Speaker 1: Start Up Up, Brooklyn Boy, Start Up Brooklyn Boy episodes. They make a noise data up episode. I like talking over the music I'm talking over I wrote it. I feel like you want to wait for the instrumental part. Let's be a d J. I don't want to be a d J. I want to be the host, so do I. But at the same time, I mean, there's the one chance we have to act like DJ in the beginning of the podcast, and we're acting like DJ's fall, which is like, do you think corporate's listening? Go on, let's give these guys the show. Oh they talked over the talk over the instrumental part and not the vocals. Okay, if you and I ever get a real show, you're gonna be the DJ guy who pushes the buttons and I'm gonna sit here and be funny. Okay, Well, is now how real life works anyway? Isn't that what you're That's what I'm saying. All right, So it's episode. It's Broken Boys podcast. I'm Scary Jones. David Brodie, that's David Brodie. Uh. We didn't have an episode last week, so apologies. Yeah, I had the flu sinus infection death virus from Monday through Thursday. From Friday the previous week, I went home and got sick saw throat Friday, Saturday. Then Sunday I started getting dizzy, headaches, fluey. I told you I wasn't gonna be in Monday and it inspiral. How many boxes of Kleenex did you go through? Uh? Not zero? We're talking about what we're talking about. For the nose, No, you know what I used? It got so bad. I used a hand towel. Oh my god, that's how bad it was because you get out of bed and the tissues were getting abrasive on my nose and I was going through tissues so fast. I think trying to save money. You're dick. I'm not cheap. I'm clever. Your fruit not. You know what, Why wouldn't you use a dish towel or something like I'm saying. That's how bad. Between the coughing and the spitting up and the awfulness, it was terrible. How many people do you lose just there? Yeah? Anyway, you can always eat me us at the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. Oh, we've got a lot of email. Good and I want to thank a lot of people who were like, hey, we heard on the show that you're out sick, and it wished me well, and they were very kind to me and sliding into my d M s and tweeting it at me, and so we came back. He came back on Friday. We thought we were going to do the podcast on Friday, and then there was no studio space. For as you if you didn't see the video, it's on Instagram, well it's it's on and then it lives on at the Brooklyn Boys on Instagram, and it also lives on our face right right. We went from studio to studio, and we went was at one two, three, four studios, five, Ronnie's one two, three four five and then Carries is not a studio, so five studios. Yeah, so yeah, So we just had no space to do it. But and you know that'll happen from time, and to be quite honest, I was under the weather still on Friday. Saturday. I felt great, went out for dinner from my early birthday because my birthdays does that count? By the way, I'll take it. I'll take it. So if I forget tomorrow, it's okay, because I wish you can't forget tomorrow, your birthdays four days after mine. Just try to remember that. Okay, all right, I'll try remember. Never forget. You're going to set a reminder. Yeah, So we went out to dinner, felt great. Woke up Sunday My head felt like it was gonna explode again. Terrible pain, sinus pain. Every you wake up with your head on fire and your eyes too bloody to see. Yeah, very good, pretty much, pretty Billy Joe, check it out. So but how you may be right? How you feeling now? I feel a little, a little dizzy. That's all right. I'll be up for the rants. If there are any's gonna get worse, goes on, It's only gonna get more dizzy. So yeah, so we we have a lot of ground to cover. Um unused jokes for two weeks now at least that's it can be extra long segment and oh um, and we might see I don't want to promise it because we don't know if we're gonna get to it. But I wanted to two podcasts this week for them, all right, Well if we do a second one, because we owe them. We owe them from dude, my favorite with people on Twitter saying, hey guys, what is the pockets hashtag free free dessert right back in your face. Bro, that's right. They free deserted me. Yeah they did. Oh we didn't get what we wanted free dessert. So I'll tell what your free dessert is gonna be. My mom is going to call in on the next episode whatever that is, and tell you her story how she got free dessert. I'm so proud of her. Was it was it actual free dessert? No, no, it was it was hashtag free dessert. Yeah. You know a company, a big company tried to screw over. She got him on the phone. She'll tell you, I don't want to give it now. I'm gonna need your help with free dessert at some point, I don't know. You know. Bobby Flay and we talked about this on we talked us on The Big Show. By the way. By the way, for the record, I've gotten free deserted Bobby Flame's restaurants. You have, Yeah, I've gotten gift cards that well, that's the problem. I have a gift card. He had a very popular restaurant in Midtown called Bar American and it was it was it was for several years. It was a beautiful restaurant. He had a closet. Uh, and I have a one dollar gift card to that restaur on. So I'm thinking, like, what the fun? How am I gonna how okay? Now, now it doesn't say like usable at all, Bobby Flames, No, no, no, call tram On Frare. It's uh, it's only good at Bar American. He's not like, it's not like the gap where it's interchangeable. You can use it at Macaroni Grill and Chili's and whatever else. They like Old Navy to get. No, no, no, no, this is just for Bar American. So how would you buy a gift card to a restaurant? It was a long story. It was for my parents to kick it back to me. It was a Christmas gift and and I've had it for about a year and gifted it back to you. They just gave it back to me. They didn't want it. They're like, we're never gonna go there. Your parents aren't. Aren't Bar Americans kind of people? I thought they after go seeing a show that you know on Broadway, they would go to Junia's Cheesecake. Well the problem with this is now I'm not gonna eat the hundred dollars what happens when a company goes out of business, and they had for bigger companies that go out of business, there's a window of opportunity where they will accept your gift card. I've had this. I can't remember where it was when there is no window because you look in the windows and the lights are out there closed. No, I understand that they need to honor that. Now, usually there's a there's a law firm or an executor. There's some company that handles the assets. They're gonna sell the kitchen equipment, they're gonna sell things off. Somebody's handling that transition for Bobby. So you think there are a lot of people in the same boat as I am. They're like, well, hello, I have a gift card on spend. I would make it a bit on the radio, or I would I would, I would, I would have someone else. We all have Bobby's number and can call I'll call him right now. He's gonna be mad at you. He doesn't want to. You can people. I have a cell phone number two, but he hasn't one here from us where his boys I know where his boy Yeah. I don't think we should blindside him with that because He's not gonna give a hundred bucks out of his pocket, but what's the solution? And I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people that are listening. I'm sure. Now he's gonna say to you, when did you buy the gift card. You're gonna say three years ago, and he's gonna say, why didn't you use it? But in the last three years. Then he's gonna point out how many free meals you got there, or he's gonna go, let's call it even so, I think, what maybe you do, as you say to him, I have a listener who has a problem because they have a gift card. They don't maybe we could, you know, help. What do we tell the list No, it's yeah, no, no, listen, he doesn't he gonna have your brother call your brother with the non Italian name. All right, we could do with something to think about. I think I think that that he that they should they reimburse people, or you know what you should do. I think we should call another one of his restaurants, another one. Why don't you call? What does he have left? He's got got lost? That place? That place was leaking. I went there for dinner with the ceiling was leaking. That these are classic places, was but it leaked on my table and to move me twice. The pipe was leaking. The food was great, got this, The caesar salad wedge was fantastic. Okayway, so why don't we call Gato or Bobby's Burger Palace and ask him if the coupon, if the gift cards are valid at those stores? Considering I'm going to do that now why I'm on the podcast. It's new and issue. We should call now. I just called Goto, called called Gato. You got to called Gato. Okay, I