Speaker 1: Start up, start Up, Brooklyn Buy start Up, Brooklyn Buy Data. They making noise Data up. Episode four. This is the Brooklyn Boys podcast being recorded on a Friday. Yeah, not on the weekend, which I know you were unhappy about, because you're gonna You're gonna be at the beach. Yeah, I'm gonna try and go to the beach. I don't know. Nobody wants me at the beach, but how they don't? You know? I got this last minute invite to come down to Asbury but not where I normally like to go. That's the Jersey Shore. Yes, people not from this area, Asbury Park. This is how they sold it to me. Hey, you know that really famous hotel, the one that's known for being haunted, Well they actually just did a reboot on it and they refurbished it and we want you to come stay for the soft opening. So I got a last minute in. But I'm like, what kind of selling point is that? I feel like I feel like I feel like I'm gonna have to have the jingle ready because you think I'm gonna mention the name of the hotel. Of course you are. You can't help it. I'm not getting paid to go. Uh huh are you are you paying full price for the room? Well, I'm gonna be doing some work for them. Delay. This seems to me a delay. I asked you a question. Was your microphone and your headset? Okay? Alright, so so that's assumed. That's fine, Okay, all right. I hope it's a very nice hotel. I hope you have a good time. Great. But you made it very clear to me yesterday. Hey, we're recording on Friday. I'm going away. So that's why we're recording on Friday. Yeah, now right. They want me to check out the new spot, and they have a new food and beverage in their manager, and they want me to taste the cuisine, you know, because me, I like to eat. It's what I do. I like to eat, so so as I can a sore and as a tastemaker, a social media influence, a taste taker, as I will take as many tastes they'll give me for free. I'm sure you will. And so you're going down and then I'm sure so follow at Scary Jones for a plethora of social media posts of him enjoying his uh, his surroundings at the hotel and Asbury Park right. They said, there's only going to be capacity because they're going with the law. You know, they're just following the rules, which I understand. So they say six percent person isn't going because you're going. But it's a problem around these areas where people want to get out of town for the holiday weeks that are coming up, like this weekend, the weekend after rather and and uh, these places are only allowing a fourth of the people they normally would. So well, consider yourself lucky because thirty states in our country are are closing back down. Is that the magic numbers slowing back down or not advancing their stages? Yeah, it was. It was a bad couple of days here in the old United State Eights of America. So New York and New Jersey, who were the epicenter, if you haven't been following, are now banning people from coming here. Did you ever think you would see the day a two week quarantine? Now, Look, I don't know how they're going to enforce it, but my guess is if you come in with an accent, or you look up at the tall buildings, they're gonna bust you because they're gonna know you're not from here. Um, you know what, if you fly here, you're probably screwed. If you drive here, you have half a chance. They said, they give you paperwork at that border, they check your license plate, ask you where you're going, and then they tell you to go quarantine, and then you do what you want, right, Go quarantine yourself right right, Which is the nicest thing in New Yorker probably has ever said to anybody. I tried to quarantine myself once. Yes, I know, but you you would do you you were to social distance from your penis. Hey, by the way, hold on, I want to look the audience here. This okay, I'm not we're not talking right now, but but the modulation or the levels are like halfway. Now, if I turned Brodie's microphone off for a second, listen to what happens on off on, so you don't hear Brodie air conditioning? Yeah, what that's that is the air conditioning, right. I didn't remember to turn it off, and you didn't tell me when we were talking before we started. I mean, listen, I don't want you to sweat balls. Uh yeah, I'm not into that. No, No, I can turn to listen. The air conditioning isn't on in the basement. The air conditioning unit is on, but it doesn't blow air in the basement. Yeah. I'm gonna remind you again, we're not doing a video podcast. Make the rest. I wasn't a sting. I wasn't because you texted me. You said, cool man, what can we do a video podcast? And I'm not doing that. I'm just reminding you because I'm sitting in my basement and the air conditioning is going in the washer and dryer behind me and my kid's board games. It's just the to a mess. Um. I I had an episode on my last podcast that I just recorded with my friends Share speaking Volumes where we've gone very video, We've gone video. You know we do both. Now we have i G video the People in Order. Yeah right, so so um, there was some interesting things going on. First of all, we had an anti masker zoom in it from his jeep on his way down the Jersey Shore. And this guy was like, he stays at your hotel. No, he's coming nowhere near me. We we were actually way we were against him. We were like arguing with him actually, but this guy was like at the Starbucks drive through, he's driving to his gee. He's got the phone was like resting on the dashboard. But towards the end of this podcast, something happened that you could only just just there. It's funny if you see it. And that is in his face. No, no, no, no, no, there was oldkay all hell was breaking loose. And then Shar's daughter started crying. She picked her up, and it must have been feeding time for the daughter. The daughter literally grabs shares tank top and starts yanking at it like I'm hungry, it's it's lunchtime, and literally starts crying looking into the camera. She punched the microphone over and then tried to rip her headphones off her head, like stop talking to these men, I'm hungry. How old is this kid? Seven? She's one, she's one. Her name is port. She's one year old. She's one years old. One year old. You had it right when year old? She's one year she's one year It's crazy to me. But so but the thing is, these are the kind of funny moment. So I after we stopped recording, I said, I'm so sorry. I apologize, and she goes, don't apologize. That's great. That's what video is for. So that's why I'm a little disappointed that we're not getting into video on this podcast, But I got it, all right, Okay, so we don't have to. But anyway, you can turn that air conditioner off. Now do you really want me to go and do that? How long does it take? Oh? Wait, uh, it does sound like you're outside. All right, are you gonna pause the podcast? No, we're gonna keep going. It's gonna be on the I'm not gonna be on the podcast while I go upstairs. Oh it's upstairs. Okay, now just let it roll. It's not right here. You don't see you don't own a home. What would be the point of putting the thermostat in the basement. Everything m for me, Like if I was going to turn my air condition off, it literally is I can start. I can literally have my headphones on, stretched them out and yell as I'm walking across the room and turning the bay. See, you have a one, one room apartment, so everything is in the same room. But it's scary you don't have you don't have an actual air conditioning unit. You have a thermostat that's connected to the building unit VAC right, yeah, right, you don't You don't have an air I have an actual UH air conditioning unit in my basement, so you don't have the controls next to it. You have the controls upstairs in the living room. Oh why would you want to run down to the basement every time you want to adjust the temperature? Yeah, I don't know. I'm an idiot. I have no idea. I know nothing about I know home. I don't know. I'm not a handy guy. I told you my father brought me a toolbox once when I first moved into the apartment. It's still intact. He bought me a toolbox with everything in it like you name it, like a saw hammer, nails, a drill bit system, whatever the hell. That is, like a fully loaded toolbox with anything that a handy man would want. And I swear to you it's as good as new. It's sitting in my closet waiting for the day that I have to hammer a nail into a wall. Hm. That's never gonna happen. No, it's not. You are the most unhandy person. I'm not. I'm not a handy guy at all. I could see you calling up a guy like a handyman to come to your house just to open up the toolbox for you. I think that was the only time it was open. It's when you mentioned that about three years ago. I needed to have some stuff done, minor stuff in my apartment and I said, here, does any of this stuff work? And I literally pulled the toolbox out of the closet. No, but did opposite here. I don't know what you're looking for, but you well, all right, well, you know what. I'm not the handiest person, but owning a home, I've learned too to fix things. So I don't know. Just just this week I fixed well, last week, I fixed the door on my daughter's bedroom. One of the kids is that after you ripped it off the hinges and trying to teach her a lesson. That was that was twelve years ago when I took the door off the hinges because she slammed the door in my face and I said, don't you close the door. I'll do what I