Speaker 1: Hey, this is christ As Stephano and this is the Brooklyn Boys podcast with Scary and Brody. Hey, we tailgating an opening day for the Mets tomorrow or what Brodie? You know what we can now? I was like, oh, we don't have the equipment. I have the equipment. Our friends at Broommate really got us going. You know, there are times that you can't have glass bottles around. You can't have warm alcohol or soda either, right, so what do you do? Brewmmate to the rescue. I bought this wine slator like a wine bottle. Yeah, you could pour your wine in there and it keeps you cold. Also, they have these wine glasses that I bought. And I also bought a glitter flask. Don't make fun in charcoal, glitter charcoal for my vodka and I could put my spirits in there. That's the best part of Broommate. Can I tell you what I got for my diet coke no ice? Now I can keep it extra cool. So I got two wine slators. My wife drinks wine and UH. I got two of the insulated fourteen hours glasses. They call him the uncorked. I got the UH, the glitter peacock I did. Listen, it's not joke. I got the glitter flak, I know, but but listen, it's it's a light blue with little speckles in it. It's beautiful and I couldn't use it this week. More diluted cocktails or wasted bottles of wine. Of course, they got thirty color options. That's gonna be a tough one. When you go to their website, you're gonna be blown away by what Brewmate has to offer. They also have this bev guard technology, which makes sure that there's never that metallic after tease. I don't like that. It keeps the warm things warm and the cold things cold, just the way it should be in a stylish way. Go to this website brewmate dot com. It's b r u m a t e dot com and use the code Brooklyn for off your order b r U m a t e dot com. Use our code Brooklyn. Brooklyn is our code off. When you use the code Brooklyn up up up Brooklyn books dot up, they make it noise dot up. Thought that up the real episode seventy nine, because last week I called that one. We found Yes, we did, we know we were really making our way up to a hundred. Well, if you keep getting the number wrong, we can be a hundred right now. Episode on, episode on, A bunch of people tweeted at me specifically, I don't know if you were on all of them, saying, oh my god, I started listening last week. I'm a trucker. I'm up to episode thirty already thirty four, and I said, so, I said to one of the guys. He said, oh, I'm I'm listening to you. Guys, I'm so glad I found you. I'm telling everybody. So I wrote back, great, enjoy the next forty five episodes. And then I occurred to me, we've done a lot of episode We really have when you because I remember doing episode thirty four and twenty one and seven and all those and thinking we are we gonna go with this. I get a lot of people that say that they're they're on their way to catching up there at number fifty two. They're at number sixty three, right, and I'm getting nervous because I'm like, I don't want them to catch up to us ever, right, I kind of if you're listening to this at this point, well, thank you, by the way for sticking with us in order zero from zero and now you're here. But moreover, I like the fact I get I get a little crazy because I'm like, once they catch up, if they're going that at that rapid rate, these people are not you know, they're gonna look for something like two three in a week. It's like, it's we can't know, we can't satisfy your hunger. It's like binge watching Stranger Things and then you get to the episode, go right, I did another episode. Right, We're doing our best. Yeah, because you'll be you know, you're caught up to speed at this point and I'm not gonna see less. By the way, We're already at a hundred and fifty and you're just hearing this now for the first time. We don't know when, you don't know. We're recording this on a Wednesday, which is not Brooklyn Boys Thursday, because, as we pointed out, we're going to the opening day Met game at City Field. Yes we're Met fans. If you're not, it's totally cool. Only half looking forward to it. I am completely looking forward to it. We're good. He's good. I know, oh, I know, I know. There are some things going on with our team that we got this guy Pete Alonzo. Is he like this, you stud You sound like someone who just like doesn't know sports. We have this Guy Pete Alonzo questionmar most people that don't most people have got a shot up being rookie the year. He's fantastic. I know it's early, so early, I don't want to get to sports. Our team looks good, you know what, this early in the season, almost everyone's teams look you know, by the way, when your team sucks and their own five already, you're like, oh, I'm panicking. But here's why I'm not looking forward to it, because the winders, the wind is out of my sales. Last week was opening day for Major League Baseball, and here we are a week in. It's almost every I've already seen five games on TV. But the banners will be up, the hoop lah that teams get announced, they run out on the field. Man, Yeah, what are you gonna do? This's not really spring here. I would you want to go to opening day in the middle of at the end of March, like the season started in the third week of most they have been opening days. Actually, by the way, don't you know to correct this? I know that Seattle and Oakland played in Japan two weeks ago. I know there's been opening days where the sun is shining bright and at seventy two degrees, and that's never the case. It's always called it's always called New York Away. I'm gonna eat a lot. You are gonna eat a lot. Yeah, I don't know what we're gonna do, so scary and eye. Uh. We are very fortunate and sometimes we get to sit behind home plate in those seats that never gets sold. I can guarantee you we're not getting that tomorrow, you know, feeling it, not feeling it. I'm feeling it. No, it's you know, it's a weekday game. No one's gonna be the twelve o'clock, one o'clock in the afternoon. It's opening day. Bro. We sat behind home plate last year, right a little off to the side, right behind on plate. We always do anyway, and we sat behind home play for the World Series. You're very cock sure. I'm sure of my yes. Okay, So here's here's the way. Here, here's just a little little behind the scenes. So up until two years ago, where we sit behind home plate, if we're lucky enough to get back there, there used to be a little um like a tunnel, like you know when you go to a concert and you walk out to the where this this, the souvenir shops are and the concession stands. There was a tunnel that led to a bathroom and a secret door, and that door was mostly not guarded, and if you were down there in the special seats, you could walk in that door. And then you heard angels, sinks because all the food was there, free food for the rich. People had free drinks, they had popcorn popping, they had chocolate chips, make your own nachos, not fancy stuff, just good, good baseball food. And that's where all the celebrities would hang out. So we we met um, uh Kevin James and uh, what's his name? I'm johnah Blank. He's a voice of the Simpsons. He's brock Meyer. Um, I was married to Helen Hunt. Uh Dan Castellanetta. No, no, no, no, no, you know what. You don't need to tweet me because I already know what it is. But like sometimes people tweet and they go, all right, all right, so we meet all these we met all these people there. That's great, Hank Gazaria A right, But here's the thing. So that's so two years ago the Mets had a little money in their pocket. I guess all this. We got