Speaker 1: Brodie, I love a good hot dog. Yeah, I know, and I do too. Don't like like you're the only one in the room. It likes a good hot dogs. The other night, I went to my toaster oven, it was after midnight, went into the refrigerator, pulled out the Feltman's of Coney Island hot Dogs and I put one in my toaster oven on Convict and I just saw it go and it started ripping, and I saw the juice coming out. I'm like, oh, no nitrates, no nitrites, and the Feltman's of Coney Island hot Dog. Follow along at Feltman's of Coney Island dot com to see what we're talking about. I totally get the convection of the thing, but having a deck and a grill, which you don't have while the weather is still nice, going out and throwing the Feltman's hot dog on the grill and getting those burn marks, that's the way to go. It says summertime, even in October. To me, Charles Feltman invented the hot dog in eighteen sixty seven, right there in Coney Island. You know the story. By now, Nathan worked for him and then he left. Yeah, well I'm gonna add to the story. So I was talking to my mom, you know, Mama Brody. She's been on the podcast a bunch of times, not enough in her mind. So she heard the Feltman's commercial we did last episode and said, you know, when I was a kid, my father would say, we're all going to Feltman's. True story, they had a they had a merry go around there. It was a whole big building on the corner of Surf Avenue, and she would go to Feltman's as a kid. So she's all excited now that she ordered Feltman's hot dogs for herself because that's her childhood. She's thrilled at their back. Well, we want to thank Michael Quinn and Joe Quinn, their brothers. We want to thank them for that because they did the revival of this. Of course, if you're ever in Brooklyn, you could go to that one right there, or there's another brick and mortar on the place, yeah, in the East Village. But for everyone else and a lot of people I know because people have been tweeting us about it, you can actually go to jet dot com. You got uma Amazon, Amazon dot com can help me with the websites. Before we get to that, Jet dot Com, Amazon dot Com, Fairway Market, Morton Williams. But listen, you can always go to Feltman's Carnan dot com for your information. I want to give us a still shout out to Joe Waldo four on Twitter because he was persistent in his warning of Feltman's hount Dogs and he kept tweeting that Jet dot com was out of Feltman's hot Dogs. They've been stocked ever since you see this. Yes, So at Feltman's Coney on Twitter are boys. They tweeted him and said, you must be going to the wrong link. Here's the link for the six pack. They got him in stock, and so Joe Waldo now was able to order his, but he was going to like an old link or something. So Jet's got him if you want him. Taste a difference. At Feltman's of Coney Island dot com, start dot up, start up, Brooklyn Boy, start up, Brooklyn Buys dot dot up. They're making Noise Data up episode the Brooklyn Boys. That means it's six episodes since number fifty right, which still has slightly less lessens than the ones around it. So I went I retitle day hoping that the title will help. Now here's The interesting thing when you look on my Heart radio and you open up the app and you look at the episodes, you only get the first couple of words. So we're making long titles, and on the I Heart app it only says one phone taps. Now, there was a lot more to the episode, and I think, if you're like, oh, unbeat phone taps, I want to hear the boys rant. The unbeat phone taps is still part of the show, like, it's part of what we do. So I have to relabel that so it comes up with a more catchy title in that short little window. I'm still full from Saturday and this is not a sponsor anymore. It's over New York Pizza Festival. First, an thank you for we said so many people that listen to the podcast that came out on Saturday. There was just so unbelievable families with their kids and were three kids I would say, from one and a half to two years old up to about four years old that sang the startup, startup song, that knew our names, That new free dessert, my favorite one came up to us. I believe she was Russian. I apologize if she's uh could have been Ukrainian. I apologize to be funny. She came up with her son, who looked like he was maybe uh fifteen sixteen, and she says the Booklyn Boys, I'd love you guys favorite podcast. So I said, oh, thank you very much. I taught to my son everything. He listened to the podcast. I taught him Free Dessert and it's fantastic. And he had that look like, mom, you're embarrassing me. But somebody I said, do you listen? He goes, yeah, he listens. Free Dessert is sweeping the nation. Your buddy Eric Nagle was talking about my friend Eric who has um filled in on the Walkers and Talkers podcast and he's the one that did the really long interview of me on his podcast. Uh it's called It's Eric Nagle, Eric with a K and a G E L and uh he did, uh like a two hour interview of me. If you go on that I Heart channel, it's Eric Nagle and scrolled towards the beginning, you'll see Radio Inquisition Part one and two. That's me. Now, um, I'll have have another Eric na a comic con store I want to get to. But he sent me this clip from his podcast a couple of weeks ago, one of his co hosts was having a problem, and this is what it sounded like. Do you have to notify them when you're there. No, they have something in the store that recognizes your phone and as soon as you walk in, they start making your sandwich. Okay. This is similar to our pals over the Brooklyn Boys podcast, David Brody Love's Tacoot Love. He placed an order ahead of time, but there's a thing there that says, let us know when you're when you're here, and they'll they'll make your order. And he wants the order to be done when he's at the drive through placed the order. Oh okay, we'll start making it now. No, that depetes the whole purpose exactly. That was what his rant was. So it's similar like that, other than you letting them know that you're here, it detects it while you walk into or on the premises of the wah wah and it's like, oh, he's here, let's start making it now. That's so it was this whole big bit to do, and you know, the Wawa was packed, there was a line off the door, and what should have been a quick ten minute run ended up being like almost an hour for me to get my order that I ordered in advance. In love, I really do, but that was infuriating. That's the stupidest thing I've ever So did you go and complain? Of course I complained. I always complain. Did they give you anything for free? I would not have paid. I would not have paid. I would have said, this is ridiculous. I'm not paying for this. Look, I mean, what can you do for me? Bar Is? It says it right on the app, and I didn't bother to read it because I made the assumption that, like every other order in advanced app, you're actually ordering it in advance. I understand, but they did not do right by you. And now it was this. If I learned anything from Dave Brody, his theory is free dessert. It's like even it's not even free dessert. I mean they got that. You gotta put that on a T shirt. I'm telling you, It's spread like wildfire. So free dessert. So so thanks for everybody coming out to the New York Pizza fil One more thing about Eric and I want to talk about Pizza fesseal one more A little bit about Eric Nagle. We went to Comic Con together