want to see if if you'd like, I'll use my free dessert voice and I'll talk to him. Yeah, alright, let's call Gato right now. I hope Bobby's not going to be offended. Would be offended because God, I was going to tell you right now, absolutely, come on in. You think so? No, I got because I don't think so. You want to place a wager on Lea No, big man, I'm you're calling I am all right? Okay, Okay, we called Gato right now. I can't believe we're doing this. Let's go. I'm up on the board. Gotto called Gato there you go. The new phone system we have here, yea, are you gonna talk? I'm I gonna talk? How do you dial? Oh? Here it is nine? It's not working. How do you call this? How do you use this? Freaking use the hand set? Right, I don't know if I can use this? Use the handset? Oh? Oh, I see it's everything is digital? And how we try this one more time? Hold on a second. God, maybe if we get our own show, I'll run the board. This is awkward, isn't it though? It doesn't dial until you're done dialing. It's so weird. I don't think we've ever tried to downline before on the new phone system. Terrible. That noises killing me. Here it is talking a my talking, I could talk. We can both talk. People could get into the world of free dessert. Hear me? Do it? You're my brother. I gave you the gift card. Should we call its lovers? Are they open yet? No? Probably they're a dinner place. That's right there. Burger Palace would know, but they accept preservations and got to This is Simon speaking. I gonna help you, Hi, Simon, how are you? I'm excellent? Good listen, um, I have a gift card here that I've given to my brother who's here with me. UM. I had given him a hundred ALLAR gift card to Bar American. UM, and I know you guys closed that location. Yeah, we'd be happy to honor that downtown. You would, yes, sir? Wow? Okay, okay, because I didn't my brother wasn't sure if that would be the case. So so anything, so if I have a Bar American gift card, I can use it totally at Kato. That is fantastic, That's awesome. It's Bobby there, by the way, at this moment, he is not okay, never really know what he's in a poppin Okay, good, Okay. I hope he's there in cooking the day that I use my gift card. Fingers crossed. He's around here a lot. Is it true? I read this in page six? Is it true he sometimes works in the kitchen with no shirt on? Is that true? I currently shouldn't be coming anything that happens on page six, but I don't. I don't think that one's true. I've here a lot, I've I've never seen the stuff with this shirt on to see they've got a great penny, all right, thank you so much. See they go, people step up. That's very nice. That's how polite was. Hey, let me tell you he hires the right people personnel because he probably he probably pays them. Well. This is my problem with some of the establishments that you go to, Brodie and a lot of times, you know, a lot of the places that you find that you need to get free deserve it at because they did something wrong and they screwed up your steak or whatever. It's because they don't have the they're not paying great wages to these kids or people, Okay, so they so therefore they feel like they can do lesser. Okay, job this guy right here, well seasoned, well treating guy. Probably he's probably making a decent salary, of course. But here's the thing. I went to, uh for my birthday last year. We went to a moderately expensive, well known Anish restaurant. Okay, they packed up are to go waters and accidentally throughout my kids steaks. My kids both had the kid's steak and they had like half of it. They threw out the two steaks and they threw out by accident that was left. They packed up the shrimp and the cut whatever else were so when we got home, half our meal was missing. They threw it out. It took me two weeks to get a refund because they said did you go? But where did you go? I'm not gonna name names, but so it was a family chain. No, it's not a family change. I went to a nice rest I just told you restaurant. But when you what's your definition of nice? What's I know what nice means? Your puts it was a nice restaurant. I don't know there's a gat rating. My point is it's a very expensive seafoodod it's like a hundred and fifty a couple. Maybe it's nice enough. Well, then they got that person out. There's mozzarella sticks is an appetizer. They got to fling them out on their ear. Then they don't deserve to be working at a place like the bus boys throughout. By the point is it happens everywhere. I've got to expensive restaurants where they didn't treat me right, or I've I've seen people have a problem with with with something that went on. Let me tell you, Bobby, Bobby knows. Bobby knows how to train his staff. And that was the most cordial phone call ever, that was like, we didn't even plan that. I was kind of afraid to do that. I'm gonna know that you were on a restaurant on the level of Bobby Flay's restaurants. You're gonna get a guy who's gonna do the um And I'm sure we're not the first people to call about did she Grammy's last night? By the way, I did see the well, I saw what they wanted me to see. That's what I saw. That's the problem. The Grammys are like two days long. Do you know that there was an entire ceremony the day before? It was like a five. I want to watch that? What I don't want to watch now? We work at a pop radio station. Our show is on pop music radio stations on the country. I love pop music. I love it, don't get me wrong, talk pop music. But every category last night, except for the hip hop categories, there was one country Best Country Album, right, and then it was all pop, all five nominees in the Best Record, Best Song, Best Album, all pop, with like a hip hop thrown in. Where's the rock categories? There was not one rock award given on television last night, right, and the only woman and don't tell me Rihanna, she's featured on Kendrick Lamars song. She didn't, she didn't win the award. Kendrick where the only woman that won an award last night in the in the Year of the Woman was a Lessia Cara, who I like very much, but who who hit the scene in fifteen. Well, okay, that's what that was My problem with the Grammys was the only woman they could find to win an award should have won last year or the year before. Yeah, he's not a new artist. Lesia Carra has been around. She had this song here in the spring of We've had we had it up in September, right, and in the summer of sixteen she had a top ten album, which means in January eight in January, it's a record in January of seventeen, she should have been up for Best New Artist. Well, everybody else in the category was a new artist. I said the same Jilia Michaels is a new artist. Yes, so left I said the same thing. I said on Twitter yesterday that she should have won Best New Artists because that would have reflected the year. But apparently someone some someone who does all their homework on Grammys tweeted me and said that that the R I A A or whatever. The Grammys, the people that people that make those decisions, they consider a Best New Artist a new artist as anyone who is um if you have released under x amount of singles, like six or seven singles, and apparently she was under the threshold. She only released five to the date. That's ridiculous. It is ridiculous because it really screws people like Kaleid. That's like saying your you can still be rookie the year in baseball if you have less than five hundred at bats for your career, but you had a hundred and fifty at bats for four years, and then by the fourth year, they go, you're rookie the year. Well, she changed the rules, changed the rules, she changed the rules. She's not a new artist. She's not a new artist. I was so angry about it. I was so and we're not are we're not. Are we not counting her song with Zed because it was Zed song. She's still an artist on it right? Just awful. Anyway, She's had two tours already. I know, I know she should have won last year two years ago. So if she didn't win this year, then no women would have gotten an award, right, So you're saying in the Year of the Woman, there were no women on stage, no women on I mean they performed. Gaga was great, Pink was fantastic. Patti lapaul and blew the doors off the place. I don't even know who she was until last night. He was the lead. He was the lead performer, among a million other things in in Um Cry for Me Argentina in that play. Yet, well, my mom had to educate me. She was Oh my god, Patty Lapone is Broadway Royalty. Donna played her, didn't she. Yeah, well it's nice. It's it's like a from a bygone era, Patty Lapon. You know, it's the most embarrassing moment. No one we didn't talk about this today, either on the show or none of none of us said anything when Tony Bennon would Bennett wouldn't get out of the way or he of we know he