a gift card for some construction. They ripped all that out and they put a new door with a guard at a lock and and and retina. Were you able to get in there? The identification So this happened in the I want to say the end of last season, so the end of right, they changed it. So um, we went in after the game, at the end of whatever it was, and they were like closing up. We couldn't get in the whole game. Scary was shaking. He's like, I couldn't get special food because they made like like upscale, like fancy fancy with a fancy door. Anyway, so we went in and Scares like, so it's a nice place. So who's in George here? I'm Scary Jones from I was Stranding Money Show, And so we met the two girls that run the place that that you know, the charge of the yah. I don't have the information right, Scary put it in in. It was gonna write it down, he put on his phone. He texted it to himself. Whatever he did touch with, well, okay, so I want special food. So the next time we went, we we we they weren't working that day. We couldn't get in. So that's the goal. The goal is to get into the special room. We've got to get the special room. Gotta get in there. Every stadium has that special room. We gotta get out. I gotta. I'm not gonna but you're gonna eat like a pig. The one. You're gonna hate me for saying this. Don't David write me. Yankee Stadium now crushes City Field in the special room department in sec We haven't been in the special room at City Field. The Special Room in Yankee Stadium is like five times the size. There's a full seafood bar. Is it better than the special room at the Credential Center with the Devil's Pay Because the Devil's that have a secret special room, but they have a fog machine. You have to walk through the fog machine to see the door. That's how secret is the Yankee one. You got a candy wall with just It's like a candy store explosion with chips, candy, ice cream and just nons everything on a wall and you get to just raid the wall for free. Okay, at the Devil's game behind the Dog. They have a troll and you have to answer three riddles just to get in that special room. And they have a sushi restaurant in the special room, and they have a Mongolian barbecue and they have cotton candy this they do and popcorn and steak. You know, he's got an even better special room than the Yankees and the Devil's the New York Giants. I saw the pictures you in that room. They got ice sculptures. Is the best. That's the best special room I ever went to. Can I can I say something about the Jets real quick? I just tweeted, all right, if you're a fan of football, because it happens in football more than most sports, although basketball is off the rails with their new uniforms. So every ten years or so, fifteen years, whatever it is, football teams will update their uniforms, make them a little more modern, and when they come out, everybody hates them. The Titans change the uniform, everybody hated him. The Marlings change there. Yeah, they get rid of that orange. Thank god, they get rid of that awful green dolphin statue in the green outfield wall. Okay, so I don't like the Mullins that they put it on the parking lot was stupid. If your mom's fan, I'm not apologizing, and don't tweet Meg, don't tweet him, don't you know what, Just tweet him. Just be that dick. Yeah, all right. So the Broncos, I remember, like nine long time ago they put that range striped like under their arm down their leg right and people hated it. That was a racing stripe. That was the road unit, that was the home UNI. Yeah. Anyway, so the Jets had a classic green and white jersey when they when they became a team in the sixties. Then in the eighties they changed to an all green helmet with a white jet logo with the letters were attached to an airplane. It looked like a jet flying. The letters look like a plane that got old really fast. And then they changed back to the classic Jets uniform. So since it's been the classic logo white helmet, which, by the way, when there was an AFL and NF hell, all the AFL teams had white helmets, the Cults, the old Oilers anyway, white helmets for the most part, all white. They released the day early the new Jets uniforms, and because I'm a Jets fan, I have to hate them. So guess what what? I hate them? Why do you hate them? First of all, not a big fan of change. Second of all, I'm tired of having black jerseys. If there's no black in your team's colors, the Jets are green and white, don't give me a black jersey. I'm sorry, I know you want to sell it. No. Second of all, they look like the Eagles jerseys. I mean, but everything is gonna look like everything, Brodie. You know why, because it's a limited amount of colors you can no, no, no, no no. The Jets green, red, orange, green, blue, indigo, violet, and those the only colors. So the light blue isn't a color. The thing is every everything is not a color at some point. With all that, are you saying lime green is the same as Hunter green? No, but what I'm saying they're similar. What I'm saying is with all the teams that are out there, there are using different color schemes. Right, So if you're if you're Jets green, and you change your uniforms to Eagles green and have silver on it and shiny helmets like the Eagles and stripes like the It looks like the Eagles. That's all I'm saying. The Patriots wear red white and blue. The Giants wear red white and blue. Didn't look anything like. So every time you take a picture or something with Jets, you should probably lighten it. You could like send it through not doing that. I hate the Jerseys. I hate him. I hate him, all right, don't don't sound don't be grandpa. That's what I do here. Well that's write I forgot. Yeah, okay, um, you know you and I went to We had a we had a wonderful weekend Resorts World cat Skills. We did. We I look by the way and the car right where the water park where the food was outrageous. Yeah, you're getting ahead of yourself. I know, I know, but we didn't eat in the morning. What I'm saying is, first of all, I love getaways. Love don't you love trip? Love trip? You love like hanging out with your co workers when you can tolerate them. And we go on a family vacation kind of like cool. I I enjoyed the downtime with the crew. Now, we did go to Resorts World Catskills, which was the casino part of it, and then we went to the we're gonna talk about your gambling problem, and went to the cart right, which is a water park called the water Park up Scale. Yes, and that was beautiful. That's to the family, of course. And we on the way back, we stopped at a diner. Yeah, we didn't eat enough for breakfast, and so we're like, let's stop at a diner. So nobody else was hungry because we vanned up there. You and I went in there like, okay, make it quick, go and grab something, right. We sat Yeah, so you and I went in and uh. Then like everyone else was like let's go in well fine, okay, So we sat down and people we were eating and we're like, okay, cool, we can we can deal with this. This is now. I grabbed the bagel from the hotel on the way out, I grabbed the bagel at the little buffet thing they had, But you brought it, you too, food from someplace else, and you brought it into the diner. People do that all the time, by the way. I had it in a little bag and was sitting there were so I ordered. Now, the ordering part is the problem. We'll get to that in a second. But I took the bagel out while waiting for the food because they were very busy, and I put the bagel on a little like the little bread plate right because I was