Speaker 1: Start up by Brooklyn by Data. They make a noise Data up episode. It's the Brooklyn Boys Podcast. What are we gonna do for a hundred I'm still getting I'm the nervous about you should plan something. It's too late. It's too late to plan something. We talked about doing a live show and the guy who was arranging it at the comedy club, that's our account executive, he got fired. I know you're like, you're like my parents who want to plan Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving. No, I wanted to plan it to have people over later. Okay, we had a plan. We no, no, we had a plan, but we never put it into motion, so it doesn't count as a plan. We're gonna have to celebrate, like episode one ten listen just because it's a whole number, doesn't we have to? I said one ten, would do one ten, could do one O six? One await one O six? Who celebrates one those six? No, I'm not doing one of six. The light of FM people downe Hall one ten one ten is you know, it's like, can you give a hundred ten percent? I think you celebrate when it happens. What are you gonna do? Though, We're gonna send pizza. I don't know. Yeah, what a great what a great free ship for us? Episode that will be for episode A hundred if everyone would have sent us free ship for our Yeah, well and no hundred birthday right upisode? What's birthday? What do you? What do you? What are you in the mood for? Don't don't say pizza? No, I am stuff. I think see you. I would say you should take me out to a steak dinner, but then you'll be taking out to a steak dinner for our hundred and that won't count towards won't count towards towards the real one. You still have it, so I think you should take it out this rock. Yes, you can't take me to steak dinner. Well, by the way, yeah, I had I had a very very non scary weekend. I had a stomach bug for forty eight hours. I came home Friday afternoon and I went to bed, and I swear to you, Brodie, and I didn't even tell anybody in the in the room this today. I did not leave my apartment until four o'clock yesterday afternoon, when I had to get out. I had cabin fever and I was feeling better, and I went out, walked, I met, I met one of my friends to see, uh the Giants game, and then even only for an hour, and then I'm like, I didn't have anything to drink, and I'm like, I gotta go back home. Did you get extra excited watching the Giants game knowing that your friend Daniel Jones, that you met, the backup quarterback of the Giants, got to play yesterday? Guy, I saw Daniel Jones play, and I gotta say, I don't care what you tell me. He looks like the guy in my picture. He does, which is why you fell for it. That's why I fell for it. So it's not without it's not out of the realm of possibility. That's why I thought it would made sense that. Look, you guys heard the episodes. We talked about it twice already. Yeah, when he came in yesterday, I'm like, oh, it's scary. You're gonna buy the jersey? Though, of course I gonna buy it, Jones says. Jones says Jones, scary Jones, Daniel Jones, how could I not? How could you not? So? So, yes, I had a stomach bug and I was in bed for forty eight hours in bed though not even in my apartment in bed. Now I missed this. Did you snapchat in bed? It's the story? Nothing nothing, My story went dark for like the whole weekend. He I would imagine people thought you were dead. I was. I couldn't. I was so under the weather. I don't know what it was. I don't know if I ate some bad food here on Friday? Did you send out anything with a poopa, moji? Anything? People count on you for social media? I had nothing. I had nothing. I went dark the entire weekend, and uh, it's crazy you girl didn't come over. No, I canceled her. We were canceled her. No, did you use the canceled girl app? Cancel girl, cancel, back space, delete Saturday? On Saturday night, I got the craps? Did you tell us straight up? Like? What was wrong? I told her what was going on? I was peeing out of my ass. They had the squirts. It was terrible. If she loves you, she wouldn't care. She didn't care. But the thing is she was. She was understanding, and she was like, don't worry about it. I got my own thing this weekend. Now. She went to the mall on Sunday. But the point, the point is, yeah, you was sick. I was sick all weekend, and I don't get sick and I don't pull myself out of commission that badly. Be honest, even right now, like even again, even when yesterday I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna go out and meet my friends for the Giant game. You're better off not my buddy Dave. Yeah, and I got safe watching the Giants, but I was like, I was there for an hour and I'm like, I can't do this guy's And I came home and be honest, I went back to bed. Be honest, will you more? Did you feel worse being sick or missing out on a on a scary weekend? No? In this case, I was just every time I tried to get up. I got up on Saturday morning and I'm like, I gotta go down to the store and get some bread or something. I need something, some nourishment. And I and I and as I'm as I'm getting up, put my flip flops onto my shorts and my T shirt. I went down to the store and I and I um, and I felt I felt like someone kicked me in the gut. And I felt so tired and weak, and I'm like, I just got to go back to bed. So I went back to bed. I went back upstairs to bed. I I barely left my apartment the entire weekend. It was. It was terrible. It was and I don't know, Yeah, but I don't know what it was. I don't know what came over me. So now I'm looking at web MD and I'm thinking I have every ailment under the sun. I'm taking my temperature. I realize, oh my god, I got a little bit of running a little bit of a fever. What's that all about? Is it viral? And then I'm starting to think of that stupid saying the feed of fever or starve a cold? Or is it starve a fever and feed a cold? Okay, first of all, if you had a viral infection, at least you'd be happy that something was going viral. Second of all, I always thought it was starving cold feet of fever. Is it start a cold fever, feed starve cold feet of fever. No, as it turns out, it's feed a cold, starving fever, which doesn't sound as well as starving cold feed of fever. You starve the fever, you feed the cold. That's what I we talked about on the show. But are you supposed to starve the fever or are you supposed to feed the cold? Starve a cold, feed of fever, starving fever and feed a cold. That's what it says. I don't know, man, I think it's it says, starve a fever, feed a cold, starve a fever. Yeah. So when I got a fever and it is a fever viral or is it bacterial or can it be either? I mean, I'm good now, I'm just I'm just, you know, I'm not. Water juice and hot liquids along with food will help fight cold infections. So you you you starve a fever, you feed a cold, starve a