with my co host Jamie from Walkers and Talk, you had a real nerdy weekend, had a nerdy weekend and m he had a scheduled interview because they had big press room. He scheduled his It's arc Nagel podcast. The interview. Uh, the cast of Impractical Jokers are friends, and so he invited me to sit on an interview. So we interviewed Murr and Q and UM and Sal. Joe wasn't there. But the interesting thing about Q is that Qu's real name is Brian Quinn, and that is and that is the same last name as the guys who Feltman's and so in a in an original version, Michael Quinn and Joe quick right. But in an original version a couple of weeks ago, while doing that live read, you said, our friend the one of the owners, Brian Quinn, And I said, no, no, no, that's the guy from our friend from Impractical Jokers. So I I got to co interview in an Impractical Jokers got their new show. And I said to me in the interview, you are so ingrained in our minds with such a big fans of your is my co host Scary actually said Brian Quinn instead of Michael Quinn in our podcast. So if you want to hear that again, it's on the It's Eric Nagle channel. The name of the episode is New York Comic Con uh Part one right, and you'll hear me interviewing with that's awesome practical jokers. So what was your favorite part of New York Pizza Festival. It was going on in the Bronx. The Crescent Avenue, which is a curved street like a crescent, so brilliant. First of all, I thought Author Avenue was tremendous. You and I are Brooklyn boys and we've never been up to an Author Avenue is like, I don't want to offend the Bronx, but it's like the Brooklyn of the Bronx. It's like they called a little literally in the Bronx. Yeah, it's all Italian places, pastry shops, restaurants. If you haven't and you're in town, go up to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. Some people say that that is the real little Italy, but that might piss off the people in Here's what. First of all, shout out to the police officers and the security guards who when I pulled up to ask directions. We're like, oh my god, you're brody, Come on in, move the barricades, let me park. They're like, where's scary. I go, oh, he's driving looking for a parking space. So I called they let you win, big fans of the show, and then again not to tute our own horns. So many people were like, we heard about this pizza festival on the podcast. We drove in from Connecticut, we drove in from Philly, drove in from western New Jersey. This is going to become a tradition because, um, first of all, they had four different pizza reas represented from from Naples, Naples or nap I gotta tell you that didn't impress me. Not I have to say impress me much. It's just it's just maybe because it's not what I'm used to take. The crust was okay, but the cheese was running. It didn't have the substance of an American Italian pizza. I mean to get like bowled over, like wow, this is pizza. Um, of course the farres on avingu J in Brooklyn. We got there early, We got yeah. The line turned out to be like ninety minutes long. We got there. The event was about twelve to six. We got there at twelve. We ran right to the Farres because we knew better, Right, we gotta get to Cizilian and so anue J in Brooklyn. If you're not in Brooklyn, you know it's worth the trip. If you're in the area, we're sitting there and then and then by by two or three o'clock you couldn't even get near to the Fari's booth. But uh, what my other takeaway was that there are pizzas and pizzeria's and pizza makers that make amazing pizza that are not located in Brooklyn. Uh, you know the New York area. I think because they were from Denver and I'll tell you it was Cole. I think it was Marks Cole Fire took a picture of it. Hold on that place was fantastic. Uh. They were all feat They were featuring truffle pizzas, clam pizzas, the zero Atto novo from the Bronx. They had this um, this short rib pizza which had this honey finish to it. It was so good. That was fantastic. Um. There was a St. Louis. We had our friends at Speedy Romeo there they have today was good. Oh speedy Romeo. They have a thing called pro vel cheese that you could only find Danielle Manero walked in. Now they yelled, you're you becoming a group. I get very excited when I see you both in here recording and I know that I'm getting a new podcast because I'm I think you should do it twice a week. I'm okay because it's so entertaining, and when it's done, I'm like, that's it's a problem. We're just talking about the pizza fest we went to. Did you ever hear of zero Oto novo in the Bronx? No? I never did. Anyway, you said it was deliciously Okay, So we're going to Denver because I have to have Marco's Cold Fired not a sponsor, uh Denver Colorado. The coccio e peppe bac mel which was the soft fresh mozzadella, uh caccia, uh cacciaccio, cavallo, pecorina, romano pet black pepper, extra virgin olive oil. That was That was one of the best pizzas I've ever had Denver. I'm going already told our friend JJ, who hosts the Party seven morning show, in Denver that he's got to get these guys up. Oh my gosh, that sounds amazing, all right, Bernie, But anyway, forever I think that's becoming a thing. I think our our army is the um and and so. One other point about pro Vel, So it was born in St. Louis and that area, and they brought they actually import one hundred and fifty pounds of pro Vail a week to the New York area to do the speedy Romeo pizza. Again, not a sponsor, but Love Louis style. If a month from now we start doing commercials, it's coincidence. We just happened to think it was fantastic because prol is like no cheese I've ever tasted in my life, and you can't get it in the Northeast. But people listening to this podcast right now in the Midwest like pro Vel. Kidding me, I go to my corner store and I get that. Anyway, keep your mind open to new tastes and new pizza from different places. Because it's not from New Yorkers doesn't mean you know what I'm I'm now I'm into Detroit pizza too, because our friends at Lions and Tigers and Squares. Oh my, uh. Guy Fran who opened up Artichoke Pizza that we freaking love in New York opened up Lines and Tigers and Squares, which is Detroit style Sicilian. Also I liked it good? All right, well cool, anyway, that was Pizza Fest. Thank you forget Thank you for everyone that came up to us and wanted pictures and took you know, Brody needed his own bodyguard. Yeah, Scary got to go on stage and shout out the crowd. You were up there with me. No, you know what it is when we go on stage. Um, if I have something to say, then I'm all about it. But the crowd was eating pizza, and Scary likes the DJ, and let's say, what's up by people? I have a format. How's everybody going to see one Scary Jones. That's David Brody. Oh we're having a good time. He does the club gig stuff on stage. I do, Well, you have to you have to entertain. You have to tell me okay, but then you like it. If I say oh, you say hey, I say you say that didn't go well, that that one didn't work. No, no, but it's true. I was born with the mic in my hand. I have to get up on the stage. If I see one, I don't care. I'll talk to you any crops. Okay. My favorite part was so the stage. It was a long street and the stage was at one end of the street, and the space between the stage and Defarre's was about fifty odds. It wasn't even close right it was. There was a guy playing the accordion who because