like, I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna pick at the bagel while waiting for the food. And uh, so, okay, I'm gonna we'll reference that later. The waitress comes over and I'm looking at the menu and I wanted something different, so I said, Um, uh, can I get a caesar salad? Is? Yeah? I said, chicken sees a salad? Yeah, no problem. So I said, well listen, um, can I get extra extra dressing? She says, yeah, Um, what trussing do you want? She's we have ranch, creamy Italian blue cheese and oil and vinegar. And I said, and by the way, if you're ordering a season, what was it a caesar challenge? By definition? By first of all, you shouldn't even have to what what dressing? A caesar salad is lettuce, sometimes sardines, and a specific dressing Caesar dressing dressing. So I say, the way, that is an a raw egg based usually so I yeah, So I said to the waitress, Um, no, caesar dressing is fine, and she said, we don't have caesar dressing. We have caesar salad. Yeah, that's yeah. So she goes down the list of it. I got blue cheese and on Italian. Why would you sell a caesar salad without cesar dressing dressing? But that was strike one. Then she brings you with get jumping ahead? Man, I know, but we did a lot to cover here. There's a reason he jumped ahead. Strike that from the record, striking the record. Okay. So so then um, we we order our food. No. So I didn't want to see a salad, so I said, oh, you know what, I haven't had this in a while. Uh, you know, mede with vegetables and things. I don't like surprises. So I really my ultimate question was is there celery and the stuffing? I want enough this celery and stuff. So I said, hey, can you tell me what's in the Thanksgiving rap? So fair question, Let's go over the ingredients. Okay. So if I said to you what should be in a in a thanks get by the way Thanksgiving rack? I would love that. Bring her on, I'll take I'll eat that breast any day, that turkey. So I said, what's in the Thanksgiving rap? And so scary. What would you assume is in there turkey, right, cranberries some sort and uh stuffing? Right? And maybe you asked the question is there gonna be Is there gonna be cellery and stuffing? And she said no, I said anything else, and I need to worry about it. She said, yeah, let us in mayonnaise? The fuck. First of all, you don't put that. Nobody needs let us on Thanksgiving? Shut up, I don't care. I don't tweat me. Second of all, but I mean a lot more, you know, because I'm I'm saying angry. No, No, I'm not angry. I'm not whoa. I'm angry about this rap because this guy was downhill after this. So I want to put let us in there. You want to fluff it up, give it a little color? You do? You? You let us? Let us? Is debatable from you? Tell me where in the history books did the Pilgrims come to America with mayonaise? When they sat down with the Indians who were called Indians back then because they were naive Americans. It wasn't America yet politically correct, nobody had mayonaise. They had maze that was corn. How dare you put mayonnaise in a Thanksgiving rap bullshit. You should have known better from the season's salad. I know we were in a very small town. I understand that maybe in a small town. Uh, you know, nothing in this diner made sense. Nothing is I may sense? Okay, So, Scary orders an omelet. Hold on, what did you have in your What did you order? In your eyes? I wanted avocado caramelized onions because it was on the menu, right, and feta cheese in my omelet? Okay, I wanted that. I just wanted that, and I yeah, okay, okay, okay, yeah. So I ordered a grapefruit juice as my drink because we're having I I ended up having, uh, French toast. I was like, to screw it. I get French toast. They can't mess that up. And they didn't. It was fine. I had great fruit juice, which is why I didn't initially order the soda. So scary. We're waiting like ten minutes. All of a sudden, the waitress comes over and she says, excuse me, sir, like upset, can I help you? Keep in mind? My bagel is on the little bread plate. Excuse me, sir, don't touch that bagel. I need it back. What and by the way, it was, it was severely picked that at that point, it was like it was like in seventeen pieces, so that the bottom was still there at the top to eat around the opening, so it was clearly touched. So I said, what, uh, sir, I need that bagel back. What are you talking about, sir? Another waitress gave you this bagel by mistake, and I need that bagel from the table. Okay, I don't know what you're talking about. It's my bagel. I've already been eating the bagel. He brought it from the hotel. She says, well, then I'm gonna have to charge you for it. They're not gonna charge you for the bagel. It's my bagel. Well, yes, servants, you're a bagel. I have to charge you for it. Now you're understanding something. I've been eating the bagel. I brought the bagel with me, Sir. They just brought that bagel out. It's for that table over there. You're not listening to me. It's my bagel. I brought it, so I picked it up, but I licked it. I'm like, you know, it's not your bagel. But even if Okay, okay, even if it were, even if it wasn't your bagel, Brody, the fact that I if I'm a waiter and I'm walking by the table and I see that it's been picked out, I picked over, I wouldn't want the damn thing back. I didn't care out of the stolen it from the buffet. I'm not touching that bagel. She was actually was gonna take it off your hands, and it's serve into it, like charge me for it. It was my bagel. Okay. There's all kinds of wrong, right, So I'm looking at her like so finally she takes ten, she walks away. The food finally arrives. My French toast arrives. Fine, I figured something would be wrong. Oh no, not my turn. Scary turns. So she says, she's got three plates. There's only two of us there, right, this great tea wasn't really eating food, Greg teeth. That was sitting with an incredible amount of time, god by, I mean we were just supposed to make a little pitch stop on the way home. Just turned into like an hour. Will everyone else in the van at dead table they're eating, No, everybody's eating. So she says, I got desperate at that point. I gotta be honest. So she brings me my French toast, and then she says, who ordered the now he wasn't eating. Just who ordered the broccoli, cheddar and tomato omelet? All the things? I did not order my omelet? So Scary says, I ordered would you order? I ordered a caramelized onion feted cheese omelet, right, So so she says, well, I don't. I don't. I don't have that right, So so I think it's fucking payback for the bagel. So Scary it's like, you know what, I'm hungry. We gotta go. In my mind, I'm thinking at this point, I'll just eat it. Yeah, because if you think about it, it's gonna take an out of twenty minutes, right right, And as we've established, you'll eat more things than I will. I wouldn't have eaten it, yeah, no, okay with that, So I have latitude, good flexible, So so so Scary. So Scary's got my look on his face. He's like, and he starts eating it and he looks and two thirds of the omelet it's tucked under, it's all burnt and shriveling. He's like, I gotta say something. So I said, Scary, you know what, We've had a great weekend with with with with great food. And you know it's not like me. I said, you know, just for this meal, let's just chill like the bag. I can't believe you're the one with the cooler head. Okay, right, how can Brown you, of all people, you would anyone expect that comment to come out of your mouth. Were having a relaxing weekend. It was relaxing up until that point. Now, now the