Speaker 1: Start uf dot up, start Up, Brooklyn buys, start Up, Brooklyn buys start dat up. They're making noise data up. Episode two forty three. It's the Brooklyn Boys podcast shirts to forty three. Yeah, I'm positive this time there Brody alright, good, But then I'm off the hook right now. Nobody's yelling AT's not two. So check this out. It's like late in the afternoon on Friday, I mean almost bordering on the time where my weekend starts and the fun became. You know, you call me a poor bastard. We've uh, it's hard for us to link up. These days were like, uh, you know, Lennon and McCartney, you're like, right right, you know, before the beat right before the Beatles brought up brought up in it now right now, it's difficult. No, well, I'm saying no at the end, at the end, you know, you know, when they were, you know, doing Abbey Road. Which one of us is Yoko? Are you? Yoko? Yoko is the one who broke up the band. So I would imagine, really true, but that's what they say. I would imagine neither one of us are Yoko. But but what I'm saying is it's like a lot going on here, but we wanted to UM make sure that we we sat down and down and did this. It's important to us. Yeah, I want to give a special shout out to UM. Then haras the e n I believe from Barcelona. For give me if I got that wrong from Bartha Slona Flona, so I said on the podcast last week, and I was nine percent wrong on wrong on we were talking about driving on the wrong side of the road and how the British driving the wrong side of the road, and I said, you know how you know we we drive on the right side of the road because we invented the automobile. Very true. Well, well, technically I think that's a mic drop moment right there. It is. Except Carl Benz, as in Mercedes. Benz is one of the many people credited with the invention of the motorized vehicle. So he invented in I don't know, eighteen ninety six, like a three wheeler like a horse and buggy, except where the horses go there's a wheel, so it's three wheels like a big tricycle thing that he invented. So if you Google or look on Wikipedia, who invented the automobile. It's a French guy, but he didn't patent it fast enough. And the two German guys, actually one German guys Daimler and one guy was Benz and Daimler is Daimler. Yeah, well although fiats Christ now, but it was Damler owns Mercedes, so those Mercedes, Benz and Daimler are still in business today. So technically, America didn't invent the car, but we invented mass production of the car, and I think we were the first ones maybe to put doors on cars, whatever the case that would be. Didn't invent the car, No, the Model t Ford was the first produced successful vehicle. And even if Germany technically gets credit for inventing the motorized vehicle, they're not England either, and they drive on the left side of the road, so either way, you know, but uh, I'll make a correction. Okay, Well, good, how's your week, Brody? I haven't seen you? Well that that's why should that be any different than the previous weeks, because yeah, how was your week? Was it good? You have a good time? You know, what were you up to this week? People want to know about our lives. Well, last Friday a week ago. So the day after we did a last podcast, a good friend of mine, who has a nice size expense account says to me, um, hey, man, you want to go to Capital Girl. I can expense it because we have to talk about business and I have some ideas someone someone else is expensing it. I was like, well you don't. You don't owe me a steak dinner like my good friend Scary does. But yeah, let's go. So I said, should we make reservations? It's a Friday. He's like, no, we'll just go. They'll they'll be walk up because he goes because I called there's no reservations, but they said we could walk up. By the way, you're already headed down a really slippery slope. This is a bad path to go down when you head to Capital Grill without a reservation on a Friday night and crazy. So we get to Capital Grill. A woman the there's two hostesses, and I said, hey, we need a table for two. We don't have a reservation. We're hoping that you have something available. So she says, um, well, I have a table in the bar area. Would you like that? Now? The tables in the bar all high tops, of course, and I don't really feel like sitting in a high top with loud bar, loud TVs and everything. So I said, well, truthfully, well, wait, do you have anything in the regular section. She says, well, I had a cancelation for dinner. So I said, well, can we have that? She says, well, no one's ever said no to a bar table before. I said, well, I'm saying go to the bar. T So if you have a table in the in the regular section, maybe they were saving it for four people and we were only two. That's not my problem. I said, so can we please have that table? So she looks the other hostess that the hostess looks at her like gives her the shrugging shoulders, and she goes, sure, right this way, no, and she goes, I just no one's ever said now to a table in the bar. Well, I gotta say, I've said now to a table in the bar. I don't like high tops because then your feet dangle unless they have a proper bar for me to lean my my the bottoms of my sneakers on. Look, I don't mind a high top table if I'm getting nachos or wings and I'm hunching over my food. But if I'm cutting a fancy steak, I would like it at my waist level a little bit lower, so I can you know when you're the more fancy the dinner, the more proper the table it should be. And this isn't like your steakhouse. You want to slump right and you're not. It's not like you're watching the game having a couple of beers. That's what high tops are. Four now I have, out of desperation, had brunch at at the counter or at the bar. Oh yeah, because it's different at the It's different at the bar as opposed to a high top in the bar area. Because at the bar, at least, you know, you've got the camaraderie of the people around you. You feel like you're you know, maybe you have a drink you know as well, you know with you know, the and there's there's more to it. There's a whole bar culture, right. So I'm my girlfriend and I on occasions where it's first come, first served at the bar, but everything else is fully committed or a two hour weight, we'll jump right into the bar and have brunch and we love it. And but that's at the bar. Sitting at the bar is different than sitting at a high top. I think, I don't know, I don't know, just me, so of course it is so that that's what I did on Friday. Uh. And then I don't know. I don't know the rest of the week A big blur. I don't know. I did some shopping, some returns. Oh you know what I did. I went looking for um, some uh sale items, some jackets. Uh, you know, because your mid season, now's the time to get your winter jackets or your fall jackets because they're already moving on. Yeah, they're going on sale now, right, so everything is is marked down if they have your size. So I went to Bloomingdale's and I figured, oh, you know what, I'll pick up something nice that if I don't wear until next year, I can wear for a few weeks until the weather gets nicer. I'll see if I can get a good deal because they have like forty percent off everything. I don't understand. And this happens. You know this because you're you're you're built well, you will be built like me once you go through your detox um. There's always smalls and mediums left over, always, but never lodges and extra lodges never you go never go up and you go, oh, they have nothing but larges and extra lodges. So my yeah, So I think your question is going to be similar to the one that I've always questioned, is why are you making more large side? Yeah, why don't you make like ten times the amount of larger than extra larges than the smalls and mediums. It doesn't make SA you don't want to over stock, but obviously obviously the goal is to sell out. And I guess in a perfect world you sell at extra lodges, but they lost a sale because I wear a larger an extra lodge paying on the cut and there's nothing. But look, if you're small, you'll probably buy a medium. If you're a medium, probably by a lodge. If you're a large, you can't buy small. No, no, you can't buy a medium. You can't go down. You got a room. I'm trying. I'm trying to get back to the size. Weigh too many clothes in that in the in the medium to large area that I gotta get this excel out of here. I'm back to I'm almost there. Some mediums. Fuck yeah, oh yeah, I have mediums. I have mediums. I have like certain genes I have are like thirty twos. I'm now thirty six, but thirty third be four is where I'm usually you know in mid season, second and third quarter scari is for thirty four. We established word fifth quarter scary right now? Yeah, dude, I had a long way to fucking fall. So how many What day are you on? Now? Today's day eighteen? No, today's the twentieth, today's day twenty, and I'm down eighteen pounds. Oh very nice. I thought you didn't start till the second jan one. Joan one is day one? Yeah, alright, good? Yeah. So anyway, um uh, I don't know about what's the most exciting thing you've eaten? Then? Um oh, I took two chicken, two portobello mushroom caps. Giants, hold on those giant caps, and I, you know, I roasted them, and then I made a buffalo burger and then I put with with um some low low sugar catch up. Now whoa say that word again? Low or no sugar unsweetened catchup is a place called primal catch up, a second catch up, catch up, thank you, thank you. Okay, there's this cat's up. There's this company called Primal Kitchen. They do this organic unsweetened catch up, which is okay for this diet because there's no added sugar and it's like maybe one graham in there. So I have that with a bison burger because buffalo bison is better for you than actual beef. It's actually healthier. It's not not better for the bison, but it's it's it's less fat. It's kind of cool. But I mean I could have had a steak. I could do whatever I want. Yeah, I mean I did down eighteen pounds. Yeah, it's good. It's good. Um, I did. I am a little big for my kind of mediums. I have a medium sized Giants T shirt that I was gonna wear to the game tomorrow night. But I don't think i'll be I think I'm gonna be leaving that behind. Yeah, I wouldn't, Okay. So what we're talking about, Scary field be in on this Yesterday, Scary went and bought tickets. After market tickets are secondary market tickets