and from Italy, so I referred to him as weird Alfonso Alfonse Weird Alfonse. That wasn't his name, but I posted a picture of my Instagram at David Brody um. And so Scary goes over to the side of the stage. He's like, uh. He goes up to two guys. He goes hey, I'm Scared Jones from Zee and won to get up on stage. Big announcement. They're like all right. Then he goes up to these two tall guys and he goes, hey, scared Jones go on stage, big announcement. How guys doing and they're smiling. And then the first two guys go these opera singers from Italy. They didn't speak a word of English, but Scary was telling them all about the pizza and he's gonna make an announcement, and they're like, you can't just just renting aid the stage. You have to actually, you know, tell people there was a DJ spinning, there was an accordion player. Was he like spinning in circles? Did he ever fall down from spinning? You make a DJ jokes? Is that what you're doing? What I'm doing right now? By the way, Speaking of weird Alphonse, weird Al, it's hilarious if you've seen him in the new video for Africa. You know Africa by Toto recently remade famous by Wheezer um and in fact Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer of Weezer and Africa is not in the video. Weird Al is dressed as Rivers Cuomo. You gotta do a YouTube search for this Africa by Weezer and you'll see weird Al dressed up as the lead singer of Weezers. Speaking of weird Al on Jeopardy last week, a couple of people texted me, including our buddy Cubby from KTU, Hey, there's a weird Al category on on the Jeopardy. Because I flipped over to the Jeopardy I got him, all right? It was all easy stuff, tested me, tested me. I don't remember the questions, but well, you know what betid one of my favorite albums. Yeah yeah, one more thing about the pizza festival. It's not really about pizza festival. You fuck me? How okay? This is? This is the segment of the show where I point out one of the times scary fun So we do a segment on the el A Strand Morning Show. And by the way, I say that because I'm gonna read you a tweet later from someone who found our Elva Stright Morning Show because of the podcast. How about that? How about that shut I'm gonna tell you about that later. So we go. We do a segment called around the Room, where everybody talks about a little something about themselves. And uh so, Elvis, Elvis, you know, damn well what you did? I should have had the sound. I didn't pull the sound. We didn't pull the sounds. You know, you don't have to pull this ound because I didn't talk about what you wanted to talk. So around the Room is for the hosts and the the co hosts and the sub hosts, the main five or six people on the show, of which, although I appreciate people who say I should be. I am not one of the main people on the spoken part of the show. So when we do around the room, it's usually Elvis and the two female co host Danielle and Gandhi and Froggy or Ski Area. They kind of alternate sometimes. And so Elvis said to everybody, what was the best thing you ate this weekend? So I write Scary a note all right, pizza, so that he'll say, oh, we went to the pizza festival and ate all this pizza, Brody and Scary, Scary and Brody, the two of us went for pizza thanks to the Brooklyn Boys podcast, so it would plug the podcast, and Elvis might say, how is the pizza, Brody? Include me in it? Right, Okay. But we go around the room and Elvis says, Scary, well, now, Scary nodded at me when I held up the pizza sign. So Scary, Scary, what was the best thing you had this weekend? And you said Chateaubriand right, well, because to me, the best thing that I put in my mouth that weekend was Chateaubrian. I'm gonna tell your girlfriend you said that, all right, yeah, yeah, yeah, So you know, we do a show though. It's about the show, right, but it's also about being honest and transparent. You think Chateau the thing. Then we got off the air. Brodie Elvis was like, Brody, what was going on here? And you were like, do we went to pizza Fest and the best thing he ate was pizza? And then no, no, you missed the pot. After you said that, I looked at you privately off to the side, and I said, what the funk? I wrote, you know what the fund note? And you said, I set you up so that you can say you had pizza, except I don't do around the room. No, but Brodie, here's the thing. Everyone in the room agreed with me and said, dude, if he said chateaubriand yeah, next Weekndabrian is better than pizza Chateaubrian. Are the fans of this show? Do we call the fans of our show steaks? No? You all me a steak? Now? I want to Chateaubriant Chateaubrian. For those who don't know, it is sounds like a bottle of wine. By the way, it's you know how people have it's flaming yon. It's the center cut of the flaming yone. So pictures just that that nice center of the fill. It's the center of the center. It's the best piece of meat you could put in your mouth. Here we had thirty by the way, that was last week when you were in the sauna. There's your joke. Okay, So uh with with your personal shirtless trainer, you had an opportunity to say pizza with an alteriot motive of promoting both of us and our podcast, and you chose, and you chose to full fullfall it up with Chateau. But that was the best thing if you couldn't wait until next week when Alvis says, so, how was your weekend? I had Chateaubrian this weekend. No, but then it would have been last weekend. I don't know the chateaubriand was just dancing in my head when he asked me, I'm sorry your head. I held up a sign that said pizza, and you went, huh, You're nodded at me like I got this, hold my beer, pizza right, hold my beer. You didn't say hold my beer. He said hold my cabernet. I'm gonna say shut yeah, yeah, because that's gonna sound cooler. To the audience. No, it's nothing cooler than thirty pizzas from around the world. You blew it. You blew it. Tweet us pizza or steak? What should he have said? By the way, most people can't spell Chateaubrian and that's not an insult. That's a hard two words to spell it c h A t e au, briand b r I A n D. Yeah, I was a caterer. I know I had that right. What were you trying to test me? No? I was No. I was gonna voice, text it and get the exact definition of it. But you did a good job, did Spike speaking of doing it exactly? Which is what you just did? Can I early grammar police something? Sure? There is a YouTuber I follow. I'm not going to mention his name, um that I like very much. And he has now gotten caught up in the kind of sort of where like I told you, I complained about the news. Now every freaking sentence is kind of sort of uh. He he kind of had a lot of supporters there. No, he had a lot of supporters there anyway. So he said something that was redundant that I had never heard before. He said, oh, they did that exactly verbatim. Oh, yeah, about that, Yeah, about that, about that, about that, about that. So I am quoting him exactly verbatim. That's what he said, Um, you are we doing this this weekend? Are you coming up to Gurney's with me? Yeah? Weekend at Gurney's, which, by the way, I'm only going because I like saying we're gonta ge, like we're gonna Berni's. No, it's you guys went last year and last time whatever, six months ago, a year wherever I was a year ago. Yeah, and I had to look at all the pictures of you high faluting it with you Chateaubrian's and your champagne glasses at this gorgeous hotel. Not