Speaker 1: Start up, start up, Brooklyn Boy, start up, Brooklyn Boys, start dot up. They're making noise, dot up, dot up. We're not making noise. Episode two eighteen. Hey, I'm making noise. It's you're you're like, you're you're the Brooklyn Boys podcast. It's the Brooklyn Voice podcast. That's Brody. I'm scary. Hi, how are you? Oh, this is not gonna be good. This is my inside voice. No, you did more yelling on the BAMD Wedding podcast. I know we both did. But here's the thing. We're this is a very unique situation. We're recording our podcast past ten o'clock PM here on a Wednesday night, and I gotta say that there's quiet hours here, and there's an infant neck that lives next door along with the family and the young kids on the other side of me. You know what, I gotta keep my voice down. I live in a don't I forget live in a one bedroom apartment and the new soundproof. A couple of things. One, move the hell out of there, get a bigger place or a house. At this point, you make enough money. Number two, you went out to dinner, Bougi boy. You could have come home earlier. This is your fault. And number three, how many times have you complained on the Elvis story in Morning show and on this podcast that you've been getting blamed for noise in your house that you didn't make. Correct? That is correct, and I would like to keep it that way. I'd like to keep it that you've been blamed, what six or seven times when you aren't even home for footsteps and banging and parties, you might as well even it out. Now make the noise you getting blamed anyway? Um, I want to say one thing. I have to keep my voice low because people are sleeping in other apartments. I live in an apartment building. Then move into a younger place where everybody's awake. And if I'm being completely transparent, it was a client dinner I could not get out of. And tomorrow we're leaving for the Jersey Shore. Brodie, you and I have an engagement at the Jersey Shore tomorrow, well Friday, I know, but we gotta get down there. And nobody seems to know I'm coming. That's kind of weird. What are you talking about? Well, I spoke to the engineer. He's like, I didn't know you were coming. And then there was an email that went out inviting everyone to the hotel Thursday night. I didn't get it. So I'm getting the big old chefter runo chefterno cheff, cheft tony. I can't plow the dingo chef the mondo. Now you know, chaft to Palooza. I brought you up to speed. You're my boy. I brought you up to speed, and now you're coming. So so you are coming, coming and hanging out. So so anyway, I'm not hanging out Thursday, all right, but you are hanging okay that aside as that I'll be there on Friday, Yes, so we have we we so because of that, and then it leads into Memorial Day weekend, we're not gonna have a chance to record the podcast any of the time. So I came home to do this podcast, trying to keep it, keep it quiet. I don't want to get a noise complaint. So that's where I'm at right now. So we're doing this live broadcast on the Jersey Shore on Friday, Yes, with One Republic d n C. E uh Leah Kate, who I like before you any further d n C. In case you didn't know, Joe Jonas and the Jonas brothers lead singer and One Republic. You got your boy Ryan Tetter in there. You're talking like that their bands major star power. Because because some people, some people listening to this podcast do not know that d n C E was fronted by Joe Jonas and the Jonas brothers. You have to put it out there. You have to be specific. Yes, people know who the hell d n C is not on this podcast, No one's first of all people we know we're talking to people on this podcast right now, So it would behoove us to explain Joe Jonas. I feel it's offensive to the other three members of d n C. You should want to see all of them, and you know what, I get that, But I like Ryan Tedtor a lot. But the violin players my phone ling is setting up the magnitude. All I'm doing is setting up the magnitude of the lineup by and by re highlighting that, underscoring Joe Jonas will be in the house. Ryan continue, if I have to say Stinging Shaggy, Do I have to say Sting from the police or is that enough that Sting stands on his own he's a major star and Shaggy from the guy who sang it wasn't me, doesn't say that. I remember the first time we met Shaggy in the early two thousands. He came into UH to our radio show and I was like, good morning, Shaggy. He went, hey, how you doing exactly? That is a complete So so I found out that when he does Mr. Lover Lover, it's called them Mr lovell Lover voice. It's almost like back in the day when UM A Bust of Rhymes were going to flip mode, you know, and then the flip mode. Yeah, flip mode, flip flip Wilson flip mode, Bust of Rhymes would have like two different personas. You know. Nicki Minaj has two different personas. UM doesn't Beyonce have Sasha Fierce uh Emine, but she doesn't sing in a different voice. Eminem has Marshall Mathers doesn't sing in another voice. A couple of them do not Beyonce. But anyway, they have but not none of the ones you mentioned, but go on researched that. But anyway, what s Eminem's Marshal Mather's voice. He's got two different personas, is what. That's not what we're talking about talking about. Diferent voices. You said, flip okay, okay, flip mode right, Busta rhymes turns into flip goes flip mode was like that. So Shaggy when he goes into the most lava lava, that's his right. But when he greets us, he doesn't greet us as a Mr. Lover. He comes into the studio and he's like, you know, what's up? Yeah, you know. But we thought he was. We thought he was a hundred percent Jamaican and had a Jamaican ex come on saying you go to the Olive Garden and all those waiters that talk with Italian accents and from Italy. Okay, But but Shaggy actually, isn't he from Jamaica Queens, Jamaica Queens. He is from Jamaica, Yes, I think he is. I think he is now trace from from Kingston, Jamaica, as I thought, yeah, yeah he is Kingston. Right, so there you go. But but I know, but but he he speaks with nailed, nailed, the Jamaican accent. That was the Kingston dialect when I went Kingston, nailed it like Sean Kingston. Now Sean Kingston from Kingston. Is that a made up name because he wants everyone to think he's from Kingston. Well, I'll look it up right now, Sean Kings, because I can tell you right now there's a guy who wants you to know born kissing or I don't correct me, I don't care. Paul Anderson uh in Miami, Florida. Oh Ship. His family moved to Kingston, Jamaica when he was six, so that counts Kingston. He moved to Kingston, so so he changed his name from because he wants to be known and associated with the place that he grew up. Kingston. Nailed it again. It's no, no, it's Ganston like that, not Kingston. I can't go too high. Remember I had noise decibel decibel levels do you know? Do you know that that? Uh? I've seen this before in New York City. I don't know. I don't know if this happens in the parts of the country. But people yell, well, I mean, you do enough yelling for all of New Jersey, all the people I'm talking about. When I when I would do these appearances with the radio station, we'd have speakers set up outside and all of a sudden, police officer, someone in some kind of a uniform that's not a cop would walk by with like a little um like a meter like I guess it looks like it looks like a speaker or microphone or whatever. It's called a decibel decibel meter, and they what they're trying to do is measure the decibels to see if it's over the threshold of what's allowable in public and if it's over the the If it's over that amount, they will give you a noise violation ticket. UM. And I asked one one time when I was standing out there in Times Square, the noisiest play uce on Earth, I'm like, so, uh, did you guys just do this randomly? And they're like, no, we got we got a couple of calls. So people had the fucking balls to call the cops on us. We're doing an appearance in Times Square next to Dirty Elmo and probably so much corruption and violations and destitution and prostitution that's going on in Times Square and all and so many other crimes going on, and people have the the audacity to call the cops on us as we're doing our gig, and the cops are forced they're like, yeah, that's part of the job. So they have to walk by with a decipel meter to make sure that we weren't playing the music you know that we play. And I wasn't screaming into the microphone, you know, too loudly because you know, and and and sure enough we were not over the limit. So we didn't get a ticket. It's happened. It happened a few times. Check your peephole in your door, in your front door, your apartment. See if the guys outside your apartment right now at the decibel meter. I'm looking down at my pepehole. I don't see anything. Yeah, how are away is your face from it? That's great. I don't like being quiet. I feel like yelling a little bit. Can you get your face right up to the old pp hallam right now? A little stretching, Oh my misr love of love of stretch, miss the self love is stretch self love. Yeah. So we will be there if you're hearing this podcast anytime before Friday morning. Um, it's a free show. Come on down, we'll be there. We'll be broadcasting live for Elvesterman in the morning show. It's not gonna be warm enough for shorts. I like, well, you know what I'm forcing it. We're