want. It's okay, and I took the drill. I went and I took the door off the hinges and walked away with the door and she just she just sat her room going I thought you forgave her after twelve years and you put the door back on fixed the door. I fixed the door. I fixed my daughter's dresser yesterday, and I fixed both of my cars in the past four days. You fix the car, Yeah, yeah, because it was stuff that I googled. So I'll tell you what happened. So on my Dodge charger, I can ever do that. I have a keyless like a fob, right, so it's just no keys, just a little fob, and I pushed the start. And so when the battery goes dead in that car in the in the fob, I get a little message on my screen that says battery low. Change battery right, So when you go to use it from like far away, it won't work. So when you get in the car or you get closer, it'll say battery low. So last week I don't know what day did I call you. I call you Thursday, right, So last week on Thursday, I guess it was more than four days ago. But last week on Thursday, I get in the car in my garage and the car doesn't start, Like that's weird, and it says there's no key. I'm like, the key's right here. It says there's no key. It wasn't registering, it wasn't registering, but it didn't say low battery. So um, I'm like, it's the keys. They said some other message also, but it didn't say low battery. So I set the car alat. I thought maybe the car alarm was set, you know, like a kill switch. So I I undid the battery, I mean the alarm. I said it again. I hunked the horn and I undid it and the car started, no problem. So this happened two or three times as I was driving around. Every time I got back in the car, it wouldn't start the fob. Normally, when you're near the front door the car door, it unlocks the door for you, right, And none of that was working. So I called Dodge and I said, hey, this is what's going on. And the guy says it could be one of four things. So I said, well, are any of them inexpensive and easy? No, you're gonna have to bring the car and we're gonna have to hook it up to the computer do a diagnostic. So I said, well, it doesn't say low battery, but could it possibly be a low battery? Now I would say a low battery. What you got is an internal problem. We may have to update the software. The second you said that, he said that there were four things. One of four things, you knew it was going to be the most expensive thing right away, right, So then I immediately I immediately called you Scary because in the garage we park in near work, they have my second set keys. Because I jump out of the car in the morning and they use their set of keys, I don't have to leave my keys every day. I brought your keys home today. By the way, they're sitting on my counter. Yes, well, I appreciate that. So so Thursday, I said, Scary, you gotta go pick my keys up on Friday and bring them home because if my car doesn't start, I gotta have those keys, and I can't get into the city to get them, so can you get it? So Scary picked them up for me. Anyway, So Friday morning, I wake up and I said, you know what I'm gonna You know, I know, the guy said, it's four things. I'm gonna change the battery just in case, because I won't feel right if I don't change the battery. So I I pride the thing open. You know, you have to. It's not an easy thing. It's not a screw driver. You gotta wedge something in there and pop it open. And you have to have these flat batteries, which I happen to have one left, but I remember where it was. Do you even get one of those? But there there? You know, everybody makes them. You get them at CVS. They're they're like watch batteries, a lot bigger. You used to have to go to radio shack, but that doesn't exist anymore. Anyway. I put the battery and guess what, it works? Fine, get out of here. It works fine. You fix your own fob fob. Yeah, by the way, you tried to fix your I did. I did try and fix my own. If you know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying. So we all fix your own fob. But that's not the big one. The big one is, uh my the car bought for my daughter that I've been driving because I'm trying to keep the mileage down low on my lease for the charger. So it's not the cars not sinking properly. Right. So in other words, when you go in the car, it's got bluetooth and it's a Ford, it's uh And so Ford has a program called sink s y n C. And when you hook up your phone to Bluetooth. It automatically sinks with it and you can play you music to the speaker. Well, for the past couple of months, we have the car for like four months. For the past two months, the phone hasn't been sinking with the car. It says it's sinking. Right, you can get a phone call through the car, but you can't play music. You can't play our Heart radio. Right, you can't play any sound. You can't play that's correct. And so what I did was I got an ox cable with an iPhone adapter so that my family that all has iPhones can plug your phones in. But now that my daughter's driving the car, you know, she's learning to drive, she's like, I hate having to plug it in. Why didn't the SINC work? Why didn't the SINC work? So I called Forward, Well, you may need a software upgrade, we may need to reboot the system. You gotta bring the car in, Like, this is ridiculous. I'll figure it out. And I put it off for a couple of weeks. Well, my wife comes home with my daughter. They would drive in the car and she says, I have the air conditioning on full and it's I hear the engine that the the compressor going, but there's no air coming out of the vents. But you can hear it, right, Okay, So I go under the hood. It's all working. There's no cold air. I don't see any leaks. So I google the problem and I google the problem for the sink and they're both the same problem. The problem for the sinc problem it says to go up under the dashboard, find the fuse that correlates to the sink system, pull the fuse for thirty seconds and put it back in. But in the same article it says the cars seconds last night. Yeah, I hear you. It says the fuse box is poorly located and uh, we apologize. It's an a terrible spot. So it's up by the gas pedal, up under the thing. So I have to go on my back under the car like I'm a mechanic with I have like a headlight on my head, like a strap that goes on. You actually went through all this yeah again? Yeah, Well I so I called my mechanic and I said, hey, the air is not blowing out of the air conditioning right, So he says, uh, yeah, you may need a new blower. Motor as well, how much the blower motor. The blower motor is the motor that takes the cold air and shoves it through the vents. He says, well, I could be a couple of hundred bucks. I'm like son of a bitch. So I google it and it says reasons why the blow motor is not working. One you may need a blow a motor. Two you may have a leak. Three the fuse may be bad. Try pulling the fuse. So I go back under the car. In the car, I stick my head under. Now my feet are like sticking up out the car, out the car door. My head is jammed under the under the brake pedal, and I get the headlight on my forehead and I'm reaching in with these little plastic fliers they give you with the car. And I pulled the the the fuse out for the motor, the blower motor. I leave it for thirty seconds. I put it back in. I have to, like I banged my head getting out from onder the steering wheel. I start the car. The phone sinks automatically. The error is coming out of the blower. I saved myself hundreds of dollars and having to go to two different dealerships to get the car, my mechanic and Ford to get the car fixed. So my new thing is, before you call the guy, google it. You know that's where you and I differ, though the slices know this. What would I have done? You would have called the guy. I would have called the guy. You know what I would do? I would google. I would google numbers to a mechanic. Would your fancy Lexus dealer they would have given you a latte while they repaid you call stop it? You know that you have that that that Lexus dealer you go to is a nice dealership. The best hit the jingle? Hit the jingle you didn't need to do this? What that one? No? Hit the jingle? Which jingle? The one where I call you a bit jingle? Bit commercial? Anyway, My point is they should make cars where you can push a button to to reset it. There should be a reset that automatically cuts off the fuse and then re engages the fuse. I feel like they put it there. They don't put it there on purpose just so they can make extra money off you for people that are gonna google and call the mechanic to do it. For them, right, Like, why doesn't the blow a motor have a button on it that says reset blow a motor fuse? It would be too easy. They don't want to make it too easy, remember, And the fuses are not like they're like little, like the size of a three quarters of a penny and it little fuses. If it was to look at the map to see which one it is. I'm very proud of myself though, I'm proud of you. I'm proud of you. I mean you got on your back for Christ's sake, with with with a head that headlight on your forehead, the forehead light, a forehead light. Yeah. So when I got out of I got out of the house. I went in the house, right, and I tell my wife and kids. I go, hey, I fixed the car. They go, oh good, like like like thanks, where's the fat fair? Where's the Hey, you're a hero? I mean, not Adam in here. You know what I'm