a podcast sponsor, by the way, it's just we're going there this weekend. Yeah, so we're going to Gandhi's coming with us. It's gonna be our first hand Kathleen and your Ritza from the show Scotty B. Jenny's going, Jake. Yeah, it'll be a lot of fun. It'll be a group group get together. They have they have two locations and they're like they it's gonna be in Montalk or Rhode Island. So we're going to the Newport Rhode Island. I've never been to Montauka Long Island. Oh you haven't, and I was hoping that we guy, so I'll hopefully get to go with something. I think they'll they'll do that. Yeah, it's it's definitely. But but the best part about I love Newport Rhode Island with that, and it's it's an all year round resort. So uh they had Seaood Food Festival every week this year. You know, it'll be great. We're gonna go to the seafood festival. And in a Monday when Elvis is what's the best thing you had in your mouth, you can say chateaubriand you can say something that I love a good seafood festival. I can't wait for that. And then all is coming with us. Hold on keep talking. Oh yeah, so then and then we're gonna see the mansions. Apparently Newport Roode Island has a lot of beautiful mansions there. Oh and this was also the home of the goats. This was the this was the place that had the goats last year. Brody and remember the goat that rammed my calf. Remember the angry goat that we started like headbutting my cat. You have no luck with animals. You fell on a dolphin. The goat kick. You should not be with the gurneys. Newport, Rhode Island had the goats, and we're gonna go revisit them. And I'm gonna get in the pen with the goats, am And at this time the goat is gonna be friendly to me. And did you do the Montak goats? And you did the Newport Port goats? You know they're gonna see you and go there's that asshole again. No, not yes, they all think they have a memory. Yeah. Now speaking of we're going, we're speaking of gurnees. Who else is going? We said, your Ritz is going? How your Ritza turn her mike on here? Yeah, there we go. Your Ritz is here, by the way, your Ritza, who has the curliest hair and the world and the most incredible curly hair of the queen bees in the trap on the on the mike the r she straightened her hair, and I was worried because I was about I was a few minutes late this morning, and I heard her say it on the radio, so I couldn't see her, and I went, oh, my God, she's straightened her hair. I love her curly hair. Then she does like a pineapple thing. It's pineapple day every week. Love your hair straight, Your hair looks fantastic. Thank you, thank you. No, no, you make your you make that hair look great. It's still it's still her hair. She grew the hair. Yeah, I myself. Um so I just think that it's crazy that it's this straight right now, I kind of want to watch it. So your rit's a little bit of a party girl. We're looking forward to that. Uh there is alcoholic Erney's right, Okay, Now we're the restaurant. It look great in the pictures, fancy food. Um, that was one time where when scary social media is everything he does. I was excited because that the whole thing that you did last year at Gurney's look great. And so we were all told we could bring a plus one, which for me would have been my wife she's not available, and your girlfriend not available and your ritza who are you still dating? Uh Kevin right? Uh? Not her plus one Ricky's she's taken Ricky our our friend from the twenties. Something is doing nothing podcast, who's also a little bit of a party girl. The two of them are going. I feel I'm a little concerned we may get thrown out. So what's going on here? Then? You guys sharing a room? Ye? Yeah? Are you guys sharing? So excited? It gets sharing a shower, a bed? What do you want? We probably are sharing everything else. We share everything. Rance is going to try and call me the whole time. I'm not gonna want to. You're a little spoon, right she like five one? Um? I would be because she's the I'm not a I love cuddling, so I love So what's the m O for the weekend? What do you mean, Well, Ricky, I don't know, you're gonna get into some trouble. I think that's every weekend's m O. Ye. We don't look for trouble, it finds us Ricky. Yeah, technically kind of what happens if you meet a guy. You meet a guy in Newport this weekend. No, that's happening. You know, he doesn't come back to the room and then make it look awkward. No, nothing's happening because I'm saving her for from being something wrong. You know what that means. She's the mother hen the guy I'm talking to last weekend and she loves Okay, I have to. We had this conversation about the talking thing. You guys told me it wasn't legit unless I was in the office. Now Ricky is okay. Ricky used a lot of terms that she'll say any because this is your your generation will use any words, but actually the words. And so they're talking. They're having conversations, right, having conversations right, but then also might mean sex and they do not talking. I can't keep trying. So there was a guy that she slept over or slept in the same room with like three times, but nothing happened because Ricky has a theory about drinking, and that theory you can't have sex with someone that you want to eventually date while you're drunk for the first time. Right, So Ricky says, I don't ever have first time sex when I'm drunk, which don't which you must be a virgin because she's rarely sold. That's a good joke. This guy, this guy is the real deal. Then yeah, okay, you're not single. You are, but you're not. This is the reason I said that. I said the last had the last conversation we had was about being exclusive and how there's only there's levels to exclusivity, and you you're not exclusive unless you talk about it. We didn't really talk about it, have the talk. I still haven't talked about that technically single because I knew that it was going to go back to this again. You never you haven't talked about it. Yeah, what exclusivity? I can't say that, not really, but like kind of but not us because Ricky, it's a very big deal to say you're exclusive. So I said, I said, you're you're kind of hanging out with this guy right there there, they're in the same room, they're going to restaurants together, they're hanging out. And I said, if you don't want him to see other people, and you don't want to see other people, kind of say it, Like, but why can't you just say I don't think we want to have to be a big deal. There's just so much attached word. It does mean you're getting married at me, you know what, I want to have dinner with you tonight, maybe you want to make out, fool around whatever, And the thought of you swapping d n A with somebody else tomorrow, well last night before I get you tonight. I'm not thrilled with that. It seems like you should be able to say that, Yeah, you should just say it. Guys, I'm not good at relationships. I think I never had okay, which goes back to what I originally asked, because yes, I thought this guy wasn't as important as he is. It's important to you. But what I'm saying, are you dating her boyfriends? If you're not exclusive, If you're not exclusive, and you're up in Newport, Ricky is mentally exclusive because she wants to be exclusive and hoping. She just doesn't want to talk. She's in the stage where she's hoping he's exclusive but doesn't want to say it to him. Because we're there will be a guy that's going