Speaker 1: Back when we met for the show. You met me, right, so you met me and then Brodie how did that work? So it was scary and Brodie brody and scary scary jokes in the studio and he said scary and bro beaut up start up Brooklyn. By start up Brooklyn, buy data. They're making noise data dot up. Episode four. You see what I did there? Yeah, we see what you did there. Okay, you involved our guest Joe. Joe Gotto Practical Jokers is in the house. Well, if you're just gonna say what rolls off the tongue better, it's scary and brody. Thank you, Joe. You know what I invited? Jolp you that? Wow? I mean I'm just shooting you straight bro Wait wait, boys, I could do that, came. I wouldn't want you to shoot me straight right right? So you just told me I used to be fat and I didn't get married. You said you look good losing so much great that means you look bad now you look Jo would agree that it sounds better rolling off the tongue scary and bro scary. B Yeah, I mean it doesn't. It doesn't mean do you think it sounds bad? I think there's an Italian thing going on here, and you're just so Joe from Staten Island. Originally, if we're from we're from Brooklyn. You're on the brook side of the bridge Zano. I don't know what to title this podcast number what would we title it? I was gonna say it would be like, you know, the two Brooken boys and the guy who walked whose family walked the plank, But then again that's two inside the very inside. Yeah, well walking the plank is the Verrizano Bridge because the Varrazano Bridge acted as a plank. Everyone from Brooklyn was a mass exitust to Staten Island when they built it in the sixties, and those that weren't lazy kept going until they got the jersey the world. The ones are like do you stay here? Yeah? Yeah, you know the Verrizano Bridge I has a lot of Ghatto history. Really. My grandfather used to run a Ghatto formal wear in uh Staten Island. Was it like a guinea t in black? Yeah, that's right, Yeah, that's exactly what it was. Boe uh and you know the inside the jackets had a whole there, so he was they were doing the parade to open up the Bear's own bridge in the first you know cars that went over. The first car had like the mayor and whoever, like, had important people, and my grandfather supplied the tuxedos for those people to wear. They were in Gatto formal where in the first car that went over the I was expecting you to say, and he was in the second car. No, no, no, he wasn't invited. He was working here for a second. Does that mean he gets free tolls for life or something? Get something? He gets free tolls going to statins right, No, no, leaving stet leaving right. Yeah. So, actually we have a history with Joe Gatto. We don't just we didn't just like turn on the TV one day, like, oh this guy is cool, he's funny. We like Brody knew him for years before. So why don't you explain a little bit, give a little context. We didn't hear the history of this history show and the fifteen minute morning show. It only matters here, right, I'll go quickly, Joe want to contest never happens sat comedians in the same room and I'm sitting here ping pong back. That won't be a great joker heard because she doesn't listen to anything. Yeah, well she has no taste. Obviously, she doesn't even watch my TV show. My wife doesn't listen to the show my show either. No, I really don't listen. My wife doesn't. His wife so doesn't listen. She won't even married. That's how she is. So Joe want to contest at South Street Seaport to hang out with the morning show one day. Right, there's the brief version of the back when, way back when, like two thousand two. Yeah, you're already wrong though, what a contint? But I want the house. Had to send in tapes to auditioned. That's how I that's how I scammed go to Brazil for Fred. Yes, yes, okay, so yes, you send in tapes. We picked you. Yes, I don't know why I did, but we picked you to spend the day with us. He had personality on the tape. You're like, oh, this guy would be fun on the show. So I have to be on the morning show for an hour? Is a DJA for the day right now. Most people, if they come up, if they get a chance to sit in or if they can I visit the studio, they get very nervous. They don't talk a lot Joe jumped in. If I remember correctly, I know where he sat. I could picture in my head and spoke like it was his show and he wasn't leaving. It was great, It was awesome. But then if you always had that, he always had that in you, and you were doing stuff. Weren't you doing filming stuff comedy before that? Yeah? Improv group? Right, so you and and the boys, the guys from stating down, you're your whole crew. Yes, that you grew up. We're doing and by the way, all on YouTube from many my space first, yes, that's my space, and well we hosted the stuff on YouTube, but my space was the big platform at the time, right, Oh my god. YouTube didn't blow up until two dozen six, which was a lazy Sunday is what pretty much built YouTube, that's right? And then uh what else? Oh? Yeah, So Danielle and I were hosting the contest at the South rect was it was like a month later or something, it was, yes, And then Joe showed up and then he took everybody by storm and won the contest. And he was a dance contest where he had to come up and dance and dance off and one and he got a trip. He want a trip to Brazil, and we were the judges and Joe, you claimed that I didn't want you to win. You know you you didn't want you didn't try to pick me. You looked past me when you got They were picking people after the hot girls, and there were Yeah, but all the girls are already picked. They picked five girls and five guys, so that all the girls got picked. And I think Scary was just like, did I miss anybody else hot? I think it was because I knew I had known you at the time, right, I knew I had already known you, Like, man, I can we can't let this guy win. This guy's a ringer. This is gonna look awful, like we fixed these contests. Yeah, it was. It was interesting. Then Danielle, you saw me in the crowd and was like, okay, let's give me a shot. I also think that I think they ran out of guys that volunteered too. They needed five, and I think four normal guys wouldn't do that. That's true. And so then Joe kept in touch and wrote song parodies for us and always, you know, kept in the loop and how you doing, what's up? And then uh, you know, here we are. That's right exactly. Think we had to go to five people to get to you today and then up those people. The funny part now many people have my phone number. Both of you guys do we did? So that means that should that should say I called you once inappropriately? Yeah you did. Don't believe I know you? So we we We did a podcast last week fifteen in the morning show where we listed all the celebrities that are in our phones, and uh, you know, I don't know if I have one of the guys from def Leppardy my phone. Yeah, and one of them came up. Because the boys, we didn't mention you when you're in our phones, we should have ice. So a few people have very forgettable. We'll give your phone number out at the end. But here's the thing. I haven't called Kathy Griffin in like ten years. I don't even know if it's the same phone number, but I keep it in there because I just figured it is. Well, I think most people still people I I know, I kept I have the same phone number, and I think people keep it just because people that you knew before it happened. You're like, you know, if you want to keep in touch with that guy had Perez Hilton's phone