gonna be indoors. It's covered. It's indoors. But anyway, com but it's not the the sides are. It's it's open air. But anyway, if you're wearing shorts, no matter what. Absolutely it's summer, I'm kicking off. I gotta kick it off the right way. White shorts, white shorts. I'm wearing pink shorts. Actually, oh, I know the pink salmon actually sad bad light pink. They're salmon. Salmon is a little orange in it. Yours a light pink. Don't try to play that game, whatever you want to call them. But anyway, Victoria's Secrets pink going. It's all ages. It's free. You just show up. People who are still confused, they're like, I don't understand. What when do I get tickets. There's no tickets to this. You can walk in and and by the way, here's a little tip if you if you show up at you know, don't come at five five o'clock in the morning, because they're lined up on the boardwalk. Six o'clock the doors open. They let people in. By the way, by seven thirty. You can chop at seven. You can show up at seven fifteen and just walk right in because there's no line anymore, because every way in Madhouse. So what if we're packed. We could be packed, but the place is so big you'll you'll still be there. We haven't. We haven't done this in three years. We have three is what the people coming. We did it last summer with the summer COVID last year. This is no COVID. I mean, let me rephrase that. You're right, You're right, You're right, no COVID. You were you were deep in it, you were deepen the COVID. Last Sean Mendes was here. It was pretty crowded. But anyway, yeah, it'll be more crowded this year. All right, we think because Staying and Shaggy, we are think gonna perform together. What's yes, Yes they have. Shaggy has another album out with Sting. This is their second one together. It's cover songs. It's Frank Sinatra songs as done by Shugg and Sting. Sorry, I'm I'm I'm hydrating by the way. I love Shaggy and I really enjoy meeting Sting. But together they're the nicest, like they're the odd couple. They don't belong together in terms of like the musical styles, well a little bit, you know it. Sting had a reggae vibe to it and sorted the Police, So I guess they do, but you wouldn't normally associate it with But I think I told this story and it still shocks me. I may bring some Police or Sting merchandise to get signed on Friday by by the Stinkster. Wowgressive seeing that he's moved on thirty forty years after forty years later, he's not anti Police first of all, second of all their minds. I also have Sting solo albums. How that being said when he came up to the radio station for our show for to be interviewed last year that three years ago. Now, I brought my Police albums and he not only did he gladly signed them, but he said to me, oh, is this what this looks like? I said what I HadAM signed Synchronicity, which is one of the biggest selling albums massives like six top ten hits on their five top whatever it was, and he says, yeah, I don't think I've ever looked at the packaging before. I said, sing, it's your album, it's your biggest album. Yeah, well, once we make him, we don't really look at them. It's never been you've never signed one before, You've no, you don't own it. Nah, so in in in in forty years almost. It's hilarious he's never signed. I don't. He was gonna ask you, you know how much he couldn't try to cop on eBay for this ship. No. I had him put my name on it. I had him signed that. I had him signed my Zenyatta Mandata and my my ghost in the Machine. Wow, he said, all of them at a silver I've been waiting for the police reunion. Why don't they get together? So they get together, like for like a one night charity event. They've played together since they broke up. I want to say they broke up in eighty four, eighty five, somewhere in there, right, Yeah, that was the last. By the time, by the time Fields of Gold came out in like eighties six, Sting was already on his own. Yeah, and that was like boom right there. Yeah, googling that Bertie, you got the Googler out, Uh, No, I just I told you. They just fanned an eighty six. They reunited in early two thousand seven for a one off world tour that ended in so they did a reunion tour and oh seven. I don't know why I didn't go see it. I should have. I don't know why they disbanded. They were so great together. But you know, well, you know what though, if you, if you, and then this, even if you're not a fan of the band, this applies to any band. If you looked at the credits. Sting wrote the music and lyrics to every song on their biggest album, but two, and the other two songs were shit like not like Yoko Ono, shit like bad. So the song he didn't write was No he wrote that that wasn't on synchronicity. No, I'm talking No, that was I'm talking about Mr Gradenko and Oh mother, that the other two guys in the band room. You are totally like, wow, I don't even know what you're talking about. Please, oh Mother. It's like screeching cat deep cuts deep m knowsn't it the deep cuts? Why because he didn't write them. So if you're staying in the band's huge and you're like, wait a minute, I'm the face of the band, I'm writing all the songs that are hits. I'll just go solo? Why split? Why split the money? Now, if the other two guys broke up, I'd be like, what, like, you don't you don't split up the band when you're the other two guys. You know, when you when you're the two guys, the two girls that aren't Beyonce, you don't split up Destiny's Child or three at the time, three of the Star in her own well, she's got a couple of hits, but not recently, not like Beyonce. Kelly Rowland didn't say, you know what, I think we should all go solo Beyonce. Hell, no, right, it's always the successful one justin Timber Yeah right usually yeah. Harry Styles, now he didn't break up One Direction, but and I don't think they broke up in sane people said Zane broke up One Direction because he was the first one to leave, right, But the four of them could have gone on without him, could have. And then Harry looked at Zane. Is that I'm following you? I'm out. I think I think they all split the same time. By the way, I saw Harry Styles Friday night at the Ubs Arena in Queen's Slash almost Long Island, that there was the Harry's house. It was a one night only performance. He did the whole new album and then a couple of songs after his first first Yes, dollars a ticket, that's amazing. Yeah, and I bought two tickets. I paid for the tickets fifty bucks, you know why, as the merchant, and I had money left over so I could buy my daughter merchandise, of course, which was more than the tickets. All right, well the merchandise story. Can I just tell you my merchandise story? You can after this break, Okay, Bye bye, Syrian Dye. You are so bad with timekeeping. I just wanted to slip in one more store, okay, So do you feel free to do It's all. It's not the arena's fault. The arena, by the way, I've never been there before. Have you been at the Ubas Arena, BEAUTI No, I've not not since they remodeled. Actually know, I actually use the brand new arena on new construction, brand new new construction, whether whether Belmont Racetrack is man we're gonna do with the the crumbling Dasall Colosseum what they refurbished it a few years ago. They use it for concerts. They use it for monster truck shows, whatever, wrestling. Yeah, anyway, I don't know what the future is, but right now they use it for stuff. But this arena is gorgeous and so much like walkways, and it was really nice. Anyway. You know who works for the within for the Islanders now our friend carry yes, but I but also our friend Vito Vito from the Mets. Zero Vito from the Mets, who used to run all the sound and production and entertainment for the Mets, now does it for the Islanders and the Yankee. He's a good man, that Vito. I love. He is a good man, very good man. So I'm just saying, all right, good stuff there. So the merchandise, let me tell them about the merchandise, because this would have pischede you off. So my daughter says, I already already she belongs to all the Harry Styles fan clubs and so she already knew the merchandise they were gonna sell because they put it like on the websites. And she's like, okay, I want Dad, if you're gonna you know, I'll have money with me. But if you know, if you happen to want to get me something, I really want the tote bag and the shirt with the three houses on the front. Okay, I said, yeah, I'll keep an eye. Just I don't want to get him before the show. I want to get to my seats. So she tells me that the show starts at eight. I didn't get the tickets till the last minute. I got lucky. I got like the last minute tickets they put on sale. I got them. So, like three o'clock on Friday, I call. I call her. She's at work and I say, hey, I got the tickets. Let's go. She's like, I'll come home from work right now. So it we left New Jersey at five, and we hit every bit of traffic on a weekend weekend to go across the bridges across Manhattan two you got cross. Yeah, So it took us, I want to say, almost uh two hours and forty minutes to go what normally would have taken forty five minutes to an hour with a little traffic. So we get there like five to eight, and I was like, you want to go to get merchandise. No, No, I want to get to my seats. Okay, so we'll get to the seats. We get to the seats, and then she does does eight o'clock comes the