to come up to me at a bar, and I would imagine there's one in this room. And how you shutting down? How do you shut a guy down? I want to hear this. Hold on, hold on, let's let's do this little theory, little theater. Scary. Hi. You see Ricky approacher in the bar without telling her where you work? Without telling her where you work? Do you have to I'm kind of hard. Do you have a drinking Are you empty handed? When you're right now I like you. I like your glasses. Those are cool. What did you get them, Guarry Parker? Thank you for the compliment. Yeah, that's awesome. So what are you drinking? Chin and tonics? Just what are you drinking? Well? Do you specific kind of jiner? You just go up to the bar and you know if you just say picking her up? Yeah, you critiquing her chin as part of the stay on the top pick. This is the small. This is the small. So you're you're giving her gin tips as part of the picture. I'm so sorry. No, I thought you were giving her scary jones. This is the endearment moment. I don't want I don't want to come across with some creepy, awkward Hey hey, nice glasses. You're like beef eater. I got one for you. You know something? Would you like deet my beef? Not me? That's him saying that it's not because I wouldn't say that. No, Ricky, listen to me. If I came up to you and I'm just some rando. You have to approach you don't keep going he keep going back right in for crazy compliment. You you compliment something that's a little bit off center, which throws you off center, like her glasses are off center, feeling a little noses crooking's all day, nice body on you accounts all right, so let's start that all day. Pick it up, get up whatever. She never hears that rack. I'm just trying to you, try and play a little. You play it off like because all of a sudden, while you grow your hair long right to cover that up, I came up down long. I said, you leave with something, you lead with something to get back to the non threatening conversation about he won't lead with the old you lead not think you should lead with her hair because she loves her hair, and most girls love common. That's basic every guy's girl. Girls, your hair like Ricky is not common. Basis actually A complimented on my glasses all the time because you guys have this weird fantasy thing about teachers in librarian. I not on the football jersey. Baseball had football jersey. Okay, see that's the thing too, So I get complimented my glasses all the time. Right. But what I'm saying is if I'm leading with something different, like let's say, okay, I talk about your your glass, can we get back to you. I want to pick it up, all right, So okay, so then the gym go back to the gym. So, well, how you gotten? Don't talk about hashtag slow finges, that's all. That's a different episode. The one thing you want is the guy to show you that he's obsessed with alcohol. But go ahead, yeah, I mean, look at the girl with alcohol and it's me. You know, you really shouldn't just say Gin and Tonic because they're gonna give you the crap that's below the bar, and that's the stuff that's like the cheap stuff. If you have to be specific about your brand, So what kind of genia? Like? Can I threw up for second second? I just want to say, as a non drinker, I would say to you, oh, you know, when you go to a deli counter, don't just say roast beef asked for boar's head. Yeah, yeah, you have to. Of course you have to. So then some what are you gonna say to me now that I said that? And I buy my own drinks and I'm also poor because I'm twenty six and pay for well, you pay for well drinks. Okay, well not this time around. I got your next round name of brand. Oh see that was good, scary, I'm impressed. I do like brand. You want some Hendray? Would Hendrix? Okay, have a question, I have a question for the question. So it was it was a clever use of words that they put together. But if he said, well, you don't have to worry about that now, little lady, which because because old daddy has a job, it's gonna take care of you and buy you an expensive gin and not expect anything for it. I'm just a nice guy. Literally, would have just looked at him, laugh and I'll be your sugar, daddy, your sugar. I would, actually I would. I would. I would tell her that I'm like, hey, so I'll buy you a round and I get the next round, so don't worry about like being twenty six and poor, and and then what happens after wouldn't have been better if he said would you better if he said, you know what, You're right, it is expensive, but it makes a difference. My favorite is Hendricks. Let me if I can, let me get you a gin and tonic with Hendricks and see if you see the difference. That actually would been good, better, impressive, Thank you, ladies, But ladies are not availably charged. But this way, but this way I didn't do it impressively. Well, I've actually impressed with what you said back. He's not expecting that. It's just that he worded it next scary? Did it like the same idea? Scared? Did it like the more approach robb way Brodie used a lot of words, and so I would be like, oh, he's intelligent, But so I would have liked liked you too word it that way, because then you sound intelligent and more of like this way, you're sharing from your experience and you want her to enjoy it, and you're like, my feeling is And I could be wrong. It came off a little I have some I have money, and I'll buy it for you kind of thing, as opposed to I've got some knowledge. I would like to share that with you and see how much you would like it. If you if you agree with me why. I was never good at picking up I'm still not good at it, but I just thought that would be an appropriate way based on what you said. I thought immediately, how would I have rewarded that? But had I been at a bar, I never would have said that first. But the whole idea is to let your guard down because means, uh, you know, their guards come right up the second somebody approaches them, So you gotta break down that wall a little bit. That's money to keep going, that's my guest. So you buyre the drink, so here you go, um, and then after you taste it, I'll be like, did you drop a funny pill in there? Now? Stop it? Just be careful girl, Just bill Cosmopolitan. That's right. Okay, So you have you get the drink you like to drink. Then what happens? You have a difference than the typical wellsh yes, they taste so much better than my typical wellshit that now at that at that point, do you thank him for the drink and walk away? Hope for a second one? Where do you go with that? Where you from? Because you have a boyfriend? Oh? Because I haven't, don't tell me it's not technically a boyfriend, you know what I mean? A boyfriend? Then? Yeah? No, I would have been like, thank you so much for the drink, bye bye, but I gotta go really that soon, not even like ten minutes of talk. I'm small tom now Now could you also have said I appreciate the offer, but I'm meeting someone. Yeah, she's so much nice. Intrigues a little bit. No, that totally intrigues me. That's He's like, listen, honey, it's not really serious yet. And it's Hendrick family. Used to have a guy that I was talking to who enjoyed me getting drinks from other guys because then he didn't have to pay for them. What does that say about that guy? Because she was just talking to him. Yes, that was fla for me though, and I was kind of like, maybe this isn't a good We're just having conversations