Speaker 1: My mouth is watering again, Brodie. Okay, when isn't it watering? Because you and I were just talking about Omaha steaks because the ship's supposed to ride for us today. Yeah, they're allowing us to sample the deal that we're passing on to our listeners for. You're gonna get to tender fileming yones too, beefy top sterlines. That's in addition to the two fileting jones. Four chicken fried steaks to boneless pork chops. But wait, there's more. This is when we say that right for all beef Omaha steak burgers for gourmet jumbo francs. Twelve ounces of all beef meatballs. Oh god, I love meat balls. Uh. One pound of steakhouse fries. Gotta have the steak and the fries, meat and potatoes kind of guy, you know me, Four camel apple tartlets. One Omaha Steak seasoning packet, which is you know, you don't have to think about it and throw it on. But wait, there's more. You get four more grill ready Omaha steak burgers free with purchase. So picture all of that coming in one giant case for just in time for Father's Day. This is the deal of a lifetime. I've been working in radio for twenty something years now. I haven't seen a deal this aggressive over seventy eight percent off. To be fair, most of the time, it's like, oh, you get thirty off seven. I shop in the stores. There's I told you this last week on the last podcast. There's an Omaha Steaks store near my house. I go in there, I pay full price, occasionally have a coupon. I'm not gonna lie to you. You can't get a seventy coupon doesn't exist. This is for our Brooklyn Boys podcast listeners. Uh and we we did this deal with them, saying, look, you've got to be aggressive for all of our listeners of our podcast. We talk about steak dinners all the time. So make sure you go to Omaha Steaks dot com uh and and get this delivered to your house. Here's the tricky part. There's a little search window. You just type in the word Brooklyn. Don't hit the search feature, and when you type Brooklyn you should get like a little dropped down of a logo of Steaks and it's his Brooklyn Boys podcast. Yes, click that and then place your order like Richard Nardella did. On UH on Twitter. He he tweeted us said so excited he got the order. Craig Wigginton Jr. He ordered immediately last week. It's for a limited time only, perfect for Father's Day. Uh. It's Omaha Steaks dot Com, search Brooklyn and then click on the dropdown that comes up. Put Brooklyn in the little window and then it drops down automatically. Yeah, and then he don let's I'm gonna say one more thing about the listeners of this podcast. They all congratulated us on getting not only a sponsor, but a sponsor that fits so well with us and who we are. It's a win win, So thank you everyone for the support, because we don't have a sponsor. About you guys, So thank you. Thank you. Start up dot Up, star Up Brooklyn. By start Up Brooklyn, buy up. They make it noise. Episode top We're trying to start up. Shut Up, Shine Up Shine. On episode forty of the Brooklyn Boys podcast. I'm getting scared. I'll tell you what because when we were an episode owed twenty something, right, we went to UH a live broadcast for another podcast, and people like, what are you gonna do your live broadcast? And I was like, I don't know, maybe when we get to fifty because uh, we were at uh podcast, an Acquired Taste podcast, our friends and everyone got up to the hundredth episode and I was like, wow, by the time we get to a hundredth episode, another year, next year. At some point I said, I said, Joe, which is now, I'm gonna say nine weeks away because we're doing two episodes this week. Yes, we are promise you two weeks. This is your free dessert. You get another one, right, this is what we're recording this on June four, two eighteen. But wait a second, is it really free dessert though, because this is really last week's Yeah, this is last this is late dessert. Now. I'm not going to get into the free dessert thing because you know, I'm a fan of it, but we just don't have the time to do an extra, extra episode, extra And I feel like you guys have to understand, we were traveling, we were on were on the Norwegian Bliss. We did not have the opportunity but twice yeah, in Los Angeles and then Seattle. Prior to that, Miami and New York. But now we're done now, no more on the On the Cruise Show. Until we take a two week vacation at the end of June, but that'll be another story. Yeah, but I'm talking about the Bliss. I'm not going on my cruise, I think until next year. So technically this is last week's podcast and Thursday you get this week. Um. I will say that thirty nine and thirty eight are doing very well with listeners. I guess because we didn't do an episode, so people are catching up and they're and they're going back and listen to That's not good for me. Good enough, I know. I want to see it. I want to see it form out Last Out which survived. Hello. I will say this, there's one episode that we always talk about, like after the episode when we were done recording. What you guys don't know is we argue and debate over the exact verbiage of the title, and we've talked about this. The title sometimes makes it it's the runt of the litter. Tell him which one it is? No, No, I'm not gonna don't know. I want to get to I want to focus on the positive. So we did a podcast that I didn't think was better. This much better than any other ones. But we there's a podcast we did where I think it was really long and you wrote too long or something, and then you wrote, uh, no woman ever said that something like that is the title of it. And I was like, come on, man, You're like, no, no, it's catchy. That podcast has almost twice as many listens as every other podcast we've done. I also want to point out, since we're talking about listens, I want to again we thank the listeners for their amazing support in in thanking us and congratulating us on getting a sponsor. A lot of times people go, oh, you're gonna sponsor, let's do a commarte. Thank you for everybody tweeting us saying we're so proud of you and that you you know, you guys are period. So we're gonna have to produce some results for these that's right. The more people buy almost station enter the word Keyward Brooklyn. Uh. But so far, it seems like people will find in a way. By the way, as you do that, definitely screenshot it and send it on Twitter with you. Yeah, we'll retweet you. Right. So people have been doing that, screenshotting their their purchase and so uh we um, we were in a meeting, um, a couple of weeks ago, we didn't talk about this. We were talking about with somebody else does a podcast for our company, and they were very excited that they were doing really well and uh and they heard we got a sponsor, so they they The guy says to me, how did you guys get a sponsor? I said, well, you know, we're doing really well, the podcast taking off because we mind's doing really well. We just had record numbers. I saw, that's great. What how many listens do you get? You know? And he told me very proud of it, worried that I might feel ashamed of our numbers. Now we're were It turns out five times more than he had. That's happening embarrassing, but you know, but here's what I'm gonna say. That's a that's a loyalty that our Brooklyn Boys podcast listeners have. Not only did they listen, but they listen in order. We love that. But they listened more than once. They're like, oh, I listened three times, right, I love it. But why if you've heard the material, why do people go back home? Why? Why why do people watch the Office over and over and over and over again? Why fools fall in love? Whider birds sing so gay. That's an actual song lyric Um Psyche Lyman and the Teenagers. Wow, very good, Brodie. Uh So we are doing our first appearance, but it's not a it's not a live show. Uh oh this is this is the first official Brooklyn Boys appearance public appearance together as representatives of our radio station with the Brooklyn Boys logo on it in Brooklyn. Yeah. So it's going on this Thursday. If you happen to be around Brooklyn Thursday June or near an airport, come fly into Brooklyn. Uh, fly into Laguardi or Kennedy and then come on over. We're gonna be on the Brooklyn Waterfront uh Pier six with live music from Daughtry hold on Chris Daughtry the Band and Bleachers Acoustic. They're doing acoustic Scess. Jack anton Off is gonna be there doing acousti where his Met's head from four to eight pm. It's a free concert. But if you want to R s v P, yes you have to do that, go to z one dot com slash River Park. That's z one dot com slash River Park and you don't need us to repeat it. Just hit the back button on your whatever you're listening to this is true. So yeah, so we'll be there on stage four to a p M. Both wear Brooklyn shirts. Yes, we don't have Brooklyn Boys shirts, but we got shirts to say Brooklyn, right, and I we do have Brooklyn Boys stickers, which I'm like, we have a couple we don't have like to give away. We'll talk about why we have stickers in a second. But this is not only is this our first appearance like as a thing, but it's Brooklyn and we get to watch Daughtry and Bleachers in Brooklyn with you know, and there's gonna be a lot of people there and they're gonna be Bleachers fans there. There's gonna Bedaughtry fans. But how about we have Brooklyn Boys represent So we're in finding youtub this go to go to the website. I'm gonna have a microphone in my hand. Maybe I'll complain about something. Maybe maybe you'll do a rant live on stage, maybe complained about the lighting or something