saying. They should have been delivering you diet grape soda is by the case, right, We're not good anyway. So I go to the bathroom, scoops to scoops, right, I go to the bathroom now to wash my hands. Because they're all dusty and dirty from under the car, under the brake pedal area. Then I have a mark on my forehead from the light. I've got, uh like the carpet on on my face from where my face was jammed under the car onto the floor mat. I have the grooves. It's not not carpet, it's um It's a rubber old weather matt. So I've got the grooves from the mat on my face, and I've got a bump on on the side of my head from when I hit the steering wheel. But I fixed it, So shouldn't say I'm all heeled. That's a sense of accomplishment. I don't really. The thing is, I don't take great joy in accomplishing something that's gonna take me a long time to do hard labor, break my neck and get my hands dirty. I don't know. That's just me, though, which is why you you never completed essing your own day because it hurt your neck. You don't want to get your hand start just sitting you. I'm picturing you're sitting there with the iPad on Google with how to video and YouTube like I couldn't. I couldn't fix that fit the iPad under the car and use my phone your your phone were YouTube video step by step, and then you get your phone greasy because you're touching your your phone, you're touching your car. What really, what really sucked was which is why I needed the headlight. I have handled flashlight like a square flashlight that can sit flat right, But where the fuse box was was at an angle, and if I leaned it against the wall, it wouldn't No matter what I did, I couldn't get the flashlight to stay in place to light up the area. The flashlights. Wow, you just have a you have a one track mine. Man, No, I thought you said fleshlight. You're beating a dead penis with all these jokes. No, I did not say flashlight anyway. So that's my that's my week of accomplishment. So I'm very very proud of myself unimportant and unaccomplished because I feel like I didn't do anything except for order seamless, ordered dinner. I don't even cook anymore. I'm like, you know what I'm done, it's too hot. Well, we ordered dinner a few nights a week because my wife works late a couple of nights a week, and you know, we're trying to support the local businesses and so running we're all running these these great specials. Um I, but I you know what, it got to the point this week, and I swear it's I didn't do anything scary. I'mnitary and I didn't do anything. But we ordered dinner twice and both times there were problems with the order, and my wife said, no, you should call, you know, and let them know there were things missing. And so it was both it was both times Italian restaurants. Okay, and uh, I'm not gonna get into the minutia of it. But one time they had left something out of one order and I was just calling to say it was missing. I was gonna come get it. I didn't complain. Uh, And the guy says, I feel terrible. You know what, I'm gonna have my guy bring it over. It's on the house. We can take it off. I said, well, that's very very con you don't need to do that. He says, you know what, I'm gonna give you giftstificate credit next time you order from us. We'll take care of you. I said, that's very nice. I didn't even ask. So a couple of days later, we ordered Italian food again, and uh, what we ordered was a lobster. It was. It was like especially had you can get a lobster, like two lobsters in a tray with potatoes and muscles. You know, I go Italian dish like all, like like a bake, like a lobster bake. Yeah. Although I have a problem with those types of things because they too they are a little too heavy on the potatoes, very heavy on the potatoes, and not not heavy enough on the seafood, which is the more expensive item in there. I get very angry when I see those seafood gumbos and things and chowders and things with seafood mixed all the potatoes, just like NonStop potatoes. If you fucking took all the potatoes out and just looked at the seafood, you're not getting very much. They're they're being very stingy with it right now. We ordered the meal for Sunday, but my wife ordered it Wednesday so there wouldn't be any problems. Ordered it nice and early through. You know, they call them up and and so they ask you, Uh, they tell you the lobster's gonna come uncooked in a pan, right like a big baking pan and you just put everything in the oven. Well, you put it on the grill because it's got fluid in it. It's got like, you know, lemon juice on the side that you pour in. So my wife and I think I told you this story about the bad experience we had with the lobster when we were first married. We ordered like, um, you know those uh big jugs of ice cream when you're in the store, you d an ice cream store and they have these big like drums of ice cream. They're like three ft high, they're round, and they dropped them into the freezer case, two in it and half feet high, the big drums of ice cream. Oh of course, yeah, yeah, yeah. If I used to serve that all the time when I was at the Palm in the day. Forgive me if you remember this story from like episode seven of this podcast. But we had ordered it and no, and they didn't tell us that. They just said, put it on the stove and cook it and it's ready to go. So I didn't notice that there were little holes punctured in the top of this metal lid on this little this drum. So I bring it home and I and I put on the stove and my wife says, oh, well, we'll we'll turn the heat on when I get home, because I got home free and I work in the morning with you, and I was home first. I picked up the food, I put on stove, and I go and my wife goes to turn the flame on. She's I'm gonna go turn the flame on, and I hear her scream. The lobster was still alive, and I was trying to open the lid. Oh my god. It was like, oh, of course, wait a second, that's how that's how we get lobsters. Lobsters supposed well, well, I didn't know that at the time. This is a long time, the first time you're ordering lobster. It's the first time I ordered lobster from my house. I never owned a place, and my wife and I had in a townhouse. I never I had brought lobster home. What was your What was your response? What was your reaction to this? Well, so we slammed the lid down, and we're like what do we do. We're like, well, we have one choice is to turn the flame on. I'm like that means we're gonna kill it. She's like, yeah, yeah, what are we gonna do? I'm like, uh I I so, I mean, look, there was a long time ago we ate the lobster. But then my point is it was terrible. So this time my wife says to the guy, I'd like it cooked. Can you cook it first? So the guy says, yeah, no problem. Okay, So we get the lobster home and we ordered a tray of chicken and a caesar salad and some calamari from this guy. Now, this guy is like, even though he's from Jersey, he's as Brooklyn as they come. He calls a galla mad, it's a Calamari's my kind of guy. He right, I mean he's like, oh his name is Anthony. He's like old school, right. So we we go to the curbside pick up, we bring the food home and we opened the tray and the lobsters are still black. So, my, oh god, are they alive? So my wife said, well, what do we do? We ordered them? We ordered them cooked. Did they have rubber bands around their claws? No, no, they do not, well they should if they were. We quit we quickly put the lid back on. Well, like, if they didn't cook them, how are they dead? Did they smother them like, I don't know what's going on here. So I call up and I say, hey, um, a couple of things. Number One, the chicken dish was missing because it was my my daughter's chicken dish, wasn't putting in my car. And the lobster aren't cooked. He says, oh, we don't cook the lobster. I said, well, no, wait a minute. My wife specifically asked for the lobster to be cooked and you guys didn't cook it. Now we don't cook it. I said, all right, well she's not crazy, she asked, because we have this history of the lobster in this cat and we I tell him the whole thing and he laughs. He says, I'll just tell you what, bring it back and I'll cook it. I said, like you fear team minutes away, I gotta come their way for your cooking. I said, now, I'm not gonna do that. I'll cook it on the star was dead and yeah, it was dead. And at that point you're just throwing in who cares, right, So I said, no, no, we'll we'll cook it. I just want to confirm that, did you demand some money back? Because because they didn't do the cooking part. No, I did not. So then he says, look, I'll bring it the chicken right away. I said, no problem. He says, I uh done, I'll bring you the chicken. Okay. So my wife uh on the menu and you order it. It says that this big lobster dinner comes with a side of lemon juice and seasoning. Right, she says, just put the lemon juice container. It comes in a tin. Put that on the grill. So she puts it on the grill and she sees it stop melting properly. So she looks at it and she realizes it's the caesar salad dressing. Oh my god, they did. They didn't put there was no lemon juice, right. So they had packed the lemon the caesar salad dress in with the lobster. The cup of caesar dressing was in the lobster pan in a in a metal tin so that it could cook with the lobster. But it was a place, okay again, I'm not. It's a very good place with really good food. They've only been opened like