music's playing, and you know, like when the music lights go down, anybody cheers, right, Well, this was a young crowd of all like young girls. Every time every time a song ended, they all stood up and started shrieking like you gotta wait till the lights go down. Yeah, I mean they're not concert trained. Brodie realized a lot of these people haven't been out, I mean, contracts haven't been around for them two years ago. It was the last concert, and they probably were a little too young. So some of a lot of people were experiencing this for the first concert here. Well maybe so okay, So we realized, now at twenty, the show is not starting. So we asked the couple next to us, the two the two people, and they go, oh, it's starting at nine, like nine. We drove you like maniacs Faye. Of course that always happens. So no opening band nine o'clock. So I said, you know, I'm gonna go and get merchandise. I know what you want. Um not a problem, you stay here, I'll go. So I go out. By the way, I forgot my phone, which was a nightmare, so I had to borrow her phone because she had the tickets on her phone. I didn't have my phone, so I had to go like take her phone with me, which drove her crazy because while I was gone, she never phone got forbid. So I go out to the merchandise tables, and the way they had it, there's three floors there, the ground flow when you come in, the second main floor, and the third floor. But you know, some concerts have merchandise all the way around the ring, like all the way around the arena. Every like five sections is on the table. Oh no, one table when you first come up the escalator. That's it. And because it was a one night only show, all the merchandise, a lot of it was like special one night only. Forget. People are probably soaking that up. Everybody's like gobbling everything that they can because it's all gonna go on eBay the next day. So I go out there and yeah, there's no merchandise. Of course not it's gone. What would you expect? This mustard yellow shirt, which my daughter would never want. It's mustard yellow. And I got to go back and I broke her heart and she's like, oh my god, I wanted to All right, well you get it. Tomorrow an eBay for Quinn Tupple the price. Yeah, well that's not what family are you talking to. So we go and we're watching the concert and I don't know, it's halfway halfway, and I go back out and I say to the guys at the tables, Hey, you get any more merchandise? So the guy says, maybe like twenty minutes. I said, why yeah, maybe twenty minutes while more merchandise, Well, why do you have it out now? I don't know what we're gonna have more? I said, okay, So I he said, check the out. There's like some club lounge levels, Like there's like the Special Dime Savings Dime Bank Lounge and Hunda Lounge. So I I broding my way into both of them. I'm like, oh, my daughter's got the phone, she's inside. They let me in. The emerged tables are wiped out to even the the HOI POLOI rich people. I love? How then is going on zero Fox given? And you're just searching the concourses because I want my daughter to be happy and I'm not. I'm look, I like Harry Styles, but it's not like I'm I'm going to like It's not my guys shirt. No hold on. So I go back to the table and I say to the other guy, I go, hey, listen, I heard there's gonna be more stuffy in like twenty minutes. I've been walking off with twenty minutes. You go aty more stuff, Not that guy lied to you. When I get any more stuff, what you have the yellow shirts left? Just the yellow shirts sending you in circles. So I go back to my seat and I'm sitting there and my daughter's got that look on her face like she's loving the concert, loving the concert. It's just to you know what, Dad, I'll pay for it, but I really want the yellow shirt. I gotta have something to commemorate and this is a great concert. I'm so happy. We're having a great time. All right, I'll get you the yellow shirt. Not a problem. So I go back out and now it's like the show is three quarters over. They have unpacking giant boxes of clothing on posters and duffle bags and and and and everything. Right, So I run up to the guy. I go, you said there was no more stuff. I don't know, So I'm like, so I'm like the first guy there. I walked out at the exact moment they were unloading all the boxes. So I got the tote bag, I got the shirt. And as I'm ringing up now, like swarms of girls are running running down the hall. They must have gotten like message, there's more stuff. So I got out of it it, almost got trampled by the swarm of young You got it, you got in there, right in there, you got your I got it. So, uh, what I would say is, uh, don't always assume this sold out. Keep Oh yeah, it always keep checking. But the dude. But that goes for everything anywhere every time. I mean, I'll give you an example right here. Um, I I got sucked over by United Airlines. Um. I was in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend with my buddy for his birthday. On purpose. Yeah, on purpose. Well, he would come here, so I don't know if that was a layover. Oh Danny, my buddy, Danny. I was in Columbus right and and I had what was the nickname we came up with for Danny. I forgot with Danny like Danny connections, Danny connections, So Danny connections. And I we went out Saturday. We're out Saturday night. No, I didn't and then and then next thing, you know, I get a message on my phone that, oh, we're sorry your flight has been canceled for tomorrow. Imagine that it's now now my less than twenty four hours out of my flight for my flight for Sunday going home, and United decides to funck me over. So I look and sure lo and behold, there's not one direct flight left because everyone on the canceled flight went to go scramble to get on other flights and the other carriers at like for a seat, and there's no guaranteed that I would be able to, you know, use Delta or American because it's my credit is not good there. So they're like, we're gonna rebook you and United as quick as we can, meaning, uh, you don't go out Sunday, You're gonna go out Monday. And that would sit just great with Elvis, right. So so I'm sitting there, I'm like, motherfucker. So I go to the page, the landing page for the flights out for United for the next day, and I'm sitting there and I'm and I'm hitting refresh and it says booked in full, booked in full, and I'm like, what if I just keep checking back because they're sold out, but you just never know, Just like that that truck that came by with your posters and your fucking merch at the Harry Styles show, Broody, I'm sitting there thinking, this gotta be a better way. This, this, this is gonna be something that opens up. I keep checking back every ten minutes, twenty minutes, half hour, refresh, refresh. All of a sudden, in the middle of nowhere, a seat appears. One seat appears, it says, it says not full, uh, and the light goes from red to green on the seven oh one am flight out and I'm like, you know what, beggars can't be choosers because now my four o'clock flight in the afternoon was moved to seven am. This is where I need, uh Brody's help. The better get Brody so so seven. So I allowed myself to get on that flight because otherwise I would have been fucked completely. And I remember it's at no charge because it's a rebooking and whatever, because they got they canceled me. But now I missed the entire afternoon, morning and afternoon in Columbus. I was going to spend Sunday there, but I had to get up at like five in the morning to get on a seven oh one flight. So to your first point, yes, keep checking back because it's not always sold out and sometimes things get put back in the system. Right, so that that ticket, that seat got got kicked back, someone must have canceled and I got I swiped the seat. But what would you do now after you took the flight home and have been inconvenience where your entire day has been destroyed? Because I planned a month ago to get on that four pm flight on Sunday and here they are canceling it the night before. Well, I I would I know when did we discuss this? Didn't we talk about this on the was it the podcast? Well the fifteen in the morning show podcast? I don't know if we talked about it. Did we address Yeah? We we we we briefly mentioned it, and I said, oh, I would hook you up. I would take care of you. I thought we mentioned first of all. So so I said, make up a bunch of things that you didn't do. When you're like, no, I go, don't ask me the help. Didn't we talk about that? I don't think that was one of them. But yeah, maybe it was. Maybe it was. But you know, way I said you should United. Did you pocket? Did you park at the airport? Then you can't say you had to overpay for UH parking. The thing is they should refund. What I'm looking for for my free dessert is a complete refund of my return ticket because in my mind, they fucked me out of my entire Sunday in Columbus. Why you know where I was cut short to seven am instead of four pm. I know these are first world problems everyone, but still I deserve to be there for Sunday because I wanted to go for the weekend. I couldn't even enjoy my hotel room. I'd wake up at five in the morning. I barely fucking slept. Well, don't forget you had lunch plans for Sunday. I did. I did have brunch plans. You were seeing an old friend that you wait until Sunday to make plans with that