Speaker 1: Start Up, dot Up, start Up, Brooklyn Boy, start Up Brooklyn by they make a noise dat up Up Episode three three it's the Brooklyn Boys Boys podcast. Yeah, I'm Scary Jones with David Brody. No, it's Brody and scary. By the way, that with means you're not equal, right you hear any kind of thing with a with that means like, oh, it's like Katie Perry with Snoop Dogg no feature. I always said that. I'm like, I feel like that the with implies that the second person is not equal to the first. It's lesser. There never agree to do a show of any kind or a song or anything unless you understand that. If you're with you're like like, oh, and I brought this guy's like my lunch. What about feature? You ever see a song? I just said, fat on here we've seen written in our computer because when we have our song title, it's the title with the artist. So sometimes we see an artist slash other artists and then it's a duet. Right then we see slash artist with so and so artist feet f E A T featuring this and I saw a new one recently. It's like Queen with Adam Lambert, Like Adam Lambert is fantastic, but he's not in Queen rue the legacy that Queen left. By the way, it's Queen and Adam Lambert, right, I think it's Queen plus Adam Lambert. Well that was That was the other one I was getting to write, when you see an artist, it's like so and so plus this person. Right now, that's something No disrespect Adam who you know. I'm a big fan of Lambert. He's amazing, But it's still Queen. Like it's Queen at Adam Lambert. It's not. Well, I guess the end makes it almost equal. But if it was Queen with Adam Lambert, that wouldn't be eagual. I'd be like, oh, we hired Adam Lambert. Yeah, I'm looking through our system right now, or a lot of them is just slash or and yeah but with And the reason we made that joke is that Uncle Johnny said from the Big Show Johnny at the book signing, at the book signing with Elvis, and it made it sound like like Elvis was like, oh and you Elvis will be joining Uncle Johnny. He got with don't get with always demand the end. By the way, did I just see you sniffling at the beginning of this podcast that. Yeah, No, I didn't do I would like that little little snort, clogged, clogged start, you know, you start doing that and then I feel tickling my throat. No jokes, but I know it's true though. I feel like something is about to go down, like it's going around whatever. That is no jokes. By the way, speaking of no jokes, you know, we've had our sexual harassment training here at the office, and so I was out at the front desk area. You know, Anita, the queen of first impressions. We love our Yeah, let's do let's who people. That wind down is my favorite. You're a new slice, Yeah, you're you're This is Anita. This is the sound of Anita, the front desk receptionist. She is as opposed to the rear desk reception absolute who agreed to people as they leave. Favorite still doing that was lower than the weird Yeah that was right. I have to scary, said my aunt just died. No, no, no, okay, sods. So we were outside just now before we started recording the podcast, and somebody asked me about, um oh, Anita has a curse? Jar if a cuss jar. If you curse, you can put money in the jar. Really, And so there's a guy working out there. I've never met him before. I think he's at temp but he's sort of like he's helping her out. Let's her go on break covers the front desk, and so he's like speaking of cusses. How come because Anita said, oh, someone's an idiot, right, and he goes put money in the cust jar. That's not a curse, it's an insult. There's a difference. Said first sance bitch, we say bitch on the radio. Now people in the South often will say, how come you can say bitch on the air, it's a curse. It's not a curse, it's an insult. It means in essence, you're acting with the personality of a stuck up female dog, like you're prissy. But it's not a curse. Worde right. So I started explaining something, some of the rules of radio. So then he says to me, can you say uh you can you say asshole? I said no, you can say ass and you can say whole, but you can say asshole. That a misa. A mail room guy says, well, why can't you say asshole? That's an insult. Yeah, but it's a derogatory body part. You're you're using slang for a body part. So I said, I can call you a dick, but I can't say kiss, touch, polls suck, lick that right. But I can say you're a dick, right, I can write Okay, called to each other all the time. So then this guy that I've never met before goes, how about Anal? So I said, dude, I just met you. Some of that's the reaction Anita had. Of course she did. She has that reaction to I jump going down for some Starbucks, right right. So I said, I I just met you, like, and it was like, look at me. Went's not saying anything. Could be a joke if you if you say it the right way. So we went to this event last night. Correction I went, I did not go. Yeah, well you didn't. You had a prior engagement business to take care of. So I was. It was Elvis's book signing. It was in Huntington's Long Island, which is far out on Long Island, very far, not all the way, but enough that you're reminded why it's called Long Island. It's very long time to get there, and you should. It's not really an island in traffic, it's a peninsula. Well, it's a peninsula unless you include Brooklyn Queens then it's an island. Correct, So but it doesn't really sit. Yeah, it's it's a peninsula. Really, look at it on a map you'll you'll understand quickly it's not separated. Right. So anyway, point Is went there, hung out. Elvis was getting his book signed, or they were signing. He signed his book and taking pictures. But they brought Elvis to another floor and then they left me with Uncle Johnny. Me with Uncle Johnny, even though it's bad grammar, it's not. With Uncle Johnny. Uh and a couple of other people who producer Sam was there and Scotty b. We're all hanging out listening and meeting the listeners. I gotta tell you, Brodie, I wish you would with me yesterday because there was so much love in that room, not only for Elvis the big show and why they were there, of course, but for us, for the Brooklyn boys. Now, who's your where's your other hats? Gary? Where is he? Is that a Peter Millar jacket? You're wearing shirt. I got no less than three Peter Millar references and make a mark on here. We have to send us to sales. We gotta get them as a client. We gotta get Peter Millar. And then why do we have an email about that? I haven't. I haven't haven tweet about it. So people were saying, you know, Peter Lar, this and that, and then they were like, just but just everyone was so friendly, Everyone was so nice, you know, and I was just it would have been nice to have you. I missed being there. Uh, Split Sweet Marketing at split Marketing. My boyfriend's uncle sent this in the mail today. I died laughing. He goes, what is Peter Millar? He got a Peter Millar jacket and it says Peter Millar. So, um, it's Millar m I L L A R. Somebody asked me what Millard? They couldn't find Millard. That's Millar, Peter. So but if Split Sweet Marketing is in marketing, then let's get some marketing, and let's get us Peter Malars and ever a thousand percent now, somebody said, um. Paul Hickey wrote to us at the Brooklyn Boys podcast at gmail dot com and why can't I remember that Peter Millar is on the loose my friends, our phones really are listening to our conversations. Screenshotted and Instagram add that was embedded in his feed for a Peter Millard that is from Paul Hickey. So apparently if he's listening to the Brooklyn Boys on his phone. We mentioned Peter Millar's at nauseum in the last two episodes, so we're selling stuff for the phone is listening to that. And I started advertising Peter Millar an idea and by the way, we don't get a cut of that. Peter Millars should sponsor the Brooklyn Boys T shirts if they don't make maybe they do. Would be the finest quality of Pima cotton. By the way, I have no idea what Pema cotton is. Well, then how do you differentiate Pima cotton from Egyptian cotton. I don't know what the difference. I just cotton cotton, get it off to get it on his Egyptian cotton made in Egypt? Is it made with Egyptian sheep? Like, what's the difference? Or is it a style of the way that they weave it together to make it something? To make it like pyramid shaped, don't tweet us. Yeah, well, we'll look it up. But by this time, yeahah yeah, okay, But so the point is like they just it's like, okay, there was a commercial that used to run in the eighties, long time ago. If you who Ricardo montal Bond was. He was the host of Fantasy Island, old TV show, and he was con in star Trek to the Wrath of con Okay. He used to do a commercial for the Chrysler Cordoba, which doesn't exist anymore. It's an old car. And then and everybody remembered that the car had rich Corinthian leather, right, and it sounded luxurious, right, rich Corinthian leather. There's no such thing. There's no such thing at the time as Corinthian leather. It had no meaning. It wasn't like a high grade leather. It was just that came up with it and it was great, something like is Egyptian cotton? Like, by the way, I can I google it? You enough to tweet us about it just seems like a scam to me. It's you know, and here's another thing. This country. It's all about American pride, right, It's all about made America. We're America, Merca, right. We love America, right, But everybody wants to make more money so they can buy foreign cars as sam. But then what are we doings in the air? We save up, we buy foreign cars. I don't drive a Dodge so oh, and they go Swiss timekeeping right by a watch the commercial Swiss time. We're America, we do time keeping. We do time. German engineered sports car, let me tell you something. You're gonna if you go for what about American engineered sports car? Buy a Corvette. Like I'm saying, if you're really an American, you're like I am tired of other countries and an American voiceover people on American television. I have to buy Swiss