pot in the story that I didn't say was when when the woman was given scariest food, I said, hey, you know what, while you're up, can I get a diet coke with no ice? And she said, sure, no problem. So Scary is looking at his food and I'm like, hey, man, just stay calm, don't get upset. And then um uh, the woman comes with the soda and you know, like in a commercial when they're trying to sell soda and they show it in the distance and it's coming closer to the camera and angels singing. I see the glass coming in slow motion and it's got I said, And now I realized I just told Scary not to get upset, and you you know what, you could have fried an egg on your head, you know, and it could have been a part of me. I was so pissed at this woman, and part of me was pissed at myself because I told Scary don't get upset. So the glass comes and she puts it down. Here you go, sir, and I'm looking at it, liked, but I'm not yelling because I know I want to be better than Scary. And she says everything okay, and Scary looks at her like you're gonna say something, right, I said, I said, well, you know, I kind of ordered it without I said, but I said, I'll try to make the best of it. And so I'm thinking the woman's gonna come back and go, I'm so sorry. I'll get you diet you do in a good restaurant, right. She never came back. Shut up. She left him there with some water down soda. You got your my broommate, by the way, call back. Disgusting. Probably one of the worst episodes I've ever had in a dinner. I've never ever had an It wasn't all just me, no is everybody. It was everybody and that omelet was awful. Can I tell you listen, listen, if you're listening to this and you've ever ordered an omelet anywhere, I want to just I want to be real with you. You haven't. You haven't had an omelet unless you've had a restaurant. A restaurant made omelet like a proper There's a way, and listen, I'm not talking about the little frying pans that you get at home and you flip it in my or the ones that there's a way. There's a proper culinary way. And I don't want to get all fu fou on everybody, but there's a proper way of making an omelet, okay, And it's made with a lot of butter and very low heat and you keep folding it into itself. Yeah. I was told that when a chef wants to go to culinary school, one of the first things they need to do to see if they're going to go to the next level is to be able to make a proper omelet. And a proper omelet is has no brown on it. It's a fluffy, fluffed up, folded over egg with stuff in it. And I gotta tell you, it's like eating a cloud that is a proper omelet. Now you may need you might. You might be listening to this and being like, what the are you talking about? I've never seen that. That's because nobody knows how to make a proper Are you telling me that the miserable guy at the omelet station, at the restaurant or the hotel or the wedding when you go to get an omelet, Yeah, when you stand up there and it takes eleven minutes, sing the miserable guy who doesn't he didn't go to he didn't go to culinary school, and he's standing there and he just knows to shove it a little, shove it, a little shove it, a little whip it and then flip it. He's making it wrong. He doesn't. You're telling me that guy, that guy who hates his who's like hard to believe, right, who every time you order another omelet gives you the look like I gotta make another damn omelet because he's got two omelet pans and thirty seven people that want omelets. The thing they tell me, that guy isn't an expert and make it omelets. I gotta say, you know, they make it under high heat to make him quick. Here, the problem is it gets brown. You you google Google. I want you to google everybody google proper French omelet. Type in French omelet and look at them. If you get any really good adult movies. When you do that, that send us the links, betweet us. But if you google image like a French omelet, you're gonna be like, holy shit, I've never eaten anything that looks like that. But that's the way a great and I gotta say when it's made that way, oh it's so good. It's heaven. That's a real omelet. That but everyone doesn't wrong, or you gotta griddle where they where they have a spatula, that's the worst. Where they pour the egglesta and it just the eggsplodes, sprays everywhere, and they have to take the batula and kind of curtail it to a certain area. They push it and push it and push it in right so right, and then what they do is they shove it in so that the egg drips into the opening and it's nothing, no part of it rises. And more importantly, at least put in what you ordered. Who ordered the roc lane? You know I wasn't listen I wasn't looking for gore me omelet on this at this diner. I just wanted something that wasn't burned and had some decent filling in it. And I got neither. And I did the absolutely one thing that I always promised myself I would. And I think I was talked about by the way we left something. What did I do? Hold on? Hold on? The waitress's name was Carol, with forgetting something? Yes, fuck you, Carol, fuck you. So while Carol was giving me wrong ship and Brody sucking up his orders, I said, Brody, I'm about to go do this right now. I can't believe it. I got up and I walked over to the buffet portion of the dinner. Oh you broke a Cardinals Scary Jones rule and I got. I guess it was like brunch that was serving brunch bunch. I took a scoopful of prison prison eggs eggs prison eggs from the shafing dish shafing dish eggs are chasing or shafing shafing whatever it is. You know what he was up talking about in a long pan, Yeah, kind of like jagged because it was like they made it a long pan and they chopped it no flavor. But it's like it's like it's like trapezoid shape and then triangle shops. But that's how desperate you are. That's how desperate I would. That's how awful the omelet was. That was bad. Yeah, all right, you know what, I'm real quick. Um. We had her on this morning, the artist H t R. Right. The two things about H e R Number one unfortunately, uh two. A couple of days ago, we said we're having her on the show. Right. Text messages, Oh, guys, I don't know if you know. There was April one, right, Apri Fool's Day. I don't know if you guys know this, but her was killed in a car accident. So we're like, okay, Apri Fool's joke, right, right, Okay, yeah, so we're looking. We're like, okay, we get it's not funny. Another text comes in, right, her died in the Like a third text. It's like, okay, is it one of these Twitter things where celebrity died? So I look it up, like she died in Austin. First of all, it's a band called Hers h E R S. It was two guys. It's an electronic pop duo. They died in a car crash tragically three days earlier in Arizona, not Austin. It was something with an A. I guess they weren't paying attention. So thank god her is alive. In case you're like her died. No, her was on Elvis Dray in the morning shows but passed away the manager. But her is alive, which, by the way, sounds like we should be saying she is alive. But this kind it's I said, she's not her yet, right her, it's hotting her. But he's the thing about her, hold on his thing about her. Her whole thing is about It's about the music. It's not about the image and the whole thing. And that's why her name is her because she didn't want to like say her name or people judge her by her name or her age or whatever. I get it, And she said, I don't, you know, I don't I don't want to be judged. You have to be beautiful to sell music. It's not about looks. Here's what I'm gonna say. That's