number. Yeah, but then he had like this, He had a lot of he had done something wrong in the news and he got people hate mail and he said something wrong and then so he changed his phone. So I keep it in there so it looks like a press Hilton's not. So. Speaking of knowing Joel a long time, I also know Murra for almost as long as I know you. Unrelated. Murray used to work at an acting school. James Murray on the show and he needed comedians or people in the industry to be honest panel at his acting school that he worked for. He contacted our friend Greg Charles, who works at Caroline's Comedy Club in New York, greatest comedy club in the world unless another one wants me to play there and then they're the greatest. And so he must have said, if you know anybody, So Greg reached out to me and said, be on this panel. So I did the panel where you speak to kids who and people want to be in the industry and they want to talk to professionals. And James Murray wrote me a check like three hundred bucks, and so I did that. I did it like three or four or five times, Murray was like, hey, I need you again, and then fast forward, I find that he knows Joe. Fast followed they're on the show together. But I didn't meet them through each other. No, No, it was I actually think I was. I went to one of those things too, because I used to help them run them sometimes if I had time and you were there and I was like, what are you doing here? You're like, oh, friends, I'm like, oh, I was like, I don't know he had Brody doing these things. So, I mean, and that's what that's what a little about in Practical Jokers, you know, you know, I want to talk a little bit about the show. Of course, I mean obviously everyone knows it by now, right, Uh oh, maybe we'll convert to new people today. Never you never know, you never know. But but the truth is, you guys, you're authentic, you're real. You lived together growing up Instant Island. You knew each other and you you came up together. That's why the show works so well, because I mean, you could just it's totally transparent. You can totally see that you guys weren't put together or casted for these parts back and you know, so so I love that, not like one direction thrown together and they just the people say that about our podcast because Brody and I authentically know each other for twenty years and that's why it works because we could like you know, we could just riff on each other and act like idiots, but that's what we do well. Lilliam is a fan by the way of you guys, big fan loves us. We played twice Buns in Her Heart and then we actually were introducing we this year. We were fortunate enough to get at MSG Jingle Bawl to introduced, which's a bucket list item for me. By the way, to introduce an artist was really was I've been going for years. I love Jingle You show up every year year there as much as we are, I know, and I'm not invited. That's the difference, not like how did he get in? Everybody says that, I think a lifetime passed at this point, But you finally, what was it like being on stage? And by the way, that wasn't your first time. One hold on a second back this truck up earlier you had a sold out show garden with the guys. Fortunately there were two comp tickets for me and my Walkers and Talkers podcast go host Jamie h And we got to go and see them on stage and we went to the after part. They were great, by the way, and it was it was such pride to watch them on stage after knowing them so many years and minutes and masses. Where God, I know, you have a huge tour, but it's massive square garden. Everyone he goes, great, but it's the Garden. That's your whole arena, right, And so we go to the after party and there was I don't a few hundred people in the adulta lounge had big room. These four guys, as exhausted as they were, took pictures with every single person and then every combination, take a picture of me and my father, and they just kept taking pictures. It was unbelievable, and they were just sweaty and hot. Tell me, so, what was it you had after two weeks after you played your own show. I was, honestly, I was as excited for jingle Ball. I really was, because yeah, it was always just like you know, when you have something you want to do, like when we played the Garden. It was unbelieable. Was even more special for me because I had I brought my daughter on stage, which is great. Uh you know, yeah the end last year, Yeah, last year we played uh two years ago at this point, right, we played Radio City and at the end, I when after we play a last video, I always walk out and say, you know, thanks so much with the tenderloins, to say a night to everybody. So I brought her out on stage holding her so that now MSG and my I have my son, my wife, and my daughter on the side stage because my daughters stayed up and she napped during the day and she was watching me from the side stage. So every time we have videos, I go down and I hang out with her and I'd be like, Daddy's gotta go back to work that okay. So the whole show she was there, and at the end I said, you want to come with Daddy to work, and she said yes. So she comes up on the stage with me, and at home she has a microphone and she sings from the movie sing I'm still standing yeah yeah, yeah right. So she grabs the microphone, she sees it, she goes and she takes the microphone and she just whispering and places going crazy nobody and she's just having her own moment just going I'm still standing yeah yeah into the microphone that it was unbelievable. So they dancing at the South Street Seaport, and then we obviously come to the I Heart events in Vegas and stuff like that. Oh yeah, I love it. And then when I did, I heeart. We uh. We were introducing Halsey who was on after Lamb and he's coming off stage and he's like no, And I had seen him two weeks earlier at this Xbox party and that's where I found out he was a fan. And I've always been a fan of them, and it was crazy. Did you get invited to the Xbox Point? No, I didn't know. I got invited to Jack in the Box. I think we got bumped. You guys. You guys got invite to the Atari party. I got invited to the Collio Vision party. I was home alone with my Joystong television, my Tandy. I got the radio Shack party. I wait a second, they went out of Yeah, I think is one left. I heard Circuit Cities coming back. Yeah online, only you need breaking mortar. Yeah. Well that what they're gonna do is they're a new store within the store, so they can open up like Kiosk stores in like series. You know who did that? Tesla did that with Norm. I was in Nordstrom and is it Tesla with I'm like, who's like, I need a pair of jeans in the Tesla. You're not gonna find Tesla J C. Patty, I know several in the corner. By the way, my mother says hello, my mother loves you. By the way, I had to ask you this because I don't have to have to because he's a fellow fellow Pison and fellow Italian Guido whatever. Yeah, all that stuff. Sunday Sunday sauce, going to the Seven fishes. You gotta ask them about seven fishes. Now that that's something else. That's that's all up. So upset about this. You go home on a Sunday or any holiday. I get to my parents house. This this just happened on Christmas, and on this on Christmas. Think about Christmas Eve. That's a totally separate questions here. Christmas Day, Yes, there is Christmas Day. Okay, I come in my Sunday best, you know, I gotta look good, right. My mother second I get in the house, starts screaming at me. Anthony, what are you wearing that shirt? For? Are