for the UH Eagles Giants game. I say it in that order because it's an Eagle's home game at the at the Link Lincoln Financial Field, which is a beautiful stadium. I used to go to see the Eagles at the Vet, which was the old Round Stadium where the Phillies played, also would astra turf. Some of the coldest moments of my entire life were sitting watching Eagles games. The wind would go under the seats and cut your ankles off like that. That the way the stadium was designed to win would come in. Anyone who's ever sat there knows your ankles are the first to go bitter cold in December at in that stadium. I don't know if the link is any better as far as the wind and the warmth, but the Vet was a dump. Uh as far as just it was horrible. It doesn't matter because the weather is gonna be great tomorrow night. And um I want to tell you so yeah, I'll tell you that that in just a second. Just but don't ever wear Giants gear to it. Don't wear New York gear to Philadelphia. Well it's the boys good, Yes, listen. I don't know what you're planning, but I don't even like driving a car with New York plates into Philadelphia. What are you? What are you thinking? Well, I we spoke about this on the Morning show, and um, well I'm going to the Giant game, and me and three of my friends we were planning on wearing our Giants gear and minding our own business. No, there's no such thing. Okay, if for those who don't know, the Giants are in the playoffs and so are the Eagles, and obviously the Eagles. Giants are playing the Eagles in Eagle right at the Lincoln Eagles territory. So so what does that mean? What does that mean? I mean, listen, what as as a met fan, we welcome you know, we see Philly fans all the time in our stadium. We don't welcome them, but we don't welcome them, but we we see them there. We see other fans of the opposing team at the home. In a way, they're fans at both at every stadium, at every sport in America. Scary, I don't know, want to make light of a war going on, but if you walked with a with a Russian football jersey or a Russian flag into Ukraine right now, you would be treated better than going into the link in a Giants jersey. Did you? Did you not look up the story I told you about about the Rangers fans? Yes, outside the Pats or genos who got jumped by the Flyers fans. I told you about that guy who called into the radio station near in New York and said that his buddy is six seven, three sixty pounds. He was sitting in a giant jersey and they hit him in the back of the head. I'm not saying people in Philly aren't nice people. They are, but they take sports very seriously. They're no listen they have aren't they the only stadium in America that has actual jail in the stadium. I think it is. I don't know about that. They do they do? They do? They have a courthouse and a jail right there. That's how bad it is. And I know that Phillies are so fanatical. Philly people are so fanatical about their teams, but they say specifically, okay, so the Eagles, and I got this notion. As we were having our conversation with this text, messages started rolling in say it's scary the jet, the fans, the Philly fans, the Eagles fans. Man, it's a it's a horse of a different color. They're cut from a different cloth. So so they said that you almost can't avoid, you know, getting heckled or getting things thrown at you and whatnot. Um now, but but I have a different approach. You have life insurance. Well, okay, so I'm not gonna wear my Giants jersey or my T shirt or gonna face paint, gonna face paint red and blue. I am going to go. Now. We had two guys going, Now there's four of us going. Uh, and now we're deciding, fucking let's just go plain clothes. Well, mind your own business. Will find a way to cheer when the joint, you know, if the Giant score touchdown. I mean, I guess I'll use my indoor voice as I was told I should do. Will suggested we just, you know, clap in your head, but don't don't cheer or do any make any sudden moves. And and if the Giants are winning by some miracle towards the end of the game, get the funk out of there. Because nothing's worse at the end of an Eagles game then it Eagles fans walking out of the Eagles games during a loss. Okay, So I just took out my phone and I typed in Google Eagles fans because I wanted to search for the story the famous Santa Claus is the story out in the New York Post today about this. Okay, it's a famous Santa Claus story. Go ahead and google it. I'm not gonna get when I when you type in scary, you have your computer, can you go to go Oh my god? Well, actually my computers in use right now for this podcast. So all right, So I'm gonna tell you. What comes up is the Google auto complete game. Yeah, Google autocomplete. So here's what it is. So Eagles fans. The first thing is throw batteries. The second thing is the bad thing is are the worst. And the fourth one is throw snowballs at Santa And so the story goes, they threw they threw fucking ship. They throw batteries or snow at Santa Claus. Snowball is terrible. But listen, I'd like to think that people will respect people that don't you know, that are neutral about the situation. And I'm on at at peace with it. I was scared yesterday. People try to say, oh my god, you're fucking crazy for going. But you know, I got my secret weapon. We got Less my boy, or Less is coming with us. Less is not to be uh reckoned with. So I feel like the presence of less. You know what I'm saying, My man can help my man. Less, he's my man? Oh less, is your was your only black friend? He's not my only black friend? Are you? You're manning the manning Less? My man he knows he's my man. And and and he's coming to the game. So I feel like no one's no one's gonna sunk with us because we got less with us. I don't see the car relation between you being Giants fans and having a friend who I don't This one I don't understand because this one I understand well because I got Well, it's just this safety and I always thought this first of all, I did this safety and numbers right, this four first of all, the four of us. Now here's another, here's another. Okay, so we're not wearing gear, the four of us. I got less with us, and we splurged on amazing seats. We're sitting like in the We're sitting like behind the Giants like area behind the Giants bench. So you know, all the Giants fans are gonna be around us because they're gonna want to see the Giants. So they all bought tickets in that area too, And they're they're right behind the bench, so they were ex pensive. And I feel like the more expensive the tickets are, the classier the fan or the more calm the fan that you will you will experience. We're not sitting up We're not sitting up in the fucking nosebleed seats where where you know, Yeah, yeah, it's like that. It's like that. No, I'm not. I'm not. If you're gonna be at the game sitting upper deck, no, the true as the true assholes are up at the top and you know it. Oh my god, don't insult people who can't afford the expensive boogie seats. Listen. I'm just I don't think digging a hole with minorities. No, I'm not. No, I'm not. No, I'm not. I'm What I'm saying is what I'm saying is the fact that other people around me have paid a pretty penny for those seats. They don't want to get thrown out either, regardless of dude, I wasn't even talking about I'm not even talking about class, or or or situation or financial No, I was not. I What I'm saying is the fact is it's like if I'm spending like a seat. And this guy said that some some big loud mouth drinkers Eagles fans aren't sitting there, that they have seats for that the whole family has had seats for a hundred years. Or if they're why can't rich people be obnoxious because I think they're obnoxious in other ways. I think I think I need you to google something or not even an obnoxious. What I'm saying is they don't want to run the risk of getting thrown out or doing something for doing something stupid. So the fact is, and don't put words in my mouth Google How far can you throw a battery? Because it doesn't matter where you're sitting. If they want to hit you with a battery, they I'm not gonna be in a target. I'm not wearing giants gear. You're gonna stand up when they score touchdowns? We haven't de time is yet. I don't know. Listen Eagles fans. Eagles fans, Uh. If you're gonna throw a battery, it's scary. Just make sure it's not a car battery. Small. All I'm saying is, if I paid a ship ton of money for this ticket, I guaranteed the people around me in that section also paid a ship ton of money. So those people don't want to run the risk of being thrown out of the stadium, is all I'm saying. So they means it's it's a it's a valuable thing, whereas someone who might have spent fifty hundred bucks to get in the city at the top whatever. I think these people are a little bit more rough around. The edges were okay, and that's it, and that's all I'll say. Okay, all right, So I'm trying to do everything I can in my power to like make sure that I'd come back in one piece. That's all. Yeah, I'm glad you're bringing your friend. Was his name again? Less is the man? I don't okay, you should get him on the phone. No, I just don't get why he's gonna keep you saying I'm gonna find Less. No, but you said he he's a man. Can we play that audio? We call Less right now? Hold on, we played the clip first, No, I guess not. No, hell no, Yo, what up? This guy just got back into the city. Yeah, listen, Hey, you're on the Brooklyn Boys podcast by the way, at Scary and Brodie's. This is David Brodie here too. Hey, Less, I told him ahead, we got a little problem. Less, I know your part of scaries bunch, his group, his posse. I get that right. He's traveling with a bunch of guys tomorrow, and we've been talking about how it's not wise to where non Eagles gear, specifically the Giants gear to the playoff game tomorrow. You're looking for trouble And he said, we're all good. My boy Less is coming, He's gonna he's he's he keeps everybody calm around us, and if anything goes down, he will He has my back. Did you know that? Would you say? Less? That's always been my role. Let's let's maybe the one person in our group who actually wears some Giants gear, he was telling me earlier. Yeah right, let's yeah, I'm won't be we won't be excessive while we're at but it's gonna be calling the moss before the degree, so we're gonna have colts on. So yeah, everyone's gonna be bumbled up. Are