easy to say. She's gorgeous, right, like Horror is ridiculously attractive. So for her to for her to say that that's proper hard to say it's not about the looks. That's great that it's not about the looks because she's talented. But in addition to that, she's beautiful. Yeah, that's all I wanted to say. I tweeted that I was going to complain about how the Geico White Sneak commercial is driving me crazy. So I'm gonna tell you why. After this what's up with your boy DJ pol D Mike situation in the house, Vinny g Snooky Parties here and Dina from the Jersey Shore, and you're listening to the Brooklyn Boys podcast with Brodie and Scary. Al Right, so why do I have this White Snake song pulled up? Geico always has great commercials, funny commercials now, granted, you see them a thousand times and after while you're freaking sick of them. Okay, but that new one features a White Snake song from Here I Go Again, one of my favorite songs of all time. The song, which, by the way, originally recorded by White Snake in or nine and something like that. They did a remake of their own song. They changed one word. The original song was like a hobo I was born to walk alone. They modernized it and made it like a drifter. I was born to walk alone. But let me give you a let me give you a little bit of the lyrics to the song. All right, and now I'll tell you. You'll play a clip and then we'll go from there. The whole song is about heartache and being alone and realizing that your life is destined to be alone, and you hope if you'll fall in love someday. But Okay, though I kept searching for an answer, I never seem to find what I'm looking for. Oh Lord, I give you. I pray you give me strength to carry on, because I know what it means to walk along the lonely street of dreams. Here I go again, on my own right, going down the only road I've ever known, Like a drifter. I was born to walk alone. I've made up my mind. I wasted no more time. I'm just another heart need of rescue, waiting on love. Sweet Charity, YadA, yad, YadA. Play the clip that they play in the commercial to carry Go Get Okay okay, hi. Um. So the commercial is this guy on a motorcycle and he's playing that song and he's singing, and then and then all of a sudden, his bride at the author says, you know, like chakes him out of it. He's in a daydream, and she's like, those are your wedding vows? A white Snake song. Why would a song about living your life alone and miserable would be your wedding vows? Why would you look in your wife's eye and say, I'm just another drifter, I'm destined to be alone. That wouldn't be a wedding vows. The wedding vows would be I found the love, I finally found the love of a lifetime my firehouse. So not a song about I'm alone. So they're using this song in the commercial, right, and that's the dialogue. So nobody bothered to look up the lyrics to this show. It's like when people play Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen. It's a patriotic gate. You're gonna, you're gonna, You're about to reveal a lot to people listening. We've talked about this on the podcast, haven't we. I don't know if we did the US about the Vietnam War and how shitty the veterans were treated. It isn't people use it On the fourth of July Like it's a probably be an American type. I mean, God, bless the US, that's what it's called. It's not called Proud to be an American. Another mistake anyway. So yeah, Born in the USA not really a pro American song. The chorus is great. I love Bruce, but he didn't write it to be a pro American anthem. Here I Go Again is about being a miserable alone. I'm a drifter. I'm I'm praying for love someday. Now. Look, you could go out on a limb and make a stretch and say, maybe he meant he thought he'd lived his whole life alone, but he finally down this woman. Great, but that song is not your wedding vows. Doesn't make any sense, Geico, that's all. They're usually brilliant with their campaigns. Yeah, I gotta call bullshit on that though. I'm calling bullshit, bullshit, Brody Ah the lot going in here? Khalid is here, yeah, because so her just left now was like a parade of celebrities coming through here today. Yeah, I love him now. People say, oh, they get his name wrong. They say that it's Kalid. I'm like, no, that's DJ Kalied don't ever confuse DJ Khalid with Khalid Khalid. I mean, they're completely different. Kaleed sings, Kalid screams three words, right yeah, d J caaled right, um, all right, so, uh, I got a trip coming up next week, so we can talk about your gambling problem. Gambling problem, trying to avoid that, ye okaind of right, Well, okay, coming up too, Let's talk. Okay, let's I wanta talk about the gambling problem. All right, let's face the music. I know you wanted to get to this, all right, So I play black jack? Yes, you do when you go. And while we were at Resources World cat Skills sponsor, they did. They did take care of us for the weekend. Yes, do you have to blow the jingle on us? No, we don't. Well do you have to blow the jingle on both of us? I think, but we identified it, but it wasn't. But telling you so I'm sitting down, but this, this right here is not a commercial. It's not. We're just telling you a story table. And I have a method to the madness. When I gamble, I'll start low. I'll start like five or ten dollars, and then I will build up my chips. So if not not not enough ten five dollar ten dollar tables in the world. Right, But let's say you go on a Wednesday at nine am. You can get a five. I'm at a ten dollar table, and then I win. They give me ten dollars, so I have my ten and another ten. Right, that's how you play black jack. I'll take five of the ten and I'll stack it on my ten and I'll pull back five, so I've made five dollars putting a fifteen and then fifteen. If I win that thirty, maybe I'll put another chip and I'll make it twenty. And then because I don't increase my bets on a win, I increase my bets after a loss. See, okay, we'll get to that in a second. So so I'm figuring if I'm if I'm on a streak and this table's hot, I gotta keep not doubling my bet because then I win end up winning nothing when it all goes away. But I keep pulling back and adding to the bet, pulling back, adding to the bet. Just like that. I got on such a hot streak. By the way, just the card the cards don't know they're hot, they don't know what they but they don't might not know they're hot, broody, but it was. It was. The table was rolling, we were all winning. The deal was bust and left and right. So I finally get it to where I'm at four hundred dollars on the table, and I gotta be honest, my hands are sweating. Four hundred dollars. I get an eleven, and the dealer was showing I forgot the deal, showing the three. It was a three. Yeah, So I'm like, this is great. Now how much did you have up there again at four? Yeah? I built it. I kept I kept winning. So I'm like, oh my god, I'm like, I am now gonna double down. So I put another because that when you double on eleven. So I took another four hundred dollars and I had eight hundred dollars in one hand on the table. Oh no, no no, no, no, I won that. No I know, but I was taking. I'm like I was there with Sam. I produced changed the rules. Sam and I were looking and I'm like, oh my god, oh my god, he's gonna you know, you have to double down. I get it, but four hundred dollars extra is a is a big double down. It is it is, but you don't change the rules. If you got an eleven again said the three, you always double that. The process rules don't change because I know, listen, that's why they call