cold. No, starve a fever, feed a cold. That's the way it's supposed to be. But I don't like that. That's probably why I kept I kept being sick because I was eating during your starved my cold. When I should you know what, whatever? I had to call. My mom made me, you know, chicken soup. We got me want on soup, so she fed the cold. Yes, I guess mom knew better. Uh. I put up a video Uh, you ever watched like something in the person you know me, but they put up something, they say something funny on television, so you film the TV and put it up fast. So I'm gonna play something that I put up immediately, right, and then Barst Sports put it up an hour later. Right, I know what you put up. So then people were like, oh, do you put it up COPIEDO? No, No, I'm sure that wasn't the voice they use. But first of all, it wasn't the same clip, like it was the same scene. But we both filmed it because there's one a little longer. It was just coincidence. We both had it. But I had it first, not that it matters, but at first, so Matthew Berry, who I love. He's a fantasy football expert on ESPN, and he was an Avengers endgame little known, little known fact. He'll he'll be the first to tell you. And he was talking about he was talking I saw this live. By the way, this was NFL Countdown right now. This is ESPN and Fantasy Football Show, NFL Now and Fantasy Football Now Fantasy Sunday, ten am to one pm. By the way, ten am to one pm on ESPN, ESPN two, and sometimes they switch over to ESPN. Well, it's they keep switching networks in the middle of the broadcast. What's great about that show is it's three hours, but if you DVR it, you can wake up like an hour late and then just zip zip zip through the commercials and then zip zip through. When you they talk about a player you don't have, Like they spent like eight minutes on Ezekiel Elliott. I don't have them. I don't care about so I put it up. Uh. One one guy asked me again it was barstool not I'll play the clip in a second, but DJ payroll he laughed, and he said, we need an episode of the Brooklyn Boys on scary s c A R Y. I corrected him on scary dressing styles please, So I wrote back, We've had many. I mean we talked about your fashion style all the time. That he thinks that my name is scary. Yeah, I'm assuming he voice texted. Maybe no, it doesn't look like a voice text. Huh, but he's a slice. So here's what Matthew, Yeah, I get this at the beginning. Here, hold on hate Instagram because it doesn't have the sound right away, and then you miss part of it. Okay, here we go. Okay, you want to talk about Apple's summit and all the things that they're gonna announce. Yeah, so Apple's iPhone, they're good things that you've had three years. So what I said to scare this morning, you want to see what Apples gonn announce tomorrow. I can just show you my phone from last year. Now I can tell you my Galaxy no not, and apparently you'll be able to take super wide photos. I can already do that. Um for the super wide selfies, I can do. You heard it here first for the first time ever. Not excited about the Apple Summit because there's because the phone technology is not going to be any different. They're gonna try and sell me a new phone and there's not gonna be anything relevant or anything signal. They're going to tell you the battery less, even longer, and the camera even better. I need a new design. I need new features. I need new fucking every You need an Android. That's what you need, because you just described it. You want new features, new design. You know, Android has so many different companies making phones. You can get any shape and size you want. You have choices with Android, whereas iPhone. You get the big, go to small or the shitty model. That's it. Android. You can get a hell you can get a Samsung, get a l G, get a Motorola. You can get the Google phone, the pixel made by Google. I thought I was getting a curved phone, okay, because that was the iMac rumors. They're like, oh, yeah, the new iPhone is going to be a curve. A curvy phone. A curve for what? So you could wrap it around your face when you watch a movie. I don't know it fits your face better. I don't know, a curve phone, whatever it is. I need something, something tangible, something different, something real. Samsung's coming out with a foldable screen. You'll be able to unfold it to the size of an iPad. Yeah, a big tablet. Yeah, I mean, I don't I don't anticipate them announcing anything groundbreaking this year. He has the video of this is Matthew Barry. If the sound plays, here we Go was one of the most in the NFL. Yeah, so here we go. Let's play it again. Here we Go was one of the most. Well. Apparently, Baker Mayfield is one of the most accurate deep throaters in the NFL. Wow. That guy must watch a lot of porn. You don't want any accurate deep throater. The Yeah, did I tell you by the way, I went off on my alma mater, my high school. I I said this on the on the morning to explain what you did. So what they did to you. Went to Edward Armorrow High School and back in the year two thousand, I was kind enough to come back and do the keynote speech for them. You graced them with your presence. Oh I did, I I did. I went to the here a legend there. I went to Edward Armorrow. How many people are more famous than you from that graduating graduate because I'm fifth most famous from my high school? Marisa Tomay or did she go to my middle school? And one of the beastie boys, Adam Adam out God rest his soul, m c A. He went there. Uh, there wasn't many. Oh and the girl who does lip glossing, little Mama, my lip gloss be cool, my lip glossy popping, she went there. And there's maybe a couple of handful of people here and there. But but the point is, back in two thousand, I was I came back to be the keynote speaker. I was principal for a day there. I've been invited back several times to be to UM. When I was judging the sing which is their play they do like the Freshman's and the seniors and the sophomores and juniors, they together they do these two plays. I judged their talent show and then UM about a year or two ago. Two years ago, they put up some kind of a wall like the Alumni Wall of Fame, and UM, it was very nice tribute to me. They put a little little blur about me, had picture of me, and they're like scary Joe. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, my broken boy, done well nice? Yeah. Well I went there on a recent visit and I'm like, oh, let me stop by the by Wall of Fame. Take a look at the see who they've added to the wall. The fifth course, Well, let me tell you they added all these fuckers who I never even heard of. And they took me down. Oh no, I am gone from the from the Edward Armorrow Wall of Fame. That was there room on the wall where they could have left you. Was it now booked? It was? It was one of those glass cases in the wall. It built into the wall. They put like football trophies. Will you bring your kids something? So this limited space, you know, But I'm like, where the fund did I go? So? Who bumped you? I don't know. All I know is I wasn't there. What did you say on the radio that offended them so much? That's what I'm thinking. So you know what, they blackballed you. I decided to bide my time. I'm like, I'm not even let this bother me. In fact, this this was back in June. By the way, biting your time means it bothers you. But you're gonna wait to act. Bite my tongue, bite your tongue. Yes, No, you want to bite your time. You can combine them. That doesn't mean anything, right, But you know what I'm saying. Yeah, so I said, you know what I'm gonna do. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna sit here idly by and I'm gonna let it happen. But but you didn't, Well I did until until Instagram feed I get a a personal message. Uh well it wasn't personal. It was Edward R. Morrow High School's principal Barge. Uh he is a boat. No, he's a principal his name is Barge. Yeah, his name is and he was welcoming the school year. He was about welcoming to kids back to school. He seems like a nice guy. I've never met him. So he's like, oh, welcome back to school. Here to seeing everyone first thing in the morning. Forward to a great, great year, have a great day to morrow, and I'll see everyone tomorrow. So this comes scrolling by my feet and I'm like, you know what. I'm like, people are commenting about this guy. I'm like, I'm gonna go ahead. Did not and I'm gonna go ahead. I'm gonna use this space on this comment thread. You didn't shame him, did you. I'm like, hey, Mr, I wrote it. Yeah, you're on the comment thread of his on this wall post and I didn't see this. What did you write? Well? This comes, This comes by my feet and I'm like, you know what, I'm still pissed about comment right now. Mr Barge connected with the students and did the intro to the talent show a few months ago, and I walked by the glass showcase only to find I got booted out of the Alumni Hall of Fame from the previous year. Savage. I'm guessing my keynote commencement speech must have sucked, and visits to Edward arm Or over the years were ephemeral, sad face, tear and hold on And it got fourteen likes. So someone wrote, scary what that is not cool? Alumni class of here and then and then Edward R. Morrow High School wrote back to me. And I'm not sure if it's principal Barge or if it was someone represent Go ahead, Scary Jones. You belong in the alumni Hall of Fame. That was an error. We will update the display. Wait a minute, this guy was not principal when you went there, right, Okay, So he's some new guy, doesn't know the deal. Was he there last year when your stuff was up? I don't know. I'm assuming he was. Okay, So somebody decided, you know what, we gotta freshen it up a bit, That's what I'm saying. And they bumped a guy who is this who has a microphone and access to the New York tri state area. I to say, though, your post a little bit passive aggressive. Hit the jingle? What are you talking about? Hit the jingle? I don't know what you mean. Hit the jingle? Passive How is that passive aggressive? Because you're like, Oh, I guess the speech I gave and the fratt noising with the student body, I guess that wasn't good enough to keep me in the case. I guess whoever that biologist was in the case now or whoever they put in there? How do you not even remember who it was that replaced you. I'm not I'm not hot. Listen, I don't get hot. I don't get high on the horse. I'm not that guy. You rode into town like a white like with the white hat, and you're like, whoa, I'm not want to blow my own horn. You're blowing your own horn, and that guy sounds like you'll blow your horn. That guy sounds like he he's like, oh, he's kissing your ass. He'll put you back in for six months. You got rotated out. That's what happened. I just want to know how bigger, bigger name online? Five? I don't think so. All I could say is Melissa Toomay still in the case whole. So what number are you? Did you go on the wiki page and look at the alumni? Yeah, so on the wiki page from my high school. A lot of people think they're I'm not gonna I don't think I'm listed. Ok. There's a guy who uh he's uh, let's see Emmy Award winning cinematographer. Is that more famous than me? Want Emmy? But he's a cinematographer. Let me know what he is? And then count Uh David Brodie, that's me Larry Charles. Yeah, I'm a notable alumni. Uh, Larry Charles. He is a He was a writer and director of and a producer of Seinfeld. Not Larry David. Don't try to correct me. I know Larry Charles is a brilliant comic writer. I'll give him as more famous than me. Uh. This person's investigative reporter and astrologer. That's a job that's not famous, right, Elliott golden Fall composer. Do you ever hear of him? All right? Okay, Jerry Goldstein physicist? Do you hear of him? Not more famous than him? Uh? Eric Gonzalez, King's County District attorney. Now that's a nice job, but is that really like? Is that notable? Now? This is not famous? Is notable? But I'm talking about just famous. Yea. By the way, I'm not listed in the Edward Armorrow High School notable is a seventy seven former New York State assemblywoman more famous right now and saying it's a nice job. All right, biologist, how are you know you're a biologist? You have a job that you know? It's no I mean, look, Bales a great job, but it doesn't say like created anything, found a cure hold on Spike Lee. Definitely, that's too. More famous movie director? Have you ever head a Danny Lanier? Let me see Daniel Lanier? Uh? Oh he directed Dude Wears My Car and Harold and Kumar go to White Hassle. Oh, all right, I'll give him that. That's three. He's more famous. Uh New York State Supreme Court justice. Well, that's nice, but not famous. It's a good job, though, chief economists from Business Week magazine. Look at all this bullshit? Okay, one guy, one guy won won a pulit surprise. He's a playwright. I give him that. That's five. Angie Martinez was big radio DJ New York. I'll give you that. Six. Professional wrestler. Never heard of this guy. I'm six, maybe so Colin Quinn, alright, I'm seven. Seventh most famous, Oh, Barry Sobel all right and Michelle Ye actress. You ever hear Michelle Ye? So she's not more actress? You don't have a job, you're actress? Ready for this? I'm seven. I got a lot of rappers on mine is You're gonna die alright on Morrow High School? Alright, alright? Darren Aronowski, director, Joey Badass, rapper, Gene Michael Bist, artist, artists like painter artist Salvagidius Burchas international chess master. I put I mean a Capital STIs rapper? Why Nick Caution rapper, c J Fly rapper? All right, But of these famous rappers