brunch with him and all that got ruined. Oh, I would absolutely I would start with comping your ticket, and then I would lower myself to a free ticket the next time I fly UH, and then settle on a free first class update upgrade oh my next flight? Yeah all right, yeah, fair enough. I like that. All right, I'm gonna call them. You want to sit on hold for me? No? No, what kind of friend are you? What kind of friend? Please? So can you ask me what kind of friend I am? I'm not gonna wait on whole field. I will give you advice for the right price. You can call me when you're on the phone, like can Serrano de bergerac you and I can text you what to say. What the price is nice? What's the price? The price? The nice price? The price that I want. I want back my money. I want to hunt. I think that I think the magic price is is a hundred fifty dollars in vouchers. I think that's the magic number. Yeah, well, jet Blue canceled my I tell you the story. Didn't tell you this a couple weeks ago. Jet Blue we we all got a hundred dollars each. That was hundred dollars. Boom yeah. But I'm one person boom m. Yeah. So anyway, So, so I guess I'm gonna have to do this on my own at some point. But whatever, I'm just fit to be tied. I was so piste off I got home. I was miserable all day on Sunday because the whole thing was ruined. You all, you planned everything, and my yeah, the schedules out of whack. Whatever. Now there was no seven o'clock, eight o'clock, nine o'clock like fly through the night kind of flight. There were flights, but they were all full. So because I remember, you're booking with us with like twelve hours to go before the flight, but sometimes the late night awful flights aren't full. I was. I was pressing that button, dude, over and over and over again, and you looked into flying into say Philly or Boston, and Philly, I'm not gonna know, dude, I'm flying into one of the three major airports in New York. I didn't say drive home from Philly, but you can fly into Boston and take a little hop hops dude, Dude, it's first of all, the flight from Columbus to New York. This time, it's it's it's an hour and hops this time. Everybody clapp hands. Yeah, but but it's you talk about like a ninety minute flight to begin with, or less like an hour hour? Okay, but if you why would I take a lay over for an hour flight? Okay, because if you could have taken a five o'clock flight and gotten home at eight o'clock, so a little bit, a little bit of inconvenience, you still would have had you day in Cleveland, in Columbus whatever. Dude, Hey, you would have been so. But by the way, as I was, we were saying at the top of this podcast, the reason why we're doing this late on a Wednesday is because I had a client dinner. Get the jingle ready, son of a bitch. But I'm gonna I'm not gonna talk. I'm not gonna talk about a client, Gonna Brook Boys client. I'm not gonna talk about a Brooken Boys client. Not gonna talk about anyone other than the fact that, Uh, I get to the restaurant and I find out it's a vegan restaurant. That were but I'm out, I'm out. What was the client a vegan client? They the clients, the family who we took out to dinner were are are vegan? Their vegetarian? And were you out with with Big Alex? No, I was out. I was at with UH with with some other friends, some other sales managers. Anyway, that's not the point. Anyway, here's the thing when you go in with a negative attitude, you're you're gonna come out with a with a shitty result. And you've been well, no, you don't want to go in negatively. So so when I get there and I'm like sitting there, I'm at the bar with them, and if I was in a vegan restaurant, I would have on it positively like this is gonna be positively awful. Well I was. I was also thinking of you, because I'm like, du Bernie would not me, not not have any of this. But when I have to say, I decided to go, I decided to you know, take it everything as it comes. Sit down. Have you know we're gonna all order off the menu. We're gonna share. It's like a shared experience. All the stuff that came out, I swear to you, Brodie, it's vegetables disguised as meat. There was this one dish called Chicken of the Woods, the fake steak. Chicken of the Woods was mushrooms. But get this, it looked like fried chicken tenders. It looked like it, it smelled like it. It even had the consistency of it. And when you caught it with a fork and a knife and you eat it. Yeah, I swear to God Brodie, it was probably the best dish on the menu. It's not felt like I felt. It felt like I was eating chicken, and it felt like the consistency in my mouth and everything. I mean, it was gonna happen months. I'm now, they're gonna blow the lid off that place and it's gonna be chicken. It's not chicken. It wasn't chicken. But everything that they did was inventive and really really detailed, and I could not believe. By the end of the meal, I could not believe I was eating at a vegetarian restaurant. And it was because I wiped that that frown and I turned it upside down. From the second I walked into the place, I said, no, this is gonna be my This is gonna be an amazing experience, because because first quick second when I walked in, I was like, it's a vegetarian. Oh my god. I was a little bit. But then I'm like, wait a second, vegan. Vegan is another step above. But it wasn't vegan. It was vegetarian. Okay, okay, but but anyway, needless to say, it was a wonderful experience that you et, you eat vegetables, you eat more vegetables, but the vegetables. So they had this collie flower and it didn't look or feel like or tastes like colie flower. So it's like it. But it wasn't a really dull It wasn't a real collie. It was a fake colleigue. Yeah. Anyway, I just I was. I was picturing you in this position. You would have been squeamish. Oh, I would have had you know what, all my my, I'm getting a text message. My daughter needs me. I have to go. It's some emergency. Bye, I would have I would have bailed. No, See how convincing I am. You thought I was gonna get up and leave. No, if I was at the restaurant, I would add some excuse. But by the way, I don't go to a restaurant without looking it up online first, so that wouldn't happen to me. Yeah, speaking of of, I want to get ahead of this. I'm going on the record. Just slices, listen up, slices. I'm letting you know this doesn't count all right, doesn't count as my steak dinner. Letting you know now not mentioning any names yet, But Scary and I have a possible client coming on. It's nothing, nothing signed yet, but it's a really good steakhouse in New York, a couple of locations, quality steakhouse. And I know if we get this client, they're gonna us to go there for dinner. That doesn't count as my steak dinner. I'm telling you right now, I'll put it out there. Slices you heard at first. It doesn't count even if Scary leaves the tip because we're eating. Not if we for free and he leaves the tip, it doesn't count. That means we're gonna both have to pay the tip. Because if it's gonna be even if we're gonna have to pay, that's fine, that's fine. You can't get a crazy, crazy tip, though, you can get like a fifty tip that I have to match. Now, speaking of um, you would do that to me too, by the way, I would. I would. I think I would be at this point because you're a dick. Um, Yeah, I will say this. Raven Wilcox sent us an email at the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. I wanted to read this last week, Scary Broody Body scary. He is Raven W seven. Grew up in Westchester. The group walks listening to The Big Show whenever my mom would drive me anywhere in the morning. So I've been a big fan for a long time. I've been binging the hell out of the Brooklyn Boys podcast since I started listening about a month ago. Currently off to episode one seventy three. I'm getting excited about catching up, but also not excited. Excited because I want to be able to interact with you guys, but about current things. But not excited because I'll have nothing to listen to and I'll have to go back and start over from the beginning. I'm even considering making a Twitter account just to be able to tweet you both. I work as a security guard for a high school, so I'm sitting by myself most of the time at a desk. I also have just over an hour drive e tweet They've been she she's been ten to twelve episodes a day. Right crazy? Anyway, Um, fast forward, constantly laughing out loud ba ba blah blap, air pods, second jobs. Alright, alright, anyway, here's here's here's the part where I have to let you off. The hook, Brody, Um, this is me talking Scary because I was waiting for someone a slice anywhere back in those early episodes to call me out because Brody, it just went by him. But here, Raven is the first person here on this date? What is this May? What day is? Whatever? Brody, I'm so surprised you still haven't caught this. I'm not sure if you guys don't listen to all of your own episodes all the way through. But it was in the lower one hundreds. I'm really not sure exactly what episode. Once I catch up and start over, i'll tell you. But anyway, Scary was talking about something, and I think you may have been looking something up on your phone and only half listening to what he was saying. You must have been, because Scary slipped in not one, not two, not three, but four inappropriate product endorsements. He slipped in Sloman's four