you're gonna get sauce all over? Every time I go to my parents house, I look like I'm I'm a homelessol because yeah, because they they forced me to take my clothes off and put on like a raggedy ass T shirt because they're freedom gonna splash sauce on my shirt. You can't get sauce out of chess king. It doesn't come happen to you. Yeah, I mean I never wear my best Bang Bang shirt. Your mom, what's going on? Well? Yeah? They my my, you know always you always do the Sunday We call it gravy. In my house, we'd always did the Sunday gravy. And uh, I don't know, maybe I just eat cleaner than you. I wasn't forced to change. I don't know how you're eating spaghetti. You put your face down the plate and I don't know what you do. I don't know if you're eating right. But no, my, we would always do the aprons. My mom would have the the the extra apron's like does anybody need an apron? And you put on the apron backwards. The suggest that to my mother turning like like wearing t shirts with holes in them, sirs from the nineties. How animalistic do you to eat? You need aprons like you're eating. You didn't pay for this. My mom's got it down. She taught me when I was young. She does the airplane rubber spoon, rubber spoon. Dude, you just wear a red shirt. It's all good. We go for a time food. You wear a red shirt. Nobody sees it. My mother takes it like you want the Alfredo sauce. No, no, no, they take it personally like they paid for this freaking shirt. I'm like, listen, it's not like like like you know this was a gift or this is my shirt, my money. If I want to split a sauce, I'll jump into a pool of gravy, exactly. I just needed to get that thing out of the sea of time things. Scary had two fights with his mother in the past weekend, had Christmas Eve. He funked up. In my opinion, this is not an Italian thing to do on Christmas. I'm piste off. But on Christmas Eve, if your mother had a choice, you had a choice to your mother making Is there any difference in your mind between your mother making stuff, shells and big Ziti Christian Day, Christian's Day. Yeah, shells, big z absolutely, Yeah, which one do you want? Thank you? You could have taken my place at the table. He called his mother off. Apparently Ma makes stuff shells every year, but this year she wanted to do something different. She wanted made big zd His life was over. I got so angry. The sauce cheese ratio is completely differ, different day, he refers to z. But yes, it's a pig sauce. Yeah, there's a difference between making stuff shells and big Ziti, A big difference. Star Shells goes down the pipeline and Ivi Olio girl goes right off. You gotta keep dippering. Cedy holds the sauce and she was gonna sub out stops I mean Manicotti or it's different. Yeah, that's okay. I'm okay with that major cheese food group. You can't you can't just now tell me as an Italian American, here we go. You know me, I'm as Italian as they come, not being Italian. Yes, Feast of the Seven Fishes, Yeah, I know it's fish bas Christ. Listen to listen to our previous episodes. It's fishes in Brooklyn. Okay, he had seven sushies. He had seven sushies. Get out of the studio right now. I hope you would dipping him amount of nod sauce. This is what he's trying to pass off his traditional Christianity. Okay, so you think you think Jesus came down from heaven so you could have sushi. Like to worry, Jesus said, teach a man to make make a California roll, and he'll make rainbow rolls for life, for life, Joe, Joe, here's what happened. Look at the sushi was fishing night. Seaweed is the one the night before the spaghetti incident, the gravy incident or whatever that it was Christmas Eve, same exact thing happened. Well three years in a row. Now, we've been doing sushi because my mother's like, you know what, I make all this food. I cook for hours and nobody eats it. So I'm like, you know what, my sisters like, I like sushi, my brothers like, I'm like sushi. I like sushi. We all love sushi. So like, if we all could agree that the whole family love sushi, let's freaking get the best sushi restaurant in Brooklyn. Boom. We'll do some take out and that's Christmas Eve. So my seven fishes. Uh, you know, yellow tail shrimp. Okay, Italian? Now you know what that you I might have to your Italian card might get renewed, because that's that's Honestly, I've never I come in touch with a lot of Italians. I'm forty one of years old at this point. I've met a lot of Italian people. This is the first time I'm ever hearing that bullshit that legally I got could take a back to his head. No one, but you know what he's actually he's doing in defense. It defense because you know, I gotta hear. I'm like an arbitrator. He's got a loophole and he's got one hell of aholes because it's still fishes. How did you spend the holidays? Where'd you go? I did? Uh? My sister's houses. I do, Yeah, I do my sister's house and my my uncle does. Every year we go down to Uh. He has all his grandkids in his basement, still same basement, big family. I go there for the even then for the day I opened my sister's house. Okay, was it? What was it like? Was it a spectacle? Very much spectacular? A lot of fun, A lot of fun, kid a lot of kids. Well they're older now. I kne him since they were little on the bridge between I'm the youngest of fifteen grandkids and then his twenty seven grandkids the next generation underneath. So I'm the bridge. I'm the youngest in the fifteen so I you know, the Arizona people driving on me in tuxedos. So that's the that's the one. So I'm close with all of them growing up. But now they're all like adults. Like the youngest one now was like seventeen seventeen grandkids. There was fifteen grandkids. I'm the youngest. Yeah, okay, but that you all have kids. Now we all have kids. So how many great grandkids on that? So the the great grandkids there's wud be he My uncle's got twenty twenty two on it just his now you don't know? Yeah, names, yeah, I can throw them. They're all Joe and Anthony, right, I just gotta there's one. There's one cousin if you get her names sometimes okay, who can be an arbitrated for me because your name is Joe. He's another one we had a problem with. Tell him what you set out of? Hold on? Tell him what your parents names are, Tony and Rosanne, right, good Brooklyn Italian names. His name is Anthony, My sister is Jennifer, Jennifer whatever. His brother's name is Stephen. That's weird. V. You don't know how many Italians names Stephen with the pH Wow, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, but not Stephen. Yeahs from what comes from the Italian? Something's wrong. He's like, no, it's an Italian name. Stephen's not. Steve is a Jewish name, which, by the ways, religion on a nationality. I totally get that, but it's not. It's not an Italian name. Yeah, I don't, Yeah, I don't. I don't. I want to put Steven in. What else do we need Joe to settle? That's it. I think we agree with settling. I'm gonna name my son. I wanted to name my son Dr Danger von Gatto. My wife wouldn't let me to do it. What about he's a doctor automatically great pick up blind in the boss? What's what's your middle name? My middle name is danger and his last name is Von Gatto, so he's like royalty but there, how could you name him the third even though he wasn't just to go off all out Dr Von I could do it well. I I didn't want to name him Joe because I'm Joe Gatto, you know, as you know, my father was uh, my father was always Joe growing up, and I was always Joey. But my sister just had a kid recently three