are just people who rapp in the garage. Exactly that. Yvette Clark, I'm a I'm a singer in my shower, US congresswoman. That's all right, Evett Clark, all right. Jerry Kalana voted Internet investor philanthropist. He invests in the internet. So do I spend money on eBay? The funk out of here? Dime a dozen d u z I n rapper? No, Arabella, hold on the diamond dozen people are tweeting us. Now, Arabella, you know what rappers like that you can get for like keep exactly. Arabella Field, actress ever heard of her. No, okay, she tells her parents he's an actress. Anna Han us Women's chess champion. Yeah, man, I'm happy for so far. Maybe maybe the the US congresswoman that Clark. Maybe hold on, we're getting to the end. Believe there we go always Merissa Eliza Hittman, director, Jason Teams, TV writer and producer. Okay, what did you write? Exactly? Irena Crush, US Women's chess champion. All these chess people, Alex Linderman, international chess grand master from a Russian area, a lot of Russian chess place will Mama rappers popping. But I don't. I think I'm a little I think I had a killed on a second. Alright. Zoe Lister Jones love her. She's fantastic. She's on Life and Pieces. But she's been on a ton of sitcoms, all right, so he's brilliantly maybe her Okay. Javier Mounio's actor from in the Heights and Hamilton's on Broadway. Oh yes, yeah you have Okay, that's four I did. Pero o'dooey. Edward Quist, who are these people? Director and artists? Founder of Uber Facts, Chris Sanchez what is uber Facts? He has a fact for you. Nobody knows you are. How about David Sarty producer, Jeffrey Allen, Shrekter screenwriter. I didn't even know her. Hold on as a few more Marsha's Showfield. Keyboard player. What does that mean? Keyboard player to a wedding band? Michael Spiller, He's a TV She put that up herself. She put up keyboard plu these people put it up unless she's in like Deep purple and played keyboards. What is Peter Steele? Peter Steele? Oh, Peter Steele, singer, songwriter? You know Peter Steel. I knew Peter. He was also in um Is he have it over me? Yes? He was in Typo Negative. Before that he was in uh Carnivore. He was a carnivore And before that he was in UM anyway, Pete to Yeah, Richard Velasquez, PepsiCo all Out, Pete Deals and Fallout Sorry, PepsiCo executive. Am? I I'm not even listing you can put yourself on there? How you just hit edit and you put yourself there? What are you talking about? How can you do it for me? It's a Wikipedia page, That's what wicked means. It means you could change stick it'll it'll it'll not true at all, not true. You just put a link to your page on Elvis tran dot com is a certification? Really, you don't know your IP addressed? You know it's scary Jones making the change. Well, well, maybe I should be on there. Then I would imagine Dime a dozen probably put himself. You think that woman who wrote keyboard Player, you think our fan base, what's her name? What's her name? Her name? What's her name? The keyboard player? Who? What's her name? Marsha's show Feld Do you think the show Felders, her fan group, the show Felders, are putting her up on Wikipedia or the Marshamallows, her fan group. The Marshamallows are Okay? Can I tell you something? I'm going through my phone here, tell me this wouldn't piss you off. I'm at shop right. I shopped there a lot. I shopped the shop right. But their signs are always left up, always well a lot. Okay, So they have these stickers they put on the shelf with a price should go. It has like a little overhang where a lot of supermarkets they buy these rails and you would pop in a plastic sign holder, right, and then they'd slide a piece of paper in with this with the price. What Shop Right does is they take a sticker with the price on it and they stick it up under the lip so the top of it can't be read. Every damn time, I'm gonna put it up on Instagram, you see I'm talking about So half the time you don't know what product they're talking about. You just see the price because in the in a very small font at the top, which is under the lip, is the name of the product. So if stuff gets moved on on the shelf, you don't know what they're talking about. But this is funny. So I don't know how much you pay for a bottle to lead a bottle of soda, but usually it's like a dollar thirty, dollar forty. You go to some places when it's not in south of dollar seventy nine. Right, I wait till they're on sale five for five a dollar a bottle. Once a month it's always a dollar a bottle. Whatever Capepsi does it with all their products and cocol do it. I never paid dollar seventy nine. I'm not buying the one leader bottle. Kiss my ass. You're trying to rip me off. I wait until it's a dollar for a bottle. I buy a bunch of them. So I'm looking at the Dr. Brown's Black Cherry and the diet Dr. Brown's Cream soda. Not a national brand, but trust me, it's worth it if if you ever have it. So it's a dollar bottle. And underneath, look what it says, everyday savings, everyday savings. It's twice the price it normally is. How is that everyday savings? What am I stupid? Oh my oh? I must be saving money. The sign says everyday savings, So fuck you shop right this week? Five five a dollar. That's everyday savings, my friend, not every day. If I'm overpaying, all right to screw you. Turkey Hill ice cream, Turkey Hill ice cream, you see the flavor. You see the flavor on this ship. Okay, when you when you buy a pistachio ice cream, what's the one thing you expect to have in pistachio ice crestachio. Right, yeah, so, uh, friendlies at Turkey Hill sell some bullshit called pistachio almond. You know why because it's right. It's green ice cream with no pistachio. They called pistachio almond. Fuck you Turkey Hill, Fuck you Friendly's ice cream. You're gonna sell ice cream? A pista show the name pupa stats show in a thousand pursuit his chocolate chip cookies. We're gonna put raisins in it instead. I found another one a couple of episodes ago. I bitched about this about congratulating people. I'm not gonna give a last name, but this is on the school and on the college website because I was looking for more of them. I was searching congrats to Caleb no less name took sixth place in the eight hundred. By the way, I would not be congratulating sixth place. I'm just going through the Chadwick. Uh can't read, Oh, the Chad Clark At a traffic light listening to a podcast at David Brody is talking. Guy next to me put his window down and says, are you listening to Brooklyn Boys? And he says nope, I'm listening to walkers and talkers. So both people had me on on their in their car. That made my day. Erica Barras air wreck Now, if your name is air wrecker, w r EC sounds your fart a lot. Speaking of farting, thank you for reminding me that the last episode. If this is your first episode, I know we tell people