times in a row. He did it once, didn't get be careful, I'm not no, no, I'm reading the email. This is for email part. He didn't once, didn't get a reaction, slipped it in again, no reaction, Again, no reaction, and tried a fourth time and nothing. I'm pretty sure, even said something like, wow, Brodie's really not paying attention here. Yes, I did say that. I was screaming at my radio for you to say hit the jingle, bitch the lasting. Anyway, and by the way, she continues to go on this, this is a long email. I gotta say, writing a long email that's so Raven. But anyway, thank you, Raven. All these episodes later, someone calls me out on that I am shocked because I said it, and I did say. At one point, after I said it four times, I said, I don't know what not paying attention here? Raven? Raven, I promise you that will happen nevermore him throwing in the edd growl, and Paul lines now Disney Channel, and she continues, Is she from Baltimore, NFL? Booyah? She's from Westchester because west Chester is best Chester? Thank you so much. Is she from west Chester or west Chester? Westchester, New York? One word? OK? When not west Chester? Where's where's west Chester? A? Yeah? Alright, alright, so on more one more person I want while I'm on the email tip and then we can get onto more ship. What tip you want? Uh, Shelly write? Good morning gentleman. No, no, grammatically would be, Shelly writes. Shelley writes, Oh, here's a grammatic. Here's something grammatically incorrect. Good morning, gentleman with an M a N gentleman. She just means me. No, she's talking to me. I'm well mannered. I'm so happy that I found you guys last August and began my Brooklyn Boys podcast journey. It's a musical journey. Um. I listened every morning on our way to work, and you guys get me ready to start my day. I am a gang analyst in a prison system. It gets kind of heavy sometimes. Anyway, brooke Boys is my first official podcast. I love listening to you both and find that each episode I'm Belly laughing out loud in my car and I agree with Scary one episode and then Brody on the next. I'm currently an episode one fifty. Yes, I listened in order, and I agree with Brody in regards to the lady who brought his wayfair brought his wayfair chair and tried to scam him out of the ten dollars. The only difference is I wouldn't have let her leave the driveway with my chair without full payment. She can go down the road and get me the ten dollars and come back for the chair. Anyway, I was yelling at the radio, so glad I found you both. I have never heard of the Elvis Durmand Morning Show nor Elvis Durant. In fact, I have since begun following the members of the Morning Show without listening to a single broadcast. Dan Yella is hilarious. Love her accent. Um. All right, I will have to check out the Morning Show on my way to work. Make sure make sure you on on Instagram. You're oh, she's following of us on Instagram. We we've inspired her to follow everyone. Make sure you tell Elvis you all brought over a new listener. Stay funny, keep safe. Hopefully meet you in person one day. Shelly, Wow, that was that was a mind blown moment right there. Well, Shelly, here's what I'd say a couple of things. How about you tell Elvis that we brought over a new listener. That would be great for We introduced her to Elvis. That's crazy. I've never I've never experienced that before. We've had a couple of people that haven't listened to the Big show. But for the most part, we're riding Elvis's codtails. Let's be honest. Yeah, I mean, come on, now, he's the reason for the season. So I mean we're the tail. You know he's he's the dog. Well, we may be the anus. Hey, I need your opinion on Oh god, I need your opinion on a joke. Yes, So I I I said something that I thought was funny and I laughed out loud. What else is? Thank you? Well? I had left loudly because everyone else is usually laughing scary Jones. So I'm on the fault with my wife and she's she was looking up. I don't know what. I don't know where the story came from, but we were talking about we'll go. We're planning a vacation and one of the places we were thinking of going had a had a volcano. So she's like, oh, she said, this is ridiculous. Why would this be so expensive? It's two thousand dollars to tour on inactive volcano, like to climb down in it and walk around inside the volcano. Two thousand dollars. That makes it. I said, that's I'm not gonna do that. She's like, no, it's crazy amount of money. Why would why would we That's I mean, what are they showing you like caves like two thousand dollars, that's a piece that's each I'm like that we can't. That's not something we would do. That's that's not that's not our life. That's four thousand dollars to walk inside. So she's so then she's scrolling showing us. Well wait a minute, here's another excursion. It's only a hundred and fifty dollars to go into this volcano. I wonder what the difference is. So I said, oh, that one's active. IoT. I stot laughing because I was like boom, I said her right away. I'm like, wait, we did this joke on the Left podcast. I'm having deja vu. We did this on unused punch Lines. No, I didn't. You did this last week? Did we? Yeah? Oh? Well you know why I bring it up again because I I went and told my wife again. I'm like, you should have left at that joke, and she's like, nope, still not funny, Sorr, Sorry I told it again. Um, I do want to read one text message today from two days ago. Take a break. So here's the text message someone. I don't know why this person texted in, but they said December. December. People have sex in December. That's why there's so many August babies. August is the most popular birth month because everyone's having sex in December. Is that Isn't that Like it's not accurate. So sex in December would give you maybe the last the very end of August. But most of the August babies were conceived in the last three weeks of November. See, everybody thinks it's nine months, but it's actually nine and a half months of pregnancy. And so I just want to say, you know, I I corrected them and they were like, they were nice about it, but I wanted to say, everyone just bring it up. Everyone makes that mistake that thinks you know, because they I was like, oh, I was pregnant nine nine terrible months, it's actually nine and a half. I mean, if all goes according to plants, that months basically yeah, okay. Also, you used a phrase earlier. I think you said, um, oh you said all of a sudden, right, you said all of a sudden. It was like it was canceled. Lately, I've been seeing two mistakes a lot on our text messaging, and I don't know why of late, but people keep texting and all of the sudden, Where did that come from? I don't know. I've never heard all of a sudden. And then the other one is people keep saying thank you for the advice but spelling it with an S, which is advised, So it doesn't auder correct because advice is a word. Well maybe they should be advised on how to spell advice that's correct. So I don't know why. Lately I've been a lot of people have been d m N me and tweeting, Oh, I really need your advise on something. So I know the S and the C make the sounds sounds. All right, let's take a break, and uh, I know I have a story about the police, and I know you have a story that you're holding back. So another story coming up. Ah, that's good. Well be right back after this pasty and scary. See what I did there? I went to commercial before you could interrupt me and go to commercial, which is fine. I'm totally cool with that. All right, So what did you want to tell me about about? What? With what I thought? You said you had something? Oh, I have a couple of things. Well, first of all, um, I wanted to explain that I mentioned this on the Big Show. I mentioned a lot of stuff on the Big Show. Yeah, but for about ten seconds over Yeah. I had never heard of the Big Show until this podcast. I witnessed the miracle of life. I witnessed nature. I felt like I was on National Geographic and David Atton Borrow was doing Sir David Attenborough was doing his you know his voice like this talking about wildlife and birds, birds and doves. The rooftop of City b Stro, of all places, Brody, we have been following and tracking this dove and it's nest of eggs for about a month. Somehow, some way, the roof of City b Stro was home too. Well. I guess that was the place that this mother dove wanted to build a nest behind the speaker that was in the ceiling. So we have like the speakers are kind of like lodged between like the ceiling and the wall. It's kind of like sort of you know, the mini speaker, and and so behind the speaker on a ledge, the mother doves started building a nest and laid eggs there. And I was there with you to night. I saw it, he said, we showed it to you right, yes, which reminds me of a great story I want to bring up that we didn't give enough time to on the Big show. So so very very quick anecdote, so it's more of an observation. So I've just been fascinated because every time I would go to City B Show, you know that's our that's our cheers. You know, that's where everybody knows your name. We're right, will you walk in? Everybody else? Norm Yeah, we're always there. So we're hanging out, we're partying, and and every time we go there, but it's the doves still there. Sure enough, this fucking dove is there and it's sitting there. But