years old now, and she named him jose what they call him Joey. So I was like, I don't want that to Joey's's annoying by the way, throwing out all stereotypes here. Yeah, so my so, my I was gonna name Steve. What am my na? My my my so? My father would my wife's dude date was August second, and my my dad's birthday was a July. I was like, okay, so he's born on my father's birthday. I have to name him Josephatto, I said, but I'm the only named Ghatto. Feel let me make his middle name Mystery. So he'd bet Joseph Mystery Ghatto And she's like, why it's so I could still say, you know when he's in the bar when he's you know, twenty one years old, and some girls picking up a girl like, my middle name is mystery. He could pull out thedeed, it's real. Why couldnt you My middle names hung like a horn? It's right here on my driver. That's a comedian, you know. It's like I said, I said, let's say. I said, we do what we do it. So so my wife's like, I don't want to do it. I said, that's the only way I'm doing it. We're doing it. She agrees to it. So on the twenty we wake up on like, how you feeling? How you feel? Like I can feel boy? Right, So she goes, she goes to bed. She's going to bed, and the baby's really really given a lot of activities, like he's gonna he's gonna do it with with the bust. I'm gonna have a Joe Mystery ghatto. And he was born on thirty first. So we went with Remington. Hold on my apologies. He go, he goes, my Remo doesn't his first name is Remonton. His name is Remonton, mcm remo. That's fine, yeah, Redmanton's geting beat upright, Well, I want the one of a razor when he went older. When he went old, when he gets older, I wanted to have the opportunity to be like Remonton Gatto when he's meeting somebody who points not Remo Gatto, but growing up will be Remo Remington. Gatto is like Anthony Goldstein. They don't go together. Yeah, the Gatto comes in, it's like, you know, yeah, but he also I put a Joseph in the middle, like a r J. If he wants r J Gatto give him out. That sounds like he's got plenty of sounds like a mafia lawyer. Remo. He's a little fatch up too. He's huge. He's like a ninety percentile I don't know where, Like my father was six three, big guy, so I think he got that gene. How's he doing? By the way, he's doing great. He's five months old now five months? Is colloquy? Is he He's great. He's much better than my daughter. By the way, we sep what does colloquy mean? Just purpose? He doesn't kids scary, only knows limited things about children you don't operating for, so he'll only use and ask questions on it. Like he'll like if you see something on television about space, so, oh that's a rocket four, isn't it. Yeah, that's me with sports hates that. I don't know anything about sports, right, so I'll know like with the big play that happened or whatever, like the Steelers just lost. You Sal's a huge Steelers fan, and I'm like, oh man, that secondary huh, Like yeah, man, that's doing for years. Just like little bits and little faces. Anybody with a kid under a year old, he'll go, so, yeah, that's it, that's a good how's sleeping? That's it? You know, you look like you're interested, you don't really care. That's like he's like type of sent of all kids. Yeah, college, let's get the colleque one stun the left and the non collicues that are right. It's like he doesn't know anything about pets, so he hates animals. Fel like hey boy, and then he does he doesn't. You should play the game we play whenever we meet a dog out in public. We always had these games like in real life where we just mess around all the time. We always ask every time in a whole life, and it's made his way of the show when people ask us where something something is you know where I had to get to thirty four gets up you asking the left. No matter what, no matter who it is, no matter who you're around, it's up your ass to the left. So it's worked its way because when we're in the show, we're in the park with a clipboard, people think with somebody, they'll be like, oh do you know on the TV show like, it's up your ass to the left, and we have a whole montage and putting the TV show. Another game we play is whenever we meet a dog and we're together, we have to say, oh, what kind of breed is it? Oh? Yeah, and how are it ships? And you have to ask how big it ships? On? And we do it and it draws people off sometobody like oh pretty, They're like, oh you know it's a multis how's it ships? And they're like what good? And then you do this we get hands big just like trying to guess how big? Wait minute, that was an episode that was just on. We threw it into something I fall asleep to you guys. Every we have that effect on people. Show comes on on on Saturday night. After Saturday night, Lie, there's nothing on and on Sunday nights. If if John Oliver is not on, there's nothing on and I can't sleep, So I put on True TV and I go, I'll fall asleep to these guys. I probably saw the episode, but inevitable. It's from six years ago and every minute of it. So I can't sleep. You got if you get a penny every time it's on you only this fucking thing. He's on like twenty seven episodes, So I would say the whole time we were on vacation, I'm up every frigging night because we don't get up in the morning. We're off for two weeks. Every night. This is how boring my life is. I'm falling asleep to the Joker always. And one of the episodes was was it was foul? I was asking something about you had them? He was one of those like you had to ask him whatever you say. I bet you some of these people at first they're thinking like, Okay, did I hear that? Yeah? First it's always you have to repeat it. That's great, Yeah, that's awesome. Dude's still fun after all these years, still doing it. Yeah, it's crazy. Season seven now seven, actually, oh, we could promote this, although when does this come out, this is today, this is now. Yes, here's my notes here. I haven't practical joker notes and I type myself. Seventh a handwritten page's fault. Uh seventh season expected to air February one. That's right there, you go. Okay, great tour information the Tenderloins dot com. Uh Tenderloins. You'll be in Cleveland, Ohio in the nineteen and then through brilliant scheduling, billion scheduling January US in the fucking winter. That seems like a nice place to visit. The wait, wait, wait until March Florida. They go south after that, so it's not all bad. They travel south to Norfolk, Virginia and Washington, d C. February one and second that'll that'll warm up, and then back to Columbus, Ohio on February three. That's my birthday. You might you might want to bring might want to bring a sweater or something there. Yeah, but from Columbus, don't we go some place? Yeah? You go to Melbourne, Florida, Florida in Augustine. So that's it. We just thought off colden. We finished strong, But what do you call? Uh? February in DC, we play the the New MGM down there National Harbor. Okay, I heard about it. It's so great. You gotta go down to Degenerate. Yeah, we were talking about Camber that is. We're in February, right, Yeah, that's my birthday right there. You know, it's funny because we were talking before we started the podcast to how I'm a degenerate gambler. Yeah, and Joe was like, yeah, me too, same. I was in I guess I was in a c over the weekend and you were there at the same time. Yeah. I got a text from Joe Gadade. I was watching your Instagram story and you're like, you know, I was there. I don't know where Scary is in life because you don't have a phone, so so he's