listen in order, which you should, but if you're just finding us out an episode ninety seven is your first episode, please go back to episode and listen to the first fifteen minutes and then go back to zero less you were the greatest. They go back to zero. Oh and while we're talking about Twitter and social media, we have exactly four thousand, ninety eight followers on the Brooklyn Boys okay at Twitter, so we let's get that to five thousand. I'd like to see an even five k. What do you think they're Brodie, Uh yeah, at the Brooklyn Boys on Twitter? Give us the follow this picture on Amazon. I'm gonna put this up in my Instagram at at David Brody and I'll give it to Scary he can put it up at the Brooklyn Boys. Well, it's a picture of men's no show socks, non slip, colorful, casual, low cut ankle socks, invisible, no show socks. Look at the picture. You could see them coming out of the sneaker. The fuck you have one job? Be no show? Yeah no, you could see it. At least what you should do is show a shoe and a leg. The guy doesn't even have to be wearing the sock, right, because it's invisible, it's no show. I have no idea if the guys wearing the sock or not. But the guy is clearly wearing the sock because their show shop. By the way, the show. By the way, did you hear that people are showing up to Elvis's wedding showing their ankles, but guys, guys are showing their ankles. They're coming no sock yea or no show or you know. Yeah. I'm like, that's West coasty to me, that's like that. I don't know if I like that at all, except I'm getting shipped for wearing vans with with dark jeans to my to the wedding. I was told no dark jeans. I'm hearing near Pe people coming that are just gonna show. The guys that are gonna show ankle. That's tack. You think that's tacking it not. Fuck No, I don't do that. That's not my style. A right, you know me. I'm going Brooklyn Industrial Yeah yeah, right. Um. I had a major effect on the Northstrom rack near my house. Oh what what? So they have this giant sign which I probably should also put up on Instagram. It says this way to check out. It's uh about six ft tall. It's one of those flat, big wide signs with a poll on each side, so it stands flat and on both sides of it it says this way to check out. Now. On the side I was facing, it was the side facing the aisle, whereas the other side was facing Well, you have to get online. So if you were coming from the back of the store, you see the sign, you're gonna line. But if you're coming from the front of the store, you would make a left and you would go down an aisle that isn't online. So people were waiting on the aisle rather than the line. So I say to the manager as some guy walking by, and said, hey, your sign is very confusing. It's a two sided sign, but only one side points to the line and one side points to the aisle, that is the line. Yeah, so he says, yeah, I don't know. I said, well, why don't you move it ten feet back so that it doesn't face the aisle or take the other side of the sign out. I don't know when I went in yesterday, over the weekend, because we're recording this on a Monday. By the way, bonus for you people. No episode on Thursday. But you get it three days early. Congratulated. People are gonna say that that's that's not even I mean even as even it's early, it's early, it's not late. Don't get it when it's late. Anyway, I went in. They redesigned the entire area and now the sign faces the aisle. They turned the aisle horizontal now instead of vertical. The whole thing is better. I took credit for that in my mind. You get that done. I got that done. Hold on? Oh, at least I can read again with Snowflake. Hold on. Nope. Brittany Underscore and Lane loved the rant episode of the Costco Sinc. Episode. Oh this little girl, Uh, this gentleman sent this to us previously. His little girl does well listen to what she says? Can you hear this? She's like a year old, a year and a half. Mm hmmm. See if you can hear saying it. Oh, the video won't play. Hold on, here we go, failed to play video. Oh, son of a bitch. Really not the kid? The kids adorable? See if I get it to play. Let's try this one. There we go? Where what's that? Where is it? They don't want to give him back? So if they don't give him back, we're gonna say not even? What do we say after that? Do you remember it's been a long time this little girl knows. Hold on a second, she's still talking. I think I may cut it off anyway. She says, even is not even free dessert? So we love that. Uh, we'll do grammar police later, a lot of grammar police. Uh. Robert Favenger says thank you much at David Brodie at the brook Boys as Scary Jones, Mamma Brody is the greatest everyone listening episode Scary Jones got his ass fucking ripped, loving Mama Brody. Icon zero says the Brooklyn Boys episode, Holy sh it, Mama Brody is a savage l m AO. David Brodie, Scary Jones caught heat, but it's Okay, he's common, So you're common. Remember that that you were trying to see you weren't boogie? Yes, yes, I'm common. Oh. Mark Mercer Marcus two fourteen says, uh, once you show Mama Brody my tweet loving her, she's gonna want more. She's gonna demand more airtime like the Jersey Kid. But Mama Brody's freaking amazing. I got an email from Adam cried Um who said that he was at Chilies and the server came to the person beside me and then asked if something was made in house. And I had to chuckle because I was reminded of bacon was housemaid. But it's a common thing, folks, It's true. Why would you not want to order the thing that's their signature, that's made in house. Always ask for the housemade item. The housemade item is usually better. All right? Well, I don't see, all right, that person had you know what? That person knew what they were talking about. Okay, Adam, don't laugh at him. Uh. Dana d Daily wrote, Brodie, thank you so much for giving me the courage to speak up when I received bad service a pizza place took an hour and thirty five minutes deliver my food, even though the app said forty two to fifty two minutes. Not only that, but it was the wrong order and everything was hard and cold. I called the store and they were only getting going to give me a refund at first. Then I said to myself, wait, what would Brody do? New food is currently on the way with my refund dessert for the wind t Roar wrote to us, this came to us at the Brooklyn Boys podcast at gmail dot com. You can always email us there. What up Brooklyn Boys? Fellow slice here from Brooklyn. Um, Max, Sweet? What we have Italian? What is this? Max? We have? Italian? Have Greek but was raised in Greek? Oh my goodness. Anyway, I just want wanted to let you guys know that you're both pronouncing the word mossaka incorrectly. You guys are the best. I said it right, and people commented I said it right. If there are any issues