absolutely So Tony Bennett goes up there with Um with with John Legend. They do a little New York New York, you know, a little crooning, and then they present the award and Kendrick Lamar wins with Rihanna Kendrill Lamar was embarrassed. He was like laughing because Kendrick, because because Tony Bennett just stat there, like sat there like a statue and stared into the camera but wouldn't move away from the microphone. And then Kendrick said something I don't remember what it was. It was a really urban term about somebody in his life. Was like, it wasn't like he's my real o G or my real g. He said something like that, like about a friend of his whatever. The new updated version of that eight and and and so Ben it was like yeah, like it was like going along with it, like yeah, but the thing was like like if you look like Kendrick looked over at him and smirked almost as if like serious, you still, how did you legend not grabb him by the arm and let's let's get out of here. You're in the shot. And then and then then Rihanna steps in front of him, she walks around the back of him and then does a little and blocks him out of Canada. Rihanna had some big heels on, so she was like six five, and his hair was great, it was big, it was good. So if you look back at this video, you got you got uh Rihanna and and um yeah, but but Rihanna towered over, but so so. Tony Bennett was like kind of behind off with Kendrick Lamar. She had been down, she blocked out. I was just very funny. I don't know if people. Is he okay? Is he right? No, he's late eighties. Yeah, but he should know the one line and the Grammy goes to, yeah that was it and sing new York, New York. You remember that he knew. Yeah, he knows the lyrics. I don't know, maybe he has a touch of dementia something. Maybe he's just you know, maybe he's just eight seven whatever he is, Yeah, he's Tony Bennett. But yeah, But overall, I thought it was a great show, minus the fact that we were missing uh more of a female presence, and we were missing and I feel like, without angering anybody and angry people, I feel like Bruno Mars writes really good pop songs. He right right right into the belly of the beast. That's another thing. I really think they fucked jay Z. That's another thing. I feel like. I feel like Bruno Mars is very talented. You know. I like Bruno. I like his music. I feel like writing pop songs that sounds like seventies pop songs where you when you slightly changed the beat right slightly. That's in his red wheelhouse sign. That is that is Bruno Mars and he's great. They're very catchy songs. But to me, song and Record of the Year should be impactful, epic songs. Well, song of the Year is a is a lyric awards, so it's one of the years for the writers, the writer and record of the years for the artist and the producers and and the mixers. But he got both, which is a rare feat by the way, you get both just for me And again nothing against Bruno, who again I can't say anymore. I like him. I felt like logic song, you know it's or Kesha's song. I felt like this year of women in the Me Too movement, Kesha went through so much. Her song is so well written and powerful. To me, that's a song of the year. Logic song, that's a song of the year. To me, Bruno was like the catchy pop song, but it wasn't like you're gonna remember that song five years from now, You're not. It's a it's a danceable, fun pop song, but to give him Album of the Year and regular Year and Song of the Year. Much problem is there's no rock bands worthy. There was no imagine Dragons couldn't get nominated for something, and there were no rock bands. All the rock awards food Fighters won, uh Portugal, they and one they didn't for for duo or group. Yeah, but they didn't show any of that. It was all off camera, so it was basically like watching up Pop Awards, which is if you like pop, that's great. But they they're trying to go for ratings at this point. It's just a TV shock. Fans watch TV, I know, but it's just a TV show and they want mainstream America. I'm sorry, that's what they wanted to do. That's the two show they put on. That's the show that they wrote. And it's okay, all the rest of you get your award, uh yesterday, put it up on your mantles. In this country. In this country, country music isn't big enough to they got one award. Yeah, they weren't nominated for Album of the Year camera on camera. That's what I'm saying. On the episode that album country album of the Year. I mean they utilized country artists for a couple of things. They had two country songs that the im Memorium and jay Z by the Way again fucked a tribute to the Manchester and Vegas shootings. Country artists. I just felt like they should have been represented more as well. J Z was was nominated for eight awards, didn't win one, didn't win one, didn't win one award. How do you not give the guy an award something? Listen, he put himself out there on this one. He wore his emotions on his sleeve. It was all out there. This was like the answer album to the to the Beyonce stuff, the cheating scandal and all of us. I think a lot of people wanted to hear what he was gonna say because he's in a feud right now. He's in a he's in a Twitter feud with the president. But still and thought he should have won something. Bruno cleaning up. He's the Grammy's darling and they do it every year with one artist. One year it was Taylor Swift's year. One year was wasn't Ed Sheer in one year? And how does Ed Sheering not win anything? On camera last night? Because he wasn't nominated for it was he was nominated for the Song of the Year. Oh shape of You. Oh he won, he won Shape of You. He did, Yes, he did, he did, he did, but that wasn't awarded on camera. They didn't have time for that. Okay, speaking of the Grammys, I'm riding in this morning and I'm listening to UH to the news channel, and the two the two hosts of the show are talking about their opinion of the Grammys, and then they they they bring in the guy who's the Grammy guy. You know, he's the expert him on the guy who comes in. So he's the reporter. He's the reporter, now specialized reporter. Now right, he's the guy. He's the entertainment reporter. So he's the guy that go to entertainment, like if we went to Dan Yell on our show. He's the guy. Right. Okay, So before you play this clip, I want you I want to listen. If you listen to the podcast, here's what happened. I have the ability on my radio to back up a half hour on in my presets, and so I heard this. I backed up right, I got my phone out as him. I came to a red light and I put the phone down by the speaker, and I tried to record what I had just heard because I couldn't believe what I just heard style and then it wasn't loud enough, so I backed it up. When I backed it up, I backed it up too much, and so I folded it back, and I couldn't get that clip again, back back back by the time I pulled into the garage where we park and I had to get to work. So what the clip you're gonna hear is when they go to the guy. You'll hear what he says. The part I cut off is him saying I fell asleep. So listen to this clip when I went to the entertainment guy, and then add I fell asleep to the end of it. This is the one in green Here we go. Did they go too far? Were they too political with the fire in fury reading bringing in Hillary Quinn? Whoa, I've missed the Graham He's I I actually fell asleep, actually fell asleep. How the hell is the entertainment guy? Yeah, admit that first of all, admit that. How does he not tell the producer don't put me on I missed the Grammys. You can't miss the Grammys. You had one job. One job. Your job is on the Grammys director, right. They go to him, he goes, I missed the Grammys. But but then he says, he says, like, I watched some clips this morning. I want to get my opinion. You watch it, play it again. He's like, did they go far? Were they too political? With the fire and fury reading? Bringing in Hillary Quinn. Whoa, I've missed the Graham he's I, I actually actually fell asleep. Is that you coughing in the background You're hacking? I don't know. I don't know. Like I said, I was trying to with the one hand on the wheel, one hand on the radio, Mike, my third hand on the phone. You know, I was trying to record it for the people. Well that was very funny. I wish we got the second asleep? How did he do that? So email us? A scared give me the email address in a second. Have you ever either fallen asleep or completely left up your job and like missed showing up for the big day? This guy the Grammys is one of the like, what five award shows of the year you have to cover? There's no excuses in this. I fell asleep. You can't fall asleep. You can't. You can have a friend at your house making sure you don't fall asleep. Your job is to wake up Monday morning and report on that. Even if your