hooken like city. That's all I know about Scared. He's at work Copoke in the Atlantic City. I texted him a swee you feeling Okay, that's why I go because you've been in the bathroom for eleven minutes in your snapchat, I would it called I almost textually the other day when I was in Hoboken, we worked at Carlos Bakery. You were at Carlos Baker for the show. Yeah, did you do a lot of stuff with Fondant. We made him say fond stop. That's awesome. So that's a future episode seven. Yeah, that's awesome. We can't wait to see that. So you guys falling asleep to it? Yeah? So do you people with the pastries and fiodels and the whole thing with Fiodel. Way, I think gets somebody. I kept aheads and say one of the first bits you guys ever did was a Ferrara's bakery and literally, yes, that's sort of coming full circle another bakery. Yeah, yeah, She'll be honest. Are you picking these locations because you want the go by? I go by desserts? Man, I'm gonna got vone from way back. I would I pick all my favorite spot if I was just like some rando off the street and then later on life I just got famous. I'm like, no, hold on a second, Hold a second, if I could just dropped his scary you wore some rando off the street? Now you famous? Check all the box. But dude, I want to do a bit of MBAs promoty gardens. I want to go back to all my my my childhood places, you know, and now, yeah, that's awesome, man, so you're call this time you pay for slice of pizza and lmb's come on. Well, you know nowadays, you know, you just you know by the way everybody has in wherever you're listening to this podcast, that local place that makes something the way they make it in the famous for it, like you know Jimmy's hot Dogs and I will only they make the hot dog that way. So there's a pizza place where we grew up in Benson's Brooklyn called Ellenb's right. They make pizza Sicilian square pie and it's sauce on top of the cheese and then they spring a little great and cheese on top. Very unique. It's been there for seventy five years and everybody knows that place as that place. Well, now I live in Jersey, which, if you're not quick on the maps, is right next to New York. All over New Jersey. Now places is selling Brooklyn style pizzazz and it's lmb's pizza. But they called Brooklyn Styles, so they don't get One of them must have worked there at some point and ripped the moment. I got two points for two things. I gotta say fuck you for ripping off Ellens and thank you I don't have to travel the Brooks. My sister just took me. My sister listen in Alpen, New Jersey, and she just is like, you want to know that's so I thought we were going. There's new place, just something called the Brooklyn Square and they make I've already been there? Have you already been? That? A guy from Brooklyn? Yeah, they used to own a pizza place. I'm stillwell yes, yeah, yeah, I talked to him all about yeah, uh nice guy podcast. My point is everyone has that place that has a unique thing that someone else starts making the pie that's your favorite pie. So everyone's making that pizza that we grew up on and calling it the Brooklyn's License. Yeah. Yeah, so you should have thought of that as pissed as I am. I'm more hungry, that's right. I was gonna a pizza here and you said I did bring pizza. Pizza. I'm come. I'm a guest. One more thing Joe and I have in common. We didn't know this. I didn't know this. Um, what are your dog's names? Simoniscotti, Tartufo and Zeppel. Oh my god, my dog's name it's nice? Yeah nice? Yeah, Yeah, that's right. Italian, and I'm like, I do that. That's right. Yeah. My wife gets to pick which ones we rescue, and I get the name of the next one, the next, the next white dog. We gext we get white dogs. He's gonna be canis great. Cans a great name for a dog. Yeah, it's great, Canal. Kathleen works with us. She's her cat's name is is Canoli. Yeah, so I don't know about that, Brodie. That's great. She got. I I a friend of oz A Melanie Glesius, you know her. She was, she's got She's got a Chihuahua name Canoli. She's like, wait, aute was not in Italian. Yeah, it was very odd choice for it. But Barrito would make your next pet should be I was gonna do Siodel. But I have three left. One is Napoleon. That's gonna be a fun one. It's gotta be. It's gonna be a real dog. One of the one one is gonna be Tortoni. Yeah, but I can't do that while Canoli around. Yeah, but Tortoni gets Cannoli turned around. I tried it. If you have a gay dog, you name him rainbow cooking. I do, I do. Uh cheesecake. I'll do straight up cheesecak. What about tiers? About I got plenty? Yeah, I'll run out of dogs before one of our interns, our intern Amy, had a question for you, So we're gonna ask you want to know what prank got the worst reaction from somebody when you tried it on them? Who's this Amy? Yeah? Yeah, she's not out there. Get live. He wanted to know who reacted the worst, like, what what person is about? The air? And season seven? Ye, Murray gets it's the first time I got physical. Really, he's wondering that. I'm like that would be when they came after that? Well, it was also a big guy. We made Murray just try to put a bra on him and he wasn't having it. Yeah, did you know that? Was he aware of the show? And then after he wasn't and he just didn't care. And it's gonna air he's blurred out. You can show his body and his voice modulated. Wow, so you're allowed you can get away with that. Then you can do that. I did a phone tap like that where I called a guy in the Bronx and I told him that the wife emailed the show and said our apartment was robbed. I want you to phone tap my husband figure something out. But he'd be great because hes high strong about it. He's he's crazy man, so great. Okay, remember the word crazy. So this is two five, it's a while ago. Through the six. I call him up and, uh, you could tell he's tough guy, right. He sent me a picture of him so I could say I saw his picture on the on the addressing huge man. So you're you're pretending you with the Robert And I said yes. So I called up. I go listen, do you think he's the one that's wrong? So this guy gets robbed and I'm like, hey, I robbed you. This guy is a shramatic experience where this dog is murdered. I'm like, hey, it's it's not my fault. You don't understand pranks. Okay, okay, so real world Okay. So I tell him, I said, listen, I'm I'm so embarrassed, but I'm the guy that was in your bottom last week. We'll keep talking about. I said, look, um, I don't want to get into details, but um, I was in your your closet in the master bedroom. And he said, what then you're talking about? I said you, well, listen, there was a box in the back with some pictures in it. Whatever I tell him, I tell him the cover of the carpeting. I convinced him that I was there. I said, I think my my, uh my wedding ring fell off in the back of your closet. Could you do me a favor? Could you go by what the are you fucking kidding me? They said, give me a favor. Please, if you find the ring in the back of your closet, I'll give you back your TV or something. I'll give you back something, right, And he's he's I'm gonna kill you. I'm gonna find you and kill you. I will find you, I'll trace this number. I'll kill you. I'm gonna kill you. So it was a great fun it was really funny, if you know. And I was skin a little worried. So so I was like, he's like, this is the wife said, calm down. He's like punching the walls. I said, OK, hey, calm down, come down. This is Dave Brody from the other Strand show. It's because, yeah, I don't give