six months. I liked them a lot, so I called. I called the guy back and I said, listen, I just want to let you know, I need to know the caesar salad dressing. I tell him what happened. He starts laughing. I'm so sorry, and I said, also, we didn't get the lemon juice season thing, which is what the caesar salad dressing was in with the lobster. Oh my god, I'm I'm so embarrassed. We're so busy, I said, Anthony. I'm not upset. It's totally fine. Just if you could bring the chicken, no problem, and the dress things that were missing, it's all good. We love you. The food is great, no problem, he says, all right. I said, when the driver comes, I'm gonna tip him. No, you don't have to tip him. I said, don't be ridiculous. I'm gonna tip the guy. So it's okay. So my wife says to me, I realized now that they give you crap on the radio for it. But we're jinkst. We're absolutely jinst he's you're not looking for these problems, but we areted dinner two nights at at the last two nights. It just falls into your lap. Problems just come your way. Somehow. You're a lightning rod. Maybe you have this magnetism about you, where everything everything, all the negative ship like an avalanche of things just happen to you. Right. So I get a phone call from Anthony. He says, hey, man, the driver is gonna be there in about ten minutes with your chicken. Again. I'm really sorry, he says, but listen, I didn't tell the driver. But in the bag is another bag, and in that bag is seventy I want you to have the money for the problem. And I said, Anthony, that's ridiculous. I can't take that money. He says, listen, you're like me. You're one of my kind of I love you, You're my kind of guy. He's I want you to be happy. I see. He goes, I know you're gonna spend that seven yet dollars on my food next week. Don't worry about it. I said, all right, no, I okay. I couldn't fight with him anymore. He's like, no, take it. So uh. I gave the driver ten bucks for coming. Uh and uh. But my point was I didn't complain. I just wanted the chicken. And but my wife were sitting out on the deck that night and she says, it's not you, it's not you, which just chinked like she's just like you don't look for trouble. I know I don't. All right, Well, whatever you do, I want you to stay farther funk away from me. Okay, let's never remember last year, last week when I was asking you to go in your pool and I wanted to come hang out. Yeah, I don't need that in my life. I've I've rescinded my own request for the invitation. I want to dive in and hit your head and you'll be crippled something it will be. I don't want you rub it off on me. You know what I'm saying. Play the jingle right after this and scary my. I think it's time for me. This what my what you said? My? I said Adidas, Adidas, that word association my right of course. No, I was gonna say my Sharona my T shirt. I think it's time for the wash. Um. I don't about you, but I don't wash my T shirts every time I wear them, especially here during quarantine. I've gotten about three four washes out of this shirt that I'm wearing. I wore, but things I wear only for like three or what you mean is you had three or four wearings before wearings of wearings before right before wearings. Yeah, I've warned three times, but not for the full day, like from like five thirty in the morning until ten thirty in the morning when I come home and then I switch out shirts. So I've warned it for about three or four times now for five hours at a time, if that makes any sense. So you're piecing together your hours, yes, is that acceptable? Is it the same thing? Because I will say it's starting to Yeah, I know it's starting to something is not working. I think you know, it's starting to take on a funk of its own. Just once, because once your sweat gets on the shirt, you know, in the morning, then it starts to like dry and permeate the shirt. But what difference, How would it be different though? If I was to wear this, If I was to wear the shirt from five o'clock in the morning until two o'clock in the morning, that's the shirt I wore that night, as opposed to breaking it up into four hour increments. It's the same amount of time. Yeah, but it fre men's It just sits there and lays there and then a day later you go back to it. Well, doesn't have enough it doesn't have the time to ferment. It's only five hours. Like I'm wearing it for five hours at a time. If I wear it for four times five if I wear it for twenty hours four times five hour intervals, what's the difference between that? Straight I would imagine the sweat and then whatever a deodorant you're wearing in the morning, hopefully that gets on the shirt right so that the order and breaks down on the shirt. The sweat breaks down on the shirt, it probably starts to grow bacteria, and then you're putting it back on your body. If it's on your body, it probably stays moist the de order and stays there and you're you know it's I think it just stays. I don't see a difference. Otherwise we'd all be going to change our shirts around eleven o'clock in the morning, like this shirt is done, trying to gotta change it, put on a new one. This one's dirty now because it's based on the decay of the decent or something or whatever's on it. Whatever. This is why I don't want you in my pool. You are gross. Well, as I just told you, I'm not coming to your pool. I'm going nowhere. Near you or your pool. Now, are you going to wear the same grubby shirt for three days at your new fancy hotel this weekend? Not a fancy hotel. Stop it. It's not fancy, okay. It is a hotel that has that. They just added a new food and beverage manager and they wanted me to taste the food and it's like a new restaurant. It's in Asbury Park, how booge you can pay you know what? There are very nice places. Wasn't that as Where's the place? Was it? Salt hotels? Well? Yeah, they have the Asbury and the Asbury Ocean Club, both of which are well. The Asbury Ocean Club not opening to uh to hotel people this year because did you just did you just mentioned the hotel. I'm not getting paid and I'm not going. I'm not going to the Asbury Ocean Hook Ocean. Yeah, Asbury Ocean Club is very hotel. I'll tell you really quickly. They have condos, They have residences attached to it as well as hotel rooms. So in order to make more room and social distance for the residences for the pool area, they decided to be thoughtful and not open the hotel at all this summer just to give it to the residents so they can use the pool and the hotel. This hotel you're going to, yeah, the Berkeley hit scary the jingle? What the hotel that everyone's going to see in your social media? Is it a singles uh kind of place? Or is it they want to get a family place. It's everything. It's families, families and couples and singles. Oh my, oh, so let me ask you a question. Would they want a fun family to come there and post on social media? Oh, a fun family like Ormant or me or you or I was gonna say, I don't think they want that bad juju in their hotel. Hey, my religion has nothing to do with anything. I didn't say bad juju, I said juju. I know they know what with all the bad luck you could have. French we just came off a segment talking about how awful of a time you have it just by existing. They I should tell them about you, Actually you should. Would It would be great to see you at this hotel. I think you'd have a blast. Well, someone has to invite me. Okay, I'm on two week vacations. Touche Huh, touche. Somebody has to invite you. Huh. Where have I heard those words before? Huh? Oh, it's not your hotel, though your You want to come to my pool when you know you're not the most quarantined person in the world. I'm protecting my family by not having you over. For the past I've been wearing my mask. I know you have I know yet And by the way, you know, people are you know, people are going with fashion over function these days. Um. I went to get my haircut yesterday and I had a regular old surgical mask on getting my hair cut, and in the chair like four or five ft away from me, there was a woman getting her hair colored and she was wearing a Chanel mask. But the mask was not didn't have like the metal thing over the nose. There were air air holes going down her nostrils on either side, you know, down the sides of her nose. I'm like, wait a second, what why would you have air holes in the air not air holes? No, the air was getting through because it wasn't a tight seal, so it was a good tight seale, right. Well, who doesn't you know back in college you used to get them that way. But this mask was a Chanel mask. God knows how much money. God knows how much money she paid for the damn thing. But was it a real channel mask? It was in a Chinatown knockoff mask, I ask her, and I want, by the way, you can get the knockoffs and no one'll ever know because obviously only you're seeing the inside. No one's gonna ask you to see the inside of your mask. So you're you're good there. All you gotta do is have it, saytion Now, I guess you can get anything fucking printed. I mean Brook and Boys logo printed on a mask. Well, well, here's the thing. I think when we come back from vacation, we're gonna have masks. Ready, I think we're gonna do that. We talked about that last week. We did. We just have to pick the style um and then you know what, you know what I need. If any of you guys are masters of photo shopping, because a bunch of you have been, I know