DVRT it, you had time to wake up and watch it again. Maybe he went out, No, you can't go out. He fell asleep behind He fell asleep, and no one's yelling at him for it. It's the entertainment guy on CNN, whoever the guy is at five thirty in the morning. He fucked up. He really did. I didn't. I'd actually say it, and I was like, okay, speaking of people on can I can we can we get off the Yeah, let's do that two more clips. So it's so I switched to um okay, So I listen to to satellite news in the morning and in the local news in the morning. I want to get all my news on the way in. So I switched between the cable news stations and the local news stations. So every morning at at five seven MSNBC, which is on television, but they they play the audio from the TV on the radio channel on satellite. They have a guy named Lewis. I don't wanna give his name, but his name is Lewis his whole name. He does the sports right. I know he's not a sports guy. You can tell he knows nothing about sports, but he reads it off a teleprompter. I'm assuming because he gets names wrong. So he looks good on camera. I don't know why. I guess he's of the three people on the show, he's the guy like you do it. Okay, Fine, So he's talking about Rhonda Rousey, who's a was an m M A fighter I think one of them, right, and now she's gonna be in uh w w E give me a wrestler. Yeah, it was just announced on Monday hashtag hashtag actress. Okay, So, so he's talking about how she was such a great fighter, most of her fights didn't last this long. Here's the clip, um, and then I need I need you scared to help me out here. And then if you listen to the podcast, I need you to tweet us and tell us how long her fight's averaged. Here we go. Publicity stunted. She went further on Instagram, writing that the route to WrestleMania begins now. Browsing won her first well professional fights and won four of which lasted a little less than over a minute, okay, catch players flay the isolated clip lascid a little less than over a minute? How long is a little less than over a minute? What is that? I think he wanted to say. I think he was unsure. I think he wanted his brain was going at the same time teleprompter. He was reading off of the person who wrote it for him. He the I think they meant a little less than a minute or a little over a minute or something. But it came out a little less than over a minute. But if you take that literally, a little less than over a minute, so a little less than it will be a minute. So if you go over that a minute over but over a minute could be a minute and forty five. But if you go over a minute and a little less than that, maybe it's a minute and change. But over a minute could be a minute and thirty over a minute, yeah, it can't be. So then a little less than a minute twenty eight at a minute could be three minute, It could be a minute and one, in which case, a little less than over a minute is under a minute, right, But if it's a minute, if it's if it's you meant a minute, thirty and you say a little less than over a minute, right, But if you say, I'm thinking like, okay, so it's a little less than a minute thirty, probably a minute ten, right, But if it's over a minute and it's a minute five, then a little less could be like fifty nine, in which case it's under a minute. So then it's not a little less than over a minute, it's under a minute. That guy sucked up too. I want to talking about telepropt is all on my way in this morning? Another teleprompter, another one another, by the way, how funny was called on stage yesterday? Another on another one, And then people started tweeting you can believe that it was secret. Last night they were playing all New York songs when they were bringing the presenters out, so they played, um, Ryan Adams, I used to love you in New York and they played no Sleep to Brooklyn, and people like, oh my god, no Sleep to Brooklyn. That's and they and so people were tweeting us that, yeah, well the teleprompter. Yes, by the way, can I tell us quick story Ryan Adams, Ryan Adams not Brian Ryan, Like everything I do, I do it for you? Right? No, No, Ryan Adams is not quite as popular as Bryan Adams was, and I used to get them confused. Really, how could you get Bryan Adams Canadian rock star of the eighties and nineties with Ryan Adams fulky rock singer from the people in people mentioning Ryan Adams name in the two thousands. In the two thousands, Ryan Adams name, I feel that I remember. I always think of Brian Adams. I'm like, they're talking a Bryant note. I have to correct myself to talking about a totally different guy. So Ryan Adams got a lot of notoriety in two thousand one because um On September seven, four days before the September eleventh attacks, he filmed the video for his song I Still Love You New York, which they played last night, and it's a it's a it's a tribute to New York. He's like all the heartache I've had in my life, I Still love you New York. Like it's a it's a great song about New York. And the video is all scenes of New York. But he plays at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge with the Twin towers behind him, and he recorded it and it's considered the last video footage of the buildings before the morning of September eleven, and so it's eerie watching him knowing and when he filmed that video four days later, nine eleven was gonna happen. So the song is about New York, about loving New York, and he filmed and so at the beginning it says this is dedicated to those who lost their lives in nine eleven. But the video is wild because he's at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side with the twin towers behind him. And when he was filming it, which I guess was eleven ten, nine eight, I have to come backwards, was the Friday before the Tuesday got it. So that's how whenever hear that song, I Still Love You New York, think about the video gets me all choked up. I didn't mean to get you all choked up. No, no, no, I'm just you gotta go. You gotta rant in about a couple of minutes. You got clear throw. But I just wanted to say regarding teleprompter screw ups. Um, the people at CBS are so some of those reporters are so plastic. So they were supposed to have an hour's worth of Grammy coverage yesterday for the Red Carpet. It was supposed to be from sixty seventh, but of course Tiger Woods was playing golf and they couldn't take their cameras off. That CBS had the PGA Tour thing right, and I had I got stuck watching, uh, the Red Carpet with with Ryan Seacrest. Ryan, I like, we have a problem. Wherever Ryan goes, he has bad female co hosts. Julianna Ranson is not a fan. I call it Julianna Ransion. I don't I don't enjoy her interview style. And Julie and then Jenny McCarthey on New Year's Eve train wreck, Well back to a second, Okay, so there they actually went on the air forty five minutes late. It's six instead of six thirty to seven thirty. They literally saw in there like seven twelve pm. They have like like just twenty minutes before the freaking show. Yeah, what would they have done if they got into like a shootout, like uh, it went into you know, sudden death, like if it kept going, dude, you gotta have a backup channel where you can bump. But the thing is they still have to roll their introduction, and they don't make adjustments. So you had the guy and the girl, the two people whatever from entering, Nancy O'Dell and the other dude. So they opened into the opening and they're doing that that like calculated walk from around the statue to you know, to is and they're like and you could tell they're reading teleprompters and you know they're they're they're talking to the camera, like what we have coming up? And he goes, that's right. For the next sixty minutes, you're gonna be you know, you're gonna be like dazzled about what we're gonna have. We're gonna cover the carpet. And I'm like, no, for the next eighteen minutes because it's seven twelve, and then Brammy's are gonna start in twelve minutes. Eighteen minutes. What the fuck? I'm like, you can't make a mental adjustment. I get it, the script was originally meant for the sixty minutes, but you're absolutely that robotic recorded maybe recording, I don't think so, no, because I doubt if it was that was the reason. But he was walking and talking to the camera and then he says the next sixty minutes. Make the mental adjustment that you only have eighteen minutes left. Why do you have to read word for word verbatim. I felt like I was watching anchor man, you know, and like you know, like you know, reading the reading everything, and they they slow up. Did you like Will Farrell on side in their life? I didn't see it. Okay, it was good, Yeah, it was good. It was good. So listen Ryan Seacrest, he's on the red carpet. He's got the celebrities walking up to him. He's talking