you going behind tomorrow? Are you gonna be Are you concerned in the least about about tomorrow and uh and our safety? No, because you can't. Let's sall, yeah, you don't want to be. But hey, accordingly, don't you know, don't interact with everybody, all right, So it's totally cool if scary face paints about the face right on one hand, blue on the other. We're gonna be respectful. We're going into their home. But but I get it, but I gotta celebrate a giant's touchdown. I mean, yeah, we're going, we're going to the game, but I might actually pay this with a face pain whatever consequences, whatever consequences come with pet The beauty less the beauty of face paint is you won't be able to see the bruising when he gets hit. Because they're making a lot about they're making they're blowing this up to be something that it's probably not. We're probably worried for no reason. I'm sure the Eagles fans are fine people, right, they are good people with them. Yeah, just don't be excessive exactly, thank you. But ye, when I went to the World Series when I was silly and Houston, I sat next to a family of Houston fans and no one bothered them. So there you go. Okay, Well that was also the sport of baseball, and the Texas carry guns usually I'll mess with Texas alright, but thanks, thanks, buddy. I know you're in transit right now. Appreciate you'll see tomorrow buddy. All right, thanks my man less. But you didn't man him on the phone, now, did he not say he's a big, ripped, well conditioned man. I know I've seen him in your videos anyway. Right, Well, God, God be with you, God be with you, and also with you. Are you like my priest? Oh God? I do have some stuff I've left over, stuff from the cruise situation that I told you I was gonna save. Uh, if I could just throw a couple at you, yeah, of course. I love how that you still have remnants of cruise story? Do you have remnants? So? Uh, when we got off the airplane, we had to go through security again to get on the cruise ship and I got flagged. My bag got flagged. Now I had a soda can in the outside pocket of my backpack, in that little thing that holds soda or an umbrella. And I'm like up there flagging me because you can't bring soda on board. You can't bring like you know, uh, it's metal, and they don't want they don't want to can so um, uh you got you got calls coming in there, Brody, I gotta yeah, I just I just hung up. I hung up. It was important, but it's obvious slices look at that. This is more important. Clearly great, Yes, absolutely, I don't walk away from the from the podcast like you did last week. Anyway. So, so I got flagged and here's why they stopped me. Had to go through extra security, go over to the side. I had a ten inch tall portable steamer clothing steamer, and you're not allowed to bring those on cruise ships anymore. Why well, at least not with Norwegian Cruise Line because um people, um, they're not good for the outlets that the people plug him in with hair dryers and extension cords and they blow the circuits apparently like this is a tiny little steamer. Nope, So they confiscated it and I had to get it back at the end of the cruise. Okay, at least they held it for you. Yeah, it's not like the t s a boarding a flight and they throw your ship in the garbage right in front of you, right in front of him. Uh let's see. Oh I ordered something with um in the in the Los Lobos, the terrific Mexican restaurant on ship, and I said no cilantro, and it came out with cilantro. Now cilantro, No cilantro is is I mean, it's practically Spanish. No cilantro. At first I thought you were speaking Spanish, like it sounds like your your lo ciento or something like. I'm sorry. So here's some of the things I learned. Um, they don't believe in courtesy flushing on cruise ships. So you know, when you're on the toilet, you want to get courtesy flush. You don't want to stink up the bathroom or you're in a public like a work bathroom. You know when you when you do your business, immediately a flush. Then you wipe up your own leisure but you flush courtesy flush well. On the cruise ships, the flush buttons are behind the lid. It's hard to do a courtesy flush because you gotta reach back around. You gotta reach back around behind the lid. It's it's very difficult because they want you to close the lid because it's a vacuum sucks you you know right, it sucks the water out, So they want you to flush with the lid closed, but you're not gonna stand up, turn around, put the lid down, courtesy flush, put the lid back up, turn around, sit down, because it sounds like a dance at a wedding slide. Yeah, so that's that's a problem. Um, fat people in hot tubs. I don't think they realized that they're fat. But I'm not talking about like second quarter of third quarter of fat. I'm talking about like you're very large, like three seats on an airplane large. When you go into a hot tub, you take up the whole side of a hot tub. I get it, no problem. You deserve to be in a hot tub, but you should not be in there for an hour and a half. Right You're you're taking up the entire hot tub or two thirds of it. You should realize no one else can get in a hot tub. So this one guy I told you we had that that adult area on the ship Vibe one hot tub. One hot tub and this giant man and you know he doesn't like cross his legs. He puts his feet all the way out, so he's taking up his feet and taken up one side. His massive body's taking the other side. You maybe could fit in like next to his knee. But that's it. So you know, you know what, I call that my my own personal hot tub because it sounds like no one's fucking getting in with him. It sounds like he pretty much has the Uh, he has the market cornered cornered on the on the private hot tub right for the day. Okay, here's another rule. You're a gambler, so you understand the rules of the casino. I need your opinion. So the three of us, three of my my family, uh, we were gambling. We're playing the slot machines. My daughter wasn't just not old enough, but she was standing with us. They they allowed people, you know, to stand in the casino, unlike real casinos that they don't. And so my daughter wanted us to play this one game, this one machine called honey Bear. Okay, it was really cute and it's like animated stuff and you win and the bear does stuff. Only one in the whole place, and next to it was a jewel game. So my wife sat down at the honey Bear and I sat down at this You have to match the jewels whatever, you know, whatever the fake bullshit is on the on the thing. So we played the for a couple of hour and a half whatever, And my wife wants some money on the honey Bear, and I want some money on the thing. We did well, well, We go to dinner, We come back, and now there's a woman sitting at the machine next to honey Bear. So I can't sit next to my wife while she's playing honey Bear because this woman is sitting there, but she's playing actively, actively, so you don't deserve a seat. You're not gamble then anymore. Then she's not playing anymore, and she's just sitting there, looking at her phone, looking at her drink. So I said, excuse me, can I no, No, it's my machine. Oh okay, all right. So she's there, and and so we leave, we go around the ship, we come back. He's still sitting there. She's not playing, she's sitting there. So my wife sits down in honey Bear again, and we're playing. And I want to sit down and play at the machine. I want on and so I could sit next to my wife because there's no there's no other machine the other side of the machine, somebody playing. Now you want to play, but you want her machine, right, So now you have a right. Now you have a right to have the machine. She doesn't want to get up, so her husband comes over. She goes, baby, watch my machine for me, watch my machine. He sits down on the chair. She goes to the bathroom. We're getting too the drink whatever. And he's a big dude, like bigger than than your boy, less big man, like a hot tub stealing man. And he's just sitting there. I couldn't get to the machine every day on the cruise after the first day, no matter what time I went, this woman was sitting Are you kidding me? And she wasn't. She was either playing or not playing, but she was sitting there. We went early in the we want one o'clock after lunch, she's sitting there. We want at eight o'clock aft at dinner, she's sitting there. I wonder what her strategy was to fucking sit there. But there's something that she knows. I mean, is if the machine gonna pay out at a certain time and day, Like I'll tell you the honey Bear machine paid out and that machine I did well. I did well. I think she did well. I think the machine was like a winning machine. So she played. She sat there and played like I don't know look, I don't know if the machine has there are any different than any other machine, but I want a few more times than i'm currently that I'm accustomed to win on slot machines, and so did she. But it was not expensive. It wasn't like a It was like a twenty five cent machine or whatever. It was thirty cents. And by the way they get you on the casinos. You know what they do, don't you. It's it's twenty five cents. I think what a one credit or something five credits like per spin, and then at night it's thirty spins for the same machine. It's digital, and they change how many, how many points? How many? Uh? You know? Plays you need? How many credits you have? Have you seen that before? No, I didn't know they were doing that. I'm not a big slots guy. I like to play black jack, well I do too, but I'm old school. I play up to ten dollars like black jack and roulette. I don't like the fifteen dollar tables. I feel like it's harder to do the math. I like a ten dollar table that I want to double it. I know it's twenty I want to split my aces. I want to write everything is even. Everything's even, Yeah, mostly so. I plus it's ten dollars, not fifteen dollars. And I don't like to spend a lot of money. So this I was gambling. I don't want to lose. I don't mind losing a hundred dollars, but I don't want to lose a hundred and fifty you know what I mean. It adds up, actually five dollars more, but it adds up. So I didn't I didn't play any black jack. But but so you agree with me that woman should have gotten her ass out of this. Yeah. At that point, if no money is actively coming out of people's pockets into that machine, is not being fed money, then it goes to the next