that. No, no, but anyway, come out see us and and I'm sure there'll be an area we can come over and say hi. And and it's it's called with Love from Brooklyn, has check with Love from Brooklyn uh, and uh, of course it's celebrating the beautiful neighborhood of cobble Hill. Cobble Hill is a wonderful area. If you're not from Brooklyn, cobble Hill is one of those areas where you probably never heard of it. You're right, you probably I never heard a cobble Hill. And I'm trying to think of like a landmark in cobble Hill where we're going Lacali's Pizza. Yeah, it's a really nice area by the bridge. Oh, it's right on the waterfront, instagram worthy. Yeah, Instagram buble right, and we'll be there and oh yeah, by the way, Doughtry and bleachers acoustically. Oh, I'm meant to ask you about this speaking of Instagram. Yeah, what I do, no nothing, not you. I'm gonna call you out on Instagram in a minute. Well you could do that. But in the meantime, there's a growing trend where people are calling themselves public figures on Instagram. Have you seen this? Um And there's articles that have now been written that have said, if you're a public figure on Instagram, if your if your profile says public figure under your name, you're a douche. Now at what point, are you a public figure? Because they're they're accusing specifically a certain segment of like our our audience millennials, of going on and and being and saying, you know what, I'm self absorbed person, I am a public figure. What But but my question is this, I'm okay with it with people doing it, but what constitutes a public of what? Everybody who goes out in public is a public figure? Well? Right, what exactly does that mean to you? I think in this day and age, anyone with a big social media following once there they think it. But are they having a popular YouTube channel not a public figure or maybe well I don't know, but there are people that did what what? What this article tries to say is that the people are becoming they're calling themselves public figures when they're acting an example of a public figure. Well, I'm a public figure regionally. So I was I was at uh like, I don't have that written on my Instagram, need to do? You know? I was at my grocery store, my my supermarket, uh last weekend, and I was by the deli counter getting me some boar's head not a sponsor, and uh, well I'm just saying anyway, so um. Uh. Guy comes up to me goes, hey, are you David Brodie. I said, yes, I am, And he introduced himself to me and he said as a fan and he listens And I said, how did you spot me, like with a shopping cart going to buy deli meat? Uh? And he said, wow, listen all the time. Yeah, no, I steal that. This is what you don't think. Avoid the embarrassment away. So I think you're a public figure if you're in the public eye enough that the public would recognize you. Um, but by that token is a is a killer republic figure if he's on the news. And I think you know what I mean. So if you're if you're a famous public figure, you're you're in the public You're in the public eye. That's terrible. I just think people you know who like food bloggers, are they public figures? Where do you draw the line? Well, okay, technically they are. So we had a girl here in turn she had like a hundred and fifty thousand followers. She posted pictures of food. Now is her account famous? Sure? But she would be the last person to say she's a public figure. Well. I just find a very awkward that some people are using that. I think that if you're in if you're in the radio industry, if you're in the media, television, you have a right to put it there, although I think it's a little showy. Now on on Facebook, I do have the word public figure because I needed to find my page. What kind of people you understand that? So, But on Instagram it's a choice. It's literally like you have to actually go into Instagram and physically choose it. And it's in gray. It's not it's it's part of a different type set. It looks kind of cool. But now call me when you call me when you're verified by Instagram. If you're a verified band, no Tralo, you gotta get one of those. David. Yeah, thanks, that's up to Instagram. By the way, big news, big news. Speaking of which, I've been verified on Twitter now for about a year and I'm very thankful to Twitter for verifying me. And you know, I've had the problems with the other David Brody had three today by the way, and to last night, but I I no longer I'm going by David underscore Brody and people got upset because they used to be saying David unscored Brody. Like one word, I am now at David Brody. The Underscore is gone. Well, I still own that account, but I'm not using it. You know what, you kind of sucked yourself because on Instagram you're still David Underscore Brod. Well here's the dumbass thing I did. I had Twitter and I couldn't get at David Brody because the guy who had it is that other David Brodie. Let me guess, David Brody was available on Instagram at the time, ship and I didn't take it. Hold somebody have it now? Yeah, I didn't take it. I took David Underscore Brody. Why match? Because everybody says you should match your social understand why people don't, right, But I should have grabbed the David Brody for the sake of it. So I waited like a week and I was like, you know what, I should probably get the David Brody too. What was I thinking? And I went back and I went and some kid has doesn't use it. So whatever I don't, I don't want it. Yeah. Anyway, So I'm at David Brody now Twitter. Right. We we contacted Twitter. We asked him to get me the account. And if you don't use an account for six months, you're apt to lose it, which, by the way, every day I checked to see you know. Yeah. So the guy who owned it previously hadn't used it since two thousand nine. He was never going to use it again. So I filed and they gave it to me. However, they were supposed to give it to me. What they did was without me asking, they switched out my David Underscore Brody account automatically made it at David Brody. So I'm seeing tweets to me at David Brodie. I'm writing and people back going you're using the wrong account. I'm not that guy. Now you are right, And then I had to quickly go and register David Underscore Brody to me because it was released. It was released, someone's gonna steal it. Well they can't. No, I have it again. Good, I already haven't I set it up? This is like when what fantasy football, when you're just like, you know, it's like a claims right when he drops the guy. You gotta know you got the handcuffing the players where you were, you got running back, and then you got the guy on the bench right, so his back up, so David Underscore Brody is my handcuffs. I also have. I have a lot of the best David Brodie's, now, I mean I have a I have a lot of them. I have the best ones. I have the best to have the best David Brodie. Dad, he's the real Brodie. Yes, well, won't the real Brodie? Please stand up? Okay, please stand up. I want to talk about that in a minute, because you know I'm still pissed about that song. The real David Brodie, the real I wrote that song for Greg Brady when Slim Shady had to hit. That's right, Barry Williams, take it back. So so Barry William's still talking about my Twitter number one second, So now at David Brody, which means every podcast before this, when you listen in order, is going to tell you the wrong one. So if you tweet the old one, it doesn't go to the new one. If you start typing my name, it shows up the new one. So I have to keep the other account now, so when people tweet met the wrong one, I can go please use the other one. So anyway, Greg Brady, he's not even on my list. Listen, I gotta get a list here, I got three weeks worth of stuff. I have a couple of things too. But before I get to that, I want to talk to you about Instagram. But wait, why don't you tell people about David, about about Greg? But I want to tell on Instagram for a second for it? All right, So at Scary Jones in a paid partnership with a fine product. I'm not going to mention the product here because I don't get paid to promote them. You do. You posted a picture of yourself enjoying that product, and you clearly put paid partnership with the product because it was a paid fat fat fat watch it and everybody underneath was like, hit the jingle jingle? Why well? And then you can't hit the jingle on Instagram. I think it's it was a paid partnership and it says it clearly understand it partnership. I understand that they paid me. I understand that. Let me tell you, man, sparkling ice is amazing. I've been drinking at all. They don't pay you to say that here on this podcast, all right. They gotta pay both of us. You like it? Though it was looked natural and organic, did you know what it didn't? It did Okay, God, what flavor you drinking in that picture? Uh? Strawberry lime made. Okay, that's the one. I'm gonna try. Cherry line made. The cherry I'm gonna try. It's good, very good, very good. I'll tell you what. It's relaxed. I'm just wanting to point everyone hit the chingle um. Okay. I also want to talk about the biggest moment of the week on social media for us. You want that a Greg Brady, I haven't. No, I have the Eyewitness News intro standing by for the biggest moment in social media huge. But before we get that is the culmination of forty episodes of our audience totally getting what do and it's full circle. Even Alvis Durant commented it on Instagram. We won, we went. You'll have to read all this calm okay. So two thousand three four, whenever