to them one on one, you know, face to face. He did some good interviews, you know, Ryan. Yeah, he's a pro. Every time they cut to Julianna Ransick, Ran said she's by like a metal fence and the artists, which, by the way, he seemed like all hip hop artists were behind a fence. Yeah, and she had to lean over the fences. Well yeah, but you know, Bebe Rexa was like, um am, I supposed to come up there. This is weird, Like Bebe rex didn't know what to do. Uh no, I'm sorry, I'm on this. I'm on this podium behind a fence. You're gonna talk to me from down there? Honey, that's pretty much what was. Julianna was saying, like they wouldn't she couldn't come up there she you know, obviously when you do an interview, you're next to each other. So it was kind of awkward because all the artists were down below, as you said, so Bebe Rex didn't know what to do. Am I supposed to like talk to you over the railing? Is that is that right? And then she's like yeah, yeah, just like this yeah, And then they got her mom on I Love MoMA REXA, Yeah, she's great. Well she's Brooklyn born by the way, up in Staten Island. What's get her on the freaking podcast? We should? I have her email address, every mom's email. Oh, Bebe would come up, you know. BB and I actually posted um the Sloman's ice cream truck together back in the day hit the jingle jingle. I didn't mean it that way, Yes you did. And by the way, I played that jingle for Elvis. He loved it. He's gonna use it when you do that on the Big Show to Okay, fine, you could have just said we did a thing together. Oh when I when I was on, When I was when when when when um, BB and I were together at an event at mets Jam. Is that is that a product endorsement? Mets Jam as an event? You were paid to be there? Okay, So needless to say, Babie was so cool. I was inside the ice cream truck and I was handing out free ice cream ice cream truck, free Good Humor ice cream. So anyway, I was sitting in there and I was handing out free ice cream bars. Anyway, Babe was like, oh my god, that looks like fun. Can I Can I come with you? She got into the truck with me and we started dishing out ice cream together from inside the truck. I'm like, this is one cool fucking chick. She's cool. Did I say chick? Meant that the coolest friendliest ways? I do have to call partial bs on bough. Why. Well, she had a great speech last night about um she thinks we need more women in music and that women should work together and uh, you know there's not enough women on the charts. I thought it was that was great, very empowering. But her new singles with Florida Georgia line two Guys, two guys, So I feel like, in all fairness, it's a great song by the way, Florid Georgia Lions. Yes, but in all fairness, she might be in collaboration with someone as we speak, we don't know about it. Because absolutely, baby call us, we want you on the podact. Absolutely you can explain the flow of Georgia la. Oh is it that time? It is? Okay, So let me gotta do unused punch line more audio clip I want to play, we'll get afterwards. All right, let's go for the punch lines. I want to hear some jokeys. It's been two weeks since you've given Elvis stuff for the Big Show and then it got rejected back in your face. So it goes into a separate pile that we call unused punch lines from the Big Show right now. If we're doing two episodes this week, I gotta save some for the other episode. So let me start off with the kill the music. Every major card holiday we do celebrity Valentine's Day cards, which I have to start working on because we're only like a few weeks away, celebrity Father's Day cards, celebody Mother's Day cards, and it's it's cards that Elvis says he you know, he got that there for that person, not from that person. Well, actually they're from that person. Like if it was got from Bill Cosby's Father's Day cad, it's for it's it's happy Father's Day from Bill Cosby, it's from him. So I O the O the break, because that's what I do. I write those, No secret there, I wrote the celebrity because he's are actually the cards right, I wrote the celebrity holiday cards for So we came back from vacation, Elvis would say, oh, I brought in the cards I got from all my celebrity friends, and he would read them, but he never did. Well. We were off the first week of January, which we never are, and then the first day at two it was too busy, and then he felt like it's kind of late. Wait a second, why don't you just hold these for Valentine's Day? Cause when you hear them, you'll you'll know why'd in home Funes Day. And I can still use them for as a small percentage of people here our podcast to hear the big show, A couple of I do not hear the holiday card spoken word. I'll do it as as as if Elvis did it your car. Here's the whole the holiday card from Justin Timberlake. I'll be performing at the Super Bowl. Ain't that something? I just hope I don't have a wardrobe malfunction. That holdays he's start off cute. Oh here's Harvey Weinstein's card. The next time I need to water the plants, I'm gonna use water and not unzip my pants. Happy Holidays because he whacked off in the plant. Okay, you half this holiday card. I lived a great life, always with a couple of hot honeys. And even though I'm dead, I just slept with six playboy bunnies. Happy Holidays from you after he's still banging. He's still banging the playmates, as he would say. Oh, here's a holiday card from from President Trump. This card is for all of my family and friends. It's now safe to say Merry Christmas again. Happy Holidays, Holidays. Okay, Kathy Griffin. This New Year's Eve, Now you remember why she wasn't at New Year's Rock and Eve this year because last year she got totally drunk. No no, because she posted a picture the President's head. Okay, Kathy Griffin, This New Year's Eve, I just stayed in bed because I took a dumb picture with a severed head. Happy New Year from Kathy Griffin. Oh, here's one from our friends. They sent these out. Did you get yours from the Acquired Taste podcast? Oh? I didn't get mine. Yeah, they sent out holiday car Oh my god, we'll read it to me. What is Bethany, Kathleen and Sam do a show called an Acquired Taste. After guys listened to it, they all master their feelings. Happy holidays. Happy holidays, Oh, Megan Markle, future princess quitting and move to England won't be a big hassle. I begged me a prince and our home is a castle. Happy New Year from Megan Markel. Is it I mean they put fought into these cards? The Tiger Woods, I'll go back at the p g A. I saw him yesterday. Tiger Woods for me seen was not very good. Nude picks of me were leaked. You could see my seven would Happy New Year, Tiger Woods. Kendall Kendall Jenner. Don't worry about Kim Jong un threatening nuclear war. I just left the case of pepsi by his door. Happy holidays from Kendall Jenner. Just you know, pepsi solves all problems. Uh and finally holiday card from from that lower How could if you get Matt come into my office. There's gifts on the floor. When you bend over to get one, I'll push a button and locked the door. Merry Christmas. But there are my unused holiday cars. They would have been better with music, but it's still of fun. Okay, now I have I'm gonna save these unused jokes for the second podcast this week, So I'm gonna finish up with stuff I wrote for today's episode of the Elvis Straand Morning Show that we didn't get too because Elvis called out sick today. You have stuff. I have stuff, specifically just a couple of one liners because the man who created Ikea died yesterday, all right, And then I have a bit that we wrote like I wrote fifteen years ago. But it's still good, still relevant, still good. So one of my favorites of all time. Here's the joke. There's a couple of jokes. One of them is in this bit. The man who created Ikea has passed away. Experts are saying it will take two adults about forty five minutes to assemble his casket. The paul bearers will be Alan Wrench, Philip Z and stew Driver, and they expect a huge assembly at his funeral. Those are my Kia jokes. We didn't get to you want to play a bit from fifteen years ago. It's a key of the musical from the people who want you and he get your glue gun and brightened beach armoires. It's Ikea the Musical, No, not Aida, It's Ikea, Ikea, featuring the hit song I want spot a chair at Ikea and I want to build a new bedroom set. I want to build a new bathroom set. A rousing rendition of this classic. Love the Yellow Line, How the Yellow Line? Yes, Ikea the Musical. The Daily Times called it the best show you assemble yourself. News Time magazine says if you don't run out to see it, you must have a few screws loose the kids. I love such timeless classics, says this show stopper se six cam bolts for the big bookcase with a h must rooms for the There won't be a dry eye in the house