made. No, no American chocolate. That's what I'm saying. I like you, this is great. This is a brand new Brody. I'm watching a Razor commercial German crafted blades. What America can't craft blade? Brody just ripped open his shirt and it was a T shirt underneath, and he read white Blue Baby with American Latin is made in New England. And although they spawn so the stadium with the Patriots play, it's funny America you mentioned Gricardo Montle Bomb and what was his car, the Chrysler Cordoba. What would it sound like if he was actually advertising for the Chrysler New Yorker. Here's Ricardo Monto Bomb and the Chrysler New Yorker. This luxurious automobile has always delivered the performance you'd expect from a New Yorker. And now Chrysler introduces an onboard micro processor which even speaks to you just like a New Yorker. Hey, moron, you want to put on your seat You're to eat the steering wheel. I yes, this is truly a New Yorker genius. You let the guy a headlights on? Jeez, you want dumb? Oh you know that? And for the most dangerous city in the world, a security system second to none. Bagel prays, you want to lock the doors? Or maybe we should put a good signed up, says rip me off. Yes, the cries learn New Yorker. If you can't find the better luxury car by it, I got your luxury right here. And another thing, Brodie wishes you could take credit for that. He did not write that. I don't wish I could take credit for it. That was very good. That's a good bit, although they didn't beep ship well enough at the end. It's act an old z Morning Zoo bit. That's from back in the Dead prior. That's that's Dr Dave. That's b dB before David. Oh my god? Who is this on my phone? Hello? Hey? Are you going to? Am? I going where I gotta go? Who's it? You're live on the Brooklyn Boys Off. I don't want to be well, why are you calling when you know when we recorded? I have no idea your podcast is not that important that people would know exactly. Oh, get a load of with Greg Tea over there listening. Everybody knows what you guys do, and you're scheduled. They don't you do? You're here all the time. Thursday you barge in? Is the Jersey kid? I do not. I don't even know what the Jersey kid is? Oh, listen to new approved Gregg Tea. You were here last week. Nah, I walked in and say hello, but I don't really think about that. You were wearing a hat that said I'm the Jersey kid. Nah. Honestly, it's kind of embarrassing. I wouldn't want to be Do you have amnesia? What happened? Man? I thought, what happened to Oh, I know he's got host hosses now that he's the host of a morning show. He doesn't remember his days trying to sneak into our podcast. I mean, I don't remember any of that stuff. It sounds like something that somebody foolish would want to do. Hey, by the way, by the way, while you're here, while you're here, go ahead, no, no, real quick, real quick, tay while you're here, No kidding aside, go ahead and plug the go ahead and plug the full name of your show? What the full name of your morning show? Go ahead and plug it. I'm not here to discuss anything. No, we here to promote you. So good, he doesn't want to do it, all right, that's okay, great? What do you want? Trying to help with your question? Am I going where tonight? The event? Are you going to the event? And I was just checking to see how you're getting there? What are you going? Could have texted, I don't think is there a Is there an event tonight? I swear to god, I don't know what you're talking about. Did I forget about something that's not on my schedule? All right? Want to invite it's not a deal. Oh my god, I guess it's only for hosts. Holy shit, I'm I don't wow. He's playing the host card on your skire. You weren't invited now, you know how I feel? You're doing something. You're not doing a Broadway thing? Oh funk? Is that tonight? Is it in the six six something? Yeah? Yeah? Is that tonight? I swear to God have a podcast. Come alright, that's he's gone and plug your show six to eight o'clock. Okay, all right, I gotta make arrangements now to be there. I didn't know that, all right, all right, all right, well i'll call you and I'm a couple of hours when we're done to you call him during his show tomorrow and asked to get on the air. Oh, come on, Brodie, what I don't know if I maybe? Um I was. I told everybody in sales I would be there, but now I'm not. I don't know if I'm gonna be there, but but now it sounds like I have to be there. All right, we'll Brodie's falling asleep. He's giving me zs. He's no, I'm not snoring because this is boring. No, I'm not all I don't think you. I don't think you have to be there. I mean, you're not really like a morning I told you at speaking of morning show host catch Greg Tea with Carolina with Greg Tea in the Morning. That's right, all right, yeah, I mean, honestly, it's probably for people like Elvis. And I was putting himself on his on Elvis's level. I am, he's a host, you know what. I gotta be honest, he kind of he's a host. He's a host of Carolina with Greg Tea in the Morning in New York City. That's right. So I'm you know, Elvis is my competition. Now, that's right. We shouldn't be promoting Carolina with Greg Tea in the Morning, but we should. He's a friend, yeah, all right, but it's all good, all right, all right. It's probably from people like me and him and you know the big wakes, right well, like dude take notes. Yeah, alright, I love Daniell will probably have to be there. You're making me feel like shit. You realize that, well, maybe your producer Nate, you know, maybe he's doing his job. You know, I gotta be honest in in retrospect, maybe we should have the Jersey Kid on He's got cloud now, right, and you want to get stuff done? I mean, obviously I'm getting stuff done. Yeah, alright, scary your out, Jersey Kids in Jesus, Fuck you, Brodie, fuck you again. The name of his morning show, Carolina with Greg Tea in the morning. Check it out when we're on vacation, when we're on vacation. A. Well, that was that was something. Yeah, well there was something else I had to bring up from the Huntington's Books signing yesterday, and I forgot what it was and had a lot of people ask for the Jersey Kid. No, they asked, you know what they did, ask if I missed the Jersey Kid, and I do. I do miss the Jersey Kidd. He's back looking at it, he called us. Well, that that's what people don't realize. I love the way he plays the nut roll. I don't know you guys are recording now. Of course he does. Well, he's right down the hall and we talk. So he's a good guy. I talked to him yesterday. He did. Yeah. The conversation a text message conversation with him back and forth for about ten minutes. Because people want to know if we still if there's still, uh, gas in the tank after someone leaves. Yes, there is. Don't even know what that term means. Gas in the tank in regards still someone leaving, I don't know. I don't think that works. Is there is there? We still talking after death? Yeah? People move on, they have different jobs. We've talked about this, People like, oh, you should phone tap him, you should call him. Why would we do that? How would do that? You work for Pepsi and your friend goes to work for Coke. You don't, Hey, let's call him up and let's let's you know, no, You're like, I'll see you after work. But you know what, Hey, guy from Coke, come spend the day with us and hang out at Pepsi, but still work here. Mike. Let's fight the come back. We talked about that. Um okay, So I got some stuff, some small you got stuff. I got some small stuff I want to clear out. I reminded of some big stuff coming up. I want to save the big stuff for the middle. Let's not get today yet. A couple of things. Uh. We got a text today. I don't know who sent it, but thank you. It said Brody is always right, So thank you. Don't know who sent it, but thank you an opinion. That's well, see you're wrong. Okay. I corrected my intern today because she sent me her homework assignment and it said my mom text me. No, it's texted. The past tense of text is texted. People go, oh, yeah, I text her yesterday, and that's like saying I walk home. I walk home yesterday. It's walked. It's texted. Uh. My friend Jeff, my buddy Jeff, who's slowly becoming a student of free dessert. He's gone out with me to many a dinner. He texted me yesterday, texted me yesterday and he says I got free deserve him so excited, I go, what what happened? He was, well, I have my laptop, my MacBook Pro for uh like a year and a week or something not not not. It was just it was still in a warranty. Whatever it was, I remember the details. Whatever was right out of warranty. And he says the battery went bad. Right the batteries was the last five years. The battery went bad. He says, I got the battery replaced. They sent they sent me a new battery for ninety dollars. It's usually much more money. It's a waste that that's that, that's even I said. I said, yeah, I said, that's not that's not by the way for it. Yeah, I should have replaced that ship. I said, free dessert is they give you the battery for free and then fifty bucks to the Apple Store for the time you didn't get to use your computer. So now he feels bad. He was all excited and I said, that's not free. That's now. I have real free dessert stories where we can talk about later. But that one was like, come on, Jeff, that's mine only I go gets that's rookie move. Well, we got free dessert from our friends at FIGS. We wanna talk about free disert already from fig you know, well, well they wanted us to see what their scrubs were all about. When yes, I did say scrubs. Um, everyone knows someone And by the way, I want to say, I am neither of us as a medical professional. But well, first of all, we all know nurses, doctors, dentists, people who work in that field, the healthcare. But I mean they deserve the best clothes to be put on their body. I mean sometimes people just sometimes in that field, everything is static and everything is like it's like looks like starch with the big strings hanging down. So, yes, I