it gambling, right, So whether you have ten dollars out there or a thousand dollars out there, you gotta double down. So I gotta put my money when my mouth is I shoved that four hundred dollars at Now I got eight hundred dollars on the table. The dealer flips over like a seven or whatever the case, and I had it now an eighteen. And then then I said to the dealer, I need gonna need your help on this. The dealer had a three, He flips a ten, that makes it thirteen. He draws the third card, he gets another ten. He busts dealer twenty three, busts table, win, and I get paid eight hundred dollars on my eight hundred dollars, and I'm freaking out. That was about the point where Brody stepped in and said, dude, walk away, walk away, And I said away away to me, I'm like, no, Now I'm four hundred. Now I got to increase my bed to five hundred dollars. And I said, are you fucking kidding me? And I said no, but I have to do it because on the next one I'm gonna get a five hundred dollar win. So I put it to five hundred dollars. And what happens to me? Brodie? You lost? I lost a five five hundred out, but I still have all this money that I yes, I understand it. But you always walk But here's what you do. And every time I've gone gambling with you, you win of what you actually won. Because you'll win a thousand dollars and put two fifty back. You can't walk away up. So then the rest of the day I gotta hear you explaining your winnings all we're in Atlantic City. Once you're like, I won eighteen hundred dollars, but I only walked away with eleven hundred. But I was up eighteen. Nobody cares at that point. You only want eleven hundred, Okay, so I win seventy I walk away with seventy. Yeah, but because once you win, you win. Now I know, look, I know if you walked away with three hundred, you wouldn't you wouldn't have won the eight hundred. I get it, But when you want to when you want a ballsy hand like that when you tempted fate and you doubled on four hundred, eight hundred and and we're not like multimillionaires here. This was not a big deal, and you were sweating it and your fingers were like, I just know my pattern and I know my rules, and I'm like, I gotta play by my rules no matter how much money is on the table. So yeah, so I but I walked away a winner. That's the point, Brodie. Yeah, right, so you weren't, didn't And and you were like chastising me, yes, because you should have walked away if you if you win the eight hundred and you want to put down a hundred, right, let me. I'm feeling I'm enjoying the gambling, but I don't want to lose five hundred, right, didn't do that. But you thought you're gonna win a thousand, like five hundred on the next bet. You're already up, You're up undred, walk away, look away. You were gonna walk It wasn't like you were like and you just sat down. You were there for two hours or whatever it was, and we were over there because you're like, yeah, let's go somewhere at whatever time it was. So you were getting up anyway. It wasn't like you were like, gonna be another hour. I'm the kind of guy that can't leave on a win. You can't. I have to leave on a loss had you won the five hundred, because to me, when I get a loss, it's like, okay, this they're telling me something. I gotta go now before I lose my money. Because on a win, it's like, wait a second, maybe there's another wind coming, and another wind coming, and another one, another one. You wont you want a once in a in an hour hand you doubled against the three was everything was in your favor. The cards are random, right, so the odds of a great hand again are not great. And that's the fallacy. You call it the gambler's fallacy. Well, the gambler's fallacy in simplest terms is, if you flip a coin, the odds of it being heads of tails is right. If you flip the coin twenty times and its heads every time, a gambler, usually the gamblers fallacy, will say, you know what, on that one flip, it's gotta be tails because it's heads twenty times The problem is it's the quarter doesn't know it's been heads twenty times and the odds are still fifty over a million flips. It's gonna be closer to but you you can't like I'm doubling all the money, but everything got it's gotta be tails. Well, well then it doesn't. The problem at Roulette wheels when they have the hot numbers and the cold thirty seven's come up three times. Yeah, people mean it doesn't because it's thirty six one. It's like every number. It's like when the latto. Every time when the lotto comes out, they'll say number twenty three hasn't come out as power ball ever, like, oh, it's do No, it's not. The balls don't know that. My balls don't know that. I can show their balls don't know that. Listen, my balls know when they're due, by the way, I will say that. But lotto balls they don't go, hey, you know, hey, twenty three, it's your turn, bro, Why don't you go in the hopper, go down the tube? Twenty three? Oh you baby? Yeah? Twenty three at twenty two is like I grew up next to him. I share a locker. No, twenty three doesn't know he's due, so play the numbers. It's to say people like I don't want to play one, two, three, five, six because they will never come out that way. It's the same odds as as Yeah, pack another six numbers ball is the same odds to come out of that hop. But people don't understand statistics and they don't understand. Uh, I guess that would fall into probability. Probability, Yeah, ridiculous. But what are you gonna do? You just took a sip of your diet coke. No ice? So ok, we have more to talk about right after this. Hey, this is Jim found here listening to the Brooklyn Boys. Okay, you have some unused jokes for us today? I do, But you know what, I feel like we've been ranting a lot, we really have. My voice is almost gone. Uh why? Why? Because I was yelling about my omelet earlier? Oh oh you mean from this podcast? Yeah no, no no, my not. My voice is pretty much is starting to go all right, So these are unused punch lines. These are punch lines that we gave to the room, mostly Brodie because he's the ha ha funny man in the room. And uh, they pretty much didn't get used. So we put them in a separate stack and we call the unused punch lines. And for those of you that know that already, thank you. For those of you that this is your first episode, I've just clued you into something and set up the bit properly. There was somebody who was very angry that that piste off that I repeat myself every week, repeat that sometimes people are new to the podcast. Well, I'm hoping that there's a lot of people that are new to the podcast. I hope so. But once you hear this episode, now go back to zero. All right, So here's some jokes that um I didn't get used. Elvis was talking about hiring Culture Club for his wedding and they want two dollars to appear at the wedding, and so I wrote, uh, and I took the title Karma Chameleon, and I wrote the joke Karma, come on. You didn't do it? Then, I did, huh, do you really want to charge me? But do you really want to hurt me? You didn't do that joke either. Um. Lauren Dagle, a singer, was on our show and she was talking about she has a new boyfriend. She went on Instagram put a picture up of her new boyfriend. Laura Dagle is a Christian Christian singer, but she's a crossover pop hit right now, brilliant, brilliant song. Uh. And so her new boyfriend is Mr Petain ahead and so my joke was, oh, he's so hot, he's a real spud. Didn't get to it, didn't get to it, or just a game ignored. We were talking about um dating up like people who date better looking people, and it was so I said. My