when you hear the card good Hard Bard the art card cord their pop like the b roll. Come see Ikea the Musical, directed by Philip z stew Driver and that sounds like welcome. You've got mail. You can always email us at the Brooklyn Boys podcast at gmail dot com. Can't saying it enough. We love your email. I read all of them and thank you so much. A lot of people with a lot of you have any tweets, by the way, we have so many. I got a lot of tweets, and I got a lot of d m s. There's one d M in particular I'm gonna read. I couldn't get I've been sick, but I didn't. I didn't call all of the tweets, but I have one I want to read when you're done. All right, Well, this is from Seawan Shawn nice Back, huge fan, listen to the Big Show for years, recently dope into the world of podcasts, love Acquired Taste and the Brooklyn Boys, and I love being able to hear more from Dave Brody who she called you Dave. I'm fine with that. I prefer David. And as a curb your enthusiasm fan, I have a special huge appreciation for ranting. The panther between both of you is hilarious. Trying to remember the name in our mist of a song that Brody played on one of the podcasts that his daughter told him about the edited version has too many beliefs and you couldn't fully appreciate the song without all the swear world words. The beat was sick and there was something about punching a baby bear. Uh, let me know what it is. Tell us on the podcast. It's driving me nuts. So we're gonna solve one person's email issue on this entire podcast. If you can get that. And while you get that, Brodie, let me continue on. This is from Kendra Drnis. Love the show. Caught up on all the episodes. I listened to an episode every day on my commute home from work. I lived seven miles from work, but most days it takes me about an hour to get home. Uh just say the past few weeks, I couldn't wait to sit and rush hour traffic so I can hear the next episode. Scary. The chemistry you and Brodie have it is amazing. Love the Brodie rants. It's almost as if you're riding in my car. I'm hooked on the two of you, and I introduced Oh my god. She introduced two of her co workers to the show. Love It. This is what want spread the worst. Be more like Kendra from Philly Ladies and gentlemen, be like her. Go and tell two of your co workers or friends, just two people, people, Let's get this rolling. Let's get it. Let we need more listeners. Anyway, I love the land. Sorry scary, but we all agree with Sebastia Maniscalco on the State Dinner. Yeah, I ken. By the way, did you get Shawnie's answer? What song it was? Yeah? It was it was Nobody Speak by DJ Shadow and Run the Jewels. I believe, okay. Uh. Antonette Garcia writes, hey, guys, meaning to send this message to you. For a while now, since it started, I support and love both of you, but I'm actually glad since I've become become since I've begun listening, my love and appreciation for you guys, and the podcast has only grown. And I really mean that. I I texted Brody a few weeks back. Uh definitely didn't text me, tweeted Okay, okay, anyway, she just wants to go. She goes on to she get some personal stuff in there. She says that we've helped her through some some really crazy times, usually binge, the Fifteen Minute Morning Show and Broken Boys podcast. Brodie's rants are highlight of my day. Brodie, I'm not sure how a Jewish guy from Brooklyn and a Puerto Rican girl from Philly can be the same person, but somehow we are and scary. You seem just so genuinely sweet and down to earth, and there's just such a comfort that comes with feeling like you're listening to two friends talk. I'm really grateful that you guys started this. And when the book even is not even free, Dessert goes into print, the first in line to buy a copy and then purchase another one. She's awesome. That's Antonette, and we won't give her last name. Thank you, Antonette, we love you. She's Then she goes into her last her last line, keep up the amazingly wonderful work. Yes that's an adverb, amazing. So she gets love her love. I love firing and all cylinders. Jennifer Debink. Debink writes Bank regarding episode Hey, when you're talking about how many more people listen to Number twenty one podcast, I got a question. I listen to you guys both on I heart and iTunes. If I start a podcast on my heart and I finished on iTunes, will account is being listened to twice, it might be kind of I think it's counted as none. No, it's yes. I think you can listen to the whole thing you do is started. That's what I've been told. How far in the podcast do I have to get for it to count to listen? I think you just have to hit play and then stop it. I don't think that's the case. My god, you guys should do that. Let's experiment. I used to do that. Let's play stop everyone, I want you to play stop, play stop, play stop, play stop. Let's see gets Also, like here at work, after you hear a podcast, feel free to hit play, turn the volume off, and let it run in the background. You like that one, Deborah Gal right the way, if I can interrupt, go for it because we asked the abut episodes twenty three episode twenty four right you labeled as an interview with Joe Gatto from Jokers, A good Friend of Ours and Offense one of the best shows on television and practical Jokers Now. He tweeted it out. We tweeted it out right. As of this point, it's only about two thirds the listenership of a normal episode of the Brooklyn Boys, So I renamed it so it wouldn't look like But my question ahead, why aren't you guys who listened to all every all one of our episodes is about X and then twenty one and twenty three we said, we're like X plus, why are you not? Why are you not listening to number twenty four? I'm thinking it's a great episode. It's because it Joe Gatto, and they're like, I might not. I not. I don't like why watching practically impractical jokers? What the hell's wrong with you? It's a great show, right, But I think that's what might be deterring people. But here's the thing. Joe sits in and Joe sounds like a third of us. Yeah, it's not really an interview. It's very very loose, and it's possible people just haven't gotten up to it because it's the last episode. I'm is saying, if you've listened to everything else and for some reason you have listened to that yet it's a funny episode. He's funny. But we we all had great rant. You had some great things. We made fun of you, which is always good. That's always a plus, always a plus. So Deborah gall writes more listeners listening to your numbers one to ten podcasts, asking why people listen more a lot. I've no clue. I just don't have time. But listen to Elvis on I Heart on demand as much as possible. The shows are hysterical. Am I listening more to the Brooklyn Boys? Absolutely? Why had nothing to do with the title. I never read the title, So there you go. Brodie, she doesn't read the title, says I came back to listen again because that ups story was hysterical. I love you both, Thank you, Deborah gall So that's some word, you know what. I can keep going on and on, but we have another podcast we might be doing this week, so I'm gonna save some of these. By the way, When she says I love you both both thoughts of the bet, so does Brodie. She meant Brodie and Scary. We shut up, Dick. All right. Here's a short one from Heidi Stagger on your January tenth shower, Steiger, Thank you, Brody for explaining grammar today. It comes easy to some of us. Great to hear you and Scary back on the scene. That was after that our long run of Where We Are head vacation and alright, alright, cool, alright, the next episode, I have a grammar question I need help with, so I'll remind me went right down, you know, grammar question for next time I need advice. I'm not having a problem with grammar, but I'm having a problem and grammars involved. All right, here is UH. I want to read the d M that I got that I the one UH I wanted to read. It's from Mr Underscore Brian T. Gil I'm assuming it's Mr Brian T. Guilly had to put on score. Mr Brodie, I want to thank you for your wisdom of free dessert rants. I'm not much of a fighter as a shopper. Many times I've been left over and just leave it be, but thanks to you. Last month, my mother was buying new appliances for a kitchen from such and such company. Long story short, they fucked her order over so many times, and I just took your advice. I was kind and spoke to a manager asked, what are you gonna do for me now that you have made a mess of the order so many times? They ended up giving me almost as discount of almost a thousand dollars and a two card from my troubles. Thanks to you, I had my stake and free dessert to I'm looking forward to your book. I'm gonna buy one for each member of my family. PS. Your podcasts are awesome. I'm from the Bronx and now live in Jacksonville, Florida, but