was in a hospital yesterday, but we'll talk about why I was there. It doesn't really matter. But I would say, and I noticed because now that we're working with Figs and we have fig products fixed products, I looked and they're all like those awful green This one woman who was helping my mom, she because my mom was in for a little something. Uh, she was like shapeless. It was like she was just wearing a sheet and it was that. But so Figs hooked us up with a code scary and I got something. Got to order some problems like check these out, check these scrubs, pick whatever you want. So I ordered a couple of the V neck tops right, and a couple of the shirts that go under the V neck tops you can long sleep, short sleeve, and I ordered, uh cargo scrub bottoms I had. I ordered an entire outfit, and I gotta say it fits me well and I feel better wearing them. And I'm not even a medical professional. I'm not either, as what I said, But don't you think that the people in that field, these are amazing people that take care of us every day. You should have a better quality of clothes. Yeah, because you want them to feel good. So the cargo pants, let me them on the tops, which, by the way, I'm gonna wear the tops out as if you Okay, The cargo pants I got don't have the strings. They have like a yoga band at the top, right, so they stay up. But they've got pockets on the legs for your iPad for a like a small clipboard for your if you had a calculator or whatever whatever you needed. And I don't calculate, I don't know whatever you needed. But it's got zippers and pockets and and they're slimming. They're not like just formless pants. So if you don't know by now, Figs is this company we're talking about. They're amazing. They make scrub stylish and functional for people that deserve it the most. But they're also antimicrobioal. They're protecting from germs and bacteria. But Figs gives back scary absolutely every time you shop at Figs, they give scrubs to healthcare providers in need around the world through their Threads for Threads initiative. So now when you shop at Figs. You know that you're going to get something great for yourself or give something to someone that needs it and and I'm talking about or give someone like you in the in a medical profession by a gift. You're giving a gift and you're helping Threads for Threads Initiative UM. Now. To date, Figs is donated hundreds of thousands of sets in over thirty five countries. Figs, Yeah, thank you so much. Now it's time for you to get off your Figs by going to this website where Figs dot com. W A right, not where like where is Figs. It's w E A R figs dot com and enter our code boys check out get off your first purchase by using our code boys. So, whether you're one of the most awesome humans that works in healthcare, are someone that just wants to say thanks to these someone that wants to lay around the house in really nice clothing like us that we're doing where where figs dot com and uh he weard boys, we have a pile of stuff. I gotta talk about brunch. Oh no, not yet, all right, let's save brunch. Yeah, you know what, we put up a lot of pictures scary and I went for brunch because because you are the most ungrateful motherfucker on this planet. Ungrateful. Okay, but you're you're impatient, You're all that. I'm not impatient. I don't like getting lied to. I don't like you trying to get the star treatment the whole time you were obsessed. Would be in scary jones. Not true, because if I was, I would just come right out to them and say, Hey, I'm from the als Rancho. Can you get me a table? Did I do that once? Alright, Let's let's back up. You said to me, Hey, Brodie, let's go to lunch. Let's go to Siddel's. Now Siddel's is a brunch spot. It's a favorite of mine. It happens to be a hot spot in Manhattan. But that's not why I go. I go there because because they've got amazing Jewish Kosher style, Kasher style food. They have the best when it comes to blintzes and potato latkis and matzo ball soups and all the fun fish that you might know, salmon and locks and and whitefish and sable. If you are you know that, if you're in that world, you know what we're talking about if you're not, you just know that it's it's a thing, and it's especially a New York thing, and these people do it better than other people know. I'm gonna comment just on that. First of all, I feel like he asked me because I'm Jewish. He felt I would appreciate the food. I feel like there's nothing wrong with that. But what somebody wrote on Twitter, did you Maju Brody? Well, yeah, I didn't you know you did. Ma. I'm gonna get to that a minute. It's my jew I'm gonna take you from at the end of this story. I'm gonna point out how you majude me, but not yet so scared you guys. Come on, man, it's the only day we can go for lunch. Let's go for lunch. I was being thoughtful, you were being well at the time. I thought you were. So we went to this place. And here's my mistake. I took the word of an Italian kid from an Italian neighborhood on what he feels is quality Jewish food. The problem is when you grow up Jewish, like any culture, whatever culture you're part of, whether it's Southern culture, Indian culture, whatever your culture is, your mom, your family when you grow up with that's what you think about when you think of that food. Your mom's sauce, right, your mom's scrapple, your mom's pancakes, whatever it is, or that your grandmother, your culture. Right. This place took the regular recipes right, and they had to make it fu fu. Remember remember when we talked about a couple of weeks ago when we had the fourth finalists for America's Next Food Network Star and we're like, we had a chicken palm competition and all he did was put sauce and cheese on a chicken breast and he cooked it. He had in a couple of little spices, but that was it. And then everybody else was like plain grilled chicken breast with balsamic glaze. Like, don't funk up the basics, is what I'm saying. Right, So the food at Saddel's and I and by the way, they're not a client, not a client, be honest. It was well before I get to the food. But let's talk about everything in the order. I want to go in order, Like like people who listen to scary says, I'm gonna I'm gonna go. I would see it. Last time with Bobby Flay, we got the best table, table sixty five. I gotta get the sixty five six, the best table. It's up on the top. It overlooks the whole floor. Everyone looks up at you. It's the hot seat. He walks up to the to the girl at the hostess stand and it's packed. He's like, Brodie, I don't watch so busy. It's never just busy. It turns out. But he was a Jewish holiday. And by the way, some jew you are not knowing it was a Jewish holiday. I wasn't putting two and two together with people go in there until we got going to the hottest Jewish restaurant in New York City from at at brunch time and on a day when everyone was off from school. All right, you didn't know. I wasn't in there because honestly, on on on a Monday or Tuesday morning, I thought would be plenty of tables. I did so too. I thought, okay, but why is it so packed? And he's like he Brody did the fucking like the emoji on It's like the the hand, palm, the face pant. I forgot, okay, but then I was like, I guess the place is good. So Scary goes up to the count Scary goes up to the county. All right, Scary goes up to the counter, and I stand like ten feet away because I'm like, he I know he's gonna do. I'm like, I wonder if he's gonna say his real name, Anthony or his last name radio name Scary. Well, okay, on any given day, on any other day, I would be Anthony. As soon as I saw it was a mob, uh, Scary Jones. And then and then he said, I just said Scary, but he didn't. But he didn't. He did it in a way like you were, like, I hope she recognized what your in last name. I said, Scary. That my fucking last name, by the lady. For those who just joined us, I'm my name is Anthony Scary and my radio name is Scary Jones, just thrown in. I don't know how that some radio kidd in college. I don't know why I like to drop the Jones. I just want to be called by my last name. Everyone else in Brooklyn they called by their last name. I'm not all the ant all the Anthony exactly, Dick every Anthi Brooklyn, okay name, So I was always scary, scary, scary, so I'm not paying attention. Whatever scary comes out and he goes, hey, Brody, he's uh, forty minute wait. I go, uh yeah, all right, well and he's like it's really good though, it's worth the forty minute wait. Like I I'm kind of hungry, but all right, now you were looking at the delicacies. You were looking at them. Well, the bagels look pretty good. You didn't want to leave there, smelled great, it was fine. They make the bagels in front of you. The guys are in a glass case and then inside the glass case and you could see them through the windows making the bagels. I mean, what's more exciting than that? So then we're waiting, waiting, waiting, were there like twenty five minutes, and he's like, maybe I should mention I would he with Bobby Flay? Maybe I should I go, why you're not Bobby Flay and I'm not Bobby Flay. What are you gonna say? Hey? Last time I was here, I didn't do that, No, but you could. I talked to you out of it. I was like, what are you gonna say? Hey? Last time I was here was with Bobby Flay. Now I'm with Brody from my podcast That's to Night. I'm gonna give us a table. That girl wasn't a Slice for Life. The Slice would have given us a good table. So we're waiting, waiting, waiting, and it's good. Goes, I gotta make a phone call. I canna go outside. I take this call, very important sales call. So you were yelling about some ship, about money whatever. You went outside. So I'm standing there for like you on the phone for like twenty minutes, at least after ten minutes. At that point, we were a half hour. So when it's a forty minute? Wait, what do you do at a half hour? You go, let me just check into the check and check in which kiss me. Okay, it's it's proper, It's okay, fine, don't do