person. You can't just sit there and squat. You can't squat on a damn machine. Thank you? All right? Three more quickies, Uh, don't be elevator put button push your guy. There was a guy he kept he was on our elevator a couple of times because there's only like three rows of elevators. He's the guy who gets on the elevator and stands in front of the buttons and then says, what floor, what floor I'd like to push my own button. Do you do you really care? I don't give a fuck. There, push the button for me. The problem is I which wanted to push the button. I don't want announce the whole floor. I'm going to nine, you're not. It doesn't matter. They're gonna see the button when you press it anyway, it's gonna light up, so who cares. They're gonna know what floor you're going to. But as as people pile into the elevator that he won't move back, so they have to go around him, and half the people on on the cruise elevators that they go along the sides, right, they go along the sides where the railings are around, like the U shape elevator like. They go on the wall, the side, and the side and the back, and then in the middle they all stand by the door and then more people get on. They don't move all the way to the back. They move back like six inches you do, like a shuffle. They go back just enough to let the people on the push my button. I could see that he pushed your buttons because you're talking about it right now. You retained this. I mean, I don't know. But when I get into an elevator. Fucking the less things I need to touch. I mean that the better unsanitary. You know, there's this, there's this, there's this thing out there. I don't know. You may you know, you may have heard about it. There's a lot, a lot going on. There's a lot lot going on. I didn't the cise, but actually, people's hands are fucking filthy anyway, and that button is goddamn dirty, So knuckles. Always use the knuckles. I used my elbow. Oh nice, well, still small and with the guy in the way, it's hard to get to the buttons. Yeah, either way. Um, drunk girl walking by the restaurant. Drunk girl, and she was she was trying to get her friends like we should go as you know how I know she was drunk. She goes it's even thirty pm. Who says PM? Who who says pm? Unless you're drunk? Nobody? That's that's how knew she was trashed. Lastly, I settled yours. The observations. Oh, no, sleep timers on the television in a hotel or a cruise ship, they are you absolutely should have a sleep time or button on the remote for the television. Where are you more likely to fall asleep with the TV on. When you're in a hotel or a cruise ship, no sleep timer, So I had to turn the thing off and sleep in the dark. I hate that. Lastly, I settled a debate with four dudes that were like partially drunk at the Mohito bar. One guy's like, you know what you're talking about. He goes, taking with a grain of salt means it's not true. And the other guy goes, no, take it with a grain of salt means, it's not that serious. You know it's part he goes not only one guy goes, it's partially true. They were arguing over what take it with a grain of salt means? So I went over when I said the guy who was right? I go, this guy's right. They're like that guy knows what he's talking about, So like, let's buy in a drink. So they were like the other guys like, funck, no, he's not right. That's not what great take it with great salt means. So they had these guys were gonna punch each other over what take it with a grain of salt means? Look it up on my phone and show them what it meant. Because they were they were drunk, and then they were like, I mean, you know, funk you, that's not what Rather than get into a fucking altercation about it, I mean, you guys have computers in your pockets. You know they weren't thinking that way. You could two seconds. Can you imagine like you punch your buddy in the face and then like the next day you're like, the wife is like, what happened? Is? Well, we were fighting over what take it with a dude? Anytime I say something questionable, I got five people fact checking me within a minute. Right, but hold on a second, now, that can't be right. Let me try that. And and that's in all my environments, whether or not I'm home, I'm in Brooklyn, on a homeboken or at the radio station. Everyone's like what what They can't believe it's true? Like yeah, but yeah, but I didn't have to get too a fight about it. Geez No. These guys were like one guy was holding another guy back. So that's why I was like, listen, I don't want to interrupt, but you know, they're like, what's your name? I go, David, David, what's your name? You said? I love that viral video. What's your name. Yeah, well you you know the guy who's you know, the guy in that video. The guy in that video is not the guy who says it, of course, guy who does like who does like um ups versus FedEx, yes and coke and PEPSI. He's just using an audio. The rich audio is a guy up on a rooftop. By the way, speaking of TikTok, have you ever have you ever fell into the abyss that is TikTok live where you're literally watching people's live feeds on TikTok. Of course used to do it on periscope. Yeah, it's bad. I did. I feel like everything older is new again. I feel like we've we've done a um, we've done a A three sixty. Because this girl was was on there and she and I think it's a trend now that these people do. She's sitting in the room by herself with a split green waiting for a guy to come in, so like a chat roulette situation where guys come in and out of the room, and she she has a sign over her head and she's not speaking until a fine man enters the room. And so so dudes would come into the room and it was her way of saying, you're an ugly bastard. Where they would try and talk to her and she wasn't and I'm watching this, by the way, so who's the real idiot? And the guys would try and talk to her and she's like nah, sitting there with with the sign of her head and just shaking her head no and not talking and then no, no no, no, no no, I didn't go in the room. I was watching. So then another guy goes in and he looks like a hot dude. This guy is a frat bro and this girl has to be like nineteen. So all of a sudden she holds up another sign age and then and then he's like, all right, you know, I'm I'm I'm seventeen or I'm eighteen, whatever it is, and like and then she writes location and then so she's how and I'm thinking, like, oh my god, this is like America Online from back in the day, a stage location a s L When he's like age set a slash s slash L. I'm like, that is this but in this but for now, and and I what but I get to be I'm watching this happen in front of me. And then she finally starts talking to the dude and then she's like private places. They keep be doing this, I don't know. But then this dude started talking or they have a conversation and ten minutes and I'm like, what are the funk am I watching these two hook up? What the funk am I doing this? This is terrible? Give me at this place? Sorry boy, yeah, no, it's right. Oh um uh something quick and then we gotta take a break real quick. Right on the heels of the What is internet? Remember what is internet? Of course? Right of course that is you know the Brant Gumble clip from the Today Show when they had no idea what the internet? Paul? What is what is internet? What is internet? Anyway? And some kind of right, yeah, if you haven't seen the video, there's plenty of videos at that now. Coming off the heels of that. Yesterday or I think this week is like twenty years of iPhone, I mean the iPhone turned Um how old did the iPhone turned twenty? I guess so on the heels of that, people have dug up this clip and have been putting it on YouTube and Instagram and TikTok of Regis and Kelly on the on the on on the show, on the ABC Show, on the Morning Show, I'm talking about the day that Apple is going to release the iPhone. Listen, listen to how fucking crotchety of a cromudgeon Regius sounds and how he doesn't make sense. Yeah I do. Oh hold on, I'm I wasn't prepared. Let's see here. Let me turn on my broadcaster to shut up, Dick, you're the word. Do you know what that big announcement is today with the iPod? You? Does anybody know what? You know? I don't know. They're speculating and iPhone that you're going to be able to talk on the phone with your iPod. You know what? Tell us why? It's a bad idea. It's like the computer, and what are you good to do? Carry the phone and carry the phone over here? Carry the iPods? Ridiculous, so many things to carry. That's the idea. It's one device, it's an iPod on the phone. I don't like it. Okay, first of all, First of all, that's the whole point. Yeah, he trying to tell it's one device and just ma I don't like it. I don't like it, like he literally wash you know, he was wrong to begin with, but yet he just continued to double down on it. But my favorite part is the idiotic audience, idiotic studio audience. Here, do you know what that big announcement is today with the iPod? You? Does anybody know when and iPhone? That you're going to be able to talk on the phone with your iPod? You know what? You know what? And the audience breaks out, breaks out into hysterical laughter. He didn't say anything because the audience is old and they expect him to say something funny that they're going to agree with. That's how it works. So at some point, at some point, you don't actually don't have to be funny. You don't have to actually be funny. You just have to have it all here. You just have an audience. What was saying? That's what you're here. At some point you just have to exist. Hi, I said something, laugh And I just find it hysterical that that we just just couldn't grasp it at that point. I mean, no one knew what it was. But they weren't even listening to He wasn't even listening to what they were telling him. They were telling him it's going to be one device. Do you think there's any major invention that people didn't go Like the plane. Do you think people were like, so it goes in the air, y'all get on that. Like do you you think like microwaving food? You think people like put stuff in a box. We're like, yeah, I'll nuclear reactor my food. Right, Like, what did you create? I mean it's let's I mean, listen, the iPhone even though I don't I mean I don't. I don't use the iPhone. But the iPhone revolutionized the world. Android made it better. But oh, did you say the iPhone revolutionized the