slim Shady was a hit, why don't I right? Why I can't play the song for them? Hold on, you can play? Let me give you set up? So uh in my mind when it was on slim Shady, it's I'm the real Shady. Barry Williams, who's the actor who played Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch, a great forum for Brody's old party, had been in the news. He was promoting a book, The Real Johnny Bravo, and it popped into my head, Wow, he's the real Greg Brady. Wait a minute, I should do a parody hold on a little bed for you as you're talking about this douche. Okay, well, I'm he's only partially douche. So one of the DJ's here at the radio station knew his manager. His manager's name is Anthony, and so we contacted Anthony and he said, oh, yeah, you're We know who you are. We'd love to eat to see the lyrics that you sent and you wrote. And I said, okay, well, um, I've already had them recorded by a parody singer, so I'll send you the version. You can hear how it's supposed to sound, and let me know what Barry thinks, because Barry sings. It'd be great. So I get an email from and the manager, Anthony and Barry contact me and they say, hey, listen, another guy named j and Cincinnati. He wrote a parody also for the real Greg Brady. But we like a lot of your lines and some of his. We're gonna put them together, and uh, we want to like do a real deal with the song record and go into the studio and make this song. Barry he's gonna sing and he loves it and so uh and you guys will get credits. I said, well, he goes. He says, we want to sell it because you know, Johnny Bravo has got a whole line of product. Johnny Bravo was a character who played on The Brady Bunch. Is it great? So we signed paperwork the whole thing. And so I look at the lyrics from the final version and it's like my lyrics, other guy's lyrics. And I called him and we talked, we joked around about and we both wrote this song for Barry Williams. And the CD comes out and it says written by Barry Williams, no mention of written by me or written by him, and it's just like I thank you in the liner notes. So he got hold on. So I asked, how the hell can you say written by you? Here's what he did. He changed a couple of words. That's terrible. I think he changed like the name of a candy bar to a different candy bar. Uh. And then he made like different mixes. And let me guess legally, legally, if you can put yourself down as a writer, son of now, you're supposed to put your name last. If you wrote nothing but one word, well, let me tell you, Brodie, that it's not in our computer system. But when you do a quick Google search, you are very quickly reminded that that the real Greg Brady is by Barry Williams. And it's by Barry Williams. But I wrote it mostly and and and they produced it because ZE hundred New York station was willing to play it and we had on the show. He then went on other shows, national shows like Opiing Anthony, who was a regular on and did not. I had to have my friends on that show remind him to say that I wrote it. And then he went and performed on the Billboard Music Awards like on a basical what no, great? Okay great? How much money do you think that you're out because of this? Dude? Okay? I don't know how much money I'm out, but here's what I'll say. When the money came in from the songs they sold on the website, I was told, oh, we have to pay for the licensing rights to the song, and we have to pay all the musicians that recreated the music bed and there's no money left. Oh yeah, not a penny. So no, no, no, if you can't find it on YouTube, because I have the c d s, I have a lot of them I want to play and so I'm not a man at Barry. He's a good guy. His manager stiffed me, Anthony, f you, Anthony, there's my few my first def you for the episode, so we could play it here. That's not it, that's not Wow. There's somebody impostors out here. Um, I'm trying to find it. Is a lot real, Greg Brady, Yeah, come on man, Amazon Music. Four and a half stars, Brodie Yeah, four and a half stars. Uh, it wants me to pay for it. You're not gonna see it. It's three dollars and forty cents. It's not on YouTube. You know what. We should make it available? Not giving my stuff away. Well it's not yours. Apparently it's by Barry Williams. I know, but it's not online. It's uh, look something to look forward to next the next episode. I will if I remember bringing the CD. We don't have it here, probably on my computer videos? Do you make a music video? Not? All right, let's move on, shall we? We want to get to the news. I got someone things talk about. I I have this, we have the breaking news. I gotta breaking news on on in the audience. One of our first f us that's right if you remember, because you because you listen to Order Ape seventy seven wrote a scathing review about our podcast that he's the only negative review. Five stars from everybody. We have six or forty eight on iTunes. And this dude was upset that we were pizza chewing and he said, hey, idiots, stopped chewing on the you know, and he gave us one star or something right, And so I said, f you Ape seventy seven, and that became a running bit, would you f you? Agnes, f you everybody? So f you Ape seventy seven. He doesn't have a social media account. He just put the post up that was like twenty episodes ago. It was so long ago. Wow, we thought that it was a one and done. Listen for that guy. Oh no, no, it looks like he's been with us the entire way. Because on Saturday, if you go to the follow the Brooklyn Boys on Instagram. Well, he put this up on Thursday, right, but we on Saturday we posted it for us at the Brooklyn Boys want people to follow our instant Graham account. It's kind of lacking. We're still into a thousand. Uh. The headline reads still idiots from ABE seventy seven. Okay, so at this point I'm thinking, fuck you. See I was thinking the same thing. So I thought he was coming in for round two here he was gonna double down on it. But no, he writes, So you've been on the air for thirty something episodes. Who the fuck cares? Oh? So then you wouldn't have a problem with Lester Holt chewing down chowing down on a grinder while delivering the nightly news. Right hold on, so I narrowed it down. The guy is not from the York from here, because nobody New York calls it a grinder. Grinder is Connecticut and New England. He's a Connecticut guy. I could tell so right away. Maybe he's a masshole because because in New York with Chew when we talk, already know he's on a New Yorker and nobody had calls it a grinder. Anyway, What makes you so fucking special you guys, the he's been on the air a little bit more time than you have recording your audio podcasts. Yeah, what makes you so something? At this point, f you Ape seventy seven. Right, then a break in his action and writes, despite all that, I love this episode and my family really appreciated hearing you guys cussed me out. Here's your five stars, five star rating boom waiting seven. So I thanked him, thank you Age seven. I mean, still f you APE seventy seven, but thank you Ape seventy seven. But coming around, But that's a backhanded compliment if yes, yeah, Still, it's like he was like he was throwing a pity party on Apple for us. Okay, now, remember he wrote, still idiots, So I'm gonna say, still f you APE seventy seven, but thank you for the nice comments. Sure, I'm glad you liked episode thirty. Yes, I don't see anything nice other twenty nine episodes before that. But you know what I'll give you. He's coming around. He's kind of considering how much we and all of our listens have best APE seventy seven gave credit for sticking around. So I just like the chewing about to do. I'm about to break into this popcorn. This is I'm gonna dedicate this to you, age seventy seven. Okay, there's a story about this popcorn. So yeah, did you post? I didn't post the picture, not yet. We should probably post one on instant. I'm gonna do that today. Ill. Yeah, give me the helicorn. Yeah, Jody's calicorn um. This is Jody's. Jody is not a sponsor. Not a sponsor. Yeah, this is seventy seven. Hold on a seven idiots is plural. I always should do. We should send someone is pop going to lust hole? Hold on? Wait, um, hold on? The this is if you by the way I mean at seven probably has he does have and Sfonia is defined as when you have problems with people chewing or making clacking noises. Noise set you off. You have me sofonia. If this bothers you right now, you got me sofonia. And here's a song for you, fell so Mr Ape seventy seven with the met sulfonia and everyone else who can can that. Yeah, we'll stop because people turning us off. But anyway, you can't stop eating this. Jody's kettle corn. Not a sponsor, but they sent up peanut butter, they send up caramel, but most importantly, they sent up cheddar flavor. But tell them why it's so special, Brodie. Okay, so what Jody's is famous for, Well, she's not famous being Jody's popcorn. Yet Jody's makes gool made popcorn, not a sponsor, and they provide popcorn for like sporting arenas in different places that sell popcorn and there's no name on it. They are one of the companies that sells their great popcorn. So they came up here and they gave us packages of popcorn with the Brooklyn Boys logo stickers on them. How great would it be if we could sell these? What do I say? We should call them popcorn? Podcorn? We're gonna pitch them. We gotta get them on here. We gotta get to be a future sponsor. Anyway. They actually they do other gifting and they do branding. They were trying to show us an example of what