it every five minutes at the time of what they told you you can do to check you can do it every five minutes. They're gonna make you wait ninety right, So I went up and said, hey, I'm with that guy outside with the phone. I said, how much longer? Scary? She goes, Uh, probably another half hour? So I said half hour. Now, wait a minute, I said, you, we've been here a half hour already. You told my buddy forty minutes that. What do you mean another half hour? She's what are you talking about? I said to him forty five minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes. And I said what? Because I was ready to get down with her. I was ready to get mad. You're getting your free dessert wanted. So I said, so what you're telling it's rugg a lock rug. So I said, are you saying that my friend lied to me about the time so I wouldn't leave? Says, I think that's what he did. So I go back outside to talk to him. He sees me, gives me for a second, hangs up the phone, and walks inside like I didn't come out to talk to him. He goes to the front desk to see how long it's gonna be, As if I didn't just do that, She goes, I just told your friend. So I go, yes, she just told me another half hour. Scary doesn't bad an eye? So I say, did you fucking I to me and tell me it was forty minutes? And you said what to me? I said, I said, I kind of stretched the truth a little bit. Because I knew that you would have been impatient. You would have been impatient, fucking lie to me about the time so that I wouldn't want to leave. You're like, no, I'll tell Brody forty minutes. It's long, but not so long. You won't want to leave because I would have left. You would have said an hour. In fifteen minutes, I would have left. But by that time we were invested because we were there for a half hour, sitting there waiting, and I'm like, we were standing the whole time. Listen, we no, no, no, no, I we we stood there. I paid for a camp for the both of us to get off of you cash. You wouldn't take it right. So I'm like, it was seven dollars, don't go for eleven dirty in the morning. And I'm like, I want by That's another thing. I saw this food badly. Hold on, I want this food badly. It's a mob scene. We paid to get here. I'm here. If I tell Brody it's gonna be an hour fifteen minutes, he's gonna freak the funk out, yeah, and want to leave. So I said, so you like you well. By the way, I also know how these restaurants operate. They always do. They do the under promise and over deliver thing, and here's it. Just promise you got back normally under they are normally double fun normally hold on a second. They normally will tell you forty and then in thirty minutes you're usually sitting down. That's that's what happened. To know, that's a lot. That's your restaurants tell you forty five minutes, so you won't leave, but they mean an hour. Why would anybody, because you go to the crooked restaurants, why would Why would a restaurant tell you forty five minutes if it's only a half hour. You're wrong Because restaurants that I go to, excuse me, the places in the to theliber of Sidel's hold on in Saidel's caliber always do the right thing by telling you longer, and then they surprise and delight you with the table sooner. So I'm like, I don't even have to be honest with him. I could say forty minutes because except there was an hour in ten minutes. Well, they were really busy that day. Well, I mean, I didn't know that was gonna happen. I was rolling. Okay, if you go by the way you're we're in good conversation. And if we're in great dialogue together and lock and step, I could promise it's lockstep, not step step lockstep if we're in fucking locks. Because we were at locks and step locks step locks step. It was a Jewish place, locks step back right, and we were in lockstep with each other. It wouldn't matter. An hour and a half could have picked. I knew that you wouldn't have even looked at your worst of all, you started. You started the day off with a lie. You said, this place is like a couple of blocks away. It's we get walk there. I go, where is it. It's like a couple of blocks. We'll walk there. It's great, okay, no problem. We get downstairs. There's someone getting out of a cab. He goes, it's too fun to walk. Let's get in a cab. And then you made me walk back. That's fine. It was just out of the realm of walking. You right about the distance I wanted to get, lied about the time it talk. You lied, and then you're like so then you're like, oh, uh listen, uh can we get the table sixty five? I know that's the hot table, and she says, you need table sixty one. You funked up the table matter. No, she no, no, you fun because you pointed to the table and she missed a big shot. Missed the big shot table sixty five. It was sixty one. That's so like, what like, I go there all the time. I sit in the big table. So okay, so we sit there and we get our food. We order the food, by the way. Yeah, the food was a feast. It was more than it was expensive. It was. It was why they have a thing on them on the menu called the cripple, the fish Tower, fish tower, okay, seafood, seafood plus, it was the fish tower. Whatever it was, right, it says one to five under it. Scary goes, all right, we'll get the fish tower. No we won't, No, we won't. No, no, Brodie, it's got it's got all these fish. It's got six. He calls over, he calls over the way to and he says, some excuse me, the fish tower. Well, he wants to explain that. He's like, oh, it's got this like it's crazy. Now keep him. I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm not gonna describe the guys. I'm gonna tell you what Scary said. The guy was not Jewish. Okay, that's another problem. You know, you go to p F Chang's, Nobody's Chinese, same place with Sidel's right. Nobody was Jewish. Nobody everyone was. First of all, everyone looked like either a struggling they were all good looking people. I feel like when you go to an ethnic place, you go to Italian restaurant, you kind of hope the people are Italian. Sometimes you're going into them and they putting on fake Italian access. That's I'm fine. I'm fine with that. They're doing that the trick. It's like Stacy's Pizza not going there. I want your Zeppa. Every want says to pizza, that's fine, or hey, is your pizza. It could be New York at every food blog and every critical magazine or online blog or and any any even the New York Times, and you can look at his place. Look it up everyone, hold on, hold on, hold on at this podcast, hold on as a D E L L E S NYC googling. Okay, I want ye. The yelp culture are assholes. Really, I got a whole other come their own assholes. When it's you people that you don't like. I have a rant about people. No, no, no, yelp, the yelp culture. Okay, he's a different breed of person. They're they're not even they're they're not even human because the people that go on there are not looking at the right things when it comes to judge. Because every other restaurant within a two block radius had four and a half five stars. How come only the restaurant you like got a bad review? And that's Ban's yelp. I will leave it to the people to all I'm Jewish, I'm gonna give you a review. So continuing with the meal, we're not getting the fish towers like, well, I want this, this this so the way it comes ol, He's like, it's you know, it's got sturgeon. As I said, what's the salmon salad? Like, does it have stuff in it? The tuna salad's got? I don't want salary and I just want like tuna. He says. He's like, oh, it's got all good stuff in you know what that means. He's like, it's got celery, it's got hes. He goes, it's got all good stuff. When you say it's got all good stuff. It's like when you go who is it the party, Mike, Phil, all the guys would ask. That means you don't know their names. He didn't know what was in it. He's like, all that good all that good stuff was in it. This guy wasn't Jewish. I don't want a vegetarian serving me my steak dinner. I want a guy who knows it. This guy didn't know it. Okay, great. When he walked away, what did you say? Do you remember? I forgot? He said, thanks Drake because he looked like looked like Drake. Now I was a good guy. Now, hold on, I tipped. I know that Drake is half Jewish. Don't don't tweet. This guy was not half Jewish. He was only basing the comment on the fact he looked like Drake. Okay, so, by the way, he really he was a handsome man. He was a good look. He's with strike strike one came. You ordered us a sparkling water, a seltzer. No, I ordered tap tap water. Okay, I know you ordered a bus you did a sheltzer, yeah, club club soda Kenny. Alright, so and I said, by the way, he showed up with a diet coke and no ice. Well, he gave you the glass with no ice, doesn't matter. Hold on. And then he brought out what is death to a restaurant for me? You people know what I'm talking about. He brought out a small six inch bottle of diet coke, the glass bottle. First of all, that means it's warm. Second of all, it means no free refills. They don't have soda towers. That's a huge strike. Why is that a strike because the soda tower is always cold? Number one? Number two, it means free refills. When you're getting it by the bottle and they're paying bottle prices, they're charging you for the bottle, you're not getting a free refill. So my problem right away in a Jewish place, what jew doesn't want free refills? Okay, that's my problems jew. Okay, it's not. It's like foo fool So this isn't this isn't. This is foodoos fois. It was foolish. This is jew food. It was foolish jew. This is jew food. It was foolish food Foo foo foolish for it doesn't matter. It was it was high quality and it was great. So then I ordered matza ball soup because you're like, dude, everything he is fantastic. The fun did the matzo ball soup end up in front of me? Okay? So I ordered the matsa bal soup. Took one bite, hold on, hold on, hold on. I did not say it like I like I had someone over with a club. We don't know. I don't speak that way never in my life. Second of all, And by the way, which