world? It did an I said, And that does not matter. First, yeah, they were the first, were the first, well they were the first to get credit for the other people made phones. But no, the first iPhone was amazing, The first iPod was amazing, The first iPad was amazing. Doesn't mean people can't improve on it, but they get You know, the best sneakers on the market aren't the first sneakers created. The best cars weren't created by Carl Benz. I have a sneaker question for you when we come back. We'll come back, all right, what's your sneaker question? Are you, as a Jewish person offended that I still that I that I have yeasies from way back from two years ago. You could check the episode. Uh and I still and I still wear them. Okay, scary. What kind of car do you drive? A BMW? Right, if you go to the Holocaust Museum, they have um doors, massive steel doors that were the doors to the ovens that the Germans killed Jews in. Oh Boy. On the door it says manufactured by BMW the Varian motor works. Right. I think I actually know where you're going with this, and this is a very intelligence. You're about to give me a very intelligent answer. The Volkswagon the vokes Yes, I was gonna say, the concept of the Volkswagon volkes This means folks and wagon his car um and so Hitler wanted a car of the people, which is where the name Vokeswagen comes from. He commissioned it. Look, the details are sketchy for me. If I'm off by Lilian have to tweet me. But the basic just is it was his sort of idea to have a car that was affordable and uh, you know whatever. So, yeah, there's a lot of history of I'm sure there's uh racists and slave owners who made things. I can't get caught up in now. Look, if if Hitler made a car today, I wouldn't buy different. Story different, But as far as as far as easy. Uh, Kanye West saying stupid ship about lots of different kinds of people. His sneakers that you bought a while ago don't offend me. If you bought sneakers from him today, I wouldn't be offend it. I'm not running out and buying sneakers from her. Look. I had an uncle who who was born he escaped the Holocaust. He would never buy a Volkswagen. He just wouldn't buy a German car. He just never let you, never let it go. I get it. It was the time of his life, you know, and whatever. So for people that, for people that are upset yet yet they they may own a BMW or Volkswagen, that they're hypocrites because I caught a lot of I caught a lot of flak for for continuing to wear them. I mean, I don't wear them every day, but they're part of my closet and they fucking cost me a fortune at the time, so I'm going to continue to wear them. But if I'm being serious here now, this is not a joke. This isn't a bit. Don't don't go around so you don't. No, I'm not gonna point at them either. But like someone I posted something on Instagram, posted a picture of mind and a picture and then someone zoomed hyper zoomed in on my fucking foot and they're like, oh, you're still wearing the Yeasies. Huh. Now, And again for those who don't know Kanye as you know said some really fucking stupid anti semiticis okay, right, and and Yeasies are owned were owned by him. But but by the way they um Adidas dropped him, so everyone dropped him, right. The point is you're not giving Look, I don't judge what other people do. If you're not anti Semitic and you buy Yeasies, and it doesn't change the game whether I you know Brodie, I first of all, it doesn't. It doesn't change whether him or not. Does not mean promoting. But then some but I just speak for me, but then some yeah, but we I someone someone texted me and they were like, that's like, that's like waving to the flag. You know, that's like waving a a Nazi flag. It's not No, it's not because you gotta see that and people see you stay see the yeasy, they know it's made by him, and he's he's forever, he's forever associated with it. If you wear a shirt that you just bought that says Kanye was right and you probably have an opinion, right, if you're wearing easies you bought years ago when he was just the gold digger guy. Uh, it is what it is. But if you stop buying merchandise and music from every person with an issue or a problem we hate, Uh, there's a lot less to buy and shop for. Look, my I could tell you my more my favorite bands are. I don't know how they feel about religion or sexual orientation or politics. It doesn't change you know, that's that's not doesn't change how you feel about their music. And you know, I mean, I don't want to get into deeper than this. But then we go into the we start getting into the R. Kelly conversation, and then Michael Jackson should they stop playing the music because you know, I gotta be honest, Um with R Kelly, like his people, he's pretty much vanished from the radio. I mean, so for what for some reason? Where where we are going to stand on that hill. But let's ignore Michael Jackson's hill. Yeah, let's ignore that. Let's continue to play thriller and all of Michael Jackson into that. I know, but it's fascinate. One guy was convicted and one guy was not, but the same question, guys much better than the other guy. And so that's why people tend to overlook when they like a guy. I guess the bigger question is it's a song commission remix comes on? The biggest was my one of my favorite songs of the two thousands. Now I don't even listen to it, but like is is are people gonna start, like, you know, going crazy because that song by that guy came on? Or I don't know, do you associated with I don't know, it's it's it's it's a very I just want to wear my usies. That's all. Okay, you've give you validated me because your opinion counts, and and I actually put a lot of stock in your opinion. So thank you. Well, I will say, speaking r Kelly, there's a song that was driving me crazy. It's on. It's one of my daughter's favorite songs of the past six months. So whenever she takes over my car radio with her playlists. I have to hear the the Conan Gray uh playlist. And there's a song and every time I hear it, I go, what is this song? Why is it? What is it sampling what? And And there's a part of the chorus that goes then bam bam and bam bam bam, bam bamt and bam bam and bam mamma. It's remixed to Ignition. It's the part where he goes, it's my it's the remix to Ignition, fresh out the kitchen, and it's it's the same chorus with different lyrics. And just about two weeks ago I realized it was our Kelly song. But now when you google it, it's like people other people are saying it that it sounds the same. But anyway, speaking of Conan Gray, he's very talented, talented man, very talented man, very talented. Doesn't get the airplane deserved um, not that I would hear it. I don't listen to pop. Oh. Number one song is Miley Cyrus right now right flowers? Yeah, Nack Obama's the flowers. I mean literally, it's like words word with when I'm when I'm your man from Bruno Mars. She's talking to him. It's almost back and forth and then and it sounds like can't get you out of my head from Kylie Minogue. I'm just saying, all right, so, oh, I don't I don't know. Did you have something you wanted to say right now? Because um no, you said you had something you were saving for today that was gonna blow the little off the podcast. No, No, I didn't, Yes, you did yesterday. I said you said I got something for the podcast. I'm gonna save it for tomorrow. It's gonna it's gonna piss people off. It's gonna got something to think about. I'm gonna need you for this, brod A. You're gonna need to help me with this. And I was like, okay, great, I don't even know what it was. I I my mind has been melted. But you gotta keep a note. I was on the phone with the Jersey kid Greg t oh, well that's why, and that's your well his daughter walked. His daughter walked into the room, and he cups the phone and goes, not now, mother phone and uncle, scary scary. I'm like, he's called you that since they were born. I know, and I I can't be considered uncle. Scary Uncle scary can't be I said. So he goes, I said, I said, dude, I'm not I'm not their uncle. And he and he goes, oh you hear that, ella ella h scary just said he's don't call him uncle anymore. He's not your uncle. And I'm like, no, don't tell her that fucking was stop. And I'm like, I said, t I'm like, you give to understand it. Stand something. When you say uncle, it encompasses so much more. If I'm their uncle, how must they feel about the job I've done as their uncle all these years? Because terrible I don't buy him on that birthdays presents. Right, you can go down the list. I've been as distant from them as I could possibly be, other than occasionally stopping by their house and saying hello to them. But so I said, I can't be their uncle by definition, and uncle is so much more uncles do not even the Godfather. I didn't baptize them nothing, so even then, in spirit, I mean, you know by name, you call them uncle when you you know when you baptize someone and that that you're the godfather. But honestly, dude, no, thank you. I'm However, there's got to be more to it, right right, what do you what do you mean? Well, Trish got on the phone Gregty's wife and said, scary. You have to understand something. They've called you that when we were when they were growing up and they were babies, we had friends and then we had you, and we wanted to differentiate between friends and you. You're closer than friends, and there is no official term for that, So in simplest form, we named you uncle. So your uncle scary to them because that's what we've always told them, that's uncle scary. So so your girlfriend get aunt uh status? No, No, she's just robin to them. But when Trish told me that, it put it in perspective, and I said, you know, that is the nicest thing. And when the kids don't have to like you, but she she and ant like you. I had. I had aunts and uncles that weren't related to me. I I didn't realize it right away, but I was eventually told. So my mother went to went to um grade school with someone, junior high school, middle you know, high school. They went to college together. They met their husbands at an event, you know, and so they were friends before I was born, god, you know, thirty years whatever. So we we we went everywhere with them. We went to the beach with them, We went on road trips bach. So to me, their kids, their sons were like cousins to me, and I called I called the parents uh and and uncle. Okay, Now I got when I got older