they do for the Jody's brand. But but you know them, You've eaten their popcorn at places before. But they just can't talk about it because Jody and I told her this because she's a very nice woman. I said, I like the name Jody. But even as a kid, my parents told me, you can never name your child Jody because then she'd be Jody Brody. You wouldn't want second name. Did you avoid naming your daughter Jody? Yeah? I wanted to name my daughter after my grandfather, who who started with a J. Jody brand named my daughter with a J. But I could not choose Jody because I just couldn't do Jody. What's wrong with rhyming names? I went to school with a girl in Brooklyn. Her name if you know her to tell her? I said, hi, But her name was Gina Dafina. And I just feel like, I feel like a person that's named Gina Dafina is doomed as far as occupation. Was a nice girl, very pretty girl. I just feel like, really, Gina Dafina, you could name your daughter anything, you have to pick Gina. It's like the newscaster in New York, John Johnson. Are you telling me you couldn't come up with Philip Philip Phillips? Come on that. Even they have a nice ring to it. Maybe these people could be famous. Have you ever heard of Gina Dafina? No, that's I'm gonna I'm gonna steal her Instagram if you know what, I've never looked her up. I haven't. I haven't seen her way too long. My point was I didn't want my daughter to be Jody Brody, and they go Jody Brodie. It's just like, why pick on a kid? Like? Why give him a reason to get picked on? Yeah, you don't like that. I kind of find it unique. You think that that that if your less name with Shmanthony, would you want to be Anthony Smanthony? Oh? You want to be salth Schmanthony. Then be like, nobody cares. I got you negative attention to your name is Anthony Boloney, but my friends called me Tony Belone. Okay, you wouldn't. I'm well, what if the boss was Elvis Pelvis? You don't want that? I like it. I think it would for radio. It works. I have a problem here. What's the matter? Because I'm not Brody. I can't help going back in. You know how popcorn is, you just can't have one, like when you get an amusement, a little sweet, little salty, little bit of both. I'm trying to hold on. I'm gonna push it away, all right. Um, So the Puerto Rican Day Parade is coming up this Sunday, and I have a quandary. Um, you're not Puerto Rican and you still want to go? No, I would, That's fine. There's a lot of people that are not by thewise a quandries. I've got a list here that we planned. This is off the list for five alex at the list. Uh, they want me to host it. They want me to host the radio stations float. Now I feel awkward because is is Puerto Rican Day Parade? Is it a pride of celebrating Puerto Rico, So therefore it's okay for a non Puerto Rican to host the float. I mean, I'm clearly Italian and and I have no Spanish in me, not that I know. Okay, if I could just point out that Puerto Rico is an island, it doesn't matter if you're Italian. But I'm not Spanish, I'm not Puerto Rican. I'm not in Puerto Rican descent, but I don't speak Spanish, and I don't and I don't and I'm not None of my family hails from the island of Puerto Rico, a commonwealth of the United Stilet me ask you a question, and again, I know I'm simplifying this. I'm not trying to offend anyone. But if you were on in Philadelphia Quano too, if they asked you to be the Grand Marshal of the Philadelphia Parade, would you feel awkward and guilty about it? No? Okay, Well you were on the float for the Gay Pride Parade of Miami. You're not gay, okay. Um. Puerto Rico, although its own culture, it's still part of America, right, It's it's not even stand that it's there's plenty to be proud of. And if your angle on it is I'm proud and and and and to support I'm proud to celebrate and support this. The great culture of Puerto Ricans in New York are a huge percentage of our population. Um, there's there's nothing. There's very little more fun in terms of parades. Well, I arguably it's one of the most fun parades in New York every year. Right, So I I would hope that people who are of Puerto Rican heritage would not be offended. But um, if you don't go, we don't happen to have any Puerto Ricans on staff here at the moment. So somebody has to go. So why shouldn't it be someone that understands and appreciate. Okay, you're not helping yourself there, But no, that's a song. I understand that. By the way, I was on the float a couple of years ago and they played it over and over and over and over again. That's because every every two blocks is a news crowd. Yeah, so I just why we play shown Mendez every fifteen minutes. But they want me to affront this, they want me to be on the microphone actively. I'm mean, what could I possibly say going down the streets and what you can't do? You can't do Spanglish. Well, I'm not gonna try. You can't be like everybody New York. I shouldn't try and fit in what's up newether York. Don't do that. But by the way, Puerto Ricans don't even call it neuev York. They call it New York. Yeah, I'm just saying, don't. Yeah, I can't be a New Yorrican. You shouldn't even say that New York. I understand the term. I'm saying you shouldn't say it. But all right, this is no offense to anybody. Okay, so maybe I should do it. But what are they What are the people gonna think on the streets, you know, flying the flags and stuff like that, and then they see me white boy, white boy Jones on a float, you know, coming through. I don't know. I don't know how it's gonna be interpreting. There are there are people of many, Okay, as long as it's colors in shapes and Puerto Rico. As long as I'm accepted by the crowds, then I will gladly do it. You want to do with me, No, my friend, but there's several there's plenty of My friend dated a guy from Puerto Rico who is lighter skin than you. I don't think that's an issue. I don't think why you'd light or dark away. Just go and have fun, okay, and have fun? All right? Well that's what I was doing before. But did you shut me down when I'm going, Okay, that's a good song. I think that's like somebody's dad going to a uh Ariana Grande concert with the cat Ears, and I think I think you have to draw the line. You want to go. You like Ariana, so I I should go, but not try and fit in. Yeah, speaking Ariana Grande. Who don't get a tattoo after a month with like, well, Pete Davidson from Saturday Night Live is dating her? Are they dating to seeing each other? Whatever? Words? The damn there together and they wanted together. I want our knowledge a month he got a tattoo behind in the back of his neck. Look, Pete's Pete's very comfortable. He's got double sleeves on, you know he has. I just think tattoos are permanent and most relations aren't most relationships and so uh he put the Ariana Grande cat mask ear thing logo on behind his ear. Hm, why don't you just buy us some flowers? You know what I mean? Yeah? It reeks of desperation and psychosis. You know what happen when they break up. I don't want to break up. I listen, listen. They might get married. Who knows. Here's the thing, though, he did put the horror initials allegedly on his finger A G. Now this was an unused joke, and I'm gonna go ahead and say it, and I'll explain it for those of you don't know. The explanation is, what if the A G doesn't stand for Ariana Grande? What if it stands for Attorney General. What if he's a big Jeff Sessions fan. We didn't get to that joke on the here today, Jeff Sessions the attorney generally United States. Should we do an unused jokes? Not right now, No, I'm not ready for that. No. I want to talk about the Grande tattoo thing. Okay. I just think, like, was he just desperate to get another tattoo? I think he. I think he's trying to make up for the fact that he's not not a biggest and not as the biggest star as she is, so he's got to do something to overcompensate. Dudes on SNL respect for him in the world and island guy and he's a nine eleven child, his dad was killed at nine eleven, Yeah, firefighter, and he knows much respect. But and he's talked about some of his his issues. I just and maybe that's part of it, maybe something in his way he thinks. I just think the average person, if we're talking about the average I just think it's too soon to get a tattoo, Like I'm two tattoos, Like I just I don't know. I'm the I'm of the mindset that if you like someone that much, tell her, But that would be like me dating Demilvado. Same thing on your League. Dude, You're not Pete Davidson. Pete Davidson's a national touring comic, one of the stars of SNL for four or five years. Now, Okay, so I'm not. I'm not at his level, but and his buddies Colin, Joe'sphy, so bring it down to uh so be like, what a double date that is? Thank squad? Joe wants to hang out with a grande? Probably not? What about? Okay? So then would that be like me dating bab Rexhaw. No, it would be you like, it would be like you dating your girlfriend. Dude, your girlfriends out of your League. I was reminded of that on the cruise Out of Your League? Were you staring with X ray vision? What was going on there? No, dude, we were in the the Aqua Spah. Yeah. We were in the hot with the bubbling pool and the hot tub and the steam room and the salt room and the keep. We weren't able to deliver another podcast to this, okay, And then I'm saying we were in a salt bath and we were hanging out. Okay, but but your girlfriend is a friend. I'm just saying that as an observer. She is the ariana grand date to your Pete Davidson. She's been very easy on the But I ain't