you need the high res graphic I was told you need the ping or the tiff for the the bop or whatever those hot or the EPs, whatever those high end graphic resolution pictures are. We have one of those. I've got a ping. I've got a PG. I've got a PNG. I don't know. It's a high rese but it's not ultra high res. What we want to do is we want to change our logo, not the one that has my picture and scariest picture on it, the logo that we have without our pictures on it. We want to change the orange to blue and the blue to orange. Right, But the person who created the logo for us doesn't have the high res graphics anymore. So if you have the technology, uh what I want you to Scary what's the email address? It's Brooklyn Boys pot the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. Right right, I mean you can d m us at David Brody at Scary Jones, but dm both of us if you don't mind, If you have an idea on how to do that without the EPs skipping. You know, maybe I can get my uh my girl who sketched us, she sketch to do a sketch of us on the mask. How about that? Would you have to want us on the mask? I just want our logo. Maybe she could sketch our logo. You don't like it? Uh no, No, I like the job she did, except for the mustache. Well, we can update the picture. Well I do, I do? Um the uh the guy who upped I got it. I don't know his name, Handy. I apologize. I'll mention the next episode. The guy who you know what, I have it. I'm gonna get it. While we're talking the guy, I asked him the guy who made our graphic that we posted where I'm wearing a kiss T shirt and we put scary as a unit brow and he totally mocked it up the way we asked him to. Yes, he did a version of the logo for me without with that picture without the mustache. So I do have a graphic, Daniel. I want to thank Daniel. He he gave it to gave it to me, and it has me with a white T shirt now and no mustache and a version of the of the no mustache and a kiss teach and you're still showing your chest is still a v there? Or then you put put a white T shirt on he was wearing like I was wearing in the original picture, So you got a T shirt. She sketch just to creative liberties, like I'm a fashion person here and yeah, you know what he could lose a T shirt. But that's what the that's the beauty of a sketch. You could it could be everything you want. Yeah, exactly. So anyways, he wanted more true to life for him. Yeah. And by the way, the white T shirt, I worked the whole day and I watched it after that. Um, speaking of the kind of go ahead, I was gonna talk about getting what you want, but I'll come back to the speaking of the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. We do have a couple of emails, and I think I think you're gonna like this. You're okay with the email, yeah, of course, and then I need you to help me with a dilemma that change like. It's mail time. Welcome, You've got mail the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. End us your email. I'm gonna keep this one anonymous, even though this person has written to us before. And I'll let you know after the podcast who we're talking about here. But uh, this person says, hey, what's up? Guys, wanted to thank you for recording the show from home. Even when Brodie's microphone doesn't sound as good as scaries nineties dollar system. I love how I love how it goes up every time, worth every penny scary. I've been keeping up with the Walkers and Talkers Plug and Speaking Volumes, Speaking Volumes, Plug Plug and of course the best best podcast ever, the Brooklyn Boys. Uh. Too many people close to me lost their lives to COVID nineteen. This actually pushed me to the borderline of depression. My family and your podcasts both helped me to get my spirits up. I'm doing much better now and I'm back to work and needing my Brooklyn Boys more than ever. Once again, thank you so much. Wishing you guys. The and the Slice is the best. I'm not going to read your name, but that you um seriously man, you know you can always reach out to us on the side if you have some issues or you want to talk. I mean, because that that's I don't know how you how how it? Ye know who you know some people are going through you know, because some people go through it more than others. And and for me, I I deal with things a different way. I know Brodie Brody finds comedy and in things that are depressing. Sometimes you make jokes, you write parodies and comedy because that is cathartic. Am I am I off base on that I don't want to speak. You know, well, you know, comedy and tragedy is called the razor's edge from from tragedy comes comedy and so um. I have had, like most people, have a lot of tragedy in my life, and I found that that being funny as a kid was what got me through it, that got me out of bad situations. So uh yeah, so they're so. But but that said, you know, it's crazy to hear some Boddy going through all this all this stuff and we are their happy moment. I mean, we hear it all the time on our big show with Elvis. But you know, to have this silly little podcast here every week coming at you just that you could always hit the skip button if you don't like what you're hear. And I guess people like what they're here, and that's really cool that and then it uplifts their spirits. So if we if we did that, then we've done our job. By the way, speaking of skipping it, I got a d M saying they miss hearing the skip It song parody that I wrote about every time the Jersey Kid would come on, you can hit skip it, but he doesn't come on our podcast. If you want, I can call him up and put him on the podcast. Now we can hit skip it jingle I'm good, I'm good, Just to play the jingle Brody just not good. By the way, how Spruce been. People have been asking about Spruce on the loose. He's good. I talked to him yesterday a couple of times. Uh. He is quarantining, so he's working from home. Also, his daughter is home, so he's got he's got some company in the house. I'd like to get him on the pod cast. I told him maybe the next after this one. He wasn't available today because he want to swing by my place. I mean I have microphones for him. He uh, he does not want to be anywhere near you because you know what, on the next podcast, Let's call him and see if he'd like to come to my place, because because he sounds much better in stereo. I'm telling you it's better than a phone. Now, he's not coming. Well, first of all, he lives up tom Manhattan. He's not coming to your apartment in New Jersey. That's a long way to go for some people. Okay, anyway, keep reading all right, so we can we can actually get him in here. On a clean feed. We could do that anyway. We have a Rob Curran writing to us. Hey, guys, Slice for Life here love the pod calls it a pod. My wife has a little side business going making shirts, signs, glasses and other party creations. It's called Angie's Party Creations, and examples can be seen on Angie's Party Creations on a Facebook page and her Instagram page. I heard you guys on the pod asking for listeners to sponsor the show or to donate some product. How would we'd love to link up? Okay, thank you, Slice for Right Life. Rob. Rob is offering his wife's creative services. If you know what I mean? Um No, I don't scary. What do you mean his wife's creative services? You know what I'm saying? Yeah, Hell, I don't to create logos and designs. Yeah those get your mind out of the gutter. You have a one track. You said you know what I'm saying. I don't know what that meant. Yeah, I just said. I just explained what I was saying. By creative services. Oh yeah, if you're if you let anything else, then you're pervert. I would never do. You are the filth box. I did not understand what you meant. That's all Jamie Saul wrote to us, Um, Hey, Brodian scary, and it's Brodian scary because of hashtag tribe Brodie uh talking about working in retail, reminding me of my best working in retail story. I used to work in a costume store, one of those stores that pop up in New York City from early September to the end of October. You know what I'm saying. The rule that I worked there was that if we found an open custom costume package, we had to check it to make sure nothing was missing. Well, one night, something was missing. A co worker called me over one night while we were closing up one of the adult themed costumes had a big plush penis missing from it. My co worker and I were laughing. Two of them were cracking jokes about it while we finished closing up. Hashtags lives for life Jamie. So, yeah, so someone stole the big plush penis off of the Halloween costume. So yeah, so that's that's the thing. Um, Joe M. What are you laughing at? To be very funny too, the big plush penis, Joe M. The subject line is scary Mike echo, which is happening right now. Echo echo you hear that that's coming through Brodie's headphones. That's why it's echoing. So because he want to watch this. If I turn Brodie's mic off, there's no echo here. That no echo echo, that's your five dollars recording system. Well that's not me. Well that's okay. Well there in lies the problem. He too, believes in that false theory. It's he wrote Brody and Scary. For much of episode, Scary's expensive microphone had an echo, while Brodie's forty mike was perfect. Justin f y I and I I give to the slices. Exhibit a echo with Brodie's mike on because it's coming through Brodie's side. Hello. Hello, and now Brodie's mic is off. It's just