love the Brooklyn Boys podcast. Self scared to grow a beard? I don't know about that. Man, Look at this, this is three days. Yeah, that's sad. Yeah, I have a bone to pick with you. And then I'm gonna I'm gonna give you my my you gotta be kidding me rant for the week. Let me get my rant ready. Um, you're you're Jacksonville Jaguars to that guy that moved to Jacksonville, Brian, sorry about them man. Yeah, So on the you know what, there's a couple of things that you can say about me and a couple of things to say about you. There's things I like that I'm passionate about. Oh, I know I could name them. Yeah, you're first of all, what am I lassionate about the Walking Dead? Right? That's passionate about the Mets? What movies am I passionate about that? You aren't movie films that you know what films do. I love that you you're like Star Wars Wars. I'm okay with Star Wars just like na uh current films. That's enough. That's enough, you've said enough. Why I'm on your snapchat? I don't know about a week ago. About a week ago, and I see you're in Norwalk, Connecticut, Norwalk, Connecticut at an Imax theater. Shout out to Henry Davidson. He text he tweeted me that he that he's like, dude, I live five minutes from there. Yeah, what about it? And you went to see Star Wars? Yeah? Okay? Was that a gig an appearance? No? So you can't play this fucking jingle? Why were you at an Imax Star Wars theater? You don't like Star Wars? Well you try so. My thought is either you got paid to be there Nope, or you're trying to like get hits on on social media, got cool points, Like I was at Star Wars. I'm one of the gang. I'm there. Why were you at Star Wars the Imax theater? I explained this on the podcast the other podcast, but I'll explain it to here. What on the podcast when I was OUTSI I told everybody. Although I want to apologize for the four episodes of the fifteen minute morning Show that I wasn't here for, I know we missed you. I know the truth of the matter is um even though that I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. I've seen every film, but I'm one of those people who obsess over things, and I need to see things, and I need to experience things in the best possible quality. I need I just just the way I am. I don't know. You could call it what you want, but I read that Star Wars The Last Jedi was filmed in full seventy millimeter. That's when you have two projectors next to each other, thirty five and thirty five and thirty five millimeter. It's seven millimeter. So the lions share of screens around the country, we're not showing them in seventy millimeters. You want to find imax. You saw it in seventy millimeter Imax, none of us. But did you know? But that's the thing, the thing called Imax digital. I did my homework and there are screens that are showing it in Imax digital. But that's bogus Imax. It's not real Imax A true Imax theater. The screen is nineties seven ft tall. It's six stories high, like in Manhattan, the one on Street and Sony in Lincoln Square we have. Every other Imax theater is a bogus Imax theater unless you're seeing it in that theater in a seventy millimeter waiting, so you have to gome on. So the it's filmed in seventy millimeter, it's meant to be projected in seventy millimeter, but the lions share of theaters show it in thirty five millimeter, so you're not getting the full effect and the full quality. So, because I'm a month late to the party, I googled where Star Wars playing at the nearest in seventy millimeter? And the nearest the nearest theater that was playing it in seventy millimeter, and I hate that this is a boring answer for you, Brody, was the Imax theater at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwak, Connecticut. So I went there and by the way, we were one of three couples in the theater. That was it. And that's my answer. Okay, what did you think that I hadn't I told you I thought you either you either went with someone who like, oh, i'll look good that I went some people like or you went like as someone one of our radio stations paid you to go. I don't do that, like oh, promote Imax, go to the theater. I couldn't figure out you're not Star Wars would have been great, have been a great idea to get paid for. No, No, it was fifteen dollars. That's the best part, all right. You know they they don't rob you, they don't rip your eyes at I do IMAX three D for the big the big films. Yeah, but I didn't do seventy off the chat all right. I have to think that three D three D must have been great. Did you see it in three dings? Was it good? Clear? I think I did. I know I saw an IMAX that wasn't stand is not not not good. Not cutting friends on the movie. Some movies as a waste. It's like they don't film it. There's nothing flying at you. All right. You know you're one of my pet peeves is when you don't hear somebody what you say and they repeat the last word, yeah, like yeah, cheese, I know what you said cheese. I didn't hear the hall. What you say. So since the last podcast, that's happened to me twice where I had to get like but you know, I get upset. But this is a similar situation. Yeah, so no, no, what So I'm at I'm at. I'll tell you who it was. I don't care. I'm at the CVS picking up medicine. There's a drive through not far from my house. And I'm sick as a dog. But my wife was out and I needed medication. My doctor prescribed. I saw my doctor. He gave me a prescription. I called it in. He called it in for me. I'm going to pick it up. I pull up to the window. I've been going there for years. I'm in this system. The woman we'll call her Agnes in case I need a name to reference. She says, what's your name? I give her my name. Does do you have insurance? Said? Yeah, it's in the system. She says, oh, it's on the other computer. Now if you go inside, you know what the set up looks like. The other computer is about twelve feet away. I said, they're not SYNCD. No, Well, can you go to the other computer and look me up? Don't you have a card? I do have a card, but it's in my wallet, and I don't want to go dig in through my wallet of a hundred credit cards because it's supposed to be in the system. I don't know. Agnes isn't going over to them and shews, I guess I could go to the other computer and look it up. I guess that, No, you will go to the other So I'm sick as a dog. I go, you know, uh, I go my wallet. I go, here's the card, and here's my credit card for the for the for the medicine. She comes back five minutes later, and she says, all right, we're gonna help you. I said, it's not ready yet. It was called in an hour ago. Well, we're gonna help you. And she's staring at me. She's not saying anything, so I said, and and she looks she's looking behind my car, just looking behind my car. And I said, is there a problem? And she says, there's a car behind you? So I say yeah. She says, we're gonna help you, so I said, and and she says there's a car behind you. So I went off on her. I said, could your maybe places speak some full sentences? Could you maybe say what you mean. And she's looking at me, and she's staring at me, and I said, I'm sick. What do you want from me? There is a car behind me. I see it. We've established that. She's like, well, we're gonna help you. Great help me. So I said, wait a minute, I got this figured out. What you're not saying is, sir, your prescription will be ready in a few minutes. In the meantime, do you mind pulling over to your parking space so we can help the car behind you? Is that what you want to say? And Agnes looks at me and goes, oh yeah. Now her manager walks over behind her, like, is there a problem, sir? On her face. But at this point I've spoken for Agnes, so I don't need Agnes to speak anymore. She wants me to pull over because she doesn't want to walk to the other register to see if I'm in the system. So I pull over. The other car goes there's nobody else in the parking lot. It's the place closes at ten o'clock. Okay, it's nine thirty. No wonder why she's blowing you up. She's like, I'm fucking done with this. The point is nobody else is pulling up for that medicine. So I pulled back around right, I said, you turned I back up, I pull up to the window. I was gone for five minutes, she said. You know what she says to me, Hi, can I help you? Can you help me? What if she had gold fish in a bowl. You're the woman who just told me you wanted my card. I'm out in the system. There's a car behind me. You don't speak to me, and now you don't recognize me. I'm the sick guy who just yelled at you. Can I help you? She's like, what do you want? I want you to recognize me. Agnes recognize me, she says, I said, I was just here. I'm waiting for my prescription. Then then she says to me, oh, okay, do you have your insurance card? I gave you my insurance card. So then she says, oh, okay, do you have