getting no tattoo behind my neck. But you don't have to because you take her on cruises and you tell you love her. I think that's enough. I don't think you need to show your dad a case into someone by tattooing their cat image on the back of your ear. I agree with you, Brodie. I'm just wondering the old days. She took a girl at dinner and she appreciated it, Like, isn't that enough? What if it's a temporary tattoo? And this is just what I said. I bet it's a temporary You know why because her song dropped, she's her album, and she's she's touring. She she's in full on promo mode right called it this morning on the Big Show. So maybe this is a pr brilliant and he's a comic. It's brilliant because we're all talking about yes a thousand, Brody, you know what, I rest my case a temporary You did hear me say it in the room this morning? Okay? So you rest my case. I rest your case. And that's not because I'm an only child. But I did say it first. Okay, what is this only child thing? Not going back today? But everything I do you blame on that and today, by the way, today's fifteen minute morning show was a travesty on top of a sham of a mockery. What are you talking? Wait? Wait what it was? There was a travesty on top of a sham of a mockery. Okay, not eating popcorn the podcast. I'm sorry, I got I'm gonna reach back for it. Yeah, why do you say that? It just because I'm not even to get into it, because I'm still pissed about it. This is supposed to be a topic you're gonna bring up here in the Brooken Boys. You want to talk about it. I'm we're generally you're pissed about it. Let's deal with deal with it by avoiding and eating you. I'm just gonna say not everything is a fact of my own child, all right. So what I was saying was I think it's a fake tattoo, and it definitely is. Unlike Ben Affleck's tattoo on his back. Everyone thought it was fake because it's so horrifically bad. It's like Jeelie, it's so bad you think it's not real. The movie he did with Jennifer Lopez right with Jello, Right, what's Jello? Yeah, Jeli is so horrifically bad. That's how bad Ben Affleck's back tattoo is. For those of you, I don't know where you're living who have not seen his back tattoo, it's horrific. People thought it was for a movie role. Oh no, it's real. Um. And by the way, if you have the same tattoo as an Affleck, I apologize yours is horrific. We really got to stop eating on the podcast, people, Can I tell you I want to go over with some things that I wanted to cover today because we already covered about your perfect go for it. I lost my bluetooth I had ten of them. But don't get all crazy to talk about this. You you're ripped me for wearing a bluetooth piece when I drive in the car. All right, I was on in l a Thank God for small favors that you lost it. I have ten more of them. I stopped christ hard to get so I left it in the hotel room. In Los Angeles. So I called the hotel the next day and I say, hey, listen, I was in room blah blah blah, and the left bedroom because Jeff and I got a suite. We had bedroom on each side of the living room. Right, okay. It was through his company with a discount of Montoy Piloy, and uh. I left it. I charged it, I unplugged it. I took the charger and left it on the on the counter by the television set. So I call the guy. He puts me touch with security. I speak to the guy insecurity and I say, hey, I left my bluetooth. It's a blue Bluetooth earpiece. I left that. Those were your words on the phone. Blue blue Bluetooth earpiece. Right. You know I'm obsessed with blue. I buy blue bluetooth earpieces. Okay, made by plant Tronics. So I said, it's a Plantronics blue Bluetooth earpiece. And you know what he says to me, can you describe it? Fuck? You already described it? How can I describe it? It's an airpiece. It's a Bluetooth dear piece. It's about an inch and a half long, like every Bluetooth de apiece, and it goes in my ear Can you please describe it? I said, sir, I just described it. I don't know how else I can describe it. It's a bluetooth. If you I'll tell you what I said to him. Any bluetooth earpiece you find in room two thousand seven, it's nothing if you're not sure if it's lavender or it's like blue, or it's off the marine. Right. Oh, wait a minute, this one is oblong. He didn't say it was. That's mine. What is it? Rectangulism, more of a trapezoid? What did you find that wants mine? Can I describe? Is he? Is he going? Is he going through the box? The big the big box of flootooth? I got a hundred of him here, sir? Can you be more specific? Do you have any there? No? Then what does it matter if I describe again ship as you security guard? Wow? Yeah, I wasn't ready for that. That was like a sneak attack on a rant. That wasn't That was just no. I'm getting started now, that's nothing I got. Hold on, I want to talk about American airlines. You taught me this policy makes any sense where we were going for? Wait? Hold on? Is this the baggage thing. Yes, people, I had a week and a half. Let me tell you, I have so many rants. We have two episodes this week. I won't cover them all, all right, So I we pack a big bag with checking bags. We're going away for a week. I eat a big bag. I take the big one, the big daddy bag. You take the big one, all right, it's not from you, then it's from your wife. What that means my wife has a big penis? Is how you're saying that makes no sense. I'm alluding to the fact that she's a man. Your girlfriend's cheating on you, she'd have to be, all right. So I take the big bag, and then inside the bag, I have a garment bag because we had to bring a suit and pants and shoes for a video we're filming, so I had to take that as well. And you know, you need shorts and T shirts for l A, but I also needed warmer clothing for Seattle. Had to pack multiple outfits and styles, shoes, flip flop sandals, the whole thing. Whatever. I get to the thing and it's twenty five dollars for the first bag, up to fifty pounds. First of all, fuck you charging me fuck you, That's what I'm saying. Second of all, I got away the bag. It's fifty seven pounds. That's a heavy bag, man, So percentage wise, that's a seventh more. So I'm figuring four bucks more. I'm rounding, don't get technical. So so I go, I was in a ten bucks. She says, no, it's a hundred, a hundred for the second seven pounds. Now for seven pounds that way, it's like when you go park it. It's like the bag gag. You explain the middle of my rant. You shut up. Come on, man, So I say ten dollars more, A hundred dollars more, I said, for seven pounds. So I said, what if I take two bags? She says it's thirty five dollars more. So I said, great, charge me with two bags. I'll pay sixty bucks, not a hundred. So she says, we can't do that. Why not? I said, for that price, I'll go buy a bag and stuff stuff in the bag. Just what doude you have to do? So I had opened up the bag in the middle of the terminal. Take out seven pounds. Dude. I stuck it in my jacket sleeve. I stuck it in my pants in my cargo shorts. I stuck it in in my laptop bag. I had shoes stick out of everywhere. I had a shoe in my sleeve of my coat. Fifty pound bag a hundred dollars for seven pounds? Are you kidding me? How do you do that? It's that's the way that they're making money. That's why they're not bankrupt. You know. I wanted to say that and not to interrupt the rant, but I have to say that. This is like when you go parking in a garage and they say the first hours ten dollars, and then two hours is more. You go one minute over the hour, they fucking they fuck you. They hit you with the full But that's what it's not right. It doesn't make it right. But I'm giving you an analogy that in every industry there's that example, and in the airline industry, that's how they get you. But your boy hooked you up on the way back, now, didn't he? Meaning me, I'm talking about myself in the third person because of what I did was I get I got two bags free because I was only can win, Because why don't you put the second freaking bag under me? And now Waila Scary Jones Bucks on the way back. Okay, so I feel zero. I did pay zero, I did, I know, enjoy that popcorn. I'm trying not to chew. I'm just gonna suck. You do you absolutely suck? All right? So, American Airlines, I understand your policy, but don't charge me a hundred dollars. Charge me, double, charge me, triple a hundred dollars. That's insanity. But I love how you have a nice relaxing time on the ship and then you have to deal with bullshit with the airlines and travel on the way home, and then you come home all unwound, and you need another vacation when you get back. Oh. You know, there's an old Confucius saying, if Confucius is a man who go to bed with itchy ass, wake up with smelly finger. Confucius also this is a true Confucius. No man needs a vacation more than one who just had one. I'd like to I like Confus. Speaking of vacations, we stopped in a great hotel in Seattle, the Fair Fairmont, and it was paid for by the fine folks at Norwegian Cruise Line. Love you guys. They put us up in the hotel because we had to go to l A for the cruise there and then fly to Seattle. We did the show there at one o'clock in the morning. One o'clock in the morning, we had to get up to do the show at three o'clock. Um. Hold on. So we get to the fam Mont Hotel and when Scary and Eyed check in because we were traveling together except one of the flights where you didn't wait for me when you got off the plane. You prick because you were sitting in the front of the plane. Let's just leave it at that, and you don't feel like waiting for