with grammar punctuations, because this is talk to text, no wonder why gets moosica? He says that we're both wrong. Okaya, not musica. I told you Smusica is Spanish for music. It's mousaka. You say musica, I say Musaka, Well, what else is there? I don't know. Thomas Roar says that we're both sucking mousica. The thing is he didn't say, hey, Thomas, you didn't give us your explanation. Yeah, how's it? How's it right? You're not helpful, You're fucking Thomas. Okay, speaking of correcting one episode nine, you said you're at the French riviera and I said what other rivieras are there? And you said Mexican riviera and I said, oh, right, right, because because there is a Mexican riviera. Okay, So the cak in c a c u n which looks like can coon but it isn't. The Cakin wrote, um, I should I should be still in the correcting window time, which is not a set. But all right, But what he meant was what he meant, or he or she meant. Am I still in the window where I can correct you guys, like right away? If you're right? Yes? He wrote at Scary Jones, it's riviera maya wrong, not Mexican riviera. And at David Brody third world in habiting here the only human I know who ships on the floor is the Jersey kid. Not offended though so I wrote back, very funny, but remember rule number one when correcting someone is to be correct. I said, haha, Mexican Riviera with a link to a wiki page and another page about the Mexican Riviera, right, which is not rivera Maya. Right, the two have nothing and one's the Mayan river, right, well, the River Maya, and one's the Riviera Mexican Riviera, which means it's located on the river, not the actual Yeah. Anyway, wrote to us m A z u r E. Hey scary, it's not Moosica. Hey scary and Brody, I love listening to your I've mean not having problems with the app if an episode finishes and automatically goes to the most recent episode, For example, if episode fifty four finishes, it goes to not fifty five, no matter how I listened to the order in the app, I am often cycling or in the shower and can't get to the phone to scroll through all the fucking episodes. Is there any way you can start the app from episode zero instead of with the show with Skerri and Greg t to get to the one I need to listen to next, which is The Affair Show, which is a podcast that also co exists on this channel U with us on the Brook and Boys channel. Um. Also, I can't always listen to a full episode. Sometimes I hit pause, and sometimes I close the app. No matter what I do, sometimes the apple start off where I left off, and when I go back into the app, other times it shows that I finished the episode. This is fucking annoying because I don't remember what time I paused a goddamn podcast, or I might not realize I had finished the episode and end up starting a new one, hence missing some important info or getting yelled at for not listening in order. It could be my lack of I T knowledge, But if not, this app is shit capital s H I T Yoga Traveler. All right, So, first of all, Scary thanks for reading the ship part about the I Heart app. The company we work for, oh is that the I Heart app. The second of all, they are working on updates for the I Heart app. But here's what I will say about the I Heart app as a piece of advice. If you want to remember where you're all you are in the podcast before you close the app, take a screenshot. You take a screenshot, it'll show you the time code of where you're at, So next time you can just scroll to that point. Brilliant. I understand, Thank you very much. You're welcome. Now the app should go to the next episode you're about to listen to. They're working on that. It currently goes in reverse order. I don't understand why they They said on iPhones it was supposed to be ready soon and Android shortly after. The ability to listen in the what I like to consider the proper order, which is listening up in numbers. I don't know why anyone won't listen backwards. Their theory is people listen to the newest episode first. That's great, but then you shouldn't listen in reverse order. Makes no sense, especially like if you have like a murder mystery app like or a serial app like the app Serial. Why would you listen at the end when you find out whether the guy is guilty or not and then listen in reverse doesn't make any sense. So we've complained we're working on it, that people are working on it. We can only do so much we provide the entertainment. Erica wrote to us and said that she has to agree with you Brody on the lover Scary Lives a very luxurious lifestyle. He by the way our our name, I'm gonna do a parody man and Bougie. I'm mad your bougie. He would never be able to survive in rural Iowa. I would really love to see him work on a farm for a day or even mo lawn. But seriously, his stories on Instagram are crazy. I have to skip through them all because it feels like he is bragging about all this stuff he gets to do. No, it's called living your life and posting it like everyone else. Okay, wait a second, Oh no, no, no, no, no, but finish you You stay at home all weekend living your life, and you didn't post it because I didn't have life. I slept. I wanted to see Scary in bed. I slept, Yeah, I slept. Hold on ahead, Sorry, Scary, but it's the truth. You Well, you're welcome to come spend a week in northeast Iowa, in the middle of nowhere, to see what you're really missing true beauty here, also Brody, Since Scary still is not taking you out on your steak dinner, I think it's time for you to come to Iowa and have an even better steak dinner. Slice for life and from the beginning. Eric Erica, well, I've been I and I had a steak dinner there and it was fantastic because, yeah, because the beef. You can't get any fresher beef than you can right there in the land of America. You don't want to upset the people and own in Texas. And you live in rural Iowa, you love it. And I live in the city and I love it. And that Ti. No, no one is better than the other. And you can't fault me for liking to live my life. Erica puts a video of horror on the farm with of course she does. I don't know. I'm not faulting her for that, but don't fault me for living my life. This is how I live. Yeah, I don't think Scary's judging rural life. No, I'm as much as he's only judging his experience that he knows. But you're right, Erica, aside from where he lives, he's bougie. You can live in New York and not You're gonna live in New York, I am not. If you Adam Sandley, you'd be Bobby bougie. Hey, Brooklyn boys, my best friend Aaron and I love listening to your podcast. I started listening from episode zero and recommended it to him and he instantly became hooked. We're best friends since college and coincidentally, we're both from Jersey and it's even funnier. I'm Italian and he's Jewish. One's a nationality, right. We can't get enough