there's music always coming out of the speaker. There's always hundreds of people walking around, people screaming, yelling, all kinds of things, and this dove is up there, and I don't know how it stands all the noise and the vibrations of the speaker, but it it sat there the entire We watched it every time we'd go in the City B Show. I thought that they would have been would have flown away. What happens if they play Prince over the speaker? Whatever cry? For whatever reason, Ohio, whatever reason. It lasted a month and baby baby doves were born. And on Sunday when I was there, I saw the baby doves chirping, and the mother dove went to go get food and kept kept flying back and forth and bringing the baby doves food. So we were watching the mother. Eventually, we're gonna be sad because this dove and these doves are going to leave. They're gonna leave the nest and everyone's gonna just evacuate the dance floor whatever, literally, and they're gonna be gone. But it's just been a lot of fun watching this happened. I mean, before a very god, what are the odds that in the most concrete jungle of the city behind a speaker, a nest is built and we get to see this day in day out and this miracle of life because it is spring. A question, it's a warm and fuzzy but anyway you touched it, was it a Was it a real dove? Hello? Was it a real dove? Or was it like processed vegetables that made that looked like doves and tasted like doves? Dude, these were dove. This was were the white white doves? I don't know what color they were. Yeah, yeah, no, it wasn't white because that new pope. No, well, doves usually are white, but I guess it's anyway. I wanted to give to you the update because I know that you did see the dove, because you were there. I did see the dove. Yeah, I'm glad you started the update when you didn't think I was there. No, but the update was the eggs hatched and now there are baby doves in the nest. Nice. And if I go to City Bistro tomorrow night, I'm sure the doves will still be there. Just so I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you a quick story and then I want to get back to the City Bistro story. But a few days now. This happened to me a couple of years ago, and I don't know if I told you this on on the podcast. I have a rectangular mailbox at the top of my porch, like when you come up the steps. There's a mailbox with a lid, and it's rectangular, so it's long, it's it's horizontal, So if the lid is up, it means I took the mail out and there's no mail, and if it's closed, it's mail in it of course, so one day last spring, the mailbox was open, all right, I guess I hadn't gotten mail yet. And I reached my hand in and it's all full of dirt and twigs and like mulch and and like dried leaves. Like what the funk? I said, somebody playing a prank on me. I'm looking around. I'm like, who puts ship in my mailbox? So I threw the stuff out. I threw it onto the into the garden whatever, and I closed it and I never had never happened again last year. Well over this weekend, I go out to the porch to get my mail and it's full of the crap again. I'm like, it's somebody pranking me again. And then I realized when I looked up, I heard, ah, you fuck up their home. They're happy home. This bird or the same bird or another bird or the bird came back and me another like a bunch of kids again. They're making a nest out on my mailbox. So I had to take I what does old man Brody do? Did you take a broomstick and then shove them? So by the way, I would let them. I would let them build their nests so that don't get any mail. Then I shouldn't get any mails. You have the mail put on the on the step and blow away. Yeah, why not let them? Let let nature happen in front of your eyes. No, so I carefully took the nest out and I placed it in my garden in front of the house in one piece. Yes, that's a contaminated nest. They ain't gonna hangings. That's probably correct. So I think I may go to home depot or somewhere like in the area that sells them and may get like a small little nest thing artificial nests, I guess, I don't know. I wonder if that happened. I wonder if you could buy a nest for birds, Like I'm just gonna buy a nest. I'll buy like a thing that would they that they could put leaves in and build a nest. No, I'm saying, why not buy like a you know, a glued together a bunch of twigs and stuff that they don't want crazy glued twigs they're gonna lay in it. They want natural. They're not bougie. They don't want to force. You can probably buy pre manufactured nests made of this scary The ship in there is not the issue. There's plenty of ship on my law. But you wanted to be as authentic as possible, so they didn't let him build it. Let the heart build it. Let the mama bird. I'm not gonna He's not gonna like you dismantled their other fucking home. You know your father is when you buy him something he doesn't want, like a brin t today. I don't need the fancy stuff. I'm not a jet center. The bird's not a jet center. The bird just wants a place to put the ship that she picked up and build a nest. You think the kids are like, Ma, you don't even buy this nest. Clear up the nest a little, you can buy it. You closed on their home. You literally took it away from them. In fact, you did more than that. You you imploded it. You actually you you you. You came in like a wrecking ball, destroyed. You can destroy their happy home. But your ideas, I should buy a glue together like a Lego kit of a yes, and and because you have to, you have to, dude, the bird deserves free dessert. You know you do. You'd buy a Google Nest home system and put it out there for them you fucked up their home. You wrecked that ship, You wrecked the fucking home. So that sucked up my mailbox. It's not a bird box, it's a mailbox. You could have you could have allowed them a box. Couldn't open my eyes? Right? You are? You are? You're heard the worst. You're the worst. I really think that you could have gotten went to home depot, figured something else out right, and then and and have something that's already been built so they don't have to go to the trouble again. And then give them someplace because they've been displaced. You know what I'll do. I'll put the nest on my grill and I'll cut out a step. That's it. I'm trying to be nice. I put the nest as best I could, in one piece, by by one of the bushes in my my little garden area. I can't can't live in my mailbox, but I'm gonna buy a second mailbox. What is it like an after school special? Jimmy wet and brought another mailbox. Uh, I'll make a TikTok video. Oh, we discovered the nest in my mailbox. Well, last year we got rid of the nest, but this year my daughter had a great idea and it's mr, Mr, Mr, Can I please buy another mailbox in my house? Well? Sure, a little girl. By the way, my daughter is the youngest is seventeen, so don't talk like that. So I get in a film up for the TikTok video for putting a new mailbox down. And then the post office worker, the mail carrier coming and putting the mail in the mailbox. It's on the porch, not in the one on the side of the wall where she can reach. But she bends down and then slips on the step and falls down and breaks her ankle. That's what would happen. If the least you can do, Brodie, the least you can do, because if you're thinking about if you really really think about it, yeah, fuck them up. You you their whole happy family where they're homeless. Now they're home, build another nest. I don't think they will. Every damn day there's shipped on my car when I leave it on the driveway, so I don't have to be And that came first. The ship came first, so that little shitters. I don't want to suck up a spider web. You sunk up a spider web that they work so damn hard. Spider's great. I just saved the lives of a hundred flies. How about that was where's my fly award? Huh? Where's my thank you for saving the flies? Think about what wors? How many worms did I save by getting rid of that box? That mailbox? Nest, I save a lot of worms? Thank you. I don't think you're interfering with nature. What do you know about nature? You know you don't know anybot nature. Your idea of camping out is going to a three star hotel. Cut it out, trying my best, it's the boys. Look, we gotta get out of here soon. I want to tell you about the doctor Strange bucket. And by the way, we have a ship ton of talkbacks to play and maybe we won't do it on this episode. Can we play back? Let's play back to talk backs just too, and voicemails let's not let's not do that. You know what, why don't we tell a boy Matt to re enact that. I mean, I think I think we're we could do that, right, we have the we have the power to do that. No, I think we're doing the buy that. We're doing the bike too. You know we're doing the bye two get one free. Right now. I'll tell you what. Um if you code fuck Brody, you'll get off a bit. We already corrected it. It's but it is by any two items other than the stickers and receive one free sticker sheet in effect. You know what type it anyway, maybe something special will come up fu Brody. No, No, you know what? Fun scary, oh, fun scary. Maybe you get a special pride. Maybe Mad will throw something in with scary and fun Brody. I don't know, we don't know. No, let's not do that let's not Let's not do that. Let's let's okay. Anyway, I wanted to tell you what happened to me with doctor