joke was, while scary is the seven, but he usually dates like a seventeen or eighteen. It was an age joke because you like younger women. We didn't get to that, because this is my face. Unused joke of the week. We were talking about explaining things to parents and um Gandhi said she had to explain to her mother what motor boating was. If you don't know motor boating is, you should obviously haven't seen wedding crashers. You could tell them it's a podcast. No one's gonnac is not gonna come after mouth between someone's breath. Your whole head and your whole had to go mom back and from the moment unusually double d's are more. I have to be alright, double ds just breast sees you can't do it. You do it on the high seas, all right. So motor boat and a cup like a paddle boat. You just kind of smack him. All that's the wrong. I apologize for you don't know. I don't okay. So Gandhi said her mother was was calling it motherboarding, and so Elvis said, oh, that's that's an I T joke. And I said, yeah, tell your mom it's not I T. It's T I T. Didn't get to it. Um, okay, you got email. I got email for you. I'm not gonna play the jingle. I'm playing the jingle that sounds like welcome, You've got mail. Feel free to get in touch with us at the Brooklyn Boys Podcast at gmail dot com. Hey, Brody and Scary Scary who's scary as k E R R Y Got a little bit of a typo there. Um catching up on episodes and I had to laugh at your current quip commercial when Brodie says the line I never do it long enough, I quietly see to myself that's what she said. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to read Brodie's book. That's from Carrie jer D. So she talks to herself during our podcast as if she's part of the room Brodie, and she's making like yeah, she's like kind of like they're like with her own quips. See what I did there? I that was a quip for a clip commercial. Uh, Monique Johnson, scary and Brody. Hey, guys, written written to you guys, written you guys before in finish book and Gmail here fig it third times a charm. Long time listening to the Big Show and I've been listening to you since the beginning as well as other podcasts. I've binge listened at work and I found myself starting from the beginning to give you guys extra listens. You both cracked me up, and I absolutely love Brodie's rants. Listening to your podcast being me laughter, I'm oh my god, we have a problem here listening to your podcast being me laughter. Even my worst of days, Wow, I always chime in like I'm part of the podcast while people look at me like I'm crazy. Keep up terrific work. I restarted for Wow. All right, you should bring back the Fat Jew for another podcast. Please can't wait for another free dessert book and uh, I love you too, scary best wishes Monique bar Zoo Mati so more neat. Monique would like to see some repeat guests on the podcast, like the Fat Jew. Maybe when he's back in town. I know he's promoting his rose. He does that that the line, maybe he'll be back this summer. Uh. And also we have Stephanie Coto saying that she listened to the last couple of episodes and during episode seventy six, we were playing the parodies and mentioned something that gave her an idea, Brody, why don't you put a soundtrack together with all your parodies and selling I don't know about the other slices, but I would definitely buy it. And just on a side note, Arianna Grande song Seven Rings. In the first three or four lines, she says a t M mis dressed out before. She always thinks of us when you hear seven Rings, you're Canadian truck or Stephanie a lot of truckers. She's a she I wonder if she's any kids that would make her a mother truck. On Instagram, Aunt Liz has a great free dessert story thanks to Brodie teaching us even isn't even I got free dessert. They messed up my takeout sandwich. I wasn't leaving home to have them fix it. Needless to say, my meal was blah. After several emails and tweets, I received the twenty dollar gift card making it all right. Hashtag free dessert, hashtag even isn't even uh it's not even hashtag slices hashtag slice for life. Uh, So people are getting free dessert. We love that. Also, I want to give a special shout out to Stacy Baris at Stacy Tigger. We've mentioned her before on the podcast. Um, we were tweeting about something a bunch of us on the morning show and somebody said they loved our podcast, and Elvis saw it and he tweeted out hashtag scary and brody. Ha. So Stacy Baris tweeted everybody on the show back and said hashtag brody and scary. So shout out to Stacy was standing up to the big man. And after that she says, I have to be honest, I have to go with seniority here. Well, guess what. Here's a little fact. I've been working here for three years, years longer than you, which makes me. This seniority is a online right, to which I tweeted back, it's quality of a quantity. She is the one who's calling seniority, so she has it wrong. Scary Brodie Hey, So okay, third times a charm for Tanya. Tanya has now written us um free Dessert, a free dessert story, and I keep telling her you gotta cut this down. It's like eight pages long. If you want us to read your free dessert story, I I we can't sit here and talk, you know, read the holy email for ten minutes. But Tanya said, okay, here's the very abbreviated version. I love you Tanya for coming back a third time. But here you are. You're finally making the podcast. She recently saw Jane Lynch performing and paid ninety dollars extra for a meet and greet. When the show was done out in the lobby, she was signing autographs and taking pictures with everyone for free. Can you imagine that? So Tanya asked for, you know, paid for the opportunity to take picture is with Jane Lynch and then realizes when the thing was over, Jane Lynch was there doing it for free and she had paid nine dollars for no reason. Wow, So what is Tanya do? She wrote a complaint to the venue. They felt bad and wanted to make it right, and I said, here's how you can make it right. I want tickets to Dear Evan Hanson in April, somewhere in the first five rows. The next day I got an email with two free tickets valued at a hundred fifty dollars each in the fifth row for the sold out Dear Evan Hansen musical. Hashtag free dessert, hashtag don't take ship, hashtag slice for Life. Tanya, that was brilliant. I love the story. I love and she had every right to complain. If you think about it, you can't pay for ship that people are being offered for for free. Do you know that, Brodie that people charge for the taping of TV shows? It is illegal. Like you go see Jimmy Fallon and I'll get your ticket. I want to give everyone this little tip, just it belongs to Brodie. A little tip is Brodie's No, I'm Jewish. Every single every single TV show that is broadcast television or cable or whatever that there they have a live audience. Those are free shows. It is illegal. It is illegal to charge admission to those shows. So if you find yourself somehow paying admission for a ticket to the taping of Jimmy Kimmel or Fallon or whatever, or or Saturday Night Live, you've been had and you better find out how, because you mean how, they already know how well you got scammed, because because they've someone somewhere along the way got hold of free tickets that were camped at zero points from zero and they up charged and they got whatever. You know, whatever you well, is there profit. A couple of years ago they caught a guy making thousands of dollars in New York. There's a ferry that goes from the tip of Manhattan, the southern tip of Manhattan the Staten