get more than right. But then here's the thing. If I go somewhere else, I gotta pay them to take the stitching out and undo the fold and then bring the shirt eat. I gotta triple. So I gotta go back there. And get my money back. I told him, I go, you know, I don't have time for this. I don't have time for this. That's how busy I've been, right, So I sign of time for it. So two weeks later, I go back in and I go, look, Asian West, I'm not paying for the fold over. I'm not doing it. I want my money back, and I want you to take the stitching out. He goes, We'll tell her what you want. I'm not doing it. So I still have a shirt would fold over. I'm gonna take a picture and when I get home today and I'll post the picture of Asian fold over because you don't want that pull. I don't want the shirt pull. That's it. That's my that's my rant. I'm sorry you waited to hear. I have to hear West. Where can we find you? On Twitter? Where can I listen to? We want? We want to up your following? On Instagram? By the way, I did a parody specifically about West called West Posito the System. So are you next? Where are you? On Instagram? Instagram, Insta Underscore West Underscore w E S And on Twitter? I had my own photo thing. I like taking pictures, so it's Twitter. Photos by west Lee full name w E S t l E. We We're way late. Look, Spruce is looking in like a regular person would look what's up staring at us? Brooklyn Boys, Rocks Boys, Las