way did he go boas? That's how the character in the cartoon sounds? Okay, So the matza bo soup comes. If you don't know what matsable soup is, it's google it. Yeah, it's it's like a meat ball, but it's made of matza, which is on leaven bread so big. But basically it's a bread ball. Okay. And chicken noodle soup noodles? Okay? So I said to the guy, what's in the soup? Is it noodles? Is the appetite past? Hold on? So he does it mean again? Because oh yeah, it's got all that good stuff in it, good stuff. He doesn't know what's in it. Because all that good stuff, I'm like, how bad can it be? Hash take good stuff? And then we ordered pigs in a blanket? Yes, which were? Which was were amazing? Which on the menu says side served with a side of mustard? So I say, hey, can I get a side of catch? And gave it to you? No, he did not. The guy ran the food, but the mustard. I asked three different people against it, because because it's sacrilege to dip pigs and blanket and ketchup. What kind of jew? Are you sacrilegious? Again? What kind of jew? My juicy ketchup? I know, but not with pigs and blankets. First of all, you put mustard on that ship. Juicy ketchup and mustard either or both. That's great. Ok. Anyway, you got your catch up. So the mutsa bo soup comes with all that good stuff in it. Right, it's supposed to be a mutster ball in like a clear chicken broth or yellowish chicken broth. The soup is fucking green and there's green ship all over the top. Sam, Okay, you know what it was. It was fucking dill. It was dill weed, dil dil dial. But when you passed it to me, when you passed to me, it was delicious. Because I have to set chump the head for theo. It was dil. It was chunks of deal. I was looking for the good stuff. There was dil in the matsa ball deal deal continue. It was dial everywhere. So then so I was I couldn't eat it. I gave it as scary as like Paul eat it. So he took my dell. He took my spoon and off my spoon. I was like, so good. That was so good. I'm like, scary, give you points for that. You're like, no, gerums, eat my spoon. Whatever you don't, I don't ate my ball. That was good. It was a ball of dill. Okay. Side to the listeners, it was so if you like dill. But here's the thing, if you like, give me an Italian dish that you like. I mean, I'm a fan of egg plant rollotins. Okay, So someone makes a plant rollotini. You go to a place that your Jewish friend says, you gotta go to this place. Italian food is great. They have great egplant rollottini. The egg plant rollotini comes out, it's coming in fucking cinnamon. Are you eating that? Ship? No, Dial doesn't belong on the MATSA ball cinnamon on your fucking totalini. Whatevern egg plant Rollertini would have not the same analogy. But continue, will you go? Oh, I'm taking this place they have they have the best, the best ice cream. Oh, well, you're having some ice cream, then you have no ice cream, comes out and it's got on top. It doesn't work that way. The soup was terrible. I give it a scary he eats that ship up. He loved it. Fine, I put that ship on everything. Then we ordered a sandwich, which they got the sandwich right, yeah, because Brody stripped the sandwich down to Nothe's supposed to come with hello. I want to say, I want to describe. It was a triple decker sandwich, which, by the way, copious amounts. I think your your, your brethren, your your people would be extremely excited to know that even though it was a thirty one dollar sandwich, you got fucking fifty dollars worth of meet it always it was preposterously large. You can see the pictures online. By the way, I want you to keep in mind just the sandwich we split, but it was huge. Hold on, it was cut up into eight gigantic fucking slices. But it was triple decker roast beef, roast beef. It was. It was Jewish salami and bacon, but I don't know what bacon fits in. But as a Jewish style restaurant, we get him get you know, No, it's not even Jewish style. It just Jewish Jewish food whatever. But the best part of that triple decker was coastal and Russian dressing, which Brody said, can I have that on the side. I tell you what side. I did not whine. You made them deconstruct their own side. Sand. We were in the kitchen sitting No. No, they were probably like, I can't believe it. All it is is just fucking Deli meat on bread, and these guys are fucking these stuff. Would want us to pull on the side. Okay, I don't eat call slaw. And second of all, I love Russian dressing or A Thousand Islands is basically the same thing. I love it. Here's the problem. When you buy Ken's Russian dressing, Ken's Russian dressing in the supermarket phenomenal. A Russian dressing is thick and not that lumpy. Fine. When you go to a restaurant that makes their own Russian dressing, they always put in too much pickle, and it tastes like pickle slab. It's a pickle slab, like a slab of pickle. It's it's terrible. So I tasted the Russian dressing. It was like pickle paste. I didn't like it. I'm glad I didn't have it on the sandwich. And what they did was because I'm not stupid, they did They cut the sandwich with a knife that had previously cut a pickle, So there was pickle juice on the sandwich. But I didn't complain of send the back. I put up with it because it's still better than fucking dill. Then a tower of food comes because you wanted to miscellaneous make your own town. First of all, yeah, we had you gotta admit the Scottish salmon, the locks, the smoke. Salmon was Scottish. It was called Scottish smoke. That's bullshit, all right. What was on top of it scary? What was on top of the salmon, and what was what was on the tray underneath? What was the second thing? Was the second that was that was egg salad? Right? And what was on top of the egg salad fucking dill? And what was on the bottom. There was three levels. What was on was onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and fucking dial. Yeah, I see where you're going with they p It was like it was like the prices are expensive, but hey, we're giving you free dilly. Are you seven years old? You? You know when when when they enter the you went to a restaurant, they should fucking put you in a high chair because you act. They give you a shippy cup because you act like such a fucking infant everywhere you we can't take you any fuckingwhear. Suck it up, table, respect the cuisine. The tables were like, there's a reason why these people do what they do. They're chefs, they're better. They know they're they're educated, but they're not half's if they were Jewish chefs. They just make the food like Grandma used to make it. Take the goddamn thumb out of your mouth for a change, and just eat the ship. If you put parsley on my food, I can pick that ship off. You can't pick dill off. This is everywhere and this is why, this is exhibit A why I hate going to fucking spend quality time with this asshole. Hate sitting down. Yeah, you're a fucking asshole. You can't appreciate good cuisine, an awesome restaurant. I'm trying. And when the bill came it was the Olive Garden of Jewish restaurants. Bullshit, that's what it wants. Can't say that about Saidel's. Someone's gonna back to battle. Nobody don't think of this podcast goes to side. But somebody will when they come to New York City try it and they will sit there and they're gonna come back and say that your batship crazy. If somebody Jewish who grew up in a Jewish family, yes, who who lives for Jewish food? Where are you whose grandmother Jewish? Shitty jew mobster? Come to come to the city. No, don't even come to the city. Take a months of I'll put up a cannamana chevits Montsibal soup and then take a fist of dial and throw it in there. And you tell me that's montsi bal soup. Bullshit, bullshit. And wait, I tell you how the day ended. And I had a great time, Sonna yourself, but I want to hold on now listen sometimes and I felt bother, I felt like he was embarrassing me in the stop. Oh god, please, don't act up. Don't act out complain about the don't you No, I will say this, Okay, somehow you beat your tongue. Yep, you guess my tongue didn't have deal on it. And you sat there and you didn't. You didn't. You didn't make too many complaints. I didn't you have any outbursts, for sure. I didn't complain. Didn't was the one saving grace of this big was the table like a bar stool. It was pretty small. The sandwich we had to put up, had to pull another table over because the sandwich didn't fit on the table. I got it. And how about those women next to us, They're like, oh, I'd like to make my own omelet. First of all, we both laughed at her without her knowing it, because you don't want to make your own You don't want to go in the kitchen. And what you meant was you want to create. Yeah, I want to make my own omelet. And then didn't stay hard and make it. Those women were like, yeah, well, hey loud and tribe. No, no, they were trying. They were definitely trying to. I don't want to buy the way they had the day off because it was a Jewish holiday, which apparently you didn't know about. I knew it was a Jewish holiday. I wasn't thinking about it all right, Fast forward, fast forward. Two things I have to wrap up. Number one, I wrote a song. But sometimes when you pay singers, they sound really good. But they didn't enunciate the word locks. So when you hear the word law, it's locks. But play the song. This is my tribute. I do not like to on the XL on top of the last, so I do not like to I don't like to say that I don't like the texture of chip. And guess why. Thus I heard that you'll never ever get another invite. And by the before you go there, the bill showed up. It was a lot of money. And by the way, I did, Brodie, I did. I did say that I did. I was going to afford go with my portion of the leftovers, and I let you take it all home because I know you enjoy that food. And did you enjoy the food at home? I did enjoy the great And the bill came and I gave Brodie an out. I said, Brody, I will handle this entire bill's bill right now. Build bills bills I will pay this bill, bill