a fuck. I want to find out where you fucking do your radio show from. I'm gonna kill you. I said, no, your wife told me, Oh, you're gonna blame my wife. You think that's gonna get you, I'm gonna kill you. And he was really gonna kill me. So I had to call a wife like three hours later. She's like called me back like in a week, like I may be dead by that point. I offered him Yankee tickets, Met tickets, a hundred dollars a bill to calm him down. He legitimately was gonna kill me. I've never got a reaction like that. So when you said it's bound to happen, yeah, of course it's bound happen. But our show what our show all the difference is we we always make ourselves look like the butt of the joke. So this mood, yeah, well Marty looked like an idiot doing it. But this guy just was having a bad day. Yeah it's not his day. Bras On. Yeah all right, well listen that happens. So you know, sometimes people are on the move. Is not what we could do. So this is a great thing to look forward to in season seven, like the most physical it ever gets. Jokers there you go, alright, I want to put out two disclaimers if I can disclaims, well two things. Number one, if you have the same name as if there's another Joe Gatto that's famous, Yes, all right, now you don't have Joe Ghatto, you have Joe Underscore Gatto. Yes, right, I have David Underscore Brody because someone beat us to the punch. Do you know who the AT Joe Gatto is? Know that at Joe Gatto is a regular guy that at Joey Gatto. I'm a guy that I'm a guy with another squad. Does a YouTube star named Joey? Yeah? Yeah that people always in the beginning he should have more than beginning he was coming into Yeah. So the guy who's the guy, the guy who has AT David Brody is also famous. Now he doesn't use the at David Brodie. He doesn't use it's just sitting there. Well, I'm worrying. I'm I'm gonna tell you who he is because he's famous. I'm gonna look up that at Joe Gatto see who it is? Okay, Okay, So the guy who actually is also named David Brody, who is the other famous? David Brody is a of evangelical Christian broadcasting network host. He works for CBS. So he's the direct opposite of you. That's what I say to people. I am the direct opposite. He's a Christian conservative, and that's fine whatever you are, but that's not what I am. And so he in the last year has gotten even more famous because he's he's very close to our president. Our president has done exclusive interviews with him, uh, and he's been called on first at press conferences, and so he's doing that. He's getting more airtime. So every month or so he goes on MSNBC, CNN. If he's on Fox, I don't have a problem because people they go for him on that, But when he's on MSNBC and CNN, where it's more of a liberal audience who don't really appreciate him, I get the nastiest tweet messages. People tweet me like, you, motherfucker, how could you speak that way about immigrants? And that's not me. I go, I'm the exact opposite of him. Uh. And you know, he's fine being what you want to look. If you you like him, that's great. He's a good guy. I've tweeted back and forth with him. Good guy. We've been confused for each other for years, but I'm getting the Yesterday I spent half the day telling people that's not me because it's not that. What happens is if you search David Brody, I'm the first um uh blue checkmark verified David Brody because he uses at the Brody File, that's his TV show. So when you search for David Brody and you see it's you see it's got a check mark, you go, that must be the motherfucker I'm getting it. So yeah, I mean I got Jesus would never and awful what kind of Christian all you are? Like? Druthefully, I'm a Jew at all? So I so yeah. So here's the thing. Check who you're tweeting. Yes, if you like Joe Underscore Ghatto, make sure you're tweeting at your The other guy hasn't tweeted since uh September. Okay, my guy at David Brody hasn't tweeted since oh nine. So I think they should give up their Twitter accounts to just got a YouTube channel too. But this isn't the show. Now here's what's interesting. So the the Twitter Joe Ghatto is Joey Gatto's dad. So the famous Joe at Joey Gatto. So they took they took both my Twitter. I got double banged by the Joey Gattos son of them. They ran a trade on me more famous. But they have there, they got the Joe got under Joey's that his his thing is Joey's dad. I'm saying, why has he two? You know what I just did. I just set up a Twitter account for Remo gadda him now. So please Also, we've talked about this before. If you hear the podcast on the day we posted, you've got two days to correct me. Correct because you forget what you say. You know how much you saying today, But by the time you correct me five days later, you're the hundredth person. I don't need you to correct me. So I want to just want to make an apology to last episode, which was like a week and a half ago. At this point, whatever was I said I didn't like the kid from the Files commercial. Isn't Stranger Things? Yes, right, the kid who plays Dustin. Okay, he happens to have a lisp. Okay, but I said I didn't like him on Files. He's annoying. His character is annoying. Well, everyone's telling me that the list is an illness he has and said some birth thing, it's a defect. Whatever. I'm not making fun of the fact he's a birth defect. I would never do that. I'm saying his character is like telling the guy did you get files? He's annoying in the commercials. I love him on strange to have a lisp and be annoying in the commercial you could have a lisp and be not so okay, So we're good. Now there's another episode. I don't need to I know the name of the illness. I've been instagrammed, I've been tweeted at. Someone hit me up on my my Space page. I'm good on Dustin, I apologize no offense. Like the one day, Like the one day that I actually was I can't believe remember the day on the show I was like, I need some kind of device that I'm laying in bed and I don't hit my phone because sometimes I fall asleep the phone hit you in the face. Right, So that day I got a couple of people with, oh, this did me this awesome thing. It's a contraption which you can hang from the bed post and whatever, and it has a crane on it and you'll never have that problem again. I'm still getting those emails. Hey, scary awesome device I've got, must have gotten like five. How many of a problem was it for you? I'm like, okay, I'm still doing it. I mean, I don't know. I gotta I got a couple more things. Have you ever seen the commercial for crank Chop. It's the it's one of the you know the guy, he's the tall, skinny guy does the sham wow guy. He does a thing for crankchop. You put the vegetables in two pumps and you got a salad right, crank chop, and they got and the cord is made of parachute material. Guaranteed never to break. Comes with a tenue warranty. First of all, why want it's guarantee break? Fuck you? Second of all, they interview people on the street like I love it, right, you explain this to me. One guy says, I'm a plumber, so I have to get out of the house quick in the morning. What plumber did ever shot up to your house early? What plbody you know getting up at six cattle's gotta leak. I gotta get that fast. I don't want him to look like is it a window between twelve and four? I'm getting there at eleven. Bullshit, crank chop, I got I get a crankchop because I gotta got a house fast plumber. Like I'm a doctor, I'm an emergency agency room surgeon. But I need to get out of the house quick anything. I'm a blue guys. I