your credit card? Wow? I said, I gave you the credit card. Fucking dumb as a box of rocks. Geez, So she says, people stay employed. She says, you did, yes, I did. I gave you the credit card. When you said can I have your cards? I gave you the credit card and the medical card, so making me nauseous. I figured out what figured out what CVS stands for. It stands for camp verbalized sentences. That's what CVS stands for. We're gonna help you. There's a car behind you? Yes, they're fucking is a car behind me? Thanks? Scienstein. You know what's not an existence? My pills. My pills are not in my hand. Did you get your pills? Finally? What was the outcome? Did you from my pills? The medical system in this country sucks. Don't get me started. I finished my deductibles free loft hit. It sounds like she gave me so long. Don't you stud word sentences. She's give me half thoughts. There's a car behind you? And and what there's a car behind you. You're gonna need more medication after this, you know what, there's a dumb look on your face. We're even now what I don't know. I don't know. I was sick. Just give me my medicine. And you know what the funny part is, it wasn't like that had a like chop up the medicine and then put in little capsules. Of course, you know I got a Z pack, you know what a Z pack is? They come pre packed, it's pre packed, it's got packed in the title. It's a Z pack. It's not a ze make it while you wait, it's a Z pack. So she made me move because she probably had to check the other computer. Agnes had a mosey over to the other computer. How long does that take? Agnes? You know, I don't. I don't understand how these people don't get performance reviews. Fancy dry go to a fancy or high class drug store. This person's manager should have sat with her and and review. I mean, there's gotta be maybe she's new on the job. I don't know. I'm not trying to make excuses for her. I just you know the worst part about this, I told your writs of my story, our phone producer, you're ritz on the show. She goes, I got a Z pac also, I said, yeah, doesn't it suck a hundred thirty four dollars? Just oh no, I went to some bargain basement pharmacy and got a seventy I paid almost sixty dollars more. The Agnes that tell him it's a car behind me. Fuck you, Agnes Prod. I'm sorry, I can't I can't. I had a good story though, I got free dessert. But I'll tell you the next podcast, and my mom's gonna call and tell you how she got free, free, free dessert. We got a lot going on for the next episode, we really do. But go back and listen to the last episode with Jogato. Definitely. Ah okay, one more thing for you, and this is this is something that listen. You're you're a dad, you have kids. I do have. That's both of those things are true. Um, when I was shopping the other day, I'm not gonna tell you the name of the store, but I kind of need to because it goes in line with the type of people that shop at that store. I'm just gonna say, no, no, don't insult people who shop down. No, I'm not gonna marcus no, no, no, no. It was a grocery store. It was Whole Foods, A Whole Foods, yea check. So you know the type. So I'm I'm walking up and down the aisle. You're looking for Sadi. You're never gonna find it. No, you're not. You're not gonna find some don't. But I will say this, there was a father there with three kids. Clearly his three kids, and he goes like this, he goes, hey, he the kids were like taking all the popcorn and the chips off the shelf, and they were being destructive. They were literally taking bags of chips and it was slamming them in the floor, like shattering everywhere pretzels, and the kid and the father was just talking in tones like this, say, okay, Matthew, Matthew, that's it. We're gonna go in time out. Uh okay. And and hey guys, hey, Joseph, Joseph, what's it gonna be for later? Um? Are we going to take this? Are you on this one or that one? And and put that down? No? No, no, no you can't. You can't take it up, pick it back. And the father ended up picking this stuff off the floor. They must have taken seven bags of chips. And guess what. I can only think in my head that David Brodie's gonna come along and be the guy to buy this unfortunate, sorry bag of chips, and it's gonna be all crushed and all and crumbs, because that would be you. I would have checked it. He's not sucking bags. How do you know what you're getting? I'll tell you what I would have done. I would have been the guy who reprimanded his kids form. Well that's where I'm going with this, Kim. Those kids are gonna grow up to be the ship holds of tomorrow. Well what do you think? How do you how do you reprimand kids like that? Do you do you not raise you? Do you go time out? This time out work? No? Um, how would your father and my father have dealt with that? If it was us? I don't know if I could say it on this podcast right and when we can track across the friend, would we have done it again? No way, that's correct. My father would have beat my ass. Now, I I don't want your tweets and emails telling me I'm advocating violence again. I'm not advocating anything. I'm just telling you that back in the day, my father would have slapped me across the face or spent my butt and I again, rabbed me and throw me against the wrap. Father have thrown me into a fan, But throw me out of a second story, hide me to the front of a train. No, it wouldn't. It would not have been a verbal time out. And it's because it's it clearly isn't working on these three little motherfucking brats. Sorry if I if I got crazy, but they literally were. They had the popcorn. They had the popcorn. They did listen, popcorn, I get it, it's air, it's whatever, it's it's just not gonna break. But chips and pretzels and the kids would take grabbing off the shelf and they were throwing them at the floor as hard as they could. Like, how was the guy some was the father of someone who is intimidating to you? The father was father a father that would wear like one of those uh expensive eyes, you know, sweaters around his neck tied. He was like an accessory. I mean where you know, the teams, you know, the type shops and Whole Foods are painting a picture for I see. He was like, oh okay, Matthew, are you expressing himself right? But but the thing is is that does it work? Is that really a form of child doesn't work? I'm not listen, I'm not I'm not into kids, you know, I mean, you know I'm not having kids. But like I'm help, I don't know how I would have I thought about putting myself in that guy's shoes and how I would have had three brats? What kind of shoes with the Moxin's the best weegions? Yea, and he had the Warby Parker. How do you deal with that as your dad? I just wanted as a customer, as a dad, how would you reprimand your three kids in the store. I would yell at them because some some unlucky bastard, I would. I would yell at them, I would grab the product out of their hands. But then would you then wouldn't you take the product up front and said, look, I'm gonna pay for these, I'm gonna buy this because because you have to. Because my kids, I'm gone's gonna get just like crumbs. Yeah, no, I would disgusting. Just no control over his kids. I have. I have some control over my kids, but it's not to the point that I would like alright, because there's constraints on society. Societal constraints, get it. It's very difficult to manage your way through parenthood. And it's more difficult now that you have to be extra careful with their esteem. And I understand there are other things about about kids today, and I gets a trophy, I get it. But my question now is as a passer by and a customer who witnessed this, I would pretend to be the store manager and say, excuse me, my name is Mike and one of the store managers. I'm gonna have to ask you to pay for that. Do you think I should have done that? I would have walked his asser up to the REGGI to pay for Claire bring him up because I wanted to say something to the guy. I'm like, you canna let your kids throw bags and chips. I would just say, hey, man, you're gonna picked him up, putting back on the shelf and they let sucks. You know, some sucker is gonna come by and say, hey, I'm Mike. I just clocked out. I'm off duty. I took my jacket off my whole foods. You would actually go that far. Oh yeah, Either that I would be like, hey, just stop your kids and doing that depends big the guy was. It depends if if I could take the guy. He was tall, but he was lanky, nerdy, all right, Then I then it might be like, hey, he's the kind of guy that like money solves all his problems. Yeah, I don't have that money or problems. I got problems, no money, they got problems, all right, may we'll give me another podcast this week. Stuff me too, I got more to say. Let's put the world from Brooklyn Boys. Brooklyn, Brooklyn Boys, Brooklas