me. There's no echo. It's clean here. That yeah, that's your system. That's not me. No, No, it's it's picking up your microphone. It's your microphone that's causing my echo. Phone. No, but your microphone is picking up my voice because you're listening to me, right, so it's hearing it's hearing me. Your microphone is hearing me through your microphone, and it should only be hearing your voice. Okay, that's not the microphone's fault. That it's picking up sound. That's the microphone's job. I know. But you have headphones on. Are you not listening to? How loud are your headphones? They're not very loud. I could lower the headphone, turn your headphones to zero for a second. Let me talk, let me see if it still happens. Hold on, hold on, all right, we're just a test. Alright, are they off? They're not? Yeah, they're off? Okay, Hello, Hello, still coming through. I don't care. It's that microphone anyway. I hear you're gonna get it upgrade soon. Um. Well, there's a couple of problems with that. Oh yeah, a couple of problems that. All right, should we continue with the email or what are we gonna Well, I'll tell you the title problems. So let's keep reading email. Okay. A couple of tweets I wanted to read. Um, why this is a long one. Oh my god, we have an Amazon free desert story coming in from Lenny Lamb. We'll get you that. Maybe we'll post these I don't know. Wow. All right, so here's that from Carrie Dirdy, who is really essential. Hey been catching up on episodes and just as baffled as y'all are by who is considering themselves essential workers and first responders during quarantine? I started a new marketing position for a memory care facility. There is an awesome sign outside that says heroes work here. Yes, heroes certainly do work here, but I do not consider myself one of them. I do marketing. I sit in a fucking desk and plan out strategies. I am not the one taking care of our awesome residents. I thank our nursing staff on in the office every day for being heroes. Thank you, guys for providing my drive home with entertainment and laughter. So Carrie feels that she works at a facility, at a place that has heroes, but she's not one of them. But she sees the sign every day and felt the need to comment, well, can I add to that? Of course? Jesse? Who what's this person's name? Her name is Carrie, Carrie dirty, Jesse Morgan, j S S I at Minion Morgan or or yeah it looks like Minion Morgan. She wrote to you and me on Twitter and she said, I took this picture. It's from a seven eleven. I think everyone thinks they are a hero, and so on the window of the seven eleven it says heroes work here eleven. And then you wrote this is I'm giving you credit. This is a very funny comeback. You said, ha ha ha. They sell heroes. That's about it. I did write that. It's pretty funny. Yeah, they said, But a lot of people that don't live in the Northeast don't know what that joke meant because they don't call them heroes. They call them subs, grinders, po boys or other things. Yeah, it's it's it's a sandwich, it's a it's a hero. Sandwich is a sandwich on a long Italian bread or long torpedo roll um, a chicken palm you'd have on on a hero. So they sell heroes. There are no heroes there. I was making a joke for the Northeast. But if you call them Sammy's, you got your head screwed on back, right, Who the hell n what's a Sammy? What is this Sammy? That's uh Rachel Ray calls him a sandwich is Sammy's. No, But before her, there was someone some food chained made Sammy's. And I think it was was a quiz nose one of them is he are there even in business anymore? Quiz nosway? One of them like, oh we got Sammy's. I'm like, suck a Sammy, Sammy. Oh speaking of quiz nos, I think you about to say, speaking of fucking, I'm like, oh no, not not often. So, uh, there's a commercial now. I think Charlie Pooth is in one of them. But the Subway, not a sponsor, has brought back the five dollar foot longs, right, yeah, you're you're aware of that, of course. And so there's been controversy because a lot of them, a lot of the I guess you call them franchises. The franchises don't want to sell the five dollar foot longs because they take they take, um, they take a hit, right, they take a big hit because a lot of the meat is more expensive. And and the five dollar foot long was a thing when the sandwiches cost them like to fifty to make, but now the sandwiches cost more because it's ten years later. Is this it's not a scamboni. So a lot of the Subway dealerships the franchise like, we don't want to sell us the hero sandwiches. For five dollars, you should make it a seven dollar foot long like the price of meat, right, Yeah, because because he just took it upon himself to talk about the old you know, to sing the old jingle. But yeah, but inflation. No, no, no, he didn't take it upon himself. What are you talking about. I'm just trying to understand. Charlie paid to sing the jingle in the commercial, Like, but the subway is doing the five dollar foot long again. So then but but the but the actual franchises, the guys who owned the stores, they don't have a choice. Their subway they sell them for five dollars. I don't understand what the problem is. Okay, the problem is sometimes it says at participating locations, Well, the problem is a lot of them don't want to participate. They don't want to sell the footlongs of five dollars still losing money. Wait a second, So you mean the national people at Subways got Charlie Pooth on board to do the song five dollar foot and then then they put it out there and it's all this advertising for all the franchises. But by the way, when you sign up to be a franchise e or a franchise person. You get all that stuff for free. You get free advertising from the corporate office. So you're the least you can do is follow the corporate strategy and the corporate office prices of five dollar foot launch. I mean, who doesn't know that's that's so allowed. You're allowed to opt out on some things, but why why would you do this? For instance, in Manhattan, the dollar menu sometimes it's like a dollar fifty dollar seventy five because the rent is so high man and they can't afford to do the dollar menu. So anyway, so in the commercial for the subway five dollar foot long, you'll see this at the end of the commercial. There's four sandwiches in the commercial, two on the left and two on the right, and they are piled high. They are loaded up looking. You know, they had a professional prepared right right now, here's where they get you. I had to take a picture of the screen and zoom in on it. It says at participating restaurants. Then it says sub some sub shown with guacamole, double meat, and other extras which are available for an additional charge, plus talks. So they're photographing, They're fucking photographing they're the one with the works with everything on it, right with the little asterisk in the thing in the bottom it says, this is the one. This is not the supreme version I see. But but it's like that's like, that's Toyota doing like zero percent for seventy two months. And then when you but they go but the the fine print, but the wheels don't come with it, you don't get. But that's not talk about the Dodge commercial. The Dodge commercial does this. I talked about this already, the Dodge commercial because you know, the pandemic and the and the and the factories were closed and the sales are down. So they're doing zero percent financing for eight eighty four months. Right. So in the commercial they show Jeeps, the Dodge, Minivans, Dodge Chargers, Dodge Challengers, Cherokees, which I know were Jeeps, um uh, the Liberty whatever, the all the models, right, Okay, Then in the fine print it says does not include chargers and Challengers. Well, why are you putting the charges and challenges in your commercial? Edit them out? Sucked up? Man? And what I'm telling you, and that is such a bullshit because if you think about it, you're seeing and going back to subways. Example, you're singing about five dollar foot longs. You should be seeing what they're singing about, what you're hearing. You're hearing and seeing the pictures not matching up to what's being sung about. You're not looking at a five dollar football and you're looking at a dollar football. Dude, that's just would be like some five dollar foot long. You said it wasn't, but that's a fucking scamboni. Oh yeah, they absolutely it is. Come on, subway, do better, do better, subway. So you want eleven dollar foot long because you wanted you wanted double meat, or you wanted guacamole, because the five dollar foot long has nothing on it. That's why they give it to you five dollars. They load you up on the lettuce and the onion. It's a bread sandwich. That's awful. They spread it with essence of turkey. No way. Do you know what you should do is you should screenshot the commercial and walk into the store and say, hey, look at this. This was the five dollar foot long that I saw on my TV screen. Why doesn't this ship look like that? Yeah, but it has the warning on it right there. It says it has the disclaimer. Remember I remember like the last time they did this five or six years ago, and people were saying they were measuring the footlongs and they were like, they were like ten and a half inches. Well like me, you wish if you will, if you were with body and scary. All right, So I have a dilemma and I need your help with this. And I'm probably