don't know what's going on random TV cameras, cameras. I do not to be filled what is going on here? So there's a major, major television cameras that takes two people to run. Just like almost just comes and starts filming in the window and sign a release. We have we have joke for about ten more minutes. I've got unused jokes. Yeah, I think we should go right, and I've got my rent. So every day on the show, Brody passes Elvis jokes, and then everyone on the show right, and everybody yeah man, and then sometimes Elvis a lot of times he reads them on the air as his punchline, and then sometimes they don't get to him. Now, one more cavy. Last week I handed over as a joke that I figured if he did it, it'd be fine. But I couldn't get away with it and he laughed, and he laughed on the mic, and he showed it to Bethany and she punched me. She was laughing so hard. But we couldn't do it on the air. It was it would cost me my job. And so I said, well we talked about in the podcast. I can't do it. I can't tell the joke. So now it's been a week. You owe it to the fans. How dare you not? Why would you bring it up? I apologize, I have a wife and kids. I'm not reading the joke. It wasn't so funny. It's worth risking my career and that you guys need to stress about it. But here's some new ones we didn't get. These are unused punch lines, ones that got kicked back to Brodie. They're not all classics. But anyway, we were talking about getting milk delivered in the milk bottle and glass bottles. I said, well, if you have milk delivered in the glass bottles, how are you gonna find the missing kid? Uh? We were talking to we were talking on the show about things you've only done once since I'd never do it again. So Elvis said, had sex with a woman once, never did it again and then he goes, oh, also skiing, I said, I the joke was skiing and having sex a woman. They both have one thing in comment, they both have bunnet trail. Then we did a joke about a woman who called in and said, have you ever changed the name of your kid after they were born? Like you might want to rethink remote. Let me just a kid. You have six months, no charge. You can renamed the kid. You got a month left about okay? So a woman called up and she says, well, we named the kid Junior. And then as the kid got like a month old, we realized he was much darker than his father. They did a DNA test and it's not the kid's kid, not the guy's kid. So he didn't want the kid to be like Joe Jr. It's not his kids. They changed the name, so she hung up before we found a new name. So I wrote some names that could the kid could have been Bastard Junior. He wouldn't do that joke. And one night stand. He wouldn't do that night stands it's awesome, didn't that joke? Uh? Danielle did a story last week about Lindsay Lohan being on an island. She bought her on island and she's done, And I said, if it's Lindsay Low and hopefully there won't be any cars on the island. Too soon, too soon, too late, exactly like we did. We did a story about Walmart closing thirty nine Sam's clubs nationwide, so that my joke was watch out for falling gates. That shot he didn't do that. Now, this one he didn't do. I thought it'd be perfect Almus, this is this is my favorite one we didn't do. He said he had a dream last night about having sex with Abraham Lincoln. So I said, really in the dream, was he a top hat or bottom? That's correct? Top hat? On New Lines? So sing on in practical jokers, same thing. Do you guys have some things that you pitch don't go through? And it's more like when it happens because a lot of his improv on set. So if somebody walks in, should watch the show scary when somebody walks in you yeah, yeah, So stuff that we saw it doesn't air because I get people look in and we're just trying to make each other laugh. That's have you finished filming the whole season? So you have one more episode. At some point you have to have a baby challenge and a baby I'll call it baby colleague. No, but there has to be some things that don't make it. Yeah, like this old lady that we did a pharmacy game once and this old woman came in and she needed help and Q was on Q was on the floor, and you need help to find something. So he's walking around like he would I find something. And then we were like, we just started making she's almost dead jokes and we went on this like Grant like better hurry up, you know, times a whole stuff like Harry have come on. We're done this whole thing. And we were crying and laughing about like making these old jokes that not not on that whole footage. The whole fudge is gone. But we were just we were crying laughing. That's your version of unused exactly the way. But they do unused episodes. They hooked me into those two. Wait what, Well, we have a lot of content that doesn't make TV for because either time or anything, so little put it in specials and so we have we have so much content we go through. I mean we're filmed for like you know, three or four hours, and I don't even know my youngest daughter's name because I'm watching this episodes speaking of my youngest daughter. I gotta at a problem Saturday night. Okay, So I get to take my youngest out and it's just us, daddy daughter. Now, whatever you do that, I'm giving a little advice. Everybody looks at you like you're a divorce. Father always got the oh, he has his daughter with him. I hope you're having a nice You're one day with her? No, I have her every day. Okay. So we go out to a theme restaurant. Scary hates when I go to theme restaurant. He cause you get what you asked before you get your paper. So we go to we go on. I'm gonna take you the name of the place, all right, but they screwed up my order and it rhymes with that word. Okay. So we get there right and we sit down. We get a booth, no problem, youse, call ahead service. It's all going smoothly. My wife says, I'm never going there again. They always have. They always screwy thing up. I saw it. I'll take my daughter. I have her. My wife has had. You have the kids, for some other thing I'm taking to day. We're gonna go. They'll make the food or something whatever they served there. All right, So the waiter comes over and my daughter and I ordered the same thing. It's gary. What do we drink? Diet coke? No ice? There you go, I said. My daughter says, I'm a die coke now ice. I'm so proud of us. She ordered by yourself. He says, we're out of diet coke. What You're a major restaurant out of diet coke. Yeah, we're out of out of syrup syrup. I go, well, there's only syrup and seltza. You only have seltza. That's not soda. I said, well, you man. You says you have coke zero. I give me a coke zero. We were out of the coxio. You're out of coke zero. In a major restaurantut of diet coke and coke zero, I'll eat barritos and cheese and natos and sausa. I gotta cut back somewhere. How are you out of diet soda? He says, I give you a dope beverage for the same price. Oh great, my daughter will take a fucking corona that's gonna help me. So they said, you know what, just give me water. I'll take water, no problem, He's okay, fine. They bring the chips and salsa. The salsa is hot. You can't eat it because there's nothing to drink. My daughter. My daughter says, I'll be all right, takes the chip. Now mounts on fire. I can't find the waiter. He's not getting me soda, he's not getting me water, he's not getting me anything. So I'm sitting there starving, eating, I'm eating playing chips or no sealsic and on my mouth to burn. Finally shows up with the water. Okay, so