Strange Popcorn bucket man. Do that. And by the way, we will read your talkbacks next next and hold off, let us catch up. Don't don't use any don't well, if you have something that's amazing from this episode, you want to comment on talkback? Yeah, oh my god, we're gonna have like a double load. If you know what I'm saying, I do not. You know, we should just do a bonus episode. It's on point where we just played talkbacks as the bonus episode. Bonus bonus. Alright, okay, one more thing before we get we got out here and I tell you my dtr Strange bucket story. I just want to remind everybody the Bam Bam Bam wedding podcast producer Sam from The Elvis Rand Show and her fiance Bill or william Um. They do a podcast called The Band Wedding Podcast, and it's the trials and tribulations of their ongoing wedding planning. They were foolish enough to have me and Scary on that the latest episode. I know the episode number, so whatever episode came out on Wednesday. They then episode they must have edited that down because we were talking for about an hour. Well, they sam took our photographs and put our heads over their heads on their logo. Very cool. So it's sort of a Brooklyn Boys bonus episode, but it will also hopefully expose you to a great podcast, The band. The band podcast is fantastic. Hey, what was this show? Listen? I think it's episode four. They talk about all the sex they've had with other people. Good, good stuff. Listen you what we're talking about. You said you had another city bistro beef. Oh yeah, I almost forgotten. I mean, we got gonna tweet me like I got a lot. We've got a lot going on here. So we went to a big Z one New York radio station event. It was corn holing. Yes we did. There's no there's no good way to say that. There's none. So we went to a corn holing event. Bag in the whole game, that's right. And after the corn hole event, I don't know, like thirty of us went from the pier in Jersey City, Hoboken rather with an amazing view of Manhattan and we walked I don't know two blocks to city bistro where I've never been before, where there's a dove who gave birth that maybe doves behind the speaker on the roof. That's correct. And this place is like five levels with a little like nooks and cranny rooms everywhere. When this place is packing, it must be like like like an awesome club, because every place is like a place to hang, a place to meet. It's it's it's not not a commercial. I I haven't eaten, I had anything to drink there, but we went and they have a rooftop bar with with a with a center circular bar in the middle of the roof, and then around it is like the little chairs and tables. And then on the other half of the roof there's like a little walk away, a little covered walkway, and there's tables, so there's two halves of the rooftop. And then where the tables are there's a staircase to get out of there, so you can't see the staircase from the bar area. You have to walk through this over this little little tunnel to get to the table side where the staircases. That sound correct, scary might explain that right. It's like it's like a letter I or like a bar bell, like a dumbbell. It's so so there's two things on each side of the little tunnel. So where at the We're at the bar and we're having a good time. We're hanging out, and was like Brodie's hanging out. Whoa look at that Brodie City beach through that's crazy. It's like five o'clock and scary. Syt to me him him, listen, we're going for We're going for dinner, a big, big, nice steakhouse nearby. Already heard the word and his eyes lit up. Yeah. I thought he was gonna treat me, but now he didn't often to treat me. He was listening, where are you going with this story? But we okay, well let me finish. He's listening. It's only like reservation for like ten or eleven people, So it's like thirty people. So they I called four times and started with four of us, then six, then eight, and then ten and I'm like, I can't call back again. They just they got pissed at me the last two times I called. So we only have this and this isn't a seating for ten and this isn't the place that that wouldn't give Scary two tables a six. It's a different place. Scary's got seating issues. Always went to complaints of restaurants. Scary, what can't you mean more like it was full? They are, they were fully committed, and we need reservation and commedy ten tend people the last minute. It's difficult. So Scary tried to get it to twenty and they like, can't do it. Tends the most, tends the most. So he says, listen, I gotta picked ten people that already know that we're going no. No, But what you said, what you said was one of the sales guys made the made the initials yes, and so you and he were like picking people out that were like already knew about it. So you came to me like, listen, Brody, we we gotta slot open. You want to calm you're in, And I said, that's great. I can't. I gotta get home, I gotta walk to dogs. My family's on home. I can't do it. I can't try, I can't do it. So it's okay. So I'm standing there talking to a couple other people from other radio stations or the departments, whatever. So I notice now you know when like jets flying a formation like that triangle formation like the pyramid, and then when they're like they split up, they're like gog and like they tilt and they fly off. But you know, like at the sound of music, when all the kids line up, they're like so long, farewell offers and good night, and they all like dance off one at the time. Scary and the other ten people are casually peeling off one at a time from the pack, like to do all planned. I didn't make it. Somebody else his fault. But Scary is one of the whistlers. So well, here's what the plan was. The plan was, let's leave, and let's leave into pairs of two where we will leave eve and and and space it three to five minutes apart, where it looks like a couple of people might have gone to the bathroom. Some people might have just called it a night. Some dipped, Yeah we're out done, so so he dipped, she dipped, you dipped. We all dipped. And then before you know it, some actual people went home and there was like eight or nine people still at the bar. And I'm hanging because if I leave, these people are like, where are you going and I'm not going to dinner. So I was like, I'll I'll hang so that it looks like what people are hanging. And then eventually a couple of them like, hey, uh, what's scary? Why are they asking for me? Am I the center of attention my life of a party here. Well, the people that would asking me know that you and I are the Brooklyn Boys, and since they noticed you aren't there and other people, they figured, well, Brody would know where scary is. So I had to do the Hamana hammeda we had. But at the end of the day, you understand my plight. We need to lose people. I understand. You have to shake it off. You got the first flight out of out of uh. You got to know you got to You got the first out of Lumbus. Also, you got the seven am flight right out of city. Be struck. I gotta go. So everyone else like, well, wherever to go? Like they must have gone, they must have gone home. It's getting late. I gotta get out of here. But I knew, and I felt terrible. You left me with the with the bank so to speak, you me and the doves, Like I'm hanging with the doves. So so what happened? So people like, huh were they or were they just drunk? Well, the person I was, the two people I was speaking to, you know who they are. They were four And you can't people like that to dinner because they're gonna everywhere. So I said, oh, I think he'll be right back. Listen, I gotta go. So I don't think they remembered any of that to the next day, but you guys will slick wreck. You guys were like, well, you like, didn't Homer Simpson where you walk backwards bugs Bunny when you walk into or the flint Stones, we walk into the arena backwards? Hoard Homer Simpson where he fades backwards into the bushes. He just kind of like, oh yeah, yeaheah, I'm talking about having Costello went into the they went in backwards to the the or the or SpongeBob SquarePants where he says, I I'm a head out. Yeah that all right. So let me wrap this up by telling you what happened. So Doctor Strange, you know it's been out for a few weeks, and about two weeks ago, Garrett from our show Garret Garrett Hey says, hey, man, I got um I got a connection with some movie people. I got a whole movie theater. We're all gonna go see Top Gun Maverick. It's free if you want to go. So I said, yeah, I'll bring my buddy Jeff. We'll go. We'll go see Top Gun Maverick. And it's in um Menlo Park, New Jersey, which is like central New Jersey if you're not familiar in an AMC movie theater. And my daughter says to me, Hey, Dad, you know I know my daughter, my youngest daughter collects the Marvel promotional popcorn buckets for all the movies Star War, all the like Star Wars, Marvel, all the Disney properties that they own. They have metal like tin tin popcorn buckets, you know, like where it's like ten dollars more you get to ten collectible bucket. So we have all the Star Wars buckets, we have all the Marvel buckets, just dad, you know what. They're only available at Regal Cinemas. Now. Regal Cinemas is a chain in the area, but there's not a lot of them anymore. A lot of them are closed up. There's one or two is one of Manhattan. I think there's like