me in the back of the plane. You're just gone. I got off the plane. You are gone, all right. So we get to the fam Molt Hotel and they say, uh, we see some I d for your reservations and I take out a credit card. It goes no, no, we don't need a credit card. It's taken care of by Norwegian Cruise Line. But first of all, thank you Norwegian Cruise Line, thank you and cl dot com. Uh. And so we go to our rooms and you know, they have a mini bar in the room. This is the best part. So there's like um on top of the mini bar on the counter, there's a box of chocolate chip cookies that are wrapped really tightly and they leave it out in plain view because they know that you're just gonna They're just devour it. There's to eight dollar bottles of vass water. There's the best trail mix combination of stuff I've ever had in a bag. And like the white chocolate covered raising a white white chocolate yogurt. I don't know what. They love her because you ate him with the nuts and they bounced out like the soft and the heart and the sweet and salty. It was great. Anyway back to me, So the first bag when you walk in, like staring at you like it was a bag of cheese crisps, those little squares with the ridges. They usually like just the look like bow ties, the pure cheese. Oh so good. I'm I'm looking. I'm going. I'm starving from the plane ride. I didn't eat breakfast yet, I'm really hungry. I don't know how much that bag is because I didn't I didn't look at the menu. There's like a little card and somewhere in the room, I don't know where it is. And I'm thinking, well, Norwegian cruise lines pain for this, but I feel awkward eating it, and I saw. I put my bags down, I go to the bathroom. I come back out and there it is staring at me. It's going to eat me. I'm made of cheese eating. I'm a cheese crisp. But it said like fair Mont on the bag, then the calorie count on it, which is perfect. I opened the bag and I'm like, I'll just eat one and for the three or four days we're here, I'll milk it. I ate the whole thing. So I have to change real quick and meet you in the lobby. So I come downstairs and I said, we're talking. I go, uh, I feel really guilty. You're like, why I go. I ate the bag of cheese crips crisps in like a minute and scary this to me seconds flat because while that was going on in your room, I was in the room above you doing the same exact thing, first feeling guilty, then not giving a ship speaking of the fact you're in the room above me. We check in and I was in four oh nine, I think, and you were in five oh nine. And so I go up to my room and it's a beautiful hotel, but it's a U shaped hotel. Well, it's like a like a imagining you without the curves, like a three sided like an upside down end right, and so in the middle of the end, one side of the end looks the other side, and it's like the roof of the hotel at the bottom. So really you're looking over a courtyard and the beautiful ocean in Seattle is off to the side. We're not looking. So I come down from my to uh coming off my room to meet Scary in the lobby and I and I said, Uh, how's your room? He says, it's fine. He says, you're not E didn't bring sunglasses. I go ship, I gotta back to the room and get sunglasses. As I go back to my room, my turn around, I go, hih, Scary, how great is the view of the harbor. It's amazing view. I took like ten pictures already, and you looked at me like, what on a view? Oh, yeah, my view is amazing, And then you looked at me so sad. And I went upstairs to get my sunglasses. Yeah, because I thought, wait a second, but then but then I'm thinking, look great if we're above each other. We get the same fucking view, right, So when I came down, You're like, fuck you, bro, you know what you did? Yeah, well I'll tell you. I was a little upsht though that, Um that of all days for us to be in Seattle, home of the original Starbucks, uh, Mark Hite Place, Marke the the very first well, the oldest Starbucks is there. The original one burned down, uh, and then they built the one that's currently there today Starbucks there, they built that one and then it's the oldest Starbucks. Well they we went on a day where Starbucks was all closed because of their national their national regrouping day where they remember when they closed everything else. So they had an employee retraining day. What are the odds one that we're on the that's mine on the day, right, I mean, how funny is that though, that we're there, Like, oh, by the way, we're going to the original Starbucks and the first one. So we got there on I think that the training day was Tuesday. We got them Monday, and the line was out the door. Yes, we'll come back tomorrow. We've come back tomorrow closed, but there was no line. So I'm like, oh, let's go and then I realized it was, you know, training now on the ship, Brody. I noticed it was your first, um, first silent disco. I gotta tell you that not a fan of the silent disco. If in case you're you're wondering, I mean some people that are listening to what they are, but they give you headphones. They give everybody a pair of headphones when they walk in, and they have like four or five different channels on the headphones and they correspond to different colors. The headphones light up different colors. So are you on the blue channel, the green channel, the red channel, the orange channel, like four channels, and we just have the channel in the story, well whatever, there's a yellow channel too, whatever case. So there's five channels. So you pressed, you constantly pressed the button on the side of your headphones and you could not and and it depends the different genres of music. And they're all playing different things at different times. But there's like everyone's people in the in the club social on the ship, right, But if you don't have headphones on, you don't hear anything. It's called the silent disco music in the room, right. The music is all going through your headphones. So people, you and Robin and I walk into the place, we put the headphones on. I immediately put on hard rock and there was a Scorpions the channel, if that's what it was. And I see this big tattooed guy to my right and he's like he's screaming the Scorpions the lyrics. I see his mouth matching up to what I'm hearing in the head the wind of Change. No, it was a rocky like hurricane wind Winds of Changes, like a slow song. That's when it goes. The only song I know that was the nineties. You don't know rocky like a hurricane. Yes, I know that song, but I didn't know that was them until just now. Wow. Well, anyway, so it's weird because people are dancing out of whack. Some people are screaming lyrics of songs like everyone was singing Desposito or only those that were on the Green channel. I got off that channel fast, and then you know you're on the blue channel and you get or as you would say at the parade tomorrow, Yeah, so me hen Day was was on the Green channel. So but but it was just so funny. Um A point about silent discos. They could be your best friend or your worst friend. If you want to go out with your girls, let's say, and you don't want to be fucking bothered by lunatics or creepers. Silent discos are great because you're in your headphones and you can always use the excuse of life can't hear you, Sorry, goodbye. But I also think it's so antisocial and it's the most introverted thing one can do because you're you're in headphones and when you're if you're out in a bar or a club or a lounge, you want to be able to have some conversation. How the hell do you do that? If you're at the silent discoversation and you can sing and nobody, you don't hear each other, and if the other person is listening, that's a good way to bond because you know that they've chosen the same music as you've chosen. So it could be a way to like, like the guys, the guy listening to my music with the red channel. We bonded for a second. I was like, hey, guitar, guitar, that pickup line's gotta get old quick, though, So hey, you're on the purple channel. Huh me too. Nobody hears that, but you're like you just point head purple, purple, purple, purple sing. Yeah, I'll tell you though. It was funny because we were outside the club and this guy comes up and he goes, hey, Brinian, scary, like, how does anyone in Los Angeles know who the hell we are? And he says, I love you guys, I love the podcast and listen to the other show forever. He was some queens or I think he's in Brooklyn and he he got hired to be the DJ in the club that night. He's gonna play five different sets of music at once. I don't know how that works. Oh no. At the end, all the music came together and everybody was listening to Don't Stop Believing My Journey, But then they cut it off before the big finish. Yeah, that was lame. That. It was like the fize that, the that, the the the actual Don't Stop Believe. It only happens in the last thirty seconds. To my knowledge, the only hit song that was ever written like that. It has to chorus only comes up in the last minute. The hook, the chorus, don't sing out loud. It's all about four minutes before the chorus, as the song is fucking fading, don't stop believe it. They do it like twice and the song is gone, but it has like was it? Three verses? First verse first versus first? I don't know. First First, there's a bridge. I'll tell you what song is stuck in my head right now? And and Greg, he claims u from Our Big Show claims that he'd never heard of it before this one right here. Your daughters must know this radio don't like good God. And by the way, my