of the rants, grand police, catchy jingles, constant hijinks. I listen to you guys all day in my this is by far my favorite podcast. Hopefully I'll hear you guys read this when I catch up. Thank you, Samuel Margolotti. Sam Margolotti, we appreciate you. By the way, speaking of having their name right on our podcast, I don't want to, you know, go into like a circle of a circle jerk here. But Shady ju Mobs through on Twitter said that us saying his name last week or the week before was better than when he got Yankee tickets for his fourth birthday. Wow, that's that's a that's an honor. So we just gave you next year's present. Happy birthday. And also, Vincent Wagner is very upset. I'm no, I'm actually he's concerned for you. Brodie should be. Why did it seem that the Elvis Duran Big Show is hating on Brody a lot lately? You've noticed that he referred to Brody. Elvis referred to Brodie a couple of times recently as a piece of shit. No, he didn't. And when Elvis announced that today's phone tap was done by Brodie, Elvis seemed a little disgruntled. Also, Brodie was not invited on the last trip to the Fountain Blue. Something seems wrong there. What is going on? Sincerely, cousin Vinny? Well, I love your cousin, Vinny. So, uh No, I don't think Elvis cares one way or other. Who does the phone taps? I think you may have read that wrong, and he knows. He seems to be a fan of the ones I do. Uh So, No, he's very complimentary of my phone taps, So I don't know about that. As far as calling me a piece of ship, you can't say that on the radio, So he didn't say that. Now he'll he'll jab at me occasionally because that's what we do. He'll jab at each other. Um, as far as the Fountain Blue goes, here's the way life works. You know, you have like five best friends. And then you have that six guy you only invite when there's a lot of extra room or you need, like to fill up a table. I'm that guy. So in the morning there's one to three, four, there's six people and I'm out, including Greg t because he runs in and out of the studio. There's six people that are in the studio all show for four hours, scary Elvis, Nate is three, Gandhi and Danielle four and five and me. But sometimes he people only invite the top well, they invite five people, and so I'm the six guy. You have to have like a wedding band, if you ever hire a wedding band. Right, here's what happens. You go to hire the wedding band, and it's based on what you can afford. So you want the singer, you want the guitar player, you want the bass player, you want the drummer. If you have a little extra money by the keyboard player. Then then they talked to you about the brass section. What does that mean? It means the guy goes all right, so uh, this is like normally like a nine piece band. So you can have the trombone player and then the trumpet player and two saxophone players. It will give you a really full sound. You go, well, I really can't afford all that. All right, We'll give you the trumpet player for an extra two fifty, and if you want, we'll throw in a saxophone player for another hundred. How about that? How about that? So then you go, well, I can afford the guitar player, the bass player, the drummer, and the singer and the keyboard player. Yeah, there's the trumpet and making all the trumpet player makes it sound. Give me the trumpet player. So I'm the trumpet player. I'm the guy who makes everything sound like a little fuller. But if you don't have the budget for the trumpet player, you go with the keyboard player. And that's about it. So Scary is like Nate is like the keyboard player. You can give me a keyboard player, right, Scary's on bass, and and Elvis is the singer, and and Danielle's the guitar player, and Gandhi's the drummer, and like, yeah, give us the keyboard player. And then Nick gets to go. But when they go trump bone player, we can't afford the trumpet player and trumpone player, the triangle could stay home, they canna stay home. So although you know, if you go by like how the show goes, I'd like to think I should be on all these things. But sometimes the people paying the bill down the old Fountain Blue were like, we can't afford the trumpet player. And then okay, finally, just to catch up on all this business so it wasn't personal. This segment has been called catch up on all the old email and business and crap. Uh, let's just finish this segment by talking about the Fiddler on the Roof, all right, because we gotta we gotta close that out. Everybody gave a ship. Last week, Scary was trying to make Jewish stereotypes, throwing out anything little thing he knows about Judaism, and he sang, Fiddler on the Roof was, and if I was a rich man, right, okay, And then at some point after that, for some reason, he sang, um, master of the house. Right now, Scary sang master of the house. I said words all I so, I said, all you know is a couple of things about Judaism or whatever whatever I said. You guys know the quote whatever I never said master of the house is part of Fiddler on the Roof. I just said, all you're doing is throwing out Jewish songs, Okay. I wasn't implying that that was also a Jewish song. I was just angry and yelling at him like I always do. Scary never technically said that was from Fiddler on the Roof, although listening you might think he was throwing it in with more Fiddler on the Roof songs. That song from lay Miss. It has nothing to do it being Jewish. No, it does not, And so I'm not sure why he sang it. But I didn't call him on it, not because I didn't know it wasn't from Fiddler on the Roof. It was just he was on He was just kissing me off, and I was yelling about, you know, about the old Jewish thing we were yelling about. You all heard the episode, you listen in order. So I specifically did not say it was Fiddler on the Roof. I could be thrown out of my family for that. And Scary didn't actually say it was Fiddler on the Roof, but you know, I think he thinks it was at the time. Whatever whatever it is, you know, but I'm not wrong, That's all I have to say right, which is what I illustrated, and a tweet Scary thinks I'm saying I'm not wrong because I'm not wrong, and because I'm gonna by has to Brody has to defend himself and can never ever if I'm wrong, I will admit it. I wasn't wrong speaking of that day, and it could happen. It could I've been wrong. Um. We got a tweet here from oh Kelly Battalio. She says, why does Scary Jones always use the only child situation an argument? I'm an only child and I not think or act like I'm always right. David Brodie doesn't act like that either. He is just always right, said the only child. No, she said I'm always right. She said she's not always right. She doesn't think or act like me. She said, I'm not an only child being right. I just happened to always be right. Thank you, Kelly. The