nothing else, so that's good. So you guys are gonna have a nice, fun, honest, clean weekend. Clean. That doesn't mean that it's going to be clean. I would suggest going to add Scary Jones on Well All weekend for the snapchat and instant stories of these two. Philip No, usually you knock something over before you fall asleep. I actually had a friend message me because she saw me on your snapchat story and she was like, Oh, I'm just going through snapchat stories and then here's Rick having a great time in Miami on Scared. I wonder if I ever got anybody in trouble because they were on my snapchat. Probably maybe this weekend. You will know we're all above board people, that we all work together, we're all friends. Why are you laughing at By the way, scary earlier today said he said, what happens a girl and he stays a girl? He's packing a bottle of Hendricks. You know, Well, Ricky, you know snort on our shop on our podcast. I will say, no, I think it's kind of cool that you're you're headed towards something with this guy, because because you just speaks very highly of him. Yeah, Steve his name. Now, well that's not his real name. Okay, how that serious is it? By the way, because this is like two weeks ago, you weren't like anything. Well I met like his whole family. Yeah, but he met me, So that's a big move. It is a big I never bring anybody around my friends. You know. It's kind of cool. They got great chemistry together. Why are you guys not on the same podcast. Here's the thing, these two guys they do a Riverdale recap every whatever, which I think is great. The answer my question, why are you two not on the same podcast? You guys have separate podcasts because I have a podcast with Jake gets very upset if you gets all the attention from me and he doesn't get any, so I can't have both of them. I have to split my time. Okay, he's her husband. I'm the side piece. You know. The side pieces much more fun fun, Yeah, way more, much more. Wow, aren't you with the work wife? Oh my god, that's too. He's a lucky guy. He hates when we say that, but he does. So that's why Jake's not bringing his girlfriend. He's got the wife and the side piece. It's got two side pieces right here. Do they're currently talking to Jake having conversations, but they're not exclusive with Jake. But you and I do do a Riverdale. We do it on Instagram on both of our instagrams. We do an Instagram live and then we keep it there. Call me Ursa and mine. Is that chick Ricky? Yeah, yep, that's it. It's gonna happen to check that out tonight. I think you guys need to put it somewhere where it gets to stay. We've thought about it. Yeah, so we might just keep it and then either have a YouTube channel. Yeah, because I think it's it's fun. You guys just sometimes old tipsy time. I'm trying to play that down. Here comes to pig coming in here. When you say tipsy, you mean yeah. So it should be a fun weekend. We'll recap it next episode on Brooklyn Boys fifty seven. I'm sure you will as well. That's a very excited Hines episode. Not a sponsor yet, but thank you very much for stopping by. And we will say nothing with nice things the minute you leave. Absolutely, how can wely? We just now we get in both the can listen. That's party all weekend and I'm gonna be knocked out by midnight, and you just I'm gonna be sober filming it all and enjoying it and making fun of everybody. And you know, I will say, I'm a little I'm a little slighted that she would just grab a drink and go that's pretty that. I don't know if that's from all men? Are just you for this bit? Like, I don't know you would really just believe if I have a boyfriend, then yes, but how far would you go? You're in a bar, you go like two guys later and the guy's like, hey, what are you drinking there? Oh? I worked the room? Wow? No, dnny, I'm broke and broke is a joke. They should name their podcast twenty somethings paying for Nothing. That's right, guy? And uh, all right, so it is gonna be a funny girl. Uh, it's gonna be fun at Karnis. Yeah, I'm getting the uh the the group text messages from other people on the show, and like nine people have to all right, back and forth, back and forth. Oh is that happening? And I just I can't stand group. There's gotta be a want out button. There's gotta be a buttons. Just I just leave me alone. What are they know? It's interesting, but it's like I can't about the other telling it doesn't matter for the Oh you know what, Um, I got a couple of things to complain about. We've got unused jokes, and we got some gifts. We talk about the gifts. Is it time to be self serving already? No? I want to thank people, so a couple of them by Yeah. I feel something new coming on. Yeah, we we were talking about this before the podcast. This is gonna be a new jingle. We're gonna fake it this time. We're gonna have a new jingle for next week. I cannot wait. I'll get to the here it comes, free Ship for Us. Free Ship for Us. It's a new segment on the podcast where you get to send the stuff that's and we we mentioned it, yeah, like for instance, we got uh, we got an email here. I worked for a nonprofit after school program at Omaha, Nebraska, the home of Omaha Steaks, by the way, coming back as a sponsor in a couple of weeks. We love them. And one of our partners on Onto College with John Baylor, that's the name of the program, gave us some of these awesome T shirts and stress hammers. When I saw their slogan hammer the Grammar, I immediately thought of the Grammar Police in my favorite podcast. I hope you enjoy keep ranting Jesse with an eye, Thank you Jesse with an Eye. She sent us these T shirts. They're light blue. Well, we'll have to put pictures up on the h and by the way, when you hit the podcast and the pictures on up. Yet we apologize, but we'll get them. But they say hammer the grammar. So I love that, you know why, because it's Ship for Us. You've got something on that. I had a couple of things. First of all, the other day on the Big show. I was talking about how I had this one nose hair that kept coming out of my nose and it was like the party whistles that roll out and roll back. Yeah, you call it the party. Well, shout out to Lori Chiazo, the senior marketing manager at Panasonic. She sends me a nose hair trimmer, and she sent me a personal note parody that said, hey, scary, sorry to hear about it about your nose hair. We all it happens to the best of us. So she sent me one of those devices you stick in your nose and you press the button your finger this nose, I'm gonna open it right here on the podcast on free ship for us. Yeah, hair comes pretty shut from us. Good night, Frank and uh finally and by the way, free ship for you guys. Will we will will continue to send out the official Brooklyn Boys Invisible T shirts. Ye, Danielle was very upset from our show. She said she hasn't gotten her invisible shirt yet. So I said, how do you know? Well, that was exactly so. One other thing and this came from both of us. This is this is from Mohammed. It was a pleasure meeting you. The other night. Oh that's right, I ran into one of our listeners. Um. I listened to the podcast all the time. I would appreciate your feedback and willingness to help us on our new product. Thank you for your support. Hope to see you soon in Bahrain. That's from Mohammed. So Mohammed lives in Bahrain, and he's got a company. He's got a brick and mortar. And what he's got are these watches. Uh and