daughters don't know what my daughters listened to. They listen to this song. Oh my middle daughter, let's call my dogs in the night trap. You know the song right risk twisting like a stir fry. This song is so catchy. This is my ear working. Did you see him with Jimmy Fallon? And didn't They rewrote the lyric kitchen twisting like a stir fry? Look for me, goes on Jimmy Fallon. They rewrote the entire song and he came out and sang it about cooking star fry, cooking peppers and and some onions on the third fry. Hilarious. I can't get it. Out of my head that song. I don't know why listen to the food version. It's great. So, yes, great to belittling me because I chose it as my song for Yeah, it's like, it's like scary because what the hell is that? Yeah, he's not street like you are you and I and the and the like all the interns and everybody like looking him like he had like five eyes. Yeah, he's not down like we alright, So, speaking of things that you choose, you, Nate and I went to brunch on Sunday of last week and it was one of these trendy places you picked out in l A. We went to two trendy places in l A. But how do you not? Okay? So it's one of these places where you get the impression that the cheese is fresh and the meat is uh locally sourced whatever. Very nice artsy FARTZI place, fantastic hamburger. You say to the waitress, look on, you're a dope ass kid from Brooklyn that I am. Excuse me? Is the bacon housemaid? Who are you kidding? What do you want it? If they slaughtered the pig right there and made the bacon, is it housemaide? No? You know what, shut up and eat the bacon cheeseburger. Is it farm fresh? Is it? Is it free range bacon? You're eating pig fat bacon. What's the difference. I'll tell you why. Because certain certain places specialized in certain items. They called that a signature dish. You look this place up. But here's the thing. Sometimes when you're out having brunch, all right, and you get their sides, and again, this might not apply to most people that got to brunch. I don't know. I think this might be over some people's heads. But some places make chicken apple sausage in the house, or they'll be you gotta have the sausage patty because we make it fresh here. But some and the bacon might be packaged and it's like taken. You know, it's like whatever. But men, you say caramelized, make maple bacon. But sometime bacon. Sometimes people they will make in house. They will have applewood smoked bacon. So what's applewood smoke bacon? What is applewood smoked? I'm guessing what's beechwood aged beach? Nobody knows what draft. Nobody drinks bud because it's beechwood. What's beechwood is that shitty wood that washes up from a crate that broke open in the ocean. I don't put names in front of ship. It's like the old joke Jerry SEINFELDI just tell a joke. You go to a dry cleaners and it would say now with martinizing. Nobody knows what Martinizing is. But they're like, oh, it's got martinizing. The fund is Martinizing, and don't tweet me. I don't care, okay, but you don't know applewood, smoke, bacon is they have special care to it. If they make it in house, it's housemade. I want whatever, dish, whatever, I'm not gonna eat. I'm not a man, you said you, I'm not gonna eat bacon if you bake if one that would you be a housemaid pig. Here's why, because this is my logic. Logic is I love bacon and I love sausage. Okay, So so if one of the two, I can't choose between the two, you can't do a grand Slam breakfast and I'm not having both. So if one is housemade, I'm going for the housemaide every time. If something is done in house, if it's there. But if it's a shitty house. Let me tell you something. I know people live in houses. They can't cook. If if someone tells me that their their water is sparkling water that they made in the house, like I don't, they fart into the jar. I don't want it. I want that spark house sparkling water. Yes they do. They call it's called seltzer. Yes, right, but if they have, Sam Pellegrino, the apps are fucking lute worst sparkling water because it tastes like you're drinking flat seltzer. Never gonna be a sponsor. Fuck you, Sam Pellegrino. I hate Pellegrino. That is a cop out when I go to I hate Pellegrino when I go to restaurants. I'm so sorry if I'm being a little boogie here. Know I want when I want sparkling water or a a seltzer. I wanted to burn with going down when I swallowed and drink acid. I want my eyes to turn red. It shouldn't burn, should be water on bubbles. I want that. You know, when you get a good ice cold Coca Cola not a sponsor, and you go or sparkling ice sponsor, I'm sorry you son, of a bit hit the jingle ship when you do that, when you got to take that gulf and realize it. Sometimes when you swallow it like this ah, and then your eyes are bugging out of your head because it feels so good and you feel it in your face, that is a sign of a good potent Seltzer like Saratoga. Saratoga makes. You wanted the bacon right right, so so it wasn't even housemat you wanted it. My point was if they make it in the house, it's better. Point was you were gonna order that bacon. No matter what you wanted bacon on your burg. You weren't leaving there without bacon. You ordered bacon. The fact that was housemade, homemade, store bought, street made, homeless guy pooped it out. You were eating their bacon, so that it wasn't if they if there was some adjective, they would have put it there succulent bacon. No, it's bacon. I didn't say anything like doughnuts. I will go for something that's housemade. If you make a donut and simple with simple ingredients, I will have that every time. Ingredients. I'm not simple ingredient because some of them have like eighty thousand ingredients and there, who cares? If they're good, if they'relicious, who cares. You gotta be with me on this when it comes to going out to eat. If there's a specialty of the house and it's not it's not prepackaged, if they matter. If the menu says our world famous eggplant, first of all, they're probably lying. They probably have extra eggplant laying around. They want to move it. But if then no, if you go to a place that's known for their clams, oh, out of the clams, all right, I'm gonna say. But if you go to a place and the menu says clams, I'm not gonna go these special class they want to set on the menu a special clams. Okay, I'm gonna god, all right, I'm gonna say this house, I'm not going to call the name of the restaurant out. What was the bacon the way? What was the bacon? Was bacon? Right? Just bacon? Just bacon? And what do the men you say it was good? What what the men you call it? Bacon? That's my point, sizzling bacon. If it was housemade, homemade off family tradition recipe handed down from from Guadaloupe who came off the boat and the l and he's been making bacon from killing his own pig as a child. His pet was missing one day and he walked to breakfast and his mother said, enjoy your bacon, and he said, is it? Housemaid said, you bet you. I killed your house pet and that's your fucking bacon. I understand that. Okay, my parents, I mean the perfect example. My parents, they love this restaurant in Brooklyn. It's Italian restaurant, surprised from the old school, right, And and I'm not gonna call him out. Okay. We went there for a holiday recently and we're sitting there and we're eating, and I'm like, you know what, I never have pasta, but because this is a special Italian restaurant, you want, you know, uh, I'm gonna have the RIGATONI. As I'm eating my RIGATONI, I looked. I looked on the corner of my eye and I see the door where from the hallway open into the kitchen, and I see in the kitchen just racks and racks of fucking barilla pasta boxed pop. Okay, hold on a story, shut, no, no, no, I just want to say, you just told me to shut up. Yeah, you said it, shut up. You told me to shut up earlier in this podcast. I'll tell you to shut up again. No, I want to say one thing. If you're a Italian restaurant and you take it to the next level. You're making fresh pasta, then I'm gonna eat your pasta. It's fresh. But that's that's the housemaid thing again, see fresh pasta. I go to this old school, old world Italian restaurant and now I'm seeing barrilla bucks pasta. I got your top, Holy ship, I got your all. My dreams are dashed and shot. No, I got a top for you. I got it topped. I got it topped. This will top of your story, even it's related to your story. But again, my wife and kids and I took a tour of the Mediterranean a few years ago. We took a cruise, Norwegian cruise on the Epic. We went around, uh all the countries. We was three or four stops in Italy, France and Barcelona. Barcelona, Spain's Spain, and we went to France. It was great. So we go to dinner in Rome, a Roma, not far from the Trevy Fountain. We walked down this little cobblestone street, and we go into this little Italian restaurant. I swear to you red red, and a bottle of red and a bottle of white. Yes, it all depends upon your appetite. And we walk in and the and the table cloths are red and white and all the way to look like a non perverted Mario Batali and all very Italian looking. And we go in the water again. You could smell the fresh grated cheese, and the pete is making pizza out of the fresh on. The sausages crumbled, It's not like sleeve from Okay, was Mario Parilla there serving you? Yeah, Pearl tours. And so my wife gets this, I don't know. It was some kind of havitlly or what. I don't even know what, some kind of delicious pasta dish with vegetable stuff I would never eat. I get a sausage pizza. So