bill right now, if you absolve me? Is that the right word? From this? From the stake? Then and debacle. Let's call it a day, because you know what we did do. We spent quality time together. We had labs, so we were having fun, and I my wallet incurred a cost. All the boxes pretty much were checked right there. I'll tell you, no Jersey kid trying to fucking interesting. There wasn't. By the way, there were people screaming at this podcast right now, because because it's not a steak dinner. First of all, we already agreed lunch is not dinner. Second of all, there was enough time to get hold. The reason why lunch is not dinner is because you can't. We waited an hour and twenty minutes for a table. I'm not counting that towards lunch. Second of all, there was no steak involved. Third of all, you know I didn't like the food because it was fucking dil dil, dill, del dell. You ate it all and you took the rest of it. And I'm gonna tell you because you wouldn't take it. Third of all, if I'm up the third of all, the bill came and although it was an expensive lunch, it doesn't come close to a steak dinner, not even close. This was like and I had to explained to my wife why I spent that much money on a lunch. When I brought my own lunch to work. You're like, Brobie, don't eat your chicken burger. I'm like, let's go to Sitdel's. And by the way, you and tell me Saidel's was Jewish food. Till we were in the cab, I thought Sidell's was the place you wanted to have great teams going the way party. By the way, had we taken great tea forers going away party there, we've been a fucking disaster. I told you know Ali Gold, who does the web for us, Yeah, you know three Oh she she hold on, I've told her about Siddell's, said she were Jews. Where should I go for brunch? I said, you gotta go to Siddel's. Saidell is amazing. And uh and Scotty B another fellow Jew. I told Scotty B. I said, hey, I'm like, you couldn't you missed out, dude. You could have come to you could have come to punch. Let's go for the truth. Now let's talk about what the truth really is. I tweeted out, Scary and I are at a Jewish restaurant that specializes in Jewish food, and today is a Jewish holiday. OI and Scotty b tweeted, so glad I turned down that invite. You we sloppy seconds, You motherfucker. You said you took me to that restaurant because the other jew canceled on you. Second jew me Julie first, your second majued me. I was your tuto. I was number two up. You were not June number two, according to Scotty. I was you no no, no bill's bills bills. You were coming. Was going to be Scotty with Brody, Okay, don't with me, got me bro I was gonna I was gonna say I was gonna have the three of you, that the two of you come with me. Who did you ask first? Well, I saw Scottie first, and he turned Scotty first. I've been here with you every day for four hours in the studio. But you know damn well that no matter what, even though I asked Scottie and he turned it down, I was still coming for you anyway. You're gonna have this Ali, the three of us, No, not at Ali. Wasn't Ali just that was another occasion. I just told her way to go to get a great bunch. I had you, me and Scotty. I thought the three of us could go grab some brunch. You know, old school, because we're o g s right, We're all old school. What do uh should I get? Alley in here? Well? Gets Scotty be on the phone. Scott to be on the phone. Scott to be on the phone. I want to ask him. I want to ask him about Jewish food? Is Ali here? I don't know? We're you don't need any Jewish you know what I'm talking about. I'm gonna get all. I'm gonna call Scotti. B what what what are you doing? Fancy? I'm telling you you don't appreciate the final things in life. You appreciate nothing. You deserve to sit home every single day and order your Chinese takeout steel grape. You know what they don't have in Chinese food? Dill Ali, come on in here? Ali called everybody. She's our our webmaster at elstrand dot com. Pick a chair with the light on that says sit here. If there's a light on and I'm trying to get Scotty Be. We're gonna have a tribe. This is for the tribe, Scotty Be. Now again, you don't have to be Jewish. It's Scotty. Whatever your food is, someone fox with it, it's not good Scotty. You there. Yeah, my apologies, I'm on speaker. I'm in the car. Okay, listening for a quick second. Talking, we're talking about the Sidel's brunch. We'll refer to our June number four or missed you. Okay, okay, let's go back first, Remember several weeks ago I told you about that wonderful brunch spot Sidel's. Yes, okay, yeah, and I'm talking to Ali for second, Scotty, but you're coming to this. Yeah, that's okay. Uh, what was your takeaway? What did I say? And just give us your whole thing, with all of either of us speaking, um of what you said about side, just about Sidel's and what you investigated and what what your what your takeaway is? All? Right? Well, Scary told me that it's like the brunch spot and he told me I had to try it, and I went on Instagram and looked it up and I was like, oh, it's kosher food. It's not kosher, but continue yeah okay, um, so yeah, I don't look good. But um, I didn't go out and get it yet? Do you plan on it? Sure? Why not? Do you? Do? You? So? What do you know? What do you know of this place and the food there? What do you know of it? It was ascribed to me as, oh my god, jew food. It's so delicious. They make bagels, right or funny? You're right there? No other place does that. Yes, it does because I worked in a bagel place. Um, locks, everything so delicious, come for lunch? You know? While I am a well, I'm a well, I am a Jew, I don't really love I don't like locks, I don't like white fish. I don't like any of that stuff. Did you did you? I did not juggle it? Okay? Question for your Scott on a scala one to ten? How much of an opinion do you do? How much credit do you give Scary's opinion on Jewish food when he didn't even know what sturgeon was when we got damn? Is this a Quinnipiac pole? Yeah, Scott weary, be honest though, don't don't be funny, you be honest I'm not. I'm not Scary is a foodie. But I do you know, while he's always like sgot this Michelm stars everything, I do know that Scary does know a lot about food food that I wouldn't trust your opinion usually. Okay, hold on a second. You trust his his suggestions on food in general, but what about culturally appropriate, standardized taste? Are you paying a snowflake on our own podcast? Would I would? I would trust. I would trust Scary more with Italian food than any other. Fair enough, But you want to distrust me about Jewish talent. Okay, But but if Ali told you she went to a great Italian restaurant, would you trust her opinion as much as Scary? Yeah? I worsh whatever Italian Italian? Thank you? Yes, thank you, Scott. You just disproved No, no, no, the theories blowing up in the face. Because Italian food is general. Everybody eats Italian food. Jewish food is very specific, really like Indian food. Indian people eat at a certain by. Chinese people don't eat eat the thing. I don't. I don't. I don't like really good food anyway. Okay, Scott, So when you're out of this you ask let me ask you a question, and ali both of you. Yeah, when your mom's or your grandmother has made mats of ble soup, what were the basic ingredients of matster ble soup? Isn't it just not coming to take it for it? Well, see, believe it or not, my non Jewish wife makes the best master ball soup I've ever had in my entire You know she's not Jewish. According to what does she put in it? What did you grow up eating? When you think of munster ble soup, what are you basically having it? Unfortunately, it was mother's from a jar when I grew up eating. What's in it? It was mats of balls, carrots, some soup, greens um, maybe a turnip or two, and a parsnip whatever that is. Yeah, I didn't what was in yours? I just remember the mats of ball, right, and maybe a carrot? Okay? Okay, So there was no crazy seasoning in it? Right? No? Okay, Scott Scotty Bees sounded pretty elaborate. There's a lot of stuff that I don't think nobody but I've never heard of a turnip in snip. No, no, no, If you listen, if you go to the supermarket around the Jewish holiday, they sell a package of stup green. Let's pal let's phrase it this way. Would it be out of the ordinary to find deal in your in your thank young, Yeah, thank you, thank you. Scott. We went to this place, there would be there would be parsley. But I mean, I've seen dil in the package of soup greens, but I don't think gill is normal. The matster ball was green from dil. The soup was green from dil. The cover the top of the ball had a deal fucking hill. It was a dial hill on top hashtag dilan. The super self that the soup it self is not seasoned properly and they're just covering something up with dial. Yeah, they fucking scar like it's deal isious. It was, And I say they were delinquent in putting dial in the soup. Okay, egg salad, you make an egg salad? What are you putting your egg salad? Scott? Vomit because I won't go near it. Okay, ego and nothing this place. When I asked him what's in the tuna allad or the salmon salad, he goes, oh, it's salmon mayo and all that good stuff. You know what's part of the good stuff is the only way, the only way I would ever go to that place is because to pay. And Brody decided that he didn't want it. He didn't want it. He's like, nah, I'm gonna pay half. Scary, I don't want to. He didn't want that. He didn't want that to be his steak. That's why, thank you, Scott, thank you. It's the stake. Dennery, o you, I'll pay for you brunch. Brodie's attempt his his his nonstaff attempts to discredit me. Ally, I promised to buy you a car, but if you want, I'll buy you a Razor scooter with dill on top. How about that? Yeah, you can't trust Brody for fucking for his opinions on food. They both agreed, you don't put dill in in Jewish food and mants soup. That's the only soup should not be green. Scary just loved it because I had some crazy high rating of something and YELP