to like I was, you know, maybe fifteen sixty, and I stopped because I realized, you know, I was, you know, whenever I was old enough to talk to them like they were adults, I stopped doing that. I just called them by their first names. But until then, I because also as a kid, you know, you feel awkward about like what to call adults in your life. You don't always and you don't want to call him by that first name because that's borderline disrespectful depending on what you're not gonna call him, like Mr. Mr Jones, Mr. Smith, because they're practically family like you do. You spend holidays together and you go so they we I called them uncle and aunt because that was a polite thing to do, and they would like family. They may have brought me hanakah presence. I don't remember, but probably they were better aunt uncles to me than you've been to the these kids. I would just say take it as an honor, and that's that's what I do. Now. I'm like, wow, Okay, when you put it in that light, then okay, then I am. I am their uncle, and I'm proud to be one. I'm proud to be a good for nothing uncle that has never been there for them. Yeah, I would just not like offer to drive them play. This is in your white van. That's all that's gonna go to school. Yeah, my my special uncle drives me around in his van, So don't do that. Otherwise, I think you're fine. We've got some sound have talks and weed to that i'd like to read. Oh good. Also, I've got some um some more bad jobs that were sent to me. And I also need to Scary need you to help me. I got into a fight on Instagram with a guy about pizza. So when you're ready for that, I need your help. Wow. That's a lot. That's a lot. Let's let's let's do that right now. Okay, alright, so Scary, what are the main two types of pizza in New York? When you go for a two different pizzas, round and square, round and Neapolitan. Well, round is the Apollo round, round is the Apolitan Neapolitan and Sicilian round. The first thing you said was round and square, right, round and square. Okay, thank you. No, I didn't tell you to say that. No. So I in my Instagram feed, this pizza guy comes up. He's reviewing pizza and he's at a Brooklyn pizza place. I think it doesn't matter the name of the place, and he's eating a Grandma slice, which is a thin, square pie. Thin, not really Sicilian. It's not thick and fluffy, but it's a It's a Grandma slice, that's what it's called. So in the video, the guys calling it a square slice. Yeah, I got a slice of square with with pepperoni on it. So one person writes, so this this one person writes, what the funk is a square It's called the Sicilian slice. Um, shake my fucking head. Uh smh. Right, things have changed. And so then someone else wrote, I think Sicilian is much thicker and fluffier than the square. I guess right, so I, so I said. Sicilian is often is also referred to as a square pie in New York. This is this, in fact, is a Grandma slice, which is not scili in but still square. And then I made a joke. I'm from benson Hurst, Brooklyn. I have a pizza badge, like an obvious joke. The first guy writes back, a pizza bag badge who gives a ship? Who you inspect a gadget? Get the funk out of here. I lived in Brooklyn, born and raised. You fucking say a square pizza and Howard Beach, which by the way is Queens. In Howard Beach, you'll get thrown out. If you were born and raised in New York City, you call it a Sicilian period. You want to be a tourist, you call it a square. He's obviously Italian because he wants he wants you to say it by the call right now, he's calling me a tourist. And he's also the same guy who would hang his Italian flag upside down, red, white, and green. Guaranteed that's right. So here's what I wrote, the same kind of person I wrote back, not shore where your effing attitude is coming from. I was being facetious about the badge. Howard Beach uh is in Queens. It's no more legitimate New York than Brooklyn is. Every place has signs that said square and round. More importantly, the pizza in his video is not Sicilian. It's a Grandma slice. It's thin crust. We could all love pizza and all of New York without insulting each other. Relax, Yeah, that's fair. So then, since he referenced Howard Beach, I looked up what is the most famous place in Howard Park Pizza? Thank you? New Moopark Pizza. So I googled images of the menu at New Park Pizza. I love it, and Brodie goes the extra mile, so I wrote, So, I wrote back, I just googled an image of the menu at New Park Pizza and Howard Beach. Guess what The menu on the wall says, round and square slices might drop? You said you did? Did you the emoji of the mic drop? No? I did not, because I was voice texting, and and and what did he say? He has not responded in three days, of course, not fucking douche. I fucking hate guys like that. Yeah, Oh, wait a minute, I think there was more. There may have been more. Oh he did right back, You're wrong, And I wrote, back something to the effect I didn't screenshot it, but I wrote back on something I said, you know, there's a couple of different types of people in the world, the people that know stuff, the people that think they know stuff. And you're one of those guys who thinks you know stuff and doesn't want to learn and spend the rest of his life in ignorance. That's where I left. It is bliss, of course, not because he's Yeah, so I ain't not. I am not Italian, but anyone listening to this podcast slice as you know, I'm as Italian as anybody who was an Italian. Oh my god, I got goosebumps right now. It's square. I still got goosebumps. Who that was? And I asked you your Italian? What do you call him? You're like square, round, round and square, dude. Yeah, you don't have to say, Oh God, I hate people. I hate people hate You're round, slices, triangular. M hmmm, just saying all right, that sounds like it's mail time. Welcome, you've got mail. You can still email us and people still do the Brooklyn Boys podcast at gmail dot com. Um, all right, so we got a an email from Bobby Brooks Now this is a visual, but he was that's gonna work on a podcast, you know, but I'm gonna describe to you. He was inside the grocer's refrigerator and it was a prepackaged salad with a professional looks like it's mass produced from tailor farms. It's called the folks over a tailor phone. Yeah, it's called the everything Avocado Salad. Uh. Here are the ingredients of what's in there ready for this? Iceberg and green leaf blend, hard boiled eggs, Jack Colby cheese blend, carrots, everything seasoning and a fork included. What's missing the avocado? Of course it is. The avacacado is fucking missing. How do you call yourself and everything avocado salad when there's no god damn avocado. And I'm looking and it's in cellophane, and you could see the salad beneath. I see the cheese. I don't see any I don't see any avocado in there. I'm looking, I see I see the eggs, I see the carrots, I even see the cheese. That's hilarious. So thank you for that little submission there, Bobby Brooks. I love you. Was on the heels of what I did a bunch episodes ago where it was like, uh, sausage something, and there was no sausage list as an ingredient. We have a listener to Teresa or Teresa ray Pack formerly from Woodbridge, New Jersey and now living in Vero Beach, Brooklyn Boys. I started listening to you both since the beginning and previously on Elvis Duran Show for years. Love you both, love your podcast. Here's a story where I got my free dessert. I ordered a large litter box from a company. We have a huge cat who was too big for any litter box that we were able to mind. So I got an alert on my phone that it was that it was delivered, but it wasn't. My husband had seen the UPS truck go by and drop a box off at a neighbor's across the street I was. After I got the alert, I figured I would go over to the neighbors to see if the box was hours it was. I knocked on the door to let the neighbor know I was taking the box because it was mine. There was no answer. I took the box anyway, after I had already notified the company that I never received. After this was after I had already notified the company I never received my package. They said they would re send me a new litter box. Did I call them to let them know that UPS delivered the box to the wrong house? Hell? No, I just got my second litter box for free BAM free dessert? Now? Or is that stealing? Is that? Is that? I mean they he even deserved free dessert in that in this case? Or no, I don't know, because she got the box before she could get you know what I'm saying, Like, it wasn't their fault. It wasn't the company's fault that it was delivered to the wrong house. It was the driver. Well was it the Amazon truck? Because Amazon has its own trucks now probably Well, then it's Amazon's fall technically, Yeah, but was she? I don't know. I don't think I listen. I may have told the story. We've done toward forty four episodes at this point, right including zero. I would say to you that I think I told the story about getting some part from my dishwasher or my fire twice. So I've gotten things twice, right, I have something blew away in the wind. So I called and they gave me a free one and then I neighbor found it up the block or whatever, so I end up with both. Uh you really should send one back technically, but you know, um, all right, yeah, alright? How about this email from dude? His name is? That was what the header says, Ryan from New Mexico. Uh, gentlemen, Uh, slice for life here, I think, I guess. I don't know. That's a commitment I can't make. I can't even stay with one pair of underwear for more than a day anyway, I feel that, Uh what is on here? No, that's just oh he searched at. I drive a lot. My radio is a shore radio, so it's all podcasts for me. I've been listening backwards. Yes, yes, fuck you, I do what I want. Listening backwards has its rewards, Like the inaugural episode where Katie Babbs was revealed. I was like, this is it, this is it, this is so basically he heard his play Katie Babs follow up clips. But then he so he likes the fact that then he finds out that this was the first episode where we mentioned her. I don't know, man, he listens in reverse. Uh an oddity of nature. Anyway. Another reward you you Fox quit talking about all the great food you're stuffing your faces with because of COVID times and now you've got to stay home. I know what great food you all get to eat up there and