like I don't want to say specifically what it is, but there was something I wanted and it was a decent amount of money, and so somebody knew I wanted it, and let's just say they asked my wife, uh, what I wanted specifically to buy me. By the way, before you get into that, I just got. I just gotta dm at this mante from. It's just so funny. It's just, hey, scary. I got only because we're recording the podcast now. I gotta tell you. I listened to the Brooklyn Boys in my car and I used to listen on volume twenty, and since you got your new recording system, I listen on thirteen. Thank you, Thank you for spending the money needed for the right equipment. I'm sorry continue I do because I know that this has to do I'm guessing with whatever it is, anyway, point is right. So can we just agree that you interrupted me just now? I'm not upset you interrupted me. Well, of course I rarely interrupt you. I had to interrupt you, and and I interrupt you. I'm not offended by any listen. We did a flow chart. Listeners did flow charts for us about what this podcast does, where we we constantly interrupt each other on the pie. So a listener of this podcast who claims that never listening again, tweeted at me because on the air we were talking about our podcast and you said, uh that sometimes I talk for a while and you don't get a word. And I said, sometimes you talk for a while, I'll get a word in. And then so as we interrupt each other. So one of our listeners, I'm not going to give his name because I'm not looking to get him upset. If he's truly not listening anymore, he won't hear it. But and he said, you're you're you're Scary's right, Brodie, You're fucking rude. You always interrupted the right he got, he got, he got, he got nasty with me. So I wrote back very nicely, and I said, hey, listen, I'm not rude. This is the way Scary and I talked to each other. We're from Brooklyn, We're always trying to like whatever pops into our head. We jump on each other, and that's the flow of the show for a hundred, what was it, thirty four episodes, because if you started zero, then you're here. But I think at the time, I said one thirty three, Well, whatever it was, it was this week, So one thirty four I saw on your thirty four episodes. At that point, I said, that's how we talked to each other. So I'm not sure why you think I interrupted him, But he doesn't drup me, I said, but I don't, I'm not rude. That's how we talked to each other. So he wrote back and he said, oh yeah, typical justification from an ass. You can't just any So I don't want to get into it with him and use logic, but here's what I will say if he's listening. If you and your wife speak to each other a certain way, right, Let's say you will come home from from a hard day's work and you say to your wife, hey, honey, you know what, you're a nice piece of ass, and your wife gets a compliment out of that, right, she likes that. She likes that you say she's got a nice piece of ass, right, or she is, well, hey, nice, you get a nice rack, honey. Right. She takes it as a compliment because that's how you talk to each other. But if you said that to your boss or your coworker, that might be rude. But it's not rude if the person receiving it doesn't find it rude or Yeah, but that could be considered verbal abuse, I mean, but not to your wife if that's how you talk to each other. But the people that are experiencing that could be saying that they could from afar because that's what in their life. What I'm saying that you that. But that guy who talks to his wife that way, right, if she likes that and that's their language, then he's not being rude to horror, right, because that's their language. I don't know about pednalogy. I will respectfully disagree. Hold on, if you see your buddies and you're like, hey, what's up face all the time, we call each other pieces of ship, piecia p s H. Because that's the language you guys have, right, that's your your that's your effect, right, not a very smart one. But but but if but if somebody heard you call your friend a Pecia piece of ship, right, if he says you're being rude, he's not accurate. You're not being rude. You're talking to someone who that's your lingo, that's your back and right. But in that person's eyes, the way they're used to being treated. But it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. It's like it's like if I see somebody go, what's up, jew because I'm Jewish, he's Jewish. If another person who isn't Jewish says, hey, you're being rude to that guy. No, I'm not. That's how we talk to each other, right, But the thing is, that's not the way society works, as you know, because I mean, I don't I don't want to bring anything else into it. But look at what's happening now with with you know, with racism. Some people in their own groups could have mixed for example, they can have racial mixed race friends and people can have like jokes with each other. But someone from Afar is gonna be like that's wrong and denounced that, and and then it's wrong because society said it's wrong, but it's wrong for them, it's not wrong for the person saying it. It's hard to defend that. You can't. You can't. Really, that's a tough one. Man. Let me ask you a question. If, and it happens all the time, we have friends who use the word to each other. But if two black people call each other the N word in a friendly way, I don't call them racist for that because they're able to use that word the same way I call it jew. What's up? Jew? Or I call my friend jevgo you cheap son of a bit. That's bust being playful, right, Yeah, but there are Jewish people that would take high, highly high offense to that, like, oh my god, how could you do that? But that's anti Semitism. No, no no, no, no. My point was they can't say I'm being rude to my friend if he likes me to call him that is a very big hill to climb. That's like a right there, you're you're swimming up stream on this one. I don't say I disagree with you. I'm just telling you that's a rough that is so rough to that argument, are you being rude to your friends calling them pieces of ship? I don't think I am, but that's the outsider. Might someone that if I said that on the radio, people like you're a scumbag. Scary. No, if you said to a guy on the street, hey, you piece of ship, that's different than going, hey, what's up, piece of ship? Oh, it's the affle now, because because you're not calling, you're not walking up to your friend in the street and and like you're gonna kill him, going you piece of ship, Like you're gonna punch him. You're like, hey, piece of ship, what's up? Douche bag? Like that's friendly. That's the lingo from our people. So okay, So you're continuing on with what you were saying. You were trying to make it wasn't. I tried to explain to him that I wasn't being rude to me. He took it as right, and he took it as me justifying my rudeness. I'm like, it's not rudeness if the other person isn't offended by it. I don't get offended. If you're interrupting me, We interrupt each other. That's how you and that's the language of this podcast, right and I know that, but so so, if you're not offended, and I'm not offended. He can't be offended for one of us. He can't be offended for you and say I'm being rude to you. But you can't. You can't apply that logic with everything that's going on in all the movements today. In other words, I'm not talking about movements. I would never use any any any racial words that any No, I'm not saying you're using that. I'm just saying, but the logic behind it, I don't know. If I don't, it's rough to to bring it outside of your own circle. I don't know. People are probably trying to have a heart, are having a hard time comprehending. Are taking everybody. Everybody. I think everybody knows whatever group they're in, whether they're you're you and your Irish friends, you and your Italian friends. You know, you've got words you call each other that that aren't offensive to each of you because that's your language. You have fun with it, you play around. But you wouldn't call a stranger that did not yell at in public. I'm not gonna yell. I'm not gonna yell something Jewish joke to my friend and go, hey, what's not to be a cheap bastard in the middle of a restaurant, right, because that's rude to other people who might hear. And I get that. What I'm saying is you're listening. It's like if you watch Friends and you're like, oh, Ross is being so rude to Joey. That's how they talk to each other. That's the show. You can't be like offended for Joey. That's how they their friends. They talk to each other. They wanted to out for that guy. Not it's not worth it. I tried to I appreciate him and trying to trying to defend me, but I whatever. But anyway, but let me tell you the problems that I need you. I need your advice. I mean everyone's advice listening. So I told through the grape vine the person who wanted to get me something. This thing comes in a bunch of different colors. I like the color blue, So the the item in blue was sent to this person. Hey, get the blue one for David. Okay, all right. The person in the middle of this conversation told me that everywhere around they were backgarded out of stock, but they would be arriving. It would be arriving in a couple of weeks. Well, it arrived yesterday. Yeah, and it's silver. Okay. Now, the person bought it for me, so it wasn't like I paid for it. It was a gift, right, But