only child that came from the only child by the way, hold on Shelley. Shelley wrote in another only Child, defending you, David Brodie, you are always right. That doesn't mean she's saying she's always right. She just thinks I'm always right. So there you go. I'm sure in ninety seven episodes I've been wrong. I'm sure I have, but not in this particular case. Tweet us, please all right, tell us about the time Brody was wrong. Okay, I got a couple of things I gotta get off my chest, and I got oh coming up in a minute. I got intern of letters. We have to read that, I promised him. Lust cannot wait. Now. Did you make all your intern hires? Oh? Yeah, they all start this weekend next week. And I still have people saying, oh, oh, I got a cousin's neighbor's friend wants to intern. Could you hook him up? It's a little too late for that. First of all, I'm not hooking people up to either in the position that they don't. Second of all, look it up, your broody, Can you hook it up? You're the school year started already, you your brody, Come on, hook it up. I know you got you, got you got you got, Hey, Brody, really gotta do hook up? Somebody gook me up. Guy got a guy got a a guy who pizza place. He would be a great intern. He's a hard worker. Hard worker has nothing to do with in turning. If it's a skilled thing like, oh, can I you know anybody at the hospital needs a doctor. I got a cousin. He's a hard worker. He'll work his ass off with those surgeries and ship. It doesn't work that way. I got a guy. He's all, Oh, it's guy's eager. He's hungry at that. Please, okay, let's look at somebody's cover. Let us um to whom I may concern. My name is g s those initials. I am a recent graduate of such and such university in Queens. We'll just leave it at that. Uh. First of all, if you're a college graduate, you can't intern here. Clearly says it all over the all over the website. I am very interested in a position at Brilliot, especially because this is in line with my career goals, which is to work in the technology industry. What's something in the technology industry or they spelled Brillo wrong, but neither of which has anything to do with working here. Uh, this, young ladies, initials are see why, see why, and in a minute you will see why I didn't hire her. I am writing in application for the part time internship. Oh, this person went to the same college as the last person in Queen's I. Okay, she writes, I am endeavoring who further developed my experience and skills. What the I don't know what that means? You're done? Hi, My name is VC initials VC. I am currently a raising senior at such and such university, A raising senior, not a rising senior, a raising senior. So she's raising money? What is she raising? You spelled rising? Wrong? You're out? Um? Hold on? She also love one letter can cost you the whole. She also went on to write, as your radio intern, I'd apply this knowledge to ensure we delivered engaging programs and event. Hold on, Hold on while engaging. Hold on to ensure we delivered engaging programs and event for all our listeners while staying on time. And then budget? What budget are you talking about? What does a budget have to do with interning at a radio station? What budget? What are you talking about? Oh uh, this person's initials are DF. I am currently in upcoming senior. Okay, you're out, But then goes on to say, because of my experience, I know I will bring a unique background to NBC and assist in initiatives in the global business, development and technology field. From doing further research. I see that Elvis duran Z one Morning show not our name is seeking interns in different departments. Oh, you've done research, and you see we are looking for interns in different departments. That's a lot of research. I can bring my knowledge of many of these departments. I can bring my knowledge to many of these departments. Oh that's great. Good luck at NBC. D as dumb uh And this is the last one here, um JM. JM goes to a community college in the lovely state of New York. With that said, I am applying for the position of video editing intern for the summer, spring or fall. I am available for most of the time. I am available for most of the time. Um, I'm able to work. How many hours are needed? Okay, okay, all right. I listened to the Elvista Rand show every now and then. You're out now and then, so we're not there there their first choice. Now, this is not an English as a second language person. I'm sure of it, because the part where they copied and pasted is you know, fairly well written the resume. It's the part where they're trying to add Libercovent letter that they went off the rails. I am available for most of the time him and I am able to work how many hours are needed? And I listened to the I listened to the Elvis to Rand show every now and every now and then, now and then, I think next week I'll read the one about Spotify. I have to. I just got it. I didn't put it in my pile. Uh, I still didn't do jokes some two weeks ago. Those can wait under those after the weekend, because I have a couple more from this week that will be great. And this is a short week for us. We uh, we're headed out of here after today tomorrow because we are going out to Santa Fe. We're not gonna have our recording equipment with us. We wanted originally to bring our equipment and do the podcast from out there, but we realized it would be way too hectic. We wouldn't be physically we wouldn't be able to do it. I mean as far as having the time to do it, I would. I envisioned Brody and I hiking up to the top of a mountain, doing two hours of yoga and then doing our podcast from up there Brody and me, but we yeah, we don't have the physical capabilities to do it. So so therefore we had to Yeah, there's a studio, but we can't bring all our sounds, not the jingles. Look, you got the podcast three days earlier. Yeah, exactly. This is like a this is I gotta tell you. So we did the podcast Thursday. I am not. I was not mentally ready for this, but my heart hasn't stopped racing from Thursday. And keep in mind, I still have this half of the stomach bug and I'm not and I got to do Walkers and Talkers tomorrow. I'm not right now, you're not. You still got that thing, all right, though it'll go away. Well, listen episode jam packed, because look at us, that's like, that's stacks and stuff episode. So I think we're good. We're good. I'm good, grape soda, We're good. I'll yellow next time. And I'm trying to be a you shulgar because we all tell the boy from Brooklyn dah Boys Brock Brooklyn, Brooklyn, naw Boys Brock Brooklyn,
Speaker 1: Start up by Brooklyn by Data. Have you ever head a Danny Lanier? Let me see Daniel Lanier? Uh? Oh he directed Dude Wears My Car and Harold and Kumar go to White Hassle. Oh, all right, I'll give him that. That's three.