here in New Mexico there's not much diversity, much less authentic Italian food. I run my life basically staring all the time. You know, you guys kill you with your food chat. I know what I'm missing. Don't ever change scary boogie bastard, all white everything and Eames chair you put in the corner. Brodie, you didn't blink when he said he had has a more comfortable chair. Brodie, you know more how much an Eames chair even costs. I have a knockoff Eames chair and that fucking thing is beyond words. Live it up, Scary, Good for you. Love the podcast. Your new mike does sound better, Brodie. You you're the first person to mention it. There you go. Thank you so much for the both of your content and entertainment. As I drive a territory larger than Italy with a population of Hoboken. You guys are my bros on the road. You're my bro road bros. Keep me seeing what kind of Eames chair do you have. I didn't. I didn't. I've got the Eames. I've got them. I've got they're both white, by the way. Uh there, I got the executive and I got the I don't know, the original one that that made them famous, the one that's in the the Museum of Modern Art. Executive chair. Let me see what that looks like. Yeah, the executive. Look up the executive anyway. I think that's it for email. Actually, oh, motherfucker, it's my chair baby in white. Yeah, we got that's better. Right. Wow, here's an email from someone who has Brody is wrong, and literally it's too long to read, but the idea of the email is funny. He went through all the episodes, I guess, and made a fucking list of all the fucking things that you've done wrong, and he's documented him episode by episode, says Brodie is wrong. So I can't read it here. It's just gonna take up too much time. But I'm gonna phoe you say, Oh, you don't want to say it. You know you don't want him pointing out your your glaring mistakes episode by episode. Listen, we are doing a live to tay podcast. Are sometimes we say things that aren't accurate. We stutter, we stammer. We don't take out ship like other podcasts do. Other podcasts are polished for you made a mistaken episode forty three, for instance, I'm just making up a number. I mean the number existed before I made it up. I didn't really make it up. I'm just randomly picking a number. Uh. I may have learned the proper answer and may have corrected myself episodes later. We've been doing this for seven years, right, so I actually wet rephrase that we've been doing it for five years, five and a half years. But it's the seventh we did in two. It's the seventh calendar year, even though we'ven't have been doing it five and half years. Talk about what you wanted to get into, and then we'll play some quick talkbacks. All right, Uh, Dave d m me, Dave Schwartz. Just listen to Brooklyn Boys and Toto. Also what the swart Huh? By the way, speaking of mel Brooks movie love mel Brooks, I could not be anymore because idea. But that was a spaceballs quote For those who didn't follow um in nine, I want to say it was one. I could be off by a month, but at mel Brooks released a movie called History of the World Part one. Never had an intention of doing a sequel, and at the end of the movie they did a clip and now scenes from History of the World Part two, and there were a couple of things that were supposed to be There was never gonna be a sequel, but it was like Jews in Space and it was like a flying Star of David Spaceship. There was a couple of like four or five scenes of the sequel that was never supposed to be. That was the joke. Well, forty one years later, forty two years later, this year on Hulu will be six episodes of History of the the World Part two. I hope they actually referenced some of those scenes that they put in the well, that's why Jews in Space was trending on Twitter the same day of the announcement. They better have those scenes in the in the thing, Okay. So anyway, so Dave says, I've had the same experience with finding a new job. So ridiculous. I've spent the last thirteen years in electronic life safety technology sales and product management, and I get emails from a company that rhymes with blip ms snooter. Uh, like we found the perfect fit for you. We'll line cook. I have no food service experience or interior designer experience, yet I keep getting job offers. Um, my experience in LinkedIn is far better. Yep, I agree. Okay, I was offered jobs this week that were perfect for me. In house studio photographer for New York based women's activewear brands. So it's a great job for you, David Brody take pictures of women in activewear. Jersey City astrophysicist. What a fucking creep, asoi you would be if you got that gig, like fucking drooling with your fucking android camera and like, wait a second, don't you have don't you have professional equipment? No? I just got this camera here because just just right, so obviously I'm sling blade Jersey City astrophysics instructor. That's right up my alley. Senior court reporter. Well they got the senior part. Uh well, entertainment associate game master for a video game company. Now wait just a second, why not I can't design video games? To designer job that okay? Yeah? Uh theater tech, sound lighting, stage management. Okay, okay, I'm gonna save that one. For last dynamic tour guide. What does that mean? There's the statue, liberty. You'd make a great you'd make a great tour guide. You really would. Yeah. Actually, don't discount that one just yet. Just go back to the day, you know. Yeah, welcome to New York home. Okay. Uh And this one again not making fun, But they offered me I should apply for this job. This was listing. So I'm gonna tell the email. It says I've promoted your zip recruiter Zip recruiter. By the way I'll say it, I've I've promoted your zip recruiter profile ten times to these top employers. Take a look at their open rolls. You'd be perfect for them. And it's it's from Phil your ai personal recruiter. Okay, they've recommended me. They've wasted the time of this company to offer me a chance to apply for associate director at the Alzheimer's Disease and Brain Health Communications Institute. Nailed it, Store manager of Tommy Hill Figure in Newark, New Jersey. Well, you have this experience under your belt. You managed all kinds of businesses, that's right, from Starbucks to chuck E Cheese and a couple of clothing stores, bartender at the Red Bull Arena. No, I don't see you slinging drinks right at that right, and uh, these aren't as much of a stretch though as Kraftmaga childcare infant teacher. Okay, I'm out, I love it. We got some talkbacks. Yes, let's let's listen. Yeah, if you listen on the Heart radio app, you have this addited advantage of pressing and holding the microphone button and you can talk back to us as you're listening. Two episode to one where this one came from let's listen to this anytime. Hey, Scary, This is Renee from Leinster. Just got done listening. Agree with Bertie, it is Sam. Maybe you should forget to take her to work or tell her she needs to find another way, because she definitely threw you under a bus there, buddy. All that was because you weren't invited to hang out with Calla, Marie and Anthony when they came. Oh yeah, yeah she really did, you know what? Very yeah? Thank you like that, team Scary. Hey babe, hey, maybe this is the podcast. I knew it right away when you started talking about I Want Um. Someone recommended it to me and I immediately said, this is kind of like the Brooklyn Boys, and I think you guys are better. But you're both funny, but you guys a better heybe was Hey Babe. He just Boba booeed us basically hey babe. Oh why is there? Is that a thing with other podcasts where they encourage people. The Hey Babe podcast, if I remember correctly, um it is is uh Christa Stephano a friend of ours we loved and sal also a friend of ours from The Practical Jokers count and they do a podcast which, by the way, I've listened to, Uh, it's very funny. It's not the podcast I referenced a few weeks ago that I said, I listened to what was boring? But they but they they they have episodes called Hey Babe. Like they're turning to Hey Babe. That's cool, that's sort of they have Boba bowie. We're friends, it doesn't matter. That doesn't bother us one bit. So I don't know if they were like saying they love the Hey Babe podcast and also like us whatever, We love them big fans, Oh my god, broody and scary. Love you guys, but scary, Oh my god, stop yelling at Brody about his microphone. Just because he didn't spend one trillion, three hundred thousand dollars on his system like you did, doesn't mean his sounds bad. It sounds just fine. So it's winding about his microphone already. It's more annoying here and you yell about it than it is listening to him talk to his mike. Guys, But you know what I did, everyone, I did America a fucking service by forcing and yelling over and over and over again about your goddamn microphone. Because you guess what you did. You finally went out, you got it fixed, and now you sound great. I got a new microphone. You sound like butter Well, she doesn't have to complain anymore because I won't be complaining plaining. You don't have to complain complaining. Yeah, she does have to complain about me complaining because I'm never gonna complain again because your microphone sounds amazing. Alright, very good, Brody and scary Scary and Brodie. This is days from Connecticut on the check in. I just wanted to let you guys know. Obviously you know me. I've been on this podcast too many times, but I have been listening from zero and now your bitches, And I just want to say that I know that you guys have it in you to one time both say Brooklyn at the same time at the end of the jill. Maybe one day we'll say Brooklyn at the same time, but not for a while now. But we're not doing it on purpose. There's just a slight delay. There's a delay. And there's this podcast, you know, scary calling up Carter Marie to chew her out for not inviting him to a gathering. That just seriously like blows my mind that you would even have the balls to even do that. You know, maybe they didn't watch to in your upset that they didn't. It's just it's crazy. I'm blown away that you would even that I would even want to call her, would even that I would confront her. He can't even I'm from Brooklyn, dude, I don't I don't run away. This isn't like we don't talk behind each other's backs. We just say what we mean, We