five in New Jersey, but none of them are near me in North Jersey, so I'm going to Central Jersey. I said, well, you know what, there's a Regal Cinemas about eleven minutes away from where I'm going to the movies. I'll go there after the movies if you want, Oh Dad, that'd be great. This is a Monday night. So we go to see Top Gun Maverick. And let me tell you something. I hadn't seen Top Gun. I hadn't seen it. I watched it the night before. I really enjoyed it. I was surprised. I liked it that much. Top Gun Maverick a hundred times better. It's fantastic. That's my review of Top Gun Maverick. It's I mean, the flying that they put all the actors in the planes for a lot of the scenes, like, it's just fantastic. So so I said to Jeff afterwards, can we go the Regal Cinemas. It's like twelve minutes away. Whatever. The Regal Beagle the Regal Beagles, So we go over to the Regal Cinemas. By the way, we did make that joke, a threes company Regal Beagle joke, to which I found out that Larry from the Threes Company show played the bachelor, the guy who was always picking up chicks. He lives not far from the town where my friend Jeff lives. He's like, oh yeah, Larry still lives right around, not far from me. Like yeah. So we go to the Regal Cinema. That's a Monday night. It's like ten o'clock at night. It's empty. There's one person online for popcorn. I go up to the counter. There's two young girls. I want to say young, you're like sixteen, and a guy and a guy baby the same age. They can't be that much older than that. They're working late night on a Monday, you know, part time job kind of thing. So I get to the register. I'm looking at they have it on the menu board, like Doctor Strange popcorn and a large drink twenty five dollars. I'm like, Jesus Christ, twenty five dollars. So I go up to the register. I said, hey, I want to get a Doctor Strange popcorn bucket. He says I was sold out. No, he can't be sold out. The promotion started last week. Now we're sold out. I said, you don't have any damaged ones, like with a dent something I got because there's no other Regal cinemas to go to. I gotta have a bucket. He says, you know what, there might be some damaged ones in the office, but you know, I don't think we get Do you really need a bucket? Like? What are you gonna do with this fucking bucket? You used to collect aarbage pail kids. Yeah, but but dude, I collect dirty popcorn buckets with dirty popcorn bucket, you douche bag. These are new collector buckets, a collector bucket. Yes, I'm not buying the buckets from going up and down the aisle looking for old buckets, I said, you have any like dented like sometimes they get dented and shipping. I'm like, go, do you have any like little scratch or dent? Something to manage? Is offing something? He says, we can't sell you those because it's inventory. I said, so you have some, we might, but we can't sell those. I you know, I got use supervisor. No, can you please get me the supervisor. He says, yeah, alright, gain the supervisor. So the girl behind the count says, they're not going to sell you about it's that the inventory though, it's not gonna sump to you. I said, yeah, I tell you a supervisor. So supervisor comes out. He's maybe in his twenties, and he's wearing like black jeans and a black polo shirt, so he looks different than everybody else. So he's on he's staying next to me at the counter. He's got the cloud he's got the clouds. So he and I are talking at the counter, and the two girls are standing on the other side of the counter like three ft away listening. So I said, listen, I'm I drove forty minutes. I didn't tell my drove ten minutes because I live forty minutes away. I said, I live forty minutes away. I can't come back because they're like, we might have more next week. I can't come back. And I really really need a bucket. My daughter collects the buckets. I promised her I'd get her bucket if there's any could do to give me a bucket at that and the girl and he's not gonna sell you when it's l inventory, excuse me, Can I have a conversation with the supervisor? Please? Wow, she was butting in on your conversation. After She's like I told him, you're not going to sell to him. I tell them, and she needs avent toy. I said, could you just give me a minute. So he says, hold on there, hold on. I said, if there's anything you could do, please I I anything laying around, anything. He says, well, you know, I might have a couple, but they don't have the action figure on top, so we can't sell them. I don't I don't want the action figure. I'll take the bucket. Whatever you can do. So he goes, I you know what, I had check with the manager. I'm but we inventor with them. I don't people these people ask permission to take a piss. People like this that they're given authority, but they have still have to ask questions. So the supervisors just make an executive decision. Right, So the supervisors let me go talk to the manager. What's the worst that could happen? Right? So so so I so the supervisor, I said to supervise, listen, I know you inventory them, but sometimes they get lost. You're off by one. I go and see what you could do. So he walks away and the girl goes, I'm telling you you're not gonna get that bucket. So I said, you don't know who I am, do you? I said, we've never met. I said, let me, let me explain something to you. I guarantee you if there's a bucket in this building, I'm going home with a bucket. You watch me, You watch and learn how I can be convincing and polite. I'm getting a bucket. And the girl goes, you're not getting a bucket. So the so this is at the end of the counter, and with the end of the counter ends, there's like a like a wall, and around the wall the supervisors well, yes, we do. So the supervisor says, come over here. My manager wants to talk to you. So I go around the wall where a girl can't hear me or see me, and as heavy set guy in his suit comes out and he says, of course, it's what do you need? So I said, look, I just need the uh, the bucket. I don't need I need an action figure. I just I don't I know, I live forty five minutes from here. I need. I need a bucket for my daughter. She has all the buckets. He says, well, um, you know I don't have the action figure. I I can't ring it up full price. I said, well, no, don't charge me full price. Well, if I don't charge you full price, I can't ring it up. I go. Didn't charge me for like a large popcorn. Just ring me up for something. Figure out a price. I'll pay it, but I don't need they I am not gonna pay full price. About the Action figure, Well, what can you do for me? He says, I can't ring it up at this kind of price. I can't do that. I said, listen, I don't need the popcorn. I don't need the soda. It's twenty five dollars. How about I give you twenty and we call it a day, all right? He says, you don't need the soda of the popcorn. No, you just need the bucket. Yeah, I just need the bucket, he says to the guy, goes go to my office, get him a bucket. Yeah, you go go to my office, which means they all fucking knew that there was a stash of buckets back. Yeah. So, but they couldn't sell him about the Action figure. So so he comes back. He hands me to bucket. I walked back around the wall. I said the girl, excuse me, can can't talk you for a second. I have the bucket behind my back and go see this. Yeah, she's mout trops, I said, don't ever doubt me. I said, I told you I get the bucket. I said, I didn't appreciate you button in, but you see him like a nice kid. I said, to let this be a lesson. Let's there's be a lesson. Always be polite and and and never take no for an answer. There's always a will, there's always away, and never made the scar. I listened to the Brooken Boys podcast from more tips on how to get free buckets exactly, and so you probably shouldn't. You probably should have taken the bucket, smashed it over her head, and then say you're looking a little pale today. That's great, But no, I legit only point I go watch me because she's like, you're not gonna get a bucket. You're not gonna get It was like she wanted to win so badly to tell me that I had no I you don't know how we do think people. Some people take great joy in making others. She was like sixteen years old. She's like, they're not gonna get you a bucket. She's snotty, she's she's at that she would. They must have said, like, we can't sell the but they told her. She's like, she's you're beating it. So the guy who guy right me up and went, dude, he hate me a dude. Then he looked outside of my Jeff dries a jeep, so he goes, dude, you got the bucket. Damn that's I said, that's right, and he go he looks at the car because my Jeff was right in front of the front door. He goes, oh, and I like your jeep. No, he said, I like your ride. He was, I like your ride. I go, thanks man, my buckets gonna look good in that car. So I walked out. It was like major victory. It was like one of those were the music. She stopped playing and then freeze frame with my fist in the air and my bucket under my arm, right, and then the credits come on the screen like yeah, like like the end of Breakfast Cloud, like seven seventies eighties sitcoms, right right, freeze frame phrase frame, my fist on the air, hold the bucket in the other yea, watch me, I said that. Watch me. She thought I was some Jersey. No, she didn't realize I was from Brooklyn Boys, b B Boys,