Island, which is one of the other boroughs. It's an island, obviously, Staten Island across the New York Harbor, and it's free. You get on it. It's for commuters basically, and by the way, you come to New York, take a stet On ferry ride because it's a beautiful view of Manhattan. It's a relaxing ride, goes right past the Stature Liberty and it's free. Okay, there was a guy who would stand outside and give and sell discounted tickets to the Statn Island Ferry for like three dollars, oh five dollar tickets again with three dollars whatever. He made a shipload of money and people were buying tickets, you know, tourists, and the thing is free, so be careful people. Um, And just a couple of quick shoutouts. I gotta talk about the woman at the casino at the bar Okay. First of all, some old school fans of hours that these are slices for life, and they pretty much created the fan clubs. Omar checked in on email, Marie Dan checked in, and we have to say congratulations to Jennifer Yee. She got engaged. Congratulations what do she very sneakily. I don't care if it's a word or not. It sounded good good. She sneakily called the morning show, got on the air and then was talking about her engagement yesterday and then slipped in a hole, you know, shout out to all the youngs and the larks listening on the Brooklyn Boys Society page, and and Elvis was like thrown for a loop, like what And then it didn't occur to me until afterwards that that was Jennifer Yee. Yeah, but she was a big fan. If you go on Twitter, take a look at her engagement ring. It's beautiful. You have to go on the Others train on demand channel for yesterday's show you can hear do it. Yeah, that's awesome, all right. The last thing one of the things that we got to do with the resorts Roy Casino. I love how we were going to start with this. So this is like first things last. Yeah, we would get a mixology class. So what that means is we had a bartender assigned to us like a little tutorial, and we were at the end of this long bar. The end of the bar was where you know, the end of the bar where it curves and then is that short side where usually the waitresses waiters will come over as a service counter service counter. When the waiters and waitresses need a drink, the bartender will give him the side drink. They could bring it to the table the service bar, service bar. So this one what was her name, Jenore, it was Melanie whatever. It was really nice bartender works at the hotel and she's teaching us how to make drinks. I loved her. And two things happened. At one point we were like, what kind of drinks do you like? So I said, make something with southern comfort. Right again. I don't drink a lot, but I like a little something. Okay, So she makes me a drink. The Scary says, I want a whiskey drink. So she's what kind of whiskey would you like drink? Drink? Right, I thought that same thing I said, sid So Scary says, uh, give me a bullet with ski. So she goes, oh, good choice, and then as she's walking away, Scary goes, yeah, well of course I I have. I have have good taste. You were so proud of yourself that she said that there was a good choice. You're like, I have a seasoned, professionally trained mixologists. And when you get a compliment from someone like her, you could have said like, yeah, you said that I have good taste. That's great, thank you. Okay, Okay, First of all, that was the equivalent of a stripper flirting with you in a nightclub. Okay, she's not really into you, dude. She doesn't really think you have excellent taste and whiskey. So anyone who knows whiskey, which I don't. I asked him about it. They were like, Bullet is like, it's fine, but it's not like you picked like a top level whiskey. You picked like whiskey. It wasn't McAllen ai right, right. So she was like, oh, excellent choice, sir. That's like when you go to a restaurant, I'll have the Santa Margarita Pino Grigio. Oh, excellent choice, sir. It's a twelve. You're trying to say, is you think that she says that to every customer and you bought it. You're like, oh, I guess I do have excellent taste. You're like all proud of you. So you bit hard? You've dream since Saturday night? Oh yeah, not at all? Okay, So so anyway we're doing the drinks right. This woman, I want to say, she was like, uh sixty years old just to paint the picture, and that ratty dyed blonde hair that looks like she's been dying it since you know, nine And she she comes up and she says, excuse me, miss uh, I need uh I need two beers. Whatever brand she was, I don't remember. So the mixologists are bartender, who's giving us this mixology class doesn't hear her. So I turned to her and I said, excuse me. She looks at me like, yeah, she's already had a couple. By the way, these one of her first two beers. I said, excuse me, just so you know, she's teaching a private bartending class, cause so if you want to get a drink, you should probably go around to the main section of the bar. So she says, I only want two beers. And I said that that's great that you only want two beers. But the bartender is teaching a private class. She's not taking orders for drinks, and you're at the service bar where the wait staff gets drinks. So I'm just trying to help you. You need to go to the main bar. She says, hey, thanks, I don't need you to help. You help like that. So I say, okay, great, stand there for all I care. Now I've got an attitude because I tried to help her nicely. So she's standing there. She's like at miss at mess And at this point our bartender has gone to the middle of the bar to get the drinks. The top shelf liquor medium shelve liquor that you and I have ordered Khalua and Southern comfort and whiskey walked away. So she comes back and comes to make our drink at miss and I look over. I go, she's not going to help you. She says to me, you be quiet, So she so she says to the excuse me, and our bartend to turn started says, yes, can help you. I need two beers, and then our bartender very nicely sister her. I'm terribly sorry, ma'am. I'm teaching a private class. But if you'd like, you can go over there, and the bartender be glad to help you. I'll let him know you've been waiting. So she she's like, oh, okay, thank you, and is now she has to turn in my direction to go to the middle of the bar, but she doesn't want to make eye contact at me, so she's looking down. So I don't know if you noticed this, scary I leaned like this backwards and I leaned so i'd like in her line of sight, and I said I told you, and she kept walking. So fuck you, Mary Sue, because yes should have left her and it needs yea. I just want two beers, you know. I don't know if her name was Mary Sue, or not. I guarantee you. She had two first names, absolutely Bobby, Joe, and that's not an offense of Your name is Suell and I apologize. But this woman two names and she wasn't paying attention to anything. I said, I don't need you telling me what to do. I got okay, then stand there. I was trying to be nice. See what I get? Scary trying to be nice. I get nothing, get nothing, nothing you get, you get, you know what? She got what she deserves too, And I was nice even though you know you know where I'm from. Of course. Now we just got a text message that said, hey, I don't know if you Brooklyn Boys are recording now, but you fuck me up. Man. I keep refreshing the podcast app looking for the new episode. So this person is sitting there with their phone in their hands, clicking, clicking, clicking, but it tells you your phone, I know. Will you tell them that? Because I just called them back? Hello?