mean what we say, We confront the situation. But more importantly, we we live in a different world, Like we live in a world of entertaining people, so we're more apt like I don't know if Scary would call his his friend, you know, from Brooklyn that didn't invite him to a thing. We do it because Carla Marine knows that we're doing it and we're trying to be entertaining about it. But also deep down he wants to know why I wasn't invited when we still want to get my answer at the same time content she also wants to know. Hey, these iss Hey, Scary, fuck the bathroom, fuck the tile, fuck everything. Just buy a new apartment by a two bedroom. There's like seven buildings being built right now in Jersey City, New Jersey. Get one with the pool in it so you can go and lounge by the pool a day. But I don't paper, so you'd be cheaper. And maybe you can get that popcorn ceiling you love so much. I hate sucking popcorn ceilings. Ah, they suck, but yeah, you know you are right one. Why am I sitting here? Isn't that the tail wagging the dog Brodie? Because I said my my bathroom needs updating and he's like, yeah, I'm just sucking. Get ahold new apartment. Fuck it. I don't know. It seems weird to me, but anyway, Hey, brody and scary. This is Jacob here in Arkansas, and I was listening to two forty one and when you got all got to the talkbacks at the end of the episode, one of them was in regards to door Dash, and the gentleman on there was partly right. We we do want to try and keep our orders averaging around two dollars a mile um. And from what I've been told, it has to do with tax purposes. You hear that one, Brodie, tax purposes. I don't even remember what what what were we talking about? He uh h wait a second. Wasn't this door Dash? Yes, yes, yes, yes, but he was on It doesn't say what episode he was listening to. I was trying to look that up. Well, you were complaining about door Dash a couple of weeks ago. From what's been told to me, it has something to do with our taxes at the end of the year. Since we are self employed, were responsible for those um. But if we can keep an average income per mile when we do our breakdowns, gives us a slight buffer. Okay, thank you. Oh oh, I know why it was tipping based on distance rather than how much the food was. Oh, he was trying to justify that that was the right way to do it right. That that makes sense? Now, okay, alright, alright, okay. Oh my god, I almost crashed my car with the zeeman scared you want to put the zem in your visitor. Oh my god, I'm losing it. I love you guys, Plice for life, Carly, Jason Day Curly. By the way, I love that he just gave his name like that. Ziemen Is is uh bot as a type of bowtaxally Yeah, yeah, yes, I got a little bit of that. Still still holding strong, by the way, Yeah, it gets hardens after a while. You monster down the pants. Here. When Brody was negotiating for how much percentage he would get for selling Scary's broadcaster pro for him, he said, because eighteen is lucky for Jews. All I kept thinking, as a fellow member of the tribe, is oh, Brody, gotta high percentage. High. She's making Hebrew jokes. I like that. That was very good. That was a Hebrew he wrote, pun That was right. Yeah, yeah, you need a little more in your put a little more in your little europe two. Talking about how people die in ease. I've been working in an assisted living since I was eighteen and I'm thirty six. I think, um, it does it happens in threes? Our residents die in pairs of threes, then we'll go two months, three months, and then another set of threes. That's what it means. I know, you know, that's what it means by threes. But it does happen Bay. For the record, even though is gonna ship all over you, you'll still I would consider that anecdotal evidence that that it happens coincidentally in your place. That's fine, But I was specifically saying celebrities don't die in threes. Uh so we may we may both be right, good boy. If if let's say two old people die and you're it's just living home, everybody else has to be on edge at that point. No, I would say, so right, Like, so if that was true, you're gone on what like when one person dies, I get it, But when a second person dies, do they not tell anybody? Oh my god, I'm next, right, because then you're like someone's gonna go or like, let's say let's say that was true. Let's say that actually work that way. Right, Let's say two people with dad and you were bringing your mother dad to move in, and you would you ask like I wouldn't bring my mother to move in, right, but would you would you ask like, are you are you up to one or two? If they're up to two deaths, you can't put your mother in that place because someone's going. So what a morbid conversation. Let's move on. Move on, Scary Jones, you're complaining about be real because you're being real because you won't look good at it. You're you're being real. You even said you were being real, and David Brody, scary. What you want is being Instagram so you can take your hundred pictures, get that filtered just right here. You need be Instagram. You already on that, all right? I love you. Keep them coming, Keep them coming, Brooklyn boy down here in southwest Florida. Um, Brodie, you're talking about the job area, the recruiter of sorts that gives you a job in a day. And uh, I've been using them for a couple of years now, and I have my degree in biology and I get receptionist jobs. UM, party planning job it ended. I think this is more this maybe part two or you gave up Nick here again in Southwest Florida, Another one I have with that same type of company is UM applying for biology positions. They'll get back to me with UM waitresses, leader's chefs, UM, tour managers, UM than CEOs of me, your corporations. And I didn't know all it took to be a CEO was to exist only ship? Man? How many? How many commercial breaks do you guys have? An episode to forty two? What the hell is going on the same same as it ever was halfway through the ship? Come on, man, I'm using them commercial brakes to take up a time. It's always four and we have to do it. We're required, we're contracted to do it. We don't want to do it. I'm sorry, buddy. He has to understand how the ship works around here. We don't just get to call our own shots. Who's up to us? We have no fucking commercials? Oh god? Well you know, well, you know I gotta do what you gonna do. I mean television shows have I mean on television commercials? Yes? What it is? I just sucked this up all right here? Oh my god, Jenny here from Queens. Whatever up? Um? It relates into episode to one when you guys are talking about Red Dog. I just want to say, scary. You are a fucking boogie bastard, bro, Like, how do you not know what a socket is? What you're describing with the push bans blah blah blah blah blah. Yeah, I get it. It's not a fucking screwdriver, bro, it's a socket. Come on, like, clearly, you never have to hold a fucking flashlight for your dad. You've never been one of those kids. Never. Yeah, he's right, he's right, Yeah, I have. I have three socket wrench sets. One of them's Metric. I think I didn't know it was another name for a screwdriver socket. I've never heard the word socket. It's not another name for a screwdriver. It's a socket wrench, a socket wrench off you take off bolts. I still don't know what you're talking about. You're talking you might as well be talking Chinese to me. I have no clue. Okay, a socket wrench for everyone else. First of all, you just google it. But it's a tool that allows you to turn bolts and draw and drive understand and video now. But but it goes half and then resets so you can you can you don't have to go round and a round and around. Okay, I got you, all right, that's a simple explanation. California. This is Alex by the grammatically incorrect me and it's three hey d. On the Big Show, they were talking about Mariah Carey song seemen on the face and stuff, and there was a golden opportunity missed to make fun of scary. That's why we need Brodie on the show mission Brod. Alright, Oh, yeah, there's there's a there's a Mariah Carey song. Uh it's called without You, I think, and it's an old song and it's she she mistakes the word. It sounds like she's saying the semen. Oh I can't forget the semen. But she says this evening. But yeah, we made we made a big deal out of that on this show. We made a big deal out of that. Oh my god. Well you know, I'm sorry. I wasn't there for it. Okay, here go. So I'm listening to the episode to forty one and you're talking about the guy getting two dollars per mile they drive for DoorDash. Yeah, you must live in a rural area, because I'll tell you what, living in the city, if I got two dollars for these orders that I get sometimes and I only have to drive right down to three blocks. It's not worth it. That guy, that guy is out of his mind unless he's driving ten plus miles every delivery. Probably the case. Yeah, all right and almost at the end. Hey, what's up, guys, Brodie Scary Scary Brodie. Ralph here from Saint Augustine, Florida. Hey, guys, Clean dirt means that there's like no trash and stuff in it. Sometimes you get filled dirt and it's got plastic um, all different types of trash and its little pieces of metal, sometimes concrete. Clean dirt just means it's straight up dirt, nothing else in it, all dirt. Hope that help there you go. See, so it's clean even though it's dirty. Right, it's dirt, but it's yeah, you're taking it literally, it's dirty and clean, correct the same Yeah, same time here, all right, very good, Hi boys. Christie saddle Brook here, Slice for Life, Brody. Every show you mentioned we watch. My husband and I are on the same page as you with our TV viewing sands fair. Never heard of it, but we're going to check it out now. And yeah, totally thought of you with the white Lotus guy. I said, Brodie would have had this wrapped up in twenty four hours. I'm glad to hear though, that you wouldn't have voted your whole vacation doing it. Keep on slicing, kids, now, kids, I love that. And the B Boys, the B Boys are back. We all right, we love that. Wow, that's nice. All right, that's a nice bunch of fantastic nice. And I'm thinking this LinkedIn thing not LinkedIn, the the job search thing is doing well. Yeah, it's going really great. And so is selling my Roadcaster pro one. So I may have a buyer for it. Oh perfect, let's talk off about that. Let's we'll talk price. I may have a buyer.