and everything. Don't tell me what's the gat said, tell me what's the Gadowitz said? Okay, if the Ghaowitz gives it a rating, call some listeners somewhere is gonna go to side and give us an honest opinion, and then I'm gonna gave us an honest opinion the people that gave it three stars on yelp. You cannot trust the Yelp. I'll go with you one day. I'll give it an honest opinion. I'll go because I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. Okay, I got it, I got it. Take all three of us, Okay, Ali, Ali and Scotty brunches on me. Fuck you, Brody, you're out. I'm gonna take the two of you guys to brunch on me at Sadel's and we'll come back and we'll let them honest opinion. You're buying them. You don't like Dale, you asshole. But how come they get free lunch? Doesn't matter anything. I'll take it exactly. You should have paid for my lunch because I didn't need it. I tried to. You wouldn't take it because you because you don't want to give my steak dinner. You know what, Brody, you're out. You complain too much, but I will tell you right off the bath though going there, I won't try the masketball too, because I'm not a fan of deal. And I don't think they can take it out. I'll put the rest of the food in this place. And by the way, we're not a sponsor. Be a sponsor. I just trashed them. It doesn't matter. But your opinion doesn't count. And I gave them two stars on People. Let people. Let people judge from themselves. Why this is the five How much was the bagel fifteen dollars? That's not true, that was It came with things, it came with. Still, thank you for your opinion today, No problem. Thanks for having me on. I love being on, and we were. I was on Cerial Killer. I'm not on Serial Killers enough. I'm still waiting for the episode where they introduced heavy cream to the cereal and then I'm in because I love the whole other conversation. I don't know who the hell eat cereal with heavy Can you refer to scary as as your friend heavy cream like a rapper, just a boy heavy creamy? Yeah, never call them scared, but get him a gold chain next episode. You're in. Thanks, Thank you, Thanks, You have a head of kite. I have a little bit of a and you've only been here for five minutes. Can you imagine me sitting here for an hour and a half with moun What are you yelling at me for? You're the one does all the yelling. Yeah, that to me. Um, well thanks Ali. By the way, listen to Ali and her podcast that doesn't exist anymore, but used to it was what was he used to be called the Bees on the mic and the Beestancer bitches bitches on the micro left. Yeah, one of the bees moved to Los Angeles here it's and um the other bee, Corey J. I think she's doing real to go up in Connecticut somewhere. Yeah. Well, Brodie would rather starve than than go to Sadel's again. You know what. I would go back and maybe have the French toast because I didn't have any deal on it. Listen, there's a lot of good food around us, a lot of great food around us every single day, and you know, we're always tempted, but we have to do things to keep ourselves on track. And Brody, you found the system that was fantastic. I found it to be unique. I found it to be different. It's called nom I've talked about it before. Uh. It's a program that you you get an app for it and it helps you watch what you eat. It teaches you how to eat. It teaches you about not eating in a fog like when you're watching television and you lose track. Uh. It has uh consultants that you can interact with. Picture of one stop shop program for all your health and weight weight loss needs. That's what NEUM is all about. You don't have to go looking for these individual apps that do one thing. NEWM does it all. And of course, as Brodie just said, you get a goal specialist and a community of support staff, which is always important. That's the backbone to making you stay on track and accountable. Um. It's not a diet, it's a it's a lifestyle. It's a lifestyle change. Right. It helps you deal with things like triggers like oh, whenever I see a baseball game, I have to eat popcorn. Right wherever I watch you move a half, I have to eat uh whatever. So it helps you deal with triggers so that you're not falling into the usual traps that make you loose, that make you gain weight. And of course it's based on psychological uh, based on psychology uh. New it teaches you why you do the things you do, and it arms you with the tools to break those awful habits, make healthier choices that puts you in a better mood. Uh, it gives you if it makes you feel like, give more self worth and it's it's listen and because, And it doesn't have to be about losing weight. It could be about you just want to fit into your clothes a little better, or you want to you want to lose a couple inches. Great, but how about how about it teaches you to not feel guilty when you have a treat. You know you're you're trying to lose weight, but like, oh I had to chocolate bar, you're trying to feel bad. NOOM tells you you don't need to feel better. Your time investment with newm is only ten minutes a day. Don't you deserve that for yourself? Ten minutes you can chat with your goal specialist and the new community. Uh. And of course we want you to sign up today at this website New dot com slash Brooklyn n O O M dot com slash Brooklyn. Small steps make big progress and you don't have to change it on one day. Sign up for your trial today at new dot com slash Brooklyn. What do you have to lose? Wait, uh, all right, I'm not gonna yell anymore. Are you sure about that? Because I don't trust that. Well, I'll tell you what. I've got some used jokes. We haven't gotten to those in a number of weeks. Let's do that. We've got email, I've got some stuff I want to read. We have email at the as I got I got some I got stuff on my phone like tweets and Grammar Police. I got that. But speaking of Grammar Police, we don't have to do a Grammar Police segment necessarily. But I have a couple of radio intern cover letters. One of them is a blatant error and one of them I want to need the pomp and circumstance for this if you want, but it's a short segment out these. Uh. Now, we're in the middle of a semester, and I'm not going to start looking at resumes for the uh the spring semester until probably the first or second week in November, so the good stuff is coming. These were a couple of people that were like, oh, I get emails from people. Hey, um uh, this is my friend's kids, cousins, brother's uncle's car mechanic. He's got a kid wants an internship or hey, uh, can you give this guy an internship? But I get them. We're like hey, and they don't even have like references, you know, like, hey, I really know this kid. He grew up in my neighborhood. He's a great kid, he's good student, loves radio, none of that. Hey, uh, here's a resume, be great if you can help him out. Uh yeah. Okay, again, not a glowing endorsement, but note note to interns, apply for your own damn internship, and if somebody wants to recommend you, that's fine. Yeah, because what all you're doing by having someone else do it for you is displaying that you can't handle things on your own, or you don't trust your own experience. Right, You're you're not sure of yourself, and we want someone who's gonna be able to be thrown into the fire and do their own problems. This was and we've talked about the mission statement or what their their goal is. So here it is a highly motivated and driven student interested in the fields of martying and communications who is looking to develop a larger applicable skill set. Okay, I don't know what that means. Is that that was a grip and read from somewhere. But hold on, I'm a student with I'm interested in the fields of Martyn M A R T I n G. Was that a typo for farting? Nope, I think it's supposed to be marketing. So step one, this is not a marketing internship. You're out. Second of all, I don't know what martying is. You're out now if you if you are a martying major, I apologize. I didn't google it. You've defended all the martyrs out there, martyr that's right. If you are a martying major, I apologize. But that's not radio. Okay, So good luck in your career in martying. You're not getting an internship now this one. This is where you and I may disagree. Okay, okay. This person claims in their cover letter, who love the Morning show listen all the time all the time. How often is that? Well, this person is every waking and dying moments of the time. Now a person who listens all the time with no certain things about the show? Mm hmm. Here is the top of the cover letter. Yeah, Dear Elvis, Danielle Gandhi, Scary Jones, Scotty B. Straightenate, Sam, Froggy Brody and Garrett. Hold on, stop right there. You didn't disqualify this person for that line, just for that line. You listen every day? Okay, I love Scotti. How is Scott Brodie's ego is bruised? No, your ego is bruised. How is Scotty B? Five? I love Scotty B. How is he ahead of Sam? Nowhere and nowhere? I am pretty sure Brody that nowhere in that cover letter is there a pecking order where it says this is an order of most important at least important. It's not in there. First of all, if it was pecking order, I wouldn't be ninth. That's what I'm saying. You know, why are you taking offense to it? I'll tell you why because if you because if you had just written that, I'd be like, oh, they know the show. When your cover letter is written about how well you know everything about the show you listen every day, then you should know I run the internship program, and therefore you should before it should say dear Mr Brody and call it a day. Gandhi God lover her is not reading this. Yes, Scotty B. I love him is not reading the cover letter. I have no problem you, who have not looked at a cover letter in your fucking life, is not hosting a show and saying print up all the is amazing. I want to go through the resumes and read if you had said, if you had said, dear Elvis and David Brodie, what does Sam have to do with this? I love Sam? Sam wasn't in turn you put