the Italian waters they barely speak into English, and it goes to go schools and what do would you like? A little cappuccino and a zette? Right, they served the espresso with a little bit of lemon for the for the rim of that, I mean it's really a time. So the waiter we had a point of things on the menu. Because the waiter didn't understand everything on that we were genuine Italian. He says, Napoli rights the old country. So my wife says to him, say to me, this is the best pasta I've ever had. This is this is they must make it here, homemade pasta. The sauces to die for. But this pasta is so soft yet firm. It's so tasty. It's al dente. I don't know his name anyway, So she says to the waiter, where what ingredients? What's what is it about this Macaronians pasta is so fantastic? And he goes at schools because it was. I don't know what he's saying, right, he's oh, in the mantel, I spect and he goes and he gets another guy to come over if I'm the kitchen, one of the cooks, And she says, excuse me, this is the best pasta I ever had. He goes, oh, oh, no, matspet He goes in the back, he comes out, he goes, here, it's a perilla. We're in the middle of Rome, in this little hole in the wall. Rest here on by the Trevi Fountaineez, you get Marilla. It's the atmosphere. It's the fact that you're just sitting there. You're going, I'm in Italy. That's selling you. It's a scam. It's a scam. And now I realized because we were so close to the Trevy Fountain. We were in like the Times Square, the little Italy touristy section where like the suckers go to eat. I would. But that being said, I gotta be honest, it was great freaking pasta Burrilla. Not a sponsor, you know, I would get us. Both of us would go so far as to say, you have to buy Burrella pasta from now that if your city has a little Italy, and I know there's a couple of cities that have that. Nine out of ten of those Italian restaurants not the best. None of the nine out of ten are using boxed pasta. They have to be well the volume alone you get pasta. No. And and that leads me back to the beginning of this conversation with housemaid. When you can get house made anything, go for the house made because it's fresher ingredients, all right, but you know it's past the almost always on the menu it says fresh pasta. If it doesn't say it, it's probably not Well. Since we're talking about tians, I want to talk about the Lamborghini. You were with me in Seattle, right, you remember talking about We're walking up Pike Place Street, Pike Place Avenue whatever, Pipe Place where the Pipe Place market is and Pike Seattle is like Portland if you ever watched portlanda it's a lot of people that want to buck the trends of big corporations, even though it's playing big corporation. In the Seattle they recycle everything. There was no print to paper anywhere in the radio station. We were at seven seven radio stations. None of them printed anything. They all want to keep it green. Okay. They got bikes all over all over the city. You can jump on a bike and go anywhere you want. Leave the bike, just leave it, Just leave the bike. You're scanning the QR code. You get on the bike, it charges your dollar. Whatever you get off the bike, you walk away. So they're not big into gas guzzling cars whatever I get it. Seattle. So which we're walking up this cobble store on street and this CAUs going by very slowly because there's people crossing the street. And as Lamborghini goes by, I look at it, scary looks at it, and it's going very similar to the sound that we made eating the popcorn. Right, So I look at the car and I'm like, call, he's like, and these three kids from clearly from Seattle. One of them yells out, nice car. Enjoy your payments, you showed him, and what do we both do at the same time, and we looked at each other like, you know, but what we said, listen, if you're driving a Lamborghini, that's the best insult you can come up with. Enjoy your payments. You think a guy driving a Lamborghini cares about his payments, Like you're trying to put him down, like you have a not two thousand dollar a month payment? Ha ha. That motherfucker probably paid cash. Right. You don't have payments, you don't leave no payments, you don't pay off. Hey, what's the interest right in the Lambeau bullshit you buy to let you walk in with a briefcase. I mean that kid was like, ha ha, I busted that guy. First of all, he couldn't hear you over the he was putting the car neutral and reven the engine just because he could. That's what this guy thought. Like. I showed this guy up in the Lambeau because now that guy's going, oh will my payments are really hard? I should probably stop revving my engine. Alright. He was peacocking the guy. He was peacocking. But this kid was peacock and he was like, ha ha. He was waddling down the street. Look at me with my two friends. We showed them that's the best you got. You know. Every time he sees a nice car, he's like, enjoy your enjoy your trips to the gas station. Ha ha. Right as the guy puts it on a hundred thousand dollars in his bank account that day in my bank account, enjoy your bank hands got one two, three, four, five six seven MS in my bank account. Stop it savage, as are listening to that too, all right? I got a lot of rants for next week. Well, no, it's this week. Well for next episode. Giving your heads up, I'm gonna talk to you about the flight. Are we done here? I think we should wrap it up. Gonna fish our popcorn, so we we owe you. I'm gonna give you. I'm gonna even the airline rant, not the airline baggage rant. The two idiots I sat next to on the flight home and also um oh and they they also I have another rant for the long term parking. The problem with long term parking at the airport. Left my car one condition, got it back in a different condition. We'll talk about that. We gotta talk about the couple how to fight at work in Seattle, talk about holes in the walls. Oh, I don't know about holes in the wall. I don't know about this one. It's very simple, it's very it's just a little pet peeve, all right, So we'll talk about that episode forty one. So uh, I have a couple of f us. Think about next week. Um, this week, I have long news jokes. Why don't we do that? You got an email? We'll gonna do some emails, well, toad jokes first and then um and then we'll give you grammar police also in the next episode, because we can't cram it all in. All right, these are punch lines written for the eldest Rand Show that we're unused, so we put them in a separate pile and we do them on this podcast. But yeah, do you have any Uh no, okay. So a woman called up. Now we didn't get to this joke, but she goes, I love my children, who doesn't? And my line was, well, I don't. I don't love your children. I get that kind No, no, I I no, I don't. That was we were talking about our friend Gandhi from Boston. She was on our podcast, uh five episodes ago, four episodes ago, and she was talking about how she's a bad Indian. He's from our friend Gandhi, that's her name, and her families from India. In fact, our great grandfather is actually the famous mc gandhi. And so she said, you know, I'm not I drink and uh, I have tattoos and I eat and I don't wear. Sorry. And my joke, which we didn't get to us no, sorry, sorry, that's as funny. Yeah, we didn't get as funny as and I don't know why we didn't. That was I laughed out loud on that one. We were talking about different ways to eat string cheese today. Scotty b uh he likes to bite the string cheese. Uh and uh everyone else in the room and Danielle and says, you have to peel the string cheese and uh and so. Then Scotty said, well, certain types of string cheese, like fat free spring cheese doesn't string upart. So I said, Elvis, what if you had head cheese, what do you do? You just swallowed hole? He wouldn't do the joke. That's a great joke. We were talking to somebody, I don't remember the exact context. We were talking about pen and beer bottles. You remember this. The guy was saying, he's a trucker and he peas and beer coming on the road all day. And my joke was you put the P and p br. We didn't get to that. Elvis wanted to try to remember the name of Don Hoe's daughter. Now. Don Hoe was the famous fifties and sixties and seventies singer. He was always on talk shows from Hawaii and he played ukulele and he would sing a song called Tiny Bubble in the Wine right it was wine that anyway, he had like one big hit. Everybody knew Don Hoe. Well, his daughter, we couldn't remember her name. So I came up with a couple of names. That his door because his daughter had one hit song in the early two thousand's, And I said, oh, his daughter's name was uh don Ho's daughter was uh tally ho? Or I said, or that hole? Wh did you get to either of those? What's her real name? Hoku hoko? Right? Um oh? And then this was my favorite joke of the week, even though it's only Monday, and that was we were talking about uh people going to the drag brunch in Florida. It's a brunch served by drag queens. And I said, the only problem with that is they serve sausage, but they talk it in under a pancake. He did that joke, he did. I said, it's my favorite joke that we've done so far, So that that was. That was also my favorite as well. By the way, I gotta tell you, I saw that joke coming. I was afraid he wasn't going to do the joke. Yeah, but he did it. He did it. Sorry not sorry? Is my favorite joke. That sounds like it's time welcome. You've got mail. This is from Donna Butler emailing us at the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com.