uh I just oh man, bad marketing dude. He didn't send the website from where do you have to do you have a note? Or is this saying something on the watching? Inside the box, there's a warranty card. Yeah, what's the website? Look it up, it's inside the card there. Okay, wow, he sent us these watches. Oh here it is. It's um no no new, no new, no watches no no official. I think it says, yeah, where do you see that? Uh? And you and and W and not w and you and no no and you and an official and you and and oh no no no no you're not no no no or no no no no no no no and you you and and official and you you and oh fish shall dot com let me see. I'm gonna go to that website see if it works. Uh Noon, Now, that could be that could be the warranty because the noon like high noon because it's a time piece. Yeah, this is them, or it could be like uh like none of the Hebrew letter. But I think if I'm correct, the numbers on the the watch are an Arabic. That's correct. So so it's a face watch, you know, the clot in the typical face ones, and they have Arabic. Some of them have regular numbers on it, some of them have Roman numerals, others have Arabic Arabic numbers on it. Yeah, I'm looking at their version of the arab but the nine looks like a nine. I'm assuming that's a letter that isn't nine, but they put it there. So the new the Noon Sahara has that, and then these other ones have uh there's the noon sequence. If you go to their website and you you n official dot com, you can absolutely take a look at the ones we're talking about. But they sent a watch for you and a watch for me. And one of my kids in college is studying Arabic. Password is played their song New New that's a song we used to play, What about noon Kids on the Block. I don't know anyway. That was free shipped for us. That's free ship for us. That's a new segment self serving. A couple of weeks ago, I got the Brodie's Steakhouse from Texas. I'm gonna say it was Benton, and someone's gonna say it was. It was not Benton. It was similar brodie Steakhouse. Don't tweet us, Please don't teet I know it's if it's right, Still, don't tweet me, and so I know, but it was great. So, um my nose, my nose is stuffed. I'm not going to use my nose hair trimmers on my nose when my nose is stuffed because I might pull a boogie out with it. So you don't do that. Um oh, let me see here, hold on, I got a couple of notes here. I'm sorry, go ahead. No. I was actually gonna gonna talk about our friends at robin Hood because we should. We should. You know what, the stock market is very volatile, right, very volatile. But now is the time to get involved, they say, when you know, when when there's a big fluctuation like that, get in on the low and uh, well for the last couple of days. Now is the time to enter if if you want robin Hood is uh there an app that we've been working with. He said, got my free stock thanks to the robin Hood at robin Hood app, which I never knew of until my boys blah blah blah on the Brooklyn Boys podcast. And he put a screenshot of the stock that he got. Uh, he's very excited about. Really, just a few taps and I got a free stock. Uh. And they don't charge commission fees um. They're other brokerages. So get your free stock at Brooklyn dot robin Hood dot com. Uh, and get started with our friends at robin Hood. We love them. So before we get into the next thing, which I think we're gonna unused jokes, right, I had mentioned earlier that some people find out about the Elvis Right Morning Show from our podcast because you always say, well, people know who the big big show is, so shout out to Sarah with an h Sarah X scream, which sounds kind of like an adult actress name, but it's not, she said. First time listening to the Elvis Durrand Show today, and they're dogging on David Brody, which day I was getting picked on a little bit because, uh, I was accused of always being right or thinking I'm always right. Just listen. If I'm right, what do you want me to do? Be wrong? No, So I said, I don't understand. What do you mean? She said, um I I found out about you eyes, She said, I love podcasts. All all of my presets in my car our country music stations. However, I love podcasts um any I can find. I listened to about eight hours a day of podcasts. I came across the Brooklyn Boys and just fell in love with it. And so from our podcast, she heard about the Elvis Durand show. Now listens and loves the Elvis Jon Dog. But okay, I'll take you. So she heard the Elvis d rand Show today for the first time and said she loved it. And so we have a new listener on the big show thanks to the little show that we do here. That's amazing. On these jokes, yeah all right, so you guys know, these are jokes I wrote for people on the show. We didn't get to them for whatever reason, so we're gonna read them here. We did a story about a woman on the Jersey Shore running in a marathon. A deer came out of the woods and ran her over, knocked her down. She got back up and she finished the marathon. So I said, well, you know what, somebody just gotta buck off and do what you gotta do. Well, dear joke there, let's see. Oh, um, we were talking about gravity blankets. They're a sponsored the Big Show. They're fantastic. It's like fifteen pounds of pound blankets you can wear and they hug you and they cuddle, snug snuggle with you. And Elvis said, I like having a big weight on me. And I said, yeah, you call he owns his named Alex, meaning his fiancee. I'll make another Elvis jokes in a minute. Uh. Greg t came in and he said, oh, oh, I went to the movies this weekend. Uh, in the worst way. So my joke was blindfolded. He had he ended up going to a movie that he didn't want to say. Insaid, of the movie you wanted to say, But he's like, I went, I went to the movies in the worst way possible. I go blindfolded. That was a joke, was a throwaway. Um that where there wasn't a joke. Here's two more jokes. Uh. Dr Oz was on the show this week and he said, you know, we have a problem. There's a shortage of bees. Nobody knows where the bees are. There's shortage of bees. No one knows what's having to the ease. So I wrote a joke for Elvis to say that there's there's bees in the trap. He's in the trap. I didn't get to it. This is my favorite unused joke of the week. We were talking about being single and dating, and Elvis said, when I was dating, I was dating everybody because I was dating like crazy. I said, I can honestly say when I was dating, I was single. I went off the deep end. And my joke was, when you were single and dating, you were in a few deep ends. Didn't use that. We didn't get to it, all right, all right, so I may I might not have mentioned on the podcast that my oldest child started driving about a year ago and she was leaving for college in September, and so she has her own car. We got an old car so in case it got a little scratched up, it wouldn't be a big deal. And she got into a minor little scratch up pulling into a parking spafender bender. Were like a scratcher, little scratcher, scratcher, all right? So I contacted the guy I and I'm like, listen, what's the deal, what's you know? Maybe we can settle list privately. And he because I got an estimate, it's eighteen hundred dollars. Like what you know? Because when you you know what happens when it's not your fault, You're like, oh, this was scratch and this was dented, and you you stop piling up all the repairs you need. I saw the pictures. It