it should be in the color I like, even though it's a gift. They knew I wanted blue, but decided, well, they're out of stock, on to blue. I'll get the silver one. They made that choice. Now, I want to tell you about my mother real quick, and then I'll go back to the story of what I'm telling you. Now, my mother doesn't always go shopping because she lives alone. So her friends will often say, she's a couple of friends who live in her community, Hey, we're going shopping. What do you need? And she'll give them a list, and my mom is my mom. She'll write, I want tropicana, no pulp, Vitamin D, orange juice, I want sugar free Klondike bars. And she's very specific, and she writes it out and and they'll show up and they'll go, oh, you know what, the Florida The Florida Select was on sale for the orange juice, so we got you that, and the Klondike's bars were on sale. If you got the cookies and cream, So we got you those. And uh so, well, I didn't ask for that. I asked for tropicana, no pulp. You bring me Florida's best. What I didn't. I didn't say get me orange juice, I said, I said get me tropicana. Look, it's like if you said go get me coke and they come home with PEPSI like I wanted coke. And if you order quick and they bring you a you who, that ship is chocolate water. You who is not a fucking chocolate milk drink. It's a chocolate drink. It's just drink. It's not chocolate milk. Oh, you've got a much shorter shelf life, much longer shelf right life right mother, My mother spells it out for them, tries to this is exactly what I want. The twelve wounds, the you know, one package, they'll go. So this woman got my mother the last time she went shopping, because she said she didn't want my mother run out. They only had seven left. She got her seven packages because they were on sale. Seven packages of Klondike bars. That's forty two Klondike bars for a woman who lives alone. Oh my god, And what are you gonna do with them? They're gonna melt. You can't leave him out on the counter. She's our freezer, is jam l because people didn't listen to aur and they were like, oh, shure, that should be fine. So the point is, I got this silver thing that's very expensive, and I have to use it now, and I know in the course of me owning it, the person who bought it is going to see it. So my point, my question is, because I'm neurotic, I immediately went on on eBay and put a bid in on a blue one. Yeah. So my question is is it wrong to buy the blue one and then sell the silver one? No, because it's an even exchange and at the end of the day, whatever we're spent was spent. Yeah, okay, yeah, good. What if I don't think the person that's gonna see what you're talking about is gonna care about the color, And then I probably even gonna remember because you said there was a person in between you guys. Okay, what if? Now? What if I'm gonna say that this item is fifty dollars. What if I buy one on eBay for ninety and then I put this one up on eBay and itselves for one fifty. I'm still I have I'm still a guy with a microphone. I don't know that sixty dollars back to the guy, right, you did well? Actually, actually I'm taking a used microphone from eBay in blue, and then it's up to me. It was a gift I could gift, so you get to keep the profits from anything yourself. I'm saying, is that is that wrong? I mean, I feel like it's right. I think that's questionable. I think it's then I could buy a new one for one. I mean, it's not diet grape soda stealing wrong, it's it's it's just I think it's I think it's borderline. I think you can go either way. So first my first question is should I just be happy with the silver one or no? You want what you want, like even though you bought it for me, I gotta stare at it, I gotta use it. I wanted the blue one. That's not wrong, right to be like right now, it's not because you want what you want, and you want maybe the color scheme goes better with your Okay, alright, I bought an accessory for it that doesn't look good with the soil. You should have. You should have. So if I so if I make the little money on eBay because I bought a less expensive one, that's fine. I think you're okay there, I think you're good. Okay, all right, all right, Um we have to we have to start wrapping up here because, um, you want to go to the beach. Let's go to the beach each let's go get away. Yeah I don't do that now, I want to now you know what? And we and we are taking a two week break here, so, um, what we encourage when we this is the part where we have to say, let's let's put us in. Remember last year at this time where we appeared in the Apple iTunes to top two hundred. That was because you all told your friends and family to listen to the Brooklyn Boys podcast and started episode zero. Doesn't matter where you listen as long as you listen. And now we're telling people to download it again. So what we want you to do is to download the podcast and listen to it. Just give us listens start from zero if you if you haven't, if you're listening to us, just the last few and you have plenty o time. You know, the Elder Story and Big Show is on vacation for two weeks. We're coming back on July whatever that Monday is, So you have plenty of time to listen to the Big Show if you know the best stubbs there, and then in your spare time, listen to this podcast. Catch better yet, spread the word. We could use an influx of new summer listeners. Yeah, tell new people about it. Oh going, Oh, you're going on a car trip, you're driving twenty hours. You know you should be listening to Pop in the Brooklyn Boys podcast. That'll get you through your journey. Definitely do that. Speaking of journey, um, don't stop believing. Should we end with that song for the tho we should not. It's not the sopranos. I do want to make one one plea. I'm gonna make a plea and scary you may disagree, in which case will disagree. Uh. Somebody mentioned that in the Brooklyn Boys Facebook page. People have been commenting, well wait, now I run the Brooklyn Boys face Facebook? Are you talking about? You're talking about? Apparently the slices have a pay age, like some kind of a fan group page that Brodie and I are not a part of we we we've not we're not invited. We're not in there. We're not invited to it. And and it gives you guys an opportunity to voice your opinions whatever. But if you've got constructive criticism and we don't see it, we won't know what your opinions are on certain things. And so it's been brought to our attention that of late, there have been some very strong opinions being voiced about what you guys like, what you don't like, things you think have changed in the podcast. So if one of you would like to compile all the commentary and email us scary what email address the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. We would love to know what you guys are saying. Now, we're not joining the group because we want you to still be able to interact and whatever. And we don't be weird. That would be weird to be part of that group, like, hey, you know, right, I don't I don't you know, let people talk about what they want to talk about, specific specific things like oh I wish they did more of this or that. And I will say somebody commented that the tone of the podcast the last four or five weeks has been a little different. Or six weeks, I will say, Um, being quarantined scary and I aren't going to lunch together scary, and I aren't going to corporate events together where he's wearing his smoking jacket. We're not not having while you know, weird interactions with interns where we bring them into the show, Spruce isn't around to pull in. Um, you know, my mom's quarantined. So you know, this is a lot. We're not going to met games, We're not we're not going out to dinner, so we're not full speed for sure. We're not full speed. So what we've made the best of it for the last weeks, I would and so you may have noticed I relied a little more on phone interactions with customer service people because that's the only people I'm seeing or talking to a week. So I just wanted to let you know we we are aware that tone has changed slightly in the past few weeks because of circumstances beyond our control. But we are doing our best, uh to to give you, you know, the show, which is why we should take this podcast on the road. Let's do Let's let's have a vacation with our podcast. Let's uh, we can do it at your pool. I told you I'm there. You don't want to do it. You don't like that my condition things on in the background. You want to sit up by my pool with the water going on. People would forgive us for the bad sound at that point. So you want to do like when when when the Elvis Rand Morning Show goes to Atlantis and the Bahamas, when we sit by the pool with our version, we you know what, we can go to Brooklyn. We can open up a fire hydrant. We'll put a sprinkler cap on it now because they gives us out for free if you call three one one, and then we can sit there with our with our broadcast equipment. And then every time a car stops at a red light, we can interview them or something and they could jump in on the podcast. But I'm telling you there's something more there, all right, But it is your two equipment portable. It is not I'd have to buy an another dollar piece of equipment or wheels. I really think we should go visit. We should do it from elmb Spimoney Gardens right there in brocklen Boys Rockland Roland Boys, brock Las