crisp, Yeah, what ice? I'm okay. If while he's gone, I remembered I was a Target and I bought six packs and diet coke. So while I'm waiting for him to bring my water, I go out to the trunk. I get three bottles of diet coke and I put him on the table. I give one to heart one me, and we're drinking bottles of diet coke. He comes back goes, oh, you got ty coke? Okay, as if some other waiter brought me bottles of diet coke, he said doesn't say to me, hey, witch, get tye coke. He says, oh, you got tyet coke, Like that's normal that you don't have diet coke and I just happened to have it. Oh, you did your job. You got ty coca A your no problem? Like that's normal. Like he's got diet coke bottles at the at the bar and someone else was sporting to me. Yo, yeah, I went to my trunk and got it because I thought I was going out to eat. But I'm getting food out of my trunk. You believe you sailgated. You didn't go off the dinner. When you see when you see Brody coming, you flip that side. So we placed the order. My order orders the kids meal, which comes with a soda. So I said, listen, she's not getting a soda. So you're gonna take something off the bill you and charge your full price for the kids meal. Here's what do you mean? You go, well, the kids will include a soda. You don't have a soda. You're at a diet coca. Well, I'll talk to my manager. That sounds like a great idea. So he says, uh, you want to appetizes. I said, now, the sauce and chips. Is fine out that we have something to drink. We're good. We placed the order. I order um, a dinner that has one of the mistake beans of your choice. I want a black bean black What what? I just fly here from from a ship whole country? Okay, so hello, so it could be ship house. It depends how it's all up in the air. So uh. And I ordered the burritos no onions because they're cheese and onions right and a lots whatever they are. I see no onions. I don't want onions. You know me with onions. I hate onions, not as much I hate scallions. What you're an onion, but I hate those green motherfucker. Scion tries to pass itself off his vegetable food onions like I'll melt. I'll be all right, No fuck you, gallion. Listen, when you catch up on all the podcast, you'll hear my scion right anyway, So I'm drinking my bottle of soda now. People will look at me as I'm walking by with the diet coke like I had gold in my hands. They were like, you know, every other fat guy in the restaurants, like where'd you get the diet coke? Like angels are singing, I'm like, fuck you, pal, They're five dollars a bottle out of my trunk if you want them. So the food comes and I'm like, there's no black beans on my plate. Some guy ran the food right, I'm going wait a minute, there's no beans on the plate. I go to the onions in the ngelatas so I tell you, I, hey, listen, can you get the waiter? Something wrong? The thing comes back. He guse, what's up? He said, Uh, I told the first guys no black beans. He goes to get the black beans. He comes back to back beans and goes, onions in here. I wrote it with no onions. I'm polite about it. He's I'll get your way. Way. It comes over. He says, oh, what's up? There's onions in the uh So he says, I told them they always passed the buck, always passed. I'm not tipping them. I'm tipping you, okay. So he says, all right, I'll get you new ones because this way, throw me a bone. He goes, you can keep those, you take those home, goes on the house. Yeah, it's all good because my family wants to eat, They'll picked over fucking burritos with the onions in them that I didn't want to eat, and I fucking picked the cheat. No, okay, thanks man, that's good. See he brings out the new enchilades or whatever. Then they no, no, but the ones that are on my plate have melted cheese beautiful over the top. Right. The ones he brings me has like a sprinkle of cheese like your grandmother was giving out the cheese and her hands were shaking, like grandma, what's wrong? And my hands are shaking and the cheese isn't melted. I open, I go to cutting up and the cheese inside is like a slice of craft American. It's not melting at all. So at this point I'm like, my wife was right, my kids foods okay. But I'm like, this is well, you know what I'm thinking, scary podcast podcast, right, this is just Saturday night, forget about every other night. Every night. So when it comes back and I'm you know, he said, how is everything? I go, well, you know, the remake it's you know, cold and whatever, I said, I blame him. Why is he coming back? He knows everything? Okay, So I said Hey, remember those refried beans you offered me and you said they'd be coming out with the meal because I said it couldnt bring him as advertize to come to me. You never brought those either, And he says to me, oh, the guy was supposed to bring it out. I go, what, guy? You're my weight the guy? Why are you blaming the guy You're supposed to make sure it comes up. You're the one. I didn't ask for him, have you had? You said to me, Hey, since you wait and I didn't have soda, would you like some re fried beans on the house. I said, Oh, I wasn't gonna have her, but sure, since you offer him, I have him. But then you don't bring him any time me the guy is supposed to bring him. Well, maybe the guy should be my way. Well he he knows you're a sourceful guy. You ended up with diet coax. Yeah, so he figured you're gonna go get some beans out in my piso. Not Joe, do you ever get into arguments like this ever? Family restaurants, family dining? No, what do you do? What? What how do you handle this? I'm not done? My God, play the music back, So I has to speak to the manager. So he goes and gets the manager. The manager comes out. I see him across the dining room. He stops for a minute and he's talking to the bus boy about something, and he's got a he's got a piece of paper in his hand. It's half like a slice a sheet of paper, and he's showing the bus boy something. And I'm looking. I'm going show the bus boy, but I need you. I'm having a problem. That's the manager. He's on his belt, thin tie, typical fast food manager. I got no problem with that. Guy's trying to make a living. No problem. He finishes talking to the guy who's sweeping the floor at that time. He takes the paper and throws it on the floor for a kid to sweep up. And I go, that motherfucker who hasn't been that bus boy. The guy could have taken the paper and walked into the garbage pail. He had to walk by the chip station to get to me. That's what a garbage pail is. So he goes, yes, sir, what seems to me the problem? I go, you might want to have a seat, and I have him sit down at the boo. To me, I said, did you know you're out of diet coke and coke zero, because that's how my meals started off. And he says, yeah, nobody wanted to change the box, so they told you they're out of it. I'm terribly sorry. Oh, you're terribly sorry. I bought the sauda Is from Target and I drank my old sudas and they're not bottom lest I had to go back to my trunk for another soda. He says, I'm terribly sorry. Wait, I didn't tell you about the ranch alout his So I talk about the onions and the free fried beans I never got and the cheese that wasn't melted. He goes, sir, I'm so sorry. I can't charge you for this. It's on me tonight free. So who's the winter des Before you ask? I gave the guy a tip. I'm glad you did. I said, don't be a waiter. How do you handle situations like this? Not like that? I just freaking walk out. I would walk out ice. By the way, why do you stand around like this? Why do you hang around?