wasn't an eight hundred repair. But I I'm like, you know what, go through insurance. My wife and I have a perfect record. So it's a major insurance company. They run a lot of TV commercials, okay, and we're happy with them. And we have a decent rate in New Jersey, unlike when we lived in New York and the rates and through the roof. I said, you know, I put it through the insurance. Hopefully they'll do accident forgiveness whatever. Well, then with a two weeks before my daughter leaves for college, she rear ends into the car. Okay, Now, whenever you rearend someone, regardless of whether they stopped shot or not, you're at fault. And her car was badly damaged in the front. The guy's car, the bumper was a little danged and whatever. Okay, So the guy is driving a nice outie, Like, if I gotta pay for an OUTI repair, that's gonna be a lot of money. You know what. Put it through the insurance company. It's the right thing to do. Okay, I call up my insurance company. Mr. Brodie, don't worry about it. You and your wife have a great track record for for almost ten years. I'm sure it's not going to affect it. We don't know. We're not the underwriters. They do that, they go. We're the customer service people. We don't do the underwriting. We're not the claims people. But you know what, I'm sure you'll be fine. And you know, it happens. We understand. We understand that you know a young driver they have we we get it. We get it. Okay. So that's on a Sunday, right Saturday or Sunday. So my daughter is leaving for college in a week and my wife says, well, she's gotta have a car while she's home for the week. I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no. Her car is wrecked. Can't try it. Let her uber for the last week. No, no, no, no no. She'll drive my relatively about my new car, and she'll drive me to work. Well, could you, I said, he just had two accidents. Let her let her, you know, get back on the horse. But not now. Let her take a break this stress. She's gonna be nervous. You know. I love my daughter. I don't want to give her added pressure. Let's put her in a good situation, set her up to win, as they say, Sure, I said, Plus, she's not comfortable with your car, I'll take you. I'll take her driving. Okay, So they take her driving Sunday night, Monday afternoon to get used to the car, drives to my wife to work on Monday. Nor I'm just okay. So Monday, no problem getting it ready. Tuesday she's leaving the house to go pick my wife up, and somehow, I don't know how, she has an accident on our street with a neighbor. Okay, okay, I don't want to get into the neighbor because people listen to this thing. I don't know, you gotta go, you gotta go. It's late. No, Okay. So she gets into an accident out my wife's new car. All right, we call the insurance company. We reported, we do the right thing. Whatever. This was a month ago, month and a half ago. I've called him a couple of times. Where we at where we at? Okay, don't worry, Mr Brodie. You and your wife have a great record. If it's going to affect you at all, and I can't imagine it will, uh, you should be fine. Maybe it's gonna go up a little bit, but you have a great record. You're longed. We value you, We value you as customers. Okay. So let's say, for ships and giggles that I was paying three thousand dollars a year for the two cars we have. Okay, let me give you a number approximate. I get a letter yesterday that says, due to the recent now keep in mind, my daughter is no longer technically all my policy. She's in college, right, okay, but they keep her on your policy like in the background, because she technically still lives at you. She's a dependent. Here she comes again. I don't know. Okay. These are the worst sound effects ever, you're not the wind tunnel, all right. So I get a letter that says, due to the recent activity and blah blah blah, I should have brought the letter we have. Unfortunately, we have to put you in a different bracket and this is your new your new uh annual rate. Yeah, they raised my rate from three thousand dollars a year. How much do you think? I don't know about a hundred dollars five hundred to seven thousand dollars a year? Are you kidding me? All of the damage to the three cars was not four thousand dollars. You're charging me almost four thousand dollars more per year every year that she lives in my house, which could be at least four more years. You're talking about sixteen thousand dollars because she caused four thousand dollars worth of damage. Fuck you, insurance company. That saves me money if I get on the phone with you for fifteen minutes. Fuck you. So I called him up and I say, what the fuck? You can't raise her You're doubling my rates. Oh Mr Brownie, good Customer Services, watch with your execution, stop playing that one. I said, that's more like you got dinged. So I said, I understand if you raised my rates a thousand dollars hundred dollars, hit you again. Well, you're not supposed to raise my rates the amount that you paid out to the cars we hit fuck you again. Granted it's unfortunate, three accidents in a month and a half or two months. I get it. I get that you're unhappy, but that's a lot of well, you know, Mr Brodie, that's gonna be on her record now for three years with a maximum of five years. So she gets out of the high risk pool. So it went from three thousand. But mr thix thousand, Mr Mr Brodie, listen, you have to understand. We understand your position. We've all been young drivers, we all we all know that you know, young drivers are more prone and less experienced drivers. I said, this is the justification. I said, it's bad enough. She's not even really on my she's not driving, trust me, she's not driving, not driving the cars. No, how do you resolve this one? I mean, you're you're fucked pretty much. Have you by the ball? So I said, let me get this straight. The way insurance works is you pay a fee and God forbid, you need it you pay medical insurance and you hope that you don't need it. Right, right, Okay, Well, if I if I had medical insurance, I'm entitled to see as many doctors as I want. They don't say you've seen too many doctors. We have to raise your rates. I know the circumstances with like life insurance policies and medical whatever. I know, if you have you're going through cancer treatments. Tell them the average person goes to do you have good medical benefits? I can go to the doctor every freaking week. They don't raise my rates. So I said, look, I understand that you've paid out some money, but I've been paying you roughly three thousand dollars a year for nine years. Right, you got twenty seven thousand dollars of my money. I didn't have an accident. Did you give me a refund? Did you say we we pocketed twenty seven thousand dollars and never once had to pay for anything? Is a classic argument, though, I mean, you're right, and then and then don't go you know whats right? No, you know it's like thirty six or whatever it is. I say, said I paid almost thirty thousand dollars, never got into an accident, never had a problem with anything, right, so you should say, good driver, discount. Here's five grand back, here's five hundred dollars for every year you were a good driver that we didn't have to pay for an accident. No, but as soon as we have some accidents, Oh, we're raising your rates up the seventh thousand dollars stop next seven, give me one more for seven seven bullshit?