me ninth? This is only suppose you are a fucking ass hat. If that is the reason why you're out, that they're out based on that ninth? What about what about the skills they may have? Skill number one? Don't say you know everything about the show? What about no? What about anything that came after that, like their entire cover letter and their actual resume? What about an interview process? Where's all that? Let them interview with the other eight people first, and if the other eight people want, I'll interview her nights. Man. Nice, you are fucking but hurt. I am upset. That's terrible. This is the deal of cover letters. You should be disqualified. You actually they should take the Internship with program away from you based on that? Is this how you based your decision? Highly iraction? Would you like to be in charge of the internship program. Exactly, You're gonna keep it. Okay. Now, with that said, she spelled scary wrong. I don't care. I exist and I'm and I'm by the way, I'm fourthy. I like the way you remember that scary yeah with nice as. I love Froggy. But he works in Miami. He's never going to see this cover letter. He's eighth. I think you should call him. Let's call him up right now. I'm not doing that to call them. I'm not ready to do that yet. Let's call them. On this podcast, people love when we make phone calls. I e. The Walgreens call from last week. We have to talk about that, do we It's already ten to one, and by the way, let's make it. Let's make a quick update on the on the Walgreens call. Are you seriously done with the hold on? Everybody? Everybody? Everybody? Maybe we'll call next week because we're running late. Everybody loved the Walgreens call except one person. One person wrote on on Instagram. And by the way, we do want your feedback. I mean that was a long form weird so everyone loved it. Everyone, No, don't say that, Mr Knights, hold on by the way, hashtag ninth do that. This gentleman sent me a post on Instagram. My wife is a supervisor for Walgreens Corporate and she heard your podcast where you called corporate. The girl at the end is on her team, so my wife is not happy. Both girls are being called into the office to explain why they were being ruined and distracted. So I wrote back immediately, no no no no no no no no no no no, I said, please tell your wife not to do that. What we did was a comedy bit, and we asked way more of them than they probably should have expected. You're going to bring unnecessary attention to them and our podcast. Please call off the attack dogs, leave them all. He rot back, it's a learning, it's a learning, it's a it's a learning experience. How weird was that? And now someone else wrote Amanda at tesla dot net, how do you spell that? Tesler? Yes, like the S S L E R one of my kids. I'm listening to episode one or two and dying laughing. I worked at Walgreens for two and a half years and was a manager for most of that time. It was never policy to say the following customer and I don't think I've ever said that before. In all my time working there, I always said something like I can help whoever is next. I found this episode absolutely hysterical, and being a former Walgreen's employee made even better. Hashtag fuck you, Lisa. I also want to take a second to say thank you for all the laughs. I've had a bad weekend, but I listen to you guys. It made me feel so much better. Oh, we put smiles on people's faces. Keep doing what you do, keep the rants going, and thank you for always making me laugh. Also, Brody, can't wait for your book. Hashtag slices for life. Hashtag started from zero. That's from Amanda. And this is from not the Amanda you talked to from Walgreen's customer service, but the Amanda from Jersey the better Jersey Kid Frank Frank at rough Draft nice Twitter, he writes. The clothing store I work at uses the following guest thing when calling people over to the registers. No one ever pays attention, and the cash has called the people several times before they walk up. I always thought it was stupid too. And if you're wondering what's going on, who is that from? By the way, Uh, Frank at rough draft Okay, right, So anyway, the point is we had made a customer call on air on this podcast for listening in to order. It was last week. It was last week. Listen to last week's episode. If you don't know what we're talking about, why unless you're brand new? You heard it right, That's what I'm saying. We're always welcoming new people through the door. Anyway. By the way, Jennifer Lively about the follow the following guest at Walgreen's, um, Hey, Brodie and Skery, Scori and Brodie, thank you for addressing this following guest conundrum. Is it a conundrum? In my experience, it's been a uniquely we just have a conundrum as to what the yeah we could Uh. This has been a uniquely New York City thing. I moved here two years ago and noticed right away that most of the cashiers say this, and worse yet, shorten it by just repeating following over and over until you realize they're talking to you. New Yorkers seem to know what it means. Nope, but maybe the tourists in the Times Square location did not. I've lived all around the Northeast, and I've never heard this before moving here. It's one of those uniquely New York things, like everyone using the same door to enter an exit the store even though both are unlocked. Seriously, you'll notice it everywhere now and it will drive you crazy. That makes this city great and different. A real New York cashier, we go, Hey, that's it? Yeah. Hashtag slice for Life Jennifer uh ps Brody scallions are vegetables, and they better also tell me they're in the dish so I can tell them to leave them the funk out. Thank you. Hashtag suck you scallions. What's her name? That's Jennifer, Jennifer. I want you to email us FT here this What are your thoughts on dill Jennifer Lively? So so yeah. I have one more here from about the following guest Cole Underscore Seminum. I can't read it. Uh. Regarding the pictures we put up of our Sidel's food, that all looks delicious and those bagels look like the opposite of Spagel's. Very true. They were great bagels. We are right. They were small and hard, but they were good. Um. So, like your penis, you want it there's no dial on it. Oh so you wrote Brilli and I had the best day at Siddel's. This person wrote, the real best day is the week. The real best day of the week is when Scary Jones buys David Brodie steak dinner. Not a steak lunch, not a steak matton a, but an actual dinner. Thank you, d g FO three or six? Um So that okay, So you want to do some uh unused jokes and we'll get out of here. Yeah, it makes there's nothing on the best podcast I did the Peter Mali we did. We we talked about all this stuff. Oh, I'll save the juju thing for next week, Peter Millar. Okay. Some of these are like six weeks older, right, yeah, because Bertie writes jokes for the show and then sometimes they don't get used, so Brodie puts them in a pile and we regurgitate them. Right here. You'll see how all this one was. This wasn't really a joke. Is more of inside but I had written. Were supposed to write like five things or three things we're gonna miss about Greg t when he left our show. I wrote like twelve things I'm not gonna miss. It was what we what you're not gonna miss? So I read like three things and Gregg Ti started crying. He got so emotional that we're all gonna not miss him, but he's gonna miss the things that we find annoying about him. So as he was crying, A handed of us a note. If he's gonna cry, can I do part to on my list? No, Danielle says, I never ate fish and my joke was not even in college. Danielle get to that every girl tries it once. Yeah, Danielle said, oh, last night a sat Rocky hit the stage and I said it, Oh, is the stage suing him because he punched a guy? Uh. Monica Lewinsky, the story was that her TV shows, her book or whatever is being turned into a TV show. I said, oh, it's about time she got a job from a man. All right. Uh. Oh, we were doing with some show, well with the meat Market. It was the end of Summer Bash at one hundred and who was performing? Not the DJ? Don't mention the DJ. It was Horn, No, it wasn't. I only remember the DJ. Let's say it was Nile Horne And I said, no, I knew we added someone. So my joke was, but wait, there's more. We added marshmallow. He didn't do it. Um, let's say that one. I don't even know what that means. Oh, we were talking about little nas X. We were talking about there was a huge pothole. Daniel hit a pothole, I said, you know, as a huge pothole, gandhi her mouth. We didn't get to that because she smokes pot um. Oh, some woman. We're talking about. Um things that at the emergency room that the emergency room attendance and e ms have had to pull out of people. And a woman had come in and told she called up and said, oh I work in an r And a woman said she fell in a cucumber. It is even the joke that the cucumber fell into her vagina. And my joke, Elvis, was that kids new meaning to the term tall salad. We didn't get to her what else she got hold on? I think these jokes would be better laughing underneath the whole time. But he got no hold on. No is is way too old for you to use. You forgot what you forgot to sell. Danielle did a story that Billie Eilish, she's dating someone. I said, I hear he's a bad guy. I didn't get to that. Oh. Uh. Nate was complaining that someone used his picture on grinder and I said, someone used scaries picture on sausage palm grinder. Okay. Uh. Danielle confused motor boating with motherboard. She's like, oh, what's up part of the computer the motor boat? I said, no, motherboard is I T. Motor boating is T I T. Didn't get to it, said it. Uh Oh. Jason Momoa got hit with a bulldozer and uh Ala said, oh, you know what, I wouldn't mind getting hit with a bulldozer. That's the only way I'll get flat abs. You wouldn't do the joke. Don't be a doll. I'll tell you well